Thinking about Rana introducing Groda to other people bc she has to be forced to socialize eventually. And like, Groda meeting Sunny eventually and immediately clocking that he's missing an arm and trying to subtly tug on Rana's shirt almost instantly while being very clearly panicked but still trying to hide it. And Rana eventually pulls her aside like "What?? what is it?" "You didn't tell me he was missing an arm!!" "...Why would that matter?" <- understandably getting the wrong impression from this "Because I've seen it before." "Oh."

And that was the day that Rana learned Sunny's arm was ripped off by Groda's Warden at the worst possible timing.

I had a fun time, it was nice to meet cool people and shake their hands and serve a mother slay, etc - AND it was very cool that my cousin Will won for Slow Horses, so proud - BUT

as fun as it was, I know when the chips are down none of the people I met last night (except Dave) are gonna be there for me. They don't know me, even the ones who recognised me and said they follow my work, and that's okay! The people who are really gonna be there for me are my audience. Some of you have been watching since the bookshelf days and even earlier. Now I'm on the red carpet at the Emmys and that's cool, but I know who put me here. You. Especially you, tumblr fanbase. (Best fanbase.)

So here's to many more glitzy events and slay fits, but I hope I always remember where I started and who got me where I am today

alice has to go home. that's part of the story. that's the happily ever after. alistair knows this. knows it from his grandfather who went through it. knows it from his mother who did the same. knows it in his bones. that one day's going to be the day he leaves wonderland, for good.

bunny knows this too. knows that as soon as he follows her down that rabbit hole for the last time, the clock is going to start ticking for when he has to leave. so she steps back. tries to stop herself from spending all her time with him. from laughing at his jokes. from loving him. because she doesn't know if she can survive the heartbreak when it's time for him to leave.

the cheshire cat knows this as well. that it's supposed to happen. that it's because of destiny. that it's all bullshit. it's this anger that floods her senses and pushes her to steal that damned storybook of legends. the book that they signed on legacy day. the book that sealed their destiny. the book that stole alice from her.

so she sends ever after into a topsy turvy with a little curse. so what. maybe it's boredom. maybe it's pettiness. maybe it's sending a postcard to an old flame up above asking remember me?

cheshire remembers when she saw little alistair, the spitting image of his mother, for the first time in wonderland. the mad hatter was accompanying him, of course, as his mom couldn't. kitty asked if she could go meet him, but cheshire didn't react at first. her feet were glued onto the floor as buried memories came bubbling to the top.

law and luffy are so fun bc the fundamental basis of their relationship is that they were both there for each other in one of their most isolated, life changing moments of grief, and they’re the only reason the other survived it. they may not necessarily know all that much about each other, but they do know parts of each other that not even the closest members of their crew (their family) know now. like obviously by the end of dressrosa law sees and understands the reason luffy’s crew follows him, but I think a less obvious truth is that when law saves him luffy sees and understands the reason law’s crew follows him. I just think about luffy’s instinctive faith and trust in law on punk hazard; he looks at law and understands that as much as he pretends not to be law is fundamentally the person who saved him before he is anything else. and I think they both kinda struggle to categorize the specific and unique way in which they are important to each other (although admittedly luffy stops caring to much much sooner LOL), bc it IS different than their relationships with their crew or their family. not necessarily any more or less meaningful, just different. and idk i guess i just think it’s all very sweet, in the end, that they managed to find each other like this.

i like that hc because it bypasses a fundamental problem present in anything ive been able to come up with, which is that if their meeting relied on one of them helping/saving the other it would mean the thing that kickstarted their friendship was gratitude/debt. but this can't be the case because they are TRUE equals. and for someone like majima to be truly equals with someone their dynamic has to *not* rely on doing each other favors. but this kind of playful "ill teach you how to not be so fucking annoying, which is something im doing for both our sakes" approach avoids that problem entirely. its perfect

The things we do for this asshole, I swear... he's lucky I like his grandson so much or I wouldn't bother. At least he doesn't have paralytic abasia this time, but he still had to be dragged back to our base... to jail. Because as much as I like XiaoLiang, his grandpa does annoy me a lot and he needs to be converted.

It's good to see Ivy feeling better after her brush with death, though. She's back to full power, converting prisoners with ease ready to be released to the world when we don't want them.

I've been super quiet, this past month, but now that it's May, I've decided to make an attempt to return to tumblr and self ship! I can't promise to be super active, but I certainly want to try!

I went ahead and gave my blog a re-theme, since I wanted something new--and I've also revised my BYF/DNI for the millionth time, but it was mostly to remove a few things, while also simplifying everything. All my important boundaries are still there, just not as wordy, and I reinstated my phrase! I've also changed a small part of my pinned--I want to try going by just Sherlock, here!

Lastly, I haven't gained any new romantic f/os--that feels impossible for me, at this point--but I did get a commission from a good friend of mine, while I was away, and I'll be posting that, soon!
