Misc notes:

most swords don't have dragon spirits, they must be "cultivated"/hatched over time, formed from their use and time in the world

e.g. a skillful grade sword made by a master swordsmith but has hung on the wall since it was made will not have a spirit as it was not used and the sword not cultivated, compared to a common sword that has been used a lot)

however, the sword needs to last long enough so weaker swords that can't last 100+ fights will not be able to cultivate a sword spirit, i.e. baseline for spirit formation requires a certain forging and sword quality

some thoughts on a secret relationship with celebrity!yeonjun x non-celebrity!reader

(angst and fluff, gn!reader, implied mention of stalking but only hypothetical - nothing actually happens)

the most out-in-the-open he's ever been with you was when the two of you first met by chance. since then your dates have been hidden away, mundane, unromantic even: holding hands under the blinking fluorescent lights of the fire exits in his company building, or eating takeout food inside his car parked in a dingy alleyway with the car's tinted windows rolled all the way up. in between bites of your sandwich you laugh at a corny joke he just told you and his eyes light up at the sound.

he wishes that he could romance you the way you deserve: afternoon strolls through parks, dinners at cozy restaurants, trips to the beach. the sound of your laughter would not be contained to his car but be heard by everyone, and he'd laugh and smile openly too. but his company has invested too much in his image and he knows they would not take it well if their resident heartthrob were revealed to be in a relationship. and he fears, too, what the worst of his fans could do to you if they found out.

so he makes up for it by showering you with as much affection as he can during your brief moments together. when he holds your hand he intertwines his fingers with yours, squeezing gently, always lifting your hand to his lips for a quick kiss before he lets go. under the harsh lights of the fire exit he holds you close, arms secure around your waist and your head fitting into the crook of his neck, so that he can feel your warmth. during conversations in his car he listens to you talk about your day and your mundane job, hanging on to every word and to the sound of your voice - but he can't resist teasing you and throwing in a cheesy pun or two just to hear your sweet laugh.

and on days when you get to sleep over - rare days when the stars have aligned and everyone else is away - he always wakes at the first rays of sunrise with you in his arms as soon as you begin to stir. you have to sneak back to your place before it gets too bright. no matter how careful you are not to disturb his sleep, his eyes always flutter open to take in the sight of you. your heart aches as you brush his hair away from his face to leave a lingering kiss.

and always he holds on to you for a little longer so he can kiss you once more, savoring the feeling of your lips. he whispers "i love you" into your ear before he lets you go. you whisper "i love you too" back with a peck on his cheek before you shuffle out of his bed.

he hopes that one day he'll be able to say it out loud instead of having to whisper it.

If Hal and Clark were to have a baby, how’d they take care of or handle it

god I've actually thought about this...way too much. This depends on SO many factors, including but not limited to:

is Hal a trans man? For that matter, what's up with Clark's gender?

are Clark and Hal officially "together" yet or is their relationship something more complicated?

is this post-Parallax? is Helen in the picture?

For that matter, is Clark actually the Last Son of Krypton or is there Kara and Kon and others running around?

is the baby a bio baby? does either of them need to carry a baby at all, or can they use a Birthing Matrix, or can Hal "make" a baby through sheer willpower a la The Last Will and Testament of Hal Jordan?

how does Hal feel about kids? I like to think he's the type of guy who SAYS he hates kids (which he doesn't, he just hates the nuclear family and settling down bits), but he is the best uncle figure ever, so I imagine he would actually be an awesome dad. (Possibly, the type of dad who panics all the time about whether he's doing better than his own dad, and overcompensating for it sometimes)

I could probably sit here for hours just talking about how all these different factors could change each scenario, but for the sake of actually wanting to answer this question: I think if Hal and Clark were to have a baby, Clark would be ecstatic about having another Kryptonian around (not because he cares about biology but because he'll be glad to have another someone around who understands ykwim, and also bc he wants to give his kids what Ma and Pa gave to him), and Hal would freak the fuck out about it before eventually locking in and becoming the best possible dad ever (or at the very least, trying).

However, neither of their jobs really lend themselves well towards childrearing, with Clark needing to be able to go across the planet at the drop of a hat to take care of anything and Hal spends like half his life outside the solar system. They might mutually decide to take a step back from their respective superhero lives, at least for a little while, to take care of the baby, which Hal would have complicated feelings about but yk.

Generally speaking, I think they'd both be really, really good parents, especially together. Honestly, both of them being well-adjusted might be a requirement for them to even get into this situation in the first place. Hal might fuck up a few times but ultimately always come through, and Clark is, well, Clark. He had quite literally the best parental figures in all of DC Comics.

In terms of dynamics, I think Hal would be the "fun dad" because of all his experience being an uncle figure, whereas Clark would be the more emotional, sweet one. Because Hal is the fun dad, Clark might have to be put into more of the rule-enforcing role, but because Clark is so kind and so good at communicating (well, in most situations), neither of them would be the strict one. They would probably cover each other's "weaknesses" (if u can call them that) pretty well: Clark can take care of the emotional stuff if Hal's a little squirmy for that, and Hal would probably be good at getting Clark to relax if he's worrying too much.

Sidenote: I can't decide if it's funnier for the kid(s) to be the most OH SHIT if Hal or Clark is mad. Maybe Clark. Even if Hal's the fun dad, he does still have a mercurial personality prone to mood swings, but he tends to get un-mad pretty quickly. Whereas if Clark's mad, someone really fucked up. He's a more long fuse kinda guy, I think.

One situation where I can see them having an actual argument about is whether the kid is allowed to play sports. I like to HC that Hal played baseball in middle and high school, and it really made him feel like a "normal" boy, so he'd be the type of dad to try to push his kid(s) towards sports. Clark, however, in at least a few pieces of media, was not allowed to play football because his parents were worried about him accidentally revealing his powers and/or hurting other kids. I think a Clarkhal kid would inherit both Clark's powers and Hal's indomitable willpower, so they would be able to control their powers even as a kid playing sports, but there is the question of "fairness" and also whether the kid would even have fun if they had to throw the game to an extent (a la the scene from Incredibles where they cheer for Dash to get in second place).

Not sure what the solution would be there. Maybe the compromise is that the kid joins some sort of explicitly metahumans-open sports league? Or maybe that the kid learns how to literally turn their Kryptonian heritage "off" since they're half-human and maybe have that option where Clark doesn't? Or maybe that the kid has to wear some form of Kryptonite that makes them temporarily lose their powers or go under a red sun tanning suite before every game? Idk!

but anyways to answer your question- it was the result of constantly being in his transformed state. especially post momo's death he was just constantly depressed and couldn't get himself out of the transformation

i feel like he also detransformed slowly instead of instantly like in canon in this instance. so slowly over a few weeks? months? like that was him trying to get better and actually healing from it (after not doing so for a good few years)

and the consequence is old man white hair :]

abt his reaction- well at that point he doesn't give a shit anymore lmao. he's like "oh this part is still white. hm. might as well happen at this point"
