You wouldn't destroy an artist friend's paintings, even if you think they're horrible. So why is it okay for us to mistreat God's artwork? When you engage in bigotry, especially using stereotypes to mock or lie about minority groups, you are telling God Their creations are inferior and low quality. Genuine question, what's the point of rehabilitating cottontails? I generally understand wildlife rehab through the lens of endangered species where the goal is obvious, preventing extinction, but cottontails seem fine in that regard. Why are parasites and decomposers removed to save the rabbits, aren't they important too?

(I know this sounds judgemental, I don't mean it that way. I am earnestly asking, with maybe the undertone of being a bit of a bleeding heart for parasites.)

Ultimately they are not invasive and pretty much all cases of our rehabilitation are because of human harm or irresponsibility that ruined these babies worlds. We do not have to wait until species become endangered before we care.

No offense but who are you to decide they are fine? They are not at all fine. Does your heart not bleed for the rabbits that return to empty nests to find their babies shredded to pieces by lawn mowers? Or the babies who's survival immediately drops to 25% with mama dead IF we get to them in time?

From outdoor cats from irresponsible owners, deforestation and habitat destruction, and cars killing mothers, it really begs the question "why aren't we doing more to protect wildlife" rather than "what's the point In saving them"

If i am trying to save an animal and it has a parasite im going to remove it. I get a lot of people take perspectives online but I need to emphasize something as a phd candidate of microbiology and immunology. Ticks are disease vectors that affect more than just animal populations. Populations of parasites and hosts are also affected by human activity and if I do not kill the parasite the bunny will slowly die of anemia. If I save the tick it will spread disease throughout more than just rabbit populations. We cannot anthropomorphize ecology. Just as malaria from mosquito vectors can devastate human populations,so can ticks to many species. Yes every animal has its part but we have to understand that we as humans are also a part of the environment.

I love decomposers. They are critical to our environment but you have to understand if j leave maggots on a living rabbit its going to invade their eyes and other cavities and eat them from the inside out. The maggots got removed, the baby does not then suffer the torture of that.

I am the sort of person to carry insects out of the house instead of kill them. I understand the idea of having a bleeding heart for parasites but It is not out of hatred for them that i remove them. Its that I cannot allow diseases to ravage local wildlife populations out of pity for one.

As a biologist i tell you this: do not cherry pick your empathy.

All life is valuable, and so is the context that they function in. I can appreciate the complexities of these symbiotic relationships but I will protect what humans keep destroying so we do not have a net loss of life.

Erasure

You will need:

source texts - books, magazines, newspapers, etc.

a notebook - digital or paper

Do:

Choose source text.

Reading through the piece, identify and highlight words or phrases within the text that impact you or that you find interesting - single words, pairs, or entire phrases.

Remove or block out the unmarked text.

Arrange the remaining words or phrases to create your poem.

You could also find a way to gamify the process of selection to try a more random selection.

You could try setting constraints, such as using only words of a certain length, focusing on a particular theme or emotion, making use of only every other line of text, or arranging the words in a specific form.

Use a longer source text and reduce it in size through multiple rounds of erasure. In each, create a new poem using only the words that remain from the previous round.

Create a list of themes or prompts on separate pieces of paper. Choose one at random to govern how you proceed with the next step of your erasure or word selection.

Use a dice roll to make editing decisions during the creation process, such as which words to keep or remove from the source text, by assigning rules of your choosing to each number on a die.

Yes, blue is the colour of his prison uniform, but I also don't think its a coincidence that they chose the blue = boy colour for our guy over here.

On a similar vein, I think it's interesting how Yuno's two colours are Blue and Pink, especially with their specific placements

The Pink part of Yuno is her Body, which makes sense seeing as that's what her (male) clients are paying for, not Yuno, but the Body and Personality that they enjoy - whether that be for sex or for dates or both.

The Blue part of Yuno is her Brain, aka: where the real Yuno lies. The Yuno that says lines in Teardrop like:

Sculptural printing

Incorporate three-dimensional elements into your printmaking.

You will need:

printmaking, mixed media, watercolour paper

relief items - cardboard, foam board, fabric scraps, other textured materials, etc.

scissors, craft knife

glue, tape, other adhesives

printmaking ink, paint

brayer, ink roller

printing press, press substitute - baren, wooden spoon

sealant

protective gloves (optional)

Do:

Create the sculptural/relief elements you plan to use, using cardboard, foam board, fabrics, or other textures.

Arrange the materials, experimenting with placement and layering.

Attach the elements to the surface securely using your adhesive.

Cover the entire piece with sealant to prevent the ink/paint from soaking in.

Apply the ink/paint to a flat surface suitable for inking, such as a glass or metal sheet, and spread it evenly.

Lay the inked items on the press and lay your paper over them, and use as even a pressure as possible across the surface to transfer the ink.
