I think that, perhaps, I don’t exactly view Holmes and Watson in any sort of romantic relationship, but instead a close queer friendship. They do not have a romantic interest in one another, yet they’ll comfortably sleep in the same bed or be physically affectionate and cuddle with one another. They are each other’s worlds, though only platonically. Watson is able to love his wife while also holding a tender affection for Holmes, his best friend. (and vise versa… minus the wife for Holmes). They feel comfortable around one another to be ‘non-conforming’ in heterosexual terms, yet they would never persue anything further. Instead they find comfort in the fact only the other can understand their own affections, and just how much it means to them both.

Idk tho maybe that’s just me projecting my own experience in my own close friendships with same sex friends as an unlabeled queer person

thinking about twink maverick and wondering how people think he’s a twink. genuinely. I look at these images and see, while yes a short man, a man who is also muscular and probably weighs a ton in pure muscle

1. Late teens to twenties

Sure. Maverick is in his twenties. But only looking at age would technically make me a twink so whatever. Let’s move on.

2. Slim to average physique

Maverick does not have an average physique. That man is built. He is in peak physical condition. He doesnt just sometimes work out, he is actively working out. Look at his arms! His trapezius! Those muscles are clearly developed and strong! In certain uniforms, his waist appears smaller, but that’s what the flight suit does to all silhouettes. Maverick is built like a brick, yes with hips, but he’s not little. He’s short of course, but he’s not small. He’s not lithe, he is muscular, he is BUILT! Look at the left bottom picture. Look at how rectangular. Look at how NOT lithe he is. Look at how not skinny he is. Like come on now.

3. Youthful/feminine appearance

While he is extremely youthful looking as Tom Cruise always appears, i disagree that tom cruise/maverick in Top Gun looks feminine. But that’s not to say that tom cruise has never appeared feminine or twink-like in any way. Legend (1985) is an example of his twink and feminine abilities. But for maverick i would argue that he looks very masculine. Boyish, which some argue is another visual feature for twinks, but not feminine (in my humble opinion).

4. Little to no body hair

To think that maverick has no body hair is just maverick unibrow erasure and i wont stand for it. But seriously. While tom cruise was waxed and oiled up for top gun, this is also happy trail erasure. I will now provide proof.

One of them is from mission impossible but um idc. It’s proof that Maverick HAS body hair, both around his chest and in … lower areas… but Maverick is not hairless enough to be a twink, especially because he doesnt fall into the other necessary categories to excuse/ignore his body hair.

5. (Kind of a half point because not all definitions and understandings of the word twink align with this) but it seems a lot of modern connotations of the word twink are parallel to exclusively bottoming

there was this 12 year old kid in my cabin at camp, and she had a twin sister. her and her sister were both very alike and very different. we were getting ready for the first camp dance and i was going to wear a tie, her sister was in a dress and she had on pants and a button up white shirt. i made a joke about us and another kid matching with our 3 button downs and her sister said ‘yeah [name] really hates dresses’ to which the kid responded ‘they just feel wrong i hate them.’ i agreed and so did the other kid.

i was finishing getting ready and i watched her stare at my tie while i was putting it on, just fully, big eyes, staring at this tie. so i asked if she’d like me to put it on her for a minute because why not? it’s camp, new experiences are important and it’s good to try things you haven’t before. my job is to help with that.

she nodded. i tied it and she looked in the mirror before breaking out into the largest smile i’d ever seen from this kid (and she smiled a lot). she said, ‘it feels so good! it just feels right.’ and so i smiled and said ‘i know, it’s a good feeling.’

she ended up wearing that tie all night and sent her mom a letter the next day asking to get some when she went back home.

Finished the second jabberwock mission and boy am I spinning my wheels.

We saw too little in the second sinostra mission tbh. I need more of what Romeo and Taiga used to get along like. Romeo is kinda starting to worry me tho... and so is Hyde. Whatever they got going on doesn't seem like something the other professors would look at in a good light. And Taiga seeming to be unable to stop himself from eating a fucking mask is very weird. Like is there something about the demon he made a pact with that makes him want to eat anomalies?

Inter house mission!!!!! My beloved!!!!!! Oh it was so good. A second time it was better. So many bits of whatever the fuck Romeo and Kaito have going on. Kaito using his artifact and actually hitting something. Zenji scaring me half to death thinking he'd been eaten by a ghost eating anomaly. Kirisaki brothers matching drip. Jiro getting spider eggs from the belly of the anomaly he helped kill. Romeo digging up a grave and finding a bracelet with the same emblem as Kaito's necklace. So many good things here I need more inter house content.

Karuizawa resort episode... Tbh this one felt really short, so Ed is giving us an out. That's one option if we get super close to the end of the year with no results. Honestly this man is making me want to stake him, stop talking in riddles and being unhelpful you old mother fucker. Hints aren't enough our MC is dense please help her. Rui being so serious was nice tho, he wants to protect everyone. And poor Lyca, making a connection and then being treated like a monster by that man. It was a hard lesson for him. This whole mission made my heart hurt for obscuary (except Ed he's still a lazy bitch)

Jail, jail for ghouls for 1000 tote bags. In all seriousness the fucking audacity to give this to vagastrom knowing Alan's past. I'm still angry about it, the man clearly has issues, this could have been a PTSD situation. And Leo was as usual a little bitch during the whole thing. Getting too cocky and stomping on toes everywhere he went. Poor sho my guy, he just wants showers and people to respect food. Makes me wonder if his family was food insecure growing up. And again poor Alan, getting dragged off and then put into a van with Dante. It's a very subtle form of torture for him. There's so much to unpack in his trauma.

And the last one I've gotten to recently, the farm! Surprisingly a lot of things in this one. The wishes, the cat and dog (who Haru is trying to say could be our second out as the dog god can grant wishes and might be able to undo our curse), the picking ritsu to help the park, towa's weird attack, Ren and his issue with touch, Haru's arm reveal at the end. Lot of unexplained shit here. But what I'm focused on is the last bit, Haru willingly going to Taiga, to his room, and having a talk. This is odd to me and it gave us some names to remember, Gen, Mio, Elias. Gen is who broke Haru's arm, Mio is who fixed it, Elias is who Haru is talking to about them. (Elias/janitor??? was mentioned before ik) There's people in this picture that we need to have filled in. Also we have to find out what Haru's old house was bc this man is making me nervous.

Ugh rereading this story is taking so long but it's so good... If this story wasn't half as good I would have dropped this game already.
