like look at that body language!! the open expression!! theo literally dragged him in there while liam was losing control but he’s not giving off any anger toward theo at all until theo goes out of his way to be callous about brett and lori. he’s just so earnestly letting theo in on his line of reasoning and i will never not be obsessed with the way he asks “well, are you gonna watch hunters murder [my friends]?” because he so obviously says it as a rhetorical question like!! tell us you’ve started to trust theo without telling us you’ve started to trust theo why don’t you

first of all liam’s little “why are you yelling” is adorable but second of all can we appreciate how he’s just So Confused but he seems more concerned that theo has lost his mind than anything else? like it doesn’t even occur to him that theo’s doing anything shady, he just has no clue why theo’s screaming in that moment. and his expression when theo yells at him to shut up and his whole “did you really have to punch me?” will never not be iconic like PLS he’s basically just whining at theo at this point, there’s no real anger or concern that theo actually wants to hurt him

MYKONOS SCENE MY BELOVED. look at him!! he literally has to take a breath at the end of his infodump because he was so caught up in letting theo in on his plan. like it’s so important to him that theo understands where he’s coming from?? also liam totally talks with his hands in both this scene and in pressure test when he’s explaining to theo that brett and lori were part of satomi’s pack which is (a) adorable and (b) definitely comes across as a sign of him gradually getting more comfortable around theo

all in all i am obsessed with way liam behaves around theo in 6b because he’s so obviously trying to maintain his hostility toward him, but so many of their scenes together make it so clear that, more and more, he’s forgetting to keep it up

hehe. xie lian (i am a sicko). i can also justify this to some extent--jun wu/bai wuxiang (i think mostly bai wuxiang, actually?) remarks positively on xie lian's appearance a notable amount, there's the "makes one ache, makes one excited" bit which i cannot read as anything other than Kind Of Weird And Horny, there's the thing where jun wu tests xie lian's virginity by making him bleed on jun wu's sword (i have another whole meta in my heart about swords as blatantly phallic in tgcf but i assume you do not need to be convinced of this lol)--but honestly i don't fully stand by it. this is a ship i have at least 80-90% because i am a sicko. i hope you can all understand

ALSO xie lian. im complex. i contain multiple guys. the thing is that i have a beautiful google doc that consists of every time jun wu/bwx is analogized to a parent/teacher and xie lian is analogized to a child and it has . like. 30 quotes? somewhere around there? it's a lot! it's a lot. "i have decided that we are the same guy due to The Parallels but also i am going to enforce this and Make us the same guy by Molding You into Becoming Me" is an incredibly good dynamic whether it is slash or gen, and i do think the "weird forced adult-child relationship going on" reading is in fact more supported by the text than a shippy one. also when i'm not being a sicko about it there's also something deeply beautiful to me about their ending, about xie lian defeating jun wu but also showing him this moment of grace. and of course the Parallels which apply equally when it's slash vs gen. also you may have noticed that neither this question nor the last one do i bring up guoshi. this is bc idgaf about him. sorry mei nianqing . he exists i just Do Not Care

once again im kind of at the same place i am wrt mu qing of, like.... nothing, honestly? i am incredibly happy with what we got, i think it's beautifully written and the resolution is perfect, mxtx is a good writer and tgcf is a good book, no complaints

having a bit more of his backstory with mnq might be cool, i guess? we get the huge infodump but it's kind of just an infodump, it is just Pure Exposition, going into that a bit more / more naturally than "guoshi helpfully exposits for us" could be neat even tho i dont think its necessary. as mentioned i'm p much happy with what we got

HELLO ANON YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE JUST ASKED FOR

Okay. For starters I actually didn’t go into college with the intent of being a chemist. My original major was secondary education with a focus in chemistry. Aka I wanted to teach high school chem. And that was because of my high school chem teacher, he was amazing and inspired me. I felt like I learned so much in his classes and I wanted to be like him and inspire others

Obviously thats not the route that ended up happening

Throughout my first few years, I got really involved in the chemistry clubs on my campus (ACS, GSE, etc). There was a lot of community in the chemistry department and thats where I made a lot of my friends too. I had people to study with and we helped each other, there wasnt a lot of competition. Once we got to o chem we were all just trying to survive lol.

Meanwhile, in the education department, over the years I grew more and more critical of it. It felt very cold and inhospitable. I barely knew my classmates. It felt more like a job in that it just kinda wore me down. And dont get me wrong! I LOVED my kids. I loved the actual teaching part. It was amazing. I made it all the way to student teaching because of my love for those kids. BUT. After covid hit. The education world got weird. It got too political. Its not about the kids anymore, its about doing whatever administration says. And I just couldnt take it.

A month before I would have graduated, I switched my major. Admittedly, it had been something I was thinking about since my junior year. I had taken analytical and environmental chemistry the same semester and really felt like I found my niche. (Please note here: there is no chemist who is good at all types of chemistry).

I ended up taking a 5th year to finish out a chemistry degree and get a math minor as well. I was really nervous about that decision, but that last year made me feel so much more sure of myself. I took a third analytical class, quantum mechanics, and inorganic chemistry (among other things like biochem). I learned I was *really* good at those things (unlike biochem Im lucky I passed that one). And now I have a job. Doing some instrumental work and data analysis

So I guess my decision to go into chem in the first place is just because the teacher who inspired me happened to be teaching me chemistry (though I was always a fan of science at heart)

As far as liking it enough to make it a career… well… I’ve discovered that I dont think I’m personally going to like anything for 40 hours a week for the rest of my life. And thats probably because Im out of an academic environment now, but yeah. My goal is to be able to have a chemistry job part time. Because full time just kinda makes me dread it. And Im lucky to have things in the works that might let that come to fruition in the next few years, butttttttt. Thats more of a critique on society as a whole than specifically chemistry

okay so! I had written out a whole thing but then tumblr deleted it! so that was fun! /s but now that I know what I'm going to write it's much easier, so that's good 😌

n e ways, I'm gonna do like a basic timeline w explanations and some other stuff that hopefully I'll remember once I start writing!! so let's go :D

a list of everything danganronpa in chronological order (not the order that you should play/watch the stuff in, I'll put that in the explanations)

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Despair Arc (DR3) - second anime, watch along with the Future and Hope arcs after playing the first two games (and UDG if you want to). backstory for the cast of the second game.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (THH) - first main game, play first. also has an anime that's basically the same as the game, but since there's not enough time to put everything from the game into the anime I definitely recommend playing the game. high school students from a prestigious school trapped in said school are forced to play a killing game, hijinks ensue.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls (UDG) - third game, not main. play after playing the first two games. very different game mechanics from the main three, and widely considered not cannon by the fandom. I like it though, and it introduces a lot of really interesting characters along with giving a v underdeveloped character from the first game a lot more character development. it's not necessary to play it (though one of the characters plays a pretty big part in the third anime, so that would make more sense if you already knew her), but I think it's interesting and fun. there are also robot fights.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (DR2 or SDR2) - second main game, play after playing the first game. same basic premise as the first game, except it's a different class (same school though) and this time they're on an island. even more hijinks and plot twists than the first game.

Super Danganronpa 2.5: Komaeda Nagito to Sekai no Hakaimono - (I could only find the Japanese title for this one, sorry 😔) kinda also part of the second anime? watch after playing the first two games (and UDG if you want) and watching DR3. character is woken up from a coma via overdramatic and overpowered other character.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Future and Hope Arcs (DR3) - second anime, watch along with the Despair arc after playing the first two games (and UDG if you want to). aftermath of the first two games.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (DRV3) - third main game, fourth game in total. I don't actually know when it happens bc they're v secretive about everything, so I'm just putting it last. play last. same premise as the first two, the class is trapped in a school with a courtyard and a huge sort of dome around everything. peak hijinks, too many plot twists to count.

woo!! that's the timeline as I know it, hopefully I didn't miss anything. and I have managed to remember what else I was going to say, so let's move on to section two:

the mechanics of the games

danganronpa is, at its core, a glorified visual novel. every character has a certain amount of sprites for when they talk, as well as voice lines that aren't usually the exact text on the screen but fit the vibe of whatever they're saying. and as I've said before, there's quite a lot of talking. these games have more plot than should really be possible and most or all of it is done through dialogue. cutscenes and class trials are the only parts that are reliably fully voice acted, but there are a lot of those.

as for the parts that are less visual novel-y: you can walk around, and the settings are pretty much as 3d as the 2d-ish style of the game allows. you can also click on things, and sometimes clicking on stuff will get you monocoins, the currency of the game, which means you'll be able to buy presents for the characters!!

"now why do I need presents for the characters?" you ask. well, that's because you're given a certain amount of free time each game to hang out with characters you want to get to know better! the game's ending is fixed, so you won't change the course of the game by who you do or don't hang out with, but you can learn more about characters and become closer to them! giving them presents they like makes them like you more :D

and the most exciting part of danganronpa, what a lot of people play the games for, the true lure of the game.... the class trials!!

so these characters are in a killing game, right? basically, they're faced with a sort of lose-lose predicament: stay trapped in the school forever, or kill one of your classmates to "graduate". but it's not as simple as that, because in order to graduate, you can't be caught. and how do you determine whether or not a criminal has been found out? well, a trial of course!

enter the class trials. every student (barring dead or severely wounded ones) is required to participate in a kind of mock trial- except someone's really dead, and they need to find the murderer or they'll all die too.

(right, did I forget to mention that? only one person can graduate. getting out alive insures that none of your classmates get the luxury of doing the same.)

so, yeah. the class trials are a true fight for life on both sides, because who ever loses will be executed.

and they're really, really fun.

entirely voice acted! enough minigames that the list of them is probably longer than this entire post! the joy of solving the mystery! the... execution, right in front of everyone.

hey, it's a dark game. not like they're trying to hide that. and the executions aren't actually all that gory most of the time, but they're still very much there and onscreen. also as close to fully animated as the games ever get, which is pretty cool.

so how the class trials work is this:

there's a murder. dun dun duuuun. you investigate everywhere related to the murder to get "truth bullets", which are the reason you don't immediately fail at the trials. you don't have to remember all of them, they're all written down in your e-handbook. plus, the protagonists all seem to have really good memories.

time for the actual class trial!! Monokuma (asshole bear running the killing game) introduces everything, explains the rules. and everyone starts talking.

there are a lot of different parts to the class trial, but most of it is "nonstop debates". everyone talks one after the other, and you have to find inconsistencies and shoot the right "weak spot" with the right truth bullet. you refute the lie or mistake and everyone goes back to arguing normally.

there's also hangman's gambit (weird hangman to find a key word), multiple choice things (self-explanatory), and plenty of others.

near the end of the trial (or sometimes only a little over halfway in, it varies), the killer will.... kind of become obvious. there's a specific kind of change in behavior that's the mark of the murderer in these games, but I'm not sure how to describe it exactly. a lot of times there's an accent change, and in general they start acting much more erratic. since it's a trial, though, even after this presents itself you still have to prove your case beyond reasonable doubt.

and once it's become clear to the killer that they're backed into a corner, you have to do the "bullet time battle". it goes by different names in different games, but the basic mechanics are the same: you battle against a student (usually the killer, but not always) in a rhythm-based battle where you have to click to the rhythm to refute your opponent's statements. once you've dealt enough damage, you shoot the final piece of evidence, and that's the end of it.

the murderers react differently different times. sometimes they break down and confess. sometimes they keep denying it. sometimes, they're just calm. however they act, though, the end is the same. they are caught and punished accordingly.

but before that, there's one more thing to do. the closing argument.

your final task is to explain how the murder was committed, from idea to execution (look, a pun! see I can be funny too 😌). and you have to do it... as a manga.

you don't have to draw the whole thing yourself ofc- you just have to fill in the missing panels and then watch as the protagonist narrates it to the rest of the class.

and that's all for the class trial, not counting the long talks after every execution while still in the courtroom.

wow, this is getting...... really, really long. there's only one more thing I'm gonna add, and I promise it will be much shorter than the other two bc it is late and I am officially Incredibly Fucking Tired.

my general impression of the game. its vibes or smth, I dunno this is just what i think about it

when I first heard of danganronpa, I thought it was a horror game. I can now assure you that it is not. thriller? maybe. debatable. but definitely not horror.

and despite its extremely dark premise, this game is not all doom and gloom. there's so much stuff about hope, and overcoming despair even when it seems impossible... it's not exactly a happy game, but there's a lot more of that in there than you'd probably expect.

all in all, I love this game. so much. it means a lot to me, and I think it's a really good game. thanks for letting me talk about it so much asdhfd :D

I think th first time he rly sees Adam stimming (i.e. flapping his hands) he’d be like “what’s that?” but not in a rude way - genuinely a tone of “I want 2 know more abt this thing, pls tell me” rather than anything anywhere near condescending/annoyed/mean-spirited like Adam has dealt w fr YEARS at this point. so he’s definitely put on edge a lil bit bc he can’t help it, maybe he starts to like wind down and force himself into quiet hands, but Lawrence is immediately like “no I wasn’t making fun of you!! u don’t have to stop doing it!” which kinda stops Adam short like. what r we doing here. usually when ppl ask me tht they’re also telling me 2 stop. finally Lawrence says “I was just wondering what kind of stim tht was,” like he didn’t almost (accidentally) uproot Adam’s whole shit + is currently Doing So Now by using actual terms tht Adam didn’t know he knew, n so he like takes a moment to absorb tht comment n then he’s like. “oh. it means I’m happy or excited?” and honestly? when Lawrence hears tht? he’s like “oh... so then you’re rly happy? 🥺” n it’s just like. a moment fr both of them lol. (Adam feels Much safer discussing things after tht too, in several ways. it definitely helps w building trust between them!!)

after that though Lawrence definitely takes notice of more things! he’s not afraid 2 ask questions, so tht’s smth tht’s rly good fr them - Lawrence being able to seek information (he also does his own reading + research) to better understand, n not in tht shitty mommy blogger “I know yr in there somewhere” way. he doesn’t want 2 change Adam. he wants a better grasp on wht Adam’s experiences r like so he can help n minimize stress abt certain things. fr Adam tht’s definitely like.. foreign territory, bc as u’ve mentioned b4 + my personal hc as well, his parents didn’t really care 2 get him formally diagnosed + even acted like there was No Way he cld be neurodivergent in any sense, so 2 have some1 who is interested n respectful is So important 2 him. (personal hc time: I hc Adam as both adhd AND autistic like me so there’s tht!!)

so like he takes notice of th way Adam likes 2 roll things btwn his fingers (shirt sleeves, shirt hems, hoodie drawstrings, blankets, soft fabrics he likes the texture of, etc.) n is just like Oh Idea. I like 2 think he gets Adam one of those bead lanyards (like this one, which I also have!) fr him to fidget w n he kind of presents it like “I thought maybe u wld like smth like this?” n honestly he’s a lil nervous abt what Adam is going 2 say. but Adam takes it n holds it fr a minute, rolling th beads n messing w th lanyard itself 2 kind of test it, n he just looks up n smiles n he’s like “I love this. u’ve been paying tht much attention??” n fr Lawrence it’s just like “yes? of course? bc I love u?” like it’s th simplest thing in th world n Adam’s just. Huh. no he does Not tear up, if Lawrence told u tht he’s lying. he’s just Rly not used 2 ppl who want 2 know more without wanting to “get inside his head” or belittle him fr it (ties into my hc tht fr th most part, Adam hasn’t rly had any Good friends...) so it takes a lil getting used to.

another thing!! Lawrence does is ask 2 listen 2 Adam infodump abt his special interests - esp photography!! like they do this thing where if it’s not too late at night by th time Lawrence comes home frm work, Lawrence will take a quick shower n then get into his pajamas n into bed (just fr some quiet quality time b4 they go to bed, bc he still tends 2 come home a bit late), n he’ll have Adam sit next 2 him n he’ll be like “what do u want to tell me?” bc tht’s another thing tht Adam was entirely unused 2 - having ppl who didn’t just tolerate his infodumping, they wanted to hear it. Lawrence might be th first person to not actually give him shit fr it/tell him he’s being annoying/shut him down completely. again, it takes Adam a lil bit to b fully comfortable w it, but once he is he adores having tht time to be excited abt things w another person! who he knows Wants to listen!! (if we’re going th route I personally like 2 think abt sometimes too, where Lawrence is autistic as well, I feel like they infodump back n forth abt photography n medical stuff. do either of them rly know what the other is saying? not rly. are they listening happily bc that’s their partner n it’s smth they’re excited abt? oh absolutely!)

I think Adam has a tendency to eat a lot of th same foods bc they’re safe n he knows he likes them/doesn’t mind their texture (which is a big issue w trying new foods fr him), which is smth tht Lawrence also takes note of and as such, he likes 2 make sure they’re regularly stocked up on at least some of tht stuff. it’s not even smth he tells Adam he’s doing, bc it’s rly tht simple 2 him - Adam likes these things n therefore we shld have them at th house - but fr Adam it’s just One Of Those Things, y’know?? he got so much shit as a kid fr being such a “picky eater” n got shit fr it as a teenager too bc “why don’t u ever try anything new??” was smth his friends/parents Loved 2 say. it’s th fact tht Lawrence rolls w it so easily, doesn’t poke or prod for reasons he eats th way he does, and doesn’t get upset w him fr it/try 2 force him into things he isn’t comfortable w. it means a lot to him, more than he’ll ever have words 2 say (but he does always kiss Lawrence’s cheek when he gets back frm th store n he sees some of his same foods, which is just as good). it’s loving tht he’s autistic because it’s a part of him, a fact, not despite or in spite of. tht’s what’s so nice n kind of healing abt it; feeling safe 2 express yrself as u are w a partner who u know u can trust. who maybe words questions a bit funny sometimes, completely unintentionally, not out of malice (where allistic Lawrence is concerned, anyway). Adam feels Safe, n tht means a lot 2 him.

as fr ways he helps him!! a big thing is tht Lawrence is observant, esp as they spend more n more time together. a lot of th time, even when it’s just th two of them alone, Adam might have trouble maintaining eye contact fr an extended period of time, n Lawrence might not know how much it Actually helps, but he doesn’t mind tht Adam doesn’t always look at his face when they’re talking. it’s smth tht takes a little getting used 2, but he was never shitty about it w Adam. the way he sees it is if it makes Adam more comfortable, why shld he get upset abt it? it’s not like he doesn’t know when Adam’s talking 2 him anyway, or tht he can’t tell if Adam is listening; Lawrence knows both of those things, so Adam not making eye contact isn’t a problem, y’know? it’s okay. n I rly don’t know if Lawrence is fully aware of how much Adam appreciates tht.

another thing is he’s patient + understanding when Adam is nonverbal, whether it be bc he’s having a shutdown/meltdown, sensory overload, or just plain Difficulty w speech. it kinda depends on what I’m writing at th time, but I feel like Adam might have picked up at least a lil bit of sign language here n there; mostly simple phrases tht get th point across. I like 2 think Lawrence learns what they mean so he can take tht stress off of Adam’s shoulders, but most times, Adam is just comfortable sitting in silence w someone he cares abt.

OH brief thing Lawrence is RLY good at helping w pressure stims. he gives amazing bear hugs n I feel like he’d also probably let Adam lay on him if they’re on th couch/in bed. I just Feel It.

OHH I think abt Eric finally developing a special interest now tht he feels more comfortable w doing so a lot. honestly I kind of rly like th idea tht his special interest might be info abt rats! it kind of hits him when he catches himself writing down lil facts (tht might not even be related to pet care!) in his notebook so he’ll remember them + always being excited 2 learn more n share what he’s learned. it makes Adam SO happy to see him being comfortable w tht aspect of himself, esp now that he’s safe to explore it w ppl who understand n who won’t discourage him/belittle him for it,, Mallick too of course, but Adam knows how much Eric struggled w tht kind of thing for such a long time so he’s just. Ah. 🥺🥺

like they’ll all b chilling on th couch (Eric, Mallick, n Adam) n Eric will have his head against Adam’s shoulder while his hand is on Mallick’s chest, who has HIS head in Eric’s lap w his legs dangling off th armrest, n he’ll be like “did u know tht when rats r happy, they grind their teeth together? it’s called bruxing n then sometimes their eyes move in their sockets rly fast while they’re doing it. tht’s called boggling.” n Adam will be smiling so wide when he says he didn’t know tht but it’s rly cool!! n then Mallick will start asking questions n he n Adam just listen while Eric infodumps fr probably th very first time since he was very very young, before it was masked out of him by his parents. n he finds tht he Doesn’t feel so bad abt it anymore, not when he’s around ppl who want him to be happy and want to see him be happy - esp ppl who encourage it n let him know it isn’t smth he has to hide/keep locked away. it’s hard 2 b ashamed of himself when Adam n Mallick r looking at him w genuine interest in their eyes n so so much love.

he might still like, slip back into masking behaviour every now n then, bc it’s something he’s still dealing w n learning 2 leave behind, but after he discovers his first special interest it gets a little easier, letting go of that way of life. it was smth he was forced into by adults who didn’t actually want th best for him like they said they did when they put him through “therapy,” but w partners he knows understand n who are even autistic themselves, Eric slowly learns 2 be more comfortable w it. it’s slow, but it’s progress. bit of a learning curve. he’ll get there.

The reason Kai even brought it up was cuz I told him idk how to actually have conversations. I love talking on Tumblr so much cuz I can freely just give my thoughts out and ppl are free to interact or not however they like and there's so much pressure taken off from the conversation not being in person and on a timer and full of secret social cues. I simply say what I wanna say and then you say what you wanna say and it mainly goes smoothly from there.

In person it's a bit harder. Usually it's not like I don't have anything I want to say but I just don't know how to put it in the conversation. I started talking abt it to him cuz I noticed how weird it was that he talks abt the things he likes all the time but I rarely ever infodump to him abt the stuff I want to.

He usually dominates the conversations cuz he can just talk and talk abt whatever he likes to, but idk how to start a new conversation abt what I want to talk abt. I don't wanna interrupt him when he's talking cuz that's just not polite, but it's,, it's more like I can't than I won't tbh? Like I physically can't interrupt him.

And even if I wasn't interrupting, like if there's a silence in the conversation, idek how to start the conversation I want to start. How do I even phrase it that I wanna talk abt a thing now? I can't even say "ooh I just remembered that I wanted to tell you" cuz I didn't just remember, I wanted to tell him even before that morning but I just do not know how to put it into the conversation.

one of the members felix is apparently bi so !!!! i love him !!!! -H (he never explicitly said it but someone asked what his ideal type was& he asked if they meant for boys or girls& then described both so) (i mean he also might not be i don't wanna assume or anything so im just kinda sitting here& quietly believing while also not at the same time yknow) (also he's so so pretty !!! u could just search up felix stray kids rq& see but he has freckles !! excuse me while i cry !!!!)

theres also chan& i love him !!!! hes got that gives rly good hugs vibe so my only goal in life is for him to hug me pls chan ily. he was recently doing a live& someone asked him what they should do bc theyre on their period or smth& he said "ppl with periods" rather than just "girls" which was !! so nice& inclusive im crying !! -H (also him& felix r from australia so they speak fluent english so this isnt a rough translation or anything !!its just what he said i would die for him !!)

That’s what I did lol, I’m only getting into the books and games because I started hyperfixating very strongly, lol. It’s not, like, a requirement, I just really enjoy them (and really any Witcher content lol), so I decided to get into them. But yeah, no background knowledge needed, if you wanna get into it!

But I don’t know much K-pop, I really only know BTS because my younger sibling is really into their music (and I know more about them from you, of course, but I knew about BTS beforehand because of my sibling lol)

HELLO I need to know more about your librarians and your universe as a whole infodump it on me

HI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME !!!!!!!! MAKE YUORSELF AT HOME FRIEND. ILL TELL YOU ABOUT THINGS

ill give u the super basics of the very simple things i have brainstormed .which is really mainly 2 big cities that have got like a light/dark theme respectively each for a different god (yet to be redesigned F) . the dArk City is called Sanctum and the light city is Haven. Sanctum was overthrown(?) at some point by a guy who somehow siphoned the the dark god’s power (god of which i lovingly refer to as hubert) and the city became a ghost town.. literally (and a monster town), so in the “present” there is currently only that one major city, Haven and the other one’s haunted and everyone is Dead and Evil there but they want to become alive again yknow

this whole universe actually started with me making a Cult that i eventually situated right outside Haven in a Dark Forest I Forget The Name Of, led my Morgan “Mour” Vapeiros who spoilers is son of the Guy That Stole God Power but he doesnt know it, he was created by magical means and that God somehow broke free from the Bad Guy when Morgan was born and essentially lives inside Morgans body and kinda ?? secretly influences him to make a cult that will allow her to take her own form again and i havent decided how it wil happen. i was just super into lovecraftian stuff when i made this

anyways to go more towards the LIBRARIAN stuff, one of the smoller librarians is a little blue elf named Lunick who appropriately is an astronomer situated at Haven’s palace ,he’s like supposedly the smartest guy there and he is !! but he’s super nervous all the time and almost cant handle working at such an illustrious place but he’s hanging in there. i say he’s a librarian only because he tends to the palace’s library there only when he’s got free time, but he adores hanging out at the library more than anywhere anyhow !

now if we move on to the shitty librarians we can travel back in time before Sanctum was sacked and u will find Atlas. i have to say with a heavy heart he’s not very normal at all and is probably the polar opposite of everything Lunick is. first and foremost he is a harpy as u have probably noticed, he’s a big giant owl. harpys in the universe have proven time and time again they just do literally whatever they want. so he decided to appoint himself the head librarian of Sanctum’s libraries (if there are multiple ones he controls them as well, but as of now i think he focuses on the largest one. its a small city after all). he knows how to use illusory magick so he appears as an “elf” to appear i guess less conspicuous, not that he cares what elfs think of him but itd make things easier as opposed to him being a 9 foot tall owl monster (he also needs elf hands to be able to write things down and stuff). now you’d think someone would stop him from just walking into a library and claiming it as his own but nobody did and everybody is too afraid of him to make him leave. atlas’ goal is to read every single book and know everything so he makes other people feel bad for being stupid 

anyways that’’s kind of the most basic of summaries for the universe besides the library stuff. theres of course more places than the Two Cities, like Fish Salem and Dragon Home and Totally Not Moomin Valley and Underwater Adventure, and im thinking abt some East Asia-inspired zones for probably the distant future !! i just didnt wanna go into super detail bc the post is long enough as it is and i know itd burn me out, but pls if u ever wanna know about a specific thing or place or character feel free to drop by again !!!! thank u : D

by the way its library related so ill put it here. i am currently building sanctum’s librowly in mine craft, as i intend to do with most notable buildings in this universe

u would be surprised how much easier it is to design buildings using this game as opposed to anything else

YES I LOVE YOU i’ve infodumped abt her once before which can be found RIGHT HERE and idk how much more i’ve got without spoiling her whole arc for potential party members that see my tumblr so i’ll recount some of her Memorable Moments from her campaign so far!!!! (under the cut bc i got carried away)

she tried to cheat the kobold dmpc in a game of go-fish (it was the only card game that pebblebelly knew) but ended up getting smoked. it was a little humiliating. pebble tried to swipe her cards, chariot saved high enough, and pebble gave her a silver buckle as an apology. turns out it was from a dragon’s hoard so chariot’s never letting go of That

on the first night after defeating some bandits with her new group of acquaintances, they heard a ruckus downstairs in the inn lobby and saw a group of fish people with small boys in nets. chariot cast ice knife at one of the two fish holding the net but unfortunately ice knife is a spell that explodes upon impact and the boy in the net rolled a big fat critical miss to dodge it. so chariot’s an [accidental] child murderer

party ended up following the fish tracks down a well just outside the inn. it wasn’t necessary but she made sure she stored her fancy cloak and fine clothing in a bush, because she absolutely was not going to get that wet 

after losing half her HP slipping down the pipe to get into the well she and her party found a pool of water in the caverns. three people went in. chariot sat down and filed her nails while one of the fighters started freaking out about how long they’d been down there. “oh good, they’re not dead” was her response when they finally surfaced about a minute and a half later

pebblebelly (kobold dmpc) got snatched up by something in the ceiling and rather than help, chariot used her mage hand to poke at as many of its eyes as she could. it worked, somehow

we found more boys and more fishpeople. heavy-hitters rushed to help. chariot stayed behind with one of the fighters and examined a pot of orange liquid in the middle of the room. the liquid evaporated a knife. the fighter dipped her knife in the liquid and poked her finger. she suddenly couldn’t breathe and chariot chastised her later for grabbing at her so tightly she bruised. empathy 0

Not As Funny but after the fighter pricked her finger she started to hear a voice in her head which then made itself known in everyone else’s head and it poked a whole lotta fun at chariot and the people she trusts..! paladin dmpc warned us not to talk to it but lo and behold later that night chariot had a conversation, called this voice in her head that claimed to be older than gods a coward, and demanded a physical sign if it wanted her respect

it told her to go upstream

chariot didn’t tell anyone what she was doing but she went upstream

i can’t say what happened exactly but she got real mad at that voice and called it a coward and a liar and threatened to dismiss its presence as nothing more than a hysterical side effect of a poorly ventilated cave if she didn’t get something better soon. she called its methods bullshit. she insulted it quite a bit actually

oops! that was a mistake

walk down the last tunnel and become confronted by more fish people and the innkeep but he was like really sick. the voice possessed him and told chariot that if she wanted to talk face to face this was as good as it got. she got some empathy and sense knocked into her and demanded that they find another way but then a wicked lobster thing from hell came bursting out of his skin. chariot dealt like 28 damage in one hit to it which felt REAL GOOD

haven’t heard from the voice since, after it told them that it would kill them all in due time like ants by the waves of life or something

time to go to waterdeep for a quest > leads to a Bonfire Episode!!!! our barbarian and one of our fighters took down a wild boar so we had pork and told stories by the fire. chariot told them she was turned to stone for three days because wizards are poor losers, party monk claimed gamblers were poor losers too (at which chariot laughed bc it’s true) and one of our fighters asked if she did anything like that when she lost. chariot asked if she was volunteering to find out, the fighter foolishly said yes, chariot reached out for a handshake and made her take 4 damage with shocking grasp and got her hand to go numb. we both got inspiration points for that

we found out the dmpc wizard fucked a dragon. this has nothing to do with chariot but it’s a detail worth mentioning

we reached waterdeep’s gates and saw everyone else handing the guards papers, which we didn’t have, so instead chariot held out her signet ring with her uncle’s business’ crest on it and they were Immediately allowed inside and even offered an escort to her estate (which is funney…. bc she’s never had an estate in waterdeep !)

party now knows How Rich She Is uh oh! they got her to say she might take them back to neverwinter to visit her estate sometime later but she is a little wary since Half The Party Is Criminals (or at least accused of being so)

unfortunately as soon as they got inside waterdeep everyone that caught sight of her scrambled out of her way looking terrified. she asked a man for an address and when she thanked him for information he Bolted. party monk made a joke about how High and Mighty she was, but chariot didn’t take it so well. it hurts a little bit when no one even knows who you are but they’re terrified of you. being a rich tiefling can be a daunting prospect for a couple different reasons but it’s worse here than most places and she doesn’t really know why

that’s all the Honourable Mentions so far but we play again on wednesday when we get to wander down into a basement full of things that keep attacking the real estate agent so we’ll see what happens next ! (there wouldve been more for me to say but character arc spoilers…!)
