this is not weird at all and I'm actually obsessed with this. I'm not a perfume expert but HEAR ME OUT - nelle probably isn't a huge wearer of sweet gourmand scents in general. because she's surrounded by so much sugar all day (and usually smells of it as a result of her job), I imagine she'd probably be sick of the sweet by the time she's getting ready to go out. (that said, I think joel is a BIG FAN of when she smells all sweet from the bakery, so I can imagine her having one sweeter perfume she saved for special occasions that, let's be so for real rn, he definitely goes feral for)

but for a go-to scent when she gets dolled up (she probably only has the two bottles tbh - little toddler ellie knocked one off a counter and shattered it way back when and nelle downsized immediately to what could fit in her tiny bathroom cabinets) I imagine she might gravitate toward muskier scents - not woodsy like pine, but maybe smoky? tobacco, white musk, black pepper, maybe a touch of bergamot for a sweeter note mixed in there? I'm shooting in the dark here, but that feels right. and if you asked joel, he'd still swear she smells sweet.

Llu Guang seemed extra dead inside this episode. Ngl, I was super surprised he encouraged Cheng Xiaoshi to reach out to Vein. I would think he would want Cheng Xiaoshi 4689642445790 thousand miles from him. Is he really that desperate that he's willing to risk this for a chance to save Cheng Xiaoshi? Also his thinking 'maybe it's time to make some changes' is definitely another thing that makes me think this is AT LEAST attempt number two.
