Why are ppl scared to call it what it is and say we’re still going thru covid on top of seasonal illness. Like. That’s pretty important right. I was watching the news and they were like oh yeah we have an unprecedented number of flu cases “as well as other sicknesses” without actually saying Covid. No announcement abt vaccinations or masking or anything. Also if I hear someone joking abt “war flashbacks” for mentioning covid I fucking hate u

#source: most of my family members are nurses and it was so bad for one of them they had to be put on a ventilator. in the hospital they #worked at. looking back I think I had a reason to feel a little offput by the shows of support early pandemic #with people tying blue ribbons around trees and lighting signs blue to support healthcare workers #I get that it was supposed to be moral support when we couldn’t do anything but follow health advisories #and it did matter to make them feel uplifted and do something than nothing. im not gonna deny that #but. you can still help now. u know that right. you still have a responsibility here #u can still mask up. u can still get vaxxed and call in sick to avoid infecting others #don’t leave it on healthcare workers to pick up the pieces just because they were doing it before. do u think they had a choice?#nobody likes picking up the slack for someone else and now that we have more tools to do smth couldn’t we just. do it????#im not a virologist but i also feel like continuing to let it get worse by letting more mutations develop #could continue to set us back since this virus is pretty good at fucking us up long term and finding new ways to do that #while there are ppl still researching covid which is STILL A RELATIVELY NEW VIRUS. and studying possible treatment and cures #yapping #vent

#had a pretty bad weekend #my parents visited and i was excited at the beginning #we ended up having a big fight because i think they come. deliver stuff. and then leave #which like im grateful for but i want to do stuff with them. rather than be on our phones in close proximity #they got angry because they say im ungrateful for the effort they make and dont want to go out and spend money #and i said i have money now i can contribute #especially cuz it was yknow. fathers day and my moms bday like two days later #nothing got resolved and they left right away as usual #and today (fathers day) it was 4 pm and i hadnt called my dad yet and i got a pretty heinous message from my mom #she called me out for not calling my dad yet (fair) but said that now that i have money theres no need for such empty pleasantries #im crying while writing this #i obviously lost it on her like wtf does that has to do with anything. i was offering because i wanted to celebrate and connect #and she turned my offering into whatever that was #im honestly heartbroken #i already had the inkling that she resented me for having my own money but still #for the first time ever i had to block her #since she doubled down and whatever #this year has been so hard for me even though so good things have happened. me graduating and the job #i just feel so alone #im ranting here because i dont feel like i can tell anyone about this #maybe it is true that im childish and ungrateful #i dont know #i was planning to go visit this weekend because i miss my dog so fucking bad but now #i dont want to be around anyone #idk how im gonna plaster my usual peppy exterior for tomorrow #i feel like shit

thinking about Julie going into hibernation, but also how she was participating in winter activities and was at the Homewarming party.

obv an in-universe excuse is writing inconsistency within the show but nahh. i wanna get sad.

My headcanon is that Julie begins hibernation after the Homewarming party. Right after. And later in the evening it turns into a different party, Julie's Goodnight Party (name in progress).

It's fun, because any party with this rainbow monster's name in it is gonna be fun! but there's an underlying somberness. They eat, play games and talk about everything and anything like the Homewarming party, but it just feels different.

(continues below, sad warning bc I made myself sad)

When Julie starts getting sleepy, the party ends with her neighbors giving their farewells, goodnights, and big hugs.

Frank is the one to walk her home, of course. He brushes Julie's hair, makes sure her and her nest has everything she needs, and stays with her as she falls asleep. But not before they share a big, comforting, long hug filled with every unspoken "I'll miss you" and every ounce of love they can pour into it.

It's the longest Frank has ever hugged anybody. "A hug long enough to get him through winter," according to Julie.

He wished that were true.

Either way he smiles, he smiles for Julie as it's the last expression she sees before finally closing her eyes to sleep.

The tears that later soaked into his pillow are the only secret Frank's ever kept from his best friend.

#After taking Eddie home this past holiday Frank nearly missed Julie going home. I have a flight at 5:35am, which is the first flight of the day I guess, and no one is here. Just me and a janitor I saw awhile ago and haven't seen since. I understand I'm 5 hours early but I'm anxious and also this was the latest anyone would bring me. But idk what to do now. I feel very awkward just hanging out. The only person in the airport. It's incredibly liminal.

#just in a chair next to the dark desks #my luggage next to me #the doors are open and lights are on but i feel like i shouldnt be here #its a strange time #my anxiety has been so constantly present that it's rolled over into feeling nothing #i forgot my phone charger in my sibling's car after they dropped me off and i did get scared then #but they brought it back so now im chilling #the janitor didnt tell me to leave when i first saw him so i think im okay to just hang out but it still feels very strange #its 12:30 right now. i have my flight at 5:30. then a 1.5 hour layover. second flight. pick up my rental car #drive to camp training that i will be 3-4 hours late for. then do training until literally 9pm #theyre very full days #i havent been asleep since 9am. 15 hours ago. and i dont anticipate much sleep in the next 15 hours either #its gonna be a good time

My interests tend to come in intense bursts and then fade. Unless something like, big happens like it gets a reboot its unlikely I'll be coming back to it anytime soon. As for the fic I don't have any current plans to finish it unfortunately.
