you snort at his stupid comparison, and it actually puts your mind at ease a bit. it doesn’t surprise you that him and logan get up to this kinda thing when you’re not around. in fact, you’re actually flattered to be allowed to take part in it. to take advantage of him like this.

“Wade,” your voice rang through the apartment, the noise bouncing off the walls until it reached the mutant you called out to. The merc emerged from the kitchen, with his arms crossed over his chest and a small smirk on his lips he eyed you up and down. “Babycakes,” the older man teased in return, the skin where his eyebrow would be located if he were to have body hair lifted up.

With your sketchbook under your arm and Logan by your side - you ignored the fact that you were dragging that man through your apartment like a dog on a very short leash, he followed suit and didn’t seem like he was having a bad time. Really, the opposite appeared to be the case. Not that it mattered in that very moment. “I need your body,” you blurted out, not even thinking about how wrong those words could come across - especially if you considered that it was Wade fucking Wilson you were talking to, there was no chance this man wouldn’t notice the double meaning of the words just spoken by you.

“Straight to the point, I see,” the merc seemed quite delighted by your choice of words as he pushed off the doorframe and started to walk towards you and Logan, that sly smirk on his lips didn’t fall for even a second. Red took a hold of the hem of his sweater and without a care in the world he pulled it over his head and let it drop to the floor. And really, it wasn’t like you’ve never seen Wade naked, the man could be quite confident about his body if only he wanted to. And yet your eyes were glued to his naked torso the moment the fabric revealed scared skin to not only your view, but also Logan’s. Who exhaled a little heavier than needed at the sight of the shirtless merc. “That’s not what he-” Logan began to speak, the older mutant clearly wanted to explain to Wade that he could keep his clothes on for that, wanted to tell Wade that naked skin wasn’t needed. But before he could ruin this sight for you, your hand covered his mouth and therefore muffled his words, “Sh, sh, sh, lemme have that.”

The merc only smirked at that sight, moving to unbutton his pants as well and really who were you to stop your boyfriend from undressing? Instead of telling Wade to keep his clothes on, you turned towards Logan instead, an eyebrow raised at your other boyfriend as if silently asking why he wasn’t getting undressed too. Logan grunted, the gruff man batted your hand from the collar of his shirt and with a silent roll of his eyes he also started to strip out of the fabric that covered his skin. “Thought you wanted to learn anatomy,” the brunette mutant grumbled as he tossed his shirt onto the nearby table. His eyes were scanning Wade’s body - it was clear that you weren’t the only one enjoying the view that the mercenary delivered. And you really couldn’t blame the wolverine mutant, not when Wade was a feast for the eyes with all those muscles that stretched over his fit body and the cocky smile his lips had curled into.

“And I thought you were horny,” Red almost purred as he moved over to the same table Logan had tossed his shirt onto. Acting as if they were in a movie - or for that matter maybe even a shitty porn - he swept all the things covering the wooden surface of the table right off of it, clearing it in one smooth motion before he himself laid down on top of it in a somewhat seductive pose. With his eyes constantly on his lovers Wade shifted, exposing more of his body with every change of position. “Wanna draw me like this?” he asked, laying on his side with his hand on his hip and his head propped up on his other hand. “Or like that?” Wade continued, sitting up. One of his hands rested on the center of his chest, the other covered his crotch - or at least he pretended to do so because the man’s private parts were quite visible, regardless of what the pose suggested.

Logan only rolled his eyes again, his attitude remained somewhat grumpy as he pushed Wade to the side to sit down next to him. Compared to the merc, the wolverine remained somewhat dressed - means he was at least wearing boxershorts. Even if those did little to hide anything, you were able to see what you wanted to see and while it seemed Logan had decided to simply keep it a little decent, you knew that the older mutant was aware of how revealing his underwear was. Logan was aware how good his body looked and what sort of effect it had on you and Wade most of the time, little he did to rile you up was done unintentionally.

“Just- geez,” you mumbled under your breath. Your hands clenched around the pen in your hand, the sketchbook pressed firmly against your chest as you watched the two men you were dating doing their very best to distract you from the original plan of drawing them. “C’mon baby,” Wade hummed in a tone that was way too suggestive, way too deep to be taken casual. “Use your words.” And oh, how you hated that you loved what those words did to you. Yes, Wade was a flirt, so was Logan which really wasn’t a big help. But that. That he was doing full on purposely, doing his best to take your mind off of the drawing, to guide your thoughts to something dirtier, something that still included both of them. Your eyes darted between Logan’s muscular tits - the man was moving his muscles subtle enough to let you believe it was done unintentionally, yet enough to make them bounce a little - and Wade’s poorly hidden crotch.

It felt as if breathing was getting harder with how thick the air was, the sight of both of your lovers so on display had your body running hot and your mind coming up with fantasies so delicious, it caused your own boxershorts to soak in the slick of arousal that your body produced. Your pupils were wide and your tongue darted out to wet your lips. And before you were fully aware of what was happening and where this road was leading you - and them - your sketchbook fell onto the floor, landing right on top of Logan’s shirt while your pen rolled over the hardwood, right underneath the couch. i have no problem with HC characters as trans, but I feel like a lot of people only hc trans because they want the Character to be 'straight' (I KNOW ITS NOT STRAIGHT, HARD TO EXPLAIN BUT I GUESS HETERO SEX??) some way or another- romance 'straight' or sex 'straight'.

With some characters, it makes sense- sparrow? I think he's cis but I LOVE A GOOD TRANSFEM SPARROW. but wolverine? I have never come across a single thing that makes Logan trans for anything but sex reasons.

It's totally fine to do, but I wish there was an actual good fic of him realizing, telling the other X-Men, and growing to be the wolverine we know and love.

I love trans rep in media, but I wish we had more trans rep for character purposes, not just sex purposes. If anyone can find a fic for trans Logan (or wade) where it's his actual trans journey, I would love to hear it (preferable without smut bc I don't like reading that)

I'd been thinking of voicing him for weeks since I've always loved him and I've loved seeing the flurry of art and fics for him after Deadpool & Wolverine's release. But I felt too insecure about my voice and dysphoric to try and voice a big, beefy, gruff man... So be nice, bear in mind this is a trans guy who's not on T trying to do this voice, I am sort of scared that new people will find this audio and pick on my voice or dislike that I'm trans but we'll deal with that if it happens, hopefully it doesn't but I've had my fair share of horrible experiences with Marvel fans. Though, am loving when people headcannon/draw/write Logan as a trans man, that's been really meaningful to see. I think most characters that get headcannoned as trans men can often be shorter, slimmer, more androgynous men and it's less often we see big, beefy, stereotypically masculine characters get the trans headcannons with with both Logan and the Call of Duty boys getting those headcannons sometimes it's been really nice to see.

Its a common refrain from people in fandom spaces, especially comic book fandom spaces, to try to tell queer people to "make our own characters" whenever we even tentatively suggest queer representation in characters we like. Probably the biggest example of this phenomenon is Peter Parker Spider-Man, because Stan Lee explicitly made basically this exact argument as an excuse to avoid confirming anything and it was later revealed that Marvel made it essentially contractually impossible for Sony to depict him as anything other than a cisgender heterosexual man.

The problem with this mentality is that we've tried it, and it doesn't work.

Sticking with the Spider-Man example, there actually is a gay Spider-Man. He's completely segregated off into his own universe, but he does exist.

Or at least, he existed for a brief period where he was a supporting character in the Spider-Verse event he debuted in and then he disappeared completely.

These characters don't stick, especially when they're in their own separate universe so they don't have to touch the main continuity. Don't believe me? Alright, I'll bite. How many solo books in their own universe, without multiverse shenanigans to distract from the plot, do characters like Web Weaver and Sun Spider have? Hell, how many times have they appeared at all since the most recent Spider-Verse event ended a full year ago?

That's right, none!

We can't make our own characters, because nobody but us is going to put in time and effort to engage with those characters. Which means once the series we made the character in, for all intents and purposes that character is in the can as well. This is even worse with alternate universe comics, which are significantly less long running than the main continuity. Hell, Spider-Gwen and Miles had to leave their original universes and assimilate into 616 continuity so Marvel could justify their continued consistent use. And they still haven't used Gwen in a year.

Also, I don't think you guys realize how exhausting it is having to basically constantly rely on alternate universe variations to see ourselves represented in characters we already like and are invested in. We're not good enough for the main continuity, but sure in this one-off alternate universe Wolverine can kiss a guy. Sure, in this one limited run continuity we can kind of imply that Black Canary is maybe a trans woman depending on your interpretation. Hoped you liked gay Colossus and the accidental trans metaphor of Jessica Drew while you got them because we're literally destroying this universe now. Its constant consolation prizes and never allowing us to actually see ourselves in the big players the writers can't just choose to ignore.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

Since Morph has become Tumblr-popular (and I am SO happy about that), I have seen a lot of people who interpret Morph's "can copy other mutants' physical abilities" in X-Men 97 to mean "Morph could potentially copy any mutant's power," and that's really not how it works. I'm not gonna ruin people's fun when they are playing around with the idea in fanfic, but Morph is a shapeshifter, not a power mimic. Actual power mimics in the comics, like Synch, Mimic, Hope and Rogue can use other mutants' powers, Morph can't. Technically Morph isn't really copying other mutant powers, they are using shapeshifting to give themselves certain abilities like flight or strength, and transforming into other mutants so that animators can throw in cameos. They don't HAVE to turn into Angel to give themselves wings, they could just shapeshift wings. In fact, that's usually what AoA/Exiles Morph does in the comics, even when "turning into" other people as a gag he keeps his base form. My headcanon is that Morph finds it easier to use other mutants as a template for physical characteristics like wings or claws. I'd also love to see an arc where Morph learns to shapeshift multiple characteristics of other mutants (like Wolverine's claws, Colossus metal skin, Angel's wings) without fully turning into anyone, and it's both greater mastery of their powers and also Morph learning more confidence and self-acceptance.

I think X-Men 97 really muddied the waters by directly stating that Morph can "copy physical characteristics" without explaining what that means. Turning into Quicksilver for superspeed was especially stretching it, and although I love making Morph more powerful, I was like "Bullshit," at that scene. The show really should have tossed in an "explainer" somewhere, like maybe newcomer Sunspot asks Morph how their powers work, and Morph explains. That could have also gotten into why Morph appears more powerful in 97, and their changed appearance, another thing I wish the show had addressed.

The existence of Shinobi Shaw, canonically the abused son of a supervillain, strongly implied to be bi, a rich and handsome "bad boy" who could easily be sympathetic, he would absolutely do numbers on Tumblr if a comic or show would just bring him to people's attention.

*Everyone else does not include you, obviously.

Also - Stevie Hunter - Kitty Pryde/the New Mutants' dance instructor, one of the few human allies of the X-Men that hasn't been killed or turned against them. Kind, strong, brave as hell, I want her back in comics, but I also don't, for fear that she would get killed off.

Also that time that Madelyne Pryor was given healing powers by Loki and called herself Anodyne and wanted to help people, but that's been far overshadowed by Goblin Queen Maddie.

Oh, and apparently in one of the X-Men novels written by Claremont, Frenzy is secretly a fan of Pyro's books.

Oooooh boy, I have several. I'll leave aside the useful conservative bullshit that springs up whenever a character happens to be gay, trans, a PoC, etc., we've all been through the usual nonsense of "I have nothing against characters being gay, I'm just going to pick apart and find fault with every gay character in comics." That's old hat.

But for X-Men:

Arguments about Jean/Logan, Jean/Scott, Emma/Scott just seem to bring out the worst in everyone. Personally, I hate Jean/Logan, and I'm meh on Emma/Scott, but arguments always devolve into a character bashing, especially Emma vs. Jean. Why pit two queens against each other? They are both great.

Certain X-Fans have obviously not read any Marvel comics outside the X-Men, and love to bash on groups that have been set up against the X-Men in any event, like Avengers or Inhumans (and we all know that big events crossovers like AvX or IvX are generally pretty stupid forced conflict). I know writers have "called out" the Avengers for not doing more to help mutants, but what exactly do fans want? Do you want the Avengers to come flying in and solve every problem the X-Men face? Then there would be complaints about the Avengers dominating X-Men books. We all know why the Avengers can't save mutants whenever there's yet another massacre, it's because the X-Men's whole thing is "feared and hated," and it would ruin stories if the Avengers fixed everything. It's the awkwardness of these characters existing in a shared universe, I just accept that the Avengers are usually busy with their own stories in their own books. And while I can understand the frustration of X-Fans during the Inhumans push, as a fan of both groups I have limited sympathy for people still wanting to dance on the Inhumans' graves years afterwards. God forbid the X-Men not be the center of Marvel publishing for a brief time, or that the Inhumans actually get a few books of their own.

"Child soldiers." This is another one that writers have tried to address in-book, but to me it's about as silly as treating Sailor Moon, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or the Power Rangers as "child soldiers." Is Zordon a manipulative child abuser because he specifically asked for "teenagers with attitude"? Or do we accept this as a power-fantasy for kids, just like the 60's X-Men comics generally were? If anything, Xavier has a greater excuse for recruiting teens than other super-heroes, mutants usually gain their powers at puberty and that puts them in immediate danger. And fandom only ever seems to drag Xavier for the X-Men being "child soldiers," even though Cable was actively turning the New Mutants into a paramilitary group in the 90's. Meanwhile, Xavier actually seemed to grow and change from the 60's, since he actively tried to keep Kitty Pryde and the New Mutants out of danger instead of sending them into the field. The X-Men have always recruited and endangered teens, even when Xavier is retired or dead.

Related to the above, the "Professor Xavier is a jerk," thing. And I don't even like Xavier much, but he gets dragged more and held to higher standards than characters who were actual villains and mass murderers. Xavier has done some incredibly shitty things, but fandom seems to love cherry-picking all his worst moments, or even just panels where he appears to be a jerk, completely devoid of context. Some common arguments are just wrong, like people claiming that Xavier "abandoned the New Mutants to go bang Lilandra," which is just blatantly NOT what happened in the comics. If you want a story about Xavier abandoning his students and leaving them in the hands of a former terrorist, the whole Changeling story is much more fucked up, Xavier actively chose to not only have Changeling stand in for him, he gave Changeling some of his telepathic powers. And they didn't even have the long-standing friendship of Xavier and Magneto, so there's no reason for trust there. If we're going to drag Xavier for his many sins, let's at least drag him for what he's actually done.

I have not done many headcanons/ scenarios, but I’m willing to do more. I could also be willing to do multiple characters in these as well.

Yes, I love reusing prompts. Not because I’m lazy and want easy writings. But because I love exploring how different characters react to the same situation.

I will, and have, written for a different assortment of gendered readers. The one thing is I would prefer not to write trans readers because I do not understand how to write that. It is not something I’m familiar with.

I’m sure there will be characters that I won’t do from different fandoms. But I will let you know if I do.

See, this is why I don't like X-23 used as 'proof' that Wolverine is trans because she's a clone- She isn't white. In the cartoon she was created for it's heavily implied her egg/gene donor is the scientist that made her- a blonde woman with brown skin. In later adaptations, to make her look more like Logan I guess, they just turned her white and no one remembered her original design

a comment got me wondering just how bad marvel whitewashed X-23 since her original appearance in X-Men: Evolution and YIKES
