Did a ride-along in a fire truck today and I happened to schedule it on the day of a parade

Some woman walked out in front of the truck while we were moving at a snail’s pace and the driver said something like “oh that’s a great idea”

So I muttered “bad form” (as in ‘a gymnast has bad form in their routine’ ie, the lady has bad form in keeping herself safe) into the headset real casually

The fire medic sitting next to me (my sister in law lmao) snapped her head over to look at me with the widest eyes I had ever seen her make. Like seriously she is unflappable, the most hardcore lady I know. she’s one of the few fire medics comfortable with drilling IO (intraosseous: fluid administration via bone marrow) routes prehospital and she’s looking at me proper shocked, like I’d sucker punched a family member. saying “Whoaaaa, holy shit! I didn’t think you had it in you to say that!”

“Bad form? Bad form, I said bad form.”

“I heard you call her fat whore.”

The rest of the 9 hours in my ride along, everyone in the firehouse kept calling each other fat whore
