Angelus looked up from the book he had been pretending to read - an excuse to ignore the young vampires whining. Dark eyes narrowed as he let the book drop from his fingers to land with a heavy thump on the floor. “And what else do you need?” he demanded, standing from the chaise. He wasn’t going to deny the accusation and was clearly offended by the idea that she wanted more. On the days she annoyed him the most he did not even think she deserved the new life with them that she had been given. Perhaps Darla had been right when she said they should get rid of her. But then he'd have to deal with Dru's inevitable meltdown. He crossed the room in a few long strides, stopping within inches of the blonde, close enough that he had to look down. “You have everything you need. The world has been opened up to you like it never would have before, and yet you still complain. You want more? More what?”

The look in the other vampire’s eyes sent a sick thrill coursing through Darla’s body. It was the same thrill she got any time her fledglings were so obviously upset about something. But with Amethyst it was always just a little bit sweeter. The poor girl was soul sick. And now more than ever Darla understood the tense pain behind her eyes. It made her happier to be free of it.

yea i was askin abt just the nucleus run hehe not overall crystal hollows-bal and precursors are my main struggle, so good to know abt hits bein what matters and alternative methods for automaton bits <-absolute shit damage from my . leaping sword adn 23 combat hehe Will definitely try to nab that- im actually pretty sure? that ive maybe? gotten 500 commisions and am actually close to 750 not 500 now ,i just havent collected the rewards for 500(from waiting for skill exp boost hehe) so that's a Big Plus - the goblin stuff i have had. bad luck with structure generation but done alright figuring out, but lobby hopping utilization i have been .lacking in ... i believe i did the temple once? Anyways- question, i dont know yet bc.i havent done stuff yet . but crystal nucleus runs- do they have any kinda timer..? i believe ive got a solid jade and capabilities for uh. amber..? and amythest? i think? (goblin n temple) but the others have been beyond me for some time ... Anyways, do you go to the nucleus and like 'input' the gems to start the run? and is there therefore every possibility to do the incredibly slow route of getting each gem over time and then eventuallly turnin em all in at once.? ty tho v much for advice hehe i thiiiink ive got a nice few (few) wishing compasses that will tide me over just fine, but . yyea :]

getting the crystals for the nucleus is kinda all at once. once you get uhh jade for instance, your status on having jade will change. even if you place it, you'll still be listed as "having jade" until the nucleus is complete and all 5 of them disappear. trying to get the same crystal again will pop up the message "you've already found this crystal" or something like that

there's no timer for it, you can just hold onto the gems for a while placed or not. you can hop lobbies and stuff and all the gems will still be yours until a run is completed

Destober: Day 2, Vanguard

"Thera! May I speak to you a moment?" Ikora called out after spotting the young wolf walking across the bazaar.

"Of course," Thera, who had previously been on her was to the Drifter to collect gambit bounties, replied, then walked over to the warlock vanguard. "What is it that you need?" She spoke professionally, most likely guessing this was an assignment she was about to go on.

"You've been working a lot lately Thera and well... I worry for you. I believe you need a break from the fighting for a few hours. So, I'd like to request that you join Zavala and I to a walk in the City where we'll be checking on the citizens and such." Then she added with a smile, "And, as an addition to this invitation, Zavala has agreed to pay for supper at the end of the day."

"I-I suppose I could." She wouldn't be doing much else, and it was very rare that she got to spend much time with either vanguard. "Casual clothes?" She asked.

"We'll be wearing our casual. We intend to take breaks ourselves. Saint-14 and Shaxx will be watching the Tower in our absense for the day."

"Alright." Thera nodded. "When will I meet you?"

"The elevator in twenties minutes."

"See you then."

Twenty minutes later, on the dot, Thera met with Ikora by the elevators that led down to the City below. The warlock vanguard was now wearing fitting grey pants, a white blouse with a purple cardigan, and black boots. It was so weird for Thera, seeing her without her normal robes on. She couldn't remember a time in which she had ever seen her in anything different.

"Where's Zavala?" Thera inquired, looking around.

Ikora sighed. "Late. He always shows up on time to meetings, but for a walk in the City he decides to take his time."

Thera leaned against the metal railing. She wore an outfit made of black denim jeans, a light purple shirt tucked into said jeans with a hunter snake emblazened across it, along with a black leather jacket and black leather ankle boots. A top her head rested light purple aviator sunglasses, and on her ears, worn for the first time in forever, hung amythest stone earrings.

Zavala arrived a few minutes later than the two women. He wore black pants and a beige cashmere sweater. Peeking up from the sweater was the white collar of a button down shirt. It was also so different seeing Zavala without the bulky titan armor.

Thera straightened, arms crossed over her chest.

"Ready to go now, Commander?" Ikora asked, gesturing to the elevator.

"Ladies first."

Both Thera and Ikora entered the elevator with Zavala behind them. In no time they were on the City streets. People came from their homes to stop and wave at them. A few vendors who had set up in the streets gave them deals. Thera ended up with a small bag of taffy, 50% off. She usually didn't get this type of attention, she didn't go into the City much. She was surprised really with how many people knew her as the Young Wolf, and how many ran to her when the Vanguard was right there beside her. She had always seen them more liked than her by the City civilians. Children ran up to Zavala arms reaching in the air, wanting to be picked up and put on his shoulders. Little girls and boys ran up to talk to Ikora, and she crouched down to their height to speak with them, kindly and softly. Thera, without much knowledge about what to do with younger children despite having taken part in a few dodgeball games with Shaxx and Ann, followed the vanguards' lead. She gave each one she came across a piece of her taffy, and at one point a young boy came up to her with two wooden swords, wanting to play with her.

Thera took it and laughed with the child as she gave light blows to the boy and then dramatically fell back when he stabbed her in the stomach with the blunt wooden weapon as the children around them laughed and cheered.

The three also took their time to talk with the adult civilians, asking questions such as whether there was anything they should work on to make the City better. Thera got rather angry when a few mentioned passive aggressive statements about the House Light, but brushed it off quickly. It was one thing to get angry at a Guardian, another entirely to show aggression towards a civilian. Guardians could come back from a punch in the face, these people could not.

Thera took mostly to speaking with the teenagers, especially the shy ones who looked longingly at the three celebrities practically who walked along the City streets. She gave a few autographs, took a few pictures, and at the end of the day Zavala took Ikora and Thera to Cayde's favorite ramen restaurant.

"I had no idea the people loved me that much, especially the children." Thera said after slurping down another bite of ramen.

"Oh they adore you." Replied Ikora. "They usually ask us when we're bringing you down to the City with us."

"Really?"

Zavala nodded. "While Ikora and I are the Vanguard, we handle the more diplomatic aspect. You on the other hand are a warrior who has done many great feats, more so than Ikora and I both."

"I highly doubt that."

"Either way, they are inspired by the tales told to them by their parents about you. Your devotion to the City and the great stories of your triumphs inspire them, Thera. Many wish to be like you."

Thera smiled a small smile. "I never knew. Perhaps I should come down to the City more often."

"The children would love that. We do try to do this once a month. I'll invite you."

Thera nodded as she took another bite. All was silent for a moment and then Thera asked, "Did Ann put you up to this, to invite me down to the City?"

Ikora smiled sheepishly. "Well, she did come to me asking for you to be let off. But the taking you down into the City with us was all my doing. That girl does a lot of good for you."

"That she does." Thera replied. "Wouldn't know what I'd do without her."

Ikora smiled solemnly. "Cayde used to say the same about you."

"He did?"

"He was always proud of you Thera, how far you've come in your life. He always said he wouldn't know what he'd if he didn't have you around." She chuckled lightly. "He said you made life more interesting, and quoting him, 'That you were one of the coolest hunters he's every had the honor of training.'."

Ikora's words touched Thera's heart and she smiled.

It wasn't much longer until they finished their food and left after giving a generous tip to their server. Then they were walking back to the Tower again, the sun setting beautifully behind them.

Hey, I’m 16 and I’m getting tested for autism next week. (Finally) and i was wondering what should i expect during the testing. Do they ask you a lot of questions about every part of your life or just specific parts of your life? And also, what are some good resources to check out about autism so I can learn more about it?

Hello! First of all congrats! I'm happy for you! And second I'm actually not the best person to ask what the diagnosis process is like. I was like 5 when I got diagnosed and I don't really remember the diagnosis process at all because of how young I was. I would suggest asking an autistic person who got diagnosed at an older age than I did.

As for your second question, I would first advise you to steer clear of sources like autism speaks as they're actually a really bad organization. Just talking to other autistic people in general is a good place to start. Also any autism group with a focus on self advocacy, like ASAN or the Autism Women and Nonbinary People's Network, is going to be a better resource than those that are allistic lead. Not to self advertise but I also have an autism focused youtube channel where I talk a lot about autism in media (you can find a link to my latest video pinned to the top of my blog currently). And my friend @lesmiserabby has a really good autism focused youtube channel as well (it's under the same name, so les miserabby). And Amythest Schaber's Ask an Autistic series on youtube is also really informative if you want to learn more about autism.

F - FLIRT ; do they flirt? If so how do they flirt?

not much, really. ayato will try to get both me and anyone else that overhears (cough thoma cough) flustered with little comments every now and then. sometimes it works, sometimes he becomes the butt of the joke. it's really cute to see him go all red faced and embarrassed. i have a really weird lipbite stim on occassion, so sending it his way is probably the closest i'll get to flirting >.<

L - LOVE ; when did they realize they were in love?

hmm, for me it was seeing how he treats everyone around him. he's fiercly protective, and kind as anything. he's just generally just a good person. for ayato, well, you'll have to ask him that.

O - OBJECT ; what’s something they have that reminds them of the other?

's a bit strange, but rocks. i'll pick up any cool-looking rocks, shell, amythest lumps — anything that looks pretty! i'm almost certain that each of ayato's pockets have at least a pebble in. (whichever housekeeper does the laundry knows to check them before washing it).

What are some clear signs of autism?

So, it’s kinda complicated to give you a clear cut answer, because autistic people share traits with other disabilities, who can sometimes be comorbid (such as ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder and so on). I’m myself not entirely sure if I’m not something else, besides being autistic.

Another thing to keep in mind is that autistic people are different and can have different traits. 

For example, I have a very delicate palate and can’t handle spicy food, while another autistic person might especially look for this kind of food because they crave the stimulation it causes, the taste or whatever. I can’t handle being at a concert because of the lights and the sound, but other autistic people might love the experience because of how intense it is.

With that said, I’ll share with you what led me to self-diagnose first, then to be diagnosed officially.

I always felt “off”. Not better or worse than other people, just different. I couldn’t quite comprehend most of my pairs and I tended to spend most of my time alone, reading or playing video games. I had a deep, deep interest in Harry Potter, esoterism and movies in general. I was tired easily when I interacted with other people and I was startled by loud noises and strong smells. I was also very socially anxious and had quite a rigid routine (still have). There were times when I didn’t understand why I was so stressed out or anxious, when nothing apparently “justified” it. I was also very prone to stimming (nail biting, hair munching, tapping things with my fingers, stuff like that). 

I didn’t have the “guidebook” to socialize with other people, so much that I was bullied and lost many friends without understanding why. Lots of autistic people have an experience with bullying, because Neurotypicals don’t usually have a great tolerance for different people, whatever that difference is.

I googled these traits out of curiosity and stumbled across a wiki page about autism. Coming across the #actuallyautistic community on Tumblr really helped me out to form my self-diagnosis.

When I was officially diagnosed, the medical staff looked at the way I was doing eye contact (which was poorly), asked my mother about stuff like echolalia (I tend to quote a lot of movies. When I was younger, I used to say the same sentences again and again when I came across some spots). 

They put me in a room with a camera and I interacted with a doctor for something like an hour. They noticed that I didn’t think to ask to get handed things for an exercise (because I was too focused on what I was doing), that I was looking for sensory stimulation (they handed me a stim toy and I apparently use it in a way that wasn’t usual) and that I had a very flat tone. 

After a long interview about my early childhood, they concluded that I was autistic. I’m late diagnosed (I was diagnosed at 24) and I come from a usually supportive family, who didn’t try to crush every one of my atypical traits (they also helped me to notice when people were joking, because I had a hard time with that at first). 

I didn’t went through early therapy, especially not abusive therapy like ABA, thank god. I’ve been encouraged a lot to seek independence, which explains why I can live by myself (though my lifestyle is not the healthiest).

All of those things can explain some of my traits, my personality and so on. Another autistic person with another background might mention very different traits or they might be less/more intense.

New Verse: Behind Every Great Slayer (aka the Spike was a Watcher AU)

I fully blame “Becoming Part 2″ for this and the seriousness with which Spike delivers the line about Angelus having Giles. Like he understands something about the relationship between a Slayer and their Watcher. 

So yes, have a verse where William knew his sister’s secret. Because he was the one tasked with guiding her. Training her.

Where old habits die hard and Spike finds himself, unconsciously, falling back on some of these behaviours while helping the Scoobies in S4 and beyound.

And quite possibly, where the Council, to be dicks...and not wanting to let it seem like Buffy completely handed them their asses...do not reinstate Giles as her watcher come S5, but instead appoint Spike...as he has the centuries of knowledge...

It’s a verse that’s still being developed and whose threads will be all over the place, but it’s also a verse with a TON of potential. 

Main muses involved are Spike ( @ghxstwrxter ), Amythest & Buffy ( @in-every-generation ) and quite possibly the New Sunnydale Crew because seeing them in this world also amuses me to no end. So if anyone is interested in threads in this verse, feel free to lemme know.
