Do you think helaemond can actually become show canon?
I don’t think so🥲 But I wish they were canon. Since season 2 episode 8, We can see a crack between them. From the book (I’m sorry if anything is incorrect) Aemond have relationship with Alys maybe start in season 3 so I don’t think the short will make them canon anymore😭 But if the show really wants to make Helaemond canon, it probably has a chance. Maybe we can see Aemond confess to Helaena or they reminisce of their past together. At least I wish they showed their bond🥺

Also, to add to response to that other anon, I *personally* am not a shipper of Halaena and Aemond, but that’s okay! I don’t come in here and tell you that it’s wrong or incorrect or bad ? I love your writing and I love your personality, and I feel like your blog is a safe space!!! Just bc you don’t agree with someone’s views doesn’t mean you can’t follow and enjoy who they are as a person and a writer without trying to prove or disprove anything? I love that you’re a Halaemond shipper!! It gives me a new and refreshing perspective!! But then again, I’m a person that likes really deep diving and seeing everyone’s pov, so idk. I just think it’s kinda unfair to say you can’t believe in what you want to !! Just wanted to say I love you and that it is more than possible to believe something different than someone else and still really enjoy them 💕 hope your day is good!! ✨
This is so sweet thank you!!!!!!
I’d also like to add that I always tag helaemond so people can blacklist it too like. I really don’t think I’m doing anything wrong!!
Thank you for your really really kind words! Esp being nice about my personality ily not to be too sentimental but you seem like you have a really kind heart like not only do you take time out of your day to read my silly little posts, but you took even more time to anonymously send a really really really kind message like wtf you’re an angel 😭🫶 thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have made my night all the brighter!

I'm so sick of team black fans who keeps posting their anti grееn team post without antis tags🤦🏻‍♀️ And like it's not enough they keep tagging their posts with "team green" tag. The same thing with their lame tagging of negative posts about "green" characters and pairings.
Grow up guys, google what word "polite" means and start acting like adults!
It's ok if you don't like something but it's not okay to insult ones who like these things and interfere them from enjoying content they like. Especially on their safe spaces (in the Internet this is specific tags which was created specifically for letting people see only posts with themes they like)
I also sometimes see the same problem with some team green fans when it comes to ship war between alymond and helaemond fans (from both sides of this battle😂), but this is quite rare and not even close to being as common as the team black fans making their hate speeches against team green (both characters and their fans) with incorrect tags.
It isn't so hard to properly tagging your posts! So I just don't understand why people don't do it.

i agree with you about aegon's character and helaegon in the show (it is poorly and inconsistently written) but i just want to add that "aemond being close with aegon even if he abuses helaena" is not impossible at all. in average patriarchy setting how a man treats his woman is not anyone else's business and even if he's cruel it's not a dealbreaker for other men to be friends with him. and aemond isn't that super fond of helaena, fandom has written some altentative love story for them but in actual hotd nothing points to their "special bond". aemond grew up seeing viserys abuse alicent and if aegon treats his wife the same way he probably thinks nothing of it. like, if aegon started to beat helaena in public of course aemond would protect her but what they do behind closed doors and how willingly helaena pays marital debt... it's not on aemond's mind.
while your overall take on men's relationships and how misogyny (doesn't necessarily) affect them is not incorrect per se, i find that's a very glacial reading of aemond's on-screen appearance so far. even if you don't ship helaemond, (which i do, so i'm bound to disagree with you here), aemond is shown to be respectful and protective of helaena both as a child and as a grownup - firstly when he expressed his desire to marry her as a child and secondly when he watches her like a hawk while jace dances with her. so he chides aegon just for insulting her and stares at her dancing so jace wouldn't try any funny business, but he'd be a-ok with aegon outright raping her and causing her physical pain?
helaena also lights up when he enters the room, so they at least must have a good relationship, otherwise she would glare at him or have no reaction. instead her entire demeanour changes. so i will have to disagree that "nothing points" to them getting along at the very least. why would she be excited to see someone who completely disregards her supposed suffering and isn't even fond of her in the first place?
in addition, how viserys treated alicent is massively different to how aegon is thought to abuse helaena. for all his flaws, viserys was never physically violent to his wife and rarely even raised his voice at her, maybe during the driftmark scene when he yelled at her to drop the knife, which was honestly not that outrageous a thing to do. he has never been shown to leave alicent in such a state as aegon left dyanna. so if aemond is getting his cues from his father re: how to treat the ladies, he is decidedly not getting the idea that violent rape and making your wife cry is the way to go
moreover, aemond is also looking for any and all reasons to feel superior to aegon and him mistreating his wife and the future queen of the seven kingdoms would be a pretty ugly stain on aegon's character that aemond would absolutely make an issue out of
lastly i would point out that this tendency to turn medieval people into sociopaths isn't necessarily conducive to woke criticism. people were capable of humanity and love even back then and were well-aware rape was a bad thing that was massively side-eyed, if not even legally-punishable. helaena is also not just some random girl aegon married that they have no connection to. she is a member of the family. of course their threshold of acceptability will be different to ours (for example, marital rape like alicent endures is unfortunately not a working concept), but them being fine with helaena brutalized and manhandled by her husband would be strange

Now this is something I thought a lot after watching episode 9 the first time and I wasn't even shipping Helaemond at the time.
I was surprised by that line and behaviour coming from Aemond, because in the book he was never described by the historical account and witnesses as someone greedy for the throne. Even when he assumed a regency on behalf Aegon (who was inhured at the time) he never styled himself as king and his behaviour made me thought he was genuinely not interested to become King, to take the crown from Aegon. That was one of the few reason why I actually liked Aemond in the book, he gave me the impression of someone loyal to his family and not an usual power-hungry sibling.
Now, he doesn't appear as a power-hungry sibling in the show as well (not like Renly Baratheon to make an example), but that particular dialogue picked up my attention because diverged from my impression of book-Aemond. So he did think about himself on the Iron Throne (in the way suggested by Rhaenys to Alicent) after all, that was interesting.
However, why did he say he was next in line if Aegon was not to be found? That's incorrect and Aemond would never make such a silly mistake in expressing himself. Based on the rule of male primogiture, even if Aegon was never to be found, the next in line was Jaehaerys, his eldest son.
Aemond comes after his nephew and only because Jaehaera is too young to have possible male heirs. He knew that, so why saying that line? It bothered me, until I put on my Helaemond chakra opened and I thought of a scenario where this could work out.
Yes, you know where the brainrot is going: Aegon's children are not his actual heirs, because their father is Aemond. That would explain the dialogue line "after Aegon, I am next" and made it sense.
Because the only other alternative would be that Aemond planned to kill his nephew and niece, but that's not in his character. For all his flaws and ruthlessness, Aemond is not a cruel kinslayer (episode 10 confirmed it ironically) and even if he despises some of his family members, he never applies such sentiment on Helaena. I can't imagine him doing anything remotely cruel to her and her children.
Even in the case the twins are not Aemond's natural children, there is still a way for him to rule on the Iron Throne legally in a scenario where Aegon dissappeared or died. As second son after Aegon, Aemond would be the best choice for the position of regent until Jaehaerys reaches his 16th birthday (Westeros legal age for adults). He said himself, he is the best equipped to rule, he prepared well for that role and he doesn't run away from his duty.
Talking about duty, what do you think would be a good way to reinforce the Targaryen position and eliminate any other discussion about the succession? Marry his deceased/dissappeared brother's wife.
That would work well to stop any other family to try to marry their daughters to Aemond (the Prince Regent in the scenario) as well, cutting out any possibility for Aemond to have legitimate sons with someone outside the Targaryen/Hightower influence.
Both cases where in one the twins are his children and in the other they are not, this scenario works out.
In conclusion I am sailinv on the Helaemond ship and I intend to enjoy the cruise straight to the Seven Hells. Mmh.
aemond I'm second in line to the throne......... but are u tho........... isn't ur brothers first born son the next in line...... 🤔 unless......... do I dare say it.............. ur brothers son is YOUR SON.......... just thinking here just saying just throwing it out there
