trying a new writing strategy: to-do list style outline
#unscientific aside#idk if this will be a helpful strategy but it was SO satisfying to put that DONE next to ch1 that i had to try it#and that one part in ch 7! i finished that bit yesterday while making the outline because it was soooo close to being done#divide and conquer baby#subsection labels redacted because reading the whole outline sounds like the most boring possible form of spoiler#chapter titles are fun though#this is the newmann fic that i keep trying to finish & being like 'oh it's almost done look i'm almost done chapter 2'#nope. incorrect. now we have a semi-quantifiable measure of that though & i can refer back to this to see progress#chapter 2 is actually a lot longer than chapter 4 despite appearances. chapter 4 is just in more pieces#It Has Been Foretold (by a friend with more writing experience. thank u CC) that my 8-chapter fic is going to end up at 10 chapters#and i was like ''ahaha no i don't think so i have an outline''#(previous outline. less detailed)#but chapter 2 has gotten concerningly long and chapter 4 kind of has 2 distinct sections. so uh. hmm.#i keep looking at those 2 like ''don't you dare''#edit: adding the new writing tag#tin kitchen in the garret
