i think i'm going to take a small hiatus from this daily art blog, cleaning and preparing for the move has been hell lately and my insomnia is kicking my ass, i'm still going to work on things but i'm not going to do daily posts for a few days to avoid burnout. on a side note i had a brief period of time to do some experimental tiles

alternatively with a shine (shine is very placeholder)

i've also done a little work on simplifying the interior tileset so that i can hopefully have it be usable later

sorry for not posting yesterday, i've had very little freetime. hoping that taking a break from the pressure of daily posting will help.

Armand just clinging onto Daniel when they sleep because he likes to siphon all his body heat. After Daniel is turned, Armand tries to stop one night, and Daniel just grabs him and pretty much pulls Armand on top of himself like a weighted blanket because he can't sleep without the extra weight/pressure.

ok my insomnia is being a fucking bitch this week so i’m gonna complain in a productive manner. ish.

i feel like it goes under acknowledged how fucking boring it is. like you just lie in bed willing yourself to sleep for hours upon hours upon hours. sure you can try keeping yourself busy but you’re also exhausted so there’s only so much you can do. if you’re in a military setting or something like that where you sleep in a big room with a bunch of other people, then you especially can’t do anything because you’ll wake the others up and probably worry them a little. plus you gotta listen to them snore and shit. you swear to god you can feel your sinus or pharynx or some shit, running all the way from your tear ducts to your throat, and it doesn’t hurt, it’s not even necessarily all that uncomfortable, but it’s there and it’s so in your face (literally and figuratively) and it won’t go away. you start seeing faces in the dark, constantly moving, never still, and you decide that’ll have to serve as your entertainment for the night because even if you were able to get out of bed without waking the others, you really can’t be bothered. your body is crying out for sleep, so is your brain, you want to sleep, you need to sleep, you have to sleep, but you can’t sleep. boring and extremely fucking infuriating

anyway it’s a really fun little stressor to put on your whumpees, just to rub a little salt in their wounds

Jimmy and Daisuke Family Lore (ADJ)

I'm a bit nervous to put this out there because this fandom doesn't seem as thrilled about modern AU's as other fandoms I've been in but FUCK IT. This account is so far from canon we might as well be our own invasive species.

I do be putting these characters into situations, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet.

So, when Jimmy was maybe 4 or 5 he was taken from his abusive household and put in the system. Daisuke's parents had a lot of trouble conceiving and they decided that adoption was the route they wanted to take so they adopted a tiny, troubled Jimmy when he was around 6 or 7.

But SURPRISE, they actually conceived Daisuke around the same time.

Jimmy spent a lot of his childhood acting out and vying for their parents attention because he felt more like a consolation prize than a child, and obviously he had a lot of trouble because his formative years he was abused. It followed him into adulthood for sure.

But when Daisuke was born Jimmy loved him immediately and took him under his wing. He kept a very close eye on him and bullied all the kids who even looked at Daisuke wrong. They don't live as close anymore (Daisuke still lives with their parents and Jimmy has his own place), but Jimmy makes the effort to see him every so often.

I know that the easier option would be to have Anya and Daisuke be siblings but honestly, after reading the wiki and playing the game for the 8th time I was just so attached to Jimmy and Daisuke being siblings it's pretty much permanently ingrained in my brain. I cannot undo it- they are brothers to me </3

I shit you not, genuinely, I have character sheets on the lore for this account AU that I never thought would see the light of day. It's insane how much I think about this AU.

I've been playing Alan Wake 2, and boy, has it been a trip so far (I don't think I'll ever be over that entire musical segment, lol).

Anyway, while playing, I had a thought. What about a crossover with SVSSS where the reason PIDW ended up as it did was actually due to the interference of the dark presence. It manipulated Airplane in an effort to create its own little world made in such a way that it can be easily invaded. That way, it can essentially use the PIDW-verse as a focal point to invade other small little worlds. Allowing it to slowly and steadily grow strong enough to finally invade the Alan Wake world.

The only reason the SVSSS-verse exists is in an effort to rewrite PIDW to prevent such a thing or, in the worst-case scenario, have another world in between to weaken it or at the very least slow it down. Airplane isn't just trying to survive. He is quite literally trying to save multiple worlds by undoing all the mistakes he made in his writing. The system is an outside entity trying to stop the dark presence. Shen Yuan is brought into the narrative not just by the system but by Airplane as well. His brought in for the sole purpose of being a conduit and catalyst to change the story for the better.

Essentially, Airplane and the system are playing 4D chess with the forces of darkness for the sake of multiple universes, and Shen Yuan is an unfortunate bystander dragged into it to serve as a narrative tool and nothing else.
