Flynn just lifted the now not so little sunlight into his arms, and carried him with him to the kitchen where Emil was making some treats for the kids the next day. After explaining what they were going to do, and both of them getting a big hug, they walked the short distance between their houses. 

Flynn: Want to help me check on some kittens while dad finishes up? Liam: Yes!

Liam was like all the kids, they loved helping out, and they learned from a very young age that a lot of these pets just needed to feel loved, something they could so easily help with. Going with Flynn to the barn, they found themselves pretty busy with the many animals there who loved getting some extra attention.

River: Thought I’d find you both here. Liam: Daddy! River smiled as he had his arms full with his son, lifting him up, their foreheads touching, just like he had so many times done with Flynn through the years.

River: So, what’s the occasion?

It actually breaks my heart how many lost and escaped cats don't get found for months or years or ever because cats being outside is so normal that no one even questions it. A dog that's running around loose will usually get caught and returned to their family or at least brought to a shelter, but cats don't get a second look even if they're wearing collars.

If you have an indoor cat, consider keeping them collared with a tag that clearly states they are indoors-only and should be returned home.

tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

Despite what people complain and snark about, Bruce does in fact have contingency plans for pretty much everything. And while he doesn’t have an exact contingency for Jason apparently accidentally kidnapping the apparently prince of the Realms- some infinite space where the dead resided according to Zatanna and Constantine, he’ll have an existential crisis about it later thanks- he did have one for his kids accidentally kidnapping someone. 

He just doesn’t think that exact plan will work in this case, seeing as that plan had to do with civilians and not very large kings that could obliterate the entire world with a hand wave, nevermind the fact that they have so many armies. Not to mention what is apparently both the king’s second-in-command and brother. 

Well, if none of his usual contingencies won’t work and Constantine’s attempts at making a deal isn’t working, nor is the other’s attempts to talk the two down, then it’s plan Z time. Seduction it is.

Ahsoka shrugs artlessly, head coming to rest on her upturned palm as she leans on the table. She’s four drinks in, Obi-Wan thinks, but it’s not as if he’s really been counting. This is supposed to be a celebration—her celebration. Friends don’t count other friends’ drinks, not when they’re supposed to be celebrating the fact that one friend has just returned from her first solo mission, alive and well. Planet she’d been sent to also alive and well, ostensibly. So Obi-Wan isn’t counting, but he is noticing. Usually Ahsoka never orders more than tworounds before she’s requesting a cup of water from the serving droid. Something to do with her master’s disapproval or mandatory early morning meditations. Obi-Wan has never really asked, has in fact built his life around the longterm goal of thinking and asking after Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker as little as possible. Ostensibly.

I've seen a couple posts now talking about the concept of an AU where Vox somehow gains control over Alastor's soul/contract. While I do agree with the common take that he'd probably try to mind control Alastor or break his spirit at first, I think he'd actually get bored of that pretty quickly. Alastor's appeal is all in his personality; putting him in a situation where he just shuts down and stops giving the reactions that make him who he is would lose its novelty for Vox within a month or two.

Imo, from there I see it turning into a "gilded cage" situation. Vox sets up a nice little club for Alastor to live in; it's classy and Alastor is free to do what he pleases with it, but he cannot leave and whatever Vox says goes. It's a kind of faux freedom that's just tolerable enough for him not to go insane, but just restrictive enough that he still feels like some kind of pet. Vox isn't physically around that often, but he's always watching; Alastor's free to make his own choices, but can only chose from a small, pre-approved set of options. It's actually not too dissimilar to the situation he put his own contractees in, and Alastor loathes that fact.

Can we talk about how Karen definitely has some sort of PTSD because you can't just wake up one day with a knife and bloody hands and a dead coworker on your carpet one and then be fine. You don't get arrested and then almost strangled to death while in custody and be fine. You don't get kidnapped and threatened and then kill someone in self defense and be fine.

Oh my god can we PLEASE talk about Karen and her trauma oh my GOD.
