i think i spent a lot of time trying to develop a style that could embody the way i wanted to use language that was expressive in and of itself and not just a conduit for the individual words (and it's still a fucking sandbox mess)—

writers—hemingway (i know); toni morrison, richard siken, allen ginsberg and the beat poets; dostoevsky and joyce. i'll never forget what it was like to be that teenager reading the book thief by markus zusak; tamar by mal peet; my name is asher lev, by chaim potok, which touched my very soul. zora neale hurston, who taught me to re-imagine what things felt like; and indeed, nancy werlin, whose YA fiction found me by luck at age eleven and has stuck with me tattoo-like since.

i have a limited experience with fics—but i'm big enough to admit watching merlin on bbc as a kid and well (some of) you know what pipeline that leads down and for the brief few months i spent in that era this fic by @valkyrieskwad was truly, so truly, my shayla (and you do not need a shred of the source material to enjoy it)

Actually I think Sirry and Remadora have a lot of similarities—two worn, older men with sad pasts finding young love etc. etc.. So instead of Remus being judgy about Sirius dating his much younger godson, they get together and exchange ideas about how to prevent backaches and muscle cramps and satisfy a much younger lover with a higher libido who doesn’t want to be in bed by 10.

i just read a fanfic where oikawa tooru bangs aomine. the image in my head was pretty hilarious, but it was worth it, lol. it wasn’t even the main ship in the story, but bottom aomine is such a rare treat that i can’t be picky.
