Peter being left out and hated on, he was their friend before he was a death eater. thats why it hurt so much

I think it's crazy how people will defend young Peter, but hate any other death eater characters. They'll say he was just a kid once, someone who loved his friends and played pranks with them. He was a kid before he was ever a traitor. Before he was ever bad. While I completely agree, and Peter is one of my favourite characters, I refuse to agree with this when they'll hate on any of the other death eaters, especially in the same post.

They Were Kids Once Too.

Barty? He was a kid, too. Evan? Once a kid. Regulus? He was a kid. He never even got to be anything else. Bellatrix? a kid. Draco? a kid. Narcissa? a kid. Just. Like. Peter.

They were all children once. They all enjoyed having fun with their friends at one point. They were children. And many of them were still children when they became death eaters. Children, who we know are more susceptible to propaganda. Children, who are more likely to do what they're asked. Children, who believe lies. They were just kids.

Will I defend the actions they took as death eaters? No. Absolutely not. But I will defend the people they were before they became what they ended up as. The children they were before being indoctrinated into a cult.

If you're going to defend Peter, because he was just a kid, you can't turn around and hate on Barty, Regulus, Evan, or anyone else for being death eaters, because they were just kids too.

Regulus Black has this deep urge to tell people stuff.

He obviously he couldn’t tell his parents everything because “You never shut up. You should learn to be more ladylike” so he learned to keep his mouth shut around them.

But he would burst into Sirius’ room all the time just to tell him small, meaningless stuff

“I just stubbed my toe, but then Kreture got me strawberries so i dont care anymore”

”what were to happen if you mix a poison with a growing potion?”

”SIRIUS! A butterfly just flew by my window!!”

”look look look! My socks are fuzzy!” (Andy secretly got them for him)

“siriuuuuuuus, my hair hurts”

“I drew something cool!” (Proceeds to show Siri a drawing of the same thing he’s drawn non-stop for a week and has shown sirius every single time) (“woah reggie thats amazing”)

etc. etc. etc.

like he just has a need to externalize all of his thoughts

so when Sirius left for hogwarts, Reg started writing them all down, and that’s how he got into writing.

by the time Sirius came back for Christmas that year, Reg had filled three notebooks full of just meaningless thoughts

obviously then they had a falling out and Reg hid his emotions even more, and he started writing even more

and thats when the whole emo poetry boy thing started

Eventually (around third year) he felt comfortable enough with the Skittles to tell them his thoughts

so randomly throughout the day he would whisper nonsense to them and they’d just smile at him, knowing that (unless he’s exited) theres no need to answer.

if he is exited than you best fucking believe they’re exited with him

but i just think he needs people to know his thoughts and to validate them. Because if not then are they even real? Like obviously they’re real but do they don’t count if it’s just in his head. They don’t actually exist.

and it’s the same thought process as to why he hides his emotions

if people aren't aware of them they don’t exist

i could keep going into deep thought about this urge and how it relates to his character and his relationships but for the point of this post, which was supposed to be cute, i’ll shut up here.

Regulus Black writes poetry about James and hides it in a locked box beneath his bed. (which in Grimmauld is also under a loose floorboard)

Sirius definitely finds the box and breaks into it before Regulus and James get together and makes fun of Regulus endlessly. (he never tells anyone though)

A year or so later James comes to Sirius in a panic about his developing feelings for Regulus and Sirius feels like it's karma for all the times he's made fun of Regulus for his "embarrassing crush"

He doesn't complain when they get together though.

idk why im in such a bad mood rn but it actually PISSES ME TF OFF how the entire marauders fandom collectively decided to take this bum-ass loser character with one discernable impact on the storyline (regulus. im talking about regulus) and make him a super complex, three-dimensional MAIN character in the era that’s being literally paired with JAMES POTTER(???) when they could’ve taken a character who AREADY has existing complexities and everything they could ever want and develop them. but they won’t because that character is a fucking woman ☠️☠️

the way the black sisters would have the entire fandom in a fucking chokehold if they were boys. do you actually think sirius and regulus would be as cherished as they are now if they were women? hell fucking no, regulus would be hated on so badly. the way we were given narcissa and fucking andromeda too? here’s the entire fandom yapping on and on about how cool regulus is for rebelling against the dark lord when narcissa was doing it and fucking getting away with it too (because she’s better and doesn’t suck ass). here’s andromeda going against her entire bloodline ON HER OWN but yet shes still so overshadowed by sirius (who literally came after her). then you got bellatrix who is canonly one of the most powerful (and cuntiest) witches in the hp-verse and you decide to go and develop BARTY instead. think about it. they’re both crazy except one is more of a loser and is a male so of course the fandom will choose him.

and then. of course. lily evans who is literally the mother of the entire verse itself is still out here fighting for literal recognition and development from the fandom. and those mfs still give it to regulus instead ☠️☠️

The delicate, loving kiss shared between James and Regulus following that declaration was enough to have Barty grinning stupidly, happy that his friend had finally figured things out with James. After everything they had gone through, no one could argue against the fact that they deserved to have this.

Barty turned to share this sentiment with Evan, but the words died on his lips as he took in his friend’s expression. The corner of Evan’s mouth was pulling down ever so slightly, and even though he was clapping fairly enthusiastically, it was clear that something was bothering him.

“What’s wrong?” Barty murmured, reaching out a hand to touch Evan’s shoulder ever so lightly.

Evan startled at the contact before attempting to force a smile, which Barty just raised his eyebrows. Seeing that he wouldn’t be able to convince him, Evan dropped the act.

“It’s just,” he sighed, looking thoroughly dejected now, “seeing them up there, looking so happy together…”

He trailed off, forcing Barty to prompt, “Yes?”

When Evan looked up at him, it was with pain fresh in his gaze. “It makes me doubt that I’ll ever get to have that.”

The words, coupled with the sad tone and resigned expression, made Barty’s heart clench in his chest. He scoffed.

“Ridiculous,” he said.

Evan cut him a biting look. “What’s ridiculous?”

“The thought of you ending up sad and alone. I mean, have you ever looked in a mirror before? Add that to you being, well, you, and I don’t think it’s possible. Besides,” continued Barty, snaking a hand around Evan’s waist so he could pull him in and grin at him flirtatiously, “if we’re both still single by the time we’re thirty, give or take, I’ll just marry you myself. Easy.”

Evan made a noise of protest and pushed Barty’s hand away, but there was a hint of a smile in his face as he did so.

“You’re an idiot,” Evan said fondly, to which Barty immediately replied, “Only for you.”

And if that made a slight blush appear on Evan’s cheeks, well. Barty didn’t notice, because he had already gone back to cheering on the happy, newly-wedded couple.

Cannibal Regulus owns a butcher shop with his friends and Vampire James who is a regular because it's the only place where the meat actually fulfills his appetite and taste. This is cuz the meat is actually human (the pantheon was feeling silly).

So cue James going to the butcher shop on a regular with a giant grin and Regulus with his short curly hair up and being all blushy and wide-eyed while cleaning a butcher knife covered in blood, wearing a cute, though dirty, and stained apron.

One time, James catches Regulus as he's cleaning up and offers to take him home. While they have been crushing on each other for some time now, Regulus doesn't hesitate to invite James inside and try to jam a machete into the back of his head. Doesn't work, instead, they both end up falling more in love (somehow) and the next day Regulus takes his day off from the shop to go on a date with James. also again want to reiterate that this blog will always be a safe place for trans people. the uk supreme court ruling is so disappointing and scary but i promise that you are so completely valid in your identity.

do not give JKR any money! as a fandom we really need to be actively speaking out against JKR and her views. it is no longer enough to just head cannon marauders characters as trans. we need to be actively refuting her bigotry and refusing to give her any money or attention.

whether we like it or not, being in this fandom is actively popularising her works and giving her attention. that is why it is so important to be educating one another and speaking out.

james does not know how to flirt

he’s desperate for regulus’ attention but he doesn’t know how to get it so he’ll just turn up to the library and bother regulus with questions like

“whats your opinion on pterodactyls”

“rank your top five favourite dogs”

“tell me your least favourite colour and why”

and regulus is IMMEDIATELY on the defensive because he thinks that james is making fun of him in some way in that way because that’s what he’s used to and he doesn’t know what game james is playing but hes not having it

“Is there anything that I can do to help out right now, Mr. Black?” A gentle voice that has rapidly become familiar says, just behind Regulus.

The teacher quickly gives his instructions to the student that he’s watching over before turning to the woman, “Not that I can think of, Miss Potter, but thank you.” 

“Oh, I meant to tell you,” she smiles, “It’s Evans now, the divorce has been finalised and I wanted to go back to my maiden name.”

“Of course, we can work that out with the school’s system at some point this week, I’m glad things have all been sorted out. If you don’t mind me asking, why did you and Mr. Potter divorce?” 

The woman smiles softly, “Oh Harry’s obsessed with his father, you’ve probably heard the world of him.” She shakes her head, “It’s nothing bad, we just… our love wasn’t romantic like it used to be.”

“I’m glad that everything was amicable then, things like divorce can be hard on children, and while I doubt that you’ll be giving him any issues, I’ll make it clear that I can be a listening ear for Harry.”

“That would be greatly appreciated, thank you, Mr. Black.” Then she furrows her brows, quickly leaning down to help a child with the craft that they’re working on, “You haven’t met my hu- ex-husband have you?”

Regulus shakes his head, “I don’t believe I have. I understand that he was helping out with today, but I don’t think he and I have crossed paths.” 

The woman takes a moment to gesture to where a group of kids are sitting around playing with some of the water toys at a table. With them is a man seemingly explaining how putting a block in the way of a channel of water stops the water from flowing, “That’s him.” And Regulus feels nearly frozen watching the man. He has a kind smile on his face and he’s talking to the kid with such kind patience. They’re near enough that Regulus is able to hear the man’s echoing laugh when the kid says or does something. He’s broad, clearly fit, and looks dorky in the outfit that he’s wearing alongside round glasses that sit low on his nose. 

Lily seems to pick up on his thought process, as she lets out her own gentle laugh, “He gets that a lot.”

“How did you manage to not get jealous all the time?” Regulus blurts before shaking his head, “My apologies that were… unprofessional.” 

“Your brother is dating my best friend,” Lily smiles, “I don’t think you need to worry about being all that professional with me. And to answer your question, I just had to get used to it. That man is loyal, almost to a fault, and incredibly oblivious to people flirting with him so I never had any reason to be… nervous about people flirting with him. And I mean, he was my husband, I understood.”

“You’re better than me.” Regulus hums, but leaves it at that, tearing his eyes away from the man smiling and playing with the children to help out the kids that he himself is watching over.
