WELCOME TO LIMELIGHT LLC. - we are so excited to have you all here and, i'll say it until i'm blue in the face but, thank you to everyone for all of the patience in the last 24 hours. we created stuff for this group within the last week expecting it to be small, take a while to get off the ground, etc. so thank you, thank you for everything to help things get started smoothly for us all. i have a lot of stuff i want to cover below the cut before we get into the follow list with everything going on and the amount of people we have here.

We want to make sure all of you have an updated copy of our trigger tags and a link to our rules available on this post so please see the links to get familiar with them. It ties directly into our expectations for this group and goals with being in charge of a creative space.

We know the last 48 hours have been absolutely wild in the community and this place is where we really just want to create a space for writers to write, people to make silly posts, and just have fun. We know there's a lot of us here and we won't get along with or agree with every person we talk to. That's okay - we just need people to be civil and give everyone the basic respect they deserve as we are all people behind our screens.

Our expectations for everyone boil down to treating each other with respect - on the dash, on chats, and across the board. If you have any issues with another writer, you will always have our permission to unfollow them or block them if needed. You do not have to ask us permission because this is supposed to be a stress free space for creative minds to write and relax. Please just let us know if you do block someone so we can keep tabs on things and help you guys out.

If an issue arises with another writer, do not bring it to the dash or start spreading it amongst writers - please come to us directly. We are here to help. In order for us to proceed with unbiased and well rounded decisions, it is encouraged that we get screenshots or whatever information we can to get all sides of the story so we know how to proceed. We do not want to make any unfair decisions for any of you guys.

All of us mods have been in the community for a while (most of that spent not modding but we want to give it a shot!). We've seen groups come and go, we've seen the things in real time that unravel a group, and we really do just want a calm, stress-free space for people to relax. We don't need to add stress to anyone's lives over a fun hobby. With that being said, if any issues come up at any point, message us directly on chats @ [email protected] for the quickest response. Any OOC drama getting out of hand will be dealt with accordingly to keep this space welcoming. We're really excited to have you all and I'll pack it up but thank you again for everyone being really helpful, patient, and such through all of this chaos.

I noticed you restructured the American syllabus for the IC, and after groaning at the extra cash I would have to lay down to buy the readings (and at there being only one week of Dickinson*), I rejoiced that I would finally get introduced to American modernism. Along those lines —

Would you consider postwar literature (through to the millenium) for a future IC? If not (or even if so!) I would love to hear how you’d structure this era/a syllabus on it, which you’ve talked about in glowing terms before. But I’m too young to have picked it up as it happened, and it’s too young to have been really canonised yet (or at least, the culture wars have stopped it from being canonised on its own terms rather than primarily political ones). Or maybe it has been but I don’t know where to look, although you said recently that criticism for that era hasn’t yet lived up to the books themselves.

But like, Morrison and DeLilo and Ellison and Bellow and Roth and Baldwin and Pynchon and McCarthy and Nabokov (kinda) and Wallace (apparently) and who else am I missing, and a handful of romancers like Dick and Le Guin — not to mention poets, playwrights, essayists, or Brits! And I don’t know how it all fits together, since we’ve (as Bloom predicted!) handed over the keys to the cultural narrative to the ‘cultural studies’ people who know only how to read films and magazines, and even then just barely.

*Also, do you think you might be able to include at the end of the syllabus a note on the works you’ve swapped out? The expanded guide would be useful, even though (indeed because!) it includes some of the more obvious picks, which I can return to later.

Thanks! I did address some of your questions about how exactly I changed the syllabus in my most recent Substack. I mainly just deleted a few Emerson essays (Nature, "The Divinity School Address," "Circles," "Experience"), Thoreau's Walden (in favor of two shorter pieces by him), and a handful of Whitman's Civil War poems.

I have the lectures for a course I taught on American Lit from 1945 to the present on YouTube here. I wouldn't do anything differently when it comes to poetry and drama than I did there. With fiction, I focused on the short story because it was an intro-level class; for that reason I omitted some writers mainly known for novels (Ellison, Bellow, McCarthy) but I didn't avoid anyone on strictly political grounds (Roth and Wallace are included, for instance, despite the controversy about them). I don't really think of Nabokov as an American writer! For the criticism of the era, big names include Irving Howe, Lionel Trilling, Elizabeth Hardwick, Gore Vidal, Susan Sontag, and then it becomes more strictly academic...I'm not sure I'd ever teach a course on that per se.

I would consider and have considered an IC course focused on the postwar American novel, though I'd probably cut it off at 2000. (As Roger Shattuck once said quixotically of the Visible College, "Students can read living authors on their own time." The few living authors below are over 80 and effectively beyond criticism.) The reading list would probably look like this:

Graham Greene, Christopher Isherwood, Muriel Spark, Iris Murdoch, J. G. Ballard, A. S. Byatt, Angela Carter, Salman Rushdie, Kazuo Ishiguro, Ian McEwan, Zadie Smith, David Mitchell...who else? I'm probably missing obvious people! (I've never read Penelope Fitzgerald, for example. I want to read The Blue Flower but have to read that Novalis thing first and then it never happens, etc. Never read Kingsley Amis, don't care for Martin Amis...)

The Vanishing Intro I

a/n: I got the inspo for such a incident from the “Dark Curse” of abc’s Once Upon a Time and the “Blip” from the Marvel cinematic universe. I do not own Harry Potter and the characters, all rights go to JKR and Warner Bros. Pictures. Only the non-canonical plot was my idea. I also do not agree with any and all prejudiced remarks formulated by JKR in concern of their transphobia. Remember folks, copying other people’s works is plagiarism and that’s illegal. Don’t be that kind of person. Anyways, hope you all enjoy it :)

Summary: Under the threat of defeat, the supporters of the dark lord cast a curse that banishes half of the Wizarding population of the British Isles. No knows where they had gone or how they vanished. But twenty-one years later, the vanished make their return, and the Wizarding world they once knew is no longer the same.

The British Conclave of Magic: The Conclave is the successor of the British Ministry of Magic, and serves as the formal government for the magical species of the British Isles. Closer in resemblance to the Wizard’s Council of old Britain and MACUSA, the Conclave still holds many roots in the British Ministry of Magic. The reformation of the Ministry into the Conclave was a direct result of the British Magical Purge that took place from the years 2000 to 2004.

The current regime of the Conclave is as follows:

British Premier of Magic: Susan Bones (2009-Present)

House of Nobles: Members of this house aid in the advisement of the Premier. Acting as a vice power should the Premier become incapacitated. These members are elected tri-annually by the those in the House of Inquest. They also serve as judges and vote in any high profile criminal trials.

Incumbent House Nobles: Flora Carrow, Fergus Finnigan, Roger Davies, Nymphadora Lupin, Ernest Macmillan, Draco Malfoy, Cormac McLaggen, Graham Montague, Theodore Nott, Mafalda Prewett, Adrian Pucey, Rolf Scammander, Ronald Weasley & Romilda Vane

House of Inquest: The successor of the Wizengamot, all fifty-three members of this house are voted on by the wizarding populace of the isles. The higher the concentration of magical folk in an area, the more seats in the house the area maintains. E.g. Hogsmeade and Cokesworth, being the two largest Wizarding settlements in the isles with sixteen and eleven seats respectively. The house is headed by the Orator, who represents, leads and dictates the decorum of the house in all meetings.

Incumbent Orator of the House: Lord Dennis Prewett, née Creevey.

Department of Magical Law Enforcement: (DMLE) Responsible for upholding the laws set forth by the Conclave. The largest of the departments and all other departments were answerable to this one; the Department of Mysteries were the only exception in certain cases.

Incumbent High Enchantress: Lady Daphne Greengrass

Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes: (DMAC) Tasked with the prevention, containment and/or reversal of magical mishaps. It’s main goals currently are protecting the Statute of Secrecy and preventing all muggle interference in the magical community.

Incumbent High Warlock: Roger Davies

Department of International Magical Relations: (DIMR) Serving as the communication between the British Conclave and other magical governments around the world, this department currently focuses on repairing the relationship between Magical Britain and their neighbors in France, Germany and the Nordic Ministries.

Incumbent High Warlock: Lord Theodore Nott

Department for Regulation of Magical Creatures: (DRMC) Dedicated to the restoration, protection and maintaining cooperation amongst the many different magical beings, beasts and spirits of Magical Britain. They work alongside magizoologists and the DMLE to better protect and incorporate the magical species in the British Isles.

Incumbent High Warlock: Rolf Scammander

Department of Magical Transportation: (DMT) In charge of the regulation of transportation services of wizarding Britain. The department became highly regarded following the brief establishment of Rappaport’s Law, because safe transport in and out of the isles became almost impossible during the Purge. Now however, the mass production and regulation of advanced Vanishing Cabinets, and enchanted automobiles have become the new tools of transport.

Incumbent High Enchantress: Romilda Vane

Department of Magical Entertainment: (DME) In control of the proper operation, funding and safe establishment of entertainment sources and events—such as national and international Magical Sports (Quidditch, Wizarding Hockey, Quadpot etc etc.), Magical Cinemas/Theatres and the Magical Music scene. The department rose in popularity following the recognized end of the Purge in the year of 2005, when the Weasley family opened the very first Magical Cinema in Ottery St. Catchpole.

Incumbent High Warlock: Cormac McLaggen

Department of Mysteries: (DMY) The most secretive department, they are dedicated to the gathering of confidential research in the name of furthering the understanding magic. They are the only department not subjected to complete obeisance to the DMLE.

Incumbent Head Unspeakable: Lady Tracey Nott, née Davis

Hogwarts Board of Governors: A group of thirteen wizards and witches that oversaw the maintenance and running of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They held the power to dictate the curriculum and every day operation of the school.

Incumbent Chairman: Lord Draco Malfoy

British Magical Purge of the 2000s: Commonly referred to as the Great Purge or simply the Purge, the British Magical Purge was a mass witch hunt for witches, wizards and other magical species within Britain by covert sects of the British Muggle Government between 2000-2004.

The hunts were believed to be a retaliatory act by the muggles following the final battle between the Order of the Phoenix and the Impurities; Known by magic-kind as the Battle for London, the battle took place within the old Ministry of Magic, upon the streets of Muggle London as well as in the skies above the city. As her final act of terrorism, Bellatrix Lestrange flooded the Thames river. The sudden flood had already drowned at least two-thousand muggles by the time the order had managed to undo the flood.

The muggle reaction to the flood saw associates of the incumbent Muggle Prime Minister, who secretly knew of Magic, hire mercenaries to begin the Purge: this led to a large scale series of witch hunts and magical massacres, unseen since the time of Salem.

The Purge saw numerous witches, wizards and other beings such as werewolves, vampires, squibs, muggles who married into the magical community, hags, centaurs, merlings, goblins and house elves persecuted, captured and murdered.

In response, the British Conclave was formed out of the ruins of the Ministry. Efforts to maintain the Statute of Secrecy as well as sustaining the already diminished, magical population, the Conclave temporarily adopted the American made “Rappaport’s Law” (an era colloquially called “Rappaport’s Reign). The swift segregation of magical folk from the muggles, and harsh operations of oblivation to those within muggle governments, resulted in a slow, but eventual return of peace within the British magical community.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: The primary source of education for British wizarding youth, Hogwarts serves as a strong bastion of peace and protection for the future wizarding generations.

The Seven Swords of Britain: A term coined by Witch Weekly’s Editor in chief, Lavender Brown, the Seven Swords of Britain are—in accordance to numerous public polls and interviews—the current, seven most influential and prominent wizarding families within the isles.

The recognized families are:

The Esteemed House of Carrow: Headed by Flora Carrow, Flora Carrow is the largest trader of magical foreign goods and a philanthropist, who aided in the refugee crisis following the Calamity of Diagon Alley in 2001. She became the head of her family following the death of her uncle, Amycus Carrow—known Death Eater and Impurity.

Commonly associates with Houses Malfoy and Nott. Though keeps a precarious relationship with other families such as the Montagues and McLaggens.

The Noble and Most Ancient House of Longbottom: A revered member of Dumbledore’s Army and the Order of the Phoenix, Lord Neville Longbottom serves as the current Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Through his inheritance as the sole Longbottom heir and his scandalous marriage to Pansy Parkinson, the Longbottoms holds one of the largest wealths in Great Britain. Wealth, that they have been known to spend readily on Hogwarts and numerous charities.

Commonly associates with Houses Lovegood, Macmillan, Parkinson, Patil, Tonks and Weasley. Also viewed as the peacemakers between the feuding Notts & Weasleys.

The Honourable House of Lovegood: Presumed the youngest of the revered families, Luna Lovegood is a well known household name. Current proprietor of the Quibbler—the largest source of news in all of magical Britain and the Lovegood Magical Sanctuary, located on the once disdained isle of Drear. Luna Lovegood married Colin Creevey in 2003. Whereas Luna continues to serve as a magizoologist and newspaper owner, her husband currently works as a professor at Hogwarts.

Commonly associates with the Houses Longbottom and Weasley; as well as the Bones, Creevey, Goldstein and Scammander families. Currently bonded in marriege to House Prewett through her husband’s brother.

The Noble and Most Ancient House of Malfoy: Initially pushed to the outskirts of society following their known patronage of Voldemort, Draco Malfoy returned the honour of his family following his efforts in the defense of Diagon Alley during its Calamity. The Malfoy’s are also recognized as a large benefactor to Sinestra’s Sanatorium for Magical Maladies.

Commonly associates with Houses Carrow, Greengrass and Weasley. Bonded in marriage to the Weasleys through the Greengrass sisters, their relationship is cordial at best.

The Honourable House of McLaggen: Cormac McLaggen is fatefully remembered for his efforts in maintaining the Statute of Secrecy through numerous Obliviation Operations in 2002-2006. Though not as wealthy as the Malfoys, Notts or Weasleys, the McLaggen’s wealth is enough to shoulder the funding for his current office as head of the Department of Magical Entertainments: Sports, Cinemas and Music.

Commonly associates with the Davies, Brown and Wood families. Also, highly supports the Notts when in opposition to the Weasley-Greengrass-Malfoy political block.

The Noble and Most Ancient House of Nott: Lord Theodore Nott and Lady Tracey Nott née Davis are respected as two of the most prominent members of the Conclave—Lord Theodore serving as High Warlock of the Conclave’s Department of International Magical Relations and Lady Tracey as the head Unspeakable for the British Department of Mysteries. The Nott family are also referred to by the epithet “The Lords of Trent” due to their ownership of a large fraction of land near Nottingham.

Commonly associates with the House of Carrow and freely indulges with other families such as Davies, Brown, Macmillan, Montague, Pucey, and Vane.

The Noble and Most Ancient House of Weasley: Perhaps the most desirable of families, Lord Ronald Weasley is most fantastically recognized for bringing a formal end of the Second Wizarding War after he successfully dueled and defeated Bellatrix Lestrange and the Impurities in the Battle for London. Through his marriage to Daphne Greengrass, his acquisition of the Black and Prewett family fortunes, and his successful production of a philosopher’s stone, Lord Ronald had become a large benefactor for the reconstruction of Magical Britain as a whole.

Commonly associates with Houses Longbottom and Lovegood. Hold close ties to families such the Bones, Delacours, Jordans, Spinnets, Thomas, Tonks and Woods. Tied by blood to the Houses of Black and Prewett and bonded in marriage to Houses Greengrass, Malfoy and the Creevey Family—an by extension, the Lovegoods as well.

— Lord Ronald “Ron” Weasley; sixth son of the vanished Arthur Weasley & Molly Weasley née Prewett. Born March 1st, 1980. Current head of the House of Weasley, resides at his home of the Warren, on Stoadshead Hill, Ottery St. Catchpole, England. Recognized for his efforts in the Second Wizarding War against Lord Voldemort, defeating Bellatrix Lestrange in the Battle for London and his continued relief and philanthropic efforts throughout the British Magical Purge 2000-2004. Careers includes being a fellow member of the House of Nobles, former Hit-Wizard for the British Conclave of Magic, former steward for the Noble and Most Ancient Houses of Black & Prewett, renowned Alchemist & possessor of a philosopher’s stone, proprietor of the following: Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes (WWW) & the Chudley Cannons Quidditch Team, co-proprietor for Dame’s Wizarding Bank and known benefactor to the Lovegood Magical Sanctuary and Sinestra’s Sanatorium for Magical Maladies.

—— Lady Daphne Greengrass; wife to Ronald Weasley. Eldest daughter of the late Lord Cassius Greengrass and Lady Bianca Greengrass née Este. Born May 19, 1980. Current head of the House of Greengrass, and consort of the House of Weasley. A revered and cherished witch of her generation, and known for relief efforts throughout the British Magical Purge, she once served as a Hit-Wizard and was part of the Muggle Obliviation Squad (2003-2007). Proprietor of Greengrass Solutions—largest domestic farmer/supplier for British apothecaries since 1514. Current member of the House of Inquest and serves as High Enchantress of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement (DMLE).

——— Celia Greengrass; first child of Lord Ronald Weasley and Lady Daphne Greengrass. Born June 21st, 2003. The eldest of Ronald’s and Daphne’s triplets, she was named the heiress to the House of Greengrass. She was sorted into Slytherin House and is a proficient potionneer.

——— Serena Weasley; second child of Lord Ronald Weasley and Lady Daphne Greengrass. Born June 21st, 2003. The middle child of the triplets, she was sorted into Ravenclaw House and has deep love for music and aspires to become a musician.

——— Septimus Weasley; third child of Lord Ronald Weasley and Lady Daphne Greengrass. Born June 21st, 2003. The youngest of the triplets as well as Ronald’s and Daphne’s only son, he is set to inherit the Weasley family fortune. He was sorted into Hufflepuff House and is excellent with enchanting items.

——— Clarissa Weasley; the fourth and youngest child of Lord Ronald Weasley and Lady Daphne Greengrass. Born March 1st, 2015. Has deep desires to be a professional dueler.

In a savannah, filled with all kinds of species of Pokemon, there lived two brothers

The elder, Aalam, was filled with a fire that he could not contain. Despite being chosen as the future king of their land, his fire burned so brightly that his eyes could not always see what was directly in front of him. And thus, he would make a rather poor leader.

The younger brother, Cormac, didn’t have quite the same fire as his brother, but what he did have was the compassion and wisdom of a ruler. But he never saw himself that way. He believed that his brother would be a much better king than he would ever be.

On this particular day, Aalam had charged through a stick in his excitement that an ant colony had been using as a landbridge. Upon seeing this, Cormac had lied down and acted as a new bridge for the ants.

Aalam returned at sunset, and spotted his brother, laying on the ground, watching the sun go down “Brother! How has your day been? Mine has been quite eventful! Shame I lost track of you, but you seem to have had your own adventure!”

“You could say that” Cormac responded, stretching with a yawn.

The two brothers returned home, a large mountain of which a cave entrance laid at the base. The inside was vast and had many tunnels leading up and down the mountain, along with some that went below it.

There castle.

“Goodnight brother dearest” Aalam said before walking off down one of the many tunnels.

“Goodnight” Cormac said before making his way to his room, the moon shone through a hole in the wall that acted as his window opposite to the entrance, it bathed the room in a silver light and revealed some of his prized possessions in the corners of the room.

He laid down on a Wooloo rug. One of the many gifts brought by his cousins from their kingdom.

Just as he was about to lose consciousness he heard a voice from out the window “Pssst, Cormac!”

Cormac shot up “Carter?”

The girafarig giggled “Yep”

“What are you doing here?”

“I’m on guard duty”

“Guard duty? But doesn’t that usually entail ano-”

“Good tidings prince Cormac” A Ponyta greeted him standing on the left side of the window opposite Carter.

“Ah, should have realized” Cormac said “So, how are you love?”

“Wonderful, now that you’re here” Carter said.

“Likewise” Cormac then turned to the Ponyta “And how are you Victoria?”

“Absolutely splendid! When a vile villain arrives to attempt to harm you, I shall engage them in combat! It will be wonderful!”

“Yes, well, I find it unlikely that a ‘vile villain’ would come after me of all-”

“Halt, fiend!” Victoria suddenly bellowed “You are quite brave to venture here, however I can not commend your intelligence seeing as you are an intruder on royal grounds!”

“If this is a misunderstanding we can talk” Carter said “But if its anything else...well, you best prepare for one Tartarus of a fight”

Big Sky 3x04: Thoughts

Saw the latest episode and I have some thoughts.

I get that Walter is an alleged killer and I understand Buck's concerns, but can I say how happy I was when Sunny stuck up for her son the way she did? I did a full on clap and had a Meryl-Streep-Ocars moment saying "Yes!" when that happened. She still terrifies me, though, lol.

So it's Walt who was the one that knocked Luke out (or made him trip, I can't remember his story) when he was going after Paige. I'm not sure what to think about the whole development of Walt keeping her stashed away and lying about it to Sunny. Considering Buck's grave warning to her, I have a feeling that it may ring true later on when Sunny finds out he lied to her. Especially if what we saw in the promo is giving any indication.

As soon as Jenny said the husband and daughter were sitting inside after the murder of the mother, I just knew this would come back to Beau and his family situation. And sure enough, it did.

Aaaaand I find it interesting that the murderer wore the Big Bad Wolf costume when lobos is Spanish for wolves and I can't remember if it's fictional or real at this moment but doesn't that sometimes refer to a possible cartel element south of the border? Regardless, I am convinced now more than ever that the cartel Beau mentioned is coming back into his story and somehow, some way, I know it has to do with his brother and with each episode we get, I really do believe he lost his brother (way too many mentions of that part of his past so far).

Though I'm not a Cormac fan (I still think there's something off about him, I still want to know why he kept the knife), it was nice to see Cassie let loose a little but also be a complete badass, and find one answer to this whole big puzzle

LOVED the scene where Carla comes in - I was like 'here, it is, the big Beau/Jenny push, it's starting to happen this episode, let me start the eye rolling' and then boom! Carla walks in and damn, I can see why Beau might still be in love with her. I also noticed her giving Jenny that look that Jenny herself didn't notice: the ex Mrs. Arlen did not like Ms. Hoyt. LOL. I think it's because she picked up on exactly what Cassie picked up on a little more this episode: Jenny has a thing for Beau. We all been knew but now it's being brought to the forefront even more. Like him turning her around to shoot Scott and holding onto her, and her reaction. Which is hysterical because she's playfully pushing Beau to admit he's in love with Carla but that whole bit of the dialogue could very much be applied to herself. And I also noticed that they didn't match Beau and Jenny's clothing this time in any way, shape, or form. So I'm thinking Carla is definitely going to be a very big part of the story for Beau moving forward, possibly almost as much as Emily.

Beau still loves Carla. There were a few moments in that scene that show that, which makes sense. But is he still in love with her like Jenny says? That remains to be seen. Because in 2x18 when Jenny says that Beau is still in love with his ex, he doesn't deny it. Instead, he smirks at her and says "You're good." Just like he said to Cassie in their intro scene when she deduces that he's the new temporary acting Sheriff. Cassie was right on the money in that scene so that means Jenny was in her scene. But now, it's been a few months and Jenny is saying the same thing she said back in 2x18 but now we have "No, I'm not. No, stop it." And we haven't had Cassie meet Carla yet (if they do). So I'm curious to see what he would say if Cassie asked him about it or said something to him, and what his response would be. Especially considering the interesting parallel they set up with: 3x01 - "Are you and Cassie really just friends or...?" "Yes. Yes, we're just friends." & 3x03 - "Do you talk to Cassie about your daughter?" "I see where this is headed. No, let's just focus on work for now. No, guys just have to have boundaries." So this is now going to be very interesting to watch, on all fronts.

I do still think that they are also using Beau to get Jenny ready to take over as Sheriff should he leave the show (and it doesn't get cancelled). He's consistently trying to help her move past her anger, her hatred for Tonya, working with her one on one to solve cases, and in this episode, she seemed to really take the lead in their case (with a few helpful suggestions from Beau), even right down to agreeing to help Cassie on her case. I really think Beau is meant to be prepping her for that part of her character development, to learn from him. Especially with lines like 3x02's: "This is law enforcement. We don't get to choose who we help."

Emily is still annoying but she did smarten up near the end, I'll give her that. I'm relieved to see it tbh.

Avery is still shady. I wonder how that's going to come into play with Carla's presence now. I also wonder how things will play out with Emily and her nosiness/suspicion, and also Sunny.

Tonya is devious. Not gonna lie, Donno's little crush on her was kind of cute.

I figured Luke's and Paige's scheme would come back to haunt them. It might be a good thing if Walt has Paige for now, and he's not planning on hurting her.

Very little Beau/Cassie interaction but that's okay I expected it. I was just grateful we got the one scene. I still think there's mounds of untapped potential there but we'll see where things go. I have love for both characters and want them both to be happy, no matter what that might look like. I did notice that as per usual, Beau always makes strong eye contact with Cassie, even when Jenny is in the mix. Not sure if this is just part of Beau's character and cop qualities (like he makes strong eye contact with Poppernak when speaking to him, Gigi, Denise, people they're questioning, etc) or if it's to show that yes, there is a bond there, they're good friends, and he trusts her. Naturally, if she showed up in the station asking for help on a case, he would be happy to see her and he would absolutely give her his full attention, just like Jenny did in this scene as well. Regardless, I'm enjoying every scrap they give me.

Speaking of which, can we PLEASE get more Cassie in the next episode? Even if it's just her working her own case. It's been very Cassie-lite at times and I'm not sure why. As much as I love watching Jenny, Beau, Sunny, etc, we need more Cassie, too.

I just have to mention again the actor who is playing Walt. He did it again when Sunny showed up at the cabin. When he recognized it was Sunny, he not only lowered the ax but also his eyes. This guy is good.

Something tells me that Cassie is going to find out about the Bleeding Heart killer and soon.

I am so thankful that they finally let Beau settle on a nickname for Poppernak and didn't keep him consistently trying new ones out. That got old very fast. But I do wish they had settled on something better than Pop Star, but I'll take it.

Loving that we saw Pedro again and it's very clear that Beau is in the driver's seat now.

I was also happy to see Jenny and Cassie get some interaction since they didn't the last episode. I wonder if we'll get more in the next episode. I feel like there's still a Gigi conversation that needs to be had. I LOVED how Jenny was like "yeah of course we'll help you." Love those two.
