honestly maybe one of the scariest parts of considering telling somebody new about the DID is thinking about how to explain the introjects in the system.

like Sun and Moon are honestly kind of easy because their characters in the game barely had anything beyond a very basic premise. they're just daycare robots, not a lot to deal with there. I'm sure "normies" would still struggle with them but like... they are easy-mode for this stuff honestly.

but Hunter??? that guy has a whole life and character arc and everything within the show he's from. and he lives in the brain now and somehow has memories (pseudo-memories is what they're usually called but that seems like kind of a mean label lmao) of the Boiling Isles and the castle and everything. also for some reason his bird was named Pancake instead of Flapjack, and he is VERY CERTAIN of this and very insistent about it. which like... fair enough dude it's all made-up anyways so who am I to say anything lmao.

but it's just like.... how the fuck do we explain that to someone who probably barely understands DID as a basic concept. we don't even talk about it here much or to our friend who knows about everything because it feels shameful and weird and embarrassing. which sucks because that is a whole guy in our brain that we just never talk about and feel ashamed of having exist, and that is not healthy for him or for any of the rest of us lol. it's not his fault he exists this way. not our fault either. and yet! the shame persists!

it's not hot, it's not spicy, it's fucking annoying and boring. it's a giant assumption that's simply not true (because you cannot determine whether or not someone has DID on the internet - not even if you're basing it on outdated stereotypes)

and you're not revolutionary for saying it. you're just not. you're not badass, you're not a legend, you're just wrong and the only reason you send those on anon is because you know you'll get flamed because you're just straight up wrong.

realistically, if someone actually was purposely malingering DID on the internet - they wouldn't be part of the stereotypes (introject heavy, high part count etc etc) they would be part of the stereotypical presentations of did. it would be stupid of them to purposely stand out! so if someone was purposely malingering DID they'd more likely be the person sending the ask that "not everyone has DID" instead of being part of the majority who that statement is directed towards.

Fyodor system headcanons.

I got really bored. So. Low effort headcanons be upon ye.

Notes:

I alternate between parts and alters here because that's the language we use for our system. Also I don't believe all of these alters are he/him users.

I hated using ibis paint for this, sorry I'm aware it looks awful.

I don't have names for most of their alters outside of their roles.

Is a very bad host

Most of the system hate her because she tends to ignore her systemhood and alters.

Has been host since teaming up with the guild

Was also a bad host, but was more aware of his alters needs than the current host

He's basically the less serious side of Fyodor and is rather lazy

Not like DID is a legitimate diagnosis nowadays, but you do realize that "don't worsen your dissociation, you're still one person" post will cause unfathomable amounts of coping? DID is a legitimate diagnosis, it is very much a real thing. I do agree a lot of people fake DID but of course not everyone is, and not everyone who isn't is in a space that encourages healthy coping mechanisms. In system spaces when I was younger people faking threw me into a denial spiral until I started repressing everything, which just made things 10× worse. I still have a hard time talking about it knowing people I haven't told about my disorder while hiding everything are following me, but I'm getting out of that.

I post info on the disorder because I have a decent following built from it, and there's not a lot out there. That dissociation post was made after someone asked because they wanted to understand it better, like most of my information posts. Whether it be how actual introjection works, why RAMCOA is a bad term, or why certain things are unhealthy, I like providing information and people enjoy it. Many people do want to take DID seriously, including myself. Seeing people spread misinformation and others fall into that sucks. It feels lonely seeing no one take it seriously.

This does draw in a lot of hate or "coping", as you put it, but I don't care. It just makes me wanna post more information so ignorant people aren't the ones taking over that aspect of system communities. I'd rather talk about how DID works than feed into misinformation just to make the people who spread it happy. I post what I like and I like what I post. Believe me, the hate and "coping" I get doing this information is no where near as bad as explaining things to/debating with flat earthers and creationists lol. I think I'll live.

we finally watched the full Marvel Loki series

what really made it interesting (and why we waited so long to watch it) is because we have a Loki introject. Except we "introjected" him years ago when we were only an immersive daydreamer and so his path diverged from his source material some time around Thor 1 or Avengers 1 with a few continued similarities as life went on and as more marvel stuff came out, but he really got his own story.

Anyways, he became a headmate when we became a system. We tried watching Loki (the show) at some point but everything was pretty chaotic at the time and it was just adding extra stress, so we stopped.

Anyways, things are going really well right now so we figured we'd try again and Loki was willing to give it a try.

It was good. Loki doesn't feel super connected with TV Loki but we had fun watching it together anyway.

Loki has graciously and only a little begrudgingly allowed me to share some highlights (there are spoilers!):

It would have been nice to document these while we were actually watching but it would have ruined the experience. There was a lot of frustration with the amount of ads Disney+ has (it really is ridiculous though), some light roasting directed at me for finding him attractive, him reliably predicting what was about to happen (nothing too infuriating/major though), and just a lot of light banter/analysis of the show.

Watching source material with those headmates who've introjected from it is honestly something I've really come to enjoy. It's such a nice way to connect more deeply and it's fun to hear their thoughts on stuff.

Anon I don't see misinformation. I'm familiar with these spaces on discord and on tumblr (I was in some of them sadly for a few years, with all the introject fictive hyperfixation alters you could think of, ama) and the other comments are accurate. I was on one server about a tv show, and a lot of people including me said they had alters of the different characters. I thought any time I visualised a character talking in my head it was an alter, because I didn't realise imagination could be that vivid. I sound so stupid even saying that lol. I tried to make people stop talking about certain ships, because I thought I had fictives of a certain character, and I thought people talking about that ship traumatized my alter of that character. I was just grossed out by the ship though, it wasn't traumatising. I milked the reactions I got because it was nice that other people had to accommodate me, I was more important than a lot of other people. A lot of different food words started to get banned because me and other people thought we were triggered by those too, they were foods that were common in other character names and things, so nobody knew what to talk about, and people either started censoring words or just not talking. After a while, I left because it got boring. Leaving was the only reason I realised what I did, and that I was partly responsible. After that I deleted my profile and made a new one with a new name because I was ashamed. I don't join servers that use certain bots and things now, because I don't want to slip back into that. I found some other discord and social media people to follow, and it's nice to talk about shows normally.
