i probably won't be able to succinctly connect all the points and i'm sure it's been said before but there is just So Much biblical allegory in adam and ronan's relationship like. the way that ronan (though believing in his own god) Is a sort of god and cabeswaren is simultaneously the nothing he came from and the eden he creates. tangentially the whole parallel of genesis with the lynch brothers losing their father and their eventual becoming a family again (on the seventh day the lynch brothers discovered they were friends once more). adam being the first man, adam being his first kiss. adam always described as coming from dust, like he was the first of his kind. the way that adam never knew who he was until he found himself tangled up with cabeswaren and ronan, like coming into your own when you find the faith that works for you. adam's hands being cabeswaren's hands, which are also ronan's hands because they're cabeswaren's, this sort of father-son-holy spirit everything is everything and still they're all independent of one another. and even just the way that ronan, this god of creation, is obsessed with adam's hands, this common symbol for creation itself. the pivotal moment of adam losing the use of his left ear, which coincides with the instant he starts seeing ronan as someone who deeply cares for him (left commonly meaning temptation, right referring to righteousness). there is probably so much more i could add but i'm only a third through bllb on this reread and i have the whole dreamer trilogy to sort through god Help Me

Underage Ronan Lynch Stole Declan’s ID To Get His Massive Back Tattoo And I Can (Circumstantially) Prove It.

one question i’ve been dying to know the answer to is how in the hell ronan, while still underage, got an actual artist to give him a massive, extremely intricate full back tattoo.

we know the following:

he didn’t dream the tattoo on to himself, because a) he couldn’t control his dreaming at the time when he got it, b) it’s mentioned in TDT that part of ronan’s motivation for getting it was to see if the pain was actually as bad as people said, and c) it’s mentioned in greywaren that the sensation of hennessy tattooing his arm is familiar, like when he got his back done.

so obviously it was done with a real needle, by a (presumably human) artist. but ronan was underage when he got the tattoo. occam’s razor says the simplest solution is most often the correct one, and in this case, it’s that ronan used a fake/stolen ID.

he couldn’t have forged one himself because as we mentioned, he couldn’t control his dreaming at this point. he could’ve bought one from someone else. but again, the simplest solution is most often the correct one. why would ronan have bothered tracking down someone to make him a fake and then paid them money for it if his older brother’s real ID was sitting right there?

therefore, the simplest explanation is: ronan stole declan’s ID to get the tattoo.

it’s stated that ronan was also motivated to get the tattoo by the knowledge that declan wouldn’t like it. it stands to reason that he’d go an extra step to spite him by stealing his ID to do it. it would’ve worked too, because declan and ronan are described as looking so similar.

hold on june, you say, how do we know declan was 18 when ronan got the tattoo?

i’m so glad you asked! based on the following analysis of the TRC timeline, declan had to have been 18 when ronan got the tattoo.

it’s stated in TDT that niall died a few weeks after ronan and gansey started at aglionby. in TDT (summer 2012, right after they finished junior year), it’s noted that gansey had been in henrietta nearly two years, implying start of his senior year marks two years which means he started there as a sophomore in fall of 2010. that means niall died a few weeks later, like october 2010 at the latest. which means that ronan was a sophomore who likely hadn’t yet turned 16, considering his birthday is november 1st. declan was referred to as underage in niall’s will; this makes sense as it would’ve been the fall of his junior year, so he would’ve been at most 17 when niall died.

it’s stated in TDT (again, summer 2012) that ronan got the tattoo “a few months” before, so december 2011 at the absolute earliest, i’d think, probably more like february-march 2012. this would’ve about 1.25 years after niall’s death. therefore, if declan was 17 when niall died, he would’ve been 18 when ronan got the tattoo.

even if declan was 16 when niall died in october 2010, this naturally means he was 17 in october of 2011. in order for him to be 18 by graduation in may of 2012, he would’ve had to turn 18 at the very latest in the spring of 2012, in other words, exactly when ronan got his tattoo.

Character Analysis of the Twisted Wonderland Dorm Rooms - Savanaclaw

Thanks so much for your input on the first post everyone! Honestly a lot of you have much sharper eyes that I do, so I'm making it a habit to add addendums when people spot things that I don't.

At any rate, here is the examination of the rooms for Savanaclaw!

Dorm Room Character Analysis Series

Leona Kingscholar

To start with the obvious, Leona is probably the most disorganized dorm that we've seen so far. He's noticeably left his clothes lying around the room. It's of note that he's got an empty hangar in his closet, which could mean that some of these clothes are clean and he cba to hang them up.

Leona has a chess set with three pieces displayed - what appears to be a Knight, a Rook, and a Pawn. I believe this may be a reference to the story arc of book 2, considering that Rooks are a powerful piece in chess. If we consider in terms of chess, if I had to guess, I would say the Knight is Leona (known for it's unique movement which can be used to strategize and take tactical advantage of board placement), the Rook would be Ruggie (known as one of the most powerful pieces in chess because it can move any distance in a single line so long as it doesn't jump another piece, thank you anon for correcting me on this!) because of his unique magic being the lynch pin of Leona's plan during book two, and Jack, or more generally, the rest of his dormmates, being the pawns, that are used to set a strategic defense.

Also of note, Leona has a plant in his room. Of course, it could be fake, but if it is real, it shows a nurturing aspect to Leona that is interesting given his characterization that we know of. Minor Spoiler Warning for Book 6 that has definitely been pointed out by other people, but we know that he lets Riddle rest on his lap during the book when he's knocked unconscious, so he does, indeed, seem to have aspects of a nurturer in his characterization that he tends to hide by being prickly. If I had to read further into this, I would say it's another aspect of his motif overall - Leona has the capacity to care a great deal about everything, but he doesn't because he isn't given the same opportunities as Falena, and so you see those parts of him come out in other places.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but I believe this pillow in Leona's room is intended to be a call-back to Lions and their manes. When Leona lays his head down on the pillow, the pattern would be splayed out around his head like one.

Leona, of course, has textiles in his room, which is mentioned to be important for his homeland in the Tamashina Mina/Cloudcalling event as they are handmade and the primary source of income for Sunset Savanna. This is of note because Leona is not the only one in Savanaclaw to display tapestries like this, but these tapestries are notably similar to those shown in the Tamashina Mina.

So this is going to be a very long and not particularly important sections, so feel free to skip if you CBA to read it, but I wish there was a little bit more information about the inspiration drawn for Leona's homeland because it could be particularly informative of the actual symbolism in the textiles. If we are considering what we know about his homeland, Leona mentions a few things that give us some hints as to the location.

Generally speaking, the Lion King is considered to be set in Tanzania, and this is in line with the Hibiscus and the Baobab that Leona mentions in the Cloudcalling event, however from my most definitely not expert research, a lot of textiles produced in Tanzania are wax dyed. (Mind, I am far from an expert in African Textiles.) This becomes important when Leona mentions that the tapestries and clothing in the Sunset Savanna are woven. While it's not always a rule, typically woven clothing and tapestries are dyed before they are woven, and weaving is what produces the pattern. With wax dyeing, the textiles are produced first, and then waxes are used to create layers of dye that are arranged in patterns. (This also gets called batik dyeing).

The left, above, is a Tanzinian Batik Kitenge Fabric from east Africa, while the right is a Ghanaian Woven Kente Cloth from West Africa next to Leona's Tapestry to show more of what I mean, which throws a wrench into examining this further because we are talking about two different cultures across the continent from one another.

The gist of this being, it does seem that Leona's tapestry and blankets would seem to be more in line with woven fabric as opposed to batik dyed fabric. If anyone has more information who is more versed in this subject, I would love to know more! Basically, this is the long way of me saying I can't exactly identify whether or not any of the tapestries or blankets in his room hold any particular meaning in their patterns or colors because I wouldn't know what culture it would be drawing inspiration from! To be quite honest, it is entirely possible this is a case of Twist mixing several cultures together to paint a more general picture of African culture.

To change the subject back to the room - Leona has a notable lack of study materials in his room. In fact, I don't see a single book in his room. If Riddle is the one who is the king of the little readers club, Leona was the kid who filled in all the stamps on the summer reading list to get the prizes without reading anything.

While it's not as prevalent as Cater or Trey, Leona's room features a lot of darker yellows and reds. It's possible that Leona favors these warmer colors, which is funny considering his rather gloomy outlook on a lot of things, as these colors are generally associated with happiness and passion.

The hidden mickey in his room is just below his overhead lamp.

Jack Howl

Jack, as we know, has a little cactus garden in his room. it is of note, his cacti are flowering, which is a sign that his little cacti are as happy as could be.

This might be a bit morbid, but if I had to guess, I would guess that Jack's rug is a synthetic wolf-skin rug given the jagged design on the edges. This is only a guess of course, as the bedrooms and backgrounds in twist tend to have a slightly flatter style than the rest of the game, so it's hard to tell if it's actually fur or not. Regardless, we see see a lot of the members of Savanaclaw's animals represented in small touches in their room.

Jack is pretty organized in comparison to the other freshmen! All of his books are put away, and even his weights and resistance bands are tucked away as much as they can be.

Jack seems to have soy protein, a protein shake container, and a stick of deodorant ready-to-go! Jack might be a bit extra with his workout routine, but at least he seems to be responsible about it by making sure he's getting the nutritional support he needs to build muscle and taking care not to smell rank.

Jack also has a textile on his wall. Given the Shaftlands seems to be generally inspired by Europe, I would guess that the tapestry is most similar to Nordic knitted and woven fabrics. The motif of the tapestry seems to be floral designs or snowflakes and pine trees. This seems to be a cute callback to how Jack likes to snowboard and how he comes from a snowy place.

Like the other first years, Jack doesn't seem to have decorated his bedsheets much. He does have a bedrunner in a flamestitch sort of pattern. Though the flamestitch pattern isn't commonly attributed to any one country, it is generally considered to be of European origin, adding to the European inspiration of the shaftlands.

The hidden Mickey in Jack's room is next to his tapestry.

Ruggie Bucchi

Mr. Pig. More seriously, Ruggie found it abandoned on the street and took it home. There's a meerkat version as well that Ruggie has mentioned getting in his Birthday Boy Vignette. He also mentions that it sings or lets out a happy squeal when you put coins into it.

Also, Ruggie has a framed photo on his desk, similar to Deuce. I would guess this is a photo of him and his grandmother.

Ruggie actually seems to read quite a bit! He has books in his bookshelf, as well as stacked next to his bed within easy reach to read there if he would like to. These don't seem to be textbooks, so it's an easy conclusion that Ruggie probably reads in his free time. My guess for the textbooks is that Ruggie likely downloads them online from a library resource. Or illegally. To be quite honest, good for him, textbooks are expensive for no damn reason.

Ruggie is also quite well organized - he doesn't have a lot of personal items in his room, but the ones that he does have are put away.

Following on that last point, Ruggie's lack of decorations aside from a handful of things likely lends to him being raised in poverty.

Interesting note, but Ruggie has roommates. In fact, a lot of the Twisted Wonderland cast do, but you can actually see snippets of Ruggie and Jack's roommates space in their cards. The freshmen are mentioned to have four to a room, so though I didn't include this in the first post, Ace and Deuce have two other roommates.

While it might be easy to assume that Ruggie's comforter is giraffe print at first glance, the coloration and spacing of the pattern actually leads me to believe this is meant to be the pattern of a spotted Hyena.

Look, i dislike grace as much as the next louis de pointe du lac lover but I do think that a lot of the hate she receives is underserved. Y'all seem to think she was the villainous woman using louis and his fucked up sense of duty towards his family in order to live lavishly and then throwing him aside when he isn't useful anymore or because he reveals himself to be a 'homosexual'.

Like, idk what show we were all watching, but grace has never shown herself to be a homophobe. She's always staunchly supported Louis and whatever fun she makes of loustat's relationship ('is that a new kind of white' etc etc) is just teasing in a way that is obviously familiar to both of them, a kind of sibling bond. She even very cordially asks him to bring lestat over for dinner! She recognises his relationship with lestat, if not in words so much but at least in her actions.

Even after louis' is turning she does not turn him away when he attempts to reach like mama du lac. Louis turns up 'half a season' later, completely abandoning his family to seemingly get together with a white boy immediately after their brother (because yes, paul was not just louis' brother but grace's as well) committed suicide on her wedding day. she doesn't even judge his obvious supernatural changes and says 'he looks good', which we can also assume is reference to him being with lestat!!!

(I also find it funny how people don't extend the same amount of grace they do to any of the other characters to the character literally named Grace but that's neither here nor there.)

even when he turns up at her house after not being their for the twins birth, she invites him and leaves her kid in his care, showing that she obviously trusts him. she only got mad when he actively put her baby's life in danger by leaving the kid crying on the floor, something i feel she's very much in the right to feel like - because ya know, her kid could have DIED? babies are very fragile creatures, she dont know louis did it so he would not 'eat the baby', all she know is that her big brother endangered the life of her child.

and then he shows up at their mama's funeral looking like he don't even care along with lestat, who broke their family apart along with a young girl he claims is his daughter? that wasnt homophobia that was her being afraid for claudia because, remembering the baby on the floor scene, louis does not have the best track record with children and she still knows next to nothing about lestat but she does know (living in jim crow era south) that a white man is in no way equipped to deal with the problems of a young black girl.

I dont really have nothing to say about the coffin because that was kinda a bitch move but she obviously knows there something wrong with louis given he hadnt aged in like a decade or sommin now and she was probably protecting him from people figuring out he ldpdl in the future and lynching him for not only being black but the 'devil' or something.

TRC Cars

Thought I would give my interpretation of what cars I think the characters in trc drive because I wanted to draw them, and because I think the cars are a very important part of the books and I think they say a lot about their owners.

These are specific models that I chose based on the descriptions in the books. None are explicitly canon (bar Gansey's obviously) and some of these are completely random guesses bc there is so little information about the car. This post is also just a compilation of car descriptions in trc.

Disclaimer I do not know anything about cars so don't come for me.

GANSEY:

[... ] Gansey’s hell-tinged ’73 Camaro slicked with black stripes.

1973 Chevrolet Camaro - Orange with black stripes.

Iconic. Will go down in history.

RONAN:

Ronan Lynch’s shark-nosed BMW pulled in behind the Camaro, its normally glossy charcoal paint dusted green with pollen.

His smile was thin and sharp. If his BMW was shark-like, it had learned how from him.

Niall Lynch was handsome and charismatic and rich and mysterious, and one day, he was dragged from his charcoal-gray BMW and beaten to death with a tire iron.

2008 BMW M3 E90 - Sparkling Graphite Metallic.

Originally had another model, but then found out it was released in 2020 which is wayy too late so switched to this older one. Was a bit confused about the colour because Gansey refers to it as charcoal-grey and Ronan calls it black, so I looked up the specific colours this model was released in and chose from those. As I believe that trc takes place in the early 2010s, this is a newer car.

DECLAN:

Then Ronan grabbed Declan’s suit coat and used it to throw him onto the mirrorlike hood of Declan’s Volvo.

“Not the fucking car!” snarled Declan, his lip bloody.

2006 Volvo S60 - Silver

Just seems like exactly the type of plain boring unspecial car Declan would have. Chose silver because it's referred to as mirrorlike and that also makes so much sense for Declan. Not really sure when Declan got this car but I think 2006 is safe enough.

NOAH:

Czerny had pulled up in his red Mustang. He hadn’t gotten out of the car.

In the clearing, entirely out of place, was an abandoned car. A red Mustang. Newer model.

Bling,” Ronan remarked, kicking one of the tires. The Mustang had massive, expensive wheels, and now that Gansey looked more closely at the car, he saw that it was covered with aftermarket details: big rims, new spoiler, dark window tint, gaping exhaust.

2004 Ford Mustang GT - Red

This one was quite straightforward. I know it was called a newer model and 2004 isn't really that new if the books are set between 2010 and 2013 but it's Gansey's POV and he's obviously been exposed to a lot of older cars so from his perspective 2004 is new. Obviously it would look different with all the alterations.

ADAM:

"Adam, you want a piece-of-shit car? Save me the tow."

His new car was of uncertain make and model year. It was a two-door something and smelled of automotive body fluids. The hood, passenger-side door, and right rear fender were clearly from three entirely different cars. It was a stick shift.

“Look, just flash your lights if something goes wrong,” Gansey said, standing before the open door of his black Suburban. He ordinarily kept it here, but no one really trusted Adam’s new vehicle to make the drive across the state.

2001 Honda Accord EX Coupe - silver

I really don't know what I'm doing with this one. My only justification is that it's a Coupe, a Honda, really old, and was sold in the US.

KAVINSKY:

Kavinsky’s infamous Mitsubishi Evo was a thing of boyish beauty, moon-white with a voracious black mouth of a grille and an immense splattered graphic of a knife on either side of the body.

The Mitsubishi wailed and shuddered a bit. It was a glorious and hideous piece of work.

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X - white

This was the easiest. I think this is probably the exact car Maggie was describing when she wrote the book. She says that it's an Evo which is already really specific, and "voracious black mouth" perfectly describes the Evo 10.

THE GRAY MAN:

The Gray Man hated his current rental car. He got the distinct impression it hadn’t been handled enough by humans when it was young, and now would never be pleasant to be around. Since he’d picked it up, it had already tried to bite him several times and had spent a considerable amount of time resisting his efforts to achieve the speed limit.

Also, it was champagne. Ridiculous color for a car.

1991 Nissan Figaro - Topaz Mist

This one was really hard and I'm completely guessing but this does look like the kind of car The Gray Man would hate. Definitely will be making another post about this because it's actually hilarious how much he hates it.

BLUE/300 FOX WAY:

Give her forty minutes and she could parallel park the Fox Way Ford in any place you liked.

There was only one car at 300 Fox Way, and so it was in high demand.

2004 Ford Fiesta - Blue

This one was also super hard. Literally all we know about this car is that it's a Ford. Inferred that it's a cheaper car and therefore probably older so this is what I came up with. I chose blue because I just think it fits Fox Way's whole vibe.

As the Camaro headed slowly out of the single-track road, their path was blocked by a blue Toyota pickup truck, approaching from the other way. Adam’s breath stopped audibly. Through the windshield, Gansey met the eyes of Adam’s father.

This baby has been banging around in my brain for a while now, but the passing of David Lynch earlier this year finally spurred me into action. Twin Peaks is one of my dearest, most favorite bits of media. I hope I can do it even a little bit of justice with this fic.

There's going to be a lot of fudging of ages and such (Steve, Eddie, and Billy are in their twenties, while many of the other characters are closer to their ST ages). The plot is also going to veer off drastically from the Twin Peaks plot. I'm just taking the general premise and the vibes, and running in my own direction with it. In order to keep it interesting, know from the get-go that the murderer will NOT be the direct correlate of who it was in Twin Peaks.

The romance isn't going to be a huge part of the plot, especially not in the first half. It's mostly just gonna be fucking nasty. But there will be Billy/Eddie, Billy/Steve, Steve/Eddie, and eventually Billy/Steve/Eddie.

This week has been a hundred years long. Apparently I posted the fourth Silent Hill 2 commentary only 5 days ago, and I am already—well, rewind. The fourth video and its recaps are up, plus an extra video and a sidebar post. It's our first foray into the Otherworld and it ends with me managing to get past Pyramid Head (one does not "defeat" Pyramid Head) in two tries. Also, a beautifully staged scene with Angela, kingfisher mythology, and moth math. 

Unfortunately: OBS has decided to hate me personally and it currently records my gameplay like we're in an earthquake—not the cinematics, mind you! The cinematics look fine!—and I don't know why and I don't know how to make it stop. I have a list of potential fixes I am basically at the end of, and I will now be looking into Free Easy Recording Software That Isn't OBS in hopes of moving on with my life. As such, I don't think there's any way I can get my own commentary recorded in time to stay in step with Ian's stream this week, so I'm just gonna do a writeup of a recording that only exists in my own head. I've wanted SO BAD to get to this part of the game (please refer to picture here), I have a lot to say about it, and I do have screenshots. I'm just gonna TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENS, I GUESS.

Oh man, this is going to sound like a copout, but the best pitch I can give you is "bro just trust me" because I genuinely believe that you will have a great time going into it blind.

That being said, I fully accept that this might just be a "me" thing because I had some of my best movies/series experiences when I took a leap of faith and I went into the story with no idea of what I was about to experience.

So I'll still give you two pitches, one very vague and one more precise with just the premise of the show.

Vague pitch: An extremely original yet easily relatable concept treated to the max of its potential. The main idea is genius in its simplicity because it leads to a lot of crazy concepts that will probably stick with you for a long time. In a way, it's a very Lynchian series, not because it specifically refers to David Lynch's work, but because it feels like the people working on Severance grew up with Twin Peaks and many other of his projects. It's mundane yet surrealist, familiar yet alien, at times hilariously and at other times terrifyingly offputting. Beyond the concept and the great writing, the cinematography is also on point: the directing, the shots, the music, the colour palette... it all feels incredibly unique. The cast is also crazy good, you have some surprisingly big names who are at the top of their game, but also some lesser-known actors who shine just as bright as the other stars. Someone on Twitter described this show as "quietly devasting sci-fi" and I agree completely. Also old man yaoi.

Now a more detailed pitch under the cut (not big spoilers, everything I mentioned here is revealed in the first episode).

Did you ever wish you could separate your work self from your real self? Did you ever wish you could relax at home without thinking about your work, or maybe wish that you could go to work without being distracted by your real-life issues? This is the concept explored by the show. In a nonspecified near future (very Black Mirror in vibes) the mega-corporation Lumon developed a form of brain surgery that allows people to completely sever themselves from their life at work. Basically, they have no memories of their life while at work and they have no memories of their work while at home, essentially creating two separate minds sharing the same body. So one side is perpetually free from work, while the other is ... well, constantly at work with no contact with the outside world.

A very simple idea, but I think you can already imagine the crazy possibilities coming with it.

I'll be honest, as an aspiring writer, I'm deadass jealous of this show. That's how good it is.

you know who LOVES a bob? Gregg Araki. there’s bobs all around in his movies. think about it! The Doom Generation is the obvious one with Rose McGowan in those iconic blunt bangs but hello? Splendor? Kathleen Robertson has the most fabulous little crop: middle parted and cut right at the lip. when i had a bob, this is how i wore it. Brian Molko-style. so cool. so short it barely counts. but don’t be fooled- a short bob is very much still a bob. speaking of short, in Splendor, Kelly Macdonald as Mike sports a very cunty, sharp-edged style cut well above the chin. it’s hugging cheekbones, really. The variety! It’s bold! It’s unexpected! It’s a BOB, baby!

one of my favorite unexpected, unconventional takes on the style is what i lovingly refer to as the Boy Bob. the Boy Bob is long enough to fall into the face and tuck behind the ears, but the layers are cut a little shaggy so it doesn’t feel too neat or cookie cutter. i already mentioned Brian Molko of Placebo, probably the most notable example of the Boy Bob, but we have another example right in front of our eyes- James Duval, Araki’s beloved it boy, starring in all three of the films making up his Teen Apocalyptic Trilogy: Totally F***ed Up, The Doom Generation, and Nowhere. in Nowhere, we see James as moody teenager Dark Smith, tucking his perfect bob behind his ear so he doesn’t light it on fire while he smokes his cigarettes. hot.

This post, like everything else about this blog, is very self-indulgent. I discovered many things during its making, and I simply can't not share. So, let's begin with something you likely have literally never heard about, and go to more popular things from there:

KROSMASTER ARENA 3D

Krosmaster arena online was a video game it seems nobody played, and honestly, I am mentioning it here because I fear that if I don't document it, it will disappear, and it will turn out that it was simply a vision I had, as if in a David Lynch movie. Evaporating, like tears in rain.

I don't think anyone ripped/tried to rip/found a way to rip the models from it — and considering the fact they're pretty... mobile ad-core, not much may have been lost.

Wakfu Les Gardiens

Joris appears in the quest "The Tree of Life" of this game, which, as far as I'm aware, was updated in time with Wakfu episodes.

Even back then, Ankama knew that 1. Joris is very sus and 2. you cannot let him get close to you during a battle, or it's OVER.

It's all very cute.

There is something interesting I wanna say about this sprite, actually:

An alternate version of it exists, made as a concept for the Dofus MMO. I am assuming it was Juien Druant elaborating on the ways Joris might look in the game. The first two designs are: baby Joris (probably not used because he looks too young to be a 200 year old man...) and Welsh & Shedar 60yo Joris. They were combined to make the iconic Dofus MMO-era 200yo Joris design.

I'm quite sure that this sprite references the Les Gardiens one very heavily.

One More Gate: A Wakfu Legend

The first game in this list that actually has implications for real lore, and yet its plot is literally "it was all a dream that Oropo was having while inside the Eliacube"

For this reason, the events of this game are not entirely reliable — but are probably based in some way on the memories Oropo has.

The main contribution this game has to Crepinlore is a third Crepin, who might be an ancient ancestor of the brothers, whom Oropo met and remembered, some sort of cousin, or he might be based entirely on fiction, and inspired by Kerubim (though ehhh I severely doubt Oropo would care so much about him that he'd hallucinate a guy like him within Eliacube's fake world).

I really want to headcanon that the events of the game are based on something he really experienced, waaay before forming the brotherhood. But that's just my brain disaeses.

If this Ecaflip gives the impression of constantly having a bad hair day, it's precisely because he doesn't have any! Brother of Kerubim Crépin, Atcham is fiercely jealous of the man he considers his worst enemy. And how could he not be, when not only does he occupy the prestigious position of Ecaflip's favorite son, but also displays his dense, silky fur without any modesty or sensitivity?

So much so that today, the owner of the antique store Aux Trésors de Kerubim takes advantage of his free time to purr quietly in his armchair, or to tell his adopted son about his past adventures. Past? Well, not quite! Because when the terrible witch Julith arrives to retrieve Jahash's Ivory Dofus, and seems intent on attacking Joris, the old tomcat doesn't hesitate to get in her way. With Kerubim, there's no age limit to being a hero!

Once again, it is confirmed that the store's name s literally "Aux Trésors de Kerubim". Sorry, I'm insane about the name of the show being the name of the store.

Why are you specifically only excluding East Asians in your response? Almost all East Asians I know refer to themselves as brown. Tbh id probably be a good idea to educate yourself on yellow peril, Sinophobia, the Chinese exclusion act, lynching of Chinese people, Japanese concentration camps, indentured servitude, etc. telling white audiences that they should be mindful of racism towards “poc, especially black or brown people” and clarifying you potentially mean “not East Asians” is a little weird. Saying this with a good faith understanding that you’re not intentionally doing anything intentionally, but the VERY recent movement that tries to divorce East Asianness from brownness feeds into the racism they face by invisiblizing it under the guise that they’re “basically white” or an “other” that is neither white nor brown. It’s a nefarious form of racism that seeks to diminish the issues East Asians face, which we shouldn’t be doing “post Covid”/“China virus”.

You should refer to poc as BIPOC, it refers to the umbrella that is poc while addressing the unique issues faced by black people and by indigenous people especially.

the NPR article linked under this ask explores why East Asians may or may not consider themselves a person of color- it doesn't assert whether they should or shoudn't. i included it as an example as the anon asked 'I thought all poc are black and/or brown?' I personally know East Asians and folks with other ethnicities that chose to identify as brown, POC, neither, both, or one depending on the context of the conversation. But! i see how that says i'm not including East Asians or that I don't think they should consider themselves brown. I've replaced the use of the words 'fans of color' and 'characters of color' in my original doc and the tumblr post with BIPOC fans/characters and i'll link this ask into both as well to be transparent.

'BIPOC' as a term is intended to separate and highlight the unique challenges of Black and Indigenous folks from 'POC' in general, yeah. I still also think it's important to understand the history of the terms POC, WOC, and BIPOC as mentioned in the Vox article in this ask . When white folks use the term 'BIPOC' but aren't able to specify when they're talking about an issue that is specific to Black women or if they're uncomfortable using the terms Black or brown there is more to reflect on. This is an important emphasis that you said here:

Hi! Sorry I let this ask go ignored for a little while, it's a big topic so I wanted to answer it once I have some free time; I went looking for a post that could summarize the situation but, Tumblr being what it is, I couldn't find any. So here is a quick timeline, as I remember it, as someone who was a TRA on Twitter while most of it unfolded:

in 2019, Jo followed Magdalen Berns on Twitter (I also believe she liked one of her tweets and that's how Twitter users found out she was following her). Berns was a gender critical lesbian and YouTuber who was one of the first critic of TRA misogyny.

At the time, Jo was much, much more liked than she is now, obviously. This event caused some drama, it trended for a while, but it was quickly brushed aside and things went on. In my spheres (TRA Twitter), it was seen as kind of a bad look to follow Jo on Twitter following this, but you still could get away with it.

Jo has since explained that she uses the 'like' feature on Twitter to archive things she finds interesting and wants to have a closer look at. Many believe that she probably got interested in Berns' content while writing one of the Cormoran Strike novels, a crime novel series that often explores the themes of male violence and misogyny.

in december of 2019, Jo made a tweet in support of Maya Forstater, who lost her job after misgendering a non binary colleague.

After this tweet, it became forbidden to follow her on Twitter if you were a TRA. Things got worse in June of 2020, when Jo reacted to an article talking about period poverty while referring to women as 'people who menstruate':

Right afterwards, she made a thread going more in details about how transactivism harms women and LGB people:

After this, former HP actors like Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson accused her of transphobia, while other actors (namely Evanna Lynch and Robbie Coltrane) defended her. She got thousands and thousands of death and rape threats, was called sexist slurs, and was threatened with doxing.

A few weeks later, she published an essay on her website, explaining her views. It is a very well-written and insightful essay that I recommend to read:

She has never been rude to anyone, she just defended sex-based rights, lesbians' right not to sleep with men, and using language accordingly. So, to recap:

Scott gets shot. That's done.

Then they try to shoot logan with hollow point bullets while he's attached to an adamantium frame that's held up in the air by a crane.

They try again, bullet bounces off and hits a civilian.

I forgot to highlight it, but then they decided to drop the frame logan is in several times in the parking lot of the courthouse.

Drove a truck over logan.

People are screaming and puking looking at his torn up, but not dead body.

a doctor tries to test and see if he's dead and gets hurt

to "finish it quickly" they decide to roll him over with a steam roller.

God. Fucking damn.

It probably would have just been easier to throw his ass in a cell forever than to do all this shit. Everyone seems incompetent from the neck up.

Also, how did they get their hands on an Adamantium Frame and why use it for this? Just because Logan can't cut his way out of it?
