Imagine these are from an ask game!
🎁what’s the last present you received?
👕 do you own any dnp merch? If so which is you favourite? If not what’s your most dnp coded item of clothing?
🍸 would you drink Dan and/or Phil’s dragon mocktails?
Omg thank youuuu 🥰
🎁 this must have been a birthday present, I'm trying to remember which one I opened last lol - I think a little anthology with poems and short stories about owls! 🦉
👕 I doooon't even though I find the "dan and phil made me gay" shirt so funny, but I didn't have the patience to queue at the merch table when I went to tit 🙈 if I'm being mean I would say my most dnp coded item is this sweatshirt that I inexplicably own (yes I just reverse image searched it and I don't think the original listing exists anymore), bc it's a perfect blend between Dan's shiba inu shirt and the cat boy fever dream that happened. If I'm being fair then it's either a muse merch shirt or one of my 5 shirts with horizontal stripes (hi dan)
🍸 I would drink both of them but only without the plastic toys and cotton candy. I'll have those on the side please

in the modern au would they adopt?
There's been talk of this a couple of times before and I'm still on the fence about it myself. I think Vasco likes the idea of fatherhood and would have children if given the choice. Machete doesn't hate children but is strongly unnerved and doesn't know how to deal with them. So the odds of them agreeing to initiate the adoption process aren't promising, but if they, by some random chance, found themselves responsible for a child, it's entirely possible they would grow very attached to the kid and excel as parents.

If some people consider marimand a dead dove ship then what the hell is devil's minion to them? Dove completely annihilated with a lazer from space?

I wonder how much of the world economy is distorted by the fact that the US dollar dominates it and so the US could (if it doesn't already) inflate it's own economy at will.
Maybe Apple isn't worth billions of dollars. I don't know, I never used an iPhone.

okay, so i've been thinking about shitty story i can write without too much effort. for the sake of quick completion, it has to be a romfan -- generic fantasy background and some stereotypical otome isekai tropes.
i am considering!!! hardass shopkeeper (who had a broken engagement or whatever, like a villainess) x hero of prophecy that she has press-ganged into service as an employee. it is kind of like the 'villainess gets exiled and then moves to the countryside to live an easy life as a cafe owner' except this villainess has no chill. she's grumpy. she hates people. she's unpleasant. she is the type of person who might be accused of being a wicked witch who lives alone in the woods, but instead she is in the center of town in charge of a small yet bustling business and she takes it super seriously. customer satisfaction is very important to her.
you might wonder 'hey if she hates people why is she working retail' and that is a question that the hero of prophecy also has. this is the question he will wonder about until he levels up her affection level, which may or may not take forever. anyway she finds his broken body on the edge of town, saves his life, and then immediately leverages the life debt to get a wage slave. because she's a jerk.
they're assholes to each other, but they go on with their shopkeeper (bakery?? cafe??? flowershop) life, falling in love (because this is how this genre works), until the prophecy rears its terrible ugly head and darkness approaches the town or however the hell this works. he says he has to go. she tells him to get the fuck out and die. he promises to come back and then the story ends there, because if it didn't, i'd be forced to figure out how traveling works in fantasy, instead of looking up bread recipes.

ppl who aren't voting because they think both trump and harris are morally wrong in their policies really fundamentally don't understand the reality of the electoral system huh. They still think they're electing the homecoming queen or something huh.
having the right to vote, and not voting, because you think both candidates are fascists is in fact what the fascists want you to do. i hate to break it to you buster but our democracy is at best a capitalist oligarchy and the power we have over the current system is limited, but voting is one of the most concrete expressions of power we have within that system. it's also one of the first things to go if we become a fascist state for real. People have fought and died over generations for the right to vote. Don't you dare fucking piss it away.

Dream's hypothetical reaction to the events of episode 7
Can you even IMAGINE Dream's reaction to Charles succeeding in saving Edwin from Hell?! After everything that happened to his son and daughter in law? (or almost but not quite daughter in law? Did she die before or after they tied the knot, I can't remember).
It's going to be raining in the dreaming for a month!

Tim/Steph is so popular on dctwt not just when it comes to their past but also actively rooting for them to be together again. And that's so fascinating to me because dctwt tend to pride themselves on having read the comics but seem to have had a completely different experience to me when it comes to those two. There's like one writer I actually enjoyed for them the rest of the time it was either wanting Steph to hit every male character with a baseball bat including Tim or just wanting her away from him and this narrative that was dooming her over and over again while propping him up. Like obviously they're very important to each other but to me it's like Buffy and Xander from btvs. Sure they love each other and have a long and deep history but a lot of that history is painful to watch and if they ended up together in the end I would be so outraged on her behalf.
Which isn't to shit on the shippers, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it's bad that it worked for you etc. It's just really interesting to me because they clearly love Steph yet we're rooting for very different things when it comes to her future. Kind of similar to the range of fan opinions you can find on what should happen with Jason.

we interviewed like, literally the perfect candidate today (for another job I'm on the panel for, sadly not for my team) but also they work with Sam so I was like 'NO. I SHOULDN'T ask Sam 'hey is [name] sound?'
but because I have no boundaries instead I went into his room as soon as I got home and went 'THE INTERVIEWS WENT WELL. BY THE WAY WHO ARE THE PEOPLE WHO YOU LIKE AND HATE AT WORK.' which inevitably triggered a guessing game which. is just asking 'is [name] sound' with extra steps
(they are, evidently, as good as they seemed)
(which is lucky. already finalised my scoring so.)
#red said#I'm sorry to [name] who was like 'i don't want people at work to know I've applied for other jobs' when i mentioned i knew Sam#there is no defence i just can't keep secrets#but also in fairness Sam's on holiday until after we make the decision and we still have one person to see#but they would have to be genuinely amazing to do better than [name] cause they knocked it out of the park on every metric#like the only criticism anyone could come up with was 'they seem kind of overqualified'#they were lovely. extremely capable. had both a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience. they even had work life boundaries.#hens teeth in the charities sector to find people who are both good at their jobs and capable of switching off#so we have to meet my Least Favourite Candidate next week. Least Favourite bc they scored well on their application so i had to rank them#as my 2nd choice. but also stacked up every Hate point. cop army reservist ai specialist former city job. die die die.#like i have to be FAIR and BALANCED and i WILL be. in the event he's somehow significantly better than the person we saw today#of course he'll get it#but like if it's a could-go-either-way thing it should be today's candidate#next week's candidate is also on my shitlist for needing to reschedule the interview (fair. reasonable.)#and therefore extending the amount of time i need to endure being on interview panels by an entire extra week (hate kill maim)#that. unlike being a cop. isn't his fault and everyone should have the right to reschedule if needed. but i JUST WANT IT OVER

Immensely goofy how Tim Drake was explicitly intended to be/written with the purpose of being a much more likable and palatable Robin than Jason and then right out the gate in A Lonely Place of Dying we get the twofer of him going "WHOA really you mean it was the totally respectable guy openly trying to buy out the circus and praying on its downfall who was sabotaging it, NOT the employee spiraling over the prospect of losing his job who Dick explicitly told me it wasn't? Anyone would've guessed it was that clown chump, you're an awesome detective Dick!" and the infamous (to me) "If one cop gets taken out it doesn't matter because the police system is so expansive and unstoppable that it's become a faceless symbol more than a group of individuals, and that's what justice is. We need to be like THEM as heroes :D" Like I think overall he's decent enough but did they even try with that introduction? In what way was this the best shot at likable?
#not to say i like tim less because I think he was problematic in ALPoD#it's just personal preference that i'm lukewarm-mildly-interested towards him when i try and forget fanon entirely#like this isn't a callout post for Tim Drake#but holy shit#i had to take a lap over that cop thing#i feel like we were really banking on the idea that that the general audience is pro-cop#which i mean its a superhero comic so. unsurprising.#but like buddy i actually don't think anyone WOULD think the clown sobbing and apologizing profusely over the idea of losing his job did it#tim drake neutral-disputable i would say#agnostic even#but i'm not tagging him because i do think this could be easily taken as anti tim drake#even though my overall perception is not THAT negative#a lonely place of dying#batman#dc comics#dick puts up with SO MUCH in this one#jason is turning over in his grave over being directly compared to a cop#I guess Tim does seem more agreeable and optimistic compared to Jason so there’s that#but in any metric outside of the vague impression of “niceness” I feel like he's. kind of offputting to be frank!#tim wasn't there when Haly said the circus was being bought out#but Tim also wasn't there when the clown got in that argument with the lion tamer#and he knew about that + has been literally stalking Dick for the entirety of the storyline#so i feel like it's pretty safe to assume he would have been dialed in#and even if he wasn't he's told to his face it isn't the clown and goes “sorry Dick but I still think it's the clown. for personal reasons.

forever exhausted by the common conception that the worst thing a god could do is cheat on their spouse, and that this is somehow the moral standard we're expected to hold powerful beings too. never mind the rest - if they do not have fidelity, then they are objectively evil.
