I have written a script and it does what it should but something is wrong with it also. And i just.... Why is every line and logic step a struggle. Ha.... And now it's genuinely beyond me. Or maybe beyond me at twelve a.m. but I look at it and there's so many for and if statements wrapped up in eachother and I'm like. WHY IS THE TOUCHED EFFECT FIRING MULTIPLE TIMES. HOW DO I DISCONNECT EVERY TOUCHED EVENT BUT THEN - and I don't know the underlying logic of collectionservice.
And like. None of this matters..it's all complete bullshit. If my mum were here she'd let me know that it's a hobby not what's most important in life. But what's most important in life is gone...?
#and im not contributing in my work to anything and i dont believe truly anymore thay there is anything to contribute to#like really... i dont think society is worth saving anymore intrinsically i just live here#and im smart#im pretty smart i do believe i have analytical capabilities that could be used for improvement of things#my stuff#personal#and im not seeing any future for myself#im not even living in the present#anyway#its insane how good my life would have been for the next twenty years#now its nothing just utterly nothing#and even worse i got one year my brother didnt even get any#and even worse and even worse and even worse#and i was finally coming into my own#what use is life if - like - what the hell are you supposed to hold on to?#just a robot now really

Nationals Semifinals - Women’s Category
Kuroo Tetsurou prides himself on being observant.
"Mine!"
The scream echoes through the volleyball court. The sound travels around the space like a bullet, piercing through. He can feel it with the buzzing on his ears, the prickling of his arm hairs, the taut of his abdomen. There's very little room in this large gymnasium for anything other than your voice.
Right behind the court, Kuroo watches you as you spread your arms out, demanding room and stopping other players from trying to take the ball. The high ball gets caught in your expert hands, landing perfectly on the spiker’s hand near the net. Setting on the first touch is a risk. He can feel a tiny bead of sweat on his own forehead.
Kuroo Tetsurou loves volleyball.
He's also an excellent student, son and grandson, captain.
To him, all those things are real. Concrete.
He enjoys the game itself, the tactics, discussing new plays, trying to defeat the competition, improve his team. Being a captain is also important to him and he does it well, comforting the players when all they need are gentle words and confronting them when a firm stance is demanded. And he takes care of them.
He also likes studying. The comfort of providing right answers to tough questions proves in and of itself enough reward to someone who's so analytical, observant, smart. Opening up a book, gathering knowledge, putting that to the test—it's grounding and, god forbid, fun for him.
He's also someone one can rely on. The way his obaa-chan dotes on him, his dad prides himself on calling him "his son". An excellent friend too, with the way he watches over Kenma, always concerned with the younger boy—his eating and sleeping habits, his ability to communicate with the other players of the Nekoma volleyball team. He's the caring kind and, if you ask his obaa-chan, has always been this way, ever since he was a little kid.
So, it makes sense that there's little room for other things. Like, say, romance.
Kuroo Tetsurou is observant so, naturally, he knows.
He knows about the girls who swoon over him, whether they confess it on the hallway, with a letter or even an onigiri atop his desk every Friday for three months. The ones who don't say anything are only being slightly less obvious. The flitting of their eyes, blushing of their cheeks, twirling of their hands—it all points towards something that he's, by now, on his third year of high school, well aware of.
Kuroo supposes it makes sense. He is tall, with an athletic, muscly build, even if his body is more towards the lean side. He can't fix his hair for his life, but the more obvious girls have already pointed out to him that it's part of his charm. Plus, he is genuinely nice and tries to get along with everyone, shining his smirk to whomever crosses his path. So, yeah. It makes sense.
Kuroo Tetsurou, however, finds it all too abstract.
Maybe because he doesn't have the time, maybe because this romantic inclination has never hit him. Being a child of divorce might also factor in.
Still, there seems to be no substance to it, though.
Not that he doesn't get it, because he does. He thinks some of his suitors are pretty, there's a poster of a sake ad with a particularly busty lady in the boy's clubroom that catches his eye and he is, after all, high-schooler. But it remains too abstract.
The volleyball club, his almost spotless track record as a student, his home life. That's real, that's concrete.
The opposing team strikes and the ball hits Nekoma's blockers, flying to the end of the court. His eyes are now watching you, sprinting with all your might to catch the ball from the libero, sending in flying toward the ace.
Kuroo Tetsurou feels tethered.
This is also real. The way he can feel himself grounded, glued to the floor, like his own weight could be enough to open up a hole underneath him. The strap of his gym bag weighs on his shoulders, his hand griping it until it pales, his fingernails piercing the fabric. He can't tell if he's breathing too fast or not at all. His heart sits heavy on his chest, watching you.
Nekoma's match point has turned into a rally and god, this point belongs to this team. He's been watching them for a while now and knows how much they've grown, how they've improved into this well-oiled machine, the most important piece being, of course, you. The new setter.
With a philosophy that focuses on receiving and connecting, the women’s team had been suffering in the past two years when its former setter graduated high school. The backup only played volleyball for fun and as such, wouldn’t and couldn’t lead the team to Nationals. Now, it's only natural that Nekoma would rely so much on a player that managed to turn their last bad years around and bring them back to the basics: connection.
One of Nekoma's wing spiker strikes, but the ball gets stopped by the blockers on the other side. The libero digs, barely managing to catch it with an underarm pass, sending it high up and towards the other team’s side. It’s gonna be an out, Nekoma will lose this point, he thinks. Then, she shouts your name.
Kuroo holds his breath as he watches you run from the front of the court, under the net and onto the other side, your sneakers squeaking when you jump off the ground. You look like you're flying, both hands above making their way to the moving ball. You're untethered, he thinks, feeling himself get heavier. You make a pass to a spiker coming from the back, catching the opposing team by surprise, ball landing heavily on the ground, finally claiming this long rally and, with it, the match.
He closes his eyes and exhales, his grip going slack. When he opens them again, you're on the ground looking up, breathing heavily, clenching your firsts. Then you punch the court and let out a scream, being followed by your teammates as they pile on top of you, the backups running from the back of the court to celebrate with everyone.
Kuroo Tetsurou prides himself on being observant.
Yet a part of him feels like he's only now seeing things clearly.
hello everyone, tis been a while been thinking about coming back for some time now and i have a few kuroo fics i'm hoping to publish this year. bear with me, as i have three ideas toying around in my head lol

Some of these new Merc were terrifying. Back in 2080, some countries, fuck call them what they were now, fucking conglomerate states, tried fielding robotic soldiers on the field. They were devastating at first. More than a few countries fell to wave after wave of unthinking killing machines. But here's the thing, no programming, no AI is going to ever beat a THINKING KILLING MACHINE. During that time, companies/countries started integrating tech into their soldiers. It was still supposed to have been against international law., but the human race had devolved into purely might makes right.
It turns out that humans blended with tech are far more efficient and deadly killing machines. The human mind has always been geared toward using tools. Now that these deadly tools were blended directly with human anatomy, the machines didn't stand a chance. But then, neither did your everyday human.
Its 2145 technology has humanity flowing into the solar system, with cities on the Asteroids, the Moon, Mars, and Europa. 100 years ago, TV shows had humanity step into the stars as a unified civilization. Reality is nothing like that. Conglomerations are the governments. The riches of the solar system allowed them to branch out and grow at exponential rates. Most people live a good life, but military strikes and wars between companies are common. Sometimes, it is over territory, a new asteroid, or a new spot on the moon or Mars. Or over tech and knowledge.
That's where I come in. They attacked about 12 hours ago. They didn't know what they were looking for because it was actually a who. Me. They have been scooping up all the tech they found, but it turns out they were looking for the guy who had been developing a new way to generate encapsulated plasma. I was that guy. It could be used for a lot of things, but one of them was weaponry. I didn't tell anyone, but I was much further along in my research than I had told my bosses. I had figured out how to use this tech in everything from handguns to ship-mounted cannons. Somehow, someone outside of our company found out, which is why they attacked.
I recognize this gear. These guys were from the heavy weapons company Blackblade Heavy Weapons and Industry. They were from their mercenary wing, Doomtroopers. Some of the tech they integrated and carried was beyond anything I had ever seen. Doomtroopers weren't just your average mercenaries. As far as we can tell, only 10 attacked the base. We had over 200 security personnel onsite. They cut through them like butter.
The three trying to get me to a shuttle were smeared across the broken and crumbling building. They told me to hide, but it was too late. Hiding under a desk in the shadows of the room did nothing. I could see the glow of his cyber eyes as they locked on me. The ground shook as his massive armored form swaggered to where I hid.
"I found the target. We are in building 7G. Converge on me." He said out loud. "Loud and Clear, Major, we are headed your way." was the reply. His face split into a grin, "Now, why don't you come out from under there, little man. We're gonna take you to your new home. Lots of new tech for you to play with and lots of new toys you'll make for us." he said hefting the massive assault rifle he carried easily. "You can come along nicely, or I can beat you into compliance. I'd rather you come along nicely."
I did the only thing I could; I stood up from under the desk. The smirk on his face said he was a man who was used to getting what he wanted. Today, he wanted me. It wasn't until I was standing next to him that I realized how big he was. Fuck, he was easily over 7 feet tall. He had massive musculature; I could see the armor and tech integrated over his frame. A small part of me was screaming this was a monster from a nightmare, but the analytical part of me was already thinking about what could be done to improve it.
His eyes seemed to assess me even as mine assessed him. "Good choice, Doctor." He said. Getting back on channel with his men, he said, "Doomsquad 9, clean up any security on your way to building 7. Dropships, meet us outside section 9, lay waste to anything on air or land that moves in our direction." Weapons fire could be heard in the distance and growing nearer. He growled, "Music to my ears."

I know its an issue of having written a scene before a character's backstory is fully established, and then years later establishing a backstory that now doesn't match with that scene. But getting a flashback to baby Yagi Toshinori meeting his future hero mentor makes his reaction to Izuku make less sense. Toshinori was really out there trying to fight people off with a stick and his not-superpower of being built like a brick wall, in an a villain-overrun and almost-post-apocalyptic Japan.
He's also been a hero for literal decades in a world where not only are heroes also PR trained pseudo celebrities. That interaction with Izuku absolutely cannot have been the first time he was asked if a quirkless person can become a hero. And we never see Toshinori meet Aizawa the first time, but the only tension between them is related to Toshinori not knowing how to teach, they each have respect for the other as a hero. He also had at least two sidekicks with quirks that didn't have immediate combat utilities (David Shields - bendy fingers, Nighteye - limited foresight). Heroes who fight essentially quirkless are not new to him. The more we learn about Toshinori, the less it makes sense that he would essentially say, "you'd be better off as a police officer"
Unless he was specifically tailoring his response to what he could tell of Midoriya. Because, for Toshinori, the lead up to that conversation is like this:
"thankfully the villain was defeated before this skinny child could be further traumatized, thankfully he's only unconscious. kid dropped his notebook, oh, he's a hero fan? ... that's a whole lot of hero analysis... he'll appreciate an autograph. Oh good, he's waking up and he's got his faculties, now I can go secure this villain."
And then this skinny middle schooler who only in theory knows what a gym is and has just had the traumatic experience of being choked out by a villain, makes the impulsive choice to latch onto someone trying to fly away (requiring an emergency landing as All For One hits its limit) and then asks if Toshinori thinks its possible to be a hero without a quirk.
Given this kid's lack of reflexes, lack of training, dangerously impulsive decision-making, and recent traumatic experience; it'd probably be irresponsible to tell him to go be a hero. But Toshinori has seen his notebook, kid has some brains, he'd probably make a good police officer. Tsukauchi would be a good mentor.
It's only after Midoriya fights off the villain with only his analytics and his backpack that All Might sees he has combat potential.
TLDR:
Midoriya, about to blow away if the wind gets too strong: can I be a hero without a quirk?
Toshinori, who came into the world with the shoulders of a linebacker and a willingness to fight dirty: no, you're tiny. You're smart though, take that notebook and your stalker tendencies to the police force.
Midoriya: *sees his... friend? about to be harmed and immediately goes for the eyeballs*
Toshinori: Never mind! He's got exactly the right instincts *nostalgic for the good old days, before he became a symbol*
(this was supposed to be a post about how Izuku is a reactive protagonist and never actually seeks out improvement on his own, but that's a different ramble for a different essay)

Chapter 3 Kara
"For years I felt the weight of Krypton, its legacy and history laid on my shoulders, and I felt like a failure for never having the chance to educate Kal. But after learning about Argo, it's like some of this weight was lifted off my shoulders, knowing I'm not the only one out there who remembers, that it's not on me. Yet, I feel detached? I don't know, it feels different from what I remember. I mean it is different, it's nothing like how Krypton was, but they are all Kryptonians. You know what I mean?" Kara turned to Lena, she wasn't sure what she was hoping to find in her eyes, but it softened the moment they met.
"I think so." Lena nodded. "Although, considering that you were barely a teenager back then, it would make sense."
"I suppose." Kara swallowed hard.
They were sitting on Kara’s couch with the plans for the machine laying in front of them. It was two days after they had come back from Argo. Kara had managed to translate most of it, enough for them to at least start.
"You mentioned that you can basically control how the child would turn up with the matrix, right?"
"Not exactly, you can't control your child's every decision, but essentially yes. You can choose how they look, and you can choose their um… brain type? We had a name for it in Kryptonese."
"So did your parents choose what you would be?" Lena finally asked.
"In some ways, yes." She said a bit distanced. "They didn't care much about my appearance or gender, but they made sure my mind would be sharp, curious and analytical. Basically creating me to be a scientist before I was even born. And it worked, you know? I grew up loving it. As my dad said, I was the youngest person to be considered to join the science guild, and I bet I would've gotten in too."
Lena remained silent. Not that she expected her to say anything, but she wasn't sure what to do nex.
Kara took a sip of her water. Staring intensity into the plans, yet not really focused on them she continued talking. "I thought about it a lot, you know, how my life would look like had I grown up there. What could I have created, how many lives I could've improved, how much I could've advanced our species. But the more I think about it the more I realised how lucky I was to escape that fate." Kara finally dared to raise her head, meeting Lena's gaze as she felt her eyes fill with water. "Am I a bad person for thinking that?" Her voice broke as the tears started running freely down her face.
Lena scooted over, engulfing her dearest friend in a tight hug. "Not at all." She whispered in her ear. "There's nothing wrong about finding happiness. But we'll make sure that if we ever make this public we'll do our best so that no one could use it to put more pressure on anyone." She combed her fingers through her hair to ground her.
Kara exhaled a breath she wasn't aware she was holding. The reason the plans were not yet fully translated were not because of language complications or any math difficulties, but because she couldn't bring herself to complete it. It felt too heavy of a task.
"It's just- that I love my job. I love singing, painting, and playing games with my friends and I know that I would've never gotten to do any of that had I lived on Krypton. It was all about doing your part, and not much else. And there are still many many good things that I loved about Krypton and many problems I have with earth. But I still prefer to be here, and I feel awful about it. Like I failed everyone, I failed my purpose in life."
"You are Kara Zor-El Danvers. Your name tells a journey and your journey is not yet over. You are not a bad person for having emotions. You've been through a lot and you still came out on top. You are still so full of kindness, love, and hope. How can that be a failure? How can it be anything but the greatest thing in life? You are amazing Kara and I'm sure the rest of your journey would be just as amazing."
"Thank you." Kara whispered into her neck in a sob.
"How about we order another pizza and watch a movie instead?" Lena suggested, whispering quietly in her ear.
"Yeah," Kara smiled weakly. "That would be great."

Tales of the Underworld Watch Notes
This covers all episodes, and is not meant to be super analytical. I'm a bit under the weather but that won't stop me from sharing some thoughts I had on the newest Tales batch.
A WAY FORWARD
The advancements in animation style were VERY kind to Quinlan; I find that's a great improvement on his animated design.
This should also quash the last of the whining about Dark Disciple and it's ending being nixed/retconned/etc since the conclusion to The Bad Batch's third season when Ventress made an appearance. DD stayed canon – but the Vostress shippers may need tissues because Ventress' return came at the price of never seeing Vos again.
Vos' words are a gift to her, but the cost is her heart's desire. Now I enjoy a bit of doomed love, but damn does it hurt...
While we're never told where this spaceport is that Ventress took on a security guard gig, I get some Ord Mantell vibes. (Anyone else?) "I pay you to deal with troublemakers, not kill them!" the spaceport operator/representative says... about the troublemaker who is very much running away after Ventress deals with him and his blaster.
Trying to hide from Imperial troopers and a Viper probe droid inside a spaceport as a Jedi/Force-sensitive was probably doomed from the start. And if this is being secretive, it clearly needs some work... Don't go talking about finding "another" Jedi when you're in earshot of other people! 🤦
Lucasfilms drops another Inquisitor with a sickass design only to kill them off later.
FRIENDS
"Are you going to keep going on about that?" Ventress asks of the yet-unnamed Padawan, like she didn't just drop a sick monologue about being a Separatist commander, and Count Dooku's assassin who "probably killed several people that you knew" at the very end of AWF.
Yeah. Of course he's going to "keep going on" even if it isn't the best time. (And again, in earshot of the other passengers.)
"You act like a Jedi". Yeah, makes sense. Nothing weird about that comment. "You smell like a Jedi." Pardon?
Highsinger and Latts Razzi also looking really good in the current animation.
"The loss of life is always tragic." That could've been a major giveaway before Latts explained the job, but I don't see it making much sense for her to comment on that. The quad-range detectors on the other hand, not surprising that's where she sees through Lyco being a bounty hunter and deduces what he's after.
Watching Highsinger clear the floor with those Stormies while Ventress and Lyco sneak inside a Disney Epcot shield generator dome was great.
Surprise, surprise... Latts was never gonna help Lyco. Never would've guessed that. (/s) But she should've guessed getting rid of Ventress wasn't gonna be that easy. Of course she was going to come back for Lyco.
ONE WARRIOR TO ANOTHER
Are the B1s as space!lawn flamingos supposed to be a warning, or are they repurposed souvenirs of the "good ol' days"...?
Hey look I called it. Gramps is a former Seppie.
"Both sides got it wrong."
[Slight dramatization of my initial reaction to that statement]
Hey, gramps, what, uh... What are those masks you got on your wall in the background? Those absolutely feel like trophies of some kind. You're beefing with the locals, aren't you? This feels very Tusken Raider-like.
"The raiders shot me when I went to get more water." Strong suspicion this is a Tusken Raider-like situation. Or, the other option (that's not necessarily mutually exclusive) is Gramps antagonized them and now the locals are acting on the offense as consequence.
"You understand them?" "I am a Jedi."
Fascinating. Locals aren't Tusken Raiders, but they have the belief that the planet's water "belongs" to them just like the TR do. That suggests to me there are probably more species across the galaxy who hold this belief where water is scarce.
"You've just been fighting so long you know no other way." This is a very powerful thing coming from Ventress. I'll speculate that she's saying that to herself as much as she is to Seppie Gramps.
(Now why the hell was Seppie Gramps so surprised by Lyco's Jedi reveal when Lyco literally entered his house, with Ventress, with his lightsaber drawn and active? Surely he could have put that together when that's how they met...)
Ventress, if she could break the fourth wall: Sorry, Lyco, I can't join you. I have to show up in another show connected to the franchise for all of one episode. Also, it's a long story, but I died and came back to life with one pretty significant condition that I never see Quinlan Vos again even though I fell in love and returned to the light for him. And I still think you missed the ship.
THE GOOD LIFE
Cad Bane's flavor of tragic backstory appears to be "street urchin" with a... brother? Friend?
Friend. Niro.
Lots of indications they've been living like this for a long time. The process of checking the waste bins and confusing the droid CB to make off with some produce was very fluid. Certainly caught the eye of Not-Quite-Cad-Bane as he's been watching them on the street.
This "businessman" with an "investment" is going for gang recruitment, but it feels ever-so-slightly cult-ish to me. Think it's the delivery of "You've had a taste of the good life. Do you want some more?" that gives me the impression. He "bought" the boy's interest the night before, then used 'em as a distraction in order to hit the illegal casino.
Colby? His original name was Colby? Would never had guessed that, though it's pretty clear who he picks up some of his later mannerisms from.
(Honestly? Expected Not-Quite-Cad-Bane to use Cad/Colby and Niro as a diversion for law enforcement by leaving without either of them.)
A GOOD TURN
Colby/Cad's desires to come with the crew for the job in his old neighborhood are understandable (knows the area, he would want to look for Niro after being unwillingly separated), but that's exactly why he shouldn't go in the first place.
While he's starting to sound more like the no-nonsense gun-for-hire we know, he has no guarantee Niro stayed the same, or is even there anymore. Being involved on that job could become a liability.
Getting revenge for Lazlo who was murked by the marshal almost immediately after feels oddly impulsive for Cad, so I just assume that's because he's a lot younger when the anthology is supposed to take place as opposed to the Clone Wars series (where he's proven to be pretty deliberate most of the time).
"Have a future together" That's a pretty loaded statement from Arin. (And not just 'cause she was shot by the marshal.) I would bet she's pregnant with Cad Jr. and just hasn't told Bane yet.
"I hope it was worth it."
"It will be."
ONE GOOD DEED
Released early from Torano on a technicality
"None of that means he's coming here." Says the marked man...
"Are you sure about that?"
Something tells me the "he" in "He doesn't know the whole story." is not about Isaac, but is about Bane, referring to Isaac.
Prediction: Niro wifed up Arin and later adopted Isaac given that Isaac is blue. Just like Bane.
(While it's not a Glup Shitto, why "Isaac"?)
One last showdown between old friends who are now on opposite sides of the law; sure hope someone's kid doesn't escape from a speeder that's supposed to take him home so he watches someone important to him die!
No one ever says it, but it felt pretty damn obvious by the end. Cad Bane is Isaac's father (just strictly in terms of biology) but truthfully, I'd argue he turned poor Isaac into an orphan with Niro's death.

Detail Work
Read here on Ao3!
Author’s Note: This elderly story is the second Bad Batch fanfic I ever wrote that I only posted on Archive of Our Own and never on Tumblr (except as a link). I’ve decided I wanna cross-post my older works 🫶 More older (read rougher) fics to come 😅
Rated: G | Words: 1204 | Summary: Omega asks for Tech’s help.
Omega sat with her arms folded on the table, her head pillowed on them comfortably, watching Tech work in companionable silence. The others had gone on a supply run earlier that morning, and Tech was using the quiet as an opportunity to delve into some of his lesser important projects. Currently, this consisted of rewiring the comm in his helmet to allow him the ability to switch between frequencies more smoothly. While GAR regulations had not deeply affected his willingness to alter equipment, it had put a damper on it – especially when Echo joined the batch. He never thought Echo would necessarily “tattle” on him, but there had always been a wary glint in Echo’s eye that made Tech keep his more daring improvements secret from the ARC Trooper.
He had no such qualms now.
“You’re really good at twisting the wires around like that,” Omega said suddenly.
Tech acknowledged her with a hum.
“You’re good at detail work, aren’t you?” Omega asked, although it was not really a question.
“I like to think so,” Tech agreed, not looking up from his work.
“Better than anyone else I’ve ever seen,” Omega continued.
Tech finally spared a glance in Omega’s direction, eyes narrowed. He had a feeling that this line of conversation was going in the direction of – as Wrecker called it – attempting to “butter him up” with the intent of getting something she wanted. After a pause, he said, “Thank you, Omega. I appreciate your confidence in my work.”
Omega didn’t lift her head from her arms but smiled at him shyly.
“My hair is getting pretty long,” Omega said, changing the subject abruptly.
“Hmm, yes,” Tech agreed, tossing another glance in her direction. “I suppose we should consider cutting it soon to be a more manageable length.”
To his surprise, Omega bristled, sitting up straight. “I can manage it this long,” she said coldly. “I’m not complaining about it. Besides, Hunter’s hair is even longer than mine and he manages just fine.”
Confused by Omega’s suddenly heated tone, Tech wondered if he had missed something, replaying the brief conversation in his head to find his mistake. Perhaps he had misunderstood her comment about the length of her hair? He should have responded positively rather than try to correct a perceived problem. Ah.
“I apologize, I did not mean to imply that you could not manage the current length of your hair,” he intoned awkwardly.
Omega’s furrowed face smoothed out, and she smiled again, shrugging off the accidental slight. Tech relaxed, appreciative that he had managed to avoid a crisis of emotions without his more emotionally intelligent brothers present.
“That’s alright,” Omega said brightly.
“I believe,” Tech said carefully, “that you were making a point...about your hair?”
“Yes,” Omega agreed readily, “I think that it is finally long enough to braid!”
Tech considered her hair length with his analytical mind. “I believe you are correct,” he said.
“So,” Omega said, seemingly encouraged by his words, “I was wondering – since you are good with detail work – if you could do it? Braid my hair?”
And there it was. The entire point of the conversation, which had, in reality, never diverted from its original course. Tech had to give the girl credit for catching him completely off guard, especially in the fact that he was struggling with denying her simple and trusting request.
Her eyes stared straight into his, sparkling with hope and determination.
“Ah, yes, well,” Tech stammered, his project now completely forgotten in his hands. “Well,” he tried again, “I am afraid I don’t know how to braid hair.”
“That’s okay,” Omega said smoothly, as if she’d expected as much. She held up a datapad she’d had in her lap. “I found instructions. They are very comprehensive." The last word was stilted, as though she were ensuring she said it correctly.
She really had thought of everything.
Tech gave her a wry smile. “How long have you been planning on enlisting me to braid your hair, Miss Omega?”
Omega grinned, averting her gaze to the pad in her hands. “Maybe since I found out the others were going to be gone on a supply run a few days ago?”
He appreciated that she had planned it around their brothers not being present. While he was certain they would not be unkind about Tech braiding Omega’s hair, he imagined that they would feel obliged to lightheartedly rib him a bit on the subject...as brothers do.
“I suppose I had better start reading these instructions then,” Tech said, taking the datapad from her.
***
The smile that lit up Omega’s face made his heart warm with sentimental emotion. No wonder his brothers were so easy to persuade into her whimsical schemes – her happiness was most contagious and addicting.
After some trial and error, Tech was finally able to sit back and admire his work. While Omega had been correct in assessing that Tech was proficient in what she called “detailed work”, hair was a much more delicate medium than he was accustomed to. Hair seemed to have a mind of its own, going every which way while his fingers clumsily tried to reign it in. Granted, his attempts were undoubtedly better than what any of his brothers might have managed given the same task.
“I believe I have finally finished,” Tech said, giving one of her braids a gentle and playful tug.
They were very short at the ends, but since he had started the braids at her hairline, it made the braids look ornate although the tails barely went past the nape of her neck.
“Oh!” Omega breathed, reaching up, her hands carefully touching her hair, feeling the plaits with her fingers, and tracing them down to the ends. “I’m going to look in the mirror!” She jumped up and ran to the ‘fresher, Tech trailing behind her.
She stood on tip toe to peer into the reflective metal plate attached above the sink. It was hardly reflective anymore, dented and scraped to the point that Omega’s reflection was disfigured and dull. She didn’t voice her disappointment over not being able to see Tech’s hard work, but her shoulders sagged a bit at the realization.
Tech quickly came up with a solution. “What if I take a holopic?” he asked. “Then perhaps you might see it in more detail.”
Omega could barely stand still long enough for him to take a clear pic before she was scrambling to take the datapad out of his hands and examine it. “Wow,” she gasped, her voice soft, “they look even better than I imagined! Thank you so much, Tech!”
“You are most welcome,” Tech responded with a smile, and before he could catch himself or think better of it, he added, “And should you need help again in the future, I would be happy to assist.”
Omega put the datapad down on the table and threw her arms around Tech’s waist, hugging him tight. “I’m so happy that I have a brother like you,” she said, squeezing impossibly tighter.
Tech chuckled and patted the top of her head, careful not to disturb the woven tresses. “And I am most grateful to have a sister like you.”

Full Moon in Virgo
The full moon in Virgo is the last full moon of winter, and of this astrological season. It will rise on February 24 at 7:30 a.m. EST. The astrological new year — and spring — starts when Aries Season begins at 11:06 p.m. EST, on March 19.
The Virgo full moon on the 24th opposes Mercury and Saturn, both currently in Pisces, and harmonizes with Jupiter in Taurus. Since the lumation aspects Mercury, the Planet of Communication, there might be some detrimental misunderstandings in relationships. Saturn’s presence makes it hard for us to express ourselves because it adds an element of emotional limitation, meaning that we won’t want to share our warm and fuzzy feelings but rather keep them to ourselves. Jupiter will exasperate such sentiments, making it more difficult for us to open up to others. Doing so might cause internal pressure because it’s important to release our frustrations instead of repressing and internalizing them.
Asteroids are small celestial bodies that add flavor to larger planets. The full moon gains more flare due to the presence of the asteroids Ceres in Capricorn and Pallas in Sagittarius. Although Ceres is supposed to be a nurturing planet, it is austere in Capricorn. This implies that we need to be in control of our emotional nature and work towards elevating our lives by applying our knowledge to avoid making mistakes we have made before. Learning from the past is key. Pallas represents wisdom, allowing us to use our skills and intellect to tackle different situations. This is an opportunity to heal ourselves, but we may become defensive and want to use this energy to expand our knowledge and understanding.
Expressing our hidden emotions can be challenging, but it can also be beneficial. The fixed star Sadachbia’s connection with the sun in Pisces can help us understand and deal with our feelings, leading to a sense of relief and reduced stress. Although the Virgo moon’s analytical nature may make it challenging to express ourselves, talking and sharing our thoughts can be helpful in the long run. The fixed star is an extremely positive influence that can help us uncover hidden sentiments and secrets, allowing us to gain a better understanding of ourselves and the complexities of our emotions.
Venus and Jupiter connect the day of the full moon. While the alignment of Venus and Jupiter may make it challenging to stay motivated, it’s important to remain optimistic and realistic. Relationship issues may arise, particularly in regards to finances, so it’s crucial to be mindful of these potential roadblocks. Utilizing the earthy energy of the Virgo full moon can help us stay grounded and focused, allowing for more productive thoughts and actions.
During the Virgo full moon, we’ll be reflecting on our thoughts and emotions to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves. This is a time for introspection rather than sharing with others. We’ll be considering what we want from our relationships and how we can improve our lives. This lunation encourages us to use our intuition and knowledge to serve ourselves, and self-love is highly important during this time. --Refinery29, Lisa Stardust

okay so i have taken many a 'what batkid are you' quizzes and honestly the end explanation just doesnt really vibe with me and iits never articulate enough, so i decided to make a list of the batkids and their personalities (all decided by me) so if you want to take a quiz and then see if my description fits you better youre welcome to, or if you just want to see which batkid describes you best feel free too
Dick- you have a lot of deep seated trauma but you’re working through it. You tend to cover it with a smile and a laugh and are usually the older sister of the group, prioritizing other people over yourself. Your anger runs deep and you don't have a short fuse but when you do finally snap it is a sight to behold. You have one person in your life who is always there for you to fall back on and lets you release your anger on them. You make them a better person and they do the same for you. You trust easily and are fiercely loyal. Just remember its okay to be loyal to yourself too.
Babs- you are the mom friend in the group. Mad analytical, probably a whiz with technology, but you have good emotional skills too. You’re always focused on helping others out and are there for them when they need a good rant and some warm tea. You are a killer listener. You have some trauma, but instead of being overcome by it you embraced it and let it be a part of you for all to see. You worked through it and are stronger for it. Your net of people you love and trust goes far and deep, and everywhere you go you know at least someone. Thats not to say your trust is given freely, it is just more bendable. You take care of everyone but remember its okay to take care of yourself first.
Jason- your anger runs deep, but you are trying to improve. You find it hard to trust people because your trust was once shattered by someone who was supposed to always be there for you. You have a quick temper and short fuse but once your anger is out its usually over. (until of course your next temper explosion) You have a few good people in your life who you rely on and they help with the anger. Despite what people might think you are also a caretaker at heart and will help someone in need, regardless of your anger towards them. You have some issues but its okay, everyone does. Just remember its okay to let people in sometimes.
Cass- you are a badass. A little quiet, you are the observer. You notice the things others look over, like people. But don't mistake the quietness for lack of words to say. You are fiercely vocal when you wish to be, especially when it comes to defending those who cannot defend themselves or your friends. You have a knack for reading peoples emotions and know just what to say when your friend is feeling upset. The people in your life that you love and that love you sometimes have a hard time seeing that they are worthy of love, but you are there to remind them. Just remember to show yourself a little love too, and its not wrong to be quiet, so long as you are not silenced.
Tim- you are a mad man. Probably super smart but you live off of just spite for the world and caffeine. The people in your life that you trust are all extroverts and you are actually the introvert most of the time, but unlike normal situations you actually adopted them. You would tear yourself apart for the ones you love but just remember you don't always have to. They are there to work with you, not be protected by you.
Steph- you are a child of chaos. A gremlin. You’re the sassy, witty, snarky, confident, and funny member of your group. Despite what people may think you have a very strong moral compass and love fiercely. Those few people in your circle who you trust you would defend to the death and those who harm them better watch their backs. Something happened when you were younger who shaped that moral compass today but you don't allow the ghosts of the past to haunt you anymore. They tend to flee at the first wise crack. Humor is a bit of a coping mechanism but you also have others that are more healthy. Remember its okay to cry sometimes or let your guard down, its not weak and you have people that love you who are watching your back.
Damian- you are short. Im sorry to say it but you probably are. You have a bit of anger inside you, but you also have impressive self control and so i doesn't come out unless you need it to. You are aggressively loyal to those who have earned your trust and respect and would do anything to make them proud. You struggle a bit with seeing your own worth but those you have surrounded yourself with are always there to remind you how amazing you are. You are a very big animal lover and never shy away from a fight. You give off little sibling vibes, but you can also be incredibly wise and are sometimes like the old uncle. (sorry that was a weird comparison but it just feels right) You need to remember that you worth is not in correlation with your accomplishments.
#also i didnt add duke or harper or them because i dont know enough#about them#but if you do know them#feel free to add it for others#batfam#i hope theyre good descriptors#its all technically my personal assumption of the batkids#batkids#batman and robin#batfamily#dick grayson#jason todd#barbara gordon#cassandra cain#tim drake#stephanie brown#damian wayne

My Dear Prince,
As much as I love reading your posts about part 5 and other stuff you have given to us(I've been eating them up like a 2 week long starved woman who's having a bad case of uterus shedding) I can't help but notice I'm not seeing a lot more other parts. This is my fault ofc oopsies 🤭
May I request how yandere Jotaro (specifically part 3 but any other part is fine) would be like as a yandere from your godly perspective and writing? So sorry if you've already done something similar to this my memory is so bad.
Sorry for rambling, pretty please and thank you. 💞 ✨
A lot of- if not almost all- of my earliest posts are about Jotaro, actually. It’s so strange to think that that’s the semi-distant past, it doesn’t feel like it’s been six (or five?) months of having this blog already. I don’t mind going back to the same topic very much, it can be fun to update an interpretation.
Jotaro has a certain difficulty expressing his feelings, which is funny considering his blunt and honest nature. He’s direct, yet not very expressive. Emotionally distant yet always physically present. His mother’s overbearing nature only backfired- Jotaro doesn’t like talking about his feelings because he didn’t want small things to be a big deal, and as he’s gotten older, he’s only shut himself off more.
He dislikes a lot of attention. The philosophy Yoshilage Kira holds- “I merely want to live a quiet life”- is more or less shared with Jotaro, but he just keeps attracting fuckin’ freaks. He’s cursed. He’s cursed, and somehow this is his fault- or, rather, it’s his spirit’s fault.
Star Platinum is semi-sentient, it’s like Jotaro’s feelings are acting on their own rather than entirely separate from Jotaro. It obeys mindlessly, but often acts out of Jotaro’s curiosity. It finds amusement in picking up your clothes- whether it be a frilly skirt Jotaro gave you, or a shiny accessory it wants to put somewhere else- but it isn’t toying with you on purpose. While Star Platinum is good natured, Jotaro is… well, the intention is there.
Jotaro’s naturally introverted, I’d put his mbti as INTJ when he’s younger and INTP when he’s older. He’s analytical, likes to think things through, but you know what? Jotaro is impatient and rash when he’s caught up in his feelings. It gets better with age, but in his prime, it’s hopeless. It’s no wonder the initial manifestation of his stand forced Jotaro to self isolate, Jotaro doesn’t know how to handle bad things, and doesn’t want the attention that not being fine comes with.
When he’s hit with another problem, he buries it. He’s never had a crush before, he doesn’t know it’s not supposed to be so… all-consuming. You know how when girls get all boy crazy, or whatever? Jotaro would say it's like that, but just for you.
Jotaro doesn’t like to lie, but he gets a bit choked up whenever he’s with his darling. He’s avoidant, and he’s not good at improv, so if his darling seriously drills him on his behavior, they’ll be met with huffs and grunts.
Jotaro has a protective nature, it’s why he finds it so hard to just let things be. He’s attracted to smaller and considerably more fragile people. Of course this fragility is perceived, you could be ripped and Jotaro would be convinced you’d snap at the slightest bit of pressure. It makes him anxious to see you alone, what if a big bad wolf comes and snatches you up? Regardless of your capabilities, Jotaro thinks of you as a precious treasure that’s clearly labeled ‘Handle with care.’
He’s a very typical delusional type to me. Even if you flat out tell Jotaro one thing, he’s fixed into believing whatever he wants to. It doesn’t matter if you don’t need him, it doesn’t matter if you don’t even want him, Jotaro loves you. His love is very overbearing, although he himself wouldn’t word it like that.

Throughout my university education, I tried incessantly to be a good student and I took pleasure in inflating my marks. Despite being one of the few students not having studied pure maths at A-Level, I almost exclusively achieved firsts (only once achieving a 2:1 in French, which I then improved the following year) and finished my undergraduate degree in Maths with awards for my high grades and requests from my teacher to continue my studies for the sake of science. Now that the memory of Bristol is becoming more and more distant, I want to tell you, reader, how I did that.
Imposter syndrome
Before you’ve even started studying, imposter syndrome might set in. Don’t let the doubts about whether you deserve to be in your institution block your path. I remember thinking that everyone else had studied further maths; that maths was what the other students dedicated their lives to (while I just liked it enough); that my occasional lack of comprehension was proof that I got into this university on a whim and I was not as worthy as the other students. To those thoughts, I invite you to reply “Let’s see how far I can go with this.” If you really did get into an amazing university with students who are supposedly superior to you then let’s see how much you can take from this university: how many classes and mentally stimulating problem sheets, how many afternoons in your cherished campus until they realise that you’re not supposed to be there. Try your damndest to keep up and maybe you’ll surprise yourself and find that that drive is exactly what is going to keep you where you where you want to be. If you’re not supposed to be there: cash in.
Alternatively, maybe you got into a university which you think you’re too good for. Prove it. If you’re too good for this uni, then get a first and have them begging you to do a PHD. I dare you.
Come back to it later
When starting university, you need to build skills as well as learn content. You know how to memorise the notions and how to apply the formulae – you’ve been using this kind of skill since GCSE – but building analytical skills or learning to write elegant proofs cannot be done in an evening or with a pack of flash cards. When learning to write proofs, I recommend to you to write out the teacher’s proofs and annotate the relevance or each sentence. I also used to break down big proofs into the function of each paragraph and then imitate it afterwards. You could also use this approach for applied maths: note the techniques used at each stage of a response at the side of the page and then try to do it yourself. Remember, though, that you a building a skill and this will take effort and repetition. If you’re not quite getting it on Tuesday, give it a good go (at least 20 minutes of actively trying to understand a method or a style) and then come back on Wednesday. You might not be used to having to leave something unfinished for the evening but Rome was not built in a day and your first year is essential for building a good foundation so use your time generously for your study.
PS. A small proof tip I have is to define any theorems you’re going to use in your introduction and then you won’t forget how you were planning to tackle the problem and you won’t need to define them later, which will improve your flow.
Previewing Content
I didn’t consistently read the lecture notes before class started but when I did I felt rather proud of myself. I knew what was coming up in the lesson and therefore like I had an advantage over other students and if something didn’t click when I was reading, sometimes simply the teacher’s intonation would clarify all of it. A quick glance over the content (not necessarily absorbing any of it) is all it takes to feel smug and curious before the lesson even begins.
Conversely, consolidating content.
If you didn’t understand the lesson, the best thing you can do is actively review the lecture notes. Explain them aloud or write them out in a conversational tone as if you were explaining it to yourself. In maths in particular, this can render the abstract more intuitive and allow you to manipulate concepts more easily. Throw in an example or two if need be, to concretise your understanding.
Also, find some chums to discuss with after class. Even if you just complain about a homework problem, chatting with a friend can make topics more memorable. Don’t be shy about not getting something: your friend may rephrase the content and turn out to be a better teacher than the initial lecturer. So complain, rant, explain, or just make jokes about the lesson, and this might contribute to the community in your course simultaneously.
Taking this further, be present and helpful on your course group chat around exam season! You’ll find that other people may pose questions which highlight a gap in your knowledge or that explaining to another solidifies your own comprehension.
Even after your course ends, it could be nice to honour what you have learned using books and documentaries. I read Alex’s Adventures In Numberland after my maths degree just for the nostalgia and I ended up adding some niche trivia to my expensive education. Your knowledge should inspire you and stimulate you, not stress you out.
Be a teachers’ pet: you paid for it.
In first year, I frequented teachers’ office hours and I’m glad I did because receiving maths through verbal and illustrative demonstration helps me to surpass the abstract words on the page. If you have a quick query, don’t be afraid to send an email or chat with the teacher after the lesson. Put up your hand to ask or answer questions - sitting at the front might make this less scary since you can’t see all of the other students. These teachers are experts in their field so interact with them and enjoy their thought-provoking conversation – use it to nourish your own curiosity and to motivate yourself to make them proud. Many a time, teachers sent me extra articles or books after I had expressed a curiosity or lack of understanding to them and thus I have resources to further my study despite having graduated.
Better than knowing the content, know the teacher’s style.
I noticed when doing functional analysis past papers that there was always a question requiring a certain technique following a question requiring another technique: this knowledge was indispensable in the final exam! I almost wasted time trying the wrong technique until I remembered this and then recited a perfect answer, of which previous exam papers had assured me the correctness. Knowing the teacher’s style can give you a hint about the content of the exam (where to focus your revision) and helpful insight about strategies required. As well as this, they’re a booklet of fun problems which are tailored to your competences – what’s not to love?
Concluding advice…
The above advice is applicable only when you already have a study schedule and you do what is required to you to keep up with assignments and content, but how you do this depends on your learning style, your waking hours, your extra-curricular activities, etc. I can’t give you a study plan but I can give you the above flourishes to make a good routine even more effective and I can leave you with some final advice: don’t lie to yourself. Don’t tell yourself that something is good enough when you don’t think it will get you what you want. Sometimes you just don’t get things and you may need to take a jog or go to the bathroom to think about it with a clear mind or sometimes you don’t have the time to waste on a single problem when other assignments are urgent – that’s okay, but give yourself the best chance of getting it right by beginning it early and prioritising your study first and foremost. Don’t hope for a grade, work for it: effort is much more dependable than chance.

In psychology, the subconscious is the part of the mind that is not currently of focal awareness. The term was already popularized in the early 20th century in areas ranging from psychology, religion and spirituality. The concept was heavily popularized by Joseph Murphy's 1963 self-help book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.
Scholarly use of the term
The word subconscious represents an anglicized version of the French subconscient as coined by John Norris, in "An Essay Towards the Theory of the Ideal or Intelligible World” (1708): "The immediate objects of Sense, are not the objects of Intellection, they being of a Subconscient [subconscious] nature." A more recent use was in 1889 by the psychologist Pierre Janet (1859–1947), in his doctorate of letters thesis, Of Psychological Automatism (French: De l'Automatisme Psychologique. Janet argued that underneath the layers of critical-thought functions of the conscious mind lay a powerful awareness that he called the subconscious mind.
In the strict psychological sense, the adjective is defined as "operating or existing outside of consciousness".
Locke and Kristof write that there is a limit to what can be held in conscious focal awareness, an alternative storehouse of one's knowledge and prior experience is needed, which they label the subconscious.
Psychoanalysis
Sigmund Freud used the term "subconscious" in 1893 to describe associations and impulses that are not accessible to consciousness. He later abandoned the term in favor of unconscious, noting the following:
If someone talks of subconsciousness, I cannot tell whether he means the term topographically – to indicate something lying in the mind beneath consciousness – or qualitatively – to indicate another consciousness, a subterranean one, as it were. He is probably not clear about any of it. The only trustworthy antithesis is between conscious and unconscious.
In 1896, in Letter 52, Freud introduced the stratification of mental processes, noting that memory-traces are occasionally re-arranged in accordance with new circumstances. In this theory, he differentiated between Wahrnehmungszeichen ("Indication of perception"), Unbewusstsein ("the unconscious") and Vorbewusstsein ("the preconscious"). From this point forward, Freud no longer used the term "subconscious" because, in his opinion, it failed to differentiate whether content and the processing occurred in the unconscious or preconscious mind.
Charles Rycroft explains that the subconscious is a term "never used in psychoanalytic writings". Peter Gay says that the use of the term subconscious where unconscious is meant is "a common and telling mistake"; indeed, "when [the term] is employed to say something 'Freudian', it is proof that the writer has not read [their] Freud".
Analytical psychology
Carl Jungsaid that since there is a limit to what can be held in conscious focal awareness, an alternative storehouse of one's knowledge and prior experience is needed.
"New Age" and other modalities targeting the subconscious"

The idea of the subconscious as a powerful or potent agency has allowed the term to become prominent in New Age and self-help literature, in which investigating or controlling its supposed knowledge or power is seen as advantageous. In the New Age community, techniques such as autosuggestion and affirmations are believed to harness the power of the subconscious to influence a person's life and real-world outcomes, even curing sickness. Skeptical Inquirer magazine criticized the lack of falsifiability and testability of these claims. Physicist Ali Alousi, for instance, criticized it as unmeasurable and questioned the likelihood that thoughts can affect anything outside the head. In addition, critics have asserted that the evidence provided is usually anecdotal and that, because of the self-selecting nature of the positive reports, as well as the subjective nature of any results, these reports are susceptible to confirmation bias and selection bias.
Psychologists and psychiatrists use the term "unconscious" in traditional practices, where metaphysical and New Age literature often use the term "subconscious". It should not, however, be inferred that the concept of the unconscious and the New Age concept of the subconscious are precisely equivalent, even though they both warrant consideration of mental processes of the brain. Psychologists and psychiatrists take a much more limited view of the capabilities of the unconscious than are represented by New Age depiction of the subconscious. There are a number of methods in use in the contemporary New Age and paranormal communities that affect the latter: affirmations, autosuggestion, binaural beats, hypnosis, and subliminal messages.[citation needed]

ES Journeys Main Cast: Speed the Jolteon
Hello everyone. So I'd thought I would share my takes on each of the main cast for ES Journeys on here and get other people's opinions.
The main thing you guys should know about my version of the cast is that they are supposed to be as closely accurate to how they were in the comic in terms of personality and backstory as possible while also changing things to improve them by adding, removing, or expanding things about them.
With that being said, it's time to start. I'll be going through all 9 of the main cast and I'll start with Speed.
(Note: Not everything is fully fleshed out. These are just the main ideas I have and am currently trying to flesh out)
Speed So we all know Speed the Jolteon. The punching bag, the ridiculously overpowered Jolteon, the dense one, the one with the most ships, etc. He has his fair share of moments in the comic but also a fair share of issues as well like his romance plotlines, his inconsistent personality throughout the comic, his edginess in the later chapters, and him being OP. In ES Journeys, Speed isn't a mess like in the comics.
Personality Speed's personality is mostly the same like the comics. He's a hardworking, loyal, and responsible Pokemon but can be a bit dense at times when it comes to social stuff. Despite that he is quite intelligent when it comes to science. He often puts others before himself as whenever someone asks if he's okay he brushes it off to not worry them. When Speed sees his family or friends getting picked on or hurt he would immediately step in to help.
Speed is the team captain of the Eeveelution Squad and takes his role seriously as he makes an effort to help everyone get strong and coming with strategies for battle. He's quite analytical as he analyzes his opponents both on and off the arena to find weak spots and come up with strategies to take them down.
Speed had a fear of bodies of water so whenever he sees what he freezes up but after learning how to swim from Crystal, he got over that fear.
Unlike his comic counterpart, Speed isn't traumatized or deal with an existential crisis because he doesn't suffer from dealing with timeline crap or being killed so this Speed is a bit more happier.
Speed is a fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon franchise (In-universe franchise).
Moves, Ability, and Battle Style When it comes to his strength he is significantly weaker than his comic counterpart because 1) He was never a champion in ES Journeys, 2) Never became a Rescuer, 3) Has a no healing factor, and 4) His Turbo ability is weaker than its comic version. I did this because I didn't like how OP he was in the comic and also it'd be no fun having Speed breeze through the Regional Leagues if he had all these powers.
Speed at first at a pretty generic battle style but after beating Lt. Surge by using his swiftness instead of his strength he soon developed a battle style that revolves around his speed. He's really fast and is capable of landing multiple quick hits on someone while also being able to dodge attacks quickly. Since Dynamax slows the user down, Speed avoids using it.
Speed has a wide array of Electric-Type moves and speed based moves. His movelist and when they're learned: -Thundershock (TB) -Thunderbolt (TB) -Tackle (TB) -Double Kick (TB) -Swift (TB) -Agility (TB) -Quick Attack (TB) -Pin Missile (OI) -Wild Charge (DP) -Electro Ball (BW) -Substitute (XY) -Extreme Speed (MJ) -Thunder (MJ) -Gigavolt Havoc (SM; Z-Move) -Breakneck Blitz (SM; Z-Move) -Max Strike (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Lightning (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Knuckle (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Flutterby (SWSH; Dynamax)
As the son to a Coastal Tribe Eeveelution, Speed has an ability the common Jolteons don't have. Speed's ability isn't Volt Absorb or Quick Feet, it's actually a special ability called "Primus" or as everyone and him likes to call it "Turbo". Unlike the comic where when the ability is used it multiplies Speed's power more and more the longer he uses it but strains him, ES Journeys' version of it is more simple as it's more like the abilities of Blaze, Torrent, and Overgrow where it gives a boost in power to the Pokemon however there are differences such as 1) Speed's eyes turns blue when he uses it and 2) when Speed uses the abiltiy to its fullest it changes his form sort of like with the Ash-Greninja form. If it wasn't obvious, this is the ES Journeys version of the Ash-Greninja form as this ability allows Speed to rival the power of Mega Evolved Pokemon during XY. Speed does use this ability briefly at times in past chapters but never realizes his ability is activated during those moments. During Kalos is when Speed learns about his ability and tries to master it as using it drains him of his energy quickly.
In 2006 when Speed was 6 years old he would one day leave the orphanage to wander around town and he meets Trace who at first didn't know he was male as he flirted with him assuming he was a female. After telling him he was male he tried getting away from him but was followed and before he left, he told him to meet up tomorrow to explore town so he can show him some locations of Sunny Town. When he got back to the orphanage he thought about whether to meet up with him or not and decided to meet because he wanted something new to do so the next day he met up with him and they explored town.
While they explored town, they had some fun moments but Speed didn't trust Trace still so he didn't consider him a friend. The two eventually find Shade who was a Rescuer at the time and basically the bully of town as many people feared him. Shade was bullying some of the townsfolk and when Speed confronted him, he started beating him up relentlessly for fun but when Trace sees this he steps up and tells him to stop which Shade didn't like so he tried attacking Speed again but Trace protected him. Shade gets pissed and soon beats him up as well and in the end both of them were beaten up really badly as Shade walks away scoffing. Despite being badly hurt, Speed was touched that Trace would step up for him like that and try to protect him and would accept him as a friend. A few days after this Trace introduces Speed to his dad, Professor Robert and they got along pretty well as he was interested in his dad's work and would sometimes be tutored by him with Trace. Professor Robert would make Speed and Trace his research fellows and send them out on simple research tasks for him like finding evolution stones. During one of their research tasks, Speed fell into a lake and at the time he didn't know how to swim so Trace saved him from almost drowning but as a result of this, Speed became scared of bodies of water.
Whenever Speed saw Shade bullying the Pokemon in town, he stood up for them trying to defend them like how Trace did for him but this always resulted him in getting hurt and developing a hatred for him constantly bullying everyone. At times he tries fighting back but because he has no experience with battling he gets whooped. Shade was pissed that Speed was constantly standing up to him since he no one has ever stood up to him before in Sunny Town and no matter how many times he beats him up he won't back down which pisses him off even more. Speed tries to avoid being with anyone who's close to him as he doesn't want them to be hurt because they're associated with him.
A couple of years gone by and in 2010, Speed learns that his parents were dead from Trace as he went to a police station in a city he went to with his dad and asked about it which saddened him and he broke the news to Crystal and Flare. In 2011 sometime after he turned 11, Speed decided to take a job as a mailmon in Sunny Town. When he took the job he met and befriended Frost and the two sometimes worked together while on the job. The two got to know each other a bit and learned they both lost their parents and had younger siblings. One day, Frost gave Speed his purple scarf as he said he saw himself in him and said it was a gift from a friend.
On another day, Speed and Trace were about to leave for another research task assigned from Trace's dad, he accidentally bumped into Silvia who recognizes him as the Eevee who keeps standing up to Shade. She attempted to use Attract on him but it didn't affect him which interested her. Speed would run into Silvia again and when she tried using Attract again and it failed, he asked her why she did that to which she responds that it was test. This weirds him out and makes him leave but Silvia's interest him increased. Ever since that encounter he hides himself whenever he sees Silvia nearby but when she does see him, he's stuck hanging out with her for the day.
After taking another beating from Shade and is currently recovering another day, he stumbles through town making his way to the post office and ends up falling in front of Frost's younger brother, Black. He helps him up and askes why he's out with his injuries and said he wanted to get to check on his Glaceon friend at the post office to which Black if it was Frost to which he confirms it was him and reveals hje's his younger brother. The two had a chat about him and the two befriended each other quickly. When Black asked him for his name, he was about to say his real name but when he saw Shade in the distance he lies about his name and says he's "Alan" as he didn't want him to get hrut from Shade for being associated with him. The two would often meet up and when Speed is beat up again from Shade, he decides to teach him how to defend himself.
One day Trace came back from another meeting he went to with his dad and had some good news for Speed as when he went to the police and asked about his parents again, he mentions how the death report was of two male Eeveelutions which he concludes that his mom could still be ablive. He thanks him for the news and heads back to orphanage excited to tell his siblings the news but stops when he realizes he has no leads on her and didn't want to hurt them by giving them false hope so he decided to keep this info to himself. He thought about leaving town when he's older to go find his mom but was conflicted on leaving his siblings behind. When he returned to the orphanage he joined his siblings who were with the mother as they were watching TV. When they changed the channel to a battle at the Indigo Plateau Conference, Flare asked why the Pokemon on TV were fighting to which the mother explains that they're doing competitive battling and explains how competitive battle teams would travel across the region in order to become the best team ever. Crystal thought it sounded cool and that she wanted to do it while Speed realized that if they were a competitive battling team he could travel across the region while his siblings were still by his side. When the three went to their room, Speeds asked them about wanting to become a competitive battling to which Crystal excitedly was excited about while Flare was hesitstant but was pressured by his sister to join.
When Speed heard news of Frost passing away he tried finding Black to make sure he was okay. He eventually finds him and he helps cheer his friend up.
Shade got a warning from the police department about rumors about his behavior and told him to knock it off or else he'll be in trouble which pissed him off as he blamed Speed for this. He decided to take care of Speed not directly this time as Shade tried to get rid of him one day by having an outlaw Fearow abduct Speed but at the moment the Pokemon was about to make its move, he was hanging out with Trace and Silvia. Speed and Trace moved out of the way while the Fearow grabbed Silvia, not knowing it got the wrong Eevee and took her into the woods. Speed and Trace go after the Fearow and eventually found them and confront it, demanding that he lets Silvia go as she was stuck up on the tree. Speed and Trace fought it but had a hard time and were getting beat up so in a desparate moment, he uses the Thunder Stone he had on him that was supposed to be for Professor Robert's research task and evolved into a Jolteon. The two eventually defeat it and when Silvia fell off the tree, Speed catches her which and returns her safely to Sunny Town and after that Silvia openly expressed how she likes him and declares him as her boyfriend which weirded him out. Shade was pissed that his plan failed.
On May 30, Speed, Crystal who was a Vaporeon now, and Flare who was a Flareon now went out for a walk through the forest around Sunny Town and during it they found a rundown house with an egg inside. The egg would hatch and an Eevee would come from it and since it looked at Speed first it called him "daddy". The three took her back to the orphanage and the mother let her stay with them in their room since the Eevee had a fondness for Speed to which he names her Sunshine. The siblings wondered why her egg was all alone in the abandoned house so Speed went to Trace again who was about to go to another meeting with his dad and at the end of the day he learns from him that two Eeveelutions were killed around the area the egg was in which he assumed was her parents. He tells this news to Crystal and Flare and they decided not to say anything about it to her now but know they'll have to eventually.
In 2012, Shade was fired from his Rescuer job as all the stuff he's done to the town and Speed has finally caught up with him as the police department heard of what he's done. Shade blames Speed as ever since he met him things have not gone his way and so one day while Speed was alone in town waiting for Black he is confronted by him and proceeds to start beating him up but because of the fighting lessons he learned from Black he fought back. As the two fought, Black who was an Umbreon now saw what was happening and was about to step in to help Speed but when he hears Shade call him with his actual name it confused him but then he realizes he was lied to again which angered and hurt him that another Pokemon he thought he could trust lied to him again. Speed just barely wins the fight against Shade as the Absol limps away after being humiliated by him but as soon as the fight was over he was confronted by Black who yells at him for lying to him about who he really was. Speed tried to explain himself but Black didn't want to hear any of it and stormed off and Speed was left there standing alone. The two didn't see each other for weeks but after some time, Speed wanted to apologize to Black and come clean with him so he heads to where his house is but to his shock his house was vacant and for sale as he had moved away. Speed was very upset as now he couldn't try to mend his friendship with Black.
In 2014 sometimes after Flare turned 13, Speed filled out the paperwork to create their competitive battling team which is called the "Eeveelution Squad". After submitting the paperwork the three siblings would talk about how exciting and nervous it was gonna be for them to go out traveling and as they talked about this Sunshine overheard them. Sunshine asked them about what they were talking about and Speed tells her they'll be going away for a long time soon which in response she asks if she can come with them and while Speed was against it at first he hesitantly lets her tag along after being convinced by Crystal. A few days later a letter came for the three siblings and when they opened it a form was in it that approved the creation of their team and that they're officially one now. They decided to wait till April to begin their journey.
One day, Trace asked Speed if he wanted to join his competitive battling team but he declined as he revealed he had formed one with his siblings so Trace declares them as rivals in a friendly way to which Speed goes along with.
On April 1, 2014, Speed, Crystal, and Flare begin their journey as a competitive battling team.
Speed's Journey In The Beginning, Speed mostly battled since Crystal always lost due to not taking battles seriously and Flare refuses to fight. When Speed fought Lt. Surge he lost at first in a battle of strength however after coming up with a plan to use the swiftness of a Jolteon and training for a bit he came back for a rematch and won which after this point he became fond of his speed-based battle style.
In Adventures in the Orange Islands, Speed was fearing for his life every time he and his siblings travelled between islands. He would get over this fear though when Crystal decides to teach him how to swim and when he gains the courage to face his fear when someone's in danger while in the water.
In Gold and Silver, Speed was against the idea of letting someone new join their team but when he met Pearl and gave her encouragement to keep going for her dream, he invites her to the team so that they can help her. Speed and Pearl form a bond over the course of their Johto journey and he trusts her enough to tell her about the real reasoning behind why they're traveling which was to find their mom which he still hasn't told Crystal and Flare about.
In Ruby and Sapphire, Speed wants to try to be more of a leader since he is the team captain of the Eeveelution Squad. He has trouble with trying to be a leader as at times nobody listens to him and when he makes strategies they're usually in a very specific way that doesn't suit everyone else but him. Speed eventually learns that as a leader he needs not have everyone do things his way and to trust his teammates and their abilities from Crystal since she trusts everyone with their abilities and works together with them to come up with appeals for Contest that works for them.
In Diamond and Pearl, Speed's past comes to haunt him in the form of Shade and Black being in the Sinnoh region. Speed and Shade's hatred towards each other remained the same from years ago and during the team's Sinnoh journey he slowly breaks him by making him question his ideals as a team and himself as a battler and a leader. Even by the time of the Lily of the Valley Conference, Speed was not ready to defeat Shade in battle. When Speed sees Black again he tries to talk to him and explain himself but he just didn't want to hear it. Despite that, the two would run into each other a lot and sometimes fight side-by-side. Eventually they talk things out mend their friendship. Like in the comics, Speed and Lazuli have beef with each other when they first meet and would continue to have beef with each other for a while until they learn about each other's past and start over as friends.
After the Battle Frontier, Speed became obsessed in XY with trying to win and getting stronger which made him lose himself a bit but he eventually snaps out of that mindset. He also finally learns about his Turbo ability which makes him as strong as Mega Evolved Pokemon so he wants to master it in order to use it.
In Sun & Moon, Speed learns to take things slowly instead of rushing through life and quickly going into battle. He learns to appreciate life as well the Pokemon he cares about, his team who he begins to see as his found family. Speed gets to meet his dad and uncle thanks to Tapu Fini and gets closure with them. Also before the Alola journey, Speed along with Crystal and Flare realized that Mollie is their mom after spending time with her during vacation and after seeing their DNA samples matched, they tell her that they're her children and the family is reunited.
In Master Journeys, when the Eeveelution Squad were struggling with their battles in the Ultra Class he made the decision for the team to split up in order to train and that they'll reunite again in a couple of months. During the split training he does end up regretting making that decision but has no choice but to continue training on his own since everyone else doing so. He does apologize to everyone for making that decision after they reunite. During the split training he battles Shade in a one-on-one battle and defeats him. When Speed learned it was Team Rocket who killed his parents so he would have a deep hatred towards them and would attempt to kill Giovanni during the Rainbow Rocket arc but is stopped by Crystal and Flare.
So that's Journeys Speed. What do you think of him? Leave your thoughts as I like reading what other people say and don't mind getting feedback. I'll make Journeys Crystal's post soon. Until then, bye!

All in all I'm definitely improving
I think it's easy to lose your mind when you're almost unemployed (I have a few patients but like, five to six patients does not a thriving practice makes). I'm not writing as I thought I would but I updated my substack. I wrote in my journal today. I have two weeks of finally waking up before 9 am.
Yeah maybe going back to writing it's difficult when I'm worried about money and it's hard to not see what I'm doing as "nonsense that will give me no money". I understand writing should be a practice where you don't expect money (because you're in for a disappointment). But well, it's hard.
I don't want to pick whatever soul crushing job there exists. I'm thinking of virtual assistant on a specific platform, but they check your internet connection and mine is really shitty (thanks vzla). So I'm waiting for a better internet connection, which should come soon.
I need to be able to be patient and open but I'm a very action oriented person. I always saw life as a series of complicated decisions I had to keep making constantly without thinking much about it. That brought me... So much pain. But waiting makes me nervous. It's difficult to separate being idle from just thinking things through. No one is pressuring me to work or make money. My deadbeat father now sends me money, which is enough to survive. Not to thrive but at least I won't starve.
Actually, scratch that. My family is disappointed in me. My mom's side. I was always smart and I was supposed to work to make the family better. And a part of me thinks that well, I don't have to follow that. Fuck them. But the problem is that I do want to follow that. I like when my grandma asks for something and she says take my card and I say I don't need that. I like to buy groceries, I like to pay for services.
Being autistic makes full time jobs very complex to me. But high thinking jobs like being a psychologist are also a different kind of hell that I know is not sustainable in the long run. People all around me thought that I wasn't going to do that, because I'm obviously not cut for it. Some fellow psychologist giggle when I say giving therapy is the easiest option of what to do with the degree. But it's so hard to get patients! Isn't working on a company easier? Easier for whom? I would fucking hate that environment. Working on an uni was already soul crushing when they made me survey and follow students with "issues". It was really gross, and it came from a place of 'helping the students'. Imagine coming from a boss that will legit put money above all. Also, getting patients is a thing of word of mouth. You talk with people and they see your demeanor and will send you people and you will get patients. How is that not easier? Yeah it's annoying that any person that meets you speaks about the potential of being your patient but. You see my point. It is easier. You're doing what a psychologist "does".
Someone asked me why I'm not in investigation then. Sure, I don't know anyone? I'm starting to hate psychology, which is a clear way of not knowing how the fuck to get into those conversations. Like going for investigation is easy.
I do have an analytical mind and I'm a good writer. But academia in the uni I went to is tough and I ended up hating my uni for all the trauma I had to endure there. So yeah, being a researcher is not on the table right now because I. Just. Wouldn't know how to start. I was crashing out hard when I did the undergrad thesis, just going through the motions with my partner.
Also, because of the aforementioned HELL of a uni my grade sucks ass. Everyone's. Because no teacher in that hell uni was content unless everyone passed with the minimum note. So the idea of going to a master's degree interview (the easiest way to keep of the research track) and having to explain my plans (I don't have any) how am I going to contribute to psychology (I fucking hate y'all) and why my grades suck (I graduated in hell) it's just... So hellish it makes me a bit sick in the mouth
Everyone could see this result. Everyone also pushed me to finish my degree because well "after you finish it at least you'll have something"
Ok. Thanks I guess. Doing 70$ aprox. a week is more than I'd make working on a store I'll give you that.
But I have like. Dreams and stuff you know? I wanna cry. I know someone with my qualifications is winning much more money than I do. But I'm so exhausted. And that exhaustion doesn't let me work on my writing, which is the only other thing I've ever wanted to do (well that and learning languages, but I learn languages so. At least I'm not letting all my dreams die).
I've thought about giving English lessons but I hate children 😭 they make me awkward, I don't know how to speak with them. When they like me it is actually worse because they always scare me when they hug me (because they are small...). I also know that if I liked children there would be many many jobs available to me. I know so many things, I could teach young people. Oh, but I can't.
Anyways. Maybe I'm just a lazy privileged autistic that doesn't want to grind. But today I pulled my hair again. I don't like that. Im anxious, I'm really worried about my future about the things I want to do about the passage of time. And I keep. Avoiding the document.
It's difficult for me to write without clear ideas. In college and in my fanfics, I always wrote in my mind before putting stuff to page. Now, it's like I wrote everything easy and there's a fog that doesn't let me see what's missing. The mc other story. The resolution of a romantic side plot. The segway to that conversation I already wrote (I'm not afraid to kill my darlings, but I just feel something is missing).
I don't need to write. I just need to reread the whole thing tomorrow. I guess if I put that as a goal, it shouldn't be difficult. 🥲
I'm slowly getting back to my senses. But it's, so so slow. So slow I'm getting desesperate. I wanna push myself harder, faster. But I stop myself. We cannot go through this again. It cannot be through the mechanisms that got you into this prerogative. You will survive. You will thrive. You will write from a place of love for the craft. It will come. You just have to be patient.
Just as you're managing to wake up earlier now, you will manage to make writing a habit. You just need time. Something to change. A feeling, a better place. A sudden shift. You will find it.
Just be patient and try new things.

it was his ingenuity and problem solving skills that helped him become a respected member of their community, eventually leading it as he grew of age to do so.
his parents kept their supernatural heritage a secret. he didn't know of his abilities until he was in his late 20s. by then, the spanish had been well into their conquest — major cities had fallen, and many of the farmers were going into war. he was plagued by gruesome nightmares at the time and slowly started to realize that he was experiencing the dreams of people several towns over. it wasn't until he walked into his own father and mother's dreams that their heritage was known to him.
it was too late when he realized that his tendency to involuntarily see into peoples dreams meant that their time was soon to end. his parent's had known from the moment they made contact in their dreams, but instead of telling him that they were soon to pass, they did the best that they could with what little time they had left to train him of his abilities.
