Just saw this and maybe I'm crazy but I can just perfectly imagine this being Tobirama and Izuna.

Pre-village (that Izuna is obviously part of because he never died and he never will as far as I'm concerned) Tobirama and Izuna run into each other while on the run from someone (I can't think of who right now) so they're both taking shelter in the same cave trying to stay hidden and Izuna offers to take night watch but Tobirama says 'I might as well. I think I might have narcolepsy.’

Izuna is instantly skeeved out. But also insanely curious what taking the night watch has to do with having the hots for dead people. Unfortunately he really has no choice but to trust that Tobirama won't kill him in his sleep and do unthinkable things, if only so that if they come across the (random villains) again they have a chance at surviving the overwhelming numbers.

Anyway years go on Izuna never lets it go, big part of the reason he doesn't want peace. He's just too creeped out by Tobirama. They finally have peace talks and Izuna just straight up asks 'do you still fancy dead people?’

Everyone stares at him in shock. No one knows what to say. The entire table is silent.

'What?' Is all Tobirama can say.

Izuna goes on to explain their conversation and Tobirama just face palms and says 'narcolepsy, narcolepsy you idiot. You seriously thought I said necrophilia??? And then you stayed in that cave for 2 days after that? I would have gone running. But to answer the question you should have been asking. No I don't. I think it was just a bad reaction to the food pills I was trying to develop.'

Everyone is still silent. Just watching them.

Izuna let's add a huge breath of air and says, 'that has been bothering me for years. I always wondered how that big tree of a brother of yours would just let that go on.’

Madara shoots him a look ' Wait is this why you kept insisting that the Senju couldn't be trusted??’

And then they all together discovered that the entire reason that Izuna was so against peace was because of a misunderstanding 5+ years ago. He'd agreed with Madara for years that it would be better for their people, but he just couldn't trust that they weren't all creeps.

It becomes a running joke between them, until one day, years after getting together Izuna asks 'Would you still love me if I was dead?' Tobirama responds, 'I would become a necrophiliac for you.’

tobirama (most likely) creating reanimation out of his deep rooted fear and trauma of his dead brothers. madaras only memento of izuna being his eyes. his eternal mangekyo having izunas design combined w his.

Speaking of Izuna's characterization (and imo SP fucking up one of my fav characters in the naruto anime. Again.)—While I like that the anime expanded Izuna's otherwise 2 min appearance, I have a gripe about the battle scene where he was killed.

While I agree that Izuna takes pride in his lineage & sharingan, I highly doubt he would lower his guard the way he did and think that Tobirama was attacking blindly.

Like after years (maybe more than a decade at that point) of fighting Tobirama, surely he already knows Tobirama is a sensor and Izuna would be smart enough to know Tobirama is not just throwing a blind attack?

Anyway, in my headcanon, Izuna actually knows that Tobirama is up to something and attacking with another one of his jutsu but obviously he doesn't know what it is.

And Tobirama was actually aiming for the kill with hiraishingiri but Izuna somewhat dodged it (not completely obviously. He may not be as fast as Tobirama but I imagine Izuna's fast enough to be able to keep up with him) and instead of an immediate kill, he dealt a mortal blow instead?

Because in my opinion Izuna being anything less (in terms of intelligence and battle skills) is an insult not just to his character but Tobirama's too. After all, it's stated in the data book that Tobirama and Izuna were rivals and equals.

It was also stated in canon that Izuna is second only to Madara in terms of power in their clan. Now we don't know how big the actual gap in power is, but it's still the Uchiha clan and they both had mangekyo sharingan so...

Anyway, the point is, I don't like how the anime made it seem like Izuna lowered his guard due to arrogance when he was likely just caught off guard by hiraishingiri. (Also don't like how some think that Izuna is the weakest of the four founders or that he's weaker than Tobirama. It makes me :/)

imagine after years of village life and everyone has calmed down enough that tragic things are funny again whenever mdr doesn't wanna listen to edo tensai izuna he does the brother bear "sometimes i can still hear his voice" joke and its such a dad joke he repeats it so often bc he thinks it's so funny and izn is sooooooo done with it and he'd yell back "quit telling people i'm dead" and tbrm next to him is like "technically--" and he does it every time too and izn is screaming how did he get stuck in the middle of this fkin comedy duo

i don't think i'll ever get truly used to how silly it looks when idols finish their solo/unit dancing parts and just Walk Around the next unit dancing. i ASSUME it's to conserve energy, and if you only focus on those that are dancing at the moment, it's not that obvious, but as a non-dancer, you can kind of see the choreo is made with being recorded, not necessarily seen live, in mind. because when those guys finish their unit part, they're just out of frame when the new guys enter. except the stage/practice room doesn't have frames, and we can see everything. especially when we're watching solo fancams. this guy here didn't even get to go to the sides, he just walked in a semi-circle. sigh
