Can we submit unpopular opinions and you either agree or disagree w/ them?! Warning - mine are VERY unpopular! 1. Logan/Rory had a MUCH better relationship than Luke/Lorelai. Logan/Rory communicate better (by this show's low standards - lol), they're happy and affectionate and emotionally supportive and intellectually compatible and have a perfect balance of differences and similarities. Luke/Lorelai are just too different to connect with each other, can't even have a real conversation, and almost never seemed truly happy as a couple. 2. Lorelai should have dumped Luke after he lied for months about April's existence. 3. I still love and relate to Rory. She's very flawed, but she still means a lot to me and I actually prefer her to Lorelai and Emily. (How's THAT for unpopular?!) 4. In some ways I prefer the later seasons of GG to the earlier ones (that's probably the most unpopular of all!) And I love the very hated Season 7! 5. NOT defending the cheating, but Revival Rogan actually solidified for me that Rory and Logan have a lifelong love and are soulmates. 6. I will never get why the fandom has such excessive love for Luke and intense hatred for Dean when they have almost exactly the same strengths and flaws: they're both loyal, hardworking, generous, down to earth etc but angry, bitter, jealous, temperamental and uncommunicative. Luke in general is great in a crisis but would be terrible to spend your day-to-day life with, and while he's not a bad person, I'll never get why everyone thinks he's some sort of ideal parnter!

I agree with everything you said!! putting my answers under read more for those who don't want to read anti luke/javaj*nkie stuff

1 - a big yes. rogan, unlike most couples on the show, actually look happy most of the time. it also seems like they do a lot of fun things together (seeing movies, plays, going on trips...) whereas luke and lorelai...bicker at the diner?

2 - I'll give you an even more unpopular opinion, she should've dumped him after the wedding vow renewal. Chris being a jerk that night was not her fault and luke shouldn't have made her feel like it was. she was begging for his forgiveness and it was so sad bc she had nothing to be forgiven for. but yes, the April thing should've been the point of no return.

3 - me too tbh. Rory will always be my favourite character.

4 - YES. later seasons > earlier seasons is the hill I will die on. I'll never understand the hate for s7 I think it's nice and comforting and I love seeing lorelai/rory/chris as a family.

5 - yep, it would've been different if they were doing that in their 20s but they're in their 30s and still can't let each other go. if asp wasn't such a killjoy she'd let these soulmates be happy.

6 - interesting point!! never thought about this comparison but I see what you mean. except I think Dean might even be better than luke bc at least he was a teenager/young adult when he acted so poorly. he also had moments when he was very self aware so i'll give him that. and in ayitl he seems like he got his life together and matured a lot.
