Oh Anon, this is my favorite topic to explore via fanfic. It's ripe with so many good scenarios! Did she notice anything between them during season one, did she notice anything during season 2? (she was quite stressed and busy during these times, so I'd wager no).

Did she make little observations that led her to a big realization or did jancy hit her over the head with it once they'd been revealed? Idk, but it is so fun because we KNOW Joyce loves Nancy and loves that she loves Jonathan and doesn't even mind when she catches Nancy spending the night. Like Jonathan and Nancy are not subtle, season 3 taught us that.

It's the best. And I'm glad we don't have a definite answer on how she found out because now we get to play around with it for all eternity.

...I am partial, though, to the idea that Joyce comes home from work one day soon after the events of season 2 to find Nancy on her couch. At first she's confused but after watching them interact for a moment, it all clicks and she goes:

She then invites Nancy to stay for dinner and the rest is history.

Okay so I had this really cool idea for a fic. Let it be known right now that I am not good at writing, lord knows I’ve tried 😂

Anyway, ENJOY

Chrissy, Nancy, Robin and Max form a band. To Eddie's surprise.

They are in highschool and there's a talent show. Eddie and Chrissy are friends verging on a relationship, been best friends for a while and flirting and holding hands for ages.

He has been talking about Corroded Coffin performing in the talent show and they've been practicing for weeks. Chrissy after being to so many band practices and admiring the boys play decides she really wants to do something similar, even if it's just a one time thing. She's been trying to catch Eddie's eye and to initiate something that will finally catch his attention and make him see her as she truly wants him too. So, she forms a girl band, and this is what they perform (minus the hatred and the whole ex girlfriend thing in Scott Pilgrim).

She dresses exactly like Envy, and imagine Robin, Nancy and Max are all dressed pretty grungy too. She’s never done anything like this before, it the thought of her mothers face if she saw what she looked like makes her love it even more. She thinks to herself how she’s especially HATE the red strappy heels she’s wearing. Probably call her a slut or a whore. Excellent.

Not only does this catch Eddie's eye but it has Jonathan, Lucas and Vickie basically swooning for their girls up there in utter shock and disbelief.

As soon as they finish and walk backstage, Eddie runs to Chrissy, picks her up, spins her around and simply says "Fuck it" before kissing her, crashing his lips into hers. A kiss that the two have experienced only in dreams. It feels so right, like every part of them fits like a lot piece of a puzzle. They don’t care about the fact that they are stood back stage and there are swarms of people around them. It’s like the world has stopped.

Until they hear a whistle which quietens the entire space.

“JESUS IT WAS ABOUT DAMN TIME” Steve yells with raised hands

“STEVE” Robin says through gritted teeth as she slaps him around the back of the head

“OW! Sorry MOM” Steve says annoyed

The two quickly pull away before bursting into hysterical laughter. Chrissy is kneeling on the floor gasping for air while Eddie is wiping away tears drooped over her, while soon enough everyone else is joining in.

In that moment everything feels right. They are with their friends, they love each other, and they are happy. And for the first time Chrissy feels like, Chrissy. Like she’s beaten the final boss and unlocked the treasure. She feels like Sandy at the end of grease when she wants to show Danny who she really is. Who she can be. And for Eddie? Seeing his face out there when he finally recognised her was the most exhilarating feeling.

“Eddie that felt so amazing! I feel like I could do anything!!”

Eddie picks her up and swings her around leaving her cackling and giggling

“I’m so proud of you sweetheart! You were like a literal GODDESS up there!”

Chrissy blushes and feels the confidence in her about to burst out like lightning

Eddie leans down and whispers in her ear “please tell me you are keeping those?” he says as he points at the dress and shoes

Chrissy laughs playfully “For you? of course”

Eddie bites his lip and pulls Chrissy through a door in the corner that leads to a prop/workshop closet while she sneakily runs in behind him.

Placing Chrissy infront of him, Eddie stands back looking at her like he was looking at the Mona Lisa in the Louvre. Looking her up and down running his hands through his hair, in total disbelief at the sight of her and the fact she kissed him. And he kissed her. Like he needs a moment to take her in.

“Eddie what are you doing? Do I have something on my dress?”

“Mmm nope, just stay exactly how you are. I need to take a mental picture”.

She laughs and slaps him on the shoulder before pulling him down into a passionate, longing kiss. A kiss so full of want and need that she almost moans in desperation.

“Oh so this is how we’re playing it?” Eddie says laughing mid kiss

Chrissy nods “mhmm” and carries on kissing before kicking the door closed.

“Huh, wonder what Romeo and Juliet are up to in there” Steve says wiggling his eyebrows at Robin trying to gross them all out.

“EW STEVE YOU CREEP” Robin yells pushing him and joining the rest of the girls and the guys in disgust.

The rest of the Corroded Coffin Boys, The Freshman and the Girls all look at Steve in disgust before bursting into laughter after hearing a crash from the closet.

“Yeah guys let’s go before we hear something we regret” Nancy says through laughs as she leads them all out with Jonathan.

“Well, whatever happens in there, thank god!”

What can I say… The Byers and the Wheelers were made for each other. ❤️

I can’t get over this...

 The fact that Will is so inspired by Mike’s stories that he draw pics to bring them to life- and the fact that Mike keeps ever drawing Will’s ever given him (that depicts his stories) is so cute. Mike wants to be a writer and Will wants to be a comic book artist- and they’re already meshing their career goals together. My god, just get married and make graphic novels together why don’tcha? (I’m crying). XD

And in Nancy’s profile it says she wants to be a “journalist” and In Jonathan’s it says “Rockstar -photo journalist” So similar career goals is a theme.  XD

Also, the fact that Will & Mike’s Extracurricular activities are the same and their hobbies both confirm they’re movie buffs…my god they have a lot in common.

RIP to a legend! I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about John Redcorn as a character, but I’ve always loved him, especially the complexity about his relationship with the Gribble family and his deeply terrible rock music. The writers took their time, but John Redcorn ended up as a three dimensional character, not just an indigenous stereotype or Nancy’s sexy Lothario, and I think Jonathan Joss’ performance helped facilitate that transition. Even though it seems like his acting career had slowed in the past few years, he was only 59 and it’s a tragedy for his end to come from such senseless violence. 

I’d also like to take a moment to remember Victor Aaron, the original voice actor for John Redcorn, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in 1996 at only 39 years old. He only had the opportunity to appear in two episodes, but the character was roughly based on him. I don’t really believe in curses, but it’s definitely a sad coincidence both our John Redcorns died so young and so suddenly.

Musical prodigy Steve, who is way too casual about this gift. He plays seven instruments and could read sheet music before he could spell his own name, and literally never mentions it.

He has perfect pitch and can perfectly replicate a song he’s heard once on the radio. If you gave him an instrument he’s never played before and an hour, he’d made something beautiful out of it. And no one knows.

Well, some people know.

His mom still signs him up for recitals and performances out of state, but Steve never talks about it. He just says he has something to do with him mom that weekend, and then goes to preform in a concert hall in front of hundreds of people.

Honestly, Steve kinda assumed everybody was like that.

His parents never made it seem like it was a big deal. Hell, he doesn’t even consider that he could go to college for music (not that his dad would ever allow it). It’s basically a hobby.

It’s only after concussion number two when he’s sitting in English class listening to Eddie Munson complaining for a week straight about how he has an ‘epic vision’ for a ‘new song’ but it’ll never come to fruition because he’d need a full string orchestra.

And then another week listening to him hum the melody of the song.

And then a couple more days with the studio equipment that his parents got him for Christmas that Steve starts to think that maybe this ability isn’t all that common.

Eddie - still complaining - just stares at him with shock and confusion when Steve sits a cassette down in front of him and tells him to, “Stop talking.”

Honestly, that should be it, right? Steve has spent more effort making mix tapes than that cassette and those were barely a blip in the week so…

So, why is Eddie Munson confronting him at his locker the next morning? Eddie’s hands are all over the place like, “Did you really find and pay an entire orchestra to play my music just so I’d be quiet?”

“No,” Steve says slowly because that’s insane. “I played your music so you’d be quiet… it clearly didn’t work.”

“You can play…”

“Yeah?”

Eddie just stares at him like he’s something worth staring at and then asks seriously, “Do you want to be in my band?”

This scene is incredibly tender. 🥹 The way Jonathan and Nancy speak quietly to each other and find comfort in one another, as well as the gentle wound tending… It’s so touching. ❤️
