louis in panamá! louis back in latam!!! louis is back in his spirit home!!!

the crowd was amaaaazing! listen, every louis show i've been to holds a special place in my heart for different reasons. but being in a crowd where everyone around you gives out the same energy, even when they don't fully know some songs, is something i've been craving for a long time now, and it's just the beginning and i'm sooo excited. the venue itself was kinda meh inside, the way they used the space was terrible in my opinion but as a brightside, gaby and i had lots of space to jump and dance and lose our entire minds.
the setlist order change threw us off, but god i love it. the 'chemical' cover... idk how to explain it but the videos i've seen so far (which haven't been many, i'm on wifi most of the time) don't do it one bit of justice. his voice! his voooooooice! that's all i kept saying throughout the song. because i didn't know the song, and the arrangement was so punk that i thought it was a song from an early 2000s pop punk band that i wasn't recognizing. but duuuude, his voice. i hope we get a good version, because that boi whined away with his whole chest... honestly. and i can't fucking wait to see how more and more comfortable he'll get with the song and more people singing it with him, and just... yeah!
oli, krystle and helen were in the open space where there were no chairs, right in front of us... oli walks to not draw attention to himself, but boi, most of us know you by now. i didn't see anybody coming up to them which was nice. they went to the sound booth for a big chunk of the show. and during ooms krys and helen came back to jump and dance to the side there. i loved seeing them like that!
the happiness we felt when we saw lucia coming down! gaby and i were jumping up and down screaming "lucia! lucia is back! lucia!", hajshajshs. and theeeen, at the end, as i always do if possible, we went to the soundbooth to thank my friends (jdelf, tom and oli c.) for the show, and we thanked them for bringing lucia (the lightbulb) and not leaving her behind, and they were amused (and probably a bit weirded out (they've seen me in the same shirt at least 4 times lmao)) and saying thank you for appreciating them and just yeah. i like to think maybe they already knew her name was lucia, but also, i'm glad someone on the ground straight up told them how fucking appreciated she is. 💚 look at herrrr! (lol)

living all my favorite songs live again was so cathartic. didn't know how much i needed it, wow. also, how are we gonna call that insane set of songs before the encore? my vote is for "rip steve's arms" or "no breathing mix" or "lose your shit time". because going from 505 to bty to kmm to ooms is fucking wild, man. it was absolutely incredible, i think i ascended a little bit and was fully exorcised, thanks.
oh! the kmm lights? soooo good! i know they've been done at all the shows after '22 but like... idk. it felt a bit extra special? and he sensed it as well, he couldn't contain his little smiles. and he gave it a shout out. literally everyone knew they had to do it. so cool!
as a sad note, during sibwawc, the lights from the stage weren't really colourful, they just kinda went from orange to white from what i remember. gaby and i waved our flags for the entirety of the megamix (and a bunch of other songs too, hajshajs, duh) and since we were going off the whole time, and not as many people were, he did see us all the way to the back and pointed at where we were and we looked at each other and just kept going. we then corroborated our stories in the hostal, hajdhaj. enjoy the following video as if you were next to us and just jumping around, okay thanks (when you see everyone else jump around that's when he comes to our side).
anyway, i wrote all of this while on the airplane that's gonna take me to puerto rico, which is a bit delayed. oh, and el puma rodríguez is on this flight, lmao. iykyk. some ladies, while boarding, just stood in front of him and took a selfie, eeep. right, here's some carpet photos.

i'm so lucky i get to do this insane adventure, i'm so happy.
(meant to save this in drafts while the video uploaded but guess it got posted instead, hajshajsh. anywaaaay... thanks for the lovely notes, loves.)

SCOTT BARRINGER X PREGNANT READER @ MT. HORIZON.
• Scott isn't pleased to hear that you're pregnant. He knows that this falls on him for the most part because he didn't use protection, but he's still upset. Despite the way he feels, he does the right thing and stays with you.
• He has now become even more protective of you. Anyone who dares to make any sort of joke about you or the baby growing inside your tummy is 100% getting checked by him. Your pregnancy isn't a joke to him, and he won't let anyone else take it as one either.
• Shelby and Juliet are upset once they find out you've been knocked up by Scott. The guy they both had before you. They don't exactly like each other, but they do enjoy talking about you.
“She probably trapped him.” Shelby rolls her eyes. “Yeah. There's no way Scott wanted to stay with her. She did this on purpose, knowing that he'd stay because he'd feel bad..”
Even though Jules is jealous, she's not that bad. If she sees that you're having trouble because of the baby, she'll put on a fake smile and warm tone and help you out. She's mad at you, not the baby.
Shelby, on the other hand, will just stare and smirk, watching you struggle with whatever you're doing. “Should have thought twice before deciding to let him do it without a condom.” She says while passing by you.
• Peter and the other counselors let Scott into the girls' cabin ONLY because of you. He told them that if anything were to happen to you and he wasn't the first one to know, he wouldn't feel right. He needs to know how you are 24/7.
• He ignores all the girls in the cabin if they aren't talking to him about stuff the group is going to do the next day or during the day. He's also not in the cabin much. If you're not in there, it makes him uncomfortable to be in there all by himself with the other girls.
• None of the girls can ever hear what he says even if they're a bed away from you and him. Scott talks in a very low voice because he doesn't want them to know what he's saying. He keeps your business on the low: Appointments, the day that you and him are leaving Horizon for the day of your baby shower/gender reveal, and the gender of the baby.
• When the guys ask him what the baby is, he simply shrugs and says he doesn't know, and you won't tell him because it's a surprise. He doesn't want to get into the "Well what if it's a girl and when she's this and that -" blah blah blah. He doesn't want to discuss it with them. Although he's glad that you're having a boy, he would be okay with a girl.
“What should we name him?” You ask. “Definitely Junior.” Scott winks with a chuckle. “Oh, sure.” You roll your eyes. “Be serious, Scott.”
“Matthew?”
“That's my ex-boyfriend's name.”
“Oh, right.” Scott icks at the reminder. “Something with an L? I like L names.”
“Landon? Lawrence? Leslie?”
“Leslie?” He almost looked offended. “No. No to all of those. What about Leonardo? That's not a bad name.”
It was really that easy and quick to choose the baby's name.
• Waking up at three in the morning in a rush to go tell one of the counselors that you needed to go to the hospital ASAP because you were in labor was not fun at all. He was so stressed and tired.
• He had to stay at Horizon while you were taking care of Leo back at home. He wasn't happy at all about it, but his parents and the staff of Mt. Horizon thought it was best for him to get better before really becoming a father. He thinks it's so stupid because you and Leo need him. He has a fear of Leo not remembering who he is.
• Thankfully, you and Leo are allowed to visit every Saturday. Scott thinks that he should at least get both days out of the weekend, but if this is what he has to deal with, he accepts it.

AMxFem!reader (an: first time writing for any hockey player so yeah. normal warnings a work of fiction blah blah blah 18+, good ol' vanilla smut)
"Oh, come on. It'll be fun!"
You pulled the pillow laying next to you over your face and groaned before removing it again. The smiling face of your roommate met you. She had gotten in late last night and it was entirely too early to be that perky. "What are you asking me to do again?"
"We need to go out. Hit up a couple of clubs, get some drinks, just us girls."
You looked back at Chloe to make sure you heard correctly. "Just us girls? No Mason at all?"
"I mean, maybe. But only later on. If you find someone." Chloe smiled enthusiastically. "Please? I want you to go with me."
You smiled, not knowing which part of her statement to address first. "Darling, the last thing I want to do is be a third wheel hanging on while you and lover boy go club hopping. And what about Julia? Can't she go with you?"
"Jules went to visit her parents." Chloe flopped herself down on the bed next to you.
Flinging your arm over your eyes, you let out an exasperated sigh. "Oh fine. Where are we going again?"
"We'll start on King and see where the night takes us." Chloe was up off of your bed and out of the bedroom before she had even finished speaking. "I have a car coming for us at 10!"
Much as you had figured, it didn't take Chloe's boyfriend, Mason, any time to join the two of you. By the time you all had made it to the second club, you were done sitting at the table pretending not to care while they made out. You opened up the uber app on your phone trying to decide between getting another drink or just leaving. Ultimately, you decided to head to the bar for one more round.
Standing in line at the bar, you felt your irritation rising as some over style finance bro looking buffoon cut you off as your were just about to be next.
"Not cool, man."
You heard a voice behind you and instantly turned to see a larger, more imposing man. Physically, he looked like the personification of a brick wall, tall and built on a solid frame. His backwards hat added a youthful air to his outfit but there was something you couldn't quite put your finger on that intrigued you about him.
"Fuck off," The bro responded. "Mind your own business."
The other man smirked and shook his head. "If you're going to be a dick to my friend here then it becomes my business. C'mon, sweetheart."
In an instant, his arm was around your shoulder and he was ushering you to the front of the line.
"Lennox!" He caught the bartender's attention. "Whatever she wants, ok?"
The bartender turned to you intently, waiting for your order. "Oh, um, a double vodka soda with lemon, please."
You turned back to him. "Ok, so who are you?"
He shrugged. "I'm Auston."
"Yeah, but-" You stopped when he indicated it was hard to hear you. Instinctively, you put your hand on his shoulder and stretched up on your tip toes to be closer to his ear. Even with your heels on, he was almost a head taller than you. Your voice caught in your throat as you felt him place his hand on the small of your back. "You can't just hop to the front of the line unless you're someone so who are you?"
The man, Auston, smirked again. "I've got a table upstairs, why don't you join me and find out? Unless you're already here with someone."
"No, not here with anyone." You gave a little laugh when you realized that you were actually nervous. Not because of Auston, not directly, anyway. It was more that you were nervous because the longer you looked at him, the more you realized how attractive he was.
The two of you hit it off exceptionally well. You appreciated his quick wit and dry sense of humor and it surprised you how gentle he seemed for a man of his formidable stature. A few times, Auston reached over to tuck away a stray strand of hair that refused to stay put behind your ear and the next thing you knew, he was inviting you back to his place. You quickly sent a message to Chloe, letting her know that you'd see her later and joined Auston in the back of a car he had waiting.
The anticipation between the two of you was thick, his hand rested on your thigh, fingertips grazing gently under the hem of your skirt. As soon as the car pulled up in front of his building, Auston slid out of the car and held his hand out to you. He laced his fingers in between yours as you both strode towards the elevator.
In what seemed like a rare moment of discomposure, Auston fumbled with his keys at the door. Once inside, he wasted little time and brought you in, cradling your face in his hands as his kissed you deeply. Without breaking the kiss, Auston managed to guide you to his bedroom.
You stopped next to his bed as you struggled to take Auston’s jacket off. He pulled himself away just long enough to slide the leather garment off his shoulders and pull his shirt over his head. You could feel yourself gasp as his torso and arms were revealed. You could see traces of tattoos, but the light was dim enough that you couldn’t see them clearly. You made a note to explore them more thoroughly later, but right now your mind was on other things. Auston pulled you back for another kiss which gave you the opportunity to run your hands along his chest and sides, letting her fingers follow the contours of his hips.
You broke away and started to place kisses along his collar bone, then his chest, then his stomach. Slowly lowering yourself to your knees, you ran your fingers over the button on his jeans and over the bulge that was starting to form. Briefly looking up at Auston, you smiled before you unbuttoned his jeans. You slid them halfway down his thighs before he helped you take them the rest of the way off. Running your hands up along his muscular calves and thighs, you stopped once you came to his jet black Hugo Boss boxer briefs. Auston moaned in frustration as you lowered them at an agonizingly slow rate but you only let out a little laugh as he was finally able to kick his underwear to the side as well. Taking him in your hand, you pumped out a few slow strokes to prepare him before taking him in your mouth. Auston let his head fall back as he gently tangled his finger through your hair.
“Fuck,” He gasped when you suddenly stopped. Reaching down, he took hold of your hand and encouraged you to stand up. “Ok, babygirl, your turn.”
You bit her lip as Auston carefully began to remove your clothes. Shirt and heels first, then skirt, until you were just down to your bra and underwear. He paused for a minute and stepped back. “You’re really cute, you know that right?”
As much as you wanted to, you couldn’t respond. Instead, you felt your face flush as you swallowed hard and looked away. It took just a minute for you to regain your composure, though, as you quickly reached behind your back and unhooked your bra. Auston gave a slight nod of approval and let out a little laugh as he gently pushed you back on to the bed, slipping your underwear before you could even think about hesitating.
Auston stepped closer and caught your eye. “You ready?" he asked in between heavy breaths.
Again, you found yourself wordless and simply nodded as you moved yourself back farther onto his bed. Auston kissed you deeply before positioning himself above you. Slowly, Auston entered you, seemingly fully aware that you would need a minute to adjust to his size. You winced, holding your breath and gripping the headboard tightly as he pulled halfway out, pushing back in quicker this time. Closing your eyes, you had to force yourself to relax and soon the short moments of pain were overtaken by a far more enjoyable feeling. Soon, Auston began to rock his hips against yours faster and faster until he reached a fervid pace that was echoed by your moans and cries of pleasure.
You lost all concept of anything else as you wrapped your arm around his neck, barely aware that he was dangerously close to his climax. When Auston cried out, he practically collapsed on top of you, only to shift himself to your side moments later. You were still trying to catch your breath when you felt him slip out.
Rolling on to his back, Auston kept his eyes closed as he waited for his pulse to come back down. You watched him for a minute before gently pulling the sheets up to cover the two of you. As he stretched an arm out, you took the opportunity to trace over the delicate lines that formed intricate patterns on his skin. Looking up, you caught a smile form on his lips. Eyes halfway open, he reached out for you, silently begging for you to lay down next to him.
You let out a yawn as you draped an arm over his hips, resting your head against his chest. Auston brought his hand up and softly twisted a stand of your hair around his fingers.
This was always the awkward part for you, you never knew quite how to end the hookup. If the two of you had gone back to your place you wouldn't have been able to sleep until he was gone. Come to think of it, you probably wouldn't be able to sleep here either. Instead, you laid there motionless, listening for any clue that he was still awake. After what seemed like an eternity, you slipped out from under his arm and began to gather your clothes so you could dress.
"You're not leaving already, are you?"
You turned to see Auston stretching his arms above his head. With a smile, you walked back over and sat down on the bed before leaning in to kiss him. "The walk of shame is a lot easier at night compared to the next morning."
He pressed his lips together to conceal his smirk. "Let me get you an uber then."
You watched with mild bewilderment as Auston got up and threw on a pair of sweats and a hoodie. He must have picked up on your surprise. "I'll walk down with you. I have to take Felix out anyway."
As the two of you stepped back into the elevator, you braced yourself for awkward small talk. Instead, Auston leaned back against the wall, closing his eyes as he pulled you against his chest. You let yourself relax into him, resting your hand on his hip.
When the driver pulled up, Auston opened the for but pulled you in for one last kiss before sending you on your way. You were relieved to find that Chloe hadn't made it home yet, maybe she was staying at Mason's tonight, because you really didn't feel like answer her probing questions.
You went back into your day in day out routine of going to work but now instead of dwelling on your ex, you found your mind constantly drifting towards Auston and soon you found yourself trying to find him again. You went to the club's instagram first thinking maybe he would be tagged in some posts because clearly he was well know there but nothing came up. Next you googled "Toronto, Austin" but only got information about flights to Texas. Feeling defeated, you tossed your phone to the side and slumped down on the sofa and turned the tv on. You closed your eyes and leaned your head back, only listening to the commercial that just came on.
"I'm Jean with a J"
"And I'm Auston with an…A"
You sat up immediately, instantly recognizing his voice. You were misspelling his name. As soon as you pulled up RBC's instagram page, the commercial was there too and he was tagged.
Auston Matthews. Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Immediately, you went to follow him on instagram but were somewhat disappointed to see that his posts were mainly club and brand promos. He probably had someone who ran it for him. Still, you clicked on the follow button. You wouldn't have given it a second thought until you got a dm a few minutes later.
took you long enough
You smirked. This was definitely promising.
Maybe if you would have told me you spelled your name with an o then I would have found you sooner.
ngl its hot that you still took the time to find me
doing anything later tonight?
That dm began what would end up being a year long…situationship. You knew you would never be girlfriend status. You knew he had a reputation and that you were one of at least a few, probably many, other girls in his life. But for the time being, you would take your time with Auston however you could get it. He was exceptionally sweet and considerate, he always had your favorite drink ready for you, let you spend sometime playing with Felix before the two of you got down to business, and he always followed up with kisses and cuddles before falling asleep. Still, you knew it was your job to be gone before he woke up and the last thing you wanted to do was outstay your welcome.
You knew what you had gotten yourself into and you knew the way it had to be. You were ok with it. Weren't you?
It started as a little nagging thought in the back of your mind. He does this for everyone, you're not special.
The thoughts became louder. If he really cared about you, you'd be more than his side chick.
When Chloe and Mason became engaged, the voice was now shouting. That could be you but instead you spend your time pining after a fuckboy who wouldn't care if you fell off the face of the Earth tomorrow
You wanted more. You wanted a man who loved you, who needed you in his life. You wanted a partner who felt like he was better for being with you and you the same. You wanted someone who would acknowledge you outside of the bedroom. That wasn't going to happen as long as you kept waiting around for Auston to call you over.
It had to be done. You had to move on with your life or else you'd be stuck waiting around for the moment Auston paraded around the city with his new girlfriend on his arm. Pulling up your contacts, you tapped on his name (he was only listed as AM in your phone) and scrolled down to the red text: BLOCK CALLER
Over the next few weeks you managed to push him out of your mind. You never had the tv on in fear of seeing a new commercial or some news involving the Leafs. You didn't go out, not even to the company Christmas party, you wouldn't be able to handle running in to him. You even stopped going to High Park since you knew he took Felix there. Still, he lingered in your thoughts.
Chloe had decided that she and Mason needed to live together before they got married so you now found yourself helping her to pack and hoping you'd be able to tolerate the girl she found to sublet the lease. You were in the process of putting the entire contents of her closet in garment bags when there was a knock at the door. Chloe went to answer it and you decided to take the opportunity to take a break and get some water.
"Hey, um, I was looking for-"
As soon as you heard his voice, you stepped out of the kitchen. "Auston? What are you doing here?"
"Wait a minute," Chloe didn't even try to hid her shock. "What is Auston Matthews doing here?"
You huffed out a sigh as your shoulders slumped. "Can you give us a minute, please, Chloe?"
Taking Auston by the hand, you guided him towards your room, making sure to close the door behind you.
Auston sat down on your bed, resisting the urge to lay down and sprawl out. He gave a little shrug. "I'm guessing you blocked me. I just…did I do something wrong?"
The Auston you knew was always smooth, a little sarcastic, and exceptionally cocksure. The man that sat in front of you wilted. Instantly, you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around his neck letting him rest his head against your chest. "I can't do it anymore. It's not you, I just can't live my life waiting around for you to want to fuck. I can't sulk off in the night anymore. I want someone that will be my date to my best friend's wedding, someone that will go to work functions with me. I want someone who wants me."
"What makes you think I don't want you?" He looks up at you, his brown eyes boring a hole straight through to your heart. "I never told you you had to leave, I thought thats just what you wanted."
You pushed yourself away from him, witty comeback on the tip of your tongue but it suddenly wasn't the right answer. When you didn't respond he let out an awkward laugh as he started to figure out your thought process. "I don't keep my hookups around, you're not just my hookup. I thought you wanted to keep some distance, like you were embarrassed about it or something."
"Why would I be embarrassed about you?" One million thoughts raced through your head but kept coming back to the fact that this seemed to be one giant miscommunication between the two of you.
"I don't know but clearly she," He gestured towards the door, indicating Chloe. "She doesn't even know about us so there's a reason you haven't said anything."
Tilting your head back, you avoided looking him in the eyes as you attempted to push back your tears. "You were just supposed to be a rebound from a bad relationship. I didn't think I'd ever see you after that but then you wanted to get together again but there was no way you were looking for anything other than sex so I wasn't supposed to catch feelings for you-"
"But you did." Auston stood now, pulling you against him. "And so did I. So here we are."
"What do you mean?" You spoke into his chest, hoping he didn't think you were being intentionally obtuse.
Auston put his hands on your shoulders as he cocked his head to the side. "You got a wedding to go to? I'm there. Work event, introduce me to your coworkers. Leafs fundraising gala? Let's fucking go."
There were a million reasons swirling around in your mind about why this wasn't a good idea but you never could resist Auston's charm. With a smile, you nodded at him before moving to your bedroom door. Much as you had expected, Chloe was waiting right outside, hoping for a tidbit of information as to why an NHL player was in her roommates bedroom.
"Hey Chloe," You turned back towards Auston, extending an open hand to bring him by your side. "Have you met my boyfriend?"

Hanahaki diessese fic idea.
Charles, who is in love with Max, gets Hanahaki. He is spitting full blossoming flowers, but he won't confess. He knows he doesn't have much time left, and he is still not a world champion.
So, he drives like a man possessed, recklessly, and with no regard to his life - he doesn't plan on living anyway -. He distances himself from everyone and runs himself to the ground so he can give his father and Jules a championship before he dies. Everyone can see he is not well but can't do anything, and he tells no one that he is sick.
It can have a happy ending and sad ending.
For the happy one, Max loves him back. He stalkes Charles around, trying to get him to tell him what's wrong till he stumbles upon him spitting flowers, angst, feelings, blah blah blah, the happy ending.
For the sad one, Max is in a relationship with Kelly. They are expecting. Charles gets the champion, but they find him dead in his room with flowers and blood all over him. They don't deserve who he was in love with. Everyone is devastated. The end.
What do you think ?
Tag warnings are for the sad ending (final paragraph) cw: death
I have never read a hanahak fic but I have heard of it and I think it is such an interesting concept for a fic, especially with how you have paired it with Charles desperately focusing on winning his championship and setting aside any hope he has of recovering. It's such a beautiful and sad and desperate set up anon!! I feel like perhaps someone would find petals in his car or something and start to suspect but nobody really knows!
With Lestappen I am just obsessed with happy ending for them so I am always drawn more to the happy alternative. Imagine Charles winning in Vegas (or wherever) and being up on the podium celebrating and he is so happy but also sad because he thinks this will be the one time he will get to do this, he won't make it to the end of another season. Max is on the podium with him and Charles can barely look at him because it makes him want to cry ... but then out of the corner of his eye he sees Max start to cough up petals! And Charles realises that they have both been secretly in love with each other but never wanted to pressure the other one into loving them to keep them alive!!
I know there will be people who also love the angsty ending too, I just need them both to live happily ever after 😭
It's such a lovely idea anon, thank you for sharing!

Just came back from a war zone called tiktok. Someone posted a hot take on tiktok saying that the reason people hate yoko ono is because they can't self insert themselves in her or something like that. And that she doesn't meet the 60s aesthetic girl vibe. Then after that she talked abt the unnecessary racism towards yoko within the Beatles fandom to which one person responded "im not racist but I guess you can call it karma for all the bad things she's done". What is wrong with you?!?! Yes she was .. bad but that doesn't warrant any racism towards her. So then creator of the tiktok said "this is exactly what I'm talking abt. every time I mention racism towards yoko, y'all always want to bring up that she's a terrible person". Fair enough. And then the other person responded, "but she was cruel to Julian and Cynthia, she doesn't deserve our forgiveness" blah blah blah, to which the creator responded, "cyn and jules forgave her so why can't you?" and then the creator pointed out that half the fandom are more upset with yoko than cyn and jules ever were, to which the other person responded, "I still can't forgive her because she hasn't made a public apology."
Here's the thing yeah, how do you know that she never made an apology, maybe she made an apology behind the camera, NO ONE knows if she did or not, and we are not entitled to receive a public apology from yoko imo, because this was family problems, problems that WE were never involved in! So we need to stop acting like we are entitled to receive one because we never were and we never will be.
Anyways back to that conversation, the creator of the tiktok responded "You're not entitled to receive a public apology from yoko" just like I ranted and it seemed as if she shut up that stupid commenter, because all that commenter said at the end was, "btw john was a wifebeater". Bitch stfu

explanations for my pcs and their titles :) insanely long yap below be warned
tws: violence, a dash of cannibalism towards the end :3
niko the shepherd: so i kind of directly lifted 'the shepherd' from the jules speech at the end of pulp fiction. this speech made me cry! hard! for quite a few days! and i think it relates nicely to niko trying to improve himself and stopping using retributive violence to solve all his problems. mans had a bit of a come-to-jesus moment after moving to the farm and 1) realizing that he wanted to grow up and actually build a life for himself and 2) accidentally killing one of remy's goons (one of the newer ones who only did it for the paycheck, furthermore!). so now niko's on his self improvement grind. plus the shepherd fits well with the farm :3
callie the siren: the title of 'the siren' is pretty ironic, honestly, bc callie's not trying to lure people. she's always accused of trying to distract people, or lead them astray, but she's really not. she's just existing. it's not her fault that people throw themselves at her. still, callie does what she must to survive, so she's fine playing the part. she doesn't mind being the it-girl. she'll be the madonna or whore, whichever people want. she didn't even mind it when she became a demon. everyone has a gaping void inside them, she thinks, this is just her way of filling it. callie's just... very apathetic to all the shit happening in dolsville lmao. so the siren is sort of a play on itself
augustine the lamb: no relation to the shepherd above lol. this one's pretty simple- he's agnus dei, the lamb of god. i can get more into augustine's lore later, because i have so many thoughts on this fucker, but in my heart he is the reincarnation of some ancient angelic being (haven't decided who yet) and he's always been meant to be a sacrificial lamb. he doesn't know how he knows this, but he just does. it's innate. augustine is fated to give his life to some greater purpose- and he fucking hates it. he's pure, but bitter. he's angelic, but damned. that's made all the more complicated by the fact that he's hopelessly in love with sydney!!! (dw there's no universe in which he gets a sad ending but still. the thrill of doomed yaoi is too good)
percy the gardener: so... eden is named eden. at some point i am going to do a post about eden and genesis 2-3 and how the original sin/the knowledge of good and evil relates to him, especially in connection to the lewdity of dolsville. i am normal and can be trusted with old testament analysis. but that's a story for another time and this is about PERCY. so, percy is the gardener because he's the one person allowed into eden's cabin, eden's life, into eden himself (in a metaphorical sense tho bc percy's got a poosay). he is sinless there. but... he is tempted. not by sex, he gets plenty of that, but by a different forbidden fruit. this boy... he likes meat a lot. his fox tf gives him a propensity towards eggs, but eden has also caught him scampering around the cabin in the middle of the night, covered in the blood of a bird or a deer or some other poor animal. his tastes have... started to spread to those of his own species too. yeah so this is the cannibalism part. he's not trying to eat eden- eden is way bigger than him so that would never work, plus eden is more than willing to let percy bite him a little. but when percy's in heat, and eden lets him ride, percy's definitely gonna wonder what he tastes like. like any sane person does. also,,, he's not actually gonna do it. he's too smart. his brain is just wired weird. blah blah blah cannibalism metaphor blah blah blah he's just a hungry lil guy.
percy section is long asf whoops!!! but oh well. i just was more felicitous in redacting some of the lore from the other sections but percy's took too much explanation to get at what i was trying to get at. i have a lot more to say about all of them though... especially augustine bc im having a religion kinda week. it's late i hope my screaming into the void makes any sense at all
#why is niko the normalest...#that man is not well#is it cringe to give these ocs insane tragic backstories? maybe#but is it therapeutic? maybe not it might be making me worse#but am i having fun? indeed#niko the shepherd#callie the siren#augustine the lamb#percy the gardener#dendro pcs#dol pc#dol#degrees of lewdity#degrees of lewdity pc#dendro yammering

PUPARIA
Chapter 15 - Simulation Swarm
prev - chapter 1
The detective wasn't the first Hosah Levi, and he definitely wouldn't be the last. The original, the blueprint, everything the shifter was supposed to be, that was his uncle.
Hosah's dad was heartbroken when he lost his twin brother. That was the Hosah Levi. There wasn't much to explain his disappearance. No body, no camera footage. Just gone without a trace. Safe to say, it was a closed casket funeral.
A sad, but common occurrence for shifters. You shrink in the wrong place at the wrong time, you're gonna end up trampled on, kidnapped, washed away by the rain, or all of the above all at the same time. That was why Hosah's dad was so hesitant to let him take the job offer in New York. It was silly. His son was a grown man, he had his own place in Colorado with a steady job and a couple classes to go to in his off time, so why should he have to worry about being allowed to take opportunities?
The truth was, his father had always thought of him as incapable. Not in an insulting way, but in an infantilising, coddling way, which was arguably far worse.
Whenever they spoke on the phone, their conversations always ended sour with an argument, about how Hosah should quit and come home, about how he should call more because every day that passes by without absolute confirmation of his safety causes immense stress to his entire family, or just about anything they can think of on that particular day.
Today however, the argument was about coming home, as it usually was.
"It's just not safe out there. You know how long it's been since you last called? Three days. Hosah, you understand how worried I get, don't you? You know how much can happen in three days. It'd be so much easier for you to just come back to Colorado. Your room is the same as how you left it. Please." His father pleaded down the phone.
It was always the same two or three points with him. You're not like everyone else, you're a vulnerable person, you can't get around your own apartment on your own so how are you supposed to navigate the city, I'm scared for you, blah, blah, blah. Quite frankly, Hosah was bored of it. He'd admitted to himself that he wasn't going to be able to hack complete independence for much longer, but he'd never, ever, admit that fact to his dad.
With his phone balancing between the side of his head and his shoulder, the shifter tried his best to stay on the call as he painted away in the short time that Teddy would be out for,
"No- no I know there are risks," Hosah repeated words he'd said a thousand times before, "That's why I'm not.. living alone anymore."
He still hadn't told his dad about Teddy. In fact, he hadn't told his dad about anything that had been happening lately. He rarely did, actually, Joel Levi didn't need the added stress.
"You have a girlfriend?" That was another thing Hosah hadn't told his dad about. Or really, hadn't told anyone about. Asides from Jules, as she knew everything.
He debated his relationship status with Teddy before responding, "No, but I have a roommate. New co-worker. He's nice. I like him."
"A co-worker is who killed your uncle, you know." Father dearest reminded him. It was never actually proven whose blood the small red stain on the office floor belonged to, but Joel had his theories.
It was best to not bring up the uncertainty of the true events of his Uncle's death around his father. After all, they were twins. Connected at the soul, or something like that.
"Right," Hosah mumbled instead of arguing, a route he rarely went down now that he thought about it.
The other end of the line crackled before the voice was picked back up again, "-this guy that you've moved in with?"
The shifter could only assume the first word in that sentence was supposed to be 'who'. Putting Teddy into words was a difficult task, at least, if he didn't want to end up gushing like a school girl when talking about her latest hallway crush, that is.
"His name's Edward. Super tall, like, the top of his head brushes against door frames kind of tall. Italian. Red hair, met him like a month and a half ago." Hosah described, his lips instinctively curling into an embarrassingly wide smile as he spoke.
"And this guy," Joel began, static and all, "He's good? He helps you? He's nice, gentle, sweet, caring, all that?"
The shifters face flushed a slight red as his father listed off all of Teddy's best qualities, "Yeah, yeah of course." He clarified.
"I could probably do a better job." His father scoffed as he usually did. Nothing was ever good enough, whether it was washing the dishes or taking care of his son, he might as well just be doing it the whole time all by himself because nobody else could do it as good as him.
"Yeah," Almost on queue, the sound of keys rattling on the other side of the door cut Hosah and his father's conversation short, " I have to go, 'kay? Got stuff to do. Call me some time tomorrow or whenever you can and I'll pick up. Okay, loveyoubye"
The shifter rushed to end the phone call so he could firstly, cover up Teddy's birthday gift, and also greet him as he came through the door.
"Sorry, did I interrupt something?" Teddy asked from across the room, standing in the open door. Yeah. His head just about would've brush against the wooden framing.
How someone could look so effortlessly picturesque, Hosah would never know. The shifter stared for a moment, completely lost for words, just taking in the rather mundane sight in front of him. Teddy's pale face had been nipped by the cold breeze, it seemed, as his cheeks and nose were reddened, although a more pink colour than his scruffy, brownish red hair that had clearly been rattled by the same wind. He looked a little disheveled with his scarf lazily wrapped loosely around his neck and his coat missing a few buttons from being completely fastened. Still, even in clothes he'd thrown on in about half a minute, Teddy looked perfect.
Hosah had almost forgotten what his roommate had even said in the first place as he opened his mouth to respond, "Uh, no, no, I was just on the phone to my dad, actually."
"Cool." Teddy had gotten into the habit of stealing the shifter's favourite words and phrases, "Have you told him yet?"
Right. It was probably best to keep his family in the dark about his current situation, he didn't want to worry them, or, god forbid, endanger them.
"Wellll..." Hosah wasn't really sure how to word it in a way that his roommate would understand.
"I mean, you don't have to." The sudden shift in views left the shifter without knowing what to say, half expecting an argument to come out of the conversation. Teddy continued, "It's your business, and if you don't want to, or you're not ready, or.. Whatever reasons you have, you're not obligated to say anything."
"You're right." Hosah nodded.
"As per usual," The taller of the two muttered under his breath as he strolled up to his roommate, giving his blond hair a ruffle before pulling the head into his shoulder, or, more like his chest given their height difference.
It was the little and casual pieces of affection like this that drove Hosah crazy. He felt like a rabid dog with how desperate he'd become to experience the brief touches over and over again.
"Did he say anything?" Teddy asked, hand still cradling the shifter's head, their legs intertwining as they stood at an, in any other case, uncomfortably short distance from each other.
Although, since it was Hosah and Teddy, this kind of close proximity was just right.
Hosah thought for a minute, focused on fidgeting with the loose threads that hung out of his roommates thick, bobbly knitted sweater, "Mmm," He hummed, "Just the usual, come home, it's dangerous out there, you need someone to take care of you,"
"God," Teddy laughed, "If there's one person that doesn't need taking care of in this world, it's you."
Hosah looked up, the overhead light reflecting in the big black holes he had for eyes, "You think?" He asked, chin resting on the taller of the two's chest, as he couldn't quite reach his shoulder as his hips leant against Teddy's.
"Cmon. First time you were.. I don't know, shifted I guess, you made me a cup of coffee. I mean, I know I wouldn't even be able to make it from room to room if I were like that." Teddy hesitated as he got to certain parts of his sentence.
Hosah had never really known how to take compliments.
"Whatever," He scoffed, regrettably worming his way out of Teddy's cradle, turning his back to him as he tried to forget the much needed words of affirmation.
He was right, Hosah wasn't completely incapable, but that's not what he'd been told his entire life, that's not what he truly believed. All Hosah really thought he wanted was to find someone who would take care of him like the helpless creature he was, but even he knew that wasn't completely the true to his deeper feelings. His own heart and mind were things even he would never be able to fully understand. That was Hosah's problem. He'd spent weeks, months, years stuck on a goal, and as soon as he'd meet it, he'd realise he actually wanted the opposite all along. Despite how much it hurt to admit, his stalker was spot on. Hot and cold. If anyone ever saw Hosah sticking to his word without any contradictions, that was not him, and they were to eradicate this imposter as soon as possible.
"You know it's true," Teddy teased, following behind the shifter as he rushed into their now shared bedroom to find a shirt to put on.
A defensive snap he hadn't felt the urge to indulge in came rushing out of his mouth, "Then why do you.. I don't know. If I'm so capable, why do you insist on doing everything for me. You're not my crutch. Clearly I don't need my hand being held."
He regretted the words as soon as he said them, but the deep rooted anger and sadness Hosah held toward this topic got the best of him.
Teddy stood in an astonished silence as he leant in the door frame.
"Because I want to." The tall figure blocking out the hallway's light laughed slightly as he spoke, a laugh that said, 'Isn't it obvious?'.
"I want to take care of you. I want to make things easier if I can. Yeah, you're capable, but that doesn't mean it's not still nice for someone to go out of their way to help you. If I asked you to get me something from the fridge, you'd do it, right? You just... need to let me help you. I won't if you don't want me to, but you need to decide that for yourself." Teddy continued.
Right now, all Hosah wanted to do was to shrink down and sit in the giants hands. 'Yes, of course you can take care of me, you can clip my wings and tell me what to do, and I'd do it without question.' , he thought.
Hosah turned to face the towering figure, "I just.. I don't want you to see me differently, From now, to when I'm small." He explained, his voice much quieter, as if he had something in his throat as he spoke.
"I don't think of you differently." Teddy put it bluntly.
"That's easier said than done." The shifter shrugged as his eyes moved down to the floor as they usually did when he got apprehensive over something.
"Hosah." His tone had shifted, now much more stern, but not necessarily angry, "You're probably the one person in the world I have the most respect and admiration for. I'd be an idiot to think of you any less than I would.. I don't know, some highly intelligent Nobel prize winning scholar dude, doesn't matter if you're five foot or three inches."
"I'm five seven." Hosah corrected, stood with his arms folded and his head hanging low, clearly not having much to substance to carry his arguments anymore. That was the problem with logical people, they solved all your issues far too fast, not giving you the time of day to just be angry about it before finding a solution.
"Five seven, then. Like I said, doesn't matter. I.." Teddy lost his words, he sounded tired, maybe sad, enough to make the shifter feel guilty for the entire discussion.
"I love you, Hosah." Finally, after maybe three long seconds, Teddy spoke again.
What? Seriously? Hosah's brain moved at a hundred miles an hour, surely he couldn't have heard right, there was no way in the world. He tried to say something, but instead, all that came out were stuttering gasps. He could feel his face becoming hotter by the second as his eyes stayed locked onto the carpeted floor, unable to even consider lifting them to look at Teddy's, probably smug, face.
As expected, the figure by the door laughed at Hosah's pathetic attempt at responding,
"What, do your friends not tell you they love you usually?" Teddy smiled, moving in closer towards the shifter, placing a hand about the size of Hosah's entire head on his shoulder.
Of course, how could he be so stupid.
"No, it's just, I thought you meant it differently for a second. Ha-ha." The shifter tried his best to keep his cool, but his furrowed eyebrows and blushing cheeks gave him away.
The pale hand traced up Hosah's neck until it found its way to his face, cupping the burning cheek in its palm, the thumb caressing the smooth, tanned surface, which didn't fail to make it a much deeper red colour. The shifter stood silently, his mouth slightly agape, although still holding his breath with a sharp inhale of surprise at the touch.
"Well," Teddy spoke softly, smiling just enough for his crooked tooth to stick out from his top lip, "Maybe I do, in a way."
That was all he wanted to hear. The words Hosah had prayed would come out of his mouth from the moment he opened it. It all came together, after weeks of debating whether he even had a chance or not, he could finally answer all his questions. But, as a million cases in his head came to a close, around the same amount were opened right back up again, this time with more dead ends and false leads, leaving them to go cold with the lack of any kind of explanation.
"Don't mess with me like that." Hosah's head hung down, his hand barely able to wrap around the wrist of the man cupping his cheek.
Despite how hard his chest beat and how the butterflies fluttered in his stomach, he couldn't help but blink the tears out of his eyes as he feared it was all a big joke. An elaborate plan to make a fool out of himself, living the rest of his time with Teddy in utter shame and embarrassment as the awkwardness of their unreciprocated feelings hung heavily in the air, polluting the apartment until they'd both suffocate in the unresolved, unspoken and unmentioned tension.
"I'm not messing with you. I'm serious." And he really did sound serious.
There was no way, though. No way that someone like Teddy, someone so sweet and so gorgeous, could ever be attracted to Hosah. He wouldn't believe it no matter how many times he heard it. The shifter couldn't help but scoff, his grip tightening around the wrist.
"Hosah," Teddy's other hand grabbed hold of the other side of Hosah's face, lifting his chin with both of his thumbs until the brown eyes met his own, "It's true. Of course it's true. I thought I was being obvious with all the touchiness." He was laughing, but the shifter was still too discombobulated to see the humour in any of it.
"You're so confusing, I don't know what you think." Hosah gave his roommate a playful jab in the stomach, unable to say anything else about the news he'd just been told.
The feeling could only be described at euphoric. The shifter had felt like a monstrous pervert with what he'd been thinking of Teddy. His brain would start to sizzle and fry just at the thought of a time where his forearms were visible as he loomed over the shifter's shrunken form; to Teddy, it was probably nothing, but to him, it was absolutely everything and more. It was always these tiny details that had him the most worked up. Hosah didn't really care about if they were jacked or if they were insanely beautiful, although those were definitely bonuses, but he cared about nice hands, good, thick calves, broad shoulders, all the things that would come in handy.
"You don't get to talk about confusing, you've been giving me mixed signals since day one." Teddy pressed his forehead against the shifter's, the tips of their noses touching as they did, well, however long ago it was. The days had been blurring together lately.
It took much more energy than usual to stay regular sized. "That's just the way I am, I guess," Hosah smiled despite the rush of conflicting thoughts and feelings, as he grappled against his own body to keep the few inches he felt slowly draining from his body.
"You don't have to hold back, it's okay." It was getting quite obvious that the shifter was now standing on the tips of his toes, and Teddy always picked up on everything, even things Hosah would try his best to hide.
And in the blink of an eye, Hosah was back to his usual self. Although it wasn't exactly entirely normalised, the shifter felt the most comfortable when he was about this height. Three inches tall, a slight bit bigger than Teddy's thumb. It was perfect, he could slip and slink under the radar without anyone realising he was even there in the first place. Hosah had become used to being a shadow in the city, everyone is here because they dream big, being exceptional in your home town out in butt-fuck nowhere just didn't cut it here, and the shifter had come to accept that. He accepted it the moment he had to quit baseball because he just couldn't be a regular height for long enough, he accepted it when he'd finish a painting and still feel like he could do so much more, and most importantly, he'd accepted it when it had been told straight to his face.
There was no chance of him being a big shot out here, which is why it scared him so deeply when someone like Teddy saw him as he was, something special. Not just another face in the crowd, but an individual with good qualities and flaws, scars and all, he saw the shifter as someone worthy enough to fall in love with.
He didn't get it. Who was he in comparison to the giant that sat on his hands and knees over him. He was nothing, a weed growing from the cracks in the sidewalk, an inconvenient breeze that ruffled the hair of the passers by, truly forgettable and insignificant when compared to the likes of Teddy. It made sense why the police didn't bother with the almost a hundred letters, and why they didn't bother looking into his uncle's sudden dropping off of the face of the earth. People like him didn't even take up space in this world, making them all the more worthless. He needed to take a break from work, stop analysing every word his stalker wrote to him, as it seemed to really be getting to his head and psyche.
"I.. I don't know what to do now." Hosah admitted, finally looking up to see the giant face above him. This is what he wanted, but now that he had it, what else was there to look forward to?
"I mean.. We don't have to necessarily do anything." Teddy's voice was much more hushed, something he'd taken into account ever since hurting the shifter's much smaller ears.
Hosah didn't say anything, he didn't have the mental energy to think of anything useful to add. The pale hand which dwarfed him in comparison inched closer to the shifter's shrunken form. They were good hands. Almost paper white, although his knuckles and fingertips were still red from being out in the cold. Nice, large, gentle hands. It was all Hosah could really ask for. Teddy's fingers weren't like his own, they were straight, and cut off almost like perfect rectangles at the end, although they were anything but sharp and rough. His recollection of the digits seemed to be correct, as a bent finger brushed the same cheek the same hand once held in its palm. This was nice. No confrontation of their feelings, just silent touch.
"I didn't expect it to be like this." The shifter finally commented, leaning into the touch like it was the last time he'd ever receive it.
Although he wasn't looking at his face, he could tell Teddy had that stupid, goofy smile on his face that he always wore whenever he had a one-up on Hosah.
"What do you mean?" Teddy said in a quietened laugh. The shifter wondered what the pair looked like from a different angle, and how ridiculous the giant would be from a birds-eye sort of view, as he sat on all fours with his back bent almost inhumanly in order to get closer to Hosah in his new form.
"In the movies they.. I don't know, they confess their love and they kiss passionately and suddenly they've got it all figured out and it's smooth sailing from there. But I still have no idea. It's all the same, except, I guess some things have been... cleared up." The shifter rambled on with no control over what specifically he said, not that this was a problem when in Teddy's company.
"Maybe it's the kissing passionately part we're missing. That's the key," The giant joked, but with how he looked towering above the shifter, his hair cascaded forward, the overhead lamp looking almost like a halo from this angle, honestly made Hosah want to try it out.
The shifter gave a sigh of amusement, "Don't get too ahead of yourself."
"Right," Teddy inhaled sharply, second guessing himself before continuing, "If you want to go.. Really super slow, we should do that. I don't want to bring all of this onto you when there's a lot going on. I don't know. It feels kind of sudden, I just.. Said it, I couldn't really hold it in for much longer."
"It's okay. I don't think I would've really lasted either. Things don't have to change, we don't really act like just friends anyway." Reminiscing on the month, or, however long it'd been as it felt like years, that they'd known each other, Hosah realised just how couple-y they'd acted all along. He didn't know any just friends that held hands on the street or that held each other in the night.
"Maybe not," Teddy sighed, his smile softy spread across his perfect pink cheeks, a satisfied and content expression that told Hosah all would be okay.
And for a moment, it really did feel like everything would be okay. There was no stalker in the window, there was no sudden phone call of a case reopening, there was nothing, in fact. The city was unusually quiet, as if everyone and everything had stopped in place just for the two of them to have this moment.
The giant really was beautiful, Hosah thought to himself as he sat, leant back with his neck craned up to face the figure that towered over his shrunken body. A kind of once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable type of beauty that one would dream about for years after seeing a glimpse of out of the corner of their eye, or in the reflection of a window, or when the train passes through a crowded station. The sort of face that would make you do a double take in the street, which people most certainly did.
It was all his little features that stuck out the most, especially at such an angle. His hair curled at the ends, clearly wanting to go into coils but either it wasn't long enough or it wasn't being taken care of properly to be able to do so. His cheeks were covered in small, dark freckles, as were his arms and his legs, and even his hands and fingers. Even Teddy's nose was perfectly sculpted, completely straight and symmetrical, unlike his thick, bushy eyebrows that Hosah itched to pluck at and clean up as he obsessively did his own. He wondered how far his freckles went down, if the giant had one on his stomach and chest like his own abnormally large and almost quite garish mole on his abdomen which completely dwarfed his belly button.
"You look deep in thought." Teddy commented, shifting from his knees to laying on his stomach on the carpeted floor. They could've just moved to the bed, as the sun had already long set; the creepy cat clock that hung menacingly on the crowded wall was just about to strike eleven.
The shifter stood to his full, minimal height, the hand making him look as small as ever in comparison. Each crevice of the palm fit perfectly into his own, as if they were two pieces of a much bigger jigsaw puzzle that needed to be put together to reveal the full picture. Hosah wasn't really one to believe in fate or a magical red string, but as his fragile body went limp against the flesh wall, each groove of his back being effortlessly supported by the- slightly calloused but still, blissfully soft palm, he thought for a brief second that this was just right. He didn't need the cabin by the lake, or his job at the detectives agency, he didn't even need anyone else in the world to keep him company, just Teddy and this moment would be enough for him.
Hosah thought about what the doctor had told him the previous day; a concept called the butterfly effect, that one seemingly small and insignificant choice or event can cause a long trail of consequences, completely altering the course of someone’s life forever. That theory seemed to check out, as from the clouded window, he could see the stars shone bright through the light polluted city sky for the first time in years.

Okay, so I rewatched PR:U for the first time since its release, and I definitely had some thoughts.
To begin with, what is with the really bizarre product placement in the beginning. Jake did not need to hold up those Oreos so blatantly lmao.
PR:U jumps straight into the action in a really identifiably different way than Pacific Rim does. In PR, Raleigh narrates the Kaiju War and then we see him and Yancy get into the Knifehead fight, and it flows really well overall. On the other hand, PR:U starts with a quick relay of the Kaiju War, and then we're introduced to Jake in the regions still affected by past Kaiju attacks (i.e. half-destroyed mansion, which I also have some thoughts on). So it quickly becomes clear he's got some black market dealings going on, and the first action sequence of the movie is Jake running from these random Jaeger scrappers (??). It's just really throwing compared to the first one, since we at least have a general idea of what's going on with Raleigh.
Side note: I'm assuming they're in the Bay Area that was largely evacuated considering they head toward a Jaeger scrapyard, so how does that mansion have like...any utilities.
So then we're introduced to Amara, who can build a sickass Jaeger but has no security system? I don't know, she seems really careful about being discovered for obvious reasons, so I feel her hideout would at least have an alarm or some kind of traps, But Jake essentially just strolls in.
Of course, then we have November Ajax vs. Scrapper, which I actually do like. Its nice to see what the new Jaegers look like, and see what Scrapper, the first single-pilot Jaeger, is capable of. This scene also really seals the tone of PR:U as kind of lighthearted and jokey while also having action and death, which isn't really the case in Pacific Rim.
Another thing I like: Amara and Jake's relationship. A lot of things about this movie feel funky, but I think the actors did a very good job of forming a very genuine-feeling bond between these two characters.
Mako's introduction just feels. very bizarre. I understand that she obviously can't be there in person, thus the hologram, but the whole situation just has a weird vibe that I can't place. I'm not sure if it's because Jake and Mako act so familiar with each other even though Jake was never mentioned in the movie, or because I'm just not a fan of the hologram bit.
Contrary to popular opinion (at least what I've seen), I really like the Jaegers in PR:U. I hate that they removed the realism from their movements that was always present in the first, but there were some very interesting weapons and new designs introduced at the same time, so I can let it slide. Except the giant rotating ball of blades on Bracer Phoenix, it can go die.
Mako's death is genuinely my least favorite scene in the movie for obvious reasons. She was essentially killed off for no reason, since we don't see much of Jake's grief, meaning they wrote her off for pointless plot purposes, which I hate.
I do enjoy the villain bait with Liwen, although it's a shame Newton ended up being the villain. They were definitely setting her up as an antagonist since she was on a side somewhat opposite to Mako's, and because it becomes clear that Shao Industries is somehow evil before having her turn around and attempt to stop Newton no matter the force necessary.
While on women in the movie, not a huge fan of how Jules was treated, but she's also not present that much so I won't go on and on about female characters being used a tool to create tension being male characters blah blah.
The fight against the Mega-Kaiju was...something. Suresh dying was completely out of the blue, and I hated it. I think the cadets all being so young is an odd decision to make, especially because in the first movie most of the Jaeger pilots come into the program in their very late teenage years at the least (besides Chuck and Raleigh, iirc). They try to justify the whole. child soldier-esque training by saying the Bond is stronger at a young age, but they didn't even have that young of recruits in the first PR and that was during a war so idk.
Raleigh not being mentioned at all is also a crime btw. Or Herc, for that matter, but he could at least make a little more justifiable sense than Raleigh.
Anyway, this was a really scattered collection of musings on the movie, but there we go.

Chapter 5 Stuff
Heyo! So I haven’t done review type stuff in a while and I’ve been rather inactive but I just want to say I LOVE CHAPTER 5??? The lore and the story??? The characters??? Even battle royale I’ve been having a blast these past two seasons. As much as I liked Last Resort and OG Fortnite and didn’t mind the rest of Chapter 4 I haven’t had this much fun and HYPE since Resistance/Vibin’.
For season 1, The Underground vs The Society and all the characters involved have my whole heart. I already miss the bosses and I’m glad Hope is still sticking around to tell us the aftermath and all that. We typically never get actual closure following a storyline, as usually the characters and everything just ends up being abandoned after the season is gone or any information we get is so small. I feel bad for Hope honestly, her first dialogue is “how are you after everything?” And girl how are YOU??
also all the bosses can have me honestly especially montague and valeria
The map is so pretty and I genuinely love every location from both seasons (though Pleasant Piazza has the same effect as Pleasant Park where every time I go there it is most definitely NOT pleasant). The new mythics from this season are so fun, but they took away my glorious P2X optic and now i have to use the dumb holo and i don’t like them on my nemesisisisisisis rifles😔
Also for this season, I’m sure you can guess what my favorite part is:
THEY’RE BACKKKKKKK
my beloved agents i have missed you so MUCH
like i mentioned in a tag before, i had this thing where every season i would find the smallest connection to it and go “hey epic this season has [blah blah blah] this would be perfect for a skye npc” and IT FINALLY HAPPENED, not only that but THE ENTIRE CREW??? (minus maya they forgot about her :()
I’m so excited to see where the story goes with these guys, we’ve had them as npcs bit by bit with meowscles, kit, brutus, and jules, tntina FINALLY has some relevance and then of course SKYEEEE. Now we just wait for our favorite golden mastermind to make his dramatic entrance :)
anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk, to close this off here’s an epic dive bomb win I got the other day :)

vlogger!reader being so loved by juliens fans like vlogger always tries to help the stans on tumblr on getting tickets, or giving food if they are on line for the show, always saying that they could take the photos for people that want to take the photos for their fans like ☹️
i love this idea so much stop rn 🙁
ok so this hit a little too hard for me specially the giving food in line part since i’m brazilian and left my last concert a little traumatized over the overwhelming heat, no water allowed inside the venue blah blah sorry for the rant! anyways so here’s how i think vlogger!reader is
- i see vlogger!reader getting super along with jb’s fans, helping them do projects for the concerts, plan surprises for julien’s birthday (kinda like kpop birthday cafe events) and just always talking to the fans !
- on the concert thing, i can see her helping set the merch booth up, going outside the venue to see if everyone’s doing alright on the lines, order a bunch of food and drinks for everyone and during the concert just fully enjoying the vibe and singing and dancing with the fans but also 100% alert if someone’s not doing ok there
- vlogger!reader is just overall a literal ball of sunshine and jb’s fans get so obsessed with them (in the best way!!) that one day julien is idk at a cafe alone and some fans go up to her and ask where reader is, i imagine jules getting all pouty and being “oh so you have a favorite now, huh? i’ll cry myself to sleep no big deal”

Ada Hegerberg OL Night Systems Interview (April 17, 2024)
I really cannot emphasize enough how fucking time-consuming translating these OL Night Systems interviews actually is, but it's also how you get to know a player, and that's kind of my end goal. I want people to understand this team the way I do, and this is how you get to that. You can get to know a team without being parked on a player's social media page tracking their every like/comment/flight/location at any given point in time.
Blah blah standard disclaimers apply; @OL Comms Dept if you want to chip in for my AC bill whom am I to say no; who do I hate more, stans or the fucking academy director - an enigma for all time; banning stans from stadiums would solve a lot of problems real quick; y'all know the speech by now.
Come for the insight on Hegerberg's mentality, stay for the discussion about Spice Girls, fashion, and culture. And to think people say this team is boring...
ADA HEGERBERG OL NIGHT SYSTEMS INTERVIEW
[Opening credits]
Journalist: Good evening everybody and welcome to OL Night Systems on OLPlay. It's Wednesday and normally we put a focus on the academy. But no, we changed it up and covered the academy yesterday. The beginning of the week has been exceptional. We had games won 4-3, 6-1, we won a derby. We had a two-hour segment on Monday. Jules Cross wore a fake mustache yesterday. All that to say that today will be even better. We're really going to enjoy ourselves because it's an extraordinary guest with us. You've waiting for it for a long time. We have the luck of spending an hour with Ada Hegerberg. Good evening, Ada.
Hegerberg: Good evening, everybody. It's a pleasure to be here.
Journalist: It's a pleasure for us, Ada. The Spice Girls were even celebrating at Victoria Beckham's birthday party [he is being sarcastic]. You who like fashion -
Hegerberg: She's a very fashionable woman.
Journalist: We chose the most fashionable one.
Hegerberg: We like her.
Journalist: Do you like their [Spice Girls] music?
Hegerberg: Yes, I've always been into the Spice Girls. I'm going to be honest.
Journalist: Okay so now the obvious question. Which Spice Girl are you?
Hegerberg: Ooh, I would say more Victoria, because she is more subtle in her [fashion] style. Very spicy but cool.
Journalist: My co-host isn't a Spice Girl but he would have had me stoned if I hadn't brought it up. It's Timothee Piron.
Timothee: It's a rough transition but I had reserved this spot for a long time. I had to be the co-host tonight.
Hegerberg: Geri [Halliwell]? Geri? Are you Geri?
Timothee: Sure, that works for me. I didn't want to miss this episode because there's a lot of cool stuff. It's always great being able to spend time with a big player like Ada [Hegerberg].
Journalist: Actually, Timothee, which Spice Girl would you be?
Timothee: Pass.
Hegerberg: Pass? Have a bit of fun here, Timothee.
Journalist: You could say he is being a baby... spice.
[Hegerberg and the journalist snicker]
Journalist: We'll let you think about it. As I told you, we'll be spending an hour with Ada Hegerberg. And it's not for no reason - it's been 10 years, and she is staying.
[clip showing Hegerberg's extension]
Journalist: 10 years and she is staying. That news was announced exclusively on OLPlay by OL Night Systems. I didn't dare do it but I wanted to do it in Norwegian. I have a little problem with the pronunciation.
Hegerberg: [speaks Norwegian]
Journalist: [repeats what Hegerberg is saying in Norwegian] It's okay, we'll work on it. It's not perfect, but I will try my best. We're really happy with the news, we had been waiting for it for a long time. Ada, everyone is smiling today, we're still not over it. It's an incredible week. It feels great, thanks for the news.
Hegerberg: I think I am the happiest to be very honest. It's really the correct feeling, from the beginning as well. I want to continue writing history with this beautiful club. It's really my home. It's also my family. It's a cliche but it's also my family for the past 10 years. It wasn't time to leave, that's for sure.
Journalist: We're watching the video clips. Hegerberg 2027. It almost looks presidential. Are you running in the elections?
Hegerberg: [laughs] Yeah, you could say it's a bit grandiose.
Timothee: Deservedly so.
Hegerberg: I agree but I appreciate it too. I appreciate it a lot because - [long pause] You could say it's a bit of a change of an era. Personally I think the best years are ahead of us. There's still a lot of things to do and I want to be a part of that story. So yeah, it's - it's - it's with a lot of pride that I am here today to announce that I am here for another three years.
Journalist: The past was magnificent, the future will be even better based on what you are saying. I'm really looking forward to that. You might be the happiest but trust me, Timothee isn't far behind. [Hegerberg laughs] He's probably a few centimeters behind you in terms of happiness and pride.
Timothee: Yeah because having followed this team on a daily basis, we know that the best players have pushed us to the very heights. We keep saying this but the accolades are exceptional. And indeed, the competition is tougher and tougher. We see teams getting stronger both domestically and on the European scene. And we saw Michele Kang come in with her project, a project with a huge amount of ambition. And we said, ambition is shown in several ways. We felt that those discussions were going to happen eventually. We could see the end of the contract arriving and we were like "it'll be better when this is sorted." There were some questions and all the answers were given. It's great for us, we can continue - well I can continue seeing my throat doctor on a regular basis because of how often I scream in celebration when Ada scores.
Journalist: I think some will be going to a hearing specialist as well. I don't think they'll be thanking you.
Timothee: I'd like to apologize to Coralie Ducher and our sound producer.
Journalist: Ada, in that video you said you came in as a young girl and are a woman now. Regarding that evolution, if you had to talk to that young girl - well maybe not that young, you weren't a child, you were at the end of your teenage years [Hegerberg was 18]. What would you tell her in that moment?
Hegerberg: I don't think it's possible to write it down what will happen in the following years. It's true that when I arrived - there was a particular feeling when I came to Lyon. I had already experienced the top level in Germany, work, discipline. It was a pretty harsh experience but also enriching. But it's like everything fell into place when I came to Lyon. I say that sincerely. It was the beginning of an adventure, that first summer I was here. And since then - it's hard to explain but I think when my career is over and I look back at these years, all the great things we experienced both on the field and off of it, all the fantastic people, during my time at Olympique Lyonnais, in Lyon, in France. It's a special country for me. So no, really, it's true that when you see the first pictures, I'm laughing a little because it's really a [young] girl with a lot of ambition but had no idea what was waiting for her really.
Journalist: And if you had to give her one piece of advice in that moment?
Hegerberg: Be yourself and don't think about it too much. And go for it.
Journalist: Do you think you did that?
Hegerberg: Yeah, I think so, because I wasn't afraid of anything when I was young. I always wanted to get in, give it my best to see if I could go far in my career. And honestly, it was an adventure out of this world.
Journalist: It's been 10 years, we're going to look back on those 10 years and do a little recap. There's a lot to say about those 10 years, starting with the numbers. Timothee, why don't you get us started?
Timothee: Yes, if we look at the statistics, it's been 10 years but it's not just about the numbers, it's the context behind it.
Journalist: We can start by talking about both.
Timothee: It's impressive. 244 games, 264 goals. Usually in the top level, forwards have a ratio of one goal for every two games. More than one goal game, it's never been seen before. Six UWCLs, six Coupe de France. 8 league titles [it's now 9], three Trophee des Championnes. You were talking about other players, the staff, human adventures.. There are the numbers but also everyone who you have ever worked with. It's true that you have met a lot of people. When we watch the film, the coworkers you've had, honestly the adventures you'd have with this team are out of this world. It's exceptional.
Hegerberg: Yeah, I think it's because it [Lyon] is a big club. There aren't many clubs who can have a culture like that. We're lucky to be one of them. I think all big clubs know how to appreciate legends of the club, big players. It needs to be the case because here at Lyon, we've had a few. But - what to say? It's really all the connections which came together to have that success on the field. I think everyone sees what happens on the field but we play a team sport. Even if we talk a lot about individual titles. But the notion of being on a team, year after year, know how to keep the same group to build something longterm. We've had difficult periods as well but we always knew how to overcome them. And being a part of that, I think it's something I will tell my children one day. So, yeah. But we're not yet done.
Journalist: No, the beginning is really interesting. It's also about passing on knowledge, that's a role you could have. When you arrived, who - well we'll say in terms of players - who took you under their wing? When you're a young player, you always have role models, teammates whom we learn from. Who for you in that moment played an important role?
Hegeberg: It's true that in terms of being a pioneer of football, it's obviously Lotta Schelin, the tall Swedish player. She was one of the first to leave her country, go experience an adventure abroad. Trust me, I know what it's like to be a foreigner in - in a foreign country. She cemented her place in the team, year after year. That's not easy. She was one of the first to do it. Then I think we also developed a special relationship pretty quickly. She's a great person. So she was a hell of a person, I'm really lucky to have had her when I was that age.
Timothee: And you were saying before, you had Camille Abily who was taking you to practice.
Hegerberg: We can't forget that. But I think there were quite a few players who had different roles. And there were a lot of players like that [Abily, Schelin] when I started here at Lyon. I've told you, we had Camille Abily who is a world class player who was coming to pick me up in front of my hotel to take me to practice. Saki [Kumagai] also did that. So everyone was taking responsibility to make sure the integration into the team was as smooth as possible. That was my - how to say it - that set an example for me for the rest of my career because I saw how I was welcomed and I want that for everyone who joins this club.
Journalist: Camille Abily as your personal driver, that must have been quite something. You learn a lot in those moments. We saw the numbers for you, it's more than a goal per game. When you came - well not too long ago, you talked about your objectives for the Champions League, you said you wanted to score 100 goals in the UWCL. But when you came, did you have an objective in terms of number of goals or games with Olympique Lyonnais?
Hegerberg: I've never really been the type to be ambitious in terms of goals in a season, because I think it's important to stay focused on the preparation. Now I have the experience, I know how it works. If you're well prepared, the goals will come. But you also have to say that when I came to Lyon, for me the most important thing first of all was to learn the language so that I could have a role in the team, on the field and off of it. I think it's really hard if you aren't integrated [in the culture]. But also try to understand, try to learn as much as possible because to be frank I developed a lot my first years at Lyon in all aspects of my game. And I think I knew - I had the capability to learn from those next to me. There weren't better to do that when you look at the team we had at the time.
Journalist: Let's now switch to your extension because it's a pretty much subject, it was announced you extended through 2027. Did you think about it bit by bit? How much time did it take? And what motivated you to say, "I'm staying, I'm sticking with Lyon." You talked a bit about how it's a big club. We can also bring up the arrival of Michele Kang, who came and changed things up. Was that a part of the future you considered?
Hegerberg: It's true that the news of the departure of the former president, Jean-Michel Aulas, it brought us a lot of pain. [sounding pained] Honestly, it hurt on a personal level as well. It was really hard to accept. And I know that's the case for a lot of the players. And we're lucky because we - you could say we welcomed a president with a different perspective on things, who has a really different view. So we're starting a new era. And I would say it's really positive as well. It's a moment to reinvent ourselves, find the solutions to keep growing this team. But I will say I also want to thank the club because I think the club such a big effort that I didn't even have a reason to doubt at the end. And I will say thank you to Michele Kang for having trust in me, Vincent Ponsot as well because at the end, with their will there was no doubt in my mind. It really made my decision easier. Because the desire to keep me was so strong, and it just confirmed my feeling that I wanted to continue with this team, with this club, this amazing club. And go win more titles. That's the most important thing.
Timothee: it's true that the club has gone through a lot of changes if you compare a year ago to today. A lot of things have changed. We remember the Coupe de France final in Orleans, where right after the announcement, Jean-Michel was there that day, that was really important for your team. And then we had this new project being put in place right after. And it wasn't necessarily easy to switch over like that. But as you said, it's a very ambitious project, and it follows in the footsteps of what you have stood up for for a very long time in terms of developing women's football and allow those who come after you to be in a better position.
Hegerberg: If my contract extension shows the club's ambition, then that's a major positive. Because I think it shows all the ambitions. I stayed because I am an ambitious person. There's one part because this is my home but there's another part of me that's very ambitious. I want to continue to be the best, be a part of the best team in the world. So I think we have great years ahead of us. There will need to be a lot of work, a lot of self-perspective, and we really have to push ourselves beyond our limits. I think the ability is there and we absolutely need to reach it.
Journalist: You talked about Michele Kang, the recent owner of Olympique Lyonnais Feminin. She expressed herself very well after your contract extension. She reminded us of the importance of her project with Olympique Lyonnais and how important Ada is within that project. Let's take a listen.
[Kang interview done in italics]
Kang: It is a very important moment, not only for me personally as the new owner of the women's team, but it's a great day for the team and for all the fans of Olympique Lyonnais Feminin. I'm very, very happy.
Kang: It means a lot. I can't think of Olympique Lyonnais Feminin without Ada. I think she is, as we all know, one of the best players who ever played football. She is the first female Ballon d'Or winner. And she has been with this club for 10 years, and [now] three more years. I don't know how many players are out there, men or women, who stayed with one team for that long. So we are incredibly grateful, and I think all of the success Olympique Lyonnais Feminin had achieved is clearly teamwork but Ada has been the leader. And she's scored 264 goals. That's phenomenal. So I'm very happy for her, I'm very happy for all the fans in Lyon that we're going to have another three more exciting years with Ada.
Timothee: She's also a strong voice. And a project as ambitious as yours needs strong support to achieve it.
Kang: Absolutely. I think this is all about setting the pathways for not only current players but for all the young girls coming right after her and also all our players. Having a role model like her is a very, very important part of our project, and for her, and for Olympique Lyonnais Feminin. So, very excited that she decided to stay with us, and it's going to be a lot of fun.
Journalist: "A lot of fun." That's how Michele Kang concluded. Having fun, that's always a factor in football. Enjoying yourself is really important.
Hegerberg: That's what matters. Honestly, she's completely right. It's true that we cover some really serious things but at the end of the day it's still a game. And it wouldn't be possible to do what we do without having fun.
Timothee: It's in this team's DNA as well, know exactly when to switch. You can be having fun and having a laugh and a second later your expression changes, and there we understand it's very serious. It's not the moment to make jokes, it's not about having fun, it's time to get to work. There's really that side - you have players who are always having a laugh, we're not going to name any names but I know you can imagine who it is.
Journalist: There's a phrase which suits them - "know when to take things lightly and know when to take things seriously." It suits the team really well.
Hegerberg: Exactly. I just want to say I'm really happy to know Wendie [Renard]'s fun side. She's more than just the fierce competitor on the field. What's cool is we all have our own ways of getting ready before a game. You have players like myself or Wendie who are very serious. The moment we go onto the field we're really in the zone. And then you have players like Vanessa [Gilles], Lindsey [Horan] as well, who can really have a laugh and switch in a different way. We have fun with that. Honestly, the atmosphere within the team for me is one of the keys to success. And it needs to stay like that forever if we want to win trophies.
Timothee: It's something that season after season stays the same. That's what's really interesting, it's that there are players who leave, others come in, but there's always this consistent atmosphere. It might vary a little bit every year but there is always that nice atmosphere and good times.
Journalist: We talked about passing things on earlier. You came in as a young player, you must have discovered that mindset pretty young. Now it's up to you to pass that on, to keep that atmosphere along with Wendie whom you were talking about.
Hegerberg: There are quite a few.
Journalist: Quite a few, yes. Of course. But it's that role of leader - obviously we think of Wendie, who has been there a while. But is it also something you like to do? Set an example through your preparation, for example? Lighthearted and serious at the same time?
Hegerberg: I think the most important thing is to stay true to yourself. You see immediately if the intensity isn't there. So that's something I will always tell people. Be yourself. Everyone has something to contribute to the team, different values. But it's true that I've always wanted to contribute to a team, even when I was younger. I knew I had a role when I was younger. Now it's a bit different because I've spent 10 years at this club, I've experienced euphoric highs and rock bottom, and I knew - I learned - how to say it? - the different ways to survive, I guess, in the world of football. So I'm all for sharing my experiences with the new generation because the importance here is also to know how transmit all that so that new players come through, potentially new leaders because players like Wendie [Renard] and myself, we're not going to play forever. I'd love to play here until the end of my days but that's not going to be the case. So it's also up to them to listen, learn what we have to teach them and we have to be there to help them.
Journalist: You talk about being yourself. When you are yourself, do you have more of a speaking role or do you stay quiet and let your actions speak for themselves?
Hegerberg: I think everyone knows it's through my actions. I guess through speaking as well. I'm someone who expresses themselves a lot. I do through my actions on the field, my actions off of it, I do it with my professional life on a daily basis. And also bring energy as well, because sport depends a lot of which energy you bring to the team. I think that's tremendously important. I think that's a bit my role as well within the team.
Journalist: Let's talk a bit more abut that energy, the role sports plays in it. We talked about Michele Kang, she talked a bit about it last week. She wrote an open letter where she reminded everyone of the benefits of sports, what it can bring, what women in sports can bring beyond that of football. She talked about how it's important to have staff and specialists focused on women, whose speciality is women's bodies. Do you see a part of yourself in that project, in those values?
Hegerberg: I think we're truly at the starting gate in terms of the competency of a section focused on women's bodies. What do I mean by competence? How to give - how to create the best conditions for women in their domain so they can learn more and more. But it's true that in the medical field, there is so much to do. And I know that Michele, she is very, very invested in that part of the project. I think we really need figures who have power, who can really draw an audience and do something with it. Because there's really - we're really in a phase where either we don't do anything and we continue in the same direction, or we start acting so that the next generation will be even better than us. I think there is so much potential. And if you keep the best players in the game for as long as possible, you'll also get a better level in the longterm.
Timothee: And we needed things to change. It took time, you gave a lot of interviews, you spoke up a lot. There was also last season where there an unprecedented amount of injuries in European football and that started to bring about some changes. It's now a bit better known to the general public that yes, women's bodies are different and need specific attention to detail. There are fragilities, especially with regard to ACLs for example. There are also questions being asked about period cycles. All those are things which are being explored. We want to say, it's starting. It's only just starting, but it is starting. It's work in progress and will be important because it will be things which will come with a lot of questions. But we're finally asking these questions.
Hegerberg: And I think the problem is that the research - I think the worse thing is that the research is already there. But it's how we systematically implement that research so that all the clubs, the federations, UEFA, FIFA use the same information, work together as a team. Because here I think that everyone is doing their own thing. There are those who aren't doing anything. So I think there are really ways to do something. We have to do something, because otherwise I think we will stagnate during a period, because players will suffer so much, will have so many injuries that even the level of play will become stale. We'll never be able to have the best players available. So there's a lot of work to be done but that doesn't mean we should be pessimistic because I am very optimistic and positive for the next generation if we can get a handle on this, because the potential can be incredible.
Journalist: You talk about future players. They have to evolve in order to not stagnate, in order to progress. So I want to ask you, what do you think the future player will be like? Think of it as a questionnaire. For example if you could pick someone's right foot in the Lyon team, whose would it be?
Hegerberg: [loud exhale]
Journalist: We asked the same thing to Vicki Becho, we know it's complicated.
Hegerberg: No, no. A right foot? [long pause] I would say [long pause continues] I would say Lindsey [Horan].
Journalist: And the left foot?
Hegerberg: Okay, the left foot, I would say Amel [Majri].
Journalist: Lindsey, Amel. And header?
Hegerberg: Wendie [Renard], I would say Vanessa [Gilles] as well. She's definitely up there, because she has a good aerial game.
Journalist: So a two-headed player. Interesting. We'll need to make a note of that.
Hegerberg: Exactly.
Journalist: I guess it's possible, there are cases [of Siamese twins]. And endurance? Repeating efforts?
Hegerberg: Oooh, endurance. Endurance..
Journalist: She's thinking of who she wouldn't want to get into a fight with.
Hegerberg: True. [long pause] No, we just have some hell of endurance players. [long pause continues]
Journalist: There's Danielle [van de Donk], I remember when she came in she was breaking all the records. The staff couldn't believe it in terms of physical effort.
Hegerberg: I would say Daan, yeah.
Journalist: Technique? Skill?
Hegerberg: Skills? [long pause]
Timothee: That's a hard one.
Journalist: Of course it's hard. If it was easy we wouldn't be asking.
Hegerberg: True. [long pause continues]
Journalist: I didn't think you would take this long.
Hegerberg: It's difficult to choose.
Timothee: You're going to have to see them in training.
Journalist: You can skip it if you want.
Hegerberg: I would take Delphine's ball control, so Delphine [Cascarino].
Journalist: And to finish, vision of play? Ease to see what is happening?
Hegerberg: [long pause] I would say Maro[zsan].
Journalist: She stays back and see through the lines.
Timothee: She's a good player to watch.
Journalist: Two-headed player, better chance of scoring headers. But a hell of a future player, there's quite a lot to look forward to. But we're going to stay focused on you and get to know you a bit more, know who you are outside of football. I'm not going to lie to our viewers, we were discussing fashion before the show. There are things to know because for example we asked Vicki [Becho] who created the best atmosphere. Your name came up when we asked who was the most stylish.
Hegerberg: I'm so flattered.
Journalist: We were talking about the importance of balancing sport and daily life, both in terms of Michele Kang's project for continuing to play sports. You're a professional athlete, so sports takes up a majority of your life.
Hegerberg: And recovery.
Journalist: How do you recover then? Is it following fashion trends, as we just said? Or is it going to the movies, listening to music? Other things? Pottery, maybe?
Hegerberg: Yeah. [long pause] That's a really good question.
Journalist: Thanks.
Hegerberg: Recovery takes a lot of time. We don't really have the time to redecorate as much as we'd like. But it's true I like to dress well. It's true that I don't post my outfits etc a lot on social media, because I like to do it for myself. Come to the [sports] club, feel good in my daily life. We spend so much time in sportswear.
Journalist: Sweats are important as an outfit. There aren't a lot of catwalks done in sweats.
Hegerberg: Exactly. I even wore my best sneakers for you today. Just for you. [they're white, in case you are wondering]
Timothee: Thank you so much.
Hegerberg: You're welcome. But it's the same with my husband, we like to get away from the football bubble. We're really interested in what's happening with society, we try to get involved with things other than football because it gives you a global perspective and it helps you on a daily basis to not always be so closed off. The world becomes so sterile if you stay just in the football world.
Timothee: Has it always been like that, or did it become that way through experience? At the beginning were you just football, football, football or did you always have that passion but also a need to be involved with other things?
Hegerberg: I think it came with time, honestly. I was really lucky to have gotten involved with a lot of things through football, which allowed me to have sponsorships with things outside of football. I had a partnership with UNESCO, for example. I did something with Dior Women which talked a lot about women's leadership in society. So all the [football] success allowed me to discover some really interesting things outside it: women's roles in society, it's really important to understand where it came from. But I also had parents who raised me where we were all together at the kitchen table. The rule was no matter what, we sat together and we talked about things. So that gave me some self-perspective. They gave me - I think by doing that, they encouraged curiosity. And I really appreciate that about my parents, they opened my eyes from such a young age.
Journalist: Eat and talk. If that's not typically French I don't know what is.
Hegerberg: French Norwegian. It prepared me for life in France.
Journalist: It was good practice. You've learnt a lot about French culture here. I'm not sure if you watch films in French.
Hegerberg: This keeps being brought up.
Timothee: We can blame Jules Cross.
Hegerberg: [laughs] True. I'm actually interested in films, really. I watched Anatomy of a Fall, which came out this year. The Cannes film festival. I got into it with Lindsey [Horan] the other day because she didn't know that cinema originated in France.
Journalist: In Lyon even.
Hegerberg: Exactly. In Lyon.
Journalist: She thought it came from Hollywood?
Hegerberg: Yeah, that's it.
Timothee: Those are things which interest you. It's not just football, there are parts of you which are drawn to other things.
Hegerberg: Yes, I would say that. But I'm not going to pretend, football takes up a lot of my time. It's incredible. Sometimes with my husband, we are like "oh we don't talk football too much with each other" when we're with other people, but it's not true. It's our passion, it's my passion. And it needs to be like that if you want to stay at the top level. That being said there is always what happens after your career is over where you have time to discover other things in life.
Journalist: If we talk about the future, there's the contract extension through 2027. What do you see yourself doing in the future? Three years from now?
Hegerberg: Way too early to be asking that question.
Journalist: In three years, what would you like your statistics to look like?
Hegerberg: The highest level in football. Always. I'm not going to hide it, I'm very positive, I look at my future with a lot of optimism because I know through hard work we're going to have a bright future if the decisions - if the right decisions are made so we can advance in the future. Because the future of football is going to be good. But I've always said that the most important thing in football, in order to have a long career, it's to be motivated. If you start slacking with the small details in your work, if it's not as fun to work on the small details, then I think your level will start to drop pretty quickly. But I'm really, really far from that.
Journalist: And if I go even further, if I ask you where you will be in 10 years? Or where you would like to be even.
Hegerberg: It'll be really interesting to see. I don't think I will have a typical daily office job. I think it'll be something more dynamic. But there is so much to do when you are a player. And I think with the platform we have through football, it gives you the opportunity - I really hate using cliches - it gives you the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life, in society. So yeah, it'll be interesting, whether it's in football or something else.
Journalist: And in 50 years?
Hegerberg: 50 years? President of ... No, I'm kidding.
Timothee: It puts you in a really unique position. You learn a lot of things, we've already talked about languages, you've learned what you are doing now meaning talk in a foreign language on television like you are right now, and do it perfectly.
Hegerberg: With a slight Norwegian accent even after 10 years though.
Journalist: We saw at the beginning of the show that my Norwegian accent wasn't terrible either. It's fine, it's a balance.
[Hegerberg laughs]
Timothee: But all that is so impressive. I'm curious in any case. Everything you've done up to now, Ballon d'Or, done, UWCL, done. I'm curious what the future holds.
Journalist: Okay, if in 50 years we saw "Ada Hegerberg, she was -", how does that sentence end?
Hegerberg: [sharp exhale] You mean what legacy will I leave behind? [exhales harder] That's a hard question. But I hope - I think that when I look back at my career, I know that I would have given it my all, both for myself and for those around me, for my team. And I hope it's something I would be proud of when I end my career, that I would have changed something in my sport.
Journalist: Perfect.
Timothee: Works for us. But please don't stop just yet, you still have time.
Journalist: We talked about the future, what you will do in one, two, three years. But I want to ask you a question about your teammates. It's going to be - well you can pass if you want. If I went through your teammates after football, who do you see taking a year off and doing absolutely nothing?
Hegerberg: Oh my god.
Journalist: Or you know, those who will enjoy doing things that they can't do as professional athletes, eat certain foods, just enjoy life and be like "give me a year and I'll think about what to do next."
Hegerberg: Ooof.
Journalist: Does that mean there are a lot or there aren't any? [gleeful cackle]
Hegerberg: I'm afraid I will insult someone.
Journalist: You can pass.
Hegerberg: No but I respect people who want to take the time to decide what they want to do with their life. [long exhale] Pass.
Journalist: Pass? You're not allowed to pass on a question after this.
Hegerberg: I think everyone will just do their own thing.
Journalist: You're not allowed to pass anymore. I have more questions.
Hegerberg: Okay, okay.
Journalist: Who do you think will play another sport? So like, "after football, I will try my hand at something else"?
Hegerberg: Maro[zsan], I think she would do paddle tennis.
Timothee: She opened a [sporting] complex not far from here. And when you look at all the technique she has in football, I think it would carry over pretty quickly.
Journalist: Who do you think will become a coach?
Hegerberg: Ooooh. Good question.
Journalist: Thanks.
Hegerberg: Oh, wow. [long pause] Honestly, I think I already said Wendie [Renard] but she already gave me her opinion. I think she will change though. Lindsey [Horan], I could see her as a coach. [long pause] That's already two good choices. [longer pause] Amel [Majri], maybe. Her sister is a coach.
Journalist: Who do you think will continue playing until they're 50? They're never going to stop?
Hegerberg: Honestly ... [long pause] I would say Vanessa [Gilles] because she's a tank, honestly. [long pause] I think Wendie [Renard] will last a long time as well.
Journalist: Who will become a referee? Is there even a player who could become one?
Hegerberg: I hope so. I think it would be a good thing. I could see Griedge [MBock] with her long legs running on a pitch with a whistle.
Timothee: And handing out cards.
Hegerberg: That's right. Though I don't actually think she would give that many.
Journalist: And - and you don't have say anything specific - but who do you think will have the most dramatic career change? The most surprising?
Hegerberg: Oof. [sharp exhale and a long pause] Let me think a bit. I haven't given it a lot of thought but maybe Chris[tiane Endler]. Yeah, Chris maybe.
Timothee: She doesn't talk much.
Hegerberg: Yeah, her facial expressions don't give anything away but you know there is something behind her that is just ... there.
Journalist: You mentioned Griedge, which is a happy coincidence because our No. 29 actually had a question for you.
[Horan actually appears on screen]
Horan: Will this be seen? Perfect. Okay, Ronaldo, AH14. My serious question to start is what is your favorite goal that you have ever scored?
Hegerberg: She was serious for once, that's good.
Journalist: Griedge obviously has changed a bit. That was Lindsey Horan, that works too. That was a question from one of your teammates. So what is your choice?
Hegerberg: That's really difficult actually. I'm not going to pretend otherwise because there isn't just one. I would say maybe one of the hat trick goals I scored in the UWCL Final in 2019 against Barcelona. [long pause] I think the header against PSG in the semis was a hell of a goal. It's hard to choose. The hat trick in the final was a big moment.
Journalist: We'll try to get Griedge's question this time. She also has a question for you.
Hegerberg: A serious one?
Journalist: Maybe.
MBock: Hey Ada. I would like you to explain the dream you had about me maybe two or three years ago. If you could explain that one to our friends, that would be great.
Hegerberg: I will definitely not be explaining that one. Pass. She's crazy.
Journalist: I suspected that would be the answer. Timothee filmed it yesterday. When I saw the clip I was like "I don't think we will be allowed to broadcast that." You won't even give a clue?
Hegerberg: It's better if no one knows. Pass. Absolutely pass.
Timothee: Is she allowed?
Hegerberg: I am absolutely allowed.
Journalist: We'll go back to the sporting discussions. We talked a lot about the future, we touched on your past as well. For the now, it's the league. You're pretty much guaranteed to finish first, we're not going to pretend otherwise. [recap of standings]
Hegerberg: Officially winners of the regular season.
Journalist: Hence my next question. You're guaranteed first place but you're not Champions. There's the playoffs which will happen in a few weeks.
Hegerberg: We won the regular season. You have to say it. We won the regular season. We're 9 points clear of PSG. It shows how far ahead we are this year.
Timothee: It's probably still going to be the tightest it's been because of the playoffs. At first maybe we could say "why not?" but now if you look at the ranking in terms of disparity, there is a problem. But there is a good fight for fourth place, there is Reims with Amandine Miquel who has been doing excellent work there for many years. She is definitely eyeing that fourth place. There is also Fleury, Montpellier. It will create opportunities, unfortunately not in our favor.
Journalist: The playoffs, is something exciting for you or does it annoy you?
Hegerberg: I think you already know my answer. I've always emphasized the reward of being consistent throughout a long season, because I know how much work has to be put in to have a good season in the top level. After, that's how it is now. In the end we are just players, we have to play the game. But we are going to do the maximum to be fully prepared for the semifinal and hopefully the final of the playoffs.
Journalist: We are going to do a recap and talk about the consistency this season. We're not doing too badly overall, we are scoring more goals than we are playing games. That's not bad.
Timothee: Yeah, it's been a season where we have been consistent in terms of results. There obviously have been moments which were less good, but that's normal in a season. It's been more consistent than last season when you were admittedly decimated by injuries as well. This season Lyon is guaranteed to finish first of the regular season. This season as well, you've scored a lot. You've played in 24 games out of 32, you've started 17 of them. 21 goals and 2 assists, you are the team's top scorer. Does being the top scorer matter to you or not really, it's just something you do and don't really think about it?
Hegerberg: I think on a personal level it's really important to be on a successful team, and it's also important to help the team. So it's a give-and-take. But I know that when I am well-prepared that's often the case in the my career. I think it's important with the team we have at Lyon to have the top scorer in European [Diani] and in the league [Hegerberg at the time, it later became Chawinga] But I think preparation is the most important thing, it's so important for the team to function properly. And often when the team is doing well, I personally am doing well as well.
Journalist: We're talking about the D1 Arkema, which isn't over. The playoffs are coming up. There's a competition which is unfortunately over, that's the Coupe de France. It would have been doubly painful for you - sorry - with both the loss and your injury. We're going to talk about your health. My first question, how are you doing?
Hegerberg: It's good. I'm doing really good. I'm working hard every day, I'm giving it my all and I am progressing well. So that's the most important thing.
Journalist: We're going to look back at what happened in that moment. Timothee, why don't you put things in context for the Coupe de France game against Fleury?
Timothee: Yeah, much like last year we were playing Fleury in the semifinal. It was at the GOLTC. And indeed, the game started pretty well because we were immediately creating good opportunities. You actually had a good chance pretty quickly. And in that moment we thought things could go pretty well even if Fleury is a team with a lot of quality. And then there was that sequence in the game where - we can say it - there was an action which is really, really difficult to defend and that will lead to you being substituted. And maybe that got into your teammates' heads a little bit because the level of play dropped. There would still be chances created. Then there was the penalty shootouts. The players chose to step up, it must be said. You definitely miss if you don't take it. Fleury did exactly what they set out to do. We obviously weren't happy because we know that was their objective. It's the dark point of the season, just like it was in 2021-2022 when we won the UWCL and the league but not the Coupe de France.
Journalist: Lyon has still not lost a game this season. They parked one, two, three, four buses in front of goal to take it to penalties. After that game, how angry were you? How did you experience it?
Hegerberg: It's really difficult. I would rather not comment too much on the situation because I think it speaks for itself, even if some will say otherwise. For me it's clear. But that's in the past. What we have to accept is for teams today, the reality is a bit brutal. They want to play in a low block against us. It's not an excuse anymore, we need to be able to find the solutions to break down the block, to control the play better, make them run after the ball more, in order to find the solutions. We weren't able to do that this year. That doesn't mean it will get better in the future because we absolutely need to work on that, because it's something which happen a lot going forward.
Journalist: We talked about injuries. It's a little bit off-topic but I want to bring up players' healths. With the accumulation of league games, National Team games, there is also travel, jet lag - you talked about Lindsey Horan and Vanessa Gilles who travel to the US [and Canada]. That also plays a role in everything that you are doing. You also have matches in the Coupe de France against Fleury which can get a bit heated. Is that something which concerns you in terms of players' healths?
Hegerberg: First of all, I'm really impressed by Lindsey [Horan], Vanessa [Gilles], Ellie {Carpenter] who often have to travel really, really far. Chris[tiane Endler] at the time as well. Am I forgetting someone?
Journalist: I think that's everyone.
Hegerberg: Yeah, because how long the trip is, it takes a toll on your body. It's impressive. It's a big, big challenge. It isn't getting any better. What I find really sad is that there is no interaction [regarding scheduling] with the players, they're the ones who are on the field. And since there is no communication between us as players and those who make the [scheduling] decisions, they are increasing the number of games each year. I think it's a shame. It's not something which will help the sport. I don't know if it was looked at from an economical standpoint, but I think it's a really weak decision. It's going to affect the sport in the longterm because it will affect the top level players. Their bodies won't be able to handle it. And I can say it again, we're at Lyon, we're lucky to have expectations regarding the conditions surrounding us. But let's just say not every club is like that. So instead of increasing the number of games maybe they should look at how they can improve the conditions so that the players are in the best conditions possible in order to perform well. But I think we are heading in the wrong direction.
Timothee: You have to realize sometimes that when Lindsey [Horan] is coming back from playing with the National Team, when we're talking with her I'm not convinced she even knows what day it is. There's so much jet lag, so many different emotions. Now it's true everyone deals with it differently. But just having flights that long, it's not really the best way to rest. Those are questions we need to ask. Sometimes it's like, are all these games really necessary? Is it going in the right direction? That's the thing really. We really have to ask ourselves that when we see players play so much and travel such long distances. They aren't catching up on sleep, or it's messed up. Obviously after a moment you end up paying the price.
Journalist: Just as a reminder, Lindsey Horan plays with the US National Team, Vanessa Gilles with the Canadian National Team. Ellie Carpenter and the Australian National Team -
Timothee: She's a true world traveler.
Journalist: Out of this world. She's definitely accumulating [frequent flyer] miles. But we are going to talk about the upcoming objective, it's a bit closer timing wise and that's the Champions League this weekend. If you look at the run so far, the group stage, qualified for the semis after winning the quarters. Next up is Paris Saint-Germain. The knockout rounds have begun, they started in the quarterfinals. Fun time's over, and we meet Paris Saint-Germain again.
Hegerberg: Yeah, it's a classic. Hats off to French football really, because I don't think it's highlighted enough that there's consistently two French teams in the quarters, in the semifinals. It's really a classic in women's football now. I like to say in football generally. But it's going to be a big challenge. It's not going to be easy. But I really have trust in this team. I think we have the quality, we're preparing well, and maybe we will even break the attendance record.
Journalist: We'll talk about it. [cross-talk] Thanks, Ada. We're expecting up to 38,000 people, which will be a new record. We're now looking at the clips of the previous attendance record in 2019 [Coupe de France Quarterfinal against PSG].
Timothee: I just want to remind people that Eugenie [Le Sommer] is getting fouled on that play. In case anyone forgot how that game went. In any case that was the previous record at the Groupama Stadium. Saki Kumagai almost scored, you also came close to scoring. It was a hell of a game.
Journalist: Can you talk about the importance of playing in a big stadium? Does it add an extra something?
Hegerberg: Yes, it goes without saying. And I must give congratulate the club as well, because I think they did a hell of a job this year to increase attendance for the UWCL against PSG. We need to continue doing that. I saw somewhere that we had the second highest attendance [in the UWCL]. So that's really, really good. And we need to keep that connection with the fans in that we need to play good games for them to come back. But I think the trend is pretty good at the moment.
Journalist: I hope plenty of fans will come to the game since since we're close to 38,000 but the all-time record [in France] is 43,000. It was also a PSG-Lyon game, but it wasn't here, it was away at the Parc des Princes. I would like us to beat that at home.
Timothee: Yeah, that would be good. And that game inspired some Lyon players. We know there are some players who don't really like playing in a hostile environment. And then there are others who love it, they thrive on animosity.
Hegerberg: You really think there are Lyon players who don't like it? Really?
Timothee: You think everyone likes it?
Hegerberg: It's true. The thing about this team, even before I came to Lyon, they played a final in front of 50,000 people in Munich in 2013, if I remember correctly? Or 2012? And also when we played the final in Turin, that was predominately Barcelona fans. But I think we feed into it. It's fun. We live for those sorts of games. That game at the Parc des Princes, it was one of the best games I've played in my career.
Timothee: You're right to say that French football is consistent at the top level. What was interesting about this season of the UWCL is that for the first time ever, there were no German teams in the quarterfinals, but there were two French teams. We've talked about it a lot in the pregames and the postgames, when you know German football heritage, when there are two French clubs and no German clubs, that's significant. It means something is working.
Journalist: We'll talk about it more tomorrow, that semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain. We have a question for now about the semifinal. What will your role be in the semifinal? Are you already hyping up your teammates? Are you already influencing them for this semifinal because you probably won't be able to play in the first leg? I'm not sure, maybe I'm just guessing.
Hegerberg: We don't know. It'll be a surprise until the last minute. I'll certainly be there, I can tell you that much.
Journalist: It will be an extraordinary surprise. For this game, there was the group stages which came before it. There was that away game in Norway when you played Brann. You could have played against your sister but unfortunately that didn't happen. Was that a special moment for you in the UWCL?
Hegerberg: It's true that we already did that when she played with PSG. I think it's weirder for my family, especially my parents, it must be difficult to know when to cheer. I always tell them, support whomever wins. But it's more special for them because honestly when you're on the field, it's just about winning. Winning is the only thing that matters. And play well for the team. So for me it needs to stay like that.
Journalist: It's almost time to wrap up, we only have a couple of minutes left. We have one last question for you. I don't think it will be the easiest. And it's still No. 26 who is asking it.
[Hegerberg immediately starts shaking her head]
Horan: If you were playing 2 v 2, in a 2 v. 2 World Cup, would you choose me or Vanessa [Gilles]? And you have to answer.
Hegerberg: Do I really have to choose?
Journalist: Yes.
Hegerberg: Wendie Renard. [laughs] No, I can't answer that question because it will create drama in our friendship and I can't allow that.
Journalist: She said you had to answer.
Hegerberg: Yeah but with Lindsey, I never had to do something.
[Timothee starts laughing]
Journalist: We see who knows why that is. We're going to let you leave, we're so happy we were able to spend an hour with you. I know you have another commitment this evening, I think it has to do with Fortnite or something?
Hegerberg: Yeah, Vanessa was on me about it earlier. You might not think it, but I'm a born gamer, just like Vanessa Gilles. So I had a meeting with her later to play a bit online.
Journalist: You'd have to tell us who won.
Hegerberg: Of course. But we play together, so we're always on the same team.
Journalist: Thank you so much for having spent this hour with us. We were really happy to have you. Hope to see you again very soon. We're not going to wait another three years for you to come back. We have a lot to talk about for the rest of the season.
Hegerberg: I'm really happy to stay for another three years. Honestly, the people who are behind us, everyone at the club, including you Timothee, I'm really honored to stay here because - life goes by you quickly, your career is short, so you need to savor it. So I'm really happy.
Journalist: We have great years ahead of us with Ada Hegerberg. We'll end this the way we started, with the Spice Girls. [Producer plays "Spice Up Your Life"] Have a good night, everyone.
