look i love a good truth spell/truth serum fic, esp in the batfam fandom because none of these assholes know how to communicate with each other at ALL kjdsfhkjdfh

but think of all the possibilities of a truth spell/serum mixed with tickling/teasing like

is the spell/serum one that forces truth as a compulsion? where you cant help but blurt out the truth and resisting is futile/painful and you have no choice?

is the spell/serum one where you can choose not to answer, but if you speak at all anything that comes out will be the truth and you cant physically lie?

but no matter what mixing that with tickling is the best sdkjfhsdf like, they cant even protest without meaning it (and you know i hc literally all characters ever to enjoy being tickled, so, lol)

and maybe its even to the point where you cant hide/mask reactions because that is, in a way, lying -- omg. so many possibilities

bruce getting hit and alfred performing an injury check once he gets back to the cave and he accidentally hits some ticklish spots and bruce cant hide it like usual because of the spell/serum and he's like "hey!" and wants to tell alfred to stop it or cut it out or something, but he cant, because that would be a lie because he's still that little boy that always wanted to play tickle monster with Thomas and Martha (and sometimes Alfred, once the grief became manageable, in rare times Alfred dropped the propriety) and he still thinks its fun. and alfred can tell and just smiles indulgently, sneaking some more in here and there under the guise of the injury check

dick getting hit and he already knows his siblings are going to be hounding him with questions because theyre little shits like that, and he complains about it during the batmobile ride home (which Bruce actually went with him on because dick was real out of it for a bit there and Bruce had been pretty worried). bruce isnt gonna ask him questions, at least not until he can be fully monitored, but he hums here and there to respond, and dick is of course fluent in Batman Grunt Language so theyre able to have a full conversation and you cant tell me dick is not adhd so theyre jumping topics like crazy but bruce has learned to follow his train of thought by now. and somehow tickling gets touched upon, maybe a childhood memory or smth, and dick tries to say something about it being so annoying or smth like that but he chokes on the words because he cant lie and whoops, bruce definitely knew that when dick was a kid (he wasnt shy about it, he was an attention seeking kid) but definitely didnt know it continued once he grew up. he definitely makes it clear that he's putting that one in his back pocket, and dick whines about how its embarassing, but when asked if he wants bruce to forget it, he cant lie and say yes because he does miss the affection of a tickle-attack from his father figure

jason who gets hit and keeps snapping at everyone to stop asking him questions because of course theyre asking embarrassing shit, who wouldn't. and dick is the most annoying of all like "do you REALLY hate it when i hug you??" and he's got the compulsion type so he tries to bite his tongue for a bit but eventually cant take it anymore and spits out a rage-filled "no" and dick gasps and starts grinning like the cat that caught the canary and starts going through all the types of affection he can think of "do you actually hate when i kiss your forehead?" "do you actually hate when i spam you with tiktoks?" "do you actually hate when i force you to come to movie nights?" "do you actually hate when i get you to cuddle?" and of course the answer to all of these is no, Jason doesnt actually hate it, but goddammit he's got a reputation to keep and he cant have his siblings all thinking he's gone soft (luckily alfred had kicked out everyone but dick by now, because dick was SUPPOSED to be monitoring jason's symptoms, but instead he was being Obnoxious) and then he gets to the worst one of "do you actually hate when i tickle you?" and jason doesnt know if its more or less incriminating that he tries to hold back his answer for as long as he does, but eventually he has to give in to the "no" trying to escape from his body. and dick has never looked so smug or evil and jason knows he's never living this down. especially not when dick gets into questions like "do you like it when i tease you?" or "why do you like it when i tickle you?" Jason swears, the second this wears off, Dick is gonna regret ever being born

tim gets hit and he's got the kind where he doesnt even realize fully he's speaking the truth. he's super chatty, cant stop talking, just keeps dropping more information. almost like he's high actually, but not quite, he's still mostly aware he just. cant really stop talking much and doesnt care to lol, but all of it has to be the truth. and so his family guides the conversation further away from the angstier stuff and more towards silly or non-important stuff. like, what game has he been playing recently, his favorite foods, what he thinks of this or that movie.... the movie part, of course, gets them talking about movie nights in general, and tim talks about how much he loves it when they do a blanket fort night because everyone gets to be all cozy in a pile together and even after all these years he's still a little touch/affection starved (yes i know thats extremely fanon characterization but leave me alone KDFKDF), and he talks about how much he loves it when dick or bruce will give him back tickles and hair pets/head scratches if he manages to cuddle up to one of them during movie night. and because tim is in word vomit mode, he just keeps going, and he talks about how fun he finds tickling in general and how he wished it happened more because it shuts his brain off and he likes the playful affection and spending time with his siblings and/or father figure. everyone makes Extreme note of this, and tim is mortified once its worn off, but he cant really complain when he gets more cuddles, tickle attacks, AND prime back tickles/hair pets/back scratches every movie night from then on, even Jason joining in sometimes

damian gets hit and its a mix of these, he's not exactly high and its not exactly a compulsion he can resist, but he's just spouting the truth when asked and its clear he finds it annoying and is already exhausted. he's still a little wobbly so dick helps him out of the batmobile and into the medbay and up onto a cot, and in getting him on the cot he hits a few ticklish places and damian cant quite hold back his reactions while under the affects of the spell/serum and he flinches and giggles a little. and dick smiles because his baby brother is so cute, but does apologize because he really wasnt meaning too that time and he knows damian is dealing with the spell/serum right now. and damian mutters out a little "dont really mind" as he settles on the cot, and then flushes right up to his ears. and dick resists the urge to coo or laugh fondly because he knows that would not be taken well right now, but he does do his stupid bright grin. and damian is like "i dont suppose we can forget this interaction" and dick is like "not on your life, baby bat. but dont wory, youre safe for now" but damian knows as soon as the spell/serum has worn off and he's gotten some rest, his ticklishness is fair game

Spoilers in the Internet Age — a mixed blessing sometimes

Spoiler warning: This post containers end game spoilers for DA:I and some vague ones for Veilguard. You have been warned.

As anyone playing Final Fantasy 14 for the first time can tell you, it’s very difficult to avoid spoilers if you even think about looking at the Internet. You can’t ever watch a single thing related to what you’re avoiding on youtube or suddenly you’re spammed. There’s no way to block keywords from the algorithm gods.

I also participate in a discord where people are very careful about spoilering everything but sometimes forget to label what game they are spoilering. In the middle of say a DA2 discussion, something would be spoilered but not labeled DA:I and whoops, now I know a thing.

Also there’s just general tribal, genetic knowledge from a game that is 10 years old. I was watching a streamer play through DA:O last year and he casually dropped things like he knows that everyone is obssessed with the bald elf in DA:I. Not really a spoiler but a big cue that I should be paying attention. Because everyone is so horny around here, I thought it meant they all wanted to fuck him. And when I started the game I was confused, because he wasn’t even a little cute. More on that bad take later.

Somewhere at some point I managed to come across the question/theory in one sentence: “Surely Solas is the villain in Veilguard?” This was a bit disappointing but since I know I’m taking my life in my hands every day I walk the Internet, not surprising. I spent a year playing through ff14 with a friend and was repeatedly stabbed by spoilers and fake spoilers on the internet because I thought it was safe to google unrelated-ish other stuff.

Suffice it to say, I knew I should be paying attention to this guy.

On Me and Spoilers: I am one of those people who is so obssessed with the mechanics of a story that I sometimes cannot appreciate it on the first read/watch/play. I’m too worried that tropes will be exploited, stereotypes and cheap plot escapes will be used to avoid telling a meaningful story that could alienate some consumers. So I’m analyzing everything and not able to enjoy myself. It often requires a second read of a book or movie viewing to really enjoy myself.

A small digression, I remember watching Big Fish for the first time and being transported out of that need to analyze everything before I can enjoy. And sobbed myself silly over it. It was such a great story, you knew his father would die in the end and that it was just the journey through stories that was bringing him and the viewer more understanding. It was so well done. The story told you what was going to happen and then took you on an absurd journey to get there.

But even FF14 which I hold up as a great example of character development and story telling in gaming is better for me on a second playthrough. Sometimes you need to know what’s coming to really appreciate the poignancy and despair in the moment.

So while I knew a few things about DAI early on, I think it helped me enjoy it a bit more. Because of course, knowing that someone is the villain doesn’t mean you know they’re going to reach into your chest and rip out your beating heart before the game even ends.

This is not a trope I have experienced in video games. I’m a diplomatic Hawke, I believe in giving people the chance to atone, I don’t like needless violence (which is why I always play a sneaking rogue), I don’t like killing unless left with no choice. I don’t exile the wardens no matter how mad I am (and I can’t tell you how furious I am that I had to leave my beloved Alistair in the fade to die). I exhaust all dialogue options looking for one that will let me end violence without execution. And I compulsively need my companions’ approval.

I don’t often end up in a position where I experience betrayal mode in Dragon Age. Isabella really surprised me as I’ve already said. I’ve heard Zevran can betray you if you fuck up his approval but never in my world would that happen. I love talking to all my companions, I’m loyal, I do their personal quests and defend them if another one is sniping at them. I did learn to leave them home if I’m going to do something that annoys them. Which basically means Morrigan lived at camp and Fenris also stayed home a lot.

So at the very beginning I knew something was up with this skinny bald elf mage. But I was truly not prepared.

Sooty's dilemma

I feel both inspired to write and like I can't write at all so instead of wallowing in self pity I try to decide what to do next since otherwise I might just stop completely.

You'll find extra info about the options below the cut if you care.

yes, I reposted the poll cause I managed to forget a project. whoops.

1. I still have quite a few chapters to edit of Tempest Wind and one more chapter to add to the story as planned from the beginning and then I'll publish everything at once on the other platforms (don't want to spam on Tumblr, will probably increase to publishing 3 chapters a day or so).

2. I have some more ideas regarding Tempest Wind that aren't in it.

3. Write a part 2 for the God AU Shepherd (God!Knives x Reader) and make it smut like it was gonna be anyway (perhaps even a sneaky part 3 for some angst?).

4. Keep writing Vash's Moving Castle and make it into a series following loosely the plot of Trigun Maximum, but it has a Howl's Moving Castle spin on it.

5. Don't tie myself to series and start writing more OneShots, but since I don't have that many ideas then I would probably have to find myself a promptlist or writing challenge. It would include different cast (mainly Vash, Wolfwood and Knives tho since I feel most comfortable with them), themes would vary from angst to fluff to smut. I will probably write some oneshots regardless of starting a series, but there would be a lot less of them.

6. Basically want to use a lot of the common enemies to lovers tropes because it looks fun to me, it might be cliche, but watch if I care. I have a very rough idea of it, reader would probably be an independent born on no-mans-land. Not sure on the direction. I did make a poll, but I messed it up a bit so the results are a bit iffy.

DnD CHARACTERS TIME WHOOOOOO since i'm obsessed with creating funky gay magical people, and have about 20 character ideas, over the past few months i've been drawing a few of them in between my usual fanart :) if you wanna know more i'm leaving some info below ;D

these six nerds are the most developed characters i have so far, and i've only gotten to play Thessa and Valax a little before becoming my party's DM. but here they are!!

🗡️🌊 Leonard, tiefling swashbuckler rogue Ah, this fucker. He's a pirate, he's horrible, he's a tease and he only cares about himself and making gold. No horribly depressed backstory except for like, class struggle and being an orphan, he's sure to make a show everywhere he goes. With a rapier and a dagger always by his side, getting himself into trouble is always at the top of his list. At least they're entertaining and fun to be around, and being enticing sure helps draw attention away from the pickpocketing every here and there.

⚔️🛡️ Thessalya, human battle master fighter Ok ok I'm guilty of giving her way more trauma than I should have, but I love making characters go through fucked up shit and still end up being kind. That's her. Her parents abandoned her while their village was attacked and destroyed, was then captured by some shitty army. Almost died a few times from failed escape attempts, all while she was eight, but eventually she was able to run away! And thank the gods, some good knights took her in and helped her! Now she was two cool dads that taught her how to fight (and sing a little) and she loves studying history and philosophy. She's seen a lot of evil in the world so she hopes she can be strong enough to protect those who need help every now and again.

🌲🌒 Valax Roseshade, wood elf, gloom stalker ranger He's sad. He's a forest hobo. He was literally raised by wolves. He's 300 years old and tired. He smells like grass and fungi all the time. He doesn't talk about his religious trauma. He doesn't talk much in general. Still, he's a deadly shot and a good addition to a party who needs help getting around any large terrain with trees. Always looking to keep the balance between nature and civilization, hunting undead evils and shit. Yeah.

🐺🔥 Navah, human barbarian, path of the beast (possible blood hunter multiclass) Navah also suffers a bad case of parents are dead (and lycanthropy, lol), but she channels her emotions in a very different way. She has a giant axe, she's hairy, she's loud, she likes taking up space and occasionally turns into a wolf. She controls her anger, the part of her which knows she deserves better, to help folk with some extra muscle, even forging her own badass weapons (as long as there's no silver involved).

🎶🎭 Asra, moon elf, college of lore bard The Veiled Siren, as most know her by her stage name, is but a simple bard traveling from town to town. They've been on the road for many years, and home is every place where she makes friends. With a complicated past, they've managed to leave everything behind and start anew, and are enjoying the simple things in life while on a quest to inspire confidence in those who struggle with believing in themselves.

🔫✨ Elphi, tiefling gunslinger fighter/order of scribes wizard Wizard with a gun my beloved. She's smart and skilled but visibly struggles holding conversations with anyone that's not a magical talking book. I don't know who gives a kid a gun, but thankfully whoever that was taught her proper safety. Well, whoever that was, no way they're crazier than the nerdy archivist that took her in and offered his library/home for the energetic pink little demon. She's read many books about wonderful and dangerous adventures and is looking forward to write her own!

It is technically, I don't tend to play it up a whole lot because a lot of my asks are more fluff related, but I certainly have a series of kinda fucked up headcanons about some of the more unsavory aspects

Which I will elaborate on here 👏, so tw for self-harm, manipulation, dependency issues, general yandere stuff, unhealthy/toxic mindset, cult and sacrificial stuff, etc.

So reader is seen as a God, and not just a God, but the God, above all Gods

Now, thinking back in history to what humans have done in the name of 'God', I'm talking Crusades and genocide and sacrifice and mutilation, and even now all of that is seen as relatively 'normal', that's just 'how it was', there are even certain religions nowadays that are still doing some of those things like sacrificing animals and such

And all of those things were done for Gods that we can never prove the existence of, so in this case, in sagau, the 'God' is a living breathing being that can interact with the people and the world around them

So, I really would imagine that all of that unpleasant stuff would be seen as pretty normal, using the creators name to justify war and sacrifice and what have you, claiming victory as the will of the creator

It doesn't really matter if you, as the creator, encourage it or discourage it, because that's the way it has always happened, it's ritualistic in a way, and it can be hard to break a tradition

Sure, you can go ahead and plainly state the you don't want blood shed in your name, but you didn't have a problem with it up until now (as if you could have ever known or voiced your opinion), so that must mean you're simply hiding your real opinions, more so desires, about this, in order to continue to be the same merciful God you have always been known as

Oh how holy and merciful, how kind hearted and selfless you are, but truly, they don't mind sacrificing in your name, their devout worship and unwavering will to strike down anyone is surely giving you more power, so no need to be so modest, it's the least they can do

This completely devoted mindset presents itself differently in different characters of course, ones that already possessed a certain zealous for bloodshed are more likely to kill in your name, show their unwavering gratitude as they cut down 'enemies' in the midst of battle, present the bodies of those same enemies to you at your alter as a sign of their respect and appreciation for showing them your favor

If you seem disgusted or horrified, they simply didn't do a good enough job, they promise they can do better, please don't look so distraught

Other characters present as more self sacrificing, giving up their own blood in place of others

This can be seen in smaller ways by portioning off some of every meal they make in your name, giving up a percentage of Mora out of what they made for the week at the base of your statue, giving a small part of themselves to you, like a lock of hair or a few drops of blood

When that doesn't seem like enough, when they have either been particularly blessed or faced an on set of misfortune, that simply means they must give up more of themselves to you

A finger in place of a lock of hair, a decent pool of blood in place of a few drops?

They'll give as much as you would want to take, all of themselves if they have to, it's not as if you don't already own them

If you look on in horror, move to heal them or get someone to do it in your place, that means they must have sacrificed enough, right? That must mean you were satisfied with their contribution?

Now that I've ranted on about the two main types, I'll go ahead and do some more specific things for Venti

As an Archon, it's impossible to say he doesn't fall into the first category, at least a little bit, he was an active participant in the Archon war and is not particularly fazed by bloodshed and sacrifice, he's seen a decent amount of that done in his own name I'm sure

So cutting down enemies, silencing people who even dared question your authority, all of that is like his own personal song dedicated to you, it's his obligation as one of your more powerful followers to do so anyway

All that being said, I think he fits more in the second category, simply because he does have more of a moral compass than some, and much less of a desire for bloodshed than others (coughchildecough)

Venti is happy to give up his body to you, it's not as if you don't already own his soul

He'll gladly kneel at your statue for hours, until his knees physically ache, and if that doesn't seem to be getting your attention, then maybe you would prefer a different method of pain?

He's an Archon, his body can take it if you'd prefer him to bleed for you, he has to remind himself of that when his vision goes spotty, when the light headedness starts to take hold

Of course if you're giving him attention for it, fussing over him with that adorably distressed expression as soon as you find him passed out at the base of your statue, that must mean he's doing something right, right?

Oh and the way he feels almost drunk off that attention, he would bleed out a thousand times, sacrifice any part of his body or mind to feel that more

Venti would never belittle you or treat you as anything below what you are, you're a God, his God, of course you know better than him, it would be incredibly foolish to even think otherwise

So your thoughts and opinions become his, he'd defend your mindset to the end

If in doing so it would require him to completely contradict himself, to weasel his mind around the fact that you're behaving the exact same way as someone he once fought against, well, consider that another sacrifice dedicated to you

He does still believe in freedom, but that doesn't mean lack of repercussion, freedom to do or not do something doesn't negate the consequences

And maybe he didn't fully believe that way before he saw you, maybe his personal definition of freedom was a little less loose, a little more fair, but 'love' makes people do crazy things, and you really were just so much more perfect than he could have ever imagined

It's only right that he gives back to you after everything you have given him

Of course matching that is impossible, but he can still try, put you on a pedestal so far above everything else, cater to you and your happiness more thoroughly than anyone in order to gain your favor

Why shouldn't he when you continue to bless him with so much?

And if you stop giving him that attention, stop displaying your divine favor to him, well, that must mean he's simply not sacrificing enough, he'll make it up to you, ok?

-Literally the most enthusiastic person you’ve ever seen. He’d be happy to just sit in silence with you because come on, it’s YOU. There’s no one he’d rather be wasting the hours away with.

-Your biggest hype man, EVER. You post something on Instagram? Get ready for a flood of comments, all from him. You could put your phone down for two minutes after posting, and you’ll come back to 99+ notifications of just reki commenting along the lines of “woah suddenly I’m on one knee” “DAMNNNN” and many, many more.

-Never leave your phone unattended around him. He won’t snoop, but be prepared to come back to your camera roll flooded with just zoomed in pictures of his face, his mouth, his eye, ANYWHERE. Mf is spamming your whole phone with pictures of him for you to come back to.

-He has to always be touching you in some way. Whether it’s holding your hand, your waist, a casual arm around your shoulder, there has to be something. He’ll put his hand on your ass sometimes while you walk in public.

-Honestly doesn’t even think PDA is anything out of the ordinary. Like, you’re his s/o??? Yes you’re in his lap, yes you’re in the middle of the skatepark, so what? You’re his, and he’s happy he can make everyone aware of that.

-I saw a post on here that said he would peel stickers off fruit and stick them to peoples’ foreheads, and I fully stand by this. However, it doesn’t just stop at fruit stickers. Anything remotely sticky, whether it’s tags from clothes, tape from a food box, even random sequins and bits of glitter he finds around, it’s immediately being stuck to some part of your face.

-Loves casual dates. Stopping by food stalls, browsing in clothes and game stores for a few hours, and skating around with you until it’s time to go home is a dream for him. Be prepared for day-long dates, because he will clear his entire schedule just to spend the day with you.

-His family adores you. His mother is always goading him to bring you over more, complaining that she misses her "honorary son/daughter/child". His sisters love you too. Any time you come over there’s immediately three tiny bodies shooting at you, grabbing you by the waist and dragging you over to wherever they’re playing. Reki tries to drag you away, wanting to have you for himself, but you always try and stay for at least five or ten minutes. Secretly, he loves that you get along so well with his siblings, going soft at the thought of how you would act with children of your own.

-He loves playing video games with you. Sitting in his lap, the two of you could spend hours switching from game to game. One minute you could be burning down a village in Minecraft, the next complaining while Reki whoops your ass in Mario Kart. His mom brings you food for your breaks between games, and she’ll even stay for a few minutes to talk to you while Reki shifts underneath you, glowing red from embarassment.

-If you can’t skate, he would beg to teach you. If you accept, he goes all out. He’ll make you your own customised board just for practicing, making sure it’s absolutely perfert for you to learn on. But if you can skate, get ready for endless races and competitions to see who can nail a new trick the quickest.

-Adores when you come to S to support him. He loves looking into the crowd and seeing you there cheering him on before he goes into a beef. If he wins, he’ll race over to where you are in the crowd, picking you up and spinning you around, kissing you without a care in the world. However, if he loses he’s thankful you’re always there to pick him back up and make him feel better afterwards.

-Loves cleaning you up after a big fall, kissing your bruises and cuts better. He’ll carefully wrap each injury with care, telling you how brave you are, no matter how small the cut. Secretly, he loves when you baby him after he falls himself. Seeing you wipe away the blood from a new cut and place a small plaster on it with such tenderness melts his heart in a way only you could.

-Speaking of plasters, this man has one for every occasion. Princesses, pirates, aliens, cats, dogs, sparkles, stripes, you name it, he’s got it.

-The type to sneak you out at two in the morning to get a slushee with him. Honestly, he’s up so late making boards for people he just has no perception of time.

-Spams your phone with TikToks or other funny things that reminds him of you. It could be a very specific thing, or a flower or cloud. If he thinks of you when he sees it(which is fairly often), it gets sent to you.

-Talks with his hands a lot. He’s a very expressive talker, so when he’s telling you a story it feels like you’re right there in the story with him.

-Please just kiss him. His cheeks, his forehead, his hand, his shoulder, his temples, his lips. Anywhere, he’ll melt under you. Mf is touch starved to the max.

-Always knows how to make you laugh. His laugh is infectious, it could get you out of your darkest moods.

-Sleeps with his head on your chest, and one hand in your shirt little perv.

-His social media is like a SHRINE for you. His highlights, his posts, his stories, EVERYWHERE. He’s just so proud to be able to call you his that he wants the whole world to know.

-Kisses in the rain while you run home, skateboards in your hands after the weather forecast failed you once again. He’s just so happy in the moment that he can’t contain himself, so he’s pulling you into him in the pouring rain, kissing you hard while your hair gets drenched.

-You don’t need to steal his clothes, he will literally give them to you because “you just look so cute wearing them”. Occasionally, he’ll take one of your hoodies, and even if it doesn’t exactly fit him, he’ll still keep it near him while he sleeps so he can keep your scent close to him.

Langa:

-This man is so oblivious to obvious hints, but still manages to pick up on the smallest of details? It’s incredible, honestly. He could describe the exact colour of your eyes with the most insane detail, but he still won’t notice when you try and hint that you like him in the first place!

-You two have a bit more of a low-key relationship, but you’ll make your usual appearance in his Instagram posts, or on his Snapchat story with a casual caption like a simple heart, or “my love<3”

-Not very big on PDA, not because he doesn’t like it, but because he doesn’t think of it. However, when he does feel like he’s being too physically distant, he’ll link pinkies with you as you walk along, or rest his head on your shoulder while you watch a video on your phone.

-His mom adores you, which is why Langa despises bringing you to his house. You always seem to leave with seven of his baby photos from his time snowboarding in Canada, a new recipe from his mother that you complimented, another one of his hoodies, and more miscellaneous stuff that you don’t even know how it ended up in your bag. He has a little shelf in your room specifically for this random stuff, and he always adds to the collection when he comes to your house. He’ll leave a keyring, a small toy, a Polaroid, anything honestly.

-Loves dates that you can experience. The movies, aquariums, museums and the zoo are common dates for the two of you to go on, but other than that, he adores going skateboarding with you. He’s been improving, and he loves when you notice little things he’s been picking up on, whether it be a new trick or simply how he balances himself on the board.

-Adores old Disney movies. Yall will binge a ton of them in one day, having full-blown musicals in Langa’s living room. When any of the romantic songs come on, like “So this is Love” from Cinderella, Langa will stand up and offer his hand to you, as the two of you waltz around his sitting room, humming the tune of the song.

-Study dates are frequent with the two of you. If you happen to stay up late studying and fall asleep on each other, his mother will cover the two of you with a blanket, tidying some of your books and leaving with a smile, happy with the knowledge you were making her son the happiest he’s been in quite a while.

-Slow dancing in the kitchen while you cook is a regular. When a particularly sappy love song comes on while he stirs the pot, he’ll turn around and hold you close to him, twirling you around the kitchen.

-Reki constantly jokes that he is a third wheel, poking fun at the two of you, Cherry and Joe, and Shadow and “his little girlfriend back at the flower shop”. He’ll hang out of Miya, whining about them having to stick together since they’re the only two “lone wolves”. He’ll usually get a well-earned thump into the back of the head from Miya, but it’s still funny to watch the whole thing go down.

-Tends to be shy when giving you clothes, so instead of asking you to wear them he’ll leave them out in places he knows you’ll find them, or he’ll come up behind you and plop it in your lap, murmuring about how cute it would look on you.

-Please do this man’s makeup. He will sit so still for you, waiting patiently while you dab eyeshadow at his eyes, trying not to blink so you don’t mess up his mascara. He’ll sit there mesmerised for a few minutes, taking in how he looks, and simply whisper “you do this every day?”

-Evem though he’s not a very openly affectionate person, he is stuck to your hip behind closed doors. He’ll lie in your lap for hours, staring up at you while you mess with his hair, pulling it into little plaits and pigtails.

-I can’t even describe how the two of you sleep. It’s simply a mass of limbs, and no one knows exactly what belongs to who. Somehow one of yall will end up upside down, and-why is Langa on the floor??

-He could talk about his time in Canada for hours, and you’d just lie on his chest and listen to him. Every once in a while he’ll look down at you to see if you’re still listening, and his heart will melt a little every time he sees you staring back up at him, eyes wide with interest.

-This man NEVER gets jealous. You’d literally have to cling to another man for it to click in his brain that Oh. He doesn’t like that.

-He’s not big on texting, but if you call him he will stay on that call with you for hours, even after the two of you fall asleep.

-Whenever he falls(which is quite often), you’ll always have plasters on hand to help fix him up. He always flushes bright red when you kiss his cuts better, and never knows just what to do with himself afterwards.

-When he skates against tough opponents, you’ll always give him a kiss for good luck. Of course, this doesn’t stop you worrying, but you know Langa wouldn’t go out of his way to get injured. And if he does, well, at least he’ll have you there to kiss his bruises better.

Okay, so like, some of you guys have been asking for me to upload some of my works here, so here I go at last. Please don't hurt me. ; v ;

My name is Pat and I'm one of the original authors for that god-awful ZADR fanfic, "ZADR Orange." It's likely one of the cringiest fanfics I've ever written in my life, but like, also the thing that has been feeding my soul for the past 10 years of working on it. The beginning is rushed and terrible, the characters are OOC, and my writing from back then is just...blah. HOWEVER it's become something I can't let go of and so I continue to plague the fandom with its continued existence even after all these years of posting. Some people have come to love it, others hate it to its core, but for me, it's that thing that has given my life purpose (as stupid as that may sound). It's pushed me to make improvements in my writing, even if you can't necessarily see those improvements in the earliest chapters of the work (and by earliest chapters, I mean like the first 150 of them. Yep, that's how long it took me to not suck as much as I did back then). To this day, I continue to upload new content and VERY SLOWLY make revisions to its beginning. Perhaps someday it will be a halfway decent work of fiction in the fandom and not a target for criticism as mentioned in this hate Wiki:  https://toxicfandomsandhatedoms.miraheze.org/wiki/Invader_Zim_Fandom (which I really can't argue with. There are like a million other fics posted in this fandom that far surpass anything that I could ever hope to write, but still, I strive to improve my works constantly. I know I've gotten a lot of love and support from some fans over the years, but my inner critic is always there to remind me that if I hadn't been the one to write it myself, I likely would have passed it up as a reader simply for its rushed formatting, dialogue, and word flow. Also for the copious amounts of pointless filler word vomit I tend to get into because I think it's interesting at the time only to realize later that I was simply rambling. But ah well. That's just how it goes sometimes, especially when writing an RP (Oh, did I mention that this story was originally a role play with another person? Yeah, there's that too. Since I was the one writing our parts into narrative though, I feel solely responsible for butchering what could have been a decent story if I just hadn't rushed the beginning bits so much). Umm...But yeah, anyways, moving on.

As I mentioned above, this story has also been accused of portraying the characters as WAY OOC from the show. Once again, my fault because I have a tendency towards writing Dib as a whiny little overemotional bitch most of the time. Sorry about that. ; v ; It's a preference in most of my writing with him though. To me personally, what makes ZADR so appealing in the long run, is exploring the emotional torment of somebody who has been called crazy all his life. Dib is just the saddest little stubborn panda bear in all of my writing and I heavily prefer works in which he is the submissive to Zim. Like, Zim is adorable in his own right, but I can't imagine him simply surrendering his dominance to Dib, regardless of how much taller Dib might ever grow. Plus, in my head, Dib will always be that hopeless virgin type of character (even if Zim IS fucking his brains out half the time in my works). Zim's not as clueless as he may seem sometimes either. Like, he's lived a whole other life long before he came to Earth. I imagine he's seen some things and experienced more in his life than Dib has, even if one of the main consensus is that Irken's mature more slowly than humans. Irken society is very different from human society in my mind so I imagine some things are more normal for Irkens than other things (but I won't get into that here. That's a post for a different point in time.)

Whoo boy, this is getting long, and I haven't even posted a link to the actual story yet. ; v ; I guess what I'm trying to say though is that I have a very personal way of viewing and portraying the characters in my work. Perhaps that's why it gets both positive and negative feedback from people. I don't expect everybody to agree with or even like my work, but I simply ask that it not be crushed into the ground for its flaws. Above all else, I write my stories for fun and to see my own improvement. And yes, I know it may seem weird that I'm so paranoid about advertising a work that's been present in this fandom for YEARS now (especially as it used to be advertised quite a lot back when I was still writing it with my co-writer), but let's just say this fandom has left me with some pretty nasty battle scars in the past. I know the haters will always exist and they're better off ignored, but I've had to see close friends come and go from this fandom as a result of that hate. I don't understand the fixation some people have with drama in this fandom. Yes, you're entitled to an opinion, but please don't shove it in other people's faces. It's like some people enjoy intentionally being assholes online and trying to ruin other people's fun. I've tried to distance myself from that sort of hatred because I don't need that sort of stress in my life any longer. But in doing so, it DOES make it harder to interact with the nicer fans out there/continue posting my works, regardless of how long I've been in the fandom. Also, I was kind of an attack dog back in the day when it came to defending some of my friends, which kind of put me in a bad light to some people in the fandom for a while. Whoops. My bad. As much as I hated that sort of drama, I was always the first to jump in and make an ass of myself when it came to defending my friend. Hahaha. <XD

planning out a kh!eren has been rough and planning out kh!eren’s nobdy has been even worse.

i don’t update here as much as i used to because all i do nowadays is spam my poor twitter followers (whoops!) with my cursed and awful ideas ft. verbal emotion talk. i have been working on things, particularly my kingdom hearts selfships 💦 some ideas i post and brainstorm, and others stay in the brain and never get to see the light.

but first things first, i want to complain about kh!eren, who is still being worked on in The Lab™ as i type this.

the thing is with kh!eren is that i still have no real grasp and understanding of the plot and lore. there’s a bunch of what ifs and hows that spin around in my brain while i’m trying to solidify my ideas, and i feel like my answers are right in front of me yet i’m so blind to them. at this point, i can’t really care much about creating this grand, original backstory for kh!eren because that’s a lot of brain work i can’t spare (i still haven’t read ansem’s notes). of course, i’ll change things up when the time comes around but since my knowledge on kh is still shaky, i’d rather not have to deal with weird plot stuff juuust yet.

it’s tedious, but it’s fun in its own way. what can i explore? what haven’t i? how can i change things? how will this affect what’s already existing? i could pull things out of my ass and then make things work, but alas, “canon is my playground.”

a lot of what i’m having trouble with is more technical stuff, too. i spent weeks trying to figure out exactly what kind of attribute i want my character to have, and what kind of weapon they’d be using while in organization xiii. i normally default to the “sniper role” as seen with my fate insert, but unfortunately for me, rat man was waaay ahead of my time. and then i figured i’d go for lances since that’s. well, it’s not my brand but i’m associated with characters that tend to use things similar to lances when in combat, you know? but xaldin beat me to it. and this is the part where i was like, “okay, well, you’re clearly having difficulties trying to find a weapon for kh!eren’s nobody... let’s move onto something else.”

turns out trying to figure out an attribute was worse. initially i joked around and said that kh!eren’s nobody should be able to manipulate space, but turns out rat man beat me again. i’m going to destroy you, xigbar. i would’ve defaulted to water or ice, but demyx and vexen respectively already have those attributes. after a while, i figured i’d work with poison but even now, i’m still unhappy with the attribute because it doesn’t really sit with me. i’ve never been a... “poison” kinda person, but i guess metaphorically it’d make sense.

and i can’t even let kh!eren’s nobody be associated with the moon because Saïx Was Here. there goes my sun/moon ship dynamic. all of my “go-to” ideas have basically been used in the official material (which is nice, but i’m also suffering), and i’m forced to think out of the box. that’s... probably why i’m having so much trouble too because, and as stupid as this sounds, i haven’t really thought out of the box in a while. most of my characters follow a singular trope with a very specific association, but as most of it was done already, i’m kinda forced to get creative because i’ll feel awfully guilty if i don’t. i don’t wanna steal ideas that already exist in canon!! that makes me feel bad.

the only thing i’m semi-okay with is kh!eren’s design along with their nobody, and even that’s subject to change as i gain more ideas and flesh them out further. technical information should have been easy to fill out, but to my surprise, it was hard to do even that. what’s their number? their title? you know, all that stuff. i realized that, “wow. kh!eren is... a pretty blank slate right now” besides the existing design. which doesn’t look that bad, actually. i got anxious about posting it because i felt that they wouldn’t belong in the kh universe, but those are trivial things i don’t have to worry about at the moment. design changes to kh!eren and their nobody can come later... i wanna worry about the other important stuff, like weapon and their attribute.

and i think, technically speaking, i could slap just about anything onto kh!eren’s nobody. but i also would like something that, well, i like. i know that they usually have to do with something... kind of natural? organic is a weird word to describe it as but that’s about it. i don’t think you can technically use an actual manifestation of “shadows” or “darkness” since xemnas has “nothingness” as his attribute which is kind of... the same, or similar to, thing to shadows/darkness. ANYWAYS, i’m still putting thought into this. it’s hard, and my brain’s the size of a pea.

but as for weaponry, i am getting somewhere! i was thinking of using something similar to the weapon, kama, except double that and then double that again. i don’t know what to name it yet, and i’m already thinking about how this can spark up interactions with the other members of organization xiii. but the fun stuff has to wait, because there’s a few roads i wanna take with kh!eren... i say a few as if there’s gonna actually be a “few,” but i’m honestly thinking like. two roads, at most. if i wanna go crazy then three, but that’s not very likely.

i mean, i guess to some extent, attribute isn’t so important that if i don’t figure one out, i’ll die, but also... if i don’t figure one out, i just might. it’s just a little thing i’ve been stressing out over!! i don’t think i should be, but god, i really am.

that’s also just the tip of the iceberg of problems, too. i have their whole backstory to work out and i may just use an au or two to make things work in their own right.

if you looked at my ugly handwriting (or under the read more), i put “birth by sleep/kingdom hearts union x.” i’ve been considering a few routes in terms of that...

see, if i let kh!eren’s starting point be birth by sleep, then their story would begin before the actual events of birth by sleep (with aqua, terra, and ventus). they’d be training under master eraqus to be a keyblade master as would any other dedicated student, but the teachings of light and dark eventually become convoluted within their mind. what’s right, and what’s wrong? is this really okay? things like that, where they question their role and their existence within the world, or worlds, rather. the answers spiral down into a dark place solely because kh!eren was in a dark place during these events. i’d imagine even before meeting master eraqus that their life was basically in shambles and they were put under this constant state of stress where they’d constantly turn to the darkness. however; i’d also imagine that kh!eren wouldn’t want to fall to darkness, because that’s what’s expected of them. nobody wants to succumb to the darkness because it’s terrifying. but there comes a point in their life where they’re just this void of any real feelings because they can’t recognize or distinguish what from what anymore, and they begin to question the world from their own perspective. this causes them to seek out “answers” to fulfill their curiosity and to give them something akin to a purpose, in which in the process, they lose everything and follow xehanort. or something like that.

but if i dropped them off into the place where everything began, then things would be just a liiittle different. maybe not entirely, but kh!eren would be a bit of a schemer. they question their existence after the happenings of the keyblade war to find out that nothing truly matters, and they become this cunning kind of character that breathes “using people for their own means.” but they’re not necessarily submitting themselves to darkness, because they believe that what they do is for “the greater good.” i guess this weird, chaotic neutral or good kind of character. but time passes and it passes, and there’s nothing but “i remember what i did before, so if i can keep up the act, i can pass as a person.” and that’s most of their life in the organization, which would just be going through duties and playing their role. do they know the truth? yeah, perhaps. do they do anything about it? no, what’s the point?

i have more material to work with if i start with birth by sleep, but at the same time, whatever happens in khux kind of interests me and i want to see where it goes... which is why i was planning two aus... but god knows i might just smash them together for convenience which. i’m not sure how’d that work considering both kh!erens start off at different times and have different experiences, even if they do end up ultimately the same by the end. one’s just more sarcastic! not that big of a difference.

god, this got so damn long. i’ve just been in this rambly mood where i wanna spam and dump my thoughts somewhere and i guess this is it!
