I'm not even surprised.

I managed to finally upload the last of the VODs from my twitch account, and then spent days trying to edit one of them, only to find a week later that the edits were never processed by youtube- or didn't appear to be, anyway. Youtube thinks that the edits went through, so I can't do anything else with the video anyway except to try and re-blur things or just reverse the mess.

This is ridiculous- really hammers in the point that if you want to do any real editing with a VOD, you might as well take the extended time to download it to your computer, edit it on real programs, and then reupload it to youtube. Sure, it'll take a lot of time and be a pain in the ass- but at least it'll work the first time.

You know, uh, barring a crash or three…

…anyway. I've kept my youtube dormant long enough. I'll just start unprivating every stream that's happened since (about a month's worth) and maybe get back to the errant vod one of these days.

…and take some steps to ensure I don't need to do any post-stream censoring in the future.

I commissioned @zensations35 for the audio and am absolutely in love with their work ^^~ thank you so much Zen for all of your hard work and letting me use it for this silly little animatic of mine 😌

I learned new skills such as DaVinci Resolve :D my first longgg animatic-I’ve done like 12second clock app videos but 2min!? I have so many things I could critique on what I would’ve done better or changed but I’m going to just be proud of how this came out and take notes for next time 🙂‍↕️

Can Capcut stop adding these useless AI tools that do not help me? No, Capcut, I am not wanting a fake woman in my video.. no Capcut I don't need assistance with text either. Again, Capcut, no I don't want AI on my art. why do you ask this??? Davinci resolve also did this to me, and I am this frustrated with AI tools thinking they can force themselves onto me with editing softwares.. ALSO do not get me wrong, both softwares are fun to use, I just dislike having AI shoved in my face, constantly. It's parasitic.

Today marks a year since I made my first gif!

I've gotten so much better since I quickly exported this gif a year ago. I hadn't planned on becoming a gifmaker at that point, I'd just wanted a gif for a post and so it's not edited at all. The entire thing took me about 30 minutes, and 29 of those were spent googling how to export a gif in Davinci Resolve 😂

But here's what I can do now:

The colouring and sizing and basically everything about it is so much better. And I'm still learning so much!! Just today I took a bit of time to learn more about the channel mixer in photoshop, and now I know so much more than I did this morning. I can't wait to spend another year learning even more and getting even better at making gifs!

And since I know some people enjoy seeing them, here's before and after of the gifs I made today:

Learning how to make gifs has been so much fun. I've met so many wonderful people because I started gifmaking, and I've had more fun in fandom than I have in years. I dont need adobe products anymore!!!! YAY Congratulations ! (to me) I feel just as confident now with other things..! deleted all my adobe products! everything that I knew about photoshop I re-learned how to be just as efficient in Krita everything that I knew about after effects I re-learned compositing my work in DaVinci resolve ! for awhile I have been making animations (that have the level of quality that I want) without using any adobe products! HONESTLY I should be making way more video tutorials or process videos !

I had so much fun putting this together, even though I kind of wanted to tear my own hair out. I challenged myself to learn Davinci Resolve instead of sticking with my beloved Final Cut and, um, it was a JOURNEY, babe, let me tell you.

I'm glad I did it, though! I mean, yes, I do love Halloween, but I also wanted to make something special for the indomitable, always fabulous @sirianasims. I love this community, and since joining, I've met so many lovely simblr friends. But I wouldn't even be here with Siri. Not only is she a patient sounding board for all my (admittedly unhinged) ideas. She's super fucking generous with all her talents and never hesitates to help me out. She is a baddie, and I'm lucky to count her as a friend.

No sims were harmed in the filming of the machinima, but they did look good as hell thanks to some incredible cc creators (@sentate, the collab by @ice-creamforbreakfast and @surely-sims, @lady-moriel and billion more things I have in my game, so pls don't hesitate to ask if you see something you like).

Also, I'm obsessed with this lot by @rheya28. I had to destroy a few things to make it spooky, but I swear, if you download it, there is no blood on the walls or cobwebs.
