chef's kiss is not enough

synopsis: a simple night out for good food changes when you meet the chef behind a dish that leaves you speechless.
pairing: chef!bakugou katsuki x f!reader

the restaurant is cozy, the kind of place that doesn’t draw much attention from the outside but feels like a hidden treasure once you step inside.
soft lighting casts a warm glow over the wooden tables, and the low murmur of conversation mixes with the occasional clinking of plates.
you’re here with friends, seated at a corner table, menus spread out in front of you.
it’s the kind of night where you’re just looking forward to good food and laughter.
the waiter approaches, balancing several plates on his tray, and sets a bowl down in front of you. you thank him absentmindedly, but the moment your eyes land on your dish, you can’t help but pause.
it’s beautiful in its simplicity—steaming ramen served in a deep bowl, the broth shimmering under the restaurant’s soft light.
thin slices of pork rest delicately on the surface, alongside a soft-boiled egg, its yolk a vibrant golden color. green onions and a sheet of nori top it off, each detail deliberate and precise.
when you take the first bite, your eyes widen. the broth is rich and savory, the kind of flavor that seems to envelop your entire mouth.
the noodles are perfectly cooked, springy but not too firm, soaking up just enough of the broth.
each topping complements the next—the pork is tender, the egg creamy, the green onions adding a fresh, sharp contrast.
it’s the kind of dish that doesn’t just taste good; it feels like someone put their heart into it.
“oh my god,” you mutter, setting your chopsticks down for a moment. “this is incredible.”
your friends laugh at your reaction, one of them nudging you with their elbow. “you always get like this when the food’s good.”
“no, but this—this is different,” you insist, leaning closer to the bowl as if it holds some sort of secret. “this isn’t just good; this is like…life-changing.”
the comment earns a round of laughter, but you’re already distracted, glancing around the room for the waiter.
when you catch his eye, you raise a hand. “excuse me, who’s the chef here?”
the waiter looks surprised by the question. “our head chef is bakugou katsuki. would you like me to—”
“yes, please,” you interrupt, a little too quickly. realizing how eager you sound, you backtrack. “I mean, if he’s not too busy.”
the waiter nods and disappears toward the kitchen, leaving your friends to give you a variety of amused and curious looks.
“what?” you say defensively. “it’s not every day you eat something this good.”
a few minutes later, the kitchen door swings open, and the man who walks out is…not what you expected.
you were picturing someone older, maybe with a few gray hairs and a soft smile.
instead, this man—bakugou katsuki, apparently—is tall and broad-shouldered, his chef’s coat fitting snugly over a strong frame.
his spiky blond hair looks slightly damp, like he’s been working hard, and his expression is one of mild irritation.
he looks more like a professional athlete than a chef.
“what?” he says, his voice low and rough, as he strides up to your table. his crimson eyes sweep over the group before landing on you.
and for a moment, bakugou freezes. he didn’t know what to expect when the waiter said someone wanted to meet him—probably some pompous critic or a customer with a laundry list of complaints.
but you’re not what he expected. at all. there’s something about the way you’re looking at him, your eyes wide with a mix of nervousness and awe, that throws him completely off balance.
you’re…really pretty. too pretty, actually.
it’s annoying, how much it catches him off guard. his chest tightens, and he suddenly feels hyperaware of himself—his hands, his posture, the faint dampness of his forehead from the heat of the kitchen.
damn it.
“I, uh,” you start, faltering under his intense gaze. you weren’t expecting him to be so—well, intimidating. “I just wanted to say that the food is amazing. like, really amazing.”
for a moment, he just stares at you, his jaw tightening slightly. then he rubs the back of his neck, glancing away as if trying to compose himself. “thanks,” he mutters, his tone less gruff than before.
the way he looks away almost makes you smile.
he doesn’t seem like the type to take compliments well, and you can’t help but find it endearing. but at the same time, his presence is overwhelming, and you feel heat creeping up your neck.
“well,” he says abruptly, his eyes snapping back to yours. “if that’s it, I’ve got stuff to do.”
“right, of course,” you say quickly, nodding. “thank you again.”
he nods once, almost curtly, before turning and heading back toward the kitchen. you watch him go, your mind racing with thoughts you can’t quite organize.
the rest of the evening goes by in a blur.
you and your friends continue to chat and laugh, but your thoughts keep drifting back to bakugou. his sharp eyes, the way he looked almost flustered when you complimented him.
it’s distracting, and you can’t quite shake it.
as you’re leaving, stepping out into the cool night air, a voice calls out behind you.
“hey.”
you turn to see him standing in the doorway, still in his chef’s coat. he looks like he’s debating whether this is a good idea or not, his expression tight with something between determination and reluctance.
in his hand is a paper bag with the restaurant’s logo. “here,” he says, holding it out to you.
you blink, confused. “I didn’t order takeout.”
“it’s on me,” he says, shoving the bag toward you. his crimson eyes flick to the side, avoiding your gaze.
“oh, but—”
“just take it,” he interrupts, his voice firm but not unkind.
you hesitate for a moment before taking the bag. your fingers brush against his, and the brief contact sends a strange warmth through your chest. “thank you,” you murmur.
he nods, and for a moment, it looks like he might say something else. but then he just steps back inside, the door closing behind him.
when you get home, you open the bag to find a perfectly packaged serving of the ramen you raved about earlier. sitting on top is a small note, written in slightly messy handwriting:
xxx-xxx-xxxx the name’s katsuki. text me.
a smile creeps onto your face, and you find yourself thinking that maybe, just maybe, you will.

Airport - LN4
*:・゚ Summary: Lando Norris offers a woman, who missed her flight, a ride on his private jet to Monaco. They bond over light conversation and flirting, leaving with the possibility of seeing each other again.
*:・゚ Word count: 1323

୨ৎ
The race weekend had been long, grueling, and filled with adrenaline. Lando Norris was ready to head back to Monaco, to the comfort of his own home where the sound of engines could be swapped for the quiet of the Mediterranean breeze. As he made his way through the airport, sunglasses perched on his nose and his cap pulled low, he weaved his way through the flow of people without drawing too much attention to himself.
It wasn’t until he neared the private terminal that he noticed something out of the ordinary: a young woman standing near the gate of a commercial flight to Monaco, her expression a mix of frustration and panic. Lando slowed his steps, curiosity piqued. She stood there, gazing hopelessly at the closed gate, gripping her passport tightly. Her bags were tossed haphazardly by her feet as though she’d raced through the airport only to fall seconds short of making it to her flight.
The sharpness of disappointment etched on her face was all too familiar. He’d been in similar situations before, dashing through airports, missing flights by mere moments. Only, she didn’t seem to have the luxury of a private jet waiting just down the hall like he did.
Lando hesitated. He didn’t know her story, but something about the way she stood there, looking so defeated, tugged at him. He glanced at his watch. His jet was leaving soon, but he still had time. And, well, maybe this wouldn’t be the worst idea. What was the harm in offering a bit of help?
He pulled his cap down a little further and crossed the distance between them, moving casually as though he were just another traveler making his way to his flight.
“Missed your flight?” he asked, his voice light but laced with concern.
She turned to look at him, startled at first, then quickly took him in—cap, sunglasses, and all. Recognition flickered in her eyes, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Just a flicker.
“Yeah,” she breathed out with a weak chuckle. “By about three minutes. They wouldn’t let me through even though the plane is still sitting there.”
“That’s tough,” Lando said, giving her a sympathetic smile. “Where you heading?”
“Monaco,” she said with a shrug, though it seemed like a more resigned gesture. “Guess I’ll have to wait for the next one.”
Lando nodded, glancing around the terminal. The airport was buzzing with the usual chaos, and he could see the stress rolling off her shoulders. He thought for a second, then made a split decision. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
“I’m heading there too,” he said, slipping his hands into his pockets. “I’ve got a private jet leaving soon. If you want, you can take the flight with me.”
Her eyebrows shot up, and her lips parted slightly, a mixture of surprise and hesitation crossing her features.
“A private jet?” she asked, a little skeptical. “Isn’t that...a bit much?”
Lando laughed softly. “Maybe, but I’ve got plenty of room. Plus, you look like you could use a break from airport stress. I promise it’s less chaotic than commercial flights.”
She blinked, clearly processing his offer. The idea of getting onto a private jet with a guy she just met—even if he was Lando Norris—probably wasn’t something she had expected when she woke up that morning.
“That’s...really kind of you,” she said after a moment, her voice soft. “But I couldn’t—“
“Sure you can,” he interrupted, his tone teasing but warm. “Think of it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You miss your flight, and instead of waiting around, you get to fly in style. How often does that happen?”
She laughed at that, the tension in her shoulders easing slightly. “When you put it like that…”
Lando grinned, taking her hesitation as a positive sign. “C’mon, what’s the worst that could happen? You get to Monaco an hour earlier, and we both get some company for the flight. No need to sit around waiting for the next one.”
She looked at him again, weighing her options. He could see the internal debate playing out in her eyes—logic versus the sheer spontaneity of his offer. Finally, she sighed, her lips curling into a tentative smile.
“Alright,” she said, running a hand through her hair. “Why not? But I’ll warn you, I might be a terrible conversationalist after the day I’ve had.”
“That’s okay,” Lando replied with a wink. “I’m known to talk enough for two.”
With that, he grabbed one of her bags effortlessly, motioning for her to follow him toward the private terminal. She trailed behind, still looking a little shell-shocked, but there was something about the ease of his manner that made her feel less anxious about the whole thing.
As they walked, Lando kept the conversation light, asking her about her trip and how she ended up almost missing her flight. She shared a story about how her taxi had gotten stuck in traffic, the minutes ticking away as she helplessly watched the airport get closer and closer. Lando laughed, offering a few of his own travel horror stories in return. By the time they reached the sleek jet waiting on the tarmac, the mood between them was light and comfortable.
-
“You weren’t kidding,” she muttered as they approached the aircraft, eyes wide as she took it all in. “This is...wow.”
Lando chuckled and waved a hand. “It’s not bad, right?”
They climbed aboard, and soon enough, they were airborne. The hum of the engines was soothing, and the view of the clouds stretching out below them was a peaceful contrast to the chaos of the airport they’d left behind.
“You know,” she said after a while, leaning back in her plush seat, “I still can’t believe I’m on a private jet with you. This feels surreal.”
Lando smirked, leaning forward slightly, his elbows resting on his knees. “Trust me, I’ve been in a lot of surreal situations lately. This one’s pretty tame.”
She laughed, shaking her head. “I guess that’s fair. Monaco, huh? Do you live there?”
“Yeah, for a while now,” he replied, glancing out the window. “It’s a nice place to unwind after the craziness of race weekends.”
“I’ve always wanted to visit,” she admitted. “I mean, I’ve been through a few times, but never really had a chance to stay.”
“Well, maybe this is your chance,” he said, eyes twinkling. “What’s your plan once we get there?”
“I was supposed to meet a friend,” she said with a sigh. “But it’s not set in stone. What about you?”
“Just heading home,” Lando said, then added with a teasing grin, “But if you need a tour guide while you’re there, I might be available.”
She raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at her lips. “Are you offering to show me around Monaco, Lando?”
“Maybe,” he said, his grin widening. “Depends if you’re up for it.”
She laughed softly, glancing out the window again. “I might take you up on that.”
For the rest of the flight, the conversation flowed easily, peppered with light flirtation and comfortable silences. There was something so natural about it—like they’d known each other for longer than just a chance meeting in an airport.
As the jet began its descent toward Monaco, Lando glanced over at her, feeling a strange sense of contentment.
“Guess we’re almost there,” he said.
”Yeah,” she replied, though her tone held a hint of reluctance. “Thanks again for this, Lando. You really saved my day.”
He flashed her a playful grin. “Anytime. Maybe I’ll see you around Monaco.”
“Maybe,” she said with a smirk of her own. “But next time, let’s hope it’s under more normal circumstances.”
“Deal,” he replied with a wink.
As they stepped off the jet and into the warm Monaco air, Lando couldn’t help but think that maybe missing her flight had been the best thing that could’ve happened to either of them that day.

Could you please give headcanons on how LAD men would react if MC is non-jealous? Like they got hit on but MC isn't bothered or phased just stand there n watch the whole thing unfold (you can say Mc is amused at the attempt or smug about it cuz it shows that she had good taste in men) sry if my english is bad
im assuming that this is what youre referring too so ive put them both into one request lol
Zayne doesn't really mind it. He likes that you aren't jealous because he wants to be with someone who's secure in his relationship considering how late his hours are and how he can't be around as often as he would like to be. Knowing that you're more than fine with him focusing on work those days where he really has to focus and can't see you.
He doesn't get hit on too often because of the slightly chilly demeanor he has. People tend to leave him alone, especially with how obvious he makes it that you're dating him by the way he holds you. However, whenever people do try it he's glad that you don't mind it. He doesn't want you to think that he has eyes for anybody but you, even if a very very small part of him his curious to see what your protective side might be like when it comes to him.
When someone starts to insult you is when he starts shutting things down. He's telling them to stop saying things like that because there's no way he'd fall for their weak attempts at manipulation and will honestly start trying to walk away. If you stop minding your own business and start paying attention to him he'll try to guide you away to prevent you from hearing something nasty being said about you.
You gently shush him, smiling to yourself as you listen to the person rant at you. You know that Zayne doesn't want you to draw attention to the two of you so you let them complain before asking them if they think behaving like a child is really how you find a man that's as accomplished and sophisticated as Zayne. You don't really need to say much anyway because they can see how Zayne looks at them with a mild irritation for how they've interrupted your day before simply bidding them a goodbye. They're stuck trying to figure out how to reply to your words, forced to confront their childish actions.
If they decide to continue, following you around and shouting obscenities at you then you simply tell them that they look pathetic begging for him like this and that everybody around you is laughing at them. Public shame is a strong deterrent and they're forced to leave you alone. Zayne doesn't say anything but he does press a soft kiss to your cheek, not wanting to be too affectionate in public with how many eyes are on you but he's also very proud of how you can easily stand your ground.
Xavier likes knowing that he's yours but he also doesn't care too much for giant overt displays. He likes the subtle ways you show your his and he can show others that he's yours. It shows in the subtle way the two of you speak of how intertwined your lives are, just how casual the two of you are with each other. There's this implicit understanding that's shared between the two of you that just makes it seem like you two have been married for thirty years.
He doesn't mind that you aren't jealous over him but he also sometimes wants to see you being possessive over him. He likes seeing how your eyes flash and how you slide yourself next to him. You'll kiss his cheek and smile at him before asking who his new friend is. He typically doesn't entertain conversations with people who aren't you but he's much more subtle about it. People don't notice that he's not checked into the conversation until they suddenly realise he's quiet not because he's listening, but because he's fully just on his phone or started to leave when they looked away from him.
He doesn't get hit on often but when he does it's because people see him as an easy target. They think that he's chill and would be receptive to getting their number when it's totally the opposite. He doesn't even look at people who try to flirt with him, immediately pulling out his phone to text you to come find him faster because people are trying to get his number.
You show up quickly as soon as you hear them telling him how clearly, you don't care about him if you've just abandoned him like that. They're claiming that if you really loved him as much as he says he does then you wouldn't have left him alone like that. They start going on and on as you approach, tapping their shoulder as you gently push them aside to perch yourself on Xavier's lap. He doesn't expect it but he welcomes in anyway, happily returning the soft kiss you give him.
You totally ignore the person flirting with him, rolling your eyes as you tell them that Xavier hates it when people just prattle on and on about nothing like the way they're doing right now. You don't even let them get another word in as you tell him that you're tired and wanna go home now - your day was ruined by them and you didn't feel like staying out anymore.
He likes how you basically just totally shut them down without a second though, standing up with him and taking his hand. The two of you just fully ignore them, heading home as Xavier tells you he likes it when you do things like that.

Rafayel loves being obvious about how much he loves you. He's constantly hit on at parties and generally when he's in an okay mood he won't be as openly hostile about rejecting advances if Thomas begs him not to. He feels bad for the guy sometimes, knowing how difficult he can be to work with but not bad enough to actually be fully nice to everyone at events.
He wishes you were more openly jealous around him, recounting some stories specifically in hopes of getting a rise out of you. He doesn't want to like, actually hurt your feelings but he does want to see you pout and get a little clingy if possible. You know that that's his goal whenever he tells you about another socialite hitting on him and you entertain him by being dramatic in response, Rafayel lightly pouting at how you aren't taking him seriously but he also knows you're doing that because you love him.
When someone is genuinely trying to flirt with him and tells him that you aren't even rich or famous enough to be around him your first response is to just let him deal with it. He's very good at rejecting people but you feel bad when he meets your gaze from across the room, a pleading look on his face as he tries to convince you to come and rescue him. You decide to take pity on him and head over, trying to tell the socialite to back off. They just start to get in your face, telling you that you have no business acting the way you do, going off on you.
You just sigh and tell them that it doesn't matter how much they beg Rafayel doesn't like them and has personally told you himself how much he can't stand these parties because of people like them. You make it quite pointed that Rafayel hates these events and that if it were up to him, he wouldn't be here especially with them. Rafayel doesn't even need to say anything as he just stands behind you, arms around your waist as he just nods in agreement with your words, giving you a kiss as the other person finally gives up and fully leaves the party, embarrassed as everybody started staring at the argument that the two of you were having. The confident demeanor you have while Rafayel drapes himself off of you has everyone chuckling to themselves at how shameless the other party is, unfortunately staining their reputation as someone desperate to climb the social ladder.
Rafayel basks in the attention you showered him in and how hot he thinks it is that you made it so obvious you're his. You never left his side for the rest of the evening and he had fun introducing you to literally everyone. He'll ask you to do it more often if you can, totally obsessed with how you handled the situation so easily.

Sylus is pretty okay about the fact that you don't show any jealousy when he's flirted with. People are usually too scared of him to flirt with him anyway. Internally though, he also does want to see how you'd react when jealous. He doesn't do anything to trigger it but clearly, he doesn't really have to. Sometimes, he might make light jokes about how you don't get jealous because you know he has nothing on his mind but you. You don't have the heart to admit the fact that you know he's obsessed with you, but you also love knowing that he is. He makes it so obvious but he isn't even aware of how obvious he is about loving you, constantly spoiling you in every way.
He doesn't often attend events but he had to this one time, leading to people falling all over themselves to try and get his attention. You know that he can take care of himself but you also can't help the possessive streak that you feel at someone trying to take away something that's yours. He was having the time of his life /s avoiding everyone or making snide remarks as people try to steal his attention from you. You were trying to socialise with some people on his behalf, wanting to be friendly when you saw just how crowded he was with people trying to flirt with him.
His eyes follow you as you come to him, beginning to tell people off for acting so desperate around him. You remind them that Sylus chooses only the best and unfortunately for them, that so happens to be you. He doesn't say anything to you as you continue to tell people off, watching you with amusement in his eyes. You don't even feel his gaze as people weakly try to retaliate against your points, leading to you proving how wrapped around your finger you have him. He barely registers what's happening until he's delivering a plate of food to you, gazing at you with a soft expression that nobody's ever seen on him before. It makes it pretty clear that he won't ever see anybody that isn't you and shuts them up - if their egos aren't already decimated by how crude you were in calling out the desperate behaviour.
He'll tell you later as the two of you are getting ready for bed how flattered he was to have all of your attention on reminding people how much you love him. That overt display of affection is one he wants, obsessed with being shown in definitive ways just how much you love him.

Hello, I really liked the way you write about Jinx, can you please write about how femme! the reader and Isha fall into a trap and as a result, while protecting Isha, the reader is injured and Jinx goes into her killer mode (you don’t have to write if you don’t want to) you can just write aftercare if you want

A helping hand
A/N: and here it's finally done! I could have made this oneshot quicker and shorter but then I got chaught up in writing it... and I woke up eight days later with this in my drafts😂. I don't ususally like how I handle stories, but I think that this one turned out pretty good. As mentioned in another post, it's very heavily plot driven and it's a wopping eleven pages worth of writing. My grammar, as always, might not be the top gamma. I hope you guys will enjoy it! Also this was mixed with something someone suggested on ao3!
Contains: female reader, violence, murder, mentions of saliva and vomiting, hurt and comfort, very heavily plot driven, happy ending with a happy family. Lenght: 6k/ 11 pages.
The limited air inside the vent makes you choke on your breath, chemicals and smoke filling your lungs and hollowing your brain. A loud sound echoes inside the metal hull, alerting every one of your senses. "Isha! Be careful!" you whisper-yell at the kid, who's crouching in front of you, placing her hat back on.
She just huffs in response, rolling her eyes before continuing her tour inside Zaun's vents. Isha has not been too fond of you since you entered her life; one reason could be that she thought she had to compete with you for Jinx's attention. The other reason, maybe, is that you were from topside. Piltover, The City of Progress. The city who exploited and hurt the poor citizens of the Undercity. Avid hands commanding from atop marble skyscrapers, grinning smiles sucking away the air of the lanes.
It's no wonder you're not Isha's favorite; Sevika too seemed to have a disdain for you, either because of your privileged position or for the way Jinx was distracted and dreamy when you were near.
To ingratiate yourself into Isha's favours and to make it at least somewhat pleasant for both of you to be near each other, you agreed to follow her in a walk through the lanes.
Jinx had invited you into her own private lair, after much convincing on her part. One day, she just swept you up and brought you down with her, making you walk through fissures, alleys and neon lit streets.
"You should have a tour of The Lanes, y'know, to learn how life's like down here" a flicker of a spark reflecting in her goggles as she made some of her obscure machine-thingies. "So give me one" you said, prompting Jinx to hum in thought. "I am busy today, and Sev' is too. Besides, I don't think you'll enjoy each other's company" she glanced at Isha, who was drawing Stinkmaw on her notebook. "You'll just have to settle for Isha" the kid propped her head up at the mention of her name, already looking with stars in her eyes at Jinx, not aware of your previous conversation. "What do you say Isha? Want to have fun with your new friend? Give her a tour of the Undercity?", Isha sized you from head to toe with a snarl on her lips, eyes moving between you and Jinx while her face became more and more agitated. "Come on, she's not that boring" Jinx moved back to her work, sparks flying and lit up her face, "I should know". Your face grew hot with her words, remembering what happened between you two just weeks prior. Isha gave a disgusted 'ew', before Jinx turned her head to watch the kid, a shadow of anger in her eyes. "No excuses! Come on, just go around a bit, become friends!".
"Jinx I, I don't think this is a wise idea. I mean, Isha is just a kid: what if something happens? I-" Jinx interrupted you, her voice almost lost between the screeching sounds of metal scraps flickering sparks between each other. "You'll both be fine. Isha is a smart kid, she'll get out of any situation. As for you..." she turned to you, a teasing glint in her eyes, "...will you be able to keep up with her?".
'No, not at all' you answer to her mental image, struggling to keep your pace behind Isha. The kid is fast inside these tunnels, and your body is not accustomed to their narrow spaces and to the flow of smoke and waste. The metal feels light and shaky under your weight, giving you the impression that at the slightest of pressure, you will sink beneath and break your ribs into the concrete of just another of Zaun's alleys. You steady on, carefully applying your weight where each border of the metal tubes meet, following the shadow of Isha.
After what feels like ages, you finally spot the end of a tunnel, light shining on the dirty buildings giving it a green hue. Isha crawls towards it, leaving you behind in the dusty tunnels, prompting you to follow her quickly. The kid has already jumped in the street below, adjusting her hat on, turning her back to you while she begins to walk away. You take in a deep breath, calculating the height of your jump, before falling messily on the concrete.
"Ack, shit" Isha gives you a dirty look, "What?". She just rolls her eyes, before continuing on, not waiting for you. The Undercity is just what you expected: crowds of people fill it's street, smoking and squaring you up; sellers shout to lure in buyers, presenting their merch of metal husks, hundreds of different flavours of tobacco and pieces of meat that you'd rather not know from what they came from. At the far corners, gang groups threaten and push against each other, their blades glinting with a malicious look. The streets are lit by bright neon signs, filled with all possible smells and gasses, overcrowded to the point that you're short of breath. Distantly, you can hear the sound of machinery evermoving, of water and air and of shipments departing from shore. The city itself beats and pumps, like a living heart.
Everything is suffocating; too loud, too much. And what's worse is, everyone knows that you don't belong. Their eyes are envious, angry, a dangerous hate barely hidden beneath their scleras. Hell, Isha, the kid who is known to have a kind heart, can barely hide it. For a moment, too caught up in your mind and it's worries, you miss Isha turning around, entering a dark hallway. You follow her blue locks until you're far from people, now only surrounded by high walls and some couples making out in a corner. On one wall there are signs of damage: claws and dents and what looks to be a... strange green goop staining the bricks, along with scraps of metal of an exoskeleton.
You find Isha sitting at the corner where the street opens, back against the wall. You are not too sure what she is doing: after all, she has proved to be rather uninterested in you. What you don't realize, not at first anyway, is that she had run through the crowd into the alley to lure you away from that noisy hell so you'd have time to get used to it. Sliding down next to her, your clothes drag down the dirt and dust of years behind them. Silence feels heavy above your head, the distant sounds of the crowd the only thing keeping you at least a bit sane.
Isha has found a pastime in rolling the hem of her hat on the ground, trying to make a perfect spin with it. The sounds of metal against concrete screech inside the hallway, attracting more than just one pair of eyes. You can feel Isha's reluctance to begin so close to you, probably thinking to herself that it was a mistake waiting for you. When the silence feels too heavy, then you finally speak. "Isha...listen" the hat spinning stops abruptly, it's hem catched between Isha's thumb and index finger. "I know you don't like me" she's surprised that you decided to face the problem right away; it's not something your people are known for. "You've made it all too clear these past days. I know you are wary of me; I know the Undercity is wary of us". The kid's eyes are now on you, studying, squaring you up, detecting any lies that you may hide under your sweet words.
"But... I am not my city. I know what you have been through and I am..." you falter for a moment, thinking that you're starting to sound a little too guilty and invested in this, and that she may recognize this as insincere. "What I meant to say is... I would like to be your friend, if you want to".
Isha doesn't answer you right away, but you see a small smile spread on her lips. You breathe a sigh of relief at successfully bringing down her walls.
She jumps back up, extending her hand to yours, palm open and a curious smile on her face. You take it, careful to not push your weight down on her before you too stand up.
"Come on, let's go home. This is good enough of a tour for me today", you take Isha's hand, ready to walk back to Jinx's, before something clutters inside the hallways, spreading its dull, hollow metal sound everywhere. The sound gets closer and closer, the item of its origin stopping its course at your feet. It's a cylinder shaped, stubby looking object; drawn on its surface are what you recognize to be Jinx's drawings, imitating a grinning gaping mouth of some evil creature. The red light you are so familiar with, the one which with Jinx blows her enemies to bits, is off.
"Well, look what we have here. The runt of that crazed bitch and Piltover's finest trash". From under the fuming tubes, a tall, scruffy looking man shows up. His hair is in a buzz cut style, thin muscles tightly attached to his bones, making him look starved and unkept. Black tattooed run over his forehead and cheeks, giving his sulken eyes even more of a crazed look. His goons all show up after him, exiting from their hidden spots. "What do you want?" you try to sound though, but the wavering of your voice only gives away your fears. Isha hides behind you, clutching tightly at the fabric of your pants.
"Oh we don't want anything from you. But you see..." he reaches to fish something out of his pants. You see it before he shows it: the hem of a knife. He slides the blade out of its sheath, glimmering dangerously in the dark. "...that darling bitch of yours took something from us. Well, to be honest, someone. Someone very dear to our group" you look in between you and Isha, then at the distance between you and the goons, trying to think of an escape.
"What do you mean? How do you know Jin-" he laughs creepily, a little too high for your tastes, echoing between the walls. "How do I know Jinx? Everyone knows Jinx!" he gesticulates with the knife still in his hand, dangerously close to hitting himself in the eye with it. He inspects the blade with something dark inside his thoughts, dulling the colour out of his eyes. With a creepy and disturbing smile on his lips, he runs his finger along the line, blood trickling down its shape. He seems to take a sick kind of pleasure from seeing red staining the metal. "I gotta give it to her though, she really aimed high: fucking someone from Piltover is something none of us would dirty ourselves trying to".
A vein under your skin pumps blood into your brain faster, giving you the prospect of an annoying headache, "Watch that tone-". "Never thought that that small, smart runt would become what she is today. Powder really outdid herself", you don't miss the cruel smirk which paints his lips, enjoying infecting your relationship with Jinx. "Powder?" the name doesn't ring a bell, and you're left with the man's ominous eyes peering into your heart, telling you that 'you don't know anything'.
"Oh look, trust runs so deep between you two that you don't even know her real name! Did you really think a parent could ever name their child 'Jinx'?" the rest of his group laughs and mocks you like their leader is, like a hoard of sheep follows their shepard. "I don't need to know her name. If there is a reason why Po- Jinx is keeping her real name a secret from me, I am not gonna pry it open from her" you can feel your heart pump blood faster into your veins, that small headache becoming stronger and stronger as anger takes hold of your actions. "Mhm? Just like she kept her family's deaths a secret?" those words feel heavy when he speaks them, clearly holding some truth behind them. You try to remain calm but anger and fear are affecting your judgment. "W-What? What the fuck are you talking about?" their ugly laughs fill your ears, only aiding in alimenting the fire at your heart. "After our little...fight, he changed. He started to hang out with the wrong people, doing the wrong things..." slowly, ever so slowly, all of them start to circle around you. One, two, four, six of them, sporting grinning smiles, stalking you like hyenas.
"But he would have been the same has always, even if he had become dumber than he was. He would have been alive too, at this moment, if Vander hadn't intervened". None of what this man is saying makes sense to you. He's talking to you, but his words are meant for others: for his friends, for Isha, for Jinx. You, once again, are reminded that you're not welcome here. In their eyes, hate and hunger swirl, creating a whirlwind that sucks away at your courage, "Just...what do you want from me?!".
"Jinx and that sister of hers took our friend from us. Our boss. Now-" with mastered precision, he makes the blade jump from his hands, now it's tip pointing towards the ground. Something that you can only describe as burning hatred and killing intent paints his features, before he screams a rallying cry, "It's our turn taking everything from her!".
That is enough for the whole lot of them to pounce. One moment, and they are all on you; punching, kicking, twisting your hair in their grasp, snarling and mocking. In the confusion you lose Isha, not being able to distinguish her blue locks in between all that green and grey. For a split second, after they consume their gloves on you, no one is holding you down. You take the occasion to slip away from their grasps, falling backwards into the opening street. You take a second to choose what to do, and as you run towards the crowd once again, following where you assume Isha went, a feeling of anger rises in your stomach. The sound of the busy street echoes, a distant reminder that you have a life to return to, but something tugs at your heart to look at them in the eyes. Blood pumps fast in your veins, alerting every muscle, every bone, every fiber that danger is near, you need to go, but your heart, brain, the pride you take in begin still alive overtakes your judgment. You stop to look at them, the prospect of a challenge in your eyes, of saying 'Look at me!' and incite them to follow 'I am still alive!'.
They look like ravenous beasts, hunched backs and gleaming eyes, angry snarls on their faces, hate coursing through their veins. The leader of the group, the scruffy looking one, fishes something from his back and places it on the bottom of his face: it's a mask, made with grey metal and sprayed with fake golden accents to give it a more classy look. On the side there's a circular opening with a single point in the centre. He takes a syringe and inserts it in the hole, pushing the top down and filling the hollow cavities of the mask with purple gasses. He takes in a deep breath, eyes rolling backwards, before his body goes through a strange change, twitching and moving like he had been shocked. When he looks back at you his eyes are a deep, neon pink, the same shade of colour that paints Jinx's eyes. He moves towards you, pushing and snarling at his friends like a dog with rabies, breaking their bones on the walls, before, with all the air in his lungs, screams, "I'm going to enjoy skinning that piltie's clean skin away from your body!".
You don't make it far before, with an uncanny precision, he throws his blade towards you like a spear, metal sinking inside of your left side, dangerously close to your kidney. A gasp leaves your body before you fall on the floor, blood oozing from the wound. Hundred of needles pierce at your flesh, blood paints the concrete and your mind fuses with the flesh of your brain. Then it all stops; you're back in the alley, cold spreading from the wound throughout your body, followed by a unbearable heat. The blade is snatched from your side, an ear shattering scream erupting from your throat. He is on top of you, already inching the knife to the base of your neck, planning to stab you there, wanting to see the life leaving your body in the most gruesome way possible. "I can't wait to see the look on your girlfriend when I am going to bring her the eyes of her most loved!".
"Bye bye, piltie" you brace yourself for your end; you can almost already feel the knife lodged in your throat, but nothing happens. You hear the sound of a metal hulk resonating in the hallway, before he is knocked down by something thrown with force against his face. You recognize it to be the exoskeleton of the arm you saw before, lying around. The rod which was the building foundation for its making has been thrown on the man's ugly bat-like nose, making him bleed red.
Isha stands behind you, still in launching position, before she runs over to you and tries to help you up. When you do, white behind your eyelids blinds you, pain making your head spin. He gets up again, an animalistic wild look in his eyes. He moves again, muscles hardened with purple veins running along them, drool falling down the space between the mask and his skin. Before he can assault you again, Isha throws something at him: the bomb he himself kicked before, the one Jinx had made, moves through the air, soon to be the second object to hit his ugly face today. He recognizes the object and pales when he sees a red light zipping faster and faster, its grinning mouth inching closer to him.
A colorful light shines on the walls, paint of blue and pink shades falling down like rain; sparks of fire following the natural course of an explosion, fading out of existence a moment later. You run with Isha, hand in hand, away from this horrid place. This time, you don't look back.
A trickle of sweat falls down Jinx's temple while her eyes are focused on connecting two tubes of plastic together. Electricity flows through them, sending sparks flying dangerously close to her skin, before they are connected by the metal snaps on each of their ends. Jinx smiles as her creation takes its first movements, loudly clapping two copper coloured, round, small discs together, before stopping once again. Her fingers twist the key positioned on its back and the mechanic monkey comes to life once again. When her work is finally done, she puts it next to the other one she made hours prior.
The one meant for Isha is coloured with golden accents and decorated with graffitis all over. When turned on, it quickly smashes the plates against each other and plays an off-tune punk song if the button on its right leg is pushed; its eyes are golden, mimicking Isha's own. The one meant for you is far softer than the first: soft shades of pastel mix together with Jinx's characteristic pink, swirling your colours together. Instead of plates, it has a small, roughly knitted red heart in its hands. The left eye shines bright pink, while the other mirror's yours. There are no graffiti on it, except for a small heart on its chest, one near 'your' eye and a 'Jinx' on its left side.
She can't wait to see the look on your eyes when you will see it. She could never quite well express affection like other people do, so giving you gifts was what she did best. Just as she dreams of your face, she hears quick, loud steps coming closer and closer to her. "If you are Caitlyin, I appreciate your obsession with me, but I am in the middle of-" she recognizes Isha's laboured breaths and your pained groans before she can finish the phrase. And when she turns around, her face pales and her blood freezes. Isha has a panicked look to her face, one that she had never seen before; and you? Sweat falls with heavy tears down your face, the shade of your skin so much paler than it usually is, making you look almost dead. Your hand is tightly clutched on your side, where your hand is stained with...blood?
In a fraction of a second, Jinx is on you, hands checking at every curve of your body, focusing on places you might be hurt, while she asks question upon question, filling the air with a sense of urgency. You can only describe the look in her eyes as pure dread. If you didn't groan with pain every few seconds, you'd think Jinx was the one to have gotten hurt. The next few minutes are a whirlpool of movements and colours, making you spill your lunch on the floor. Soft fabric meets your back, suddenly naked with only your bra to cover your chest. Blood oozes faster out of you and you can feel your conscience leaving. Nothing else besides the red on your skin and the blurred shades of blue and brown exists for you.
"...ont worry, I al... got m... sis...er out of ...ble". When after wetting your wound with water, Jinx presses gauze on your body, you are suddenly brought back to life, violently. It feels like someone is crushing with all their might on you, despite Jinx applying the right pressure to the wound. If someone were to walk in right now hearing your screams, they'd think you were begin murdered. After what finally feels like an eternity, you are lying again on her bed, almost lifelessly. You don't have time to answer Jinx's questions, before you fall into a deep slumber.
Half an hour passes by, and the world seems sealed in a bubble of silence. Nothing moves. nothing makes noise, nothing happens. The only thing that does make noise are the voices in Jinx's head, screaming loudly at her for having let you go alone. 'You should have been there', 'See what happens when you let people into your life?', 'She is hurt. She might die. It's your fault'.
Their loud screams are enough to make one go crazy, but despite how confused she is, Jinx finds a will in herself to speak, to silence them. With her hand, she nudges Isha, getting her attention, and mouths "What happened?".
Isha doesn't answer. Her eyes burn holes into the metal of the helix, bottom lip tightly sealed under her teeth, before something in her breaks. She rushes in Jinx's arms, hiding herself into her chest, crying until the tears are gone and her throat is raw. They stay together, tangled into one another, for a while, until their bodies are cold. "Isha, what happened?" Jinx repeats.
Isha gets up, running over Jinx's desk and returns with two different coloured pencils. On the ground she draws a scene: you and her, hand in hand, with frowning faces; behind you six grinning figures, one taller than the rest. Green splattered on the ground and high walls. Jinx recognizes this place immediatley; she's been there just a couple of weeks prior.
Walking to her desk, she grabs her trusted gun and more than a dozen of bullets. A deep, hateful scowl paints her features, eyes shining brighter than usual.
Tonight, the undercity shines and roars with fervor. Its lights shine bright and the shouts of its inhabitants brings it to life, beating strong, like the heart of a dragon. The city seems to sway in tandem with Jinx's white cape, almost bending to her will but also shielding her, hiding her in its crowds. This is home. This is all Jinx has ever known and ever will. She knows it's streets like the palm of her hand: where to leave her mark, the highest places she can reach from which she can put a bullet in between her enemies eyes, which vents and tunnels will take her back home.
She knows exactly where you had been hurt, and if her predictions are correct, they're waiting for her there. And she's gonna give them what they want. The allway is far too serene to be one of the city's main ways out to the perimeter where steel factories and shipments are. It's uncharacteristically quiet, and by Zaun's rules, that means danger.
Jinx steps on the green gooey substance, observing the dripping of your blood leading to the city's main street, and anger boils inside her at that view. The square is empty, except for a series of tubes and a pitfall to its left. Just as she thought, she begins to hear steps coming into her direction. They had been expecting her.
"If you weren't trying, and failing, to ambush me, I'd say you have a crush" the man behind her simply scoffs, his breath coming out ragged and metallic from under his mask.
Jinx turns around to see a tall man, breathing through what she recognizes to be a mask that henchmens of shady organizations wore to enhance their physical abilities. After a moment, she recognizes blood staining the man's pale skin, half of his left hand blown off, rudimental replaced with a metal prosthesis at the last minute. She can ignore that just fine, but the exposed muscle of his left cheek makes her want to puke. "Wow, and you're even more grotesque than I thought" a cruel anger swirls inside her eyes, her lips curling up in a snarl. "What? Were you so anxious to try to kill me that you couldn't even let your wounds heal?" he laughs at her words, men closing in on her much like they did hours prior to you.
"We were waiting for you, Powder" the mention of that name pangs at her heart. Subtly, she touches the top of her gun, ready to draw it at the first sign of danger. "I figured. How do you know my name?" "A man can know much...if he is in the right place, at the right time" he falls silent when Jinx laughs at his words, anger making a vein in his head pop. "Damn. I thought you were pathetic already, but this whole 'supervillain' talk only makes you seem more of an ass than you already are" much like Jinx, he grabs the death of his knife. At the sign, his men form a half circle around the blue haired criminal, directly closing the only way out. "You won't talk all that shit after I sink my blade in your throat" she can't help but feel compassion for these poor bastards. Faintly, she can already feel their blood falling on her skin while putting bullets between their eyes. "I would like to see you try" she changes her body stance, right side facing them while she takes out her gun with her left hand, making a show of placing the bullets in. Unlike what she thought, they do not follow her; instead, the leader seems relaxed as ever. His dark eyes reflect hers and for a second Jinx can see a dangerous, maniacal glint in them and a cruel grin on his lips.
"Oh I did try, and succeeded, with your little piltie bitch-girlfriend" her breathing stops, heart missing a beat, and time seems to stop for a moment, before it all starts to spin again, faster and faster as she gets angrier and angrier. "You should have heard her screams. The sweetest I've ever heard" she imagines you, clutching at your side, tears in your eyes and spit falling off your mouth; begging for him to leave you alone, to let you go. His features are lost under a black veil and painted over with a red open mouthed smile and tight eyes, not unlike the monsters that she has to fight with every night, as he raises the crimson blade and-.
"Don't you fucking dare" her throath feels raw when she speaks, almost as if she's spewing pure black hatred with each word. "Or what? What are you going to do?" 'He thinks he's the shit, huh?', she thinks, loading the storage to the brim and finally raising the barrel of her gun to aim on his forehead. "I am going to enjoy blowing your brains out"
'No one hurts the people I love'.
The next few seconds are a blur of colours and movement. Her body moves before her mind can understand what is going on. She ducks under something coming at her, kicking at the figure and sending them flying a few feet away from her. Someone pulls at her braids and she yelps, momentarily confused; in a fraction of a second, she blows their hand off, crouching and punching in the face a second figure. The blood on the ground, spilling from the screaming man gives everything a shape again and she's back to the alley. Three men are down, two unconscious and one debilitated. The remaining ones look at her up and down, before the leader nudges them, kicking their shins.
One of them takes a metal rod from his side and swings wildly at Jinx, paying no attention to where he hits. She dodges him with no effort and when he stops momentarily to rest his arm, she knocks his weapon from his hands and hits him in the neck with it, white replacing the colour of his eyes. The other, after seeing the bodies of who used to be his companions, runs away, leaving his leader behind; but before he can make it far, a bullet runs fast through his chest and he falls to the floor, lifeless.
He is the last one standing. "Heh, you call yourself a leader, but you couldn't even save your men". His teeth grind harshly against each other, sending jolts of pain through his mouth, "Shut the fuck up".
But Jinx doesn't. No, she's going to enjoy torturing the life out of this fucker like he did to you. "You didn't even lift a finger. I didn't know Zaun could have such a coward walking through its streets".
He finally snaps, spit flowing out of his mouth as he screams, staining the mask inside "I said shut up!". He breathes in the chemical Jinx is so familiar with, huffing purple clouds out of the mask with a metallic sound. Once again, he feels the rush of the substance in his lungs, blood circling small purple bubbles throughout the body, strengthening his muscles and blanking his mind. But this time, his body starts to twitch and shake, slipping out of his control.
The heart beats faster, the lungs lose their air and move erratically, blood flows freely through his body and bones morph, stretching and breaking and strengthening. His muscles cannot be sustained by the bones anymore, and he falls to the floor. The space inside his ribcage feels tighter, his lungs can only provide so much until finally, his body stops changing and he can stand up, much taller than Jinx now.
The blue haired criminal looks incredibly unimpressed with her opponent's new shape, her eyes studying his moments and planning the next few seconds. That grotesque creature lunges, pushing his whole weight on the top of his body, falling messily when Jinx dodges him. She ducks under a clawed swing, rolling through the space between his legs; then, while he is confused and looking for her, aims at his neck.
The bullet lodges itself into the skin, remaining snugly fit between flesh. The scream that leaves him could have woken up the dead. His nails dig into his neck, trying desperately to yank the bullet out, but to no avail. He turns and turns, like a cat chasing its tail, before dizziness gets to him and he falls to the floor, spilling saliva all over the concrete. When he looks around once again, he is face to face with Jinx's gun, staring at the black hole of the barrel. "You made a mistake crossing me, today. Let this be a lesson" she tilts the gun until it's flat against his forehead. He is not capable of forming words anymore, they die at the base of his throath, leaving only emptiness behind. For a moment, she can see in his eyes something that resembled her, many years ago: a scared animal, one that does not understand what their fate will be. But when her mind reminds her of how viciously he attacked you, and how you are lying in her bed, with no assurance that you'll wake up, anger bubbles once again behind her eyes, clouding her thoughts.
"I'm sorry" is all that he hears, before his body falls to the floor, life leaving his eyes.
Her heart feels cold, as well as her body and mind. Jinx, in her own kind of weird way, is already trying to make peace with the fact that, once she comes back home, you might be gone. All too often in her life she had to come to terms with the death of her loved ones, and all too often, she was directly involved with their demise. She can already picture it: you on the bed, blood staining your clothes and the mattress, Isha on her knees, crying her heart out. She, coming home, seeing your dead body lying on what used to be your little shared creek, shielded by the world, falling to her knees and her heart finally giving out to pain, soon to follow you.
From the crack inside the wall, she can spot the helix of her home, the one she'll soon walk over to reach you. She tries to move, but to no avail: her body doesn't let her. Her muscles are reduced to mush, her legs feel like lead and her heart heaves on her rib cage so much that she had to bend down, clutching at her chest to try and ignore that pain. She could stay here forever, stalling time to this single minute, winding it back over and over and over again, all for the purpose of pretending she's still with you, back in your apartment in Piltover, laying naked on the bed with serene smiles on your faces.
But she can't. Even if she could stop time, right here and now, what could she do? Nothing would change. You'd still be dead, she'd still be heartbroken, the bed would still be cold on your side.
She slips inside the crevice, body molding to its shape, before she is face to face with the entrance to her home. She's so lost in her dread and fear that, for a moment, she doesn't hear the sound of laughter from the inside. When her mind recognized the sound, the pitch of the voice she so longed to hear, tears prickled at her eyes and hope filled her heart. She rushes towards the sound, almost tripping down the helix and falling to her death.
There you are. Laying on the bed, laughing weakly as Isha gesticulates and shouts loudly, imitating some sort of monster. Every little light inside her home has been placed near you, probably by Isha, and lifts your figure with a myriad of colorful shades. You look like a living painting to her.
You can't even process seeing her when she's already on you, touching you everywhere, checking your pulse, grabbing onto your legs to assure herself, to make sure that you...
"Are you... really alive?". You could crumble right here and now under those tearful eyes of hers, so soft and beautiful, looking almost powder blue. You stretch your arms to reach down to her, hugging her close to you; "I am, I am". Jinx takes a moment to process your hug and your words; and when she does, when she's certain that you are alive, that you are okay, her walls crumble away.
She pulls you down towards her, wanting to reciprocate the hug, but impatience gets the better of her and instead pulls herself on the bed, halfway reaching you. Her head rests on your belly, tears staining your clothes when she feels your hand on her back. "I thought-! I thought you-" her words die in her throath when she feels your fingers cupping at her cheek, pulling her to rest on her knees and look into your eyes. "I know, I know. I am okay".
Tears fall freely down her cheeks once again, her bottom lip wavering before she takes refuge in your body, hiding her tears on your lap. "I am so glad! I am so glad...".
Once her tears dry, she pushes herself to look at you, eyes puffy and red. "You are okay" she says, and you're about to assure her once again, but something tells you that she's really talking to herself. She climbs on the bed with you, quickly resting her head on your chest. You can't help but smile at her, ready to cuddle together when you realize you've let someone out of the picture. Isha looks at you both with those big eyes of her, pouting. She knows exactly how to push your buttons.
"Come on kid, get in" come Jinx's words, quickly followed by Isha tangling herself in between your bodies and closing her eyes, sleep already overtaking her. "Man, she sure takes a lot of space" you chuckle, placing your hand on Isha's head and stroking her locks between your fingers, hearing a small contented sigh from her. "Yeah, but she deserves it". A heavy silence fills the space, one that you usually pair up with tranquillity, but who you quickly realize is loud for your lover. "Jinx... I am okay" stopping them from screaming in her ears is hard, but when you are with her, they vanish off of existence. Your voice brings her back to reality, as well as reminding her that you have gotten hurt. Letting herself relax after the storm is something she's not used to. "I know" but she can try.
Starting this conversation will be a pain, you think to yourself, but you need to tell her.
"...He told me your real name, Jinx. And, what you did". Quick snapping sounds, mixed with hushed voices and distant screams fill her head in a second, getting louder by the second. She doesn't find in herself the strength to answer, too tired from the day's events; but nevertheless, listens. She leans on the bed, eyes dark and attentive. The scent of your skin fills her nose and she braces herself for your next words. "But...I don't care".
What?
"I don't know what you've been through, but... I don't need to know. You will tell me if you want to". It all stops. Every sound, every shout or whisper, every heartbeat or pulse of electricity. It seems, for a moment, that all becomes white and quiet, before the world starts to spin again. You feel her strong fingers push you more towards her, one cold hand under your clothes, right where your wound is. "Thank you toots, that means a lot".
Less than twenty seconds of silence later, she's already pestering you with her worries again, "Does it hurt? Do I need to give you som-" you interrupt her, taking her hand in yours. Normally, you would be a little annoyed by her continuous train of words, but she needs to be reassured. She needs to hear it from you, how many times it takes. "I am okay. I just need you here with me".
That seems enough to let her finally bear down her worries and she quickly rests on the bed, eyelids heavy and a yawn in her throath. "...I made you a monkey...gift" she slurrs over her words, already slipping in and out of conciousness. "Oh really?". "Yeah...". You too are about to follow her shortly, and before you let sleep overtake you, you reach behind and place a kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight Jinx" she smiles, catching your lips in a quick peck and pushing her nose in the crevice of your shoulders; "Goodnight toots".
Bonus ----------------
When Sevika came home that night, after her usual gambling and drinking out in Zaun's bar, she certainly did not expect to find the messily tangled body of limbs that were you, Jinx and Isha.
As quietly as she possibly can, she takes the chair Jinx sits on while doing her evil scientist machineries and sits next to your bed. Placing a cigar in between your lips and lights it, blowing the smoke away in the opposite direction. She looks back at the bed, multiple coloured lights shading your peacefully sleeping figures. She stays silent for a moment, before she crouches on her knees and shakes the tip of the cigar, firing crumbling pieces of tobacco down on the floor. "They do look pretty cute".

Lab partner!Hange who gets genuinely ecstatic by successful experiments. Their eyes light up with an intensity that makes your stomach flip as they lean over your shoulder, their breath hot against your ear while explaining molecular structures.
Lab partner!Hange who has ink-stained fingers from frantically scribbling notes, and you find yourself staring at their hands more often than you should, wondering what those fingers would feel like trailing across your skin.
Lab partner!Hange who pushes their glasses up their nose with the back of their hand, leaving smudges that you have an inexplicable urge to clean off with your thumb, your faces inches apart.
Lab partner!Hange who always smells like pine and something vaguely, uniquely them, a scent that becomes intoxicating when they crowd into your personal space to check your measurements. The way their body seems to naturally radiate warmth doesn’t help. At all.
Lab partner!Hange who gets so adorably excited about breakthroughs that they grab your hands without thinking, their touch electric as they bounce on their toes, eyes sparkling with manic joy.
Lab partner!Hange who stays late in the lab with you, the room growing dim as they lean against your workbench, watching you with an unreadable expression that makes heat pool in your stomach.
Lab partner!Hange who absent-mindedly chews on their pen while thinking, drawing your attention to their lips in a way that makes you lose focus while balancing equations.
Lab partner!Hange who has a habit of rolling up their sleeves when concentrating, revealing surprisingly toned forearms that distract you more than any difficult formula ever could.
Lab partner!Hange who notices when you're struggling and moves behind you to guide your hands, their chest pressed against your back as they murmur instructions, their voice dropping to a husky whisper.
Lab partner!Hange who starts bringing you coffee in the mornings, skin lingering against yours during the handoff, their gaze drinking you in with an eagerness that makes you forget how to breathe.
Lab partner!Hange who gets protective when other students boisterously interrupt your work, stepping closer until you can feel the possessiveness of their presence, both comforting and dangerous.
Lab partner!Hange who catches you staring at their mouth while they explain complex theories and pauses mid-sentence, their eyes darkening as tension crackles between you like static electricity.
Lab partner!Hange who starts finding excuses to touch you—steadying your hand while pipetting, brushing past you in the narrow lab aisles, their touch lingering just long enough to make your pulse skyrocket.
Lab partner!Hange who begins texting you late at night during the mid-semester break about "lab questions" that somehow turn into long conversations that leave you lying in bed, wondering if they miss you too.
Lab partner!Hange who wears their hair in a messy bun that makes you want to pull it loose, especially when they tilt their head and expose the elegant line of their neck while concentrating.
Lab partner!Hange who starts unconsciously mirroring your movements, both of you reaching for the same equipment and freezing when your bodies brush, the air thick with unspoken tension.
Lab partner!Hange who looks at you over their glasses with an expression that's equal parts scientific curiosity and something much more tantalising, making you feel like their most fascinating experiment.
Lab partner!Hange who gets flustered when you compliment their intelligence, cheeks flushing as they fidget with their lab coat, suddenly unable to look at you.
Lab partner!Hange who finally snaps during a late evening lab session, grabbing your wrist when you reach for a beaker and pulling you against them, their other hand tangling in your hair as they kiss you desperately against the bench, months of yearning finally exploding between you.
Lab partner!Hange who breaks the kiss just long enough to breathe, "I've been wanting to do that since our first titration," before claiming your mouth again, their hands roaming as you forget everything except the way they say your name like a prayer.
Lab partner!Hange who shows up the next day with a lopsided grin, acting like they didn't just have you screaming against their dorm room wall the previous night, casually asking, "So, want to grab dinner? Like, an actual date?" with mischievous eyes and the burning memory of exactly how you taste.

OFFICE HOURS ! ! ! ✎ ⋆⑅˚₊
Nanami Kento x FTM Reader
Nanami Kento does not believe in distractions. Not in lecture halls, not in recitations, and certainly not in the quiet, infuriatingly persistent presence of a grad student who isn’t even assigned to his section. But then you start showing up to his TA hours with smart questions, sharper eyes, somehow the walls around his heart start shifting. Slowly. Quietly. Irreversibly. A/N: Prequel to Zoom Class
────୨ৎ────────୨ৎ──────
The library was a sanctuary for Nanami, the one place where silence wasn’t just preferred—it was sacred. But today, the usual peace felt fractured. The hum of whispered conversations, the rustle of pages, and the occasional clatter of a laptop keyboard grated on his nerves. He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and glanced at his watch: twenty-three minutes before his office hours would be over. No one had come in yet. Good. That meant he could grade in peace.
Then the door creaked open, drawing his attention.
You stepped inside, shoulders tense beneath your backpack, a stack of nursing textbooks precariously balanced in your arms. You glanced around, locking eyes with him, and took a hesitant step forward.
“I’m not technically in your section,” you began, voice steady but with an undercurrent of uncertainty, “but the TA for mine bailed again. Do you mind if I stay and ask a few questions?”
Nanami’s initial response was a frown, mild irritation brewing. He wasn’t here for distractions. But something about the way you carried yourself — the blend of exhaustion and determination, the way your eyes searched his, almost pleading — made him pause. He nodded once, sharp and decisive. “As long as you have something worth discussing.”
You breathed out a small sigh of relief and settled in across from him. “I’m working on a paper about economic barriers in long-term care for trans patients,” you said, pulling out a battered draft with notes scribbled in the margins. “It’s part of my health systems analysis class.”
Nanami’s pen hovered over his papers, then slowly set down. He leaned forward, genuinely interested. “That’s… not a common topic.”
“Yeah,” you admitted, voice quieter now. “Most people don’t want to talk about it. Or they don’t understand.”
“It’s about economic barriers in healthcare access for trans patients. I’m stuck on finding good sources for this section.”
Nanami lifted an eyebrow but didn’t interrupt. He was used to students fumbling with topics like supply chains or fiscal policy—not something so... personal.
You set your notebook down, showing him the messy outline. “I know it’s a bit niche. Most people don’t want to deal with it.”
For a long moment, Nanami just studied you, his eyes sharp and unreadable.
“Well,” he said finally, voice flat but not unkind, “You’ve picked a topic that actually matters. That’s a start.”
“Very well,” he said. “Show me your outline.”
You set your notebook on the desk, flipping it open to pages filled with scrawled notes, articles bookmarked, and your own careful observations. Nanami’s eyes scanned the page, his brow furrowing slightly in thought.
“You’ve done thorough research,” he remarked. “But your analysis could benefit from a deeper dive into provider-side economic incentives. How might hospitals’ reimbursement policies discourage inclusive care?”
You leaned in, intrigued. “That’s a good point. I hadn’t thought much about the provider’s perspective in terms of economic motivation.”
Nanami tapped a pen thoughtfully. “And if you include that, you’ll have a stronger argument for policy reform that incentivizes equitable care.”
As you discussed sources, your paper, and ideas for improvement, the initial awkwardness between you slowly melted into a shared passion for the topic.
At one point, Nanami looked up sharply and asked, “May I ask—how have your personal experiences informed your academic interests?”
You hesitated, then decided to be open. “Being trans, I’ve faced a lot of obstacles—finding providers who understand me, navigating insurance that doesn’t cover everything. It’s frustrating. I want to change that, not just for me but for others.”
Nanami regarded you quietly for a moment. “That kind of drive is rare. It will serve you well.”
Your chest swelled with a mix of pride and nervousness. “Thank you,” you said softly.
The clock on the wall ticked steadily as the conversation drifted naturally from academic to personal—just slightly, enough to make your heart beat faster.
When the hour was almost up, Nanami closed your notebook gently.
“I think we’ll continue this next week,” he said, his tone unreadable. “There’s more to explore, and you have the potential to produce something meaningful.”
You smiled, feeling warmth spread through you. “Thanks, Professor Nanami. I’ll see you next week.”
As you gathered your things and headed for the door, you caught a brief glance—something almost like approval—in his eyes.
You stepped out, the fading sun casting long shadows, but your mind was already racing ahead. This paper wasn’t just an assignment anymore. It was the beginning of something important—and maybe, just maybe, the beginning of a connection you hadn’t expected.
-
The building was nearly silent.
It always was during finals week—no more overheard debates in the hallway, no more undergrads groaning over midterms or darting between classes. Just the hush of endings, the quiet pulse of everyone counting down to freedom.
You didn’t plan to come. You’d told yourself you were done—that submitting your final essay meant closing this chapter for good.
But your feet brought you here anyway.
Nanami’s door was cracked open slightly, warm lamplight spilling onto the tile. He sat behind his desk, sleeves rolled to his elbows, eyes scanning a paper with his usual sharp focus. Even now, he looked like he was holding the whole world together by sheer will. You knocked gently.
His head lifted. A flicker of surprise crossed his face before he smoothed it out.
“You’re not on my list today,” he said.
“No,” you replied, stepping into the doorway. “I’m not.”
There was a long pause—one of those silences that felt like standing at the edge of something.
“I just… I wanted to say thank you,” you said, voice quieter than you intended. “For the way you take me seriously. Even when you didn’t have to.”
Nanami set down his pen slowly.
“I take you seriously because you deserved it,” he said. “You worked harder than most of the students I’ve had this semester.”
Your throat tightened, the weight of everything unsaid pressing against your ribs. How scared you’d been, walking into his office that first day. How hard it had been to speak confidently about healthcare policy, about trans representation, about the world you hoped to shape with a voice no one had always listened to.
But he had.
He always had.
-
It was raining again.
Not the kind of cinematic downpour that made people run for cover, but the slow, persistent drizzle that seeped into everything. The windows of the TA office fogged slightly at the corners, and Nanami glanced up briefly to check the time.
4:42 p.m. You were late.
Not that he cared. Not that he was waiting. And yet, when the door creaked open and you slipped in—hood half-soaked, cheeks flushed from the cold—Nanami felt something loosen in his chest.
“Sorry,” you said, dropping your bag with a sigh. “Campus WiFi crashed and I couldn’t download the article for today.”
You shook out your hoodie like a half-drowned cat and gave a sheepish smile.
“I brought a hard copy, though,” you added, holding up the marked-up paper. “Hope that’s okay.”
Nanami blinked. “That’s… more than okay.”
You always did that. Put effort into things others brushed off. Highlighted your readings in multiple colors, left margin notes with questions that made Nanami stop mid-sentence. You were never performative about it, but your passion burned quietly through everything you touched.
He cleared his throat and gestured to the chair. “Let’s begin.”
The conversation was fluid as always—easy, even when it challenged him. You had strong opinions, and you weren’t afraid to speak them. But more than that, you listened. You asked things. You questioned the structures without dismissing them outright.
“…And I just think that trans patients need more than policy,” you were saying now, fingers tapping lightly against your knee. “They need providers who see them as full people. You can write all the coverage guarantees you want, but if no one will treat you without bias, what’s the point?”
He should have responded—should have prompted a counter-argument, or nudged the conversation back toward the week’s readings.
But he didn’t. He just… watched you. The way your brow furrowed. The way your voice caught slightly when you said full people, like you knew what it meant to not be seen that way.
And in that moment—he knew. He was already falling.
It was subtle, like the rain outside. Slow and steady. So quiet he hadn’t noticed it soaking through until he was drenched.
It wasn’t just your intelligence. It wasn’t just your warmth. It was the way you made the world sharper, more urgent. How you reminded him that ideas meant something, that behind every theory was a life, a body, a history worth protecting.
He didn’t say anything, not then. But you must’ve noticed the shift in his gaze, the way he looked at you with something new behind his eyes.
You tilted your head. “Did I lose you?”
“No,” he said quietly. “You just… make very good points.”
You gave a small laugh. “Don’t sound too surprised.”
And Nanami, usually so reserved, let himself smile. Just a little. “I’m not,” he said. “Not anymore.”
When you left that day, your umbrella flipping inside out in the wind, he watched you from the window longer than he meant to.
It would take him weeks to admit it to himself fully, longer still to allow anything to come of it.
But it had started. And some part of him knew this wasn’t going away.
-
Nanami wasn’t one to indulge in distractions. His days were tightly structured—early mornings, dissertation work, teaching prep, office hours, and the occasional faculty seminar if Gojo hadn’t managed to derail them. He never missed deadlines. He never chased anything uncertain.
Which was why, as he sat in the dimly lit back corner of the graduate student lounge, staring at the class roster spreadsheet on his laptop, he told himself this wasn’t indulgent. It was… information gathering.
He scrolled slowly until he found your name: Y/L/N, Y/N. Final year, Master of Public Health. Concentration: Health Policy and Equity. Pronouns noted, a small "he/him" nestled in the corner of your profile. There was something about seeing it formally listed there, typed with such certainty, that made something in Nanami settle. You had mentioned being a trans man before—but seeing it acknowledged in university systems? It mattered.
Your TA was listed just below: Kiyomi Takano. Nanami recognized the name. She was sharp. Ran her recitations with clarity and rigor. Not prone to embellishment or idle chatter. Still, Nanami closed his laptop and rose, smoothing his sleeves as if he wasn’t about to do something deeply out of character.
He found Takano in the TA lounge, a half-empty instant ramen bowl perched beside her notes. She looked up at him with a raised brow.
“Kento. Didn’t expect to see you here after four,” she said, amused. “Did Gojo finally trick you into a group hang?”
“No,” Nanami replied flatly. “I had a question. About a student in your recitation.”
Her brows lifted further, curiosity sharpening. “Sure. What kind of question?”
“I… just wanted to know how Y/N Y/L/N has been doing this term.”
Kiyomi blinked. “Y/N?” He kept his face neutral. "Yes."
There was a beat. Then she tilted her head and gave him a look so knowing it made him want to backtrack immediately.
But she didn’t say anything about it. Just hummed thoughtfully. “He’s smart,” she said after a moment. “Good instincts. Passionate. I can tell he thinks deeply about things—not just what’s required on the syllabus, but the bigger picture. He’s always connecting the readings back to care systems and lived experience.”
Nanami nodded once, something tight in his chest loosening. That tracked.
“He’s a bit shy when he speaks up,” she added, glancing at him. “But when he does, the room listens. He talks about healthcare like it matters to him personally. Not in a dramatic way. Just… grounded. Honest.”
Nanami felt his throat tighten slightly. “Thank you,” he said, perhaps too quickly.
Kiyomi arched a brow. “He’s not in your section, is he?”
“No,” Nanami admitted. “He came to my office hours once. I think it was the week you were out.”
“Ah,” she said, clearly not believing that was the whole story. Then, as if deciding to offer a bone, “He mentioned you in passing once. Said your lectures were hard to follow at first, but he liked that you didn’t talk down to students.”
That startled something like a smile from Nanami. Kiyomi narrowed her eyes at him, then smiled a little herself. “If you’re thinking of asking him to join your research or something—he’d probably say yes. But maybe don’t make it weird.”
“I don’t intend to,” Nanami said, already feeling foolish for coming. As he turned to go, she called out lightly, “He’s a good one, Kento. If this isn’t about research, you could do worse.”
Nanami didn’t turn around. Just raised a hand in acknowledgement and kept walking. But later, alone in his apartment, he’d remember her words. And think—no, I couldn’t do better. He hadn’t meant to care.
But somewhere between your careful notes and quiet laughter, the way you always spoke with conviction, and the softness in your eyes when you talked about care—real care—he’d stopped just being curious.
And started falling.
-
The university building was hushed in the way only end-of-semester nights could be—buzzing fluorescents overhead, the soft shuffle of someone printing last-minute papers in the distance, and that thick quiet of everyone being too tired to pretend anymore.
You sat hunched on one side of the small table, fingers nervously fidgeting against your pencil. Your thesis draft was spread between you and Nanami, pages annotated with neat, controlled handwriting in black ink.
Across from you, Nanami adjusted his glasses, eyes scanning one of your longer paragraphs. His brow furrowed—focused, not displeased—and your heart picked up in your chest.
You didn’t even know why you were nervous.
Actually, no—you did.
You liked him.
God, you liked him.
And he’d agreed to read your thesis.
“It’s strong,” he said after a moment, setting his pen down with a quiet click. “You have a clear voice. The way you connect healthcare policy to trans-specific outcomes without making it about trauma alone… it’s necessary work. And you articulate it with restraint. That’s rare.”
You blinked, throat tightening. “You really think so?”
Nanami looked up, and there was something softer in his gaze now. “I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t.”
A breath escaped your lungs you hadn’t realized you were holding. Nanami leaned back slightly, one hand resting on the table’s edge. “What brought you to this topic? If you don’t mind sharing.”
You hesitated, then shrugged, eyes fixed on the annotations. “I think… when you grow up constantly having to advocate for yourself in medical spaces, you start to notice all the cracks in the system. And the older I got, the more I realized not everyone wants to see those cracks.”
Nanami’s expression didn’t change, but his attention was absolute. You felt it settle over you like something grounding.
“I figured if I could get through school,” you continued, “maybe I could help patch some of them. Make it less exhausting for the next trans kid sitting in a cold clinic trying to explain why his name doesn’t match the form.” Silence for a beat.
Then, “You shouldn’t have had to explain at all.”
You looked up. Nanami’s voice was low, steady. “Care shouldn’t come with conditions.”
Your chest ached a little. In the quiet of that moment, you remembered something Kiyomi once said—that Nanami’s stoicism wasn’t distance, it was deliberateness. He weighed everything before he spoke. And when he finally did, he meant it.
“What about you?” you asked gently. Nanami had just finished scribbling a small note in the margin of your thesis draft when you tilted your head, watching him.
“Why economics?” you asked. “You don’t… seem like someone who’d be obsessed with market trends.”
There was the faintest twitch of his lips. Not quite a smile, but close. “I’m not,” he admitted. “At least, not the way most people in the department are.”
You leaned forward a bit, interested. “So why the PhD?”
Nanami sat back, folding his arms loosely. His voice was low and even. “I wanted to understand how systems shape people’s lives—how policies look clean on paper but destroy people in practice. Economic policy affects everything: wages, healthcare access, housing, even the way disaster relief is distributed. I figured… if I could make sense of the architecture, I could learn where to break it. Or rebuild it.”
Your eyebrows lifted slightly. “That’s… not the answer I was expecting.”
“What were you expecting?”
You shrugged. “Something about liking numbers.”
Nanami scoffed under his breath, glancing down at your paper again. “Numbers are fine. But people twist them too easily.”
You hesitated, then asked, “Do you like teaching?”There was a pause.
“It’s part of the funding package,” he said, tone deliberately neutral. “I’m required to TA one policy class per year.”
“But… you’re good at it.”
“That doesn’t mean I like it.”
You gave him a look. “…But,” he added, slower this time, “I don’t mind it when the students actually care.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Do I count?” His gaze met yours.
“You showed up to someone else’s TA session to ask real questions. You stayed late. You rewrote your thesis section after I gave you hell about it.” He paused, then added, “You’re not just doing this to check a box.”
You looked down, a little bashful, the praise hitting more deeply than you expected.
“I guess we both care about fixing broken systems,” you murmured.
Nanami was quiet for a moment. Then, softly, “I think that’s what made me notice you.”
You blinked. He realized what he’d said, eyes flicking to yours again measured, but not withdrawing. You held his gaze. “Yeah. Me too.”
He paused again, then nodded toward your thesis draft. “There are a few grammatical things I marked, but… if you want, I’d be happy to read the final version before submission.”
Your pulse skipped. “You’d do that?”
He nodded. “Of course.”
There was something in the way he said it, simple and sincere. Not as a favor. But because he wanted to. Because he cared.
You hesitated for a second, then, “Nanami?”
He looked up.
“After the semester’s over… do you wanna get a coffee? Like…not for thesis review. Just. You know.”
Something flickered in his eyes, and then, “I’d like that,” he said quietly. “Very much.”

MASTERLIST (nfl!rafe x dcc!reader au masterlist)

The "no touch" policy was quite simple: fans were not allowed to touch the cheerleaders. Footballs were brought to every stand and pose event. This gave fans something to hold during photos, making the interaction less awkward and minimising any potential for psychical contact.
Not everyone knew the rule, though, and some would instinctively try to put their arms around the cheerleaders for a photo. Thankfully, security was always on hand, watching and ready to step in, instructing fans to keep their distance.
Over the three years you've been a dcc, you’ve never had a bad experience with this policy. It’s become second nature, and you trust the system. So when you and a few of the other girls arrive at the event, where fans will be meeting you and taking photos, you think little of it.
The familiar buzz of excitement fills the room, and as you scan the crowd, your eyes land on Rafe. He’s on the other side of the room, already engaged in conversation with a fan. A small smile tugs at your lips as you take in his casual outfit: a pair of well-worn jeans, a black shirt that fits him just right, and a green baseball hat.
Before you can admire him any longer, Kelcey pulls you along to start taking photos. The first few interactions go smoothly, with fans smiling as they pose beside you, football in hand. Of course, there are always a few who try to get a little too close, but security is quick to intervene, keeping everything under control.
As you smile for the camera, you’re completely unaware of Rafe’s gaze locked on you from across the room. His eyes trail over your figure, captivated by your appearance. Your radiant smile, the way you carry yourself—everything about you seems to draw him in. He watches intently, his attention fixed solely on you, as if nothing else in the room matters.
“Watcha lookin’ at?” Chris asks, nudging Rafe’s shoulder with a playful grin. He follows Rafe’s line of sight, his curiosity piqued. It doesn’t take long for Chris to figure out what—or rather, who—has captured Rafe’s attention. A knowing smirk spreads across his face as he spots you across the room. “Coach’s daughter, huh?” he chuckles, turning back to Rafe, who still hasn’t torn his eyes away from you.
Chris can’t resist teasing him a bit more. “Heard from a few fans ‘round here that she’s their favourite,” he comments, watching Rafe’s expression carefully. Rafe scoffs, but the amusement is clear in his eyes. “Too bad. It’s not like it’s my name she’s—” “Woah there, bud. Too much info. Jesus,” Chris interrupts with a laugh, shaking his head as he holds up his hands in mock surrender. “I didn’t need to hear all that.”
As Chris walks back to the others, still chuckling to himself, Rafe remains rooted to the spot, his gaze never straying from you. The smirk on his lips only deepens as he watches you, the teasing from Chris barely registering in his mind.
His thoughts are entirely occupied by you—your smile, the way you move, the effortless way you light up the room. Even from across the room, it’s clear that you have a magnetic pull on him, one that he has no desire to resist.
Rafe’s gaze narrows as he notices a man approach you and the other cheerleaders. Even from a distance, it’s clear that this guy’s attention is solely on you. The way he barely acknowledges the others, his focus only really locking on you when it’s his turn for a photo, makes it obvious to anyone paying attention—this man has a particular interest in you.
Rafe watches intently, a sense of unease creeping in as the man lingers around you. Something about him doesn’t sit right. The usual football, meant to occupy fans' hands and prevent unwanted contact, has somehow gone missing, and security is scrambling to find a replacement. In that brief moment of chaos, the man sees his opportunity.
Rafe’s muscles tense as he watches the man discreetly slide his hand around your back. His fingers hover just above your exposed skin, as if hesitating, before finally making contact with your waist and smoothly resting on your hip. It’s a subtle move, but to Rafe, it’s glaringly inappropriate.
His jaw clenches tightly, frustration bubbling up as he realises the sea of fans between you and him would make it impossible to reach you in time. He feels a surge of protectiveness and helplessness all at once.
But then, he notices your reaction. You don’t hesitate—your hand quickly grabs his, pulling it firmly away from your body. Your expression is unreadable from where Rafe stands, but he can see that you’re saying something to the man, your words lost in the noise of the crowd. Fortunately, before the situation escalates further, the security guard steps in. His large frame moves between you and the man, effectively blocking any further contact.
Rafe exhales, tension still coiled in his muscles, but relieved that you handled the situation with the confidence and poise he’s come to admire in you. Even from across the room, he can see that you’re okay, but that doesn’t stop the protective instinct from simmering just beneath the surface.
~
The moment you make eye contact with the fan, a strange vibe settles over you. There’s something off about the way he looks at you, his gaze intense and fixated. Still, you smile at him, greeting him politely even as he barely acknowledges the other girls.
His focus is entirely on you, and you can feel the discomfort creeping in. A quick glance at Kelcey and Reece confirms they feel it too, their eyes mirroring your unease. "Hi, how are you?" you ask, maintaining your practiced smile as the man approaches. You guide him to the center, between you and Kelcey, trying to keep things professional.
"I'm so great," he replies, grinning at you in a way that makes your skin crawl. You nod, forcing a smile, though the unease gnaws at you. "You're even more gorgeous up close," he comments, his voice laced with something that makes you nervously chuckle.
"Thank you..." you reply, your voice trailing off as you notice the security guards in conversation. Concern flickers in your eyes, and you glance at Kelcey for confirmation. "They lost the football," she whispers, and you nod in understanding, trying to keep your composure.
"Did the other guy maybe take it with him—" Before you can finish your sentence, you feel it—a hand sliding onto your waist, then resting on your hip bone. Your body tenses, and without hesitation, you step away, firmly pulling his hand off of you.
"Please do not touch me," you say, your voice steady and commanding. The firmness of your tone catches the attention of everyone around you. The man’s bravado crumbles in an instant, replaced by nervousness as all eyes turn on him. "I didn’t mean to—sorry," he stammers, but the lie is obvious, his excuse flimsy.
You narrow your eyes slightly, your patience wearing thin. "You didn’t mean to feel up my waist and hip?" you challenge, your voice tinged with defensiveness. Before the situation can escalate further, a security guard steps in, his imposing presence effectively cutting off the interaction.
"Okay, that’s enough," the guard says firmly, positioning himself between you and the man. "Sir, were you aware that there is a strictly no-touching rule when it comes to taking pictures with the cheerleaders?" The man gulps, his earlier confidence evaporating. "No—no, I had no idea—"
The guard raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "You’re telling me you haven’t seen the signs that are everywhere informing you about this?" His tone leaves no room for argument. "Move along, please," the guard instructs, gesturing with a dismissive wave of his hand. As the man sheepishly slinks away, the guard turns to you, his voice softening. "Miss, are you okay?"
You nod, your pulse still racing but your composure intact. "I’m fine, thank you," you reply, your voice steady. Kelcey and Reece quickly move to your side, their concern evident as they guide you away from the scene.
"Let’s get to the changing rooms," Kelcey murmurs, her arm around your shoulder as the next group of cheerleaders takes over. You allow yourself to be led away, grateful for the support, but also determined not to let the incident shake you.
~
Rafe watches intently as you disappear from view with the other girls, a tightness in his chest gradually loosening as you’re led safely away. He lets out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, turning back to face the next round of fans lining up for pictures. His mind is still half on you, replaying the scene over in his head, but he forces himself to focus on the task at hand.
A few more fans pass by, offering handshakes and snapping photos, but then something catches Rafe’s eye—a familiar face in the crowd. It’s him. The same guy who had touched you earlier. Rafe’s entire body stiffens, his muscles tensing as a wave of anger surges through him.
His glare sharpens, eyes narrowing on the man who seems completely oblivious to the fury directed his way. The guy casually makes his way down the line of players, shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries, utterly unaware of the storm brewing in Rafe’s eyes.
When the man finally reaches Rafe, he extends his hand with the same nonchalant attitude, expecting another casual greeting. But Rafe has no intention of letting this slide. He grasps the man’s hand in a firm, vice-like grip, squeezing just hard enough to send a clear message.
The man’s expression shifts from easygoing to startled as he looks up at Rafe, his brows furrowing in confusion. Rafe meets his gaze head-on, his eyes cold and unyielding. There’s no need for words; the intensity of Rafe’s stare says it all. The man fidgets slightly, trying to mask his discomfort, but it’s clear he’s rattled by the unexpected show of strength and the silent warning in Rafe’s eyes.
The handshake lingers a beat too long, the tension thick in the air, before the man awkwardly pulls his hand back, mumbling something under his breath as he moves on to the next player. Rafe watches him go, his jaw still clenched. He takes a deep breath, forcing himself to relax, but the anger simmering beneath the surface remains.
When it came time for the group photo, Rafe made sure his smile was practiced, not genuine, his eyes cold as the man stood at the center of the group. The man's audacity to remain at the event after what he had done gnawed at Rafe, his mind replaying the earlier scene with a growing sense of disbelief and anger.
As soon as the photo was taken and the man left, Rafe rolled his eyes and shook his head, barely able to contain his frustration. "I need to take five. Gotta hit the bathroom," Rafe said to the event coordinator, his tone controlled but urgent. "Yeah, sure, go ahead," she replied, barely glancing up as she continued to redirect the flow of fans.
Without wasting another second, Rafe made his way to the girls' changing room, his heart pounding with concern. He knocked in a familiar rhythmic pattern, the signal you both had used before to let each other know it was safe to open up.
You opened the door, and before you could say a word, Rafe swept you off your feet, pulling you into a tight embrace. The door clicked shut behind him as he nudged it closed with his foot, his arms wrapping around you protectively. The tension you’d been holding onto melted away the moment you felt his warmth, your own arms sliding around his waist.
"I saw what happened," he murmured against your hair, his voice soft but filled with concern. "You okay?" You let out a shaky breath, your face buried in his chest as you absorbed the comfort he offered. "Not really," you admitted quietly, the vulnerability in your voice evident. "But I'll be fine."
Rafe’s arms tightened around you, his grip steady and reassuring. He didn’t say anything, just held you close, letting the silence speak for the care he felt. He knew you were strong, that you could handle yourself, but that didn’t stop him from wanting to shield you from every bad moment, every unsettling experience. He couldn’t change what had happened, but he could be there for you now, and that was enough.
For a long moment, neither of you moved, just holding onto each other as the world outside faded into the background. Rafe’s presence was a balm to your frayed nerves, grounding you in a way that made the fear and unease dissipate, if only for a little while.
Finally, Rafe leaned back just enough to look at you, his hand gently cupping your face. "If you need anything, you tell me, alright? You don’t have to go through this alone." You nodded, your heart swelling with gratitude. "Thank you, Rafe. I’m glad you’re here."
His gaze softened, and he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment longer than necessary. "Always," he whispered, the promise clear in his voice.

jackie taylor headcanons

pairing: nocrash!jackie x reader
warnings: might be a bit ooc but oh well, fluff, some smut, fingering, oral sex, not proofread, 18+!
─ .✦ it’s obvious jackie is devoted to you. her bedroom wall is adorned with polaroids and framed prints. a polaroid of you sleeping peacefully during a lazy afternoon sits in her wallet. one photo, her favorite, is of you smiling at the camera, the sun catching your eyes just right. she keeps it near her bedside lamp, so it's the last thing she sees before sleeping and the first thing she sees when she wakes up. she’s even shocked herself at how she loves, she’s never seen herself as such a romantic. she’s just a big softie for you !!
─ .✦ jackie spends hours in her room, sitting in front of her cd player, recording mix cds. she makes ones for herself, filled with songs that remind her of you. she labels them "for y/n" in her handwriting, and cute doodles. she also makes ones for you, filled with songs she thinks and knows you’ll like, also subtly slips in ones that remind her of you two together.
─ .✦ during boring classes, when the lectures drag on, jackie finds herself doodling absentmindedly in her notebook. she draws little hearts, flowers, around your initials over and over again. and always with a smile playing on her lips.
─ .✦ jackie steals your perfume whenever she gets the chance, spraying it on her wrist, behind her ear, on her sweater. she loves how the scent clings to her clothes, making her feel like you're with her wherever she goes. she loves wearing your clothes too, anything that smells like you or reminds her of you.
─ .✦ in her locker, taped to the inside of the door, is a photo of you grinning cheerfully at the camera. she's caught herself smiling stupidly at it so many times, she's thankful her friends never notices, especially shauna. she’d never hear the end of it, she’s already teasing jackie about you enough.
─ .✦ jealous!jackie who hates when she sees another girl talking to you for too long, she'll find an excuse to interrupt or casually insert herself into the conversation. she hates it when other girls flirt with you, and she’ll roll her eyes or make a snarky comment under her breath whenever it happens. she knows it’s irrational, but she can’t help it - she just wants all of your attention.
─ .✦ jealous!jackie who gets particularly jealous when you're laughing too much with your friends, making her wonder if you're having more fun without her. she'll pull you aside later, pretending to need to talk to you about something, but really just wanting to check if you're still 'hers'.
─ .✦ jealous!jackie who will subtly move closer to you when you're out with friends and someone laughs a little too loudly at your joke, her arm brushing against yours. she'll make sure to lean in a bit more when she talks to you, staking her claim without being too obvious. if she sees another girl giving you a lingering look, she’ll casually put her hand on your lower back or link arms with you, just to make it clear that you’re taken.
─ .✦ jealous!jackie who will chime in when you’re out with friends and someone compliments your outfit, saying a soft “yeah, she looks beautiful in that.”
─ .✦ when you two are alone, jackie is an open book. she'll tell you how much she loves you, how beautiful she thinks you are, and how happy she is with you. she'll hold your hand, kiss you constantly, and whisper sweet nothings in bed. but when her friends are around, she clams up. however, if the conversation steers towards you, she can't help but light up and talk about you non-stop.
─ .✦ she especially loves to make out with you, her hands gently cupping your face or running through your hair. she'll press her body against yours, losing herself in the moment. her kisses are soft yet hungry, always leaving you breathless and wanting more. she loves the intimacy of it all, how close she can be to you physically and emotionally.
─ .✦ jackie absolutely loves it when you come to her soccer matches. she always looks for you in the crowd, and when she spots you, she plays with an extra spring in her step. she'll often sneak glances at you between plays, and if she scores a goal, she'll look straight at you, hoping to see that proud smile on your face. even better than match days are practice days - when you show up to watch her practice, she feels seen and supported when you make time just to watch her.
─ .✦ the type to twirl the phone cord or a strand of her hair around her finger when she’s on the phone with you, smiling so big. she gets so excited whenever you talk about your future together.
─ .✦ she loves nothing more than to take care of you before going out. she'll gently brush your hair, fixing any stray strands with a tender touch. she’ll apply your makeup with precision, taking her time to make sure everything is perfect. as she works, she'll compliment you softly, telling you how beautiful you look and how much she loves seeing you all dressed up. you stand there patiently, enjoying the attention and the gentle praise that flows from her lips.
─ .✦ you settle comfortably on her lap, facing her. she carefully applies mascara, her free hand resting on your thigh. she tries to focus, but being this close to you is making it difficult. her breaths become slightly heavier, and she can feel her heart racing. she can't help but get distracted by how adorable you look sitting there. eventually, the makeup brush falls to the mattress as she gives up and pulls you in for a kiss, often ends with you riding her fingers :).
─ .✦ she loves pleasuring you so much that she gets herself so worked up just from the act. she'll whine softly as she slides her fingers inside you, make needy little noises as she buries her face between your thighs. she'll squirm beneath you as she eats you out, her hips grinding against the mattress. she loves it so much that sometimes, the act alone is almost enough to make her come untouched. her fingers curl inside you with a gentle yet insistent rhythm, her other hand gripping your thigh tightly and whimpers whenever she thrusts her fingers inside you. her eyes flutter closed as she focuses on your pleasure, her own breaths coming in short, desperate pants.
─ .✦ but when the roles are reversed, jackie completely loses it. she goes from being whiny and needy to absolutely wild. her small noises turn into loud moans, her gentle whimpers become deep cries. she'll wrap her legs around your head, pull your hair, scratch your back. she's loud, messy, and absolutely uninhibited. she breaks easily - one good lick or deep finger thrust has her seeing stars.
─ .✦ she'll beg shamelessly, "please, please, please" over and over again, her voice breaking on each plea. she'll rock her hips into your touch or face desperately, searching for more pressure, more friction. she'll push your head down further or grab your wrist to pull your fingers deeper, her nails digging into your skin. she'll come so quickly when horny enough, often multiple times in a row, each time reducing her to a trembling, whimpering mess.
─ .✦ she dislikes arguments intensely, finding even minor disagreements painful. during arguments, she might be a bit petty - crossing her arms, giving you the silent treatment, making passive-aggressive comments and say unnecessary stuff under her breath. but the moment she realizes she's gone too far or sees you're upset, her expressions soften immediately. she'll do anything to make up - bring your favorite snack, write a sweet note, or just hold you tightly and apologize sincerely. "i'm so, so sorry, i'm so stupid. you're right, you're always right. i hate fighting and i love you so much, you can't be mad at me anymore. i was being childish... look at me, please? i'll throw myself off the roof if you stay mad at me for another second." post-makeup sex is guaranteed!
─ .✦ jackie is absolutely a passenger princess. she hates driving, finding it stressful and boring. she expects you to drive her everywhere - to school, to the mall, to her friends' houses. she'll sit in the passenger seat, playing with the radio or something from your glove compartment, giving you directions with a sweet tone while touching up her makeup.
─ .✦ passenger!princess!jackie who has her favorite cd set on repeat while you drive, singing along quietly, tapping her fingers on your dashboard, drives you insane but you don’t have the heart to tell her to stop. she loves finding cute or dumb excuses to reach over and touch you - fixes a piece of hair that's fallen out of place, or traces patterns on your hand that rest on the centre console. she often offers to be your "spotter" when parking, saying "careful! watch that side." she always falls asleep on long road trips, her head resting against the window, mouth open and softly snoring. which means you can finally change her cd to another one.
─ .✦ passenger!princess!jackie who is unfortunately prone to motion sickness, especially on winding roads. she always carries a pack of ginger candies with her, popping them into her mouth at the first sign of nausea. she'll ask you to drive slowly and carefully on those roads, looking a bit green. if it's a particularly bumpy road, she might even ask you to pull over so she can take a break and catch her breath - she hates feeling sick.
─ .✦ passenger!princess!jackie who hates whenever an aggressive driver cuts you off or drives recklessly around you, jackie tenses up immediately. her grip tightens on the car door handle, and she'll say "careful!" or "watch it!" multiple times, her voice filled with worry. she hates aggressive drivers - they make her anxious, especially when you're involved. "slow down when idiots like that are around," she might mutter, her jaw clenching slightly.
─ .✦ passenger!princess!jackie absolutely loves car games like "i spy" - it keeps her entertained during long drives. she'll lean forward in her seat, eyes scanning the roads eagerly. when she sees something that fits her clue, she'll excitedly tap your arm. "there!" she'll exclaim. she gets very competitive, often pouting dramatically when she loses. she gets especially competitive when she sees a yellow car, she has to say it before you and might swat your arm a bit too hard. hates when you get there before her though…
please send requests with anything you want me to write. :))) i'm running dry on ideas so if there's anything you want to see i'm open to mostly all ideas, dont be shy! >.<

Rafe roughly fingering virgin!reader 😊
(I see this as Rafe season 3 episode 7 at the party. So imagine you were Sofia in that moment 💦)
He would invite you over to a party at Tannyhill now that he ran the house. You’d be shy as you walked through the crowd of unfamiliar people until you saw him talking to a shorter man with the same buzzcut. You didn’t want to interrupt the conversation, getting ready to turn away when you heard his voice call you.
“Hey. You made it.” His voice soft as he got up from where he was sitting. You noticed the smirk on his friend’s face, making you blush at the sudden attention you were getting. Especially since you were only in a small bikini, the thin coverup not doing much to hide anything.
He towered over you in height as he stepped closer. His cologne making you weak in the knees as he wrapped his arm around your lower back. He took his Ray-Bans off with his free hand, those stunning ocean eyes now staring down at you. “You want something to drink?” He asked, his manners and hospitality being a plus.
The music bumped throughout the mansion as Rafe held your hand, leading you to the kitchen. You were new to the Outer Banks, not knowing how popular the last name Cameron really was. Everyone there greeted him as if he was royalty, making you feel special that you could be wrapped on his arm.
“Only very important people are aloud up here.” Rafe told you as he led you through the upstairs balcony away from everyone else. The way he said that made your heart race, the heat going straight to your virgin core.
Your tongues lazily moved together as you both sat against the couch, his hands traveling further down to your aching sex. You weren’t sure if it was the poorly mixed drink or he really just had this much of an effect on you, but you found yourself shyly spreading your legs. The dark chuckle against your lips as he pulled back made you let out a kitten like whimper.
“You want me to play with your pussy, pretty girl?” His voice about the sexiest thing you ever heard.
You found yourself nodding, finding it hard to form the words to tell him that you were still a virgin. It wasn’t exactly something you blurted out on the regular. You just really hoped it wouldn’t turn Rafe away, he definitely knew what he was doing. “I- I’ve never been touched down there before.” You whispered softly.
His hand stopped for a moment, an amused laugh coming out as he smirked against your cheek. “Shit…” His voice drawing out into a low groan. His hand pulled your bikini bottoms to the side roughly, holding the material back as he smacked your cunt hard. You let out a squeak, not expecting that same hand to shove two fingers down your throat without warning. Gagging at the intrusion, his left arm pulled you onto his lap.
“Get those fingers wet, slut.” Rafe’s low tone in your ear.
You whimpered around them, sucking them into your mouth like your life depended on it. You wanted to be such a good girl for him, doing quite literally anything as long as he was the one it could be with. His fingers abruptly pulled out, shoving themselves into your virgin hole. You let out a gasp, your toes curling at the roughness.
“Rafe- too much.” You squeal out, his digits thick as he thrusted them in.
His ring and middle finger pushed through your tight hole, his knuckle hitting your cunt at a brutal pace when he slid them back in. “Hey, you wanna know something? My dick is huge.” He said, his left hand now coming up to grip your throat. “This is nothing compared what I’m about to do to this virgin cunt.” He spat, the gentleman now gone.
You cried out, pussy clenching around his fingers as he fucked them into you at a brutal pace. His hand was pressing against your throat, your brain fuzzy as the oxygen was being taken from you. Your poor body was betraying you, squeezing his digits as your pathetic pussy began to squirt everywhere.
“There she is. Make that pretty pussy cry for me.” He groaned into your ear, fingers slapping your sopping hole to make more gush out.

Bullshit.
The word rings obnoxiously in Steve’s ears as he pushes his way out back, not wanting to be anymore of a talking piece at this party than he already was.
He’d just wanted Nancy to stop drinking, take a second, pace herself…
Steve swipes furiously at his eyes, and then curses when it nearly causes him to run into Chrissy Cunnginham, who’s perched in a chair tucked away from the patio door.
“Sorry, sorry.” He apologizes, trying not to sound like he’s upset, trying to keep his cool--only for her to look up and away, brushing off her own tears.
“Oh.” Steve says, a little laugh bubbling out of him. “You too huh?”
Thankfully she correctly interprets that he's not laughing at her, and adds her own giggle to the mix, the sound gentle even if pitched in upset.
"Boy problems?" Steve asks her, sinking down to the vacant chair on Chrissy's right.
She nods, clasping her hands together in her lap.
"Girl problems?" She asks back, and he grimaces a smile.
They sit for a minute, Steve pulling out a cigarette and offering it to her before lighting up. Chrissy shakes her head, and though her nose curls a little at the smoke she doesn’t say anything.
Neither of them do, staring at the few people bringing the party outside in the way only drunk teenagers can.
"Can I tell you something?" Chrissy says finally, as Steve continues to struggle to keep himself breathing evenly (and not spiraling. He still has to go back and try and escort Nancy home, and he needs to keep his temper when he does it.)
She licks her lips. "I keep trying to break up with Jason, but he won't let me."
It takes a second for the words to register, but when they do he leans himself towards chrissy in concern. “What do you mean, he won’t let you?”
“He’s not--it’s not…”She trails off, worrying her bottom lip with her teeth. “He talks me out of it is all.”
She’s downplaying it, and Steve’s concern grows tenfold. “Does he argue with you or just…tells you no or something?”
"It's complicated." Chrissy says, refusing to look at him. "He has this vision for me, for us."
Steve watches as she worries at a hangnail.
Feels the need to reach out and take her hand, but keeps his own hands to himself.
If Steve has learned anything, it's that not everyone wants to be touched as much as he does.
"He keeps telling me I'm just being anxious. That I should trust him, and I do, he just expects me to always do what he says? And more and more lately I--"
She huddles down into the little cat costume she's wearing, pulling the thin black sweater around her. "I want different things than he does."
Steve wonders vaguely if Nancy wants different things.
Or a different person entirely.
"That's not fair to you." Steve says, leaning forward and lowering his own voice. "He can't keep you in a relationship you don't want to be in."
A hard thing for him to say, after the bathroom conversation but this is different.
‘Please, let this be different.’ He thinks, before pushing the thought aside.
"He can't force you to do what he wants just because he wants it, or thinks its best. He should be listening to you and what you want too. Relationships are about…compromise right?” It’s what he’s heard anyway, though most of the time “compromise” means “letting the other person get what they want.”
Which is what he thought he’d been doing for Nancy all this time.
“I can help you if you want. Be your," Steve poorly mimes waving a pom pom. "cheer support."
Chrissy looks at him, eyes still wet. "You would?"
"Of course.” He says, before scooting just a smidgen closer. “Might have to ask you to return the favor though. Nancy said some things tonight and I could really use a second--”
A loud curse makes them both startle, interrupting Steve.
Together, they look around before another noise, like bark being scraped, draws both their attention to the large oak that stands in the backyard.”
"Is…is that Eddie Munson?" Chrissy asks.
"I think so."
Chrissy squints a little, as if not quite believing what she's seeing. "Is…he stuck in a tree?"
Steve finds himself staring in his own disbelief, hands moving to his hips as he watches Munsons wriggling, cursing form.
"I think so." He repeats with a shake of his head.
Eddie's foot slips off a branch, once, twice.
"Hey--" Steve calls out in warning, but unfortunately it comes too late.
The branch under his foot gives away with a startling crack! as another branch shreds Munson's jacket as his full weight caches on it.
"Oh!" Chrissy gasps, hand flying to her mouth as Eddie falls right onto his ass with a yelp.
"You good man?" Steve asks, rising from his chair, hesitant to go over but needing to make sure the idiot hasn't cracked his skull open.
Chrissy has no such qualms, popping up to run over to Munson.
"You're bleeding." She tells him worriedly, dropping to her knees to get a better look.
"Well shit." Munson says with a wonky grin. “I’m sorry.”
“What are you apologizing for?” Chrissy asks, as Steve’s newly honed babysitting instincts kick in and drive him to get up and look at Munson’s injury himself.
Chrissy carefully strokes the older teen’s hair out of his face, as Steve bends down to check his head and neck.
"You hurt anywhere?" He asks, spotting the scratch that had Chrissy worried.
It’s on his forehead--the guy must have knocked his face against the tree when he fell. Head injuries always bleed a ton but this one's well contained to a small scrape.
Probably not a concern, though Steve looks at his pupils anyways.
"Nah, I’m pine. I didn't mean to drop in on you guys.” He waves a hand behind him before dropping his voice to a dramatic whisper. “I knew I shouldn’t have trusted that tree, it was pretty shady.”
Steve, long trained by Dustin, narrows his eyes. "Are you making puns right now?"
"Maybe?" Munson hedges, looking delighted to have been called out.
“Uh huh.” Steve puts his hands back on his hips, straightening up from where he’d crouched down. “Your head okay? You remember your name and shit?”
“Edward Edwardian Munson, present and ready for duty!” He gives a mock salute, before dropping Chrissy a wink. “If the duty is drinking and playing games that is.”
“Your middle name cannot be Edwardian.” Chrissy laughs.
"It is!" He defends, at the same time Steve says,
“It's not "
“Oh?” Munson challenges, as if this entire situation isn’t ridiculous. “Then what is my middle name, Sir Steven?”
“No idea, but I know it’s not that.”
Munson blows a raspberry at him. “Well then, maybe you should mind your own beeswax."
"Like you were doing? Up in the tree right above us?" Steve banters back.
The playful look dies a little, Munson beginning the painful process of standing after one falls.
"For the record, I absolutely was not eavesdropping, you guys just happened to be under the tree I climbed and I was there first. " He says it rapidly, like he's used to being accused of such things, and is heading off as many problems as he can.
Steve just ignores it, opting instead to hold his hands out. One to Chrissy and one to Eddie.
Watches surprise cross the older teens face, even as he waits for Chrissy to get up before accepting Steve's hand.
"Why were you up a tree? The family dog run you up there?" Steve grunts as he pulls the metalhead up.
"Funny." Munson quipped sarcastically. "But no. I was up there for reasons."
'Reasons.' Steve mouths, and has to fight himself to keep from grinning.
"Even though I was there first, I did happen to hear some things." He looks at Chrissy, voice turning serious. "If you need any help getting things through Carver's thick skull I'd love to lend a hand."
"You would cheer for me too?"
"Oh absolutely. I'd make a far better cheerleader than Harrington here." He shoots a grin towards Steve to take the edge off the words, before doing a far more enthusiastic mimicry of the cheerleaders pom pom routine.
"But I know how much Carver hates the word no. If you break up with him and he gives you shit after, I'm happy to step in."
Steve hadn't actually thought about that yet, but given what he knew of Jason it makes sense.
He could easily see Chrissy worrying about Jason harassing her after the break up.
"Thank you. Both of you." She sniffs. "Eddie, are you sure you're okay?"
"Right as rain!" Munson gives a rather theatrical thumbs up. "I'll let you in on a family secret, we Munson's have rubber bones."
She gives him another giggle for his efforts, and even Steve can’t fully cover his
Munson, the ass, notices.
“Well call me the court jester, I got both the King and Queen to smile!” He cheers.
Steve rolls his eyes, but doesn't deny it.
"Chrissy!?" Someone barks, loud in the otherwise quiet backyard.
"Speak of the devil." Eddie drops his voice dramatically as Jason strides out of the house.
"I've been looking for you." He chides, two of his friends following close behind.
They're younger members of the basketball team, ones Steve's brain sluggishly attempts to remember.
"Are your knees dirty?" Jason asks Chrissy, disgust tinting his voice as he slowly looks from her to Munson next to her.
His eyes narrow, expression almost offronted.
"You heathen." Jason snarls, stepping forward with a fist clenched.
It was a move right of the sitcoms Steve swore he didn't watch, and it looked just as cheesy in real life as it did on screen.
"Calm down." Steve speaks up, hands going to his hips.
Jason's head jerks as he registers him, so focused on Munson that Steve slipped his notice entirely.
"Harrington?" He asks, as if Steve could be mistaken for anyone else here.
Steve gives him jazz hands in return.
"What are you doing out here?" Jason speaks only to Steve, whole body angling towards him like he's the only person who matters.
It's something Steve's dad does, if there's a businessman he considers to be an equal in the room. Zoning in on them, so he can subtly work in ways to make them feel inferior.
It's narcissism at its core (or so says his mother, when she's blitzed out on too many glasses of wine.)
"Talking to people." Steve deadpans. "If you're looking for beer, you walked past it."
Jason entire face pinches, like he just stepped in dog shit. "No one just talks to Munson."
It's a stupid thing to say, and whatever Hason was trying to imply with it wasn't appreciated.
"Well mark me as the first." Steve's hip cocks, voice frosting over.
Surprise washes across Munson's face, though he remains silent as Steve deals with Jason.
Probably a smart move, given how Jason seems to be eager for a fight.
"Whatever it is you're doing, you can leave Chrissy out of it." He says, and god his voice even sounds like Steve's dad.
"Chrissy," Steve says, with an eyebrow raise he knows looks judgemental, "can speak for herself."
He turns to face her, inviting her to the conversation, in the same way he'd always wished someone would invite his mother to speak against his father.
Watches as the cheerleader bites her lip, trying hard to hide the tears that have sprung to her eyes--but proves that she's stronger than Steve's mother ever was.
She steps forward, taking the opportunity offered to her with a steadying breath. "Jason--"
"You can explain it to me later." Her boyfriend waves her off, like she was a waitress offering water and not his partner.
Uncaring entirely that she's clearly upset.
That she wants to talk.
Munson has come to stand on Chrissy's other side, gone still in a way Steve's never seen him do.
It's downright weird for a guy who's normally always moving, and Steve knows it's defensive.
He's feeling a little defensive himself right now, though he doesn't want to particularly untangle why.
"Jason, listen to me." Chrissy tries again.
In his preffery vision, Steve spots a flash of familiar color. Turns his head automatically, seeking it out--and sees Jonathan hustling Nancy across the room.
The younger man is trying to balance Nancy while opening the front door, and for a second Steve almost beelines for them, except--
Except.
Nancy's whole body moves in what Steve intimately knows is an exhale, leaning her head in the crook of Jonathan's shoulder.
One arm wraps around his waist, as Jonathan finally gets the door open, and Steve watches with a stunned sort of horror as his girlfriend presses a kiss to Jonathan's shoulder.
It's fine.
He's fine.
Nancy was just--drunk. Seeking comfort. She didn't know what she was doing. She didn't mean it like that, she didn't--
"Oh shit Harrington." Jason drawls, a lazy sort of taunt. "I think Byers just stole your girlfriend."
Steve's head snaps back to him, the emotions he was attempting to box up flying to the front of his brain like dogs who slipped their leash.
"Never thought a priss like Nancy would be easy like that, but then, you never were the kind of guy to inspire loyalty." Jason continues, clearly ignoring his own girlfriend and all Steve can see is red.
Munson sucks air between his teeth next to him, nervously eyeing Steve while Chrissy's eyes have gone wide with shock and growing anger.
"Jason!" She admonishes, but he's not even looking towards her.
That too sharp smile is all for Steve.
He thinks of Nancy, the way she'd been so angry with him but so gentle with Jonathan.
He thinks of the monster he faced down in the Byers house, the terror that had shrank down to that same adrenaline soaked focus he had on the basketball court.
He thinks of this asshole Junior in front of him.
Making Chrissy cry just because she'd been kind enough to try to help Eddie, and accept Eddie's kindness in return when the weirdo tried to help her and Steve both.
Steve taps his foot, then switches his stance.
'Plant your feet.' Hargroves voice snarls in his memory and Steve wouldn't be surprised if the asshole abandons the keg long enough to come watch this.
Have his turn at heckling, just because he can.
Steve plants his feet anyway.
"You know what Carver?" He says, hands dropping from his hips.
Jason's face curves into a smile. "What?" He says, tone smarmy.
"You're full of shit."
Hand cocking back of its own accord, Steve puts every bit of himself into his punch.
Feels it reverberate up his arm as his knuckles connect to Jason's cheek.
It's going to hurt later, but right now all he can do is stand over Jason as the asshole's head snaps sideways, legs staggering him backwards until he's falling into his friends.
Chrissy gasps, Jason's boys chanting variations of 'Oh shit!'
Steve just glares him down.
The junior wipes his bloodied mouth, letting his friends push him up before shrugging them off.
"You're going to regret that." Jason snarls, and Steve squares up a second time, expecting to be rushed, when the sharp snickt! of a switchblade freezes them both.
"I think we're done here." Munson says, knife in hand.
The blade he holds is stained a deep, russet red. Crusty flakes fall off it, drifting gently down to the patio floor.
Jason's eyes boggle at it for a moment before he stands up straight.
"Now it makes sense. You're weak, Harrington, letting the Freak get his claws into you." Jason spits bloodstained saliva down at Eddie's feet. "No wonder Coach wants Billy as co-captain!"
Steve just scoffs.
"Chrissy!" Carver barks, making the poor girl jump. "Come here, we're leaving!"
Trembling, but stepping closer to Steve, she shakes her head.
"Chrissy." Jason orders again, and has the audacity to point to his feet, like a man commanding his dog.
"No." Chrissy says it quietly at first, voice a little shaky, before she seems to realize it.
She stands taller, repeats herself in a stronger voice. "No, Jason. We're done."
Jason stares at her, hard. "Chrissy, your mother told me to bring you home. So I'm going to take you home and get you away from this--demon and his lackey!"
It doesn't sound loving.
It sounds like a threat.
He steps forward, hand out to grab her arm and Steve tenses, shifting to step in front of Chrissy.
Eddie beats him there.
The word demon seems to awaken something in him, because his face is now grinning theatrically, voice dipping low in pitch.
"You heard her, Carver. She said no, and even I respect a lady's wish. So run along now," he walks two fingers in the air, from the hand not waving the knife around. "before I decide to make you and her both one of mine, just as I did Harrington!"
Jason actually crosses himself, before making one last attempt for Chrissy.
"That monster is dangerous. if you don't come with me, I'll have to alert your parents." He locks eyes with her. "For the good of your soul."
Steve snorts at that crock of shit, but Eddie lunges forward, slashing the knife in the air.
It's nowhere near Jason, but the guy leaps a foot back anyway.
"Begone!" Eddie booms, and that's all it takes for Jason and his cronies to huff and puff and stride away.
He keeps his arms in the air for a few beats more, before dropping them when it's clear Jason won't be back.
"So I'm yours, huh?" Steve drawls, as Eddie finally puts his hands down and turns to face them.
The guys scary face drops into something almost excited, and Steve can practically see the adrenaline crackling through him.
"Hey it worked. Carver's a religious nut, he goes running anytime you even hint at Satan." Eddie shrugs, grinning wildly. "Put on a little show and poof! Him and his flying monkeys melt away!"
He mimes melting and Steve stares at him for it, until he hears Chrissy laughing next to him.
Eddie grins at her and Steve is hit with the realization that it was for her benefit. To make her feel better about her psycho ex.
Something fond and familiar winds through his chest as the other boy bows.
He refuses to put a name to it.
"Did you paint your knife?" He asks instead, rubbing the hand he hit Jason with.
"What?" Eddie asks, startled out of his court jester act.
Steve nods to his hand holding the switchblade. "That's not blood, it's way too red."
"Ah." Eddie turns the grin back on, and this time it's for Steve. "Yeah, it's uh. Modeling paint. Not like Carver would know the difference."
Unspoken was the fact that he hadn't thought Steve would.
Prior to last year, he'd have been right.
Drunken cheering erupts into wild yells inside, breaking whatever spell the three of them were under.
Hargrove's voice is the loudest among them, and the dude is definitely wasted.
Steve has a feeling Hargrove also knows the difference between paint and blood, rendering Munson's knife trick useless if the dick tried to start something.
"Do you want a ride home, Chrissy?" He asks quietly.
"If it's not a bother." She says, wiping tears shed refused to let fall from her eyes.
Chrissy Cunningham was a lot stronger than people gave her credit for.
"Come on, Munson, I think it's time we all make our exit." Steve says, finding himself weirdly unwilling to leave the older teen behind.
Eddie could hold his own, but given how badly things were playing out Steve figured it was best if they all just called it a day.
"Yeah lemme just…" Munson puts his blade away, fumbling at his pockets for a moment before turning and snatching up a metal lunchbox.
"There! After you, my liege." He says, before opening the lunchbox to make it talk.
"My lady." He makes it say, pitching his voice high.
Chrissy breaks into giggles again and Steve rolls his eyes, but he claps his good hand on Eddie's shoulder as he walks past.
Eddie smiles at him, this one a bit softer than the others, eyes sparkling and Steve chooses not to read into that either.
The three of them walk together, Eddie splitting off to his van after Chrissy thanks him.

prompt: IKEA soap/reader fic. PART 3. (read 1, 2) tags: dubcon
-
The Christmas party presents a whole new challenge in trying to ward Johnny off.
It’s hard because at first you almost gravitate towards him, weirdly enchanted by his ugly sweater with red reindeer on the sleeves. It’s only when he finally spots you—and you shudder when you notice the way his eyes scan across the crowd of other employees, seeking you out—and he practically lights up that you snap back to reality.
He blazes a path towards you like a heat seeking missile, dodging around your other coworkers. You stand there awkwardly as he cuts across the room, wondering if maybe you should’ve just texted your manager some excuse about feeling sick and stayed home. Too late now though.
Fortunately for you, the assistant manager intercepts before Johnny’s able to make it halfway across the room, stepping between the two of you like they don’t even realize they’ve interrupted anything. There’s a split second where you can see Johnny wrestle with the urge to push them aside, fury clear in his eyes. Maybe only to you. The assistant manager opens their mouth and talks like nothing’s amiss, like it isn’t clear that Johnny is only a handful of seconds away from causing serious harm.
Then it passes; recedes into the dark. Johnny’s blue eyes go pellucid again, unbothered by the real world. The smile that spreads across his face seems sincere; if you hadn’t been watching him that entire time, you might not have even thought that he’d harboured any violence inside of him.
You saw it though. You saw it.
It makes sense in the context of his background. You’d never given the ex-military thing much thought, but every so often you can almost feel the ghost of its presence in the back of your mind. When his reflexes kick in or the gleam in his eyes grows dark. He doesn’t ever talk about his past life in specifics, only grand overtures meant to distract anyone listening, but what he does reveal sometimes makes your stomach clench.
You swallow and turn back to the conversation with your other coworkers, steadfastly avoiding Johnny’s eyes peeking over the assistant manager’s head.
The breakroom is decked out in cheap Christmas decorations, a fiber-optic tree set up in the corner, iridescent bristles shifting colours with every blink. Someone passes you a vaguely alcoholic drink and you sip at it nervously, reaching the bottom of your first cup faster than you anticipated.
Your secret Santa gift is on a table just outside the breakroom in the hall, along with all the other gifts. Something about it draws your eyes several times throughout the evening. Maybe something you saw but didn’t register. It’s hard to keep focused on the conversation happening around you when your attention oscillates between Johnny and the gift table, but you respond hastily when someone prompts you to answer.
It comes to light when someone clinks a spoon against their glass and directs everyone to gather in the middle of the room. Two of the warehouse guys awkwardly try to bring the table into the room without knocking any of the gifts onto the floor. There are a few casualties, but when they manage to twist it enough to get it through the door, someone pulls up a chair to stand on and read off all of the names to hand out the gifts.
Several people coo when you’re revealed as the recipient of Johnny’s gift. There’s no reason for it to come as a shock, but your stomach clenches anyway.
He stands practically right up against you when you open it. You know the second you unwrap it that the delicate bottle of perfume in your hands must have been in the three figures. All you did was get someone a handmade mug from a local craft fair. He stares at you when you unwrap it, beaming when you give him a very controlled thank you because the alternative is screaming that this is way too expensive for you to keep.
“Ye should put it on,” he tells you, breathing just a little heavier. “Really want ta smell it on ye.”
You don’t know what possesses you to give it a spritz on your wrist, letting him guide your hand to dab it against the base of your throat. It’s intimate enough that his eyes follow the movement of your throat when you swallow, mouth going dry. They drag up to your lips when they part, a hesitant thanks hanging off your tongue.
“Jesus Christ, get a room already,” someone near you murmurs, but it doesn’t take long for their attention to slip off you as the next gift recipient is announced. Not Johnny though.
Your mouth snaps shut.
He hovers at your back for the rest of the gift handouts, so close that you can feel the heat radiating off him. You flinch at his bitten off groans whenever you so much as fidget, rubbing against him. Shaking him off seems like a hopeless task until someone asks if you have a lozenge, giving you an excuse to take them to your locker.
You can feel him stalking you like a shark around the breakroom when you chat with some of your other coworkers, the smile on your face becoming forced.
“Did’ya know Johnny actually—oh, sorry, burped—he actually paid me…to get your name?” your coworker giggles, absolutely sloshed. You’re tipsy too, but her words make you go a bit cold.
“Pardon?” you ask. The red cup crackles when your fingers tighten around it.
“He paid me. Fifty dollars. Jus’ to get your name for the…for the stupid Santa thing. The secret Santa.”
You can feel the way your mouth hangs open, just a bit. Her words echo in your head, the conversation long over. You let her prattle on, still stuck on the thought of Johnny paying someone off just for the opportunity to give you a gift. The longer you stand there and chat with your coworkers, the more difficult it gets to look normal.
“Isn’t that something?” she prompts, nudging you with an elbow. Even the slightest touch hits you like a battering ram.
“Yeah,” you parrot back, “it’s something.”
Perhaps you’re overdue for a conversation with Johnny about boundaries. More than overdue. The package has been signed, sealed, and delivered. It was overdue months ago, the day you started working at the same store as him. By now, you should’ve quit or transferred, hell you should’ve yelled at him that one time he stopped you in the garden section to apply his own personal Chapstick to your lips (you don’t think about how you’d bitten them raw from staring across the row of potted flowers as he stacked bag after bag of fertilizer onto a customer’s pallet before pushing it to their car, his sleeves rolled up and thick biceps on display the whole time).
Can anyone blame you for being confused? It’s obvious what he’s offering. He does nothing to hide it. It’s also obvious that it would be, unequivocally, a terrible idea to take him up on it.
Maybe you just need some fresh air. You make an excuse and peel off from the rest of the group, heading for the door. Someone lurches out of the shadows in the corner before you can make it out.
“Look, bonnie—mistletoe,” Johnny teases, not letting you so much as glance up before snatching you by the hips and reeling you into him.
The kiss he plants on you is filthy and wet. Open-mouthed too so he can slip you his tongue, licking over the roof of your mouth. Sucking your bottom lip when you can’t help the whimper that slips out and he breaks away for only a split second to whisper oh fuck under his breath. Your mind reels when he dives back in for another kiss. He’s as good of a kisser as you might have expected, messy but forceful, threading a hand into your hair to hold you in place. The way he roots you in place licks at something delicious inside of you, a secret, buried urge.
Johnny finally pulls away when he can no longer convincingly ignore the way you push on his shoulders and squirm in his arms. His lips are wet when he pulls back, a thin strand of saliva clinging between your lips. It breaks when he runs his tongue across the wetness.
Someone whistles and Johnny grins from ear to ear, bashful under the joy brimming out of him. You stumble away the second his hands loosen on your hips, wiping a hand across your mouth.
“Good for you, John!” someone shouts through cupped hands and several of your coworkers cackle.
This time you actually manage to make it out the door and down the hall to the employee restroom. You spend the next few minutes washing your hands until your fingertips go pruney under the warm water and you try to think of anything except the texture of Johnny’s lips.
You touch your lips no less than three times. Each time, your fingers come back trembling. It’s what you’d long expected from Johnny, from someone that looks like him, like the physical embodiment of ‘for a good time, call…’ written in lipstick on the back of a gas station bathroom door.
The last thing you want to do is give him an inch, throw him a bone—actually lead him on, as your coworker might say. Still, your finger trembles on your lip. You know he’d make it good. Even if he didn’t, looking like that, who could blame you? The thought makes you wince, conscience of objectifying him, but haven’t you been subject to worse by now? You’re due far more than some measly peck for how many times he’s slapped your ass, stolen your scrunchie (two so far), or said something nasty to you.
It’s not hard to track him down when he’s always hovering nearby, this time just off by the watercooler with your manager and a few other coworkers. The hand not holding a drink is buried deep in his pocket, the smile on his face strained by a mask of politeness; you can tell at a glance that he’s only playing at civility, that he’d rather be anywhere else but chatting with his boss and colleagues at the office party.
When he spots you approaching the group of them, his eyes widen, excitement bleeding back into them. It takes your breath away.
“Ah, there’s your other half, Johnny,” your manager says and you freeze.
“Aye, so she is. She’s a good little kisser, did’ye see?” Johnny gushes, pulling you in by the waistband of your pants. You’re a bit too tipsy to protest when he slips his hand around your waist.
It clicks into place. When he pulls you into his side, it feels like slotting into a space made just for you, unwelcome or not. You don’t even notice if your other coworkers laugh or not, fixated on his eyes. He can hardly pull them away from you. Every long shift waking up on the sofa in the breakroom with Johnny standing over you, eyes glinting like a predator’s in the woods, and every coworker’s joke about being Johnny’s girl feels like it’s been leading to this. You have to know what it’d be like.
“Um…Johnny?” you start, tugging on his shirt gently.
“Yeah, hen? What’s it?”
“Can we…um…do you wanna go somewhere more private?”
His breathing stops, body frozen against yours. “Ye serious, kitty? You’re not joking?”
You shake your head. “Just…just one time? Maybe?”
The first sign of movement from him is a full body shudder that nearly makes you step back. The frazzled look in his eyes borders on manic, flitting around the room looking for the nearest exit. Johnny tosses the group some hasty, poorly worded goodbye (you think he even flubs your manager’s name) and tears away from them, you still glued to his side. Someone giggles as you leave. You can’t pay them any mind though, not with how frantically Johnny pulls you out of the breakroom and down the hall, his long strides nearly making you trip over your feet.
“Johnny—slow down—”
“Hen, I’ll carry ye over my shoulder to the closet, I swear.”
He nearly barrels you over with how forcefully he pushes you into the closet, hot mouth latched onto the side of your throat. You hear the sound of the lock clicking behind him. The closet is swathed in darkness, only the barest hint of light bleeding through from underneath the doorway. It’s hardly enough for you to see anything in front of you, but that almost doesn’t matter with how Johnny curls around you, his body caging you in against the shelving behind you.
“Please, please, fuck, I cannae believe it, fuck—” Johnny groans into your neck, a pathetic desperate sound that you’ve never heard from him before. He even keens a bit. “Oh Jesus, baby, I’ve been—dinnae if ye knew or not, but I’ve been fuckin’ obsessed with ye for ages, Christ.”
You let out a laugh in disbelief, embarrassed by how breathless it sounds. “I—oh—I f-figured.”
His hands drag up and down your back, tugging at the fabric of your shirt and practically ripping it out of where it’s been tucked into your pants. If you had buttons, you think you’d burst straight off, zip off the walls and roll under one of the shelves. Johnny’s eagerness bleeds through—months of barely concealed lust unravelling right in front of you, his hands practically shaking when they grope along your sides and under your breasts. His fingers dig almost painfully into your flesh until you whimper and he murmurs a broken apology into your neck.
“Wha’d’ye want, baby? I can—fuck, anything ye want, I promise—” Johnny begs, the sound almost pitiful. It makes your pussy ache.
“Your—your mouth—”
The speed with which he drops to his knees almost makes you flinch. His kneecaps are only saved by the carpeted floor, present nowhere else in the employee section apart from the supply closets. His hands go to the zipper and button on your jeans, yanking viciously, almost snarling when they don’t immediately come undone. When you try to help him, he bares his teeth, more animalistic than you’ve ever seen him before.
“Do these fuckin’ pants even come off?” Johnny growls, giving another yank. You hear something rip and wince.
He manages to wrench your pants down until they pool around your ankles, only enough concentration left in him to pull one leg out and drape it over his shoulder.
“Johnny—my underwear—holy shit—” you gasp when he mashes his face into the crotch of your panties, laving his tongue over the fabric. You can feel the heat of it through the gusset of your underwear, each desperate lick trying unsuccessfully to pull them to the side.
“Fuck, s’ry, baby, I’ll take ‘em off,” he apologizes, voice muffled where his mouth is still pressed to your pussy. Reluctant to move even an inch away from you.
It takes him a couple more seconds before he’s able to move away just long enough to pull your underwear down as well, struggling with getting it over the leg still draped over his shoulder and nearly losing his patience twice over.
He takes to eating you out like something he’s done for years—naturally. Crudely. Eyes fluttering shut when he drags his tongue from your slit to your clit, unabashedly enjoying himself. His moans drag through you, making you nearly shake right out of your skin. His chin is already wet when you glance down. He spreads your inner lips with two fingers to open you fully to his gaze, lapping at your clit until he can hardly pull his mouth away from your cunt.
Johnny drags one of your hands from his hair to cradle the side of his face, turning into your palm to take a deep inhale. His eyelashes flutter against his cheeks, eyes several degrees hotter when they meet yours through the curtain of his lashes.
“Fuckin’ smell like mine too,” he growls. You jolt at his words. He draws a finger into his mouth and gives it a suck, making you trill.
“D-don’t get any ideas,” you gasp, other hand threading through his hair now, turnabout fair play. “S’just a—ah, ah—a one-time t-thing.”
“Aye, one time, one time,” he repeats. “Gonna make it so good f’r ye, baby.”
The two fingers spreading you open push against your entrance insistently. The initial stretch makes you tug at his hair, flushing when all that does is make him moan, mouth hung open sluttily. He looks even more strung out than you, eyes dark and heady. He’s also never looked more attractive.
Shelves jab into the small of your back, the ache growing the longer he keeps you like that with one leg slung over his shoulder, your knees almost buckling. Impossible to concentrate on the voice in your head screaming that this is a bad idea, not when he runs his tongue over your clit and sucks. Not when you’re forced to clamp a palm over your mouth to drown out your sounds.
The press of a third finger into you makes you flinch and yank at his hair, harder this time. Hard enough for Johnny to back off, an apology muttered into your wetness. The two splitting you are more than enough, you think, a bit wildly. He shouldn’t be prepping you for anything more. There’s a furrow to his brows though, a bit of frustration wedged in there. Like putting up with your complaints annoys him just a bit.
“John—c’mon, please, not so loud,” you beg.
He pumps his fingers into you, eyes trained on the spot where they disappear. The look in his eyes borders on reverent. “Always mouthin’ off, huh? Even when I’m getting ye off? On my knees ‘n everything?”
“There are p-people outside,” you hiss, clamping your hand back down over your mouth when he curls his fingers and presses up into you.
“Yeah?” The question sounds rhetorically, almost a challenge. The smile on his lips goes wicked sharp. “God, we wouldnae want ‘em ta hear, huh? What ye pulled me away from the party for?”
You don’t know why that’s what sets you off, but it does, eyes watering with the force of your orgasm. Back arched. Your head aches from where you knocked it back into the shelf behind you. Johnny groans when you clench around his fingers.
It’s a few seconds before you feel like you can speak again. The first thing you can utter is a hiss when Johnny laps at your slit again, far too sensitive for him to still be touching you.
“You can, ah…you can let me go now,” you pant. Coming back to your body takes an age, legs still trembling, held up by Johnny’s hands alone.
His fingers grip harder into your flesh. You stare down at him.
“Oh, pretty baby,” Johnny coos, eyes black with desire, “we’re jus’ gettin’ started.”

Celebrity Crush
Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem!reader
Summary: You have what some might consider to be an odd celebrity crush. Until you meet him in real life, that is. | 1.1k+ words of fluff!
Part 2: Celebrity Crush, Table for Two >
Masterlist | Tim Bradford Masterlist | Request Info/Fandom List
As you twirl your straw in your drink, you tune out the conversation of your friends. The message to get ready had come last minute, with only a few minutes to prepare for an outing before your best friend arrived to pick you up. You had been watching a true-crime documentary when the message came through, and rather than listen to your friends discuss their weekend plans, you think about the case in the show. Or, more specifically, one of the officers who worked the case.
“Hello,” one of your friends calls.
She draws the word out and waves a hand in front of your face, which you bat away when your attention returns to the restaurant and the people around you.
“Sorry,” you apologize. “What are we talking about?”
“Celebrity crushes!” she cheers. “Mine is Tom Cruise.”
“Gross! He’s old enough to be your dad,” another girl comments.
“And he can pay for everything like my dad, too.”
“Can we move on?” someone interrupts. “Who’s yours?”
“Mine?” you clarify, pointing at yourself. “Oh, uh, you probably haven’t heard of him.”
“C’mon, spill!” they encourage.
You shake your head, and the friend closest to you repeats, “Who’s your celebrity crush?”
“Tim Bradford,” you answer softly.
“Who?”
“He’s a cop, and he’s been in some documentaries. Like the ones with Corey Harris and Aaron Thorsen. Plus, a new one with doppelgangers,” you explain.
“So, he’s a cop, not a celebrity,” your best friend argues.
“He’s been on TV! More than once,” you point out.
“Girl, you know I love you, but that’s more of a ‘hear me out’ than a celebrity crush.”
You shake your head and sit back in your seat. The sooner you get home to finish the documentary, the better.
The next day, after you’ve finished the newest documentary and your crush on Tim Bradford has strengthened, you find yourself out shopping with your friends. Thankfully, they’ve moved on from the celebrity crush comment. While you’re in the third store of the day, you wait in the dressing rooms to rate your best friends’ choices while the other girls shop.
An employee approaches you with a nervous smile and asks if anyone else is in the fitting area.
“Yes, one of my friends is trying something on. Is everything okay?” you answer.
“Oh, of course. I don’t want to alarm you, but we’ve locked the doors because there are some suspicious characters in the area. The police are on the way, so everything will be under control soon.”
“Thanks for letting me know,” you say.
She sighs in relief that you were kind about the ordeal, then walks away to alert other customers. You look toward the large windows on the storefront but don’t see anything happening in the parking lot.
A few minutes later, after your friends have purchased their items and are waiting to leave, two police officers walk to the locked door and knock on it. The employee you spoke to earlier rushes to let them in and obeys when the male officer instructs her to lock the door again.
“Ladies, we’re with the LAPD,” the shorter man says. “Our colleagues are outside handling the situation as we speak. However, we need your help; if you’ve noticed anything out of the ordinary today, please meet me at the counter and we’ll fill out a report.”
The employees follow him to the counter, and you realize that he is in the documentaries you’ve been watching. As you turn to look outside again, you see the other officer.
“Are you Sergeant Tim Bradford?” you ask.
“Yes, ma’am,” he answers. “Can I help you with something?”
“Oh, no, I just watched the documentaries you were in and thought it was you. Your insight was informative; I liked listening to your side of the case.”
He smiles kindly and says, “I’m glad.”
You nod, then step back and look around the store. Unsure how much longer you’ll have to wait, you take a moment to look at the merchandise. You usually tag along on shopping trips but don’t buy anything. Your friends have different tastes than you, and an easier time buying things for themselves. One item catches your eye, and you run your finger over it. They have your preferred size, and you tap it a few times before you look away again.
Unknown to you, Tim watches you. He’s seen people come up to Aaron, Lucy, and even Nolan, and claim to have seen them on television. Those encounters usually end with someone asking for a picture, an autograph, and, once, to get their cousin released early. This is the first time he’s heard a genuine compliment, and he’s happy to have been the one you chose to give it to.
“Officer Bradford?” his partner calls. “A word?”
You smile at Tim when you look toward him, and with his eyes already on you, he notices immediately. He dips his chin as he walks past you, and you walk across the room to your friends.
“Wait, is that your celebrity crush?” your best friend whispers. “You didn’t say he was like… Abercrombie model hot!”
You shrug, and she turns to your other friends to talk about how attractive the officers are. Your gaze wanders back to the only thing in the store you’d ever consider buying, but you shake your head and look at Tim Bradford instead.
“The situation has been handled and the area is safe now. You’re free to go,” he announces. “Thank you for your help.”
Your friends rush out, eager to get to another store, but you walk toward the door at a normal pace. Tim and his partner are walking out too, and you hold the door for them.
“Go ahead,” Tim tells his partner. “Thanks,” he says to you.
He stops beside you, and you let the door close. After a glance over his shoulder, Tim passes you a bag.
“What is this?” you inquire.
“A thank you.”
“For?”
“Being nice. Plus, you didn’t ogle me like your friends.”
You chuckle and smile as you argue, “You’ve got to be used to that.”
“Is there anything I can do for you?”
You peek in the bag and see the item you were looking at. “I can’t accept this.”
“The ladies inside told me I had to take something for keeping them safe.”
“And you got me something?” Tim smiles, and you shake your head. “Thank you.”
“If you’d really like to thank me or hear more about those cases you seem to like so much, maybe we could meet for dinner sometime.”
“I would love that.”
“Great. I have to go, but… give me a call.”
You watch him leave, then realize that he didn’t give you his number. As you walk away, you pull the receipt from the bag. But it isn’t a receipt. It’s a piece of paper with his name and number. Under that, he wrote, I never wanted to be a celebrity crush before today.

Batfam + Danny go on vacation [Bruce/Danny; Spirit Halloween]
Finally we are here at the Beach episode! /joking (well mostly lol). Also we get a much needed conversation between Damian and Danny.
Read on ao3. Masterpost
Previous.
“So I have been thinking,” Danny starts as they are laying in bed, both of them winding down after a long day. Bruce raises an eyebrow when his husband doesn’t continue.
“Yes?” he prompts and closes the book he had been reading, settling it on the nightstand.
“I feel like we deserve a nice vacation,” Danny finally says.
Bruce knits his eyebrows together, but doesn’t disagree.
“We’ll have to coordinate the patrols, but I guess we should be able to make a trip for a few days.”
Danny exhales, shaking his head as he smiles at Bruce.
“I meant with the whole family.”
Bruce’s eyes widen and he just stares at Danny.
“Yes, that means even Duke and Alfred,” Danny adds. “Barbara and Steph too if they feel like it. They should get a chance to relax.”
Bruce presses his lips into a fine line.
“We can’t let Gotham stay unprotected.”
Danny sighs like he expected this.
“We could always ask Clark-“
Bruce bristles, narrowing his eyes as if he can’t believe what Danny just said.
“No way I’m letting him protect my city!”
Danny rolls his eyes before he pinches the bridge of his nose.
“Do you trust Clark?” he questions, staring his husband down.
Bruce squirms in his spot.
“Yes, but-“
“And if Clark asked you to protect Metropolis for him, would you deny him?” Danny interrupts.
“No of course not-“
“Then why don’t you extend him the same trust?” Danny huffs out a breath. “He’s literally your best friend Bruce, and we both know you don’t have a lot of those.”
Bruce doesn’t pout — for the record he doesn’t pout. He grunts, not meeting Danny’s eyes.
“I thought the sessions with Jazz were helping?” Danny asks as the man doesn’t answer. “You know you don’t have to keep pushing away people just because you are afraid of them getting hurt. You and I both know that if something really bad happens I can transport us back to Gotham in a blink.”
“It would be nice to have a vacation once in a while,” Bruce finally admits. “It’s just with everything going on lately… I feel uneasy.”
Danny lets out a fond huff as he kisses the man's cheek.
“See, that wasn’t so hard, right?”
“I hate that I don’t find that patronizing.”
Danny chuckles.
“The perks of being your husband, I guess,” he says cheekily before he reaches over to the lamp on his nightstand, turning it off. “I’ll bring up the idea to the rest of the family tomorrow.”
“I guess I don’t have a say in the matter,” Bruce sighs but it’s fond.
“You know the saying Happy husband, happy life.”
“That doesn’t even rhyme.”
Danny hushes him and Bruce rolls his eyes before he also turns off his lamp.
“Danny?” he extends into the dark.
His husband hums as Bruce finds his hand under the blanket.
“I love you.”
Bruce can hear Danny’s smile in his voice.
“I love you too.”
They draw a lot of attention as they arrive at the airport despite them taking a private plane. They stop for a moment outside the Gate as Danny does a headcount — making sure nobody got lost (or more like they saw something suspicious and decided to investigate. Yes, Danny is talking about Tim or Bruce.)
Danny claps to get everyone’s attention, the squabbling and banter finally stopping.
“Does everyone have their luggage?” Danny asks. “I know we can easily replace any clothes and essentials, but I know for fact that some of you went behind my back and packed your costumes and weapons nevertheless.”
Danny’s gaze heads to Damian and Tim, the latter who doesn’t meet his eyes. Damian just stares at him with a neutral expression. Danny sighs and shakes his head.
“But I guess it’s asking too much to expect a family full of vigilantes to go anywhere without a safety blanket.”
“Not everyone can simply transform Magical Girl style,” Jason snarks.
Danny narrows his eyes.
“We both know you are the one who is the most strapped to hell,” Danny says. “Do you want me to confiscate everything?”
Jason takes it as the warning it is and shuts his mouth. Danny huffs out a breath.
“I thought so,” Danny states. “Then let’s get out here before the paparazzi flocks here. Everyone on social media must know where we are by now.”
The kids fall in line and Danny and Bruce form the final light. Bruce chuckles.
“I never thought I would miss your bossy side,” he says. “You used to nag me constantly.”
Danny raises an eyebrow.
“Are you sure you want to stir that hornets’ nest?”
Bruce laughs as he puts a hand around Danny’s waist as they walk.
“Of course not — it’s more amusing to not be at the end of it.”
“Well Alfred told me quite some interesting stories-“
Bruce leaves his side and quickly hurries with long strides to catch up with his kids. Danny shakes his head with a smile while Alfred looks at him and Bruce with a knowing smirk. I guess some things never change, Danny thinks to himself fondly.
They arrive at their rented penthouse, all of them going to their assigned rooms to sleep off the jet lag until dinner. Danny pulls out something more comfortable to wear from his suitcase when he sees Bruce settled on the balcony, anxiously staring at his phone.
He lets out a sigh, abandoning the clothes as he steps out. He snatches his husband’s phone, ignoring his protests.
“I told you no social media or reading business emails while we are on vacation,” Danny chides. “Clark will be fine. Steph and Barbara stayed behind as well. Stop catastrophizing.”
Danny glances at the news headlines for Gotham, snickering when he sees the prank Jason and him did on Joker. The graffiti almost looks even better than during the night. It had been quite a rush job to make sure they would have enough time until the flight, but somehow they managed. (It might have helped that Danny used some doppelgängers too.)
They are hoping to draw the rogue out of hiding. He’s been suspiciously quiet the last few months.
“I should have known it was you,” Bruce sighs, “Did it have to be on the Wayne Enterprises building?”
Danny shrugs with a fake innocent smile.
“How can I deny our son?”
Bruce shakes his head, but his lips perk up into a fond smile as he hums.
“Our son,” he murmurs. “I quite like that.”
Danny snorts.
“Of course you would,” he teases before shooing the man inside their room again. “Now let’s go take a nap — I know you are tired too, you can’t fool me.”
“I changed my mind,” Bruce banters. “I don’t like your bossy side.”
“Too late,” Danny says as he pushes him onto the bed, caging the man inside his arms as he smiles.
His core purrs under his chest as Bruce looks at him with obvious adoration. He leans down and kisses the man, sleep quickly forgotten.
Danny sits down on the pier next to Damian who has his knees tucked under his chin.
“Not enjoying the vacation?” Danny asks softly.
Damian doesn’t really react to hearing his voice other than his eyebrows crinkling and Danny has to hold back a coo at the sight of it — he could never be angry at Damian despite what Ra’s did, the boy was just too much like his father. He hums, contemplating if he should give the boy space or push through his obvious discomfort.
He decides to do the former — Danny doesn’t know the boy long enough to truly understand him. While he might act similar to Bruce, there is no 28 year old relationship between them. No unbroken trust. He also has a feeling that Damian would find it patronizing if he treated him a child — no matter that he is one. (And how much anger Danny feels at the fact that he grew up having no real childhood.)
He moves to stand but before he can Damian catches his wrist. Danny freezes, but the boy still doesn’t look him in the eyes as he obviously tries to collect himself.
“Aren’t you angry?” Damian questions. “At what Mother and Grandfather did? At me?”
“I’m angry about a lot of things,” Danny says, keeping his voice calm. “You’ll have to specify on what.”
Damian frowns, dropping his wrist as he pulls his legs even closer.
“I should have never existed,” he says, voice monotone. “How can I call myself the heir of Father’s mantle, when, if it weren’t for Grandfather’s meddling, I would have never been created?”
Danny takes a deep breath, suppressing the rage welling up in him.
“I know for a fact that your father never regretted taking you in,” Danny says. “He always wanted biological children — yes what your grandfather did was despicable, but you know that Bruce doesn’t blame you, right?”
Damian gulps audibly.
“Why wouldn’t he regret it?” he questions. “I’m feral, angry and violent. I can’t read social cues and I don’t trust people. I treated Drake and the rest horribly…” His voice breaks. “I’d rather call people by their surnames than admit that they are important to me.”
“You didn’t call me by my surname,” Danny interjects gently.
Damian finally looks up, struggling to keep his composure and the expression in his eyes is something Danny is way too familiar with. He lets out a sigh as he projects his movements, giving Damian enough time to draw back if he doesn’t want to be touched. When he doesn’t even twitch, Danny crouches down and tucks his head into his chest.
“You don’t have to feel guilty,” Danny soothes as the boy breaks down. “No matter what you think you did, I forgive you.”
Damian clutches Danny’s shirt — for the first actually crying and letting it all out.
“He cried himself out,” Danny whispers as he leans at the door frame, looking at Bruce who strokes through the boy’s hair, where he is settled on their bed. Bruce trembles with barely suppressed fury.
“I should have confronted Ra’s and Talia when I took him in.”
Danny sighs as he crosses his arms.
“You know that wouldn’t have changed a thing,” he says, walking over to the man and Damian, rubbing Bruce’s shoulder. “Damian would have taken it as an attack on his honor.”
“Then after this vacation-” Bruce's voice rises.
“Bruce,” Bruce closes his mouth at Danny’s tone. “He has made so much progress. Do you really want to set him back?”
Bruce presses his lips together.
“You can accompany him if he wants to do it himself,” Danny adds. “But what he really needs right now is you.”
Bruce lets out a heavy sigh.
“I know,” he accepts. “It's just not fair” He squeezes his eyes close. “Not only did they take away the chance of having my first biological child, but they didn’t even tell me about him until it was almost too late. I never saw his first steps. I never heard his first words. I never held him in my arms when he was a baby.”
Bruce balls his left hand into a fist, gritting his teeth. Danny takes his hand, slowly prying it open and holding it before he can hurt himself, carefully brushing over crescent shaped indents.
“You saw him making friends for the first time. You heard his first real, happy laugh. You held him, showing him that touch can be something other than violence,” Danny counters. “We can always make new memories.”
Bruce turns, hugging his stomach as he buries his head in it.
“What did I do without you for 22 years?” the man asks and Danny chuckles, blinking back tears.
“I wonder the same.”
They are relaxing on the beach loungers watching over the rest of their family goofing off in the water, splashing each other as they laugh when Danny gets the alert. He frowns as he looks at the contents. Instantly Bruce notices, looking away from Damian who for once also participates — him and Tim teaming up against the rest — knitting his eyebrows together.
“What’s wrong?”
Danny sighs before he forces a smile on his lips.
“Kingly duty calls,” he lies. “I’ll try to be quick.”
He gives Bruce a quick peck on his lips before he opens a portal, disappearing in it.
It’s only later that the rest of the family realizes that Jason disappeared after he excused himself to get himself a cold glass of water too.
Both of them only return a day later, covered in blood.
Bruce’s hands had shook when he saw them, trembling over their forms when he checked them for any injuries. It was only when Danny gave him a smile that he relaxed.
“It’s not either of our blood,” Danny explains, “Or did you forget that both our blood is contaminated by ectoplasm?”
He grasps Bruce’s both hands, settling one of them over his heart and the other over Jason’s — who surprisingly doesn’t even protest.
“We are fine, Bruce.”
Bruce still clutches both of them close. (He knows what they did, but the only important thing to him is that they are safe.)
“Group hug!” Dick exclaims and runs up to them, quickly forming a cuddle pile as the rest join.
Danny ruffles Damian’s hair when the boy leans against him. Yes, they are safe. (And nobody will be able to change that — Danny will make sure of it.)

MCU: Imagine Thor and Loki both falling in love with you, a stable girl in Asgard who looks after their horses.
requested by anon
Note: nowadays all requests are done straight to asks, this is my old template of posting and I no longer have their asks!
Note 2: Please remember that this is the closest to poly relationships I'm comfortable to go, I know this isn't actually poly but it's still a romantic-ish fic where two men are in love with you, even when it's left ambigious whether you feel the same way for either of them.
Note 3: I used a Valkyrie name generator for the horse names (except for Sleipnir, which is the actual horse of Odin), as it was the only one with old Norse names that sound mythical.
TWO PRINCES AND A STABLEGIRL
When you were first assigned to look after the horses of Asgard’s elite, nobody really expected anything truly special. But you ended up proving yourself and more, quickly becoming known as a natural horse whisperer, even getting Sleipnir to calm down, lean to your touch, trust you. It was near a miracle really, and you were truly a gift to the stables.
And, you managed to catch the attention of the two princes of Asgard, without even trying or catching on at first why they suddenly started to come to the stables so much more often, competing for your attention.
“Good morning, my fair stablemaid,” Thor’s voice broke the silence, and you glanced at him with a soft smile. “May I help you today with one of your tasks?”
Before you could answer, Loki snorted from behind him. “Oh, by the Nine, that flirt was painful to hear.”
Thor’s cheeks turned pink. “I didn’t try to flirt, I was being a gentleman,” he growled and nodded. “Loki.”
Loki clicked his tongue. “Brother,” he greeted with a slight scowl, and bowed to you slightly, his scowl turning into a smile, a charming one — at least in his mind. “You really would earn a title in the palace, rather than here, surrounded by manure.”
You just continued brushing Frialna without answering, you knew what answering would lead to and you did not have patience for that. You could upkeep a discussion with one of them, but trying to participate in a conversation with them both would be a doomed mission.
“She’s taken the role of Goddess of Silent Treatment again,” Loki sighed dramatically.
Thor scoffed. “She has no time to listen to your silver-tongued nonsense.”
Loki glared at him. “Nor she has time for your bull-headed courtship either. You behave like an ox in a rut.”
You still remained quiet, moving to pick up a feed sack.
“Tell me,” Loki started, taking a step towards you. “Do you prefer stallions or fools who pretend to be stallions?”
“I am right here,” Thor muttered.
Loki snorted. “I know, everyone does within five miles around us.”
“I came here to help her,” Thor retorted, stepping next to Loki again. “And you came here to distract her and slowing her down.”
Loki laughed. “You came to help? No, you came here like a rooster with all of his feathers puffed out, trying to look big and intimidating with your muscles.”
“I did not—”
“Cut it off!” you suddenly interrupted them, your voice booming around the stable yard. “You’re making the horses nervous. If you want to bicker about me, you can go do it somewhere else. Royal gardens are a good place at least, right that way. Or, you can help me and let out that steam you clearly have bottled up. There’s plenty of stalls needing shovelling manure and change of fresh hay, I will deal with the horses themselves.”
Loki looked disgusted at the idea, while Thor looked a little too into it and exclaimed, “I will do all the heavy lifting for you, my lady.”
Loki rolled his eyes. “Fine. But I draw the line on muck.”
You didn’t look at them when you laid the feed sack down. “Nope, you will sign up to all of it or none of it.”
Loki muttered something under his breath, but you heard the creak of the pitchfork being picked up from the rack.
Thor leaned towards his brother with a smirk. “She likes me more.”
“She told you to shut up.”
“She told you to shut up.”
“I wasn’t called an ox in a rut.”
“I— that was your line, not hers!”
You sighed loudly, making them both freeze and turn to you. “The stalls won’t clean themselves. Chop chop, or you get a one-way ticket to royal gardens.”
“Yes, my lady,” they both said in unison, and disappeared into two different stalls.
Peace. For a moment, at least.
But then Loki muttered, “I’d say she likes me more.”
Thor grumbled. “If you won’t shut up, I will throw you head first into that muck you’re so disgusted about.”
You rolled your eyes, but couldn’t hold back a small smile anyway and let yourself feel your ears secretly burning. Not every Asgardian girl could say she had both of Odin’s sons head over heels herself.

I'm involved in a Stanley Reblog Chain and put effort into these drawings so I'll post them here too.

[The other characters belong to insomniphic / beartitled / and marionette-j2x]
[Just me rambling underneath!] ↓
Tumblr has a tag limit and it grates my nerves to no end to know that I can't ramble as much as I'd like to...
Stanley and the bad bitch he pulled by being a loser. Imagine having a hot babe deform reality just to be together with you because he sensed you were feeling lonely without him. [WHEN IS IT MY TURN?!]
It's funny because with the general vibe of their AU, it would make sense for him to show up in the most flashy but also unnerving way possible. The Narrator's [Black's] arrival has to grab people's eyes since attention and views are what he's all about.
I wasn't sure what type of characterization they had so I just played it safe and [tried to] draw how my characters would respond instead of blindly guessing how the others would talk or act around each other. [My Stanley is antisocial and an anxiety-ridden freak.]
Also, I've been wondering what their height differences actually were when I saw my Stanley have to look up at Marionette's Narrator [since this guy is pretty damn tall] so I did a bit of digging and this was what I found.
I had a lot of fun making this by the way. It's been a while since I've participated in any Reblog Chains that involved character interactions and making comics, so it's a real throwback to when I first started posting TSP art in 2023.
Stanley here is an absolute social shutoff teehee, but he does talk back when talked to. His responses usually leave no openings to continue the conversation though. He's the type of guy to stay on the corner and watch everyone else.
As for the Narrator [Black] he's a bit strange. He's proper in public, but he doesn't think the other people are special [or not as special as he is at least]. He just doesn't care to be honest, he keeps to himself [along with Stanley] and that's it. It's a miracle for Stanley to have even pulled somebody like Black considering their personalities are the type to clash with one another. [They love each other though, genuinely. Despite how deranged they can be towards each other sometimes, that development took a long time to be nurtured into something healthier for those two.]
Also, 4th wall breaking in action!!!!!!!!!!!
Black didn't want to interrupt this comic since it was made for Stanley but after the other three came in he lost reservations and came in as well.
[Copy and Pasting the tags of my other post because I am NOT re-writing all of this...]
These two would probably just stay in their own spot [somewhere quiet and more alone]. This place is a bit too crowded for their liking. But I would be very happy to jump on any opportunity to make my guys interact with the others!!!!! Don't be afraid to throw a bone [prompt] for me to bite on, okay?
