The new one, where Wu isn't the one who found them

aaaaaaaa okay okay!

Basically, (as some context) there is a secret organization called the Golden Order who believe they were chosen by the [REDACTED] to protect [REDACTED] from its destruction.

Because of this "destiny" of theirs, they would be willing to do anything and everything it takes to save [REDACTED].

They also believe in the theory that [REDACTED] was created (mostly) with the elements fire, earth, ice, and lightning. Hence the belief that those four elements are theoretically the most powerful weapons against [REDACTED].

So if the Golden Order could harness these elements, they could essentially put a stop to any darkness that threatens their world, and possibly others.

However, when this idea was presented to the [REDACTED] and the children of the [REDACTED] after the events of the [REDACTED], they were entirely against the Order's idea, as the [REDACTED] considered their methods unethical and corrupt.

After that, the Golden Order seemingly disbanded, and the [REDACTED] never gave them a second thought.

Unbeknownst to them, the Golden Order hadn't gone anywhere, and had started researching the [REDACTED]'s lineage, and what made one more susceptible to inheriting the trait for [REDACTED] abilities.

As I said, the Golden Order were willing to do anything and everything to save [REDACTED], and believing that the [REDACTED] were pompous idiots who didn't understand destiny for what it truly was, they went forward with their plans, deciding to instead work with the next generation.

This led to the abductions of four young children, [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED],and [REDACTED].

Why these four?

They were the next line of [REDACTED] for Earth, Ice, Lightning, and Fire.

Of course, their [REDACTED] tried to find [REDACTED].

They were taken out before they could cause any problems for the Order's cause.

The children's entire identities were changed, replacing their names with C1-E, Z2-I, J3-L, and K4-F.

The easiest way to describe what these four endure thanks to the Golden Order is hell, with constant experimentation and rigorous testing.

They only have one another, seeing each other as family, as brothers even, down in this darkness they were forced to survive in.

And yeah, that's basically it!

Kirisame Print Shop Journal - Mystery of the West Mountain, Part 1: “The Ten Elixir Tavern”

Suggested Setting Context: Clash Royale’s Ten Elixir Tavern, which is about to be visited by numerous Touhou characters led by Marisa Kirisame

Your Role: You are (Y/N), someone (a character of your choice) who asked to join Marisa Kirisame’s party as they started to investigate an anomalous mountain on the far west end of Gensokyo, possibly to resolve an incident. Unfortunately, nobody- not even you- had a plan on where to start first, and nothing got done today. Everyone, including you, is starving, but the day’s already over and you suggest just going home. However, your group has other plans and you’re stuck going with them.

Marisa - Our group was fast in flying towards the mountain that they didn’t even bother to read the road signs. By then, it’s already nightfall and we really just need a place to get some food before we headed back. Youkai jumping us wasn’t the problem here since we could overpower them easily with everyone’s collective danmaku; it was trying to get a group this large back home without bickering over our limited rations. So… yeah, everyone got lost and now they’re hungry. Rei, being the only one who scouted the range so far, suggested that we try some tavern she saw at the base of the foothills as we prepared to end our investigation for the day. Reimu didn’t have any better ideas, and we could always just pitch in for the bill however we could, so we all just waltzed right in. Once inside, it looked like some kind of medieval-era building with limited modern technologies, but ain’t that basically the Gensokyo way? The only difference was that this was clearly western-styled compared to the stuff we normally see in our eastern wonderland. That’s when we ran into our first problem. Everyone seemed busy, so we asked the last guy that joined us to make the call…

Materials -4mm circular needles -4mm double-pointed needles -Stitch marker -Main colour yarn (100g DK, shown here in King Cole Riot DK, colour way ‘Cool’) -Contrast colour yarn (about 20g DK, shown here in some unlabeled light yellow) -Tapestry/yarn needle for seaming -Small amount of stuffing for eyeballs and octopus body

Abbreviations St(s) = Stitch(es) CO = Cast on K = knit P = purl Inc = Increase by your preferred method K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together P2tog = Purl 2 stitches together MB = Make Bobble – K stitch in contrast colour, turn, increase st to 3 sts, turn, K3tog, slide back onto left needle, K in main colour

Pattern notes The hat, tentacles and ‘body’ is worked in seed stitch. This is a stitch where there first row is worked as K1P1, the following row is worked as P1K1, essentially you K your P stitches and P your K stitches to create a tightly woven reversible bumpy fabric. (Google it for tutorials etc)

Throughout the pattern you will have to increase and decrease the number of stitches. Try to increase/decrease in the K1P1 pattern as best you can – you will end up with two K/P sts next to each other, but that fine, in the next increase/decrease you will be back to K1P1 the whole way round.

Gauge 6sts by 6 rows per inch in seed stitch

Tentacles (top side) make 8 For the tentacles, you work each tentacle flat and then cut the yarn at the end and leave sts on a spare needle to be used for the bottom edge of the hat.

Assembly Sew tentacle bottom sides underneath the tentacle top sides (see photo), making sure to pull thread tight to encourage the tentacles to curl. Sew octopus body onto the back of the hat, I lined up the CO edge of the body at the start of the decreases, then pulled and tacked a few of the body sts onto the top of the crown to emphasise the bulb like shape. Stuff very lightly, again to emphasis it’s shape. Attach eyeballs to hat (use photo as a guide) then partially cover these with the eyelids (again see photo).

first little oc canon universe infodump thingy, with centaur tack and equipment... tldr autism went mad with horse stuff weeehooo

as a big ol' horsey fan the first thing i thought of was "what kind of tack and equipment would they have?" and here i am, with our first two showing a traditional English and Western set up based of irl styles and brands. I altered some of the terms since the "bridle" does onto the torso and not the head, so browbands and nosebands are swapped to chestbands and waistbands but the overall structure and namesake is the same. just kind of like a bridle crossed with a camera harness used by filmographers. Bits work the same with instead sitting as a joint with the cheekpeice and reins instead of a bar across the mouth. Their strength and specialities is much the same as in our world. anyway here is a annoyingly specific description of their shit which i shall painfully list here for my own autistic amusement. Also noted thank uuu to MlleNugget for the help with western tack accuracy as i have limited experience with them irl and they super-helped make my design logical!!

Woo hoo! NJ Transit 40th Anniversary Weekend Extravaganza!

Pay your engineers and give them a contract.

Okay, now that that's out of the way...

This weekend I got to spend some time with my dad aboard NJT's 40th Anniversary Express, a special train they put together in conjunction with the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey to commemorate 40 years of NJT's rail service. Normally I'd have just been content to watch, but they hooked me with a GG1 reference so naturally I had to go because I will do anything for a GG1.

The URHS of NJ loaned the Hickory Creek out for the event, along with a few other passenger cars they own. It was weird to see it at Penn Station instead of in Grand Central Terminal, but they still rolled out the red carpet for it as if it was attached to the 20th Century Limited. (This is where we get the phrase "red carpet treatment" from, by the way. It has nothing to do with Hollywood and everything to do with one crack passenger express train.)

I did not ride in the Hickory Creek itself because I do not have that sort of money, but Dad and I were in the Tavern Lounge No. 43, another New York Central car. It was a lovely ride.

The highlight of the trip was in South Amboy. Historically, electrification of the North Jersey Coast Line ended here. Today, it ends in Long Branch. Here's where the GG1s come in. There would be an engine change at South Amboy. The GG1s, electric locomotives, would be switched out for other locomotives to go further south. It was steam at first, and sadly became diesel later. Yesterday, they recreated this engine switch for us, complete with an NJT heritage unit painted to look like a GG1. This is the closest I'll likely get to seeing one running within my lifetime, so I'll cherish it.

The engine change. NJT 4636 stood in for my beloved GG1s, and two of the first locomotives built for NJ Transit, a pair of F40-PH2s (4119 and 4120), took over. You rarely see the latter in passenger service these days because they usually pull work trains, but they're the last two members of their class in NJT service.

Much to everyone's delight, we got to watch some brakeman work in action, because they manually flipped the switches. Note the heavy-duty gloves the conductor is wearing for this purpose.

All clear!

Once the locomotives were swapped, we all boarded again and went on down to Bay Head. Since it was cold and rainy out, a few of us had some hot chocolate, which hit the spot and was incredibly wonderful.

Eventually, we made it to Bay Head. This is how I found out the president of NJ Transit was on the train with us, because the NJT engineers are ready to strike because there's no contract right now, and a group of them were protesting down at Bay Head because they knew he'd have to see them. Excellent move.

At Bay Head, we got to go around the loop in Bay Head Yard, something passengers don't normally get to do.

So we had views that most people don't get to have, and that was really cool.

At Bay Head, they fed us and gave us NJT swag. There were also some vintage buses from Public Service there, which was great because nobody stopped me from getting into the driver's seat of them.

My right hand is on the gearshift in this photo - it was huge and came out of the floor. Neither bus had power steering - that's a relatively new feature in motor vehicles.

I can and will attempt to drive anything.

Back to trains - after lunch, everyone got back aboard and the 40th Anniversary Express made its way back up north to Newark Penn Station. Whilst we were at Newark, we were allowed to get out and take some photos, so I investigated the staff car and was delighted to see that it had a conference table with a PRR K4 pictured above it.

You know me, I love my 4-6-2 Pacifics.

Eventually, the train came into Hoboken Terminal, and that was the end of day one.

Today, the entire heritage fleet was on display at Hoboken Terminal, so I made my way back for more photos.

I love GG1s and wanted to thank my new friend for giving me the opportunity to come so close to that experience yesterday.

4101 and 4109 are the surviving sisters of NJT 4100, a locomotive I'm rather attached to. It was nice to get good photos of them instead of the ones I usually have to snap through the window when I'm actually out on the rails!

Erie-Lackawanna 3372 is a labor of love for the URHS of NJ. They've done a beautiful job restoring her so far, but there's still a lot of work left to do.

The thing that really did me in was this old Pennsy diesel here, an E8A numbered 5711. She's in incredible condition for something built in 1952, and they had a cast of an old Penn Station eagle next to her, too, just to break my heart into a million pieces because I'll never be over what happened to Penn Station.

In all, I had an amazing weekend, and NJT and the URHS of NJ knocked it out of the park with this. It was just wonderful to be surrounded by other railfans for a couple of days.

Some other highlights:

Talked about trains the entire ride with the folks in our car. At one point we all got to sharing cat photos. An older couple had a cat named Lake, short for Lake Shore Limited. I cannot tell you how much that delighted me.

I love being around other railfans. It's one of the rare places I can be myself, since there's inevitably going to be a lot of other autistic people there besides me so I don't have to mask. I cannot even begin to articulate what it means to me to be in a place where I don't have to mask.

The hobby has actually changed a lot since I was a little kid - and in a good way. I wasn't the only woman there, for one. I was still greatly outnumbered gender-wise, but there are a lot more women in the hobby now, and it's also a lot more racially diverse than it was back then. Additionally, I saw a LOT of young people - it's going strong! It doesn't feel like it's being gatekept by the old white men anymore. It's really wonderful. Trains are for everyone. They always were, but now you can visibly see it.

When we were on the platform at South Amboy getting set up to take photos, someone yelled "Everybody smile!" behind me and I nearly died. Because, you know:

Whoever you are, give me your phone number.

As a final addendum, of course I brought them with me, as per usual when I go out to do railroading stuff. Here they are seated in Tavern Lounge 43!

This was just an absolute banger of a weekend and I hope more events like this happen because it's so fun to engage with history hands-on and see other people who care about it as much as you do. It's the best! Perfect!

Natikah

Introduction to Natikah

The first image is a geographical map of the planet's landmasses and structures. Please keep in note that this is an old and outdated version of the map and some of the names aren't official, and some of the mountains aren't on the climate maps or vice versa. This is only to tell you some of the continent names.

The last two images are the climate maps, with the last one being without the current lines

Natikah is the second planet from it's sun and is slightly larger and different than Earth. They both have prograde orbits, but Natikah has a axial tilt of 39 degrees, which means that it will be always be day during the summer, and it will always be night during the winter in northern temperate and polar continents like Sanland or Talyke. I'm not sure about the southern continents though, I gotta run the simulation again some time.

Natikah also has two moons, called Zixarin and Altas, which slow down the planet's rotational period to 30 Earth hours a day. The two have been believed to be formed by a catastrophic collision between Natikah and a protoplanet billions of years ago during it's formation, similar to the Theia Hypothesis.

Zixarin is the more closer and prominent moon to the planet. During certain periods of time, and because of the planet's slightly eccentric axial tilt, Zixarin would appear in the sky during the day, and would even "eclipse" the sun. Altas, however, is more further from the planet. In reality though, Zixarin and Altas are like slightly the same size as each other, with Zixarin being slightly larger than Altas.

As I've mentioned before, Natikah is the second most planet from it's star in the Xyke System, which orbits around a K4 variable star, which means that Natikah's sun is more cooler and more orange than our sun. Natikah has a slightly more faster orbital period around it's sun than ours, one Natikah year more shorter, around 255.688 Earth days.

Biosphere and Atmosphere makeup

Natikah is more warmer and has more oxygen in the atmosphere, to better accommodate with the animals which have cobalt-carrying blood. It is also noted that the plants on here are carriers of the pigment Phycoethryn, which makes the leaves on the plants a brownish-red color.

Here is a sneak peak into the biosphere of the planet:

In the tropical savannas of Zogha, a herd of animals filling in the fast-running grazer niche (haven't decided a name for them yet) grazes in the tall grass in the dry season.

They both have prograde orbits, but Natikah has a axial tilt of 39 degrees, which means that it will be always be day during the summer, and it will always be night during the winter in northern temperate and polar continents like Sanland or Talyke. I'm not sure about the southern continents though, I gotta run the simulation again some time.

Natikah also has two moons, called Zixarin and Altas, which slow down the planet's rotational period to 30 Earth hours a day. The two have been believed to be formed by a catastrophic collision between Natikah and a protoplanet billions of years ago during it's formation, similar to the Theia Hypothesis.

Zixarin is the more closer and prominent moon to the planet. During certain periods of time, and because of the planet's slightly eccentric axial tilt, Zixarin would appear in the sky during the day, and would even "eclipse" the sun. Altas, however, is more further from the planet. In reality though, Zixarin and Altas are like slightly the same size as each other, with Zixarin being slightly larger than Altas.

As I've mentioned before, Natikah is the second most planet from it's star in the Xyke System, which orbits around a K4 variable star, which means that Natikah's sun is more cooler and more orange than our sun. Natikah has a slightly more faster orbital period around it's sun than ours, one Natikah year more shorter, around 255.688 Earth days.

Biosphere and Atmosphere makeup

Natikah is more warmer and has more oxygen in the atmosphere, to better accommodate with the animals which have cobalt-carrying blood. It is also noted that the plants on here are carriers of the pigment Phycoethryn, which makes the leaves on the plants a brownish-red color.

In the tropical savannas of Zogha, a herd of animals filling in the fast-running grazer niche (haven't decided a name for them yet) grazes in the tall grass in the dry season.

Since Burst has finally ended for both TT and Hasbro (I had this sitting in my drafts ever since we speculated Sparking was the last season), and Hasbro’s been bad since Turbo, I decided to do a “what if?” Specifically, “what if Hasbro exclusives were released by TT and had gimmicks?” (note this is the irl equivalent of headcanons and nothing I say is factually true)

Putting the rest under the cut because it’s long (it’s every Hasbro-exclusive in all of Burst plus images)

Diomedes D2 Triple Accel: Dire Diomedes Triple Accel. Triple and Accel are parts TT has already released and the only exclusive part is the layer. Other than using a semi-transparent green (like with Kerbeus or Yggdrasil), TT’s version is basically unchanged since it’s a dual layer

Hyrus H2 Yell Needle: Horn Hyrus Yell Needle. Again, the disc and driver already exist. Being a dual layer, it doesn’t have many changes made to it other than the center being transparent (like all TT dual layers minus Xcalibur). The green parts that stick out are metal, meant to add weight to the layer like Lost Longinus

Istros I2 Upper Survive: Island Istros Upper Survive. The layer layer only has slight color changes (like all dual layers). Like most dual layers, it doesn’t have a complex gimmick that Hasbro would remove (plus Hasbro didn’t really change the dual layers). Upper and Survive already exist in TT

Orpheus O2 Armed Defense: Orchestra Orpheus Armed Defense has 2 circles on the bottom corners that are rollers (like Kreis Satan but their positioning is different)

Surtr S2 Spread Quake: Scorch Surtr Spread Quake. It doesn’t have a gimmick (other than Quake) so the only other changes are to the coloring, like the flames being gradients instead of solid colors

Tyros T2 Infinity Zephyr: Thunder Tyros Infinity Zephyr has slightly different coloring. Like most dual layers, no major changes

Asteroid Zeutron Z3 4Meteor Revolve: Asteroid Zeus 4Meteor Revolve. The 3 dots in the center are metal (being a Cho-Z bey). The level chip slot is in one of the black triangles. TT keeps the rest of the parts the same. Other than that, slight coloring changes

Tide Treptune T3 8Bump Edge: Tide Trident 8Bump Edge (alliterative names didn’t go away after dual layers, like Judgement Joker). The gimmick is virtually the same as Screw Trident and the level chip slot is at the hilt of the trident. Being a Cho-Z bey, it has metal on the trident (specifically the red middle part)

Balar B4 6 Spiral-S: Rush Balar 6 Spiral features metal on the silver horns (not the ram face in the center). The rest of the parts stay the same (other than it using a regular Spiral’ instead of Spiral-S)

Cyclops C4 5 Flugel-S: Savage Cyclops 5 Flugel. The gold on the outer section is metal (but the gold on the face isn’t)

Dullahan D4 7 Tower-S: Riding Dullahan 7 Tower’ features metal on the 4 blades (where Hasbro used metallic paint)

Kraken K4 11 Prevail-S: Ocean Kraken 11 Prevail has metal on the 2 anchors on the layer. The driver is unique though, as it is the first Hasbro-exclusive part in this post to not be a layer. The Prevail driver is a free-spinning sharp tip (akin to Gyro) with a free-spinning ring around it (like Never or Destroy). Essentially, it’s 2 free-spinning parts in one. The whole driver is similar to Universe, but sharp instead of round and with a smaller ring

Morrigna M4 2 Loop-S: Night Morrigna 2 Loop has metal on the layer. Specifically, the silver crow in the center

Ogre O4 1 Jaggy-S: Cave Ogre 1 Jaggy’ has metal on the silver parts of the layer

Rudr R4 12 Fusion-S: Arrow Rudr 12 Fusion’ features metal on the layer, as well as a bound gimmick. Each of the arrows is on top of a blue wings is metal. Each blue wing is spring-loaded and will be pushed back when hit, cushioning the attack

Sphinx S2 6 Accel-S: Desert Sphinx 6 Accel’ features metal on the layer and an expanding gimmick similar to Shelter Regulus. At high speeds, the wings pop out like in the image, but when its spin starts to lower, they retract slightly revealing the metal contact points

Typhon T4 4 Defense-S: Deep Typhon 4 Defense features metal on the layer and a partial free-spin gimmick. The outer ring can rotate 90 degrees in each direction, giving it a total of 180 degrees of movement. This allows for it to act like a free-spinning layer at parts of the match, and like a solid layer at other points

Poison Cyclops C5 Knuckle Guardian-H: Poison Cyclops Knuckle Guard Zan uses the poison base from Poison Cobra (with the rubber shock-absorption gimmick). The Cyclops chip has average teeth

Viper Hydrax H5 Python Coil-H: Viper Typhon Python Coil Ten is an evolution to Deep Typhon (Hasbro confirmed it was originally meant to be Viper Typhon). This bey features several gimmicks. The Typhon chip is left-spin. The Viper base has rubber on 2 of its blades (the ones without the gold). The rubber allows it to spin steal or act like offensive blades (akin to Judgement) depending on the opponent’s spin direction. The blades with gold are plastic, but the gold itself is metal. The Python disc features a metal center, with a rubber coating and the rubber is surrounded by plastic. This allows for shock absorption like Screw Trident or the Poison base. The Coil driver is spring-loaded, just like Nothing and Absorb, albeit with a ball shape. However, it also had a spring-loaded outer ring, like Kick

Shield Kerbeus K5 Infinity Linear-H: Shield Kerbeus Infinity Liner’ Ten has metal on the base (the chains) and a bound gimmick. The bound gimmick is in the green plastic blades between the fixed metal chains, and each blade can be pushed inwards like Hazard Kerbeus’s chains. The Kerbeus chip has the same teeth as the Kaiser Kerbeus layer. The Infinity disc, Liner driver, and Ten weight are all reused parts (but Liner now has a stronger spring)

Cosmic Kraken K5 Lore Valor-H: Cosmo Kraken Lore Valor Ten uses the standard Cosmo base and Ten weight. The Kraken chip has teeth comparable to that of Ashura. The Lore disc features a mode change like Convert. In 6 blade mode the weight is evenly distributed amongst 6 points. In 2 blade mode, the 6 points are shifted so 3 are stacked together, causing the weight to be evenly distributed amongst 2 points. Alice - I have a question for you about the incident, considering the circumstance in which you’re running this tavern on a mountain that seemingly appeared from nowhere.

Jackson - About the Ten Elixir Tavern? What piques your curiosity?

Alice - How did you and this establishment- a possibly western medieval-styled tavern become involved with the West Mountain?

Jackson - You must be wondering about our story. Ahem.

(200X) It all started with the construction of the building within the borders of the Royale Districts of the Clash Kingdoms. Back then, it was being funded and managed by representatives of the Royale Parliament as a place where people of all kinds can crash in for food, drink, and friends. Business was booming. Food was wonderful and wonderfully cheap, and elixir flowed freely and kept the masses merry. I should know; I worked my way up to being the head cook and Royale headsman of this tavern!

(November 2023) And then it all changed last year when someone else entered the building one night… a Little Prince. He started by snagging a drink from one of our patron Barbarians, causing minor unrest amongst everyone else. But once he caught sight of the recruit with an important document, that’s when he pulls out the crossbow and sends arrows EVERYWHERE. Bar brawls fueled by Rage Spells escalated. Several Goblins had their karaoke night ruined when the speakers and microphones had their cables sheared in the crossfire. Everyone was just about to descend on him when another knight came charging through, sending patrons, tables, and staff flying everywhere. That was the Little Prince’s Guardian. They left with the document and left the place in shambles.

Aya - Ayayayayaya… that sounds rough. How did this not make the local paper?

Jackson - Oh, it did. Front page headlines, even. The Little Prince in question got away with the document and was made a Champion in the Arenas. But that’s not where the story ends. We rebuilt from nothing and assembled a team of outcasts amongst troops to give rude hotshots a wakeup call as fellow challengers in the Arena. That all started once the Ten Elixir Tavern’s land was sold off.

(November 2023) You see, after that little incident, Parliament decided to sell the tavern’s rubble and green space off to the highest bidder, where the buyer can run the place however the heck they wanted. For a few hundred thousand gold coins, this place was bought out by a man who we all know now as Jerry. You see, Jerry was a Hunter. Stout guy with really bushy eyebrows, a mustache that could put many others to shame, and a trusty shotgun. He could take out ten skeletons with one shot from a safe distance, knock an Inferno Dragon outta the sky with a couple bursts at point blank range, and even deal nasty blows to adversaries who armed themselves with shields. No Wizard ever survives an encounter with him in melee range. He made his living by pursuing bounties and big game while also becoming a sort of dark horse of the Royale Arena who people always overlook in favor of Musketeers and Mini P.E.K.K.As, although his time working in the village eventually damaged his hearing from consistent use of their firecracker-based Air Defenses. The sounds of Firecrackers’ rockets and the echoes of nearby Hog Riders only anger him more because they’re just that loud.

I was his first employee after the building was rebuilt. A headsman from Spooky Town with a love for cooking and gardening who could also use a double-sided axe as a boomerang. Me and another fellow Executioner from another land even exchanged recipes, where he gave me one for deep-fried chicken. The hood stays on at all times because I don’t want people to see the accident I did to my own face a decade ago trying to shave after a beard after a month-long dare where I couldn’t shave.

Using his nest egg in the form of an Overflowing Gold Crate, Jerry hired Henderson and Philip- a Builder and an Apprentice from his home village respectively- to fund the reconstruction of the Ten Elixir Tavern. Philip was retained with the tavern after reconstruction work with the presentation of a part-time job offer as a mechanic for some of our machinery. Turns out he’s a good shot with a Spell Launcher. After a few modifications made from a TH-16/IV prototype and a Freeze Trap purchased from an apprentice Wizard, Philip made it work fast enough to supply all kinds of Spells on demand for the Royale Arena. We’ve consistently made good use it to throw flasks of Freeze Spell at our opponents in the Arena to halt dangerous advances, and to deal with rowdy crooks who try to pull a fast one in our tavern.

Jackson - There’s a few other people that joined our staff line over the months, but that’s for another time and place. As to how we ended up on the West Mountain…

(2017) Seven years ago, way back when the tavern was still Parliament-operated, I often hosted everyone who’s now on my staff roster to a dinner here as part of our weekly “Ten Elixir Therapy Circle” where anyone could drop in and talk out their misfortunes. During one of these sessions, we had a newcomer. Her name was… Helen. A nine-tailed fox in human form, she appeared. Blatantly obvious too, with no intention of hiding it. She had recently been dumped on the altar when a politician from another kingdom named Alfonso bribed Charles- her groom- who then ran off.

(2018) Over the next year or so, she made the trip to our sessions until she announced that she had a new fiancée: a veteran Builder named Samuel. They moved to a vacant plot of land with Jerry and Henderson and invited wandering travelers to settle in and help them start a new village in the kingdom. When they finished the first upgrade on their Town Hall, their wedding day was announced for the village and her homeland to see. Delegates from her home kingdom helped usher in an era of prosperity for both sides… all except Alfonso, who was the only voice of denial at the wedding. Let’s just say… the villagers gave him a good thrashing. I probably could’ve gotten his head too if correspondence from her homeland’s king said otherwise. But ever since August that year, everything on their side went silent.

(July 2022) Fast-forward a few years, and Helen’s doing swell. She regained her confidence back in her home kingdom after uncovering a scheme run by Alfonso to overthrow King Darian DaCacao of his home kingdom, and she even reclaimed the honor in her title as “Captain of the Licorice Watch” …whatever that means. Probably some fancy title equal to Chief over in our kingdom, which actually holds decently high weight in the hierarchy. But guess who showed up again in our tavern? That’s right, Alfonso showed up yet again in a party of three. The same night, Helen was in attendance, and she brought a couple friends over with her: a shepherd from the snowlands named Camellia Jr. with a really hairy ram named Cupcake, and even King Darian DaCacao himself. It turned out that an incident happened in their homeland, since the instant Alfonso started provoking Helen and the elixir we served him, Cupcake went on a rampage through the tavern trying to mow him down. It took the combined efforts of Camellia and a few Ram Riders to calm him down. All that was left behind besides the carnage was a note that said “Your Time Is Coming…” and a line of Royal Recruits and Guards chasing his party to the door, only to get stopped by the purple King himself. In the following months, we received correspondence from another neighboring kingdom that this exact same incident happened in their own tavern, and that we’d be compensated for the damages to save face for Alfonso and Helen’s homeland after that same party of three caused ANOTHER incident elsewhere.

(June 2024) A couple more years after that fiasco, now past the purchase and reconstruction of the tavern, Helen’s declared that she was heading back to her homeland yet again to resolve a plague that was spreading across the land. Days later, a package comes in with a piece of a pocket watch and a rippling voice that said… what was it… “Your efforts… fruitless… RETURN TO FLOUR.” And that’s when the whole place shook itself apart like an earthquake. When we all came to, the building was now on the mountain foot where it is now, and the sky was as crimson and blue as you see it now from this side of the mountain’s boundary. The Clash Kingdom’s Royale District still stood as it was, but when we walked elsewhere… we found ourselves somewhere else! And that’s when we spotted the mountain, as well as the mysteries it held at its peak.

Jackson - In other words, we’ve only been here about 6 months, but we were still able to walk back to where our old tavern was freely. You just gotta follow the road exactly as it’s marked and you’ll enter the Clash Kingdom’s border in no time, but if you stray from the path, you might end up somewhere else in this universe entirely!

Alice - Helen… who was Helen…? Wait… was she the one who asked me to make her a wedding dress? And Alfonso… of course. That revolution scheme two years ago was exactly the same thing we had to deal with as part of the Frost Miko Incidents.

Marisa - That Master Spark I shot at him was SO deserved, ze!

Reimu - Don’t get me started on how many times me, Meiling, and even Shinmyoumaru got a few good kicks, punches, and stabs at him after the trouble he and Seija caused us. I personally want to keep him in an Evil-Sealing Circle for the way he tried to con me out of my pocket money. If I ever see him again, you can bet “Fantasy Nature” is on the list.

Sitting against the door

Hearing her mom and stepdad argue

Blaming herself for no reason

To the girl who started growing up too fast

Who started falling

Who started crying at night

Who isolated

Who failed

Who felt overwhelmed

Who maintained her grades for that 8 year old girl

To the girl who became me

And as I watch the finish line grow near

I keep looking back

Back to the little girl

Who didn’t feel lonely in a crowded room

Who didn’t doubt her parents love

Who didn’t hate what she saw in the mirror

Who wasn’t afraid to trust

Who still had stars in her eyes

Who felt safe

And whole

And I weep

Longing to go back

To experience that peace

To be picked up and held by my mom

To not understand the bad in the world

I can’t hug her either

Be there when she needed love

So that she doesn’t have to feel alone

To be proof we made it through

It's ironic

Because while I’m looking back

Longing to be young

I see her staring back at me

Longing to be a teen

My eyes meet hers

And I blink

She blinks

She smiles

And I smile

And I step away from the mirror

It's time to graduate

(In her I find peace

In me she finds freedom)

Authors note : the parentheses are just a thought that popped into my mind while writing all of this in one go. I don’t know what it means. I know I feel a little bittersweet about graduation. I can’t remember if I wrote this during or before the week of AP tests. The thoughts were brought on by that one tik tok audio of a girl harmonizing with her fan, and people stories to that sound. This is my story I guess.
