idk if i’ve ever posted this before but yk the way on the space whale the past was clear but the future visions were kinda distorted? imagine keith seeing he and lance watching the sunset, hearing snippets of ‘date’ ‘lance who knows exactly who he is’ blah blah blah, getting his hopes up because first of all SUNSET!! EARTH!! then he’s with LANCE!! WATCHING THE SUNSET!! ON EARTH!!! and it sounds like they’re having/planning a DATE!!! so when it actually happens that’s why keith sounds so shocked bc “a date… with allura…???” that’s so not what he thought was happening

Thinking of the lion change again. Mostly about the (lack of) change of armor.

I feel like a lot of people didn't like that keith, lance and allura never changed armors because of how they didn't match with their lions and because they wanted to see them with the colors that correspond to them. Personally, I was never too sad about that because their original colors really suits them and I love them. I was, however, extremely annoyed with the fact that it wasn't used as a character arc about accepting and moving on for keith.

It was so simple. Like, it was right there. Because the whole reason they would't change armors was because of keith, because to him doing so was accepting that shiro was gone and that meant replacing and giving up on him. Also, keith didn't want to be the leader. He told shiro multiple times, he tried to avoid telling the team of shiro's wish, he begged the black lion not to choose him. I would have loved it if, eventually, keith told the team that it was time to change armors, either in s3 as a way to show that he was ready to accept that shiro may be gone but that he could move on and lead the team without necessarily giving up on him, or in s6 (if my memory serves me right) as to show that he had come a long way since s3 and was ready to accept himself as the leader. Because that's the problem in s3 and s4, he never actually accepts himself as the leader. The moment shiro came back he was ready to give the position back to him. Yet when he's back in s6 and someone needs to pilot black, he doesn't hesitate to step up and we see him much more confident in leading the team than he was in s3. That's great, that's growth. The only thing missing was changing. the. fucking. armors.

(that and actually showing keith's growth (yes, I'm extremely annoyed about how the show decided that it was a good idea to have keith grow as a character off camara) )

can i confess something else that will absolutely get me stoned in the town square since im dropping my unpopular opinions. I don’t like altean broadsword Lance. i already disliked red paladin Lance. the broadsword was like rubbing salt in the wound. why couldn’t he have his own niche. why was his character development just making him keith. i understand that it was like “he accepts that he doesn’t have to be a leader and excels as a co-leader and you can find happiness that way yada yada yada”. but you could’ve done that without making him keith. also now give him something unique, cool, that falls in line with his sniper bit. i’m not saying just give him another gun, im saying give him something quiet and lethal. like a garotte. yeah i want garotte lance.

I've been seein a lot of fem klance content the past month or so and discourse over their fem names, so now I have thoughts !!

From what I've seen, it's been pretty widely agreed on that Lance would be Lana, assumably bc of the "Lan" but I also think it's fitin for her !

where i've seen more back and forth is in discussion over Keith's name change w/ the main ones bein Kira, Keira (for the spellin reason), and Kat (allegedly short for Katana, which is hilarious and wonderful)

So now I'm just imaginin Keith bein a total brat about how her name is pronounced

Keira, pronounced kee-AIR-uh which is, oh so slightly different from kira (KEE-rah) with most American accents (thinkin of american accents specifically since that's how they sound in the show 🙄) even when you're enunciatin it, will call ppl out and straight up ask if they're stupid if they keep sayin it wrong

AND THEN Lana, who's been picked on for her own accent in the past, gets mad as hell thinkin Keira is doin the same and takes it personal bc she was just tryna be nice

thus, beginnin the one-sided rivalry where Lana doesn't talk to Keira and explainin why, in the savin Shiro scene, Keira doesn't know Lana's name ‼️💥💥💥

Especially with the galrans bc of the sheer diversity we saw in the show. Zarkon is pretty reptilian, he seems to have little to no fur, rather either armoured plates or thick skin. Meanwhile sendak looks like a fuzzy teddy bear. So probably different environmental pressures? Ik daibazaal is kinda a desert planet but maybe that wasn’t always the case, maybe it’s a consequence of over extracting resources leading to rampant desertification.

1 - I’d say most common galran subspecies would be the desert, reptilian variety, bc if nothing else they’d be the most likely to thrive in the newly desertified daibazaal. Zarkon is pretty tall, but he’s also on some kind of demon time, so I don’t think size is necessarily a defining feature of the desert subspecies. Maybe a bit larger than average? But even then there’s also every likelihood that galra adapting to the desert become smaller to reduce water loss. SO two pathways for the desert subspecies - those who lost their fur, grew armoured hides, and increased in size; and those who became smaller, lighter in colour, and grew larger ears to combat overheating. Maybe sendak could be a mix of this subsubspecies with another? To explain why he has such light fur when many of the galra appear to have overall darker fur.

2 - I don’t think there’d be a coastal variety. So we can just move on from that. Although they could be pushed to inhabit these areas (like jaguars preying on sea turtles coming to lay eggs due to habitat loss limiting their own ranges) I don’t think it would lead to a distinct sub species

3 - though on the topic of jaguars, I do think galra could easily evolve for the tropical or subtropical rainforest biome. Furred, but not overly fluffy (due to high humidity) and I think there’d be a couple additional sub-subspecies here too, to spawn off the many different markings we see. Rosettes, spots, stripes, etc. + countershading (lighter bellies, darker tops) could also come from here? Though that’s kind of just generally advantageous so. I think they’d have very prehensile tails, compared to maybe the tough-hide desert galra, who I think would probably use their tail to store emergency fat reserves over anything else. + the rainforest species would be a bit smaller too and probably largely arboreal

4 - I recognise that alien planets may not have deciduous/coniferous forests as we do but bear with me. Kind of similar to the rainforest ones but they could grow a heavier coat and wouldn’t spend as much time in the canopy. I’m thinking kinda like foxes but without the bushy tail, something sleeker like a cat’s or big cat’s. Larger than the rainforest species but smaller than the larger desert species. Roughly human sized. If rainforest species had the most vibrant coats, then the forest species are just a couple of shades less saturated.

5 - grassland. Short, soft fur, usually striped markings, get a bit taller and larger than the forest variety. Counterhshading is present and they’re again a little less vibrant in colour. I think here would be where the “lion tail” would originate. Good stamina compared to other varieties as they would have the space to chase after prey without crashing into a tree or something

With that out of the way (and not even addressing how this would impact behaviour amongst each group) I think krolia, besides being also part Altean, would be a hybrid forest-grassland galra. And obviously most galrans would have mixed ancestry, like how humans have Neanderthal DNA (but also, thats kinda even crazier than what I’m playing with here for the galra, but anyways) or like how the reticulated giraffe is a true hybrid species of two other varieties of giraffe (northern and southern) so you’d have additional diversity in the mixing and matching of all these traits 👍 yeah
