One of the greatest animated shows ever made.
Here's a damn fine (and I mean damn fine!) solid amount of all the different kinds of media that I like to think both can fit pretty well in and could actually share the same universe as Transformers Prime, its finale TV movie Predacons Rising and a sequel/spin-off I have in mind Insecticons Descending with Arcee and Airachnid as the leads, which you can all of course read and see below for yourself right about here:

• The first three seasons of Max Steel (2013)
• Green Lantern: The Animated Series
• Con Air (1997)
• Ninja Assassin (2009)
• The Remedy Connected Universe (Alan Wake & Control)
• Roadracers (1994)
• From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)
• Curdled (1996)
• Thanksgiving (2023)
• Tales From The Crypt Presents Demon Knight
• R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series (every episode of the entire series except Red Eye, Poof De Fromage, Bad Egg, Mrs. Worthington & Lotsa Luck)
• Trick r Treat (2007)
• The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)
• Krampus (2015)
• Antlers (2021)
• Wildwood (2025)
• The Night Gardener (Upcoming)
• RocknRolla (2008)
• The Invisible Man (2020)
• Nobody (2021)
• The Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy
• The National Treasure Duology
• The Breaking Bad Trilogy
• The Sons Of Anarchy Duology
& even believe it or not
• Oz (HBO Series)

Crashing Into Goodbye - A hypothetical Daria episode Part 1
I've had this concept stuck in my head for a few days now and I wrote a lengthy bit of dialog to go with it, but I have other stuff I need to work on so I wanted to jot it all down and post it to stop hyperfixating on it.
We all know that things never particularly got that bad between Daria and Quinn. The fifth season even addressed the fact that Quinn's terrified of her relationship with Daria turning out to be like the one their mom has with her sisters.
But I wondered about the idea of Daria and Quinn having a legitimately bad fight. Like the worst they've ever had. This would be around Season 2 or 3, when Quinn was only just beginning to gain some more sympathy points from the narrative.
Crashing Into Goodbye features Daria being genuinely distressed when the Morgendorffers learn that Helen's sister Amy has been in a traffic accident. Her injuries aren't severe, but Amy does get a bit banged up and has to stay at a hospital for a few days.
Daria's really shaken up by this. The idea of losing Amy terrifies her on a level she's never felt before, as she often feels like Amy's the one person who in the family who truly gets her. We know that's not true, but Helen and Jake don't handle the situation that well. Helen gets stressed out when she has to deal with both Rita and their mother showing up because of Amy's situation, and it once again becomes yet another Barksdale beat down about how the sisters were raised. Jake is so terrified of Helen when she's involved with her sisters that he opts out like he did in Season 5, especially because of what being near her mother brings out in Helen. And since Quinn's never particularly been close to Amy she's not really focused and brushes Daria off as being her usual "weird" self when she actually tries to talk to Quinn. As such, this leaves Daria feeling even more isolated from her family than usual as she thinks she's the only one who actually gives a shit about Amy. This puts her on edge both because of how she views her family treating her beloved aunt, and how they're treating her. She knows she's similar to Amy, so she can't help project and it eats her up.
The only person who knows how Daria's really feeling is Jane, but even Jane is shocked at how emotional Daria's getting. She's never seen her be this vulnerable. The stress becomes too much for Daria during Mr. O'Neill's class and she leaves to be physically ill in the bathroom. Jane explains to O'Neill what Daria's dealing with; she doesn't want to because of how O'Neill is but she's kind of at a loss right now. He gives her permission to bring Daria home.
Unfortunately, Daria's on her way out after the bell rings, which results in Quinn and the Fashion Club seeing her sister's cousin's leaving early and gets mad she can't leave too. Daria finally snaps as Quinn tries to pretend she now cares about their aunt just to ditch school, and it escalates to the worst fight they'll ever have. And almost everyone sees it.
Quinn: Hey, why do you get to leave school early that’s not fair! I’m upset about Aunt Amy too!
Daria: What?
Mr. O’Neill: Is that true, Quinn?
Quinn: Oh yeah, I’ve been dealing with a lot of mental anguish and distress over the whole thing, right girls?
Stacy: Um…
Tiffany: Uh…
Quinn: RIGHT?
Stacy: Oh, right!
Tiffany: So much anguish…
Sandi: Definitely. In fact Quinn, you’ve been so broken up about your dear aunt’s misfortune I’d say you might need some time off from the Fashion Club to get your emotions in order. Maybe even permanent time off.
Mr. O’Neill: Oh dear!
Jane: Oh, that is low even for you Quinn.
Quinn (glaring at Sandi): I wouldn’t say I’m that-
Daria: For Christ’s sake, stop it Quinn!
Mr. O’Neill: Daria!
Jane: Whoa.
Daria: You’re really gonna use Aunt Amy’s accident just to weasel out of going to school?
Quinn: Isn’t that what you’re doing?
Daria: Can’t you act like a human being, for once in your life?
Quinn: Oh, like you know anything about being human! You expect me to believe YOU care about her? You don’t care about anyone! You’re too smart for that.
[As Quinn’s voice gets louder, more people start amassing around her and Daria, including some teachers from nearby rooms. Some seem intrigued by the arguing, others confused, but most are concerned. Among the Fashion Club, Stacy looks worried as she’s never seen Quinn this openly nasty. Tiffany’s expression remains neutral, while Sandi’s expression is one of amusement. Either at Daria being called out or Quinn showing an ugly side to herself, it’s not clear]
Quinn: All you care about are your weird books and foreign movies and being a, a, a brain who thinks just because she makes jokes no one understands and gets straight As and isn’t interested in what’s new and exciting and popular that makes her better than the rest of us! We get it, you're too smart to go on dates. You're too mature to wear cute clothes. You're too sarcastic to ever be happy about anything! Get a life already Daria, it's pathetic!
Mr. O’Neill: Now girls, let’s all take a deep breath-
Daria: I'm pathetic?! I don’t care about anyone?! This coming from a girl willing to exploit every boy who breathes in her direction to get free stuff yet somehow treats the basic concept of simple gratitude as if it were a malignant disease. Does this sound familiar? “Oh gee Adam, I wish I COULD go out with you, but I just CAN'T see myself dating a boy whose fingertips are smaller than mine it’s IN the Fashion Club bylaws. Thanks for the plane tickets though I'll let you know what Maui's like!”
Jane (to the crowd): For the record, that actually happened. She just got the photos back.
[The Three Js exchange shocked expressions, wondering who Quinn’s been exploiting behind their backs]
Daria: You engage in petty power struggles between your equally shallow and airheaded rival (Sandi: HEY!) so you can spend day after day with the same two girls, having the same conversations debating on what material your socks should be made from and why they don't have a diet version of diet soda.
Stacy: I knew that was a dumb topic when I said it, I knew it!
Tiffany: There, there...
Daria: At least I'm not the one who’s spent all our lives telling people I was adopted in case you need new bone marrow. You're such a coward you'd rather strip naked on the football field than have the guts to admit we’re sisters in public!
Quinn: DARIA!
Sandi [feigning surprise, eyes wide in delight as if this was the best day of her life]: Oh my gosh I can’t believe it. Stacy, Tiffany, can you believe what that weird girl said?
Stacy: Uh…
Tiffany: Saaaaid?
[Ms. Barch and Mr. DeMartino decide to try and break the fight up]
Ms. Barch: It’s a sad day when sisters are at each other’s throats in a male dominated, patriarchal society. Come on, let's break it up.
Mr. DeMartino: Okay girls, let’s cut this little daytime SOAP OPERA before the next BELL!
Ms. Barch: You get your filthy, greasy paws off her you disgusting excuse for a-!
Daria and Quinn: STAY OUT OF THIS!
[DeMartino AND Barch quickly back off, a rare moment where the two have ever been on the same page looking equally scared of Daria and Quinn's mood. The Three Js quickly try to feign ignorance in order to make Quinn happy.]
Brittany: Wait, did Quinn really not know Daria's her sister?
Jodie: No Brittany, Quinn's just lying.
Brittany: Ohhh like how I tell my brother our dad, like, found him under a bridge whenever one of our pets goes missing in his room? At least I don't THINK he found Brian under a bridge.
Jodie: Brittany I don't think we have time today to unpack your family's issues alongside Daria's. Let's save that for next week.
Brittany: Okay!
Jamie: Quinn doesn't have a sister guys that's her cousin!
Joey: No way that's Quinn's nanny!
Jeffy: Stupid she's not Quinn's nanny she's her live-in maid!
Jodie: Are they for real?
Mack: You see what I deal with when Kevin’s not around?
Brittany: Wow, I can’t believe my Kevvy ever wanted to date someone as nasty as Daria’s sister!
Quinn: She’s kidding! She’s not actually my sister. My cousin’s just delusional with grief!
Daria: Yes, SISTER! [Quinn winces] Her sister who’s tired of putting up with her crap and everyone else’s crap!
Mack: Uh-oh.
Jodie: Oh man.
Brittany: Eep!
Upchuck: Feisty!
Andrea: It's always the quiet ones.
Jane (growing more worried by the second): Daria, please. Forget about Quinn and let’s just-Daria!
[As the arguing gets worse, we zoom in on Daria and Quinn. As it happens, we notice the expressions on those around them are quickly looking identically concerned and worried until we can only see the two sisters. We see Jodie’s angled through the crowd and is next to Jane, exchanging worried expressions]
Daria: You wanna know why I care about what happens to Aunt Amy? Because I feel like I’m the only one who does care! Mom was at least willing to pretend she cared, but then Rita and Grandma showed up to put a stop to that. And Dad’s too scared to get involved in case Mom rips his head off, so he’s been utterly useless but what else is new?!
Jodie: Daria you don’t mean that.
Jane: I don't think she's ever meant it more than she does right now, unfortunately.
Daria: Because Aunt Amy’s the only person who ever consistently made me feel like I have a family that cares about me as a person! Who’s not constantly getting on my case about what I wear or what I like to do-
Quinn: Have you ANY IDEA how many snide remarks I’ve heard from you over the years-
Daria: And maybe, just maybe, I have a future worth looking forward to that’s not going to be defined by the shit I have to deal with from people like you!
[Jane and Jodie are now trying to pull Daria away from Quinn, while Stacy and Tiffany have broken from Sandi to try and pry Quinn back.]
Quinn: Well then go live with Aunt Amy if you think she’s so great! You should’ve been living with her all along because you’re both a couple of weirdo geek losers! Half the time I think Mom and Dad bought you from her, but I doubt anyone would’ve ever spent money to have a baby like you!
Daria: You mean an unpopular baby?
Quinn: I mean A FREAK!
Jane: Quinn shut the hell up!
Jodie: Quinn that’s enough!
Stacy: Stop fighting you two!
Tiffany (more animated than usual): Stop it, Quinn!
Quinn: So go live with Aunt Amy and stop ruining my life like you always do! Then we’d all be a lot happier if you were gone!
Daria: Oh anything to make you happy, SIS!
[There’s enough venom in the word to take down a full grown elephant. That last “sis” is the straw to break Quinn’s back to the point she grabs Daria and pushes her against the lockers]
Quinn: AND THE NEXT TIME SHE PLOWS HER CAR INTO A TREE I HOPE YOU’RE IN FRONT OF IT!
GASP!
[The silence that follows this outburst is smothering. Quinn’s clamped her hands over her mouth, eyes wide in shock. Daria’s had the wind taken right out of her. Her glasses have fallen off. She puts a hand to her head before looking at her sister.]
Daria: …
Quinn: I, I didn’t. Daria I would never-
Sandi (subdued as Tiffany and Stacy back up next to her again): Did she just say what I think she said?
Tiffany: Oh, Quinn…
Stacy (lip trembling): Quinn how could you?
[From Daria’s POV, we see Quinn looking horrified as she realizes what she just said while those standing around Quinn – THE FASHION CLUB, THE THREE JS, BROOKE, MR. DEMARTINO AND MS. BARCH, AND SEVERAL OTHER BACKGROUND STUDENTS – are all giving Daria sympathetic and shocked expressions. Tiffany’s shaking her head in disappointment. Stacy’s crying, the way a child cries seeing their parents arguing. You know a situation is messed up when even SANDI feels bad for someone.]
[From Quinn’s POV, Daria is looking more emotionally exhausted and hurt than we’ve ever seen her look before. While JANE, JODIE, MACK, BRITTANY, ANDREA, UPCHUCK, MR. O’NEILL AND MRS. BENNETT, are giving Quinn looks that range from disgusted, shocked, and enraged. Even Mr. O’Neill is frowning in Quinn’s direction. Jane looks like she wants to tear Quinn’s throat out. Without a word, Daria turns around and starts running through the crowd behind her.]
Jodie: Daria!
Jane: Daria wait!
[Jodie and Jane follow after Daria, with Jane stopping to give Quinn one last withering glare before departing after her friend.]
Ms. Li: What on Earth is with all this shouting?! Why are you people congregating in the halls like this? Unofficial assemblies are a violation of school policy! And did I see Daria Morgendorffer leaving school property before dismissal?
Mr. DeMartino: I be-LIEVE you should ask the younger Miss Morgendorffer about why we're CONGREGATING. SHE can tell you all about the BLISTERING DISCUSSION she just had with her SIS-TER. ISN’T THAT RIGHT, QUINN?!
Ms. Barch: Yes Quinn, inform Ms. Li about why your SISTER left school.
Quinn: I...
Ms. Li: Miss Morgendorffer, I'm waiting.
Kevin (oblivious as always): Yo Mack Daddy, I was in the boys room when I heard a bunch of shouting, what’d I miss?
Mack: Daria’s sister pushed her against the lockers and told her to get killed.
Ms. Li: What?!
Kevin: Whoa! That's not cool, Quinn.
Quinn: I didn’t say that!
Andrea: You just heavily implied it.
Quinn: I didn’t mean to!
Upchuck: Save it Toots, the dumb act's not gonna help you this time.
Brittany: Yeah! Like, what do you think we are? Stupid?
[Tears running down her cheeks, Quinn runs away down the opposite end of the hallway. No one follows after her.]

Five Nights at Freddy's Trailer 2 is Promising!
I just watched the second trailer for the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, and I’m really excited about it! The trailer is much more atmospheric and creepy than the first one, and it does a great job of capturing the sense of dread and suspense that the games are known for. I also love the fact that the trailer seems to be taking the story in a different direction than the games. In the games, the…

Spider Quinn 17 Tempestuous Origin of Mysterio Part 5
“Daria Morgendorffer, please report to the principal’s office,” Ms. Li announced straight after Homeroom.
Daria sighed. She knew that was going to happen.
“How are you feeling?” Ms. Li asked when Daria had sat down.
“My best friend has been kidnapped! How do you think I’m feeling?”
“Mrs. Manson is ready to talk if you…”
“No!” Daria said. She didn’t want to deal with that quack of a school counsellor.
“Are you sure, Ms. Morgendorffer?”
“Of course I’m sure, Ms. Li. The best way for me to keep from thinking about what might be happening to Jane is for me to be in class doing schoolwork.”
“I see that you have made up your mind on that.”
“Yes,’ Daria said as she took the hall pass off the principal’s desk.
At the same time, as she went to her first class, Andrea looked for one of the students she knew had at least one sibling at Lawndale State.
She soon sighed one of them. “Tania!” she called out.
Tania Ashworth turned upon hearing her name. “Yes, Andrea?”
“Your brother is at Lawndale State, right?”
“He is,” Tania answered. “What is this about?”
“Ninja Talon and SpiderGirl asked me to help search for Jane.”
“And how would my brother be able to help with that?”
“He could give me access to one of the computer labs,” Andrea answered.
“I see, you want to access camera footage,” Tania surmised.
“Yes, I still have dial up at home.”
“I’ll if I can contact him at lunch.”
“Then that is what I’ll tell Ninja Talon later,” Andrea said as she left.
“Wait…” Tania said as Andrea disappeared into the distance. ‘Does she know who Ninja Talon is?’
She thought about it more. ‘Quite likely, but I’ll keep it to myself. Besides, I need to focus on the play tonight.’
Agent Leung returned to the Lawndale Field Office, where he typed up his notes and started writing on the whiteboard in the office. He started with the timeline. “Quentin Beck. Arrived in Lawndale on Saturday, 17th February, whereupon he goes to the Historia and is immediately hired by Quinn Morgendorffer as the theater’s special effects person.” There wasn’t anything suspicious there.
“Anything on the four business partners?” One of his fellow agents asked.
“Daria and Quinn Morgendorffer, sisters who have recently lost their father,” Leung said as he put up recent photos of the two, reflecting their changes in appearance. “Their mother, Helen, is associate in Vitale, et al.”
That brought about a silence. Jim Vitale’s reputation was well known in the field office.
“Daria is Jane’s close friend,” Leung added. “Thus she has no motive.”
“And the other two?” the other agent asked.
“Joseph Green and Robert Allen, cousins who are also nephews of the Historia’s former owner. All four are students at Lawndale High.”
“Could Angela Li be a suspect?”
“Unlikely. There is no impact on the school from the Historia opening. The Morgendorffers grades appear to be unaffected by their involvement in the theater. Quinn won the spelling bee, the day before the theater opened,” Leung said.
“And the cousin’s grades?”
“Steady,” Leung said as he turned back to the timeline. “Sunday, February 18th. The first rehearsal for Tempest. And later, Kalina Ondrovick says it’s amateurish on radio and Daria calls in to argue with her. That’s the first time the play is mentioned on the radio. That’s the main connection. That the play was mentioned on the radio.”
He continued through the timeline up to Jane’s abduction.
“But one thing is eluding me,” Leung said when he was finished. “And Peterson too. Motive. What reason does Quentin Beck have to disrupt the play.”
“Jealousy?”
“Quinn said that he was condescending of her age.”
“Which is?” the other asked.
“She turns 16 next week,” Leung said, and wrote her birthdate in late February of 1985 beneath her photo.
“And Daria?”
“Seventeen and half,” Leung added, writing her birthdate in late July of 1983 beneath her picture. “The cousins are 16, born in late 1984.”
They continued their brainstorming.
Between classes, Quinn caught up with Anna and Ben. “We have to do the mentoring at the Historia, rather than the Library,” she said.
“Any reason?” Ben asked.
“I’ll also be re-interviewing the previous applicants for the special effects position.”
“Because of what happened to Jane?” Anna asked.
“That’s part of it,” Quinn answered.
“Because Quentin Beck is responsible,” Anna surmised.
Quinn nodded.
“We’ll be there,” Anna said. “But what about Gerald? He won’t like it.”
“I know,” Quinn said. “He’ll be difficult to convince.”
At lunch, Tania went to one of the school’s payphones straight out of class. “I hope his in his room,” Tania murmured as she put in a couple of quarters. She then dialled the number.
“Yes?”
“Scott! It’s Tania.”
“Why are you calling me in the middle of the day? I have a class in twenty minutes.”
“Sorry about that. I have a favour to ask of you.”
“I’m already seeing the play.”
“That’s good but that’s not what this is about.”
“What is this about then?”
Tania then began explaining what Andrea had asked her about.
“You want me to allow this Andrea to use my account to try to find this Jane? Because of SpiderGirl and Ninja Talon?”
“Yes,” Tania said.
“I’ll have to think about it,” Scott said.
“Let me know before the play starts tonight.”
“I shall, bye.”
In the library, Andrea found Brittany hiding somewhere near the back. ‘She looks 100% the cheerleader she has been the past few years,’ she thought. ‘Apart from that time in the Zon when she had her hair dyed dark.’ She shook her head. That wasn’t what she wanted to think about. She saw that she was reading a book on the history of Lawndale. “Brit?” she asked.
Brittany looked up. “Hey, Andy,” she said with a slight smile.
She almost ignored the nickname. Brittany was the only one who could get away with calling her that. ‘Still is, it seems,’ Andrea thought. “I found Tania Ashworth. She said she would talk to her brother.”
“Tania. She’s in the play too,” Brittany acknowledged.
“I had heard about that.”
“I’ll let Spidey know, later.”
“Good, I’ll be off,” Andrea said.
“You don’t have to.”
“We’re still too different.”
“I’m in the play because I want to change,” Brittany said in a vulnerable tone.
“So, you’re a cheerleader and an actor, as well as a vigilante, not the imaginative girl you were.”
“I guess so,” Brittany said with a twirl of a pigtail. “But small steps?”
“Yes,” Andrea said with a slight smile as Brittany went back to reading her book.
Daria and Sandi entered the cafeteria at the same time. “How are you after last night?” Daria asked.
“I just needed to rest,” Sandi answered. “I’m fine now. Mother says that when she had overextended herself that way, it took overnight for her.”
“Does she usually search for people like that?” Daria asked.
“Not often. But she was active in Boston before I was born.”
“Meaning…”
“Exactly,” Sandi confirmed.
‘That’s something. I think Boston does have hero vigilantes occasionally. It happens more often in New York.’
They came to the usual table to find only Harry and Tania waiting.
“So, any clue as to where Jane is?” Tania asked, hoping that she get some clue to tell Andrea and Scott later.
“No clue, but probably near the lake,” Daria answered. “Also, the FBI are now involved in the investigation.”
“Not surprising,” Sandi commented between bites.
“But the play is going ahead?” Harry asked.
“Of course,” Daria answered. “The show must go on. It’s what Jane would want, and tonight is sold out.”
“That’s good,” Tania said.
“Are you ready?” Daria asked.
“I am,” Tania said. “Last night was a bit scary, but I’m ready.”
“You’re in the play?” Harry asked. “You haven’t said.”
“Yes, I’m playing Ceres, one of the muses.” Tania answered.
“But what if something happens again?” Harry asked.
“Not only would Peterson be there, but the FBI agent as well,” Daria said. “Besides the theater has been checked over many times.”
“So, it won’t happen?” Harry asked.
“No,” Sandi answered.
Quinn joined Stacy, Tori and Tiffany for lunch. “What’s up, Tori?” she asked.
“I’m fine,” Tori said. “But now the paper has mentioned the play.”
“They did have to report that something happened last night,” Quinn pointed out.
“That’s true, but what if Mom is targeted, even if it’s not her byline? Like, I know that being a reporter can be dangerous, even a local one. But with everything going on in Lawndale…” Tori said before shedding a tear.
“I’m sure she’ll be safe,” Quinn said.
“Safer than the critics and Jane?” Tori asked.
“Yes,” Quinn said. She looked at Stacy, who was fretting as she usually did. She took her hand. “It’s going to be fine.”
“But, Jane? What if Mom’s in danger because she works there?”
“She hasn’t mentioned the play on radio,” Quinn said. “And I’m sure Jane will be found soon.”
“But she has been mentioning it in the café,” Stacy said.
“By SpiderGirl?” Tiffany asked.
Stacy looked at Tiffany. “Maybe. Or maybe Ninja Talon or this Dafoanairi.”
“Probably the fourth vigilante,” Quinn said. “Besides, I’m sure the vigilantes have been in the Historia as their secret identities.”
“Weren’t most of them there last night?” Tori asked.
“They were, but it seems that things happened too fast,” Quinn said. “But they will probably be prepared for tonight.”
“I hope so,” Stacy said.
Kevin looked around after he had got his lunch. Most of the students were as usual. He had heard about what had happened the previous night and hoped that Jane would be found soon. He looked around again and didn’t see who he wanted to see. He knew that something was going to change soon, but Brit had been a constant since they had started going out.
Mack saw Kevin sit across from him. “Hey, Mack Daddy, do you know where Brit is?”
“I don’t, and how many times I have I said not to call me that?”
“She’s probably preparing for the play,” Robert said.
“Oh yeah, that’s tonight,” Kevin responded.
“But I have seen her today. She is at school,” Mack said.
“But where in the school?” Kevin asked.
“You know where she will be,” Robert said.
“But Mom and I won’t see the play until tomorrow,” Kevin said.
Quinn caught up with Gerald after leaving the cafeteria. “Gerald!”
“Quinn?” Gerald asked as he approached the cafeteria himself.
“We need to do the mentoring at the Historia today,” Quinn said, and then explained as she did to Anna and Ben.
“I don’t think trying to mentor and do job interviews at the same time is a good idea,” Gerald said.
“I know, but I didn’t want to cancel, and besides the play is starting tonight.”
“Is that a good idea?”
“There will be police, and the FBI there, and maybe one or two of the vigilantes,” Quinn said. “Besides, Jane wouldn’t want the play to not go ahead on her account.”
“I suppose. I’ll be there.”
“Great. It’ll be in the bookshop.”
Quinn caught up with Brittany between classes. “What did Andrea say?” she asked after they ducked into a bathroom and made sure that the stalls were unoccupied.
“That she will be able to do it with Tania’s brother,” Brittany answered.
“That is, Tania Ashworth?”
“Yes.”
“Interesting. But does she know when?” Quinn asked.
“Tania hadn’t got back to her yet.”
“She’ll probably get back to her this afternoon.”
“I’ll try to find out before school finishes,” Brittany said.
“You’ll know where I’ll be.”
Brittany nodded and headed out.
As school finished, Andrea caught up with Tania. “I told Ninja Talon that you would call your brother,” she said.
“I did,” Tania responded. “He said that he would get back to me before the play starts tonight.”
“Got it. I guess I’ll be waiting at the Historia, then.”
“That’s probably a good idea.”
Daria came to the Lexus to find not only Quinn, but also, Anna, Ben and Gerald waiting. “Just as well there aren’t more people,” she said.
“True,” Quinn said with a giggle.
“Let’s just get there,” Gerald said.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be driving safely,” Daria said as she opened the driver side door.
“You should have seen her on the way to Freemont,” Quinn said.
Daria sighed. “I never imagined that a crime I’ll be trying to solve would be Jane’s abduction.”
“Same,” Quinn said.
“Any clues?” Anna asked as she got in after Ben.
“Other than the stormwater system, none,” Daria answered as she turned on the engine.
“What did Ms. Li want to talk about earlier?” Quinn asked.
“Offering Mrs. Manson’s services,” Daria answered.
“And you turned her down, of course,” Quinn said.
“Yes. I don’t want a repeat of self-esteem class,” Daria said.
“Of course.”
Brittany and Andrea caught up in the parking lot after the Morgendorffers’ Lexus had driven away. “So, what did Tania say?” Brittany asked.
“She’ll get back to me before the play starts,” Andrea answered.
“I guess I have to wait at the Historia too.”
“Or you can come and go.”
“That’s true, but I’d be patrolling close to it,” Brittany said.
Daria and the others entered the Historia from the rear and saw Peterson in the lobby when they got there.
“How was school?” she asked.
“It went well,” Quinn said.
“But Jane’s absence was noted,” Daria aid.
“I have heard from Leung. The local field office has started a search of the Creek between the Jefferson Bridge and where it flows into the lake,” Peterson said.
“That’s great, isn’t it?” Anna asked.
“It is, Ms.”
“Coultard.”
“Coultard,” Peterson repeated. “It is, as you put it, great. It means that something is being done.”
“Thanks for the information, Ms. Peterson,” Quinn said. “But we need to start our session now. I have a busy afternoon ahead of me.”
“Of course.”
Officer Peterson waited until Quinn and the others had entered the bookstore. “I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to make your own search of the area, but if you do be sure to keep out of the agents’ hair.”
Daria sighed. “I wouldn’t, although the temptation is there. It would take me too long. Dafoanairi is remaining downtown this afternoon. Besides, I need to prepare for tonight. You know that I’m the director, as well as the playwright.”
“Of course.”
“Now, write about your experience with Shakespeare’s works, or adaptations of it,” Quinn said. “The first of the previous applicants should be here in five minutes.”
“Including The Tempest?” Anna asked.
“Of course,” Quinn said with a giggle. “But the play doesn’t count.”
At the same time, Brittany, Andrea and Tania arrived at the Historia separately. Brittany went over to Daria. “How are you holding up?” she asked.
“Well enough. Peterson told me that the FBI is searching downstream of the Jefferson Bridge.”
“I see,” Brittany said. “I’m sure that she will be found soon. If not tonight, then, tomorrow.”
“We can only hope,” Daria said with a slight smile.

Favorite Takes - DC
Where I cite my personal favorite non-source material (so film, TV, and video games only) adaptations of some comic book characters.
Clark Kent/Superman
Superman The Movie & Sequels (Christopher Reeve)
All Star Superman (James Denton)
DC Animated Universe (Tim Daly, George Newbern)
My Adventures With Superman (Jack Quaid)
CW DC Universe (Tyler Hoechlin, Brandon Routh)
NOTE: I was never the biggest fan of Dean Cain from Lois & Clark so he couldn't get on here, Tom Welling from Smallville might've been a contender had his character and story not got so bastardized, and the less said of poor Henry Cavill from the DCEU, the better.
Lois Lane
DC Animated Universe (Dana Delany)
All Star Superman (Christina Hendricks)
Superman The Movie & Sequels (Margot Kidder)
TV Versions (Terri Hatcher, Erica Durance, and Elizabeth Tulloch)
My Adventures With Superman (Alice Lee)
Lex Luthor
DC Animated Universe (Clancy Brown)
All Star Superman (Anthony LePaglia)
Smallville (Michael Rosenbaum)
CW DC Universe (Jon Cryer, Michael Cudlitz)
DC DTV Universe(s) (James Marsters, Jason Isaacs)
JLA (James Woods) & Young Justice (Mark Rolston)
NOTE: The last two get a split spot since one of them's got the voice of an evil political fascist while the other got his character mangled in later seasons to be a bad parallel to an evil political fascist. I also like the Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey, Stan Jones, Travis Willingham, Fred Tatasciore, Steve Blum, Ranin Wilson, Giancarlo Esposito, Zachary Quinto, Darin De Paul, Lance Reddick, Marc Maron, and Max Mittelman versions of Lex, and await to see Nicholas Hoult's.
Jimmy Olsen
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Alexander Polinsky)
DC Animated Universe (David Kaufman)
My Adventures With Superman (Ishmael Sahid)
Superman Returns (Sam Huntington)
All Star Superman (Matthew Gray Gubler)
Supergirl
DC Animated Universe (Nicolle Tom)
DC Superhero Girls (Anais Fairweather)
My Adventures With Superman (Kiana Madeira)
CW DC Universe (Melissa Benoist)
Supergirl '84 Film (Helen Slater)
Brainiac
DC Animated Universe (Corey Burton)
My Adventures With Superman (Michael Emerson)
Injustice Series (Jeffrey Combs)
Superman Unbound (John Noble)
TV Versions (James Marsters and Blake Ritson)
Bruce Wayne/Batman
DC Animated Universe (Kevin Conroy)
Under The Red Hood & Young Justice (Bruce Greenwood)
The Batman Trilogy (Robert Pattinson)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Christian Bale)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Diedrich Bader)
Batman '66 (Adam West)
NOTE: I really wanted David Mazouz from Gotham on here, but he had to compete with these other Bruces who were actually full time Batmen, so consider him an honorable mention. I also like Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and Ben Affleck as Batman, but there were some problems with their particular iterations. Other runner ups include the other Kevin Conroy Batmen (particularly Arkham and Injustice), Rino Romano, Jeremy Sisto, Daran Norris, Anthony Ruivivar, Ben McKenzie, Jason O'Mara, Troy Baker, Peter Weller, Jensen Anckles, Keanu Reeves, Ethan Hawke, and of course the LEGO Batman(s).
Alfred Pennyworth
Burton-Shumacher Films (Michael Gough)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Michael Caine)
DC Animated Universe (Clive Revill, Efrem Zimbalist Jr.)
The Batman (Alastair Duncan)
Arkham Series (Martin Jarvis)
Gotham (Sean Pertwee) and The Batman Trilogy (Andy Serkis)
NOTE: Other great Alfreds include James Garrett, Brian George, JB Blanc, David McCallum, Enn Reitel, Anthony Head, Ralph Fiennes, Nolan North, Tom Hollander, Jason Watkins, and Jeremy Irons.
James Gordon
DC Animated Universe (Bob Hastings)
Batman Year One (Bryan Cranston)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Gary Oldman)
The Batman Trilogy (Jeffrey Wright)
Beware The Batman (Kurtwood Smith)
Batman '66 (Neil Hamilton, Jim Ward)
Barbara Gordon
DC Animated Universe (Melissa Gilbert, Mary Kay Bergman, Tara Strong)
Arkham Series & Injustice Series (Kimberly Brooks)
The Batman (Danielle Judovits)
Young Justice (Alyson Stoner)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Mae Whitman)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Krystal Joy Brown)
Dick Grayson/Robin
Teen Titans (Scott Menville)
Young Justice (Jesse McCartney)
Batman '66 (Burt Ward)
The Batman (Evan Sabara)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Crawford Wilson, Jeremy Shada)
Arkham Series (Josh Keaton)
Dick Grayson/Nightwing
Teen Titans (Scott Menville)
Young Justice (Jesse McCartney)
DC Animated Universe (Loren Lester)
Under The Red Hood (Neil Patrick Harris)
Arkham Series and Injustice Series (Troy Baker)
DC DTV Universe (Sean Maher)
The Joker
DC Animated Universe (Mark Hamill)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Heath Ledger)
Burton-Shumacher Films (Jack Nicholson)
Joker 2019 (Joaquin Phoenix)
Under The Red Hood (John DiMaggio)
Gotham (Cameron Monaghan)
NOTE: Other great Jokers include Mark Hamill and Troy Baker as Arkham series Joker, Mark Hamill in JLA, Troy Baker in Batman Unlimited and some of the newer DTVs, Caesar Romero in Batman '66, Michael Emerson in The Dark Knight Returns, Kevin Michael Richardson in The Batman, Jeff Bennett in Batman: The Brave & The Bold, Richard Epcar in Mortal Kombat and Injustice, John Kassir in Superfriends 2010, Alan Tudyk in Harley Quinn, Tony Hale in Batman Ninja, Barry Keogan in The Batman Trilogy, and the LEGO Joker(s).
The Penguin
Batman '66 (Burgess Meredith, William Salyers)
Gotham (Robin Lord Taylor)
The Batman Trilogy (Colin Farrell)
Arkham Series (Nolan North, Ian Redford)
DC Animated Universe (Paul Williams, David Odgen Stiers)
The Batman (Tom Kenny)
NOTE: I like the Stephen Root, David Jennison, Dana Snyder, and Wayne Knight Penguins as well, but they're not quite good enough to crack this. Mad respect to Danny DeVito too, but his Penguin sucks.
The Riddler
Batman '66 (Frank Gorshin*, Wally Wingert)
Gotham (Cory Michael Smith)
The Batman Trilogy (Paul Dano)
The Batman (Robert Englund)
DC Animated Universe (John Glover)
Arkham Series (Wally Wingert, Matthew Gray Gubler)
NOTE: Sorry Jim Carrey, you couldn't quite make the cut! Also in the running: Shannon McCormick, John Michael Higgins, Rob Paulsen, Weird Al Yankovic, Jim Rash, Brent Spiner, and Geoffrey Arrend.
*I refuse to credit John Astin's one appearance. That didn't happen!
Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Arkham Series (Grey Griffin, Chantelle Barry)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Anne Hathaway)
Burton-Shumacher Films (Michele Pteifer)
Gotham (Camren Bicondova)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Nika Futterman)
The Batman (Gina Gershon)
NOTE: Wish DCAU Selina could've made it since Adrienne Barbeau has easily the best voice for the character, but the writing and artwork let her down too often. Other good Catwomen include Julie Newmar, Ertha Kitt, Patty Matson, Jaynse Jaud, Eliza Dushku, Stephanie Sheh, Laura Bailey, Cree Summer, Jennifer Morrison, Naya Rivera, Liz Gilles, Gina Rodriguez, Christina Ricci, and Zoe Kravitz.
Two-Face
DC Animated Universe (Richard Moll)
Arkham Series (Troy Baker)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Aaron Eckhard)
Batman '66 (William Shatner)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Diedrich Bader)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (James Remar)
NOTE: Apologies to Billy Dee Williams, who would've done great, and Tommy Lee Jones, who could've done great (but definitely didn't). Also in the running but their coins landed on tails: Travis Willingham, Matthew Mercer, Robert Picardo, Petter Jessop, Dave Boat, Keith Ferguson, Gary Cole, Andrew Daly, and Josh Duhamel.
Mr. Freeze
DC Animated Universe (Michael Ansara)
Arkham Series (Maurice LeMarche)
Young Justice (Keith Szarabajka)
Batman '66 (George Sanders, Otto Preminger, Eli Wallach)
Gotham (Nathan Darrow)
Burton-Shumacher Films (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
NOTE: Other noteworthy Freezes who got frozen out of making it include Clancy Brown, Eric Bauza, Robert Kraft, Oded Fehr, Peter Stromare, Jim Pirri, and Matthew Mercer.
Poison Ivy
Arkham Series (Taisa Valenza, Amy J. Carle, Darcy Rose Byrnes)
DC Animated Universe (Dianne Pershing)
The Batman (Pierra Coppola)
Harley Quinn (Lake Bell)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Vanessa Marshall)
Gotham (Peyton List, Clare Foley, Maggie Geha)
NOTE: Uma Thurman, Laure Bailey, Fryda Wolff, Natasha Leggero, Paget Brewster, Peyton List II, Cristina Milizia, and Katee Sackhoff are all fun Poison Ivys as well.
Harley Quinn
DC Animated Universe (Arleen Sorkin)
Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco)
The Batman (Hynden Walch)
DCEU (Margot Robbie) and Suicide Squad ISEKAI (Karlii Hoch)
Arkham Series (Arleen Sorkin, Tara Strong)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Jamie Chung)
NOTE: Meghan Strange in Batman: The Brave & The Bold, Jenny Slate in The LEGO Batman Movie, Laura Post in the Telltale games, and Melissa Rauch in Batman and Harley Quinn are also great, and I've no doubt Lady Gaga could've really rocked it too but....yeah.
Ra's Al Ghul
DC Animated Universe (David Warner)
Gotham (Alexander Sidigg)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Liam Neeson)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Peter Woodward)
Young Justice (Oded Fehr)
Arkham Series (Dee Bradley Baker)
NOTE: Also among the great Ra's Al Ghuls are Jason Isaacs, Lance Reddick, Giancarlo Esposito & TC Carson, JB Blanc, and Cas Anvar.
Bane
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Tom Hardy)
Arkham Series (JB Blanc, Fred Tatasciore)
Young Justice (Danny Trejo, Eric Lopez)
DC Animated Universe (Henry Silva, Hector Elizondo)
The Batman (Joaquim de Almelda, Ron Perlman)
Harley Quinn (James Adomian)
Scarecrow
Arkham Series (Dino Andrade, John Noble)
DC Animated Universe (Henry Polic II, Jeffrey Combs)
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Cillian Murphy)
Injustice Series (Robert Englund)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Dee Bradley Baker)
Batman Unlimited (Brian T. Delaney)
Killer Croc
Arkham Series (Steve Blum, Khary Payton)
The Batman (Ron Perlman)
Beware The Batman (Wade Williams)
DC Animated Universe (Aaron Kincaid, Brooks Gardner)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Stephin Root)
Batman Unlimited (John DiMaggio)
Clayface
The Batman (Steve Harris, Wallace Langham)
Arkham Series (Rick D. Wasserman)
Batman: Caped Crusader (Dan Donohue)
DC Animated Universe (Ron Perlman)
Harley Quinn (Alan Tudyck)
Batman Unlimited (Dave B. Mitchell)
Professor Hugo Strange
Arkham Series (Corey Burton)
Gotham (BD Wong)
The Batman (Frank Gorshin, Richard Green)
Strange Days Short (Brian George)
Batman '66 (Jim Ward)
DC Animated Universe (Ray Buktenica)
NOTE: William Salyers in Gotham By Gaslight is fine as well but his part is too secondary. Young Justice Strange is the only one I dislike.
Diana Prince/Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman DTV (Keri Russell)
Wonder Woman '76 (Lynda Carter)
DCEU (Gal Gadot)
Young Justice (Maggie Q)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Vicki Lewis)
DTV Universe (Grey Griffin, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson)
JLA (Rachel Kimsey)
NOTE: Really wish a Susan Eisenberg Wonder Woman could've landed here, but both of her most major iterations had some issues.
Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Teen Titans (Ron Perlman)
CW DC Universe (Manu Bennett, Michael Chiklis, Esai Morales)
DTV Universe (Thomas Gibson, Miguel Ferrer)
Injustice Series (JG Hertzler)
Arkham Series (Mark Rolston)
Tara "Terra" Markov
Teen Titans (Ashley Johnson)
Teen Titans GO! (Ashley Johnson)
DTV Universe (Cristina Ricci)
LEGO DC (Laura Bailey)
Young Justice (Tara Strong)
Darkseid
DC Animated Universe (Michael Ironside, Kevin Michael Richardson)
Justice League Heroes (David Sobolov)
Batman: The Brave & The Bold (Michael Leon Wooley)
Injustice Series (Michael Leon Wooley)
DTV Universe(s) (Andre Baugher, Bruce Thomas, Tony Todd)
JLA (Johnathan Adams)
NOTE: I discount Steve Blum from the DTV Universe(s) 'cause what the fuck was that, and Ray Porter in the DCEU was tragically ill-fated.

As you can see, I wanted the cast to be a mix of old and new actors, with a good chunk of the characters being voiced by previous voices.
And in a few case, they're still being voiced by their long-time recurring VAs.
Let me know what you guys think about this casting!

May 5, 2025
Today was my first day in Japan! After yesterday’s long flight, I was excited to be able to stretch my legs (almost 15,000 steps!). At the point in time in which I am writing this, I am already so exhausted from my busy day. I woke up at five am today due to jet lag, and my day has been nonstop ever since. Whereas normally in America I would be able to stay awake until midnight with no issue if needed, right now I can feel myself growing more tired with every passing minute and it’s only 9:00.
Our day started off with visiting Sensō-ji shrine in Asakusa. It’s a Buddhist temple located in a busy area within Tokyo. The goddess Kannon is worshipped there, but her statue is covered behind a curtain. Before praying, you throw a coin into a donation bin and bow. I was able to have my fortune read, and received a good fortune. If you had received a bad fortune, there was a wire where you would tie your paper fortune onto and leave it there. It was amazing to me to see a giant temple in the middle of a metropolitan area, which is something you don’t see in America.

In the reading by Mark L. Blum, we had learned about bodhisattvas. They are people who are striving to achieve enlightenment, but wish to help others be relieved of their suffering rather than only focusing on themselves. If you chose to only focus on yourself, you would be called a shravaka, which means listener. This is because you only listened to the teaching of the Buddha instead of actually putting them into practice.
We also went to the Edo museum, where there was a life sized recreation of a portion of a neighborhood from the Edo period of Japan. The reading by Hane and Perez explained how there were four classes: samurai, peasants, artisans and merchants. The example town we saw was one that would’ve been inhabited by artisans and merchants, who are collectively called townspeople.
I’m excited for our day tomorrow! Figuring out the subway system is a little bit of a challenge with a language barrier, but it’s been really convenient for getting around places. Tomorrow, we will take the subway into Shibuya and Harajuku. I can’t wait for the rest of my stay in Japan!
