We're both in love with each other, but we can't be together. Both too broken to date, too in love to walk away from the other. So i wrote a poem about it.

Kintsugi.

Maybe this wasn’t the place, Wasn’t the time, wasn’t the universe, Maybe that in another space, You and I could be us. In a time and space, Without a them, Without a before, Soft glow, you and I, just more. Just us, between sheets, Between arms, and heartbeats, Air thick with love and longing. No more ‘us against the world’ Just us and no world. Just us drowned in each other’s souls. You trapped in the feathers of my wings, Me drowned in the petrol of your sins, Maybe love would be nothing more - nothing worse, than a dove soaked in oil. Or maybe you’ll be drowned in my past, And i’ll be trapped in your care, Just you and I, bandage our wounds, In a warm glow against unfairness. Let’s not see the golden sun like a threat, Our wings weren’t made of wax, Ours are real, and just relax Our cuts could be kintsugi. Their Heaven’s never kind, But ours will be.

Arsenal: Heaven’s Mistake - A spear originally made with divine steel but was broken. However it has been reforged with blight steel ensuring it can both be fixed and is of even greater quality. As before it grants the user divine protection and deals great damage to demons. With the modification it now has the power to coat itself and the user in an aura of blight that burns both good and bad karma beings. It can also summon a Blight Flame Angel that acts as a familiar for the wielder as well as a protector and even someone who can hold the spear is the user’s stead.

Revenant Kintsugi Wings - Wings originally made of divine steel but were broken. However it has been reforged with blight steel ensuring it can both be fixed and is of greater quality. Now not only allows the user to fly, grants divine protection from demons but can also coat the user in an aura of blight that burns both good and bad karma beings. It’s also possible for the wings to both expand and split into multiple wings allowing the user to both use them as weapons and fly even faster than before.

Magic User - user of magic, is able to utilize any type and combo of the following magic cores: Light, Holy, Shadow, and Spirit.

I love this idea! Especially because kintsugi art is about how something broken can end up being more valuable and that definitely fits the theme of the story. The devs mentioned that Touchstarved is for people who feel like outsiders/outcasts. One could add people who feel “broken” to that. I wonder if MC's curse is actually meant to be a boon in some way. Which would be interesting if there were LI who were aware of that and intend to keep MC close for their own advantage. It would add an interesting dynamic to try an figure out who you could trust completely.

I had this thought for a while, but MC's scars look almost exactly like that japanese Kintsugi art of repairing ceramic pots/vases, could be intentional maybe?

A friend of mine @portsandstars mentioned the idea of maybe MC's hands being broken (metaphorically or not), with their golden scars being what holds everything together. Anyways I didn't think too hard about it, I want to see what the community thinks about this idea/theory :D

Gangle - The Porcelain Doll, Angel of Revenge

(since I'm still too tired and fatigued bc of the daily migraines I resorted to posting her introduction with some sketches I have, rather than a full concept work like Caine got- will eventually draw one for her but... i'm TIRED)

The favourite girl getting her introduction after Caine, smh /lh Anyways, here she is! Her design is based off of porcelain dolls with the white & blue color scheme and floral design - the golden cracks are meant to represent "Kintsugi", a japanese technique to fix cracks in broken pottery.

The theme & name for the AU, Archangel!AU, gets a bit more obvious with her title. Each of the characters in this AU represents an "archangel" (they're not angels in the literal sense, it's more about ethic, morals and fate).

(I don't have a human/IRL name for her yet, so I'll just use her normal one-)

Gangle started working in the "C & A" IT company shortly after her graduation from College in 2005, having made her bachelors in Computer Science while financing her student loans by working at a fast food chain (quitting when she finally got a job in IT).

During her time as human she lived with Jax, the two of them being partners, and renting an apartment together. She was a profund fan of small critters, like bunnies and rats, which they kept as pets.

When the events of the Archangel!AU take place in 2006 she's placed into the digital word of "The Game", a virtual world led and controlled by the admin & Caine, an AI in charge of watching the human avatars and making sure they're having puzzles ready to solve.

However during one faithful event and during one of the ongoing puzzles Gangle was knocked through the window by an entity the group was dealing with - with human avatars being installed killed when they leave the building there was little to be done.

Caine witnessed her death, realising that her status going Offline wasn't registered by the human admin yet as they had left the desk prior. Using this window of oporturnity, Caine resurrected Gangle - however, as there is no human soul anymore to inhabit the avatar, he created a new one from code, using his own as base.

Coding a personality is one thing, but coding a human's spirit and soul is another - erasing the memories of her death from the other human's minds, Caine made sure that they wouldn't instantly notice Gangle's behaviour possibly being off, since she does have all the memories the human-self had, but doesn't have her soul.

This would lead to issue in the long-run, since her own AI grew through the interaction with the other humans, with Gangle starting to doubt her own existence and who she truly was.
