The Harbinger and the Dragon-King, FWC / FF 7 Alternate AU Story

Summary: Bianca descends in her celestial dragon form to shield Sephiroth from Bahamut’s annihilation.

Author's Note: Still trying to get back into descriptions. Actions scenes were always hard for me to write, so I took inspiration from Michael Crichton. Also, I been wanting to write this since I love Kaiju fights.

The sky over Junon churned like a wounded beast, thick clouds writhing with anticipation. Lightning forked across the sea-swept cliffs, casting eerie silver light on the great beige cannon: a mechanical behemoth, bristling with the tension of impending war.

From the platform behind the cannon, Cloud stood. The Buster Sword was in hand, and the wind whipped his spikey blond hair. Beside him, his companions were tense, bracing for the unfathomable. The air cracked open with a low, droning hum. A crimson flare ignited the sky.

He had called it.

Bahamut descended with majesty and menace. Six wings stretched wide like scythes of judgment. Its dark silver metallic hide shimmered under the lighting. Talons crackled with energy as it hovered: the lord of the skies. The weight of its presence pushed down on Junon like some kind of divine punishment.

Below and on the opposite side of the platform, Sephiroth stood alone. His coat fluttered like a banner. His head lifted. Silver hair cascaded over one shoulder, as his glowing mako eyes filled with something wicked: calm and knowing.

“Still chasing shadows, Cloud?” Sephiroth’s voice cut through the thunder like a scalpel. “Even with a god at your side, you are nothing.”

Cloud grit his teeth. His heart pounded but not at the insult, rather at the risk. Because he had seen the battlefield shift. Bahamut was not aiming at him.

Its maw opened. There were no words, no roar. Only a building silence, a vacuum of existence preparing to be filled with annihilation. The light that gathered in its throat wasn’t fire. It was unbeing. It pulsed like the heartbeat of the void, growing, growing, growing. Then, the sky ripped.

Like the cosmos had gasped.

A rift, jagged and coiling, tore itself into existence above the cliffside. A figure hurled through it. Wings unfurled. Its massive, feathered limbs laced with smoky black down, as violet miasma trailed after it. Bianca emerged like a comet of pure wrath, her eyes, so many eyes, blazing with violet light.

She didn't roar. She never did. She shuddered the fabric of reality. Her entrance was silent save for the tremble in the air: a vibration deep in the bones of every living thing nearby.

The celestial draconic phoenix, better known as Sephiroth’s consort, had come.

Her body writhed with motion, tendrils from her wings writhing like blind serpents. Each one watched, blinked, and gave testament to the fight that would ensure that day. And every eye turned towards Bahamut.

The divine dragon released its blast, a lance of pure energy tearing toward Sephiroth with divine precision.

Bianca moved.

The world seemed to fold. A blur of feathers and corruption slammed into the energy just as it reached the man she loved.

The collision was catastrophic. More so than anything she had experienced before.

A soundless scream erupted, not from her throat but from the tendrils lining her wings. Her wings flared wide, as she devoured the flare, catching the unholy energy in the span of her being. The tendrils writhed, wrapping around the core of the blast, dragging it into her corrupted form.

The ground split. The sea boiled. Junon shook.

Bianca bled.

Not blood like a human. No. Not even like the blood that awakened after she was skinned alive by her father in her world. No. Viscous, radiant ichor seeped from the joints of her wings, hissing on the metal as it fell. Where it landed, it smoked and sang. It was a high-pitched noise like nails scraping along a chalkboard. Her wounds tore open along her shoulder. Her feathers singed and limbs trembled.

Then, her massive head tilted. Her eyes, all of them, narrowed on Bahamut with hatred older than time. He dared tried to kill her chosen one? He dared?!

Cloud stared, stunned.

“She’s—she was—” he started, stepping forward, memories flooding him. The girl, once on her knees within the Nibelheim reactor, moments from casting herself into the abyss to follow his rival, the girl he and Zack saved: Bianca. No. But this wasn’t her mortal guise. This was something else. Something born of stars, divine energy, and nightmare fuel.

“She doesn’t speak,” Sephiroth murmured across from him. His voice was reverent, as the madness of his obsession shone in his eyes. “But she is the voice of judgment. And you called down a god on me without understanding the consequences.”

Bianca didn’t hesitate. Her body shivered as dark storms gathered above her. The winds howled with a pitch that made Yuffie cover her ears and Barret snarl against the pressure. The heavens cracked as stars fell.

Not meteors. These were not celestial stones. These were dead stars, burning black at the core, trailing violet fire. They slammed into Bahamut’s wings, one after another, driving the beast backward in the air.

The king of dragons roared, retaliating with a surge of his own power, spearing Bianca through the torso with a column of raw energy. The beam pierced her. Her shriek split the air. Blood sprayed in a wide arc, burning the earth below into twisted glass.

Sephiroth's smirk dropped. Something dangerous and sacred entered his eyes: only a look that he had when he spoke of Mother.

He turned to Cloud. His tone was soft but lethal. “You harmed her.”

“She protected you,” Cloud growled. His friends staggered as the ground beneath them quaked again. “She was going to die. That day in Nibelheim. You broke her.”

"She was reborn." Sephiroth’s smile returned: eerie in its serenity. He moved. No one saw when he drew Masamune.

One moment he was standing. The next, he was soaring. His silver hair trailed behind him like a comet's tail. The sky screamed around him as he closed the distance between himself and Bahamut in an instant of impossible speed.

Bianca fell from the sky, crashing into the cliffside. The impact splintered stone, her wings folding protectively over her head. Her eyes blinked erratically across her scorched form. Her blood pooled beneath her, steaming in the rain. She did not rise.

Masamune sang.

It struck Bahamut through the neck, sliding in like water through silk. The divine dragon spasmed. His six wings flailed. Its eyes, wild with fury, met Sephiroth’s calm ones. However, Bahamut found nothing there in Sephiroth's gaze but worship. For her.

With a final push with his hand on the blade of the Masamune, Sephiroth drove the blade deeper, until the dragon’s throat cracked with a crunch of breaking bone. Blood splattered across Sephiroth's face, pauldrons, and chest.

Bahamut collapsed. His enormous body fell into Junon Bay with a splash that sent waves slamming into the docks. The sea frothed red, as the dragon vanished beneath the waves.

Below him, the cannon split down the middle with a groaning shriek. The metal moaned and twisted, cracking from the impact of Bianca’s sacrifice and the final clash of titans. It fell apart into the sea, swallowed by her blood and Bahamut’s disappearing corpse.

Sephiroth landed beside Bianca, kneeling as the rain hissed against her smoking form. He placed one of his hands on her side, feeling her labor breath beneath his fingers. Her body—massive, divine, monstrous, beautiful—was unraveling.

Tendrils once writhing with menace now sagged in ruin. Feathers blackened and fell like ash. Her wings, scorched and torn, convulsed as motes of her celestial essence shimmered in the air: tiny, glowing particles lifting from her flesh like dust in moonlight.

Trembling and slick with ichor, one of her many tendrils reached for him weakly. He caught it.

With care that defied his reputation, Sephiroth wrapped his hand around the dissolving limb. “You’re still perfect,” he whispered. His voice was raw. “Even as stardust.”

The wings continued to unravel. Her enormous eyes blinked across her body. Some were wild. Some dulled with pain. Each one slowly found him in unison. Her gaze was not pleading. It was trust.

She was dying. No. Not dying. Changing. Her form was too powerful and damaged to sustain in this plane.

And yet, Bianca could be saved.

Sephiroth's eyes narrowed. His single black wing flared wide, absorbing the storm's fury, as he continued to gently stroke her side. Black feathers fluttered against his bicep. "Not here, Bia."

With one last look at the battlefield, Cloud and his party, the ruin, and the fallen god which was half vanished behind them, Sephiroth disappeared in a burst of shadow. His wing folded against her side.

They reappeared deep in the heart of the North Crater, where silence reigned and the air vibrated with her broken magic. There, amidst the glacial walls and alien whispers pressing inside his mind, he laid Bianca's remaining essence gently onto the ground.

Bianca’s presence was faint, flickering, but alive, just not whole. He knelt beside her, hand resting over Bianca's gruesome heart.

“This world doesn’t deserve you,” he said quietly, his voice full of something dangerous and devout. “But I and Mother do.”

As her heart broke down and the dust slipped through his fingertips, the air pulsed once. The dust stirred. Bianca, the Harbinger of Destruction and Rebirth, began to reassemble.

Can we get some silly facts about your dra/sdra2 ocs :3 (beni, akira, mai, yukari, etc etc)

I added the random facts i got about Akira, Beni and Yukari in thes posts but I don't think I ever made one for Mai sooooo let's change that (even tho there's not many in regards to her)

-She's a huge Godzilla/Kaiju fan since she was a kid and Ippei used to take her to watch whatever new movie of it was coming out (he never understood what people found so fun in movies that are just huge monster destroys the city and fights other monsters). Her favorite Kaiju is Titanosaurs and she owns a bunch of VHSs and DVDs of Kaiju movies.

-She hates cooking and lives of take out and simple to put together meals. Her diet overall is really not that healthy, but Mai works out so much she ends up burning all the calories anyway. (She really loves drinking too!)

-Her apartment (Which is located within the Kisaragi foundation in living complex for those who work there) is very messy in the sense that things are stored wherever Mai finds it best to have them and not by conventional means; Why are there dumbells next to the bed? Morning workout, box of old classic music vinyls on top of the fridge? Easy to ignore his absence, Living room couch on the apartment balcony occupying the entire space there? Mai just likes the view, she's never been a huge fan of Tv anyway and she's put a big gym mat where the couch would be anyway. (Minako for sure brings this up as the reason she's never found a husband)

-Mai's the kind of person that will sometimes look at others around her age and think "What do you mean i could be a mother and ave children by now?? Huh? What?" (I don't think she necessarily wants to have children? At least not on her own account. If she got together with someone who really wanted them she would compromise)

-She often asks Ryutaro to help her put on the prosthetic for work. She like's the little guy a lot! She acts sorta like an aunt to him and became close to Midori by association.

-The reason Mai doesn't like using a prosthetic arm is because no matter how high quality it is it will never feel like how her actual arm used to and this difference annoys her more than having no second arm at all.

-When wearing it on missions tho, if things get rough, she has a habit of using the prosthetic as a shield/putting it in harm's way since it's just metal after all. The property damage annoys Kinjo at times, but it doesn't happen often enough for him to scold her for it.

-She is often regarded as immature for her age by a few peers. While that is true to an extent, Mai is incredibly proficient when it comes to work. More specifically;

-Bringing @despair-to-future-arcs Kisaragi foundation characters into the mix, Fukumi is one of her closest friends. They hang out outside of work and share secrets quite often.

-She initially got close to Naoto both out of them being assigned to train new members of Kinjo's division and their positions as 2nd and 3rd in command respectively, both of them have lost their families so there's a bond/mutual understanding on that fact as well.

-She may have a crush on him, but there's nothing much happening at the moment because Naoto is in an incredible bad mental health state and Mai doesn't have the ability to really help him given how she deals with a lot of issues through ignorance or distractions, which is really not what he needs. (She does genuinely care for him tho, and her inability to help him in a significant manner upsets her greatly.)

can i just say thank you for the “rules” around japanese names and honorifics because i feel like that’s something that gets lost in translation a lot. there’s so much emotional weight to shintaro calling kano shuuya and i love that kano still calls ayano neesan! i also really like an older post from you where shintaro gets really embarrassed saying takane and she asks him why he’s being so weird LOL

YEAH THATS RLY IMPORTANT!!!!! when i choose what they call each other it's a conscious decision from me.

i do skip honorfics though bc they feel like a mouthful in between the english also i need space in my text bubbles man 💔 but im super aware of them likeeee please im obsessed with these characters i know damn well the honorifics they all use. for example, kano (except for his siblings+mary) adds -kun to all the boys and -chan to all the girls and momo adds -chan to girls and -san to boys(not hibiya LOL!) and swore off calling shintaro oniichan (in kagefuture part 7 i make her say it cause i think it'd be cute for them to have a closer relationship in the future and since it meant so much to shintaro, she says it) (there will be a kisaragi siblings comic btw WHO SAID THAT!!!!)

and a running gag that gets lost in translation is shintaro being just shintaro. since momo's already called kisaragi by the dan, shintaro gets called his first name immediately and does complain it feels very unserious to be Just Shintaro. in kagefuture tho i make everyone say momo cause i think she'd prefer it after being friends for so long (and dating kido!)

erm anyways. the kagepro wiki actually has a chart for every character and what they call others. i already knew cause im obsessed but when i found it i was very pleasantly surprised :3

in canon mekatrio switching from last names to first names to last names again??? i like to think they switch it up as adults. they mostly use last names but will occasionally go for first names (kano says tsubomi in part 10 when he's teasing them, seto says shuuya in part 18 when kano's upset)

mekatrio actually say "neechan" in canon not "neesan" but. idk. i didnt wanna use neechan lol. i think i created a mandela effect for this cause when i first pointed out that i chose neesan deliberately i got ppl saying "WAIT THEY DONT SAY NEESAN?"

and if they're talking to each other about ayano, they say her name not neesan. bc in english it sounds a bit awkward to say "neesan said this"... idk, to me at least. in part 18 kano also drops the neesan and says ayano, and it really stuck with ayano cause even in part 20 she imagines him being like "her name's ayano, not neesan"

another one im always thinking of is kano using "ene" or "takane". he met her as takane and in the novels, as soon as she gets her body back he switches from ene to takane while everyone else keeps calling her ene. i thought that was interesting. i hc that post str, to fit in and because she asks him to, he calls her ene.

on takane, like u mentioned in my post, i like to think of it with shintaro cause in hs he called her enomoto and as ene she's ene. then switches to enomoto when he finds out but then they always reset time anyways so. post str, takane being annoyed she's still "enomoto" to him while everyone says takane or ene, she has to ask him and he's shy about it bc in his pov, he has never said takane to refer to her. but i like it bc it feels a little like a rebrand of their relationship since now they get to be friends properly like never before.

ocs like ayano's kids. they call her ayano, not mom. well, in part 20 i added one of them saying mom, but bc she was speaking of her in third person. then goes back to saying ayano. this is cause in the novels, ayaka tells mekatrio they can call her mom if they want while little bittle ayano Demands to be called neechan (so kano going for her name in part 18 REALLY hurts her). so i thought it'd be cute for grown ayano to act more like her mom, and for her kids to actually take a long long long time to call her mom (they probably start saying mom when baby is born and baby starts talking) and ayano, though she really wants to be called mom, is patient and doesn't push it at all.

shintaro saying shuuya is like. the one im unsure about cause i think shintaro's entirely clueless and if it wasn't for retaining eyes i would headcanon he thinks the trio are named kido kano and seto and their last name is tateyama. but of course he'd know also ayano's always saying their first names. anyways and i dont think kano would Seriously ask him to say shuuya. i think maybe kano refers to himself as shuuya and from hearing ayano so much, shintaro throws it around for moments like that (even all the way in part4, shintaro says shuuya after they fight) unfortunately i find it cute for shintaro to say shuuya. i think kano would like it. whatever man gayass bitches

also i think my shinaya fankid ayame gets the -chan from everybody. except shintaro&ayano i dont think they use honorifics for her. she's princess of the world btw spoiled ass kid

sorry this is long and very messy im just!! i pay attention to this OK. when i make mekatrio mention ayano to each other as "ayano" im like I HOPE PPL DONT THINK I FORGOT TO SAY NEESAN... IT JUST FEELS WEIRD TO USE NEESAN IN THIRD PERSON. im very weird everything i choose is very intentional.

🎃 Live Reports & Behind the scenes Pt.2

According to the interview from some audiences after the reveal of 6th’s and 7th’s cast, they thought it’s funny that team Bad Boy felt oddly cool to them, while on the other hand, team Hero were also cool but with even more chaotic vibes than the previous one —Everyone did wonder in unison that what went through the organizer’s head when they decided to put them together. Well, Raiden and Saji were the only exceptions since both of them were naturally pretty dedicated to their team titles.

Raiden got a bit carried away as he started laughing like some maniac by the end of his show. And in consequence of that, his temporary teammates were just… letting him be before all left the scene like nothing happened.

Since the beginning of the 9th show, the ladies of team “SolaLune Fairies” were seen solemnly walking out of the backstage with a dark long veil covering most part of their face and their outfits. Each of them were also noted to hold a bouquet with different flowers. Lola were red tulips, Evelyn were blue roses, Moriko were sunflowers, and Miku were moon orchids. But once the first beat of the song dropped out, they suddenly changed their moods and threw their veils away ...showing off their party dresses which were delicately designed just for each of them (ultimate kudos were given to those from the costume team). Thus, the true catwalk showdown began! 

After all the teasing to throw their bouquets to the audience like in the wedding, it was still unknown who those ladies decide to give their bouquets to at the end. Maybe it was their lover/ bestie or etc. Who knows anyway? But as the show title hinted, they might probably give it to their fairest…

Before the 10th show starts, the camera caught Kanade having a high-five with Lola in the same fashion as those two boys from the first half. 

Despite not being much active around these days, Hana Izanami (@snowmantita) was spotted coming here in secret to cheer for her friends.

The 11th show was obviously one of the best highlights of this event, given 6 of them were actually the famed performers to begin with! In addition, Queen card was the one who planned most details of the performance herself. Besides, some of them were really going all-out to the point where they attempted to compete with each other even. No wonder this show received very loud applause as a result, just like their team’s name implied.

There was one funny moment getting leaked out from the backstage. It was the photo of two gentlemen who literally had no idea why they were put in the same line with other talented showmen in the 11th show. Saigo seemed to be deep in thought about how much the staff have spent on props and special effects, while Nishio… He was caught flirting with other participants —Well, let’s hope that he wasn’t flirting with the wrong person there.

Despite the chill and anti-climax vibe that was very contrast to the intense impression from the previous show, the final show performed by team Bakemono was unexpectedly the children’s most favorite! Why was that? The secret of success not only lied in the lyrics of the song, but also its cute and catchy choreography. Moreover, they had also brought in the massive number of candies to throw into the crowd.

And due to some interviews with the parents, they told that this show truly deserved to be the closing show as it was in fact spoke the moral of this spooky event… 

Before the show started, it was a record of five of them chatting with each other. And although it was all according to the script, Asahi confessed that they had retaken it so many rounds he actually lost count of.

And just as the name of their team indicated, they were all wearing the yokāi costumes! For example, Asahi was the Oni, Kohaku was attempting to look like Kasa-obake (even if it came out rather funny), Taria was Karasu tengu, Honoka had animal ears so maybe she was bakeneko or kitsune, and Ayaka wore triangle headband with a kimono to represent the yurēi ghost.

From what live reports said, despite being the performers of the show, both Asahi & Kohaku were noted to really enjoy their time the most —These two spiritual(?) twins loved throwing candies like they’re playing with snow, while Honoka and Ayaka might seem a bit stiff due to their not so great experiences with people. However, Taria was the one making them warm up and enjoy the moment just like other children did —Who else would understand the kids best if not someone with a children’s heart?
