"Not a homemade one." She corrected, not really thinking about it. Honestly, it was simply how it was and she had far greater things the mourn then homebakes.

"And certainly not one made by Hidan?" Smiling faintly at her attempt at humour. She didn't expect him to know how to bake or cook at all. Perhaps she had to work more on how she perceived him.

Naturally, she made little grabby hand motions once he set the tray beside her. The smell alone made her stomach rumble. So when he stopped her, her brows knitted together as she looked at him with a pained expression. "But why?"

Konan would lift herself to sit on top of the counter, her leg swinging slightly as she was perfectly content to watch Hidan bake. Her eyes sparkled with amusement as her new place, making it easier to see what he was doing

"Ten minutes." She repeated quietly, checking the clock on the wall to note the time. It might just be the longest ten minutes of her life.

"I'm so excited to see how these come out." The confession may be small, but her quiet voice was full of wonder as her heart leapt at the chance to finally have a fresh baked cookie. The closest she had gotten was cookies from a packet, and even then, that was a rare luxury.

I feel like @sloaners fic, Akatsuki Babysitter's Club is such a classic naruto fic, definitely up there in "the fics most ever" but I can recognize Im possibly biased and projecting my own experience w the fic onto the fandom

Either way, it's a classic in my heart <3

Anyways I re-read it yesterday, and it was just as much of a riot as the first time I read it. Then I laid down to sleep and stared at the ceiling then shot up and immediatley went to my tablet and the next thing I knew it was 8 am and I hadn't slept at all, but I did make this cute comic for the fic, so !!!

Redesign of the Akatsuki robes bc I really like its design but it would have been more interesting if every Akatsuki wore it differently.

More details:

The length of the sleeves and robe depends on the need for mobilty of each character, which in turn depends on their fighting styles and abilities. Characters like Kisame and Sasori have shorter sleeves bc they need their arms free to fight. Itachi wearing a longer robe is bc he usually fights with genjutsu, it is also a sign of shameless pride to boast that he doesn't need movement to defeat an opponent.

Uchiha clothing usually have that same high collar thingy that the base Akatsuki robe gets and Obito and Itachi wear it open on purpose, to show their distance with the clan. Also Obito's collar gets bigger and pointier with each change.

Obito's shift from Tobi to Madara makes it seem like he tore his long sleeves. His silhouette is also hidden until the war where he becomes more reckless and stops caring about hiding his identity so carefully. He also got rid of the sleeve that hid the zetsu arm, the not-human one (both bc of symbolism and bc he tends to lose the arm often).

Hidan and Kakuzu seemingly represent the opposite of their themes, religion and money respectively. Hidan looks like a half naked anarchist (which is kind of way off "orthodoxy vibes") though he still has the Jashin jewlery. On the other hand Kakuzu looks homeless but that's bc he's so greedy and stingy he refuses to buy more clothes.

Pain/Nagato and Konan are the only ones with the basic robe bc they're the ones who feel more emotionally connected to the Akatsuki. They get more red bc of the "blood rain" symbolism.

I tried to add to those few hints at modern vibes in Deidara and Hidan's base designs while keeping the shinobi aesthetic bc it fits their character, and after all they are the youngest.

Overall I also did some small redesigns to everyone's base character design.

It was challenging to play around with the Akatsuki robe while also trying to make their character designs more telling of how they are as people but that's precisely why it was fun. I'll be using these when drawing the Akatsuki from now on.

I genuinely wonder what was going through Nagato’s head when he recruited the Akatsuki. Because all of the members are literally so diverse and odd that I’m completely convinced he just saw S-Rank on the bingo book and let them in.

Konan: Ok, we have a literal shark that swings a sword about.

Nagato: Amazing, he’s in.

Konan: He needs a partner, what about this family murdering 13 year old that may or may not be suicidal?

Nagato: Didn’t that Madara guy give him a recommendation? Let him in.

Konan: A money obsessed freak who may or may not commit tax evasion.

Nagato: That’s exactly what we need. Let him in.

Konan: An insane cultist who…sacrifices people to his God? Ok, I don’t think we should let this one in.

Nagato: We encourage religious differences here, let him in.

Konan: Your funeral I guess. What about this really insane guy who has puppets of his dead parents?

Nagato: I don’t know why but this sounds familiar…eh, let him join.

Konan: A terrorist who—

Nagato: I’ve heard enough. He’s in.

Konan: …ok then. And finally, a venus flytrap.

Nagato: lmao that’s hilarious. Let whatever that is in here.

The smile that spread across her face almost seemed genuine, easy. She had no issues meeting his emotionless eyes with her own cold stare, but her brows would raise at his audacity to try intimidated her.

"You're not a partner." She cooed mockingly, watching as he strolled ahead. "That would incline that you are my equal."

His nickname irritated her, she wasnt sure if he was suggesting something from quoting the Jashinist, and if so, that did worry her.

"You've been nothing more than a hindrance to this rather simple mission and a means to an end in the grander scheme." She was all too aware that Nagato wouldnt care for her leaving Sasori behind, infact he would more then likely encourage it after hearing of his blantant disrespect. But she herself felt the need to prove she wasnt going to back down from any man.

"As for my makeup... I've more important things to care about than something as superficial as appearance." Doll face.

"Tsk." Turning her nose up at the man, she refuses to engage any more than needed, it would only end badly.

She wouldnt even look at him as he read out the scroll, her back stiff as she looked ahead into the trees of the direction they needed to go. "Then go back if its so below you." She snaps finally at his last comment, holding her hand out for the scroll she will finally turn to look at him. "I don't need you to be here, go back the base or whatever you do and I have this mission done by nightfall."

Would Pein lose his mind if he found out, absolutely! But she had no intention of telling him if it meant she never had to hear another complaint from the puppet again.

Naruto fandom will always have different takes about certain aspects of the story over the years. But I like that we all seem to agree that Konan's 600 billion paper bomb attack against Tobi is both, a) absolutely ridiculous, and b) should've won her that fight
