The frosty zephyr nipped at his skin as Jason shoved his hands into his jeans pockets. Shifting his weight as he found a spot to wait for Jess, his gaze darted around, taking in the premises. It wasn't his first time here, nor will it be the last. Jess had told him to meet her here. She had been busy with rehearsals but it never seemed to bother him - that was the advantage of being your own boss. After making sure Jacqueline and his crew had everything they needed, Jason could always come and go whenever he pleases at his club. Minutes ticked by and he saw other dancers from Jess' company trickle past him. He craned his neck to keep a lookout for her.

As soon as his gaze fell on Jess, a slow, languid smile had taken over his lips. There was something about the way her chocolate tresses frame her gentle face coupled with that ever-present sparkle in her hazel-green eyes. Jason raised a hand to wave at Jess, making a move to close the distance between them. "Hey, beautiful. You had a good rehearsal?" He reached out to move a strand of hair swept across her face and tucked it behind her ear. "I hope you're hungry because I am." He half-chuckled, almost embarrassed at how prompt his stomach had growled. Jason laced his fingers with hers, intertwining them. The warmth radiating from her was enough to make him content. "Burger and fries sound good right?"

His grandfather always told him to travel light - life gives you enough burdens to carry.

Byeongkwan never understood it. How could he? What burdens did he have to carry back then? ...Other than maybe an oversized backpack and his disdain for eating cucumbers.

Now the sentiment takes on a whole new meaning. Life had thrown so many punches over the years - jabs, hooks, crosses, and a few final uppercuts - that it was all finally starting to make sense.

So, it doesn't take more than an hour to clear his things out of the trainee dorm - for good this time, is what he tells himself. Though, he'd been mistaken before. He fears jumping the gun, getting overzealous prematurely. He drops another shoe ( one he can control ) into the garbage bag he's designated for overflow from his suitcase and heaves a long sigh.

His grandfather failed to mention that the traveling itself can still feel so burdensome.

Perhaps it is more of the fear of the unknown that leaves him feeling somewhat apprehensive. Not knowing what lies up ahead. One step forward and he's certain that the road doesn't get any easier from here. And his mind still likes to play its little tricks, concocting various twists and turns and immovable mountains that leave him wandering aimlessly again. Is it worth it? Will it be worth it? He hasn't a clue.

But as he steps through the doors leading to what will become his new home - a phrase in itself he's never been quite comfortable with - he feels... lighter.

He didn't need his grandfather to tell him that having someone there to share those burdens and carry some of the load could make all the difference. Turn a treacherous trek into somewhat of an adventure. ( Cheesy in every sense of the word, but stick with him here - ).

He's one of the last to move in, the dorm already bustling with activity. He wastes no time getting settled, even if it means lazily tossing his belongings into his shared bedroom before shuffling into each room to greet the others. ...And to lament over the first floor private bathroom he'd be missing out on. "It's just not fair," he whines to the camera in his hand, shaking his head as he mourns. He's neglected to film much more than he'd like during their 'break,' but the move gives him something to talk about, something to be excited for.

"Are you ready for the world tour? ...Alright, we're not there yet, but maybe one day soon. Can't ever stop thinking big, but lets start small... Check out the patio, yeah?" A quick pan to show off the space before he flops himself onto one of the couches. "Nice!"

From there the words continue to flow in an endless stream of consciousness. His ideas for the space, plans for the day ahead, goals for the future - their future. He could breathe a little out here. Bask in the accomplishment of making it here. He's made his peace with the setback and the shaky ground they'd all been clinging onto. But in this moment his feet are on solid ground... and his head on is a soft cushion that's got him prepared to drift off mid-sentence and...

He feels okay.

And if he's being honest, it's probably the first time he has in quite some time.

i decided to reach out to my ex's ex right before me and she ended up telling me a whole bunch of shit he did to her that he also did to me and he pretty much r-worded her...i feel horrified, humiliated, disgusted, and filled with so much shame that i ever thought i was in love with this abusive piece of fucking shit. he coerced and guilted me multiple times into sex (which i now know is also assault) but like the specifics of her story make me want to crawl in a hole and rot.

I'm just gonna say, you are probably going to be a happier and healthier person by not watching Ahsoka. It was everything dumb about mando s3 cranked up to 11 since filoni has zero oversight now apparently and can run wild butchering his own characters for sick amusement all for the sake of his Heir to the Empire fanfilm while simultaneously actively ignoring the existence of the OT core 3.

I mean, I guess. I'm just disappointed because I wanted to treat this show like a show that exists to keep half my brain occupied while the other half does other shit. Background noise, y'know? But even before the deets about episode 4 came out, I was thinking, "Man, do I want to keep watching?" People make a lot of jokes about Filoni not giving a shit about giving people context because the context is in the animated shows and other people say he has every right to do so because it'll encourage people to try out TCW and Rebels and not see them as "for kids" by virtue of being animated rather than live-action, and it's both funny and insulting to me. It's funny that he don't give a fuck and it's insulting that I have to figure out how to manage my time to squeeze in two full series just to understand a spinoff of the Mando Show. Guess this show just isn't for me. I'll do my due diligence by collecting the episodes but we'll see if and when I decide to pick it up again.

having lucky in her chair meant that salem was a bit more chipper than usual. something about him entertained her, and whenever he stepped foot in the fishery, she couldn't help but grin. it was like she was making up for her years she spent as a miserable child, friendless and alone. and maybe salem was delusional in thinking she and lucky were friends; for all she knew, he just viewed her as another tattoo artist, only going to her because the options were so slim around town. but deep down, she hoped that he at least considered them friendly, and until she got confirmation of any of that, she was going to remain blissfully unaware.

"alright. chair's all ready for you." salem chirped happily, already turning to reach for a new set of gloves. her routine for sanitizing her station could be extensive at times, but she just wanted to make sure everything was as clean as humanly possible. but as she looked back at lucky with a sweet smile, she patted the chair, an invitation for him to occupy it. even with the absolute nightmare happening outside, she was happy to have work as a distraction, especially when the client in her chair was lucky. "what am i stabbing into your skin today? i hope it's something fun."
