☣️ LAVA LAMP MEWTWO REF V.2 ☢️

Upon first glance, one can easily tell they are shorter and more colorful than a regular Mewtwo. They are a foot smaller than their predecessor, and possess bright colors due to continued and extensive testing on the Mew/Mewtwo genes. They are the results of more gene splicing, as well as radioactive and chemical testing. Many of them have claws, and more feline like features. Lava Lamp Mewtwo tend to radiate heat and warmth. While normally feline in appearance, they can be born or created with traits of different creatures. Some examples have been more canine, and some almost rat like.

“Shiny” lava lamp Mewtwo do not exist, due to their ever mutating genes. They can take on just about any color combo or pattern, but usually sport bright neons or saturated hues.

The neck tube(s) and stomach/tails of the Lava Lamp Mewtwo hold a warm, firey energy as well as a strange substance that floats and bubbles around within them (what is considered their ‘blood’ or ‘life source’). The bubbles and ‘lava’ tend to collect in the stomach/tail tip/ and neck tube area. The fluid is newtonian like in thickness, and highly toxic.

They are psychic (but not very good with their abilities), but also possess some fire and poison powers they use with their ‘lava’. While not as aggressive as normal Mewtwo, they can still be quite hostile and deadly to those unfortunate enough to make them angry. Those that do them wrong suffer radiation poisoning and toxic burns.

Lava Lamp Mewtwo are bioluminescent, and can glow in the dark! The ‘lava’ parts of their bodies are what glow. They prefer dark, warm areas, and have poor eyesight and defense in bright areas. Many can be found in ruined/abandoned factories or nuclear power plants in the dark that are not hospitable to normal creatures. They love to snack on strange chemicals and biohazardous, radioactive waste.

Lava lamps are not considered a “rare” or “legendary” due to their number and gene mutation. Seeing them flock in an area is usually a sign of an experiment or facility gone out of control. Watch out!

Plus there’s always the threat of humans coming and trying to catch us. But, I don’t really mind hanging out in here. We are surrounded by a beautiful forest, and it’s easy to leave. This cave is just like a little house! I made this cave myself and can add any additions at any time, and it gives us privacy from the community in the forest! I couldn’t ask for anything more. It’s not as bad when you have as many pillows as we do.. and it doesn’t get too hot in the summer!!!”

        mewtwo was not unaccustomed to the reaction they gave - most humans were able to sense the vague feeling of tension in mewtwo’s aura, like the air that grew charged before a storm. while mewtwo was not entirely in control of it, it had served them well - scaring away the more fainthearted humans and unnerving the more foolhardy. their scrutinizing, scowl-like expression likely did absolutely nothing to lessen the feeling of their presence, either.

        the answer caught them off guard, and mewtwo blinked a few times in surprise to hear that mew was…choosing to remain here. around humans, and not other pokemon. if they were to be believed, the human described mew as being in far better shape than they recalled leaving them in with rosa. physically, at least. “ what do you mean by ‘not okay’? ” that guilty feeling intensified, crawling up through their ribcage to grab at their heart, and even their steely expression faltered for a moment. ( ‘ a WILDFIRE DESTROYS everything in it’s path! ‘ they heard repeatedly in their memory, and mewtwo winced slightly, struggling to regain their stoic demeanor. their emotions were still raw and volatile. )

       “ … yes. “ they didn’t like the idea of following anyone, much less a stranger who likely knew more about them than the other way around. but mewtwo owed it to their counterpart to check on them, at the very least. “ you will show them to me. ” it wasn’t a question nor mewtwo taking anda up on their offer - mewtwo’s voice held the feeling of a demand yet again.

Almost as if they winced in pain, the empath blinked a tear from their vision, wiping it away with a finger. The pressure this being emitted was... intense.

If Mew was a primordial god, then what was Mewtwo...?

“I mean that, physically, they’re not hurt. When Rosa brought Co--er. Mew over, they were in pretty bad shape. Those’ve healed up and they’re fine. But I think they had a really rough time recently where they weren’t able to get any help, so they’re like... stressed out, and toss in their sleep.”

Very carefully, Anda walked back to the house, hating very much having to turn their back on Mewtwo. But this wasn’t exactly something they could back out of. The other was clearly worried (if confused about it, maybe.) Maybe they’d have an easier time inside the barrier, without all the white noise of the city’s emotions.

Unlocking the front door, they stepped inside first, holding it open for the other. Activity stopped in the mice cage in the living room, and all three creatures watched the presence enter the house.

“They’re up here. Just, don’t wake ‘em up.” ... “...Please.

Very bold demand to make of Mewtwo, but, well. Mew’s comfort was important too.

Gently and quietly, they opened the door to their room in the tower of the El Melloi household. The faint smell of lavender and rosemary came from the oil diffuser, and the curtains were drawn to keep the space dark. A lava lamp bubbled on the nightstand, next to an empty picture frame. Posters and records adorned the walls, and a few stray clothes were in random places on the floor. A strange glowing, flowering vine had almost taken over an entire corner of the room.

On the bed, curled up on a pillow and covered with a blanket was a little mew-sized lump, sleeping soundly (for now.)

The empath watched the other with a cautious eye; clearly intimidated but at the ready, in case something went wrong.
