I'm gonna re-watch the first Thor movie like how I re-watch Lazarus Rising. Knowing it's the beginning of an era for a beloved character, and also knowing that character doesn't get their happiest ending. I'll look back on where they came from, understanding that they were happy sacrificing that happiness for the person/people they loved. That they grew to love in the first place. That they were capable of loving this whole time even when everyone thought it was impossible. They both committed atrocities and hurt countless people, but In the end, they were good. And kind. And their sacrifice meant the world to so many people.

Dean had long lost track of the days, hours, minutes that had gone by while he was strung up on Alistair’s rack. The torture sessions bled together into one long continuous sensation of pain. Even when he ‘healed’ it hurt. It was maddening, and the fact that he’d started to black out during Alistair’s visits didn’t help. 

“You’re staring to look worn out there Winchester,” Alistair had remarked at one point, carving his face like a pumpkin. Dean couldn’t respond without his eyes or mouth, but that didn’t matter much to the demon. “At this rate, you won’t last another ten years. All you have to do is say yes boy, and it’ll all stop.”

He refused, giving a weak thrash. “Well, there’s always the spare I suppose..” Alistair muttered, voice fading as he presumably left.

That sentence fueled his resolve. He wouldn’t let them get Sam. They couldn’t have him, nobody could, not as long as he was conscious. 

“WINCHESTER!”

Right. Alistair was crucifying him currently. How long was he out? Even the demon seemed vaguely concerned. Dean glared at him, or at least, tried to. He couldn’t move. Come to think of it, he couldn’t feel anything either. From his current vantage point, it seemed like he was on the cross. But he couldn’t feel the nails. He couldn’t feel anything, not even pain! If he could’ve he’d have been grinning.

He was so happy he didn’t even notice his vision darkening of Alistair fleeing the scene.

Supernatural September: A Prompt List

I love a prompt list, I love a little event, I love low-key and flexible "deadlines" so here's something encompassing that energy.

Hey question for the long time Destiel fan, why is their anniversary February 14th? I'm still pretty new to the fandom and I'm not fully done with Supernatural so is there something I missed? Did somebody say something and we were all in agreement? Did Lazurus Rising come out that day? I need to know.

season 4 episode 1 lazurus rising castiel has his fucking jessica rabbit ass entrance, walks up to dean winchester, says 'what's the matter, you don't think you deserve to be saved?' and maybe after watching the winchester brothers pussyfoot around the same character arc 20 billion billion times that filthy fucking read was the exact catharsis needed to scramble every last noodle in my skull forever
