Solo EP/Sock Puppet/Venting Anon

Anon.  In my attempt to edit my response (it didn't bold the lyrics) I accidentally deleted the post with your ask (thankfully drafted in my notes. Tumblr app is killing me).  So sorry.  It was an excellent ask. 

You were venting about the IG and how she's upset that the solo tunes haven't been released.  And stated that a musician owes us nothing and that you were annoyed with people complaining. 

 My response:

Good Morning Anon! (Or afternoon/evening).  

I can't comment on the IG. Simply don't care anymore.  But you are correct.  A musician owes us nothing and it is critical Darren releases his EP on his terms. 

And I have much to say on the solo EP.  I'm going to say something unpopular. Although it shouldn't be.  Honestly everyone in this community should feel the same.  I'm thrilled the EP is unreleased.  

That's right.  I'm very happy.  Why?  Because I don't want one more major career achievement tainted by that toxic woman.  Or one more song slanted to be about her.  

And I'll go further.  I actually think this is something Darren has fought hard to delay and I believe he too does not want it released until he is free and uninhibited.  Remember, many battles have been waged, he has lost many, but I think he has battled the hardest for the things most important to him. His solo EP being one of them. My opinion, of course, based on observation, particularly with CG. 

I believe CG was conceived for two reasons. Clearly to help Chuck through an extremely difficult time in his life.  But he's not the only one who benefited.  I believe, in large part, CG was used in lieu of the solo tunes to allow her to capitalize on promotion and such associated with music.  Something I think she demanded. 

Fact.  She was front and center at show #1 with her NYC "squad" showing off to fans.  

Fact. This show was held at a venue owned by Uncle Beard (built by daddy).  

Fact.  She's all over the ESN video.  

Fact.  She was mentioned countless times in press promoting the band.  

Fact.  At show number 2.  Also at a venue owned by Uncle Beard.  She showed off her "directorial" skills to fans.  Make no mistake. That was very deliberate. They needed the news out into the world that she was directing. What better way to do this than to film live with an audience full of M fans. Many of whom immediately tweeted about it.  Major Promotion and build up to the big release.  

Fact.  LBL video.  We all watched what went down the day that was released. Darren (and Chris) spent a large amount of money to produce and promote this video.  This was intentional.  This was the major pay out. It was excessive. Way over the top.  Extremely grating. Disrespectful to Chuck (but I think he agreed).  But most importantly, absolutely necessary to progress forward.   

 Bonus.  It promoted Uncle Beard's LA venue as well 

Interesting fact on CG.  There is one real love song on that EP.  And Darren has gone out if his way to mention on multiple occasions that Chuck wrote that song.  Why?  He wants there to be no speculation it's about her.  So he's slammed the door shut on that notion (for the record. I still believe it's about Chris. But my opinion doesn't change the story sold).  

Now aren't you glad this isn't his solo music??

Moving on to the solo EP.  We've heard 3 songs that could potentially be on the album.  

Going Nowhere.  One if the few songs Darren has ever written with the female pronoun.  Conveniently a break up type song. So no one can  attribute it to her.  I think a deliberate choice to play this live as a preview to his solo music knowing he was playing the PR game but it could not be associated with the woman his been with since the Palaeozoic Era.    

Foolish Thing.  depending on your perspective there's room for argument. So I won't touch this one. 

The Day the Dance is Over. I also will say this was a deliberate release and the first song he gifted us that's potentially from his EP.  Darren has written many songs I'd say are about Chris.  Words. I Don't Mind.  Rise is absolutely about their relationship.  This Time has strong CC overtones.  But I'd say none are as blatant as The Day the Dance is Over. There is no way this song can be attributed to his "perfect" PR relationship with his lovely lady of many, many moons that seemingly has had no ups and downs and zero obstacles.  And I think that by playing this song twice now, Darren is laying the groundwork for his future.  And I'd bet he doesn't want an official release until it is very clear what this song is NOT about.   Some of my favorite lyrics:

In summary,  I for one am ecstatic that Darren has fought to release his EP, his way.  On his terms.  When he is free. Honestly, I couldn't be prouder.

I hope he wins this battle. We all know how quickly this can changed. He has earned the right to release this on his terms.

Day and Night performers! The eccentric storyteller, Dalton, who is quite popular with the kids because of his happy and cheerful attitude. The puppeteer, Seth, who shows the stories of what happens, he resonates with the quieter and creative kids, for he is the same, but he’s entertaining to watch with his body language and facial expressions (he doesn’t always wear a veil but it’s there cuz im being dramatic lol). The main actress, Rosie, who helps with the many voices of the stories, being popular with the younger girls of course. And the musician, Gordon who plays incredible music to accompany the stories. Because I love space motifs they resemble space: Sun, moon, stars, and earth. I’m thinking they tell stories of legends and maybe even of creation day which is a holiday I’m creating. They are also not wearing clothes because… I didn’t want to draw clothes.

Tho lbl is surrounding Links that are from the actual games, it’s fun having it be in a completely new and original world, cuz that means I can create my own worldbuilding with cute things like this! So yeah, all ocs, all fun :))) I sure do hope one of the members doesn’t go crazy and kidnap fourteen heroes from their homes and timelines. That’d be bad.
