Bruce Wayne is a Titanic nerd. he got hyperfixated with her in childhood and still sometimes reads articles and watches documentaries

because Bruce is all about contingency plans. and the Titanic was called the unsinkable ship for a reason. she had more lifeboats than average, could stay afloat even with breaches and with up to four flooded decks. she was one of the most secure ships at the time

and she still sank during her debut trip

and Bruce is obsessed with it. he read tons of articles about the Titanic and noted every single thing gone wrong in his teenage years. and now, being Batman, he adds one or two more contingency plans than needed to the missions, because he always remembers that more than average might not be enough

Harry heard his voice from three compartments away.

You have it bad, a treacherous voice teased from deep inside his head. It was like an amalgamation of Sirius and John's most incessant ribbing, yet somehow worse, because he was thinking it to himself.

The shades were drawn so Harry couldn't see in very clearly. He hesitated, trying to guess who Theo might be talking to. Based on the shadows, it looked like only one person. Seeing as all the prefects were currently meeting, he was fairly certain it was Zabini.

I can handle Zabini, he thought confidently.

Theo was sitting right next to the door with his long legs propped out. He leveled Harry with an ice-cold glare for about one second before recognizing him.

"Oh, hey!" He sat up clumsily. "That was -"

"Your hair!" Harry gasped, sliding the compartment door all the way open with a loud thawp! He braced his hands on either side of the doorframe, staring open-mouthed at Theo. "Where - what - your hair is short!"

Several emotions flashed over Theo's face at once. "Do you think I look hideous?"

Harry heard John bark a laugh in the corridor behind him. "No!" Harry's face started heating up. "No! Not at all." And he didn't. Unfairly, he looked even better. Theo's hair was shorter, yes, but it framed his face very nicely. It looked soft and shiny. Harry had the overwhelming urge to reach forward and pull one finger through the long bangs that hung on either side of his face like he would with the silky green grass at Roebuck Falls.

Theo's face had a little color to it, too. The shadows under his dark blue eyes were gone. For the first time ever, Harry noticed a smattering of pale freckles on his cheeks.

"But?" Theo prompted, eyes narrowed dangerously.

"But what about your braids?" Harry said helplessly.

A snort to his left nearly dragged his attention away, if he had not seen Theo's annoyance melt instantaneously to a pale pink blush. "My braids," Theo muttered, shaking his head. He turned to show Harry the back of his hair.

Harry breathed a sigh of relief. Theo's hair was still long, just artfully held together in a messy braid that held it off the nape of his neck, making it look like his hair was cut short.

"Oh!" Harry tried to recover some of his composure. "You, um, look bett - er, I mean, good - you know, um - healthy and much, like, just, better…I guess?" Theo's eyebrows climbed higher and higher as he spluttered nonsensically. He wanted to shove both fists in his mouth and scream.

Harry just settled for covering his face with hands and letting out a loud groan.

"So do you want to come in?" Theo asked dryly, "Or do you want to go away and try again in five minutes?"

Wow, people weren't kidding. Gale really goes straight from awkward and surprised babbling at any hint of flirtation to just full on ride or die declarations on the battlefield, huh? It's not just a 'Fighting makes me horny' conversation, it's an 'I cannot imagine anything more beautiful than you. You own my heart. I am devoted to you,' conversation.

Man has zero chill and could not care less about Shadowheart and Astarion standing awkwardly right next to them, huddling for light. Nor the corrupted corpse less than 10 feet away.

I am haunted by the ghost of yours even in my subconscious like an old victorian castle. The more i try to close my eyes the more clearly i hear . And the worst part is that this time I don’t even want to face them. You are a chapter I never want to open beacause I am too scared to stuck up again in that bad loop.

What do I do to get you out if my life. That not even just a mere thought of yours could rattle me like nothing ever did. Please leave me alone I am better off you.

logged into Netflix for the first time in a while looking for something brain dead I can watch while I zone out before I go to bed and Netflix immediately hits me with “suggestions for tonight! Explore personalised picks” so I go yeah sure why not and the first film on the list is 2004 classic The Day After Tomorrow. I’ve never felt more called out

Heyo, happy new year! I had commented on your Luca fanart the other day; I just finished The Unbroken, and had a great time with it! It was something that had sort of been on my periphery for some time, even before I read TLT, as a couple people I followed had done fanart of it. Though to be fair, I think it could have been more accurately named "Touraine and Luca make increasingly bad decisions for a few hundred pages," because every time I thought the disaster had peaked, one of them would find a way to outdo themselves, and it was spectacular xd. I've already checked out the second one from the library, we'll have to get to that soon!

I was listening to the audiobooks last week and I remember getting to the night after the festival and thinking ‘ah so we now leave the fun part and get to the fucking up and then making everything progressively worse part’ but I TOTALLY forgot how bad all of that was :D

Well! I do wish you the best of luck with the faithless as it is… well I don’t think as catastrophical as the unbroken but maybe that’s just because the bar is so low after the first book :) and please do come back to let me know what you thought of it (and the end)

"We should probably tell Sirius, first," Harry decided, making a face. "I don't know if he'd stop us from going to Gringotts, but we might have to convince him."

Theo felt all hope of getting a wand in hand start to slip away. "Okay."

"Let's go do it now!" Harry said, "He's just in the other room, I think."

"Can I brush my teeth first? Maybe look...presentable?" He was still wearing the crumpled white t-shirt and sweatpants he fell asleep in. "I don't think he'll take us very seriously if I look like this."

"Oh, you're not..?" Harry looked him up and down, "But I thought you looked - I mean. You look grea - er, fine, you look good - you know, like, presentable. And all that."

Theo gave him his most incredulous stare, an expression he'd admired and stolen from McGonagall's face when someone did something particularly stupid in class. Harry turned beet red.

"Harry, I look like I just got out of bed after having the worst sleep of my life. I would know. I was standing in front of the mirror before you came in."

Harry could not look any more mortified, and it was doing wonders for Theo's mood. He felt the corners of his mouth pulling up and tried to hide it.

"Er, I, uh," Harry stumbled for the door. "I don't know. Look at me, I'm not exactly an expert on what looks good. Uh, anyway, I'm going to go get my backpack to store your notebook while you get dressed or whatever and I'llberightbackbye!"

He whipped out of the room as quickly as possible, banging the door shut.
