Oh god, so many.

Like, soooo many.

I decided to do just the biggest heart-attack inducing event for each kid.

Miranda: She's well-behaved, so the biggest moment was when she first got her gift at age eight and almost floated off into the stratosphere XD.

Amelia: At fifteen, she snuck out with her girlfriend and they got caught kissing....rather passionately.

Sofía: Got angsty one time at age ten and decided that she wanted to live in the walls like her father did. She was missing for half a day, and everyone was panicking.

Princesa: At the ripe old age of six, she was experimenting with her gift and almost caused a rock slide.

Fuega: She was twelve, and got so angry at one of the townspeople that instead of bursting into flames, she just straight up passed out for a minute.

Leta: That time she tried to climb the walls of the Encanto and fell like fifty feet, breaking her arm. I'd say she was around sixteen or so.

Andrés: When he first got his gift and just straight up vanished from sight lol.

Carlos: When he duplicated his birthday cake one too many times and made himself sick. He was five, this was the night he got his gift.

Avila: When she was nine, she wanted to see if she could freeze herself in time. Turns out she can, but when she's frozen, she can't unfreeze herself until it wears off. The family was actually very worried that she'd be stuck like that forever.

Amada: Got angry when she was eleven, and went to go sulk in the town's canal. Turns out, her water powers also let her breathe underwater, which no one knew.

Tomás: Tried to hover a giant wagon with his powers, and almost dropped it on his head. He was around eight or so.

Rómulo: When he was seven, he used his super speed to jump out of one of Mariana's portals, and ended up running himself straight into the ground. He was very injured. Did that stop him from doing it again? No.

Zoe: Straight up wandered away from her family while in town when she was five. They spent hours looking for her, only to discover that she'd found a tree to take a nap under.

Hugo: He befriended a big-ass spider, and let it crawl around on his head for a few months, until it died. He was nine.

José: Swindled a few men from the city for around 100 Colombian Pesos. They were not happy, and were actually probably gonna hurt José if they didn't get their money back. Luckily the family were able to yeet them out of the Encanto before anything got bad. José was nine, and very very very grounded.

Héctor: When he was five, he turned into an elephant to show off, and passed out after three seconds of transformation.

Óscar: Soon after he got his gift, he had a huge meltdown because he was seeing ghosts and things that other people couldn't see. The family was worried he was seriously hurt or something.

Beatriz: Was trying so hard to keep a surprise birthday party a secret, she projectile vomited all over the kitchen table. Poor kid was six, and so embarassased.

Lidia: Had a temper tantrum at age five, and made a scribble monster that wrecked havoc on the town until Pepa made it rain.

Javier é o primogênito de Lidia Corsini, atual prefeita de Monteluna, e o único dos três irmãos que decidiu nunca ir embora. Para ele, a cidade é como uma memória viva onde construiu raízes. Cresceu como o filho que não dava trabalho, que sempre tentava antecipar um problema para não ter que lidar com a consequência dele mais tarde e, de forma inconsciente, assumiu a responsabilidade deixada pelo pai assim que o falecimento aconteceu: se tornou o responsável pela proteção da mãe e das irmãs, fazendo o possível para que nunca faltasse companheirismo e apoio dentro de casa.

Não é um homem que fala sobre sentimentos por fugir da posição de vulnerável, mas, ironicamente, faz parte do corpo de bombeiros de Monteluna desde os vinte anos. Construiu sua carreira no quartel com muito empenho, descontando no trabalho toda a frustração que a morte do pai o trazia e foi ali que encontrou sua segunda família. Anos depois, foi promovido à capitão dos bombeiros e é onde permanece até hoje. Um cargo que parece ter sito feito para Javier, que conhece as ruas, os pontos altos e baixos de Monteluna de olhos fechados.

A chegada dos novos moradores ainda é uma questão ambígua para Javier. Por um lado, sente que aquela é a oportunidade perfeita para conhecer o mundo pois nunca saiu de Monteluna, mas por outro, se preocupa com a segurança das pessoas que se mudaram para casas muitas vezes precárias oferecidas a um euro. Para Javier, parte das casas representa perigo, seja para a cidade, por conta dos riscos de incêndio, quanto para quem escolheu viver nelas. Não é raro vê-lo oferecendo palestras sobre reformas seguras, sempre buscando prevenir acidentes antes que aconteçam.

Secret Christmas Gift 3

This is the third secret gift story. This one is for @xbalayage and was actually the inspiration behind this endeavor. I was stuck on a lot of my wips and thought I want to put something out to clear my head then thought ehh do a Silvio story at least xbalayage will read it and then I expanded it to a few other people and it became this secret story gift idea. I hope you enjoy it and Merry early Christmas and Happy New Year!

Decorating Mishap

Christmas time had come again and Emma had decided this year she wanted to try doing something with Silvio from her childhood Christmases, but she never would of imagined she'd end up like this. It started earlier that day in the kitchen…

Rio: How can you be so bad at this? I mean children do this all the time.

Silvio: Shut up!

Emma: Rio.

Silvio made a face at Rio and Emma rolled her eyes at him. Just then the walls of Silvio’s gingerbread house collapsed in on themselves again.

Silvio: Damn it, this is dumb.

Silvio flopped down onto a stool with an agitated look on his face.

Rio: I don't think it's dumb.

Silvio: Oh ya?

Silvio reached out to swipe at Rio's house as Rio wrapped his arms around it protectively.

Emma: Silvio stop it.

Emma reached out grabbing Silvio's wrist and he jerked his hand back.

Silvio: I keep tellin you to warn me before you do that!

Emma: And I keep telling you to get used to it! Rio worked really hard on his house so leave him alone.

This time it was Rio's turn to make a face at Silvio which caused his brother to glare at him.

Emma: It's ok we can decorate mine together, that's just as fun as doing your own.

Silvio: I guess.

Silvio stood up from his seat and walked over to Emma. They started decorating her gingerbread house together but soon it had devolved into the brothers fighting for Emma's attention then just plain old fighting.

And so Emma now found herself in the kitchen standing between the two covered in icing, sprinkles and candy while the Queen stood there in front of them with a dignified smile.

Queen Lidia: So this is what you three have been up to all afternoon. They're so cute, I take it this is a Rhodolitian activity?

Emma: Yes, I made them every Christmas as a child. I showed Rio his first Christmas in Rhodolite and thought it would be fun to make some again this year with Silvio.

Queen Lidia's smile never faltered as she inspected the two gingerbread houses on the counter. It was clear they had fallen victim to the squabbling brothers much like Emma herself.

Rio: I wish you could of seen mine before Silvio got his hands on it.

Silvio: Hey! You're the one that messed ours up first.

Emma let out a defeated sigh and Queen Lidia covered her mouth to hold back her laughter.

Queen Lidia: Silvio I believe Carlos brought some paperwork to your room if you could take a look at it please and Valerio would you mind going over the current progress of this year's party for me please?

Silvio and Rio took the hint that the Queen wanted to be alone with Emma.

Silvio: Ya sure.

Rio: Of course, anything you need.

As soon as Silvio and Rio left the kitchen Emma collapsed on a stool letting out a long sigh and Queen Lidia burst out laughing.

Queen Lidia: Oh Emma my dear you look utterly spent.

Emma: I'm still not entirely sure how it all got so out of hand! I'm convinced they're just overgrown children at this point

.Queen Lidia: Of course they are, Alfios the same you know. I'm willing to bet that you had an enormous amount of fun though.

Emma looked up at the Queen and absolutely beamed.

Emma: It was a lot of fun actually, I just wish I wasn't covered in all this mess.

Queen Lidia walked over to stand at Emma's side and gave her a coy smile.

Queen Lidia: Well now this is where the rest of the fun happens. I'm quite sure Silvio will be easy enough to convince to help you wash up instead of doing that paperwork.

Queen Lidia gave a blushing Emma a teasing smile as she helped her up from the stool and shooed her out the door.

Lucy di San Germano aka Lucy Sangermano (1898-?) was an Italian silent film actress who peaked in the late 1910s and early 1920s. Lucy di San Germano aka Sangermano, born in Turin in 1898, was originally named Lucia Moglia. She was the younger sister of actress Linda Moglia (1896-?). Very little is known about her private life. Lucia got her actor’s name right from the start in the film business when she had a supporting act in the film Passa la gioventù (1917), directed by Achille Consalvi and starring an older actress from the vaudeville, Maria Campi, who was a producer of the film too. The film was received negatively, in contrast to Sangermano’s next film, La maschera del barbaro (Paolo Trinchera, Ambrosio 1918), a war propaganda film about a sister who substitutes for a deserter, until he decides to return and sacrifice himself. Though the story was thin, they praised the performances of Francesco Casaleggio and Sangermano as brother and sister. From 1918 on, Sangermano worked for years at Ambrosio, and often co-acted with regular supporting actors of those years, such as Dante Cappelli, Umberto Scalpellini, Vasco Creti, Ernesto and Ercole Vaser, Lidia Benelli a.o. Under the pseudonym of Kismet, Trinchera directed Sangermano again in an adaptation of Marcel Prévost: Chonchette (Ambrosio 1918), about an officer of the Spahis Roberto Villani) who suspects his daughter (Luisa Benelli) to be the fruit of an adulterous affair between his wife (Sangermano) and his friend. In December 1918, just when the First World War had ended, three films with Sangermano were released. Noblesse oblige (1918), based on a boulevard comedy by Hennequin and Veber, was apparently directed by the famous poster designer and illustrator Marcello Dudovich, whose only film direction this was. In addition to Sangermano, her sister Linda Moglia also acted in the film. Sangermano also acted in Lagrime del popolo, in which the forzuto Alfredo Boccolini aka Galaor is involved in a drama of two families, one rich and immoral, and one working-class and honest. Sangermano is the working-class girl seduced by the rich young industrial’s son. A third film released at the same time was …E dopo? (1918) by Febo Mari and with himself in the lead as a proud prime minister, a thinker, fighter, ascetic and legislator together, whose daughter (Sangermano) instead falls for a sleek, elegant young man, her cousin (Luigi Cimara). She reveals to him all kinds of top secrets with which the young man can speculate. While the high-placed father fights corruption, misery and weakness, the little people finally manage to push him off his pedestal. Febo Mari’s film was praised in the press as a superb creation in which Mari had turned the actors into real characters instead of mannequins, while also praising the actor’s performance of all involved, including Sangermano. Next Sangermano had a lead in the film La gibigianna (1919), directed by the Ambrosio veteran Luigi Maggi and based on a popular play by Carlo Bertolazzi. She plays Bianca, a porcelain factory worker who marries Enrico, the foreman (Sandro Ruffini), who has gone down the social ladder and hates wealth. Instead, Bianca aspires to high life and eventually drops him for a rich man. When he begs her to come back and she refuses, he strikes her with a knife and escapes, afraid he killed her. When overcome with grief, he is about to go to jail (another source says he is about to commit suicide), and she saves him. While La gibigianna was disliked in the Italian press, praise there was for the next film L’amante della luna (Consalvi 1919), based on a popular novel by Paul de Kock and starring Sangermano and Villani. Villani is the Moon Lover who sleeps in the daytime but sets things straight at night time. La Stampa wrote at the time: “One of the most passionate dramas, which keeps the audience tied to the screen until the last word.” Sangermano is the innocent girl who is about to succumb to a seductress avid for power and money. In particular, Sangermano’s acting was praised. In 1919 Sangermano moved over from Ambrosio to the Turinese Audax company for some lesser films: Il libro della vita (1919) by Giuseppe Guarino, Inutile attesa (1919) by Vittorio Tettoni, the adventure film La mano guantato di bianco (Tettoni 1920) with forzuto Celio Bucchi, Le vicende dell’illusione (Tetttoni 1920) with Giovanni Cimara, and La roccia della morte (Tettoni 1920) with Tettoni himself. More attention got the film La bambola e l’amore by diva film specialist Alfredo De Antoni, in which Sangermano acted opposite Luigi Serventi and Tullio Carminati. While audiences loved it, the press had reservations. The story deals with count Renato (Carminati) and writer Maurizio (Serventi) who love the same woman Cecyl (Sangermano). After a duel between the men she chooses and marries the count. In Venice, the writer finds Zanze, a lookalike of the woman (again Sangermano), and stages a charade to convince the count his wife is committing adultery and to win the woman back. It gets out of hand. The count chases his wife who dies out in the streets, while he also kills the lookalike, holding her for his wife. After La bambola della morte Sangermano acted at the same Rome-based company Do-Re-Mi in another two films by De Antoni, Il mercante di emozioni (1921), with Serventi, De Antoni himself, and the leading man of Italian silent acting, Alberto Capozzi, and Il poeta e la principessa (1921), with again Capozzi and De Antoni. Around 1920 Sangermano acted at various companies just once. She acted at Vay Film in La medaglia e il rovescio (1920), directed by the Russian emigré Aleksandr Uralsky, and at Medusa Film in La rupe tarpea (Gaston Ravel 1921), with Luigi Cimara and Carlo Gualandri. Sangermano’s penultimate two films were at the Roman Cines company: L’incatenata (Augusto Genina 1921), with Angelo Ferrari and Augusto Poggioli, and Il castello della malinconia (Genina 1922), with Ferrari, Poggioli, and Gemma De Sanctis. Sangermano’s last film was at the Turinese company Fert: L’inafferabile (Mario Almirante 1922), with Alberto Collo, Domenico Serra, Carlo and Olga Benetti, and Oreste Bilancia. Collo plays a man who is robbed of all his belongings just before marrying a rich heiress (Sangermano). Together they go after the thief, who is the least expected one: the loyal secretary. Apparently, in 1922 Sangermano stopped her film career, possibly because of the decadence of the Italian film industry, possibly also because of the contemporary competition of her sister as Roxanne in the period piece Cirano de Bergerac by Augusto Genina, which again co-starred Ferrari as Christian, De Sanctis as the governess and Pierre Magnier as Cyrano. Cirano was released one year after in France, where it was a huge success in Paris, and was released in Italy only in late 1925, in Rome even in early 1926. Yet Moglia, after one more film in 1924, also called her screen acting a day, just like her sister. It is unclear what happened with the sisters afterwards. Lidia’s full name is Lidia Rosa Madrigal.

Her first name means “from Lydia” and her middle name means “pink”. 

She is the third child of Mirabel Madrigal and Bubo Marquez.

She has her parent’s brown skin and eyes, and black hair. She has her mother’s nose, and her father’s stature. Somehow, she did not inherit either of her parents' need for glasses.

She is seventeen years old.

She has a triplet brother Óscar, older by thirty minutes, and an older triplet sister Beatriz, older by fifteen minutes.

She likes boys and girls, but is single.

Her gift is that she can make her paintings and drawings come to life, but they still abide by drawing rules. If she uses paint thinner/ an eraser, or it rains, they go away. She loves her gift, obviously, and uses it to make a bunch of cool stuff.

Her door portrays her with one hand holding a paintbrush, making a long line of paint. Her other hand is at her side.

Her room is a tower-like structure, with basic white walls for painting on, and a tall spiral staircase. At the top of the staircases are her bed and other amenities. At the bottom are many boxes full of paints and extra paint brushes. 

Her symbol is a paint brush.

She and Mirabel love to do art together, and Mirabel appreciates how protective Lidia is of the family.

She is the apple of Bubo’s eye. He is very proud of her for everything she does.

She loves Óscar despite his gift, and they get along. Lidia will beat anyone up (probably with a dinosaur) whoever makes fun of him, or isolates him.

She thinks Beatriz is snooty, bossy, and annoying. She did however, paint the yellow rose in her hair for her.

She mainly hangs out with Leta and Carlos, and occasionally Amelia and Princesa. She also draws with Mariana.

She gets along best with Bruno, Luisa, and Leta.

She’s very rough and tumble, and likes to wrestle with Leta and Lusia.

Her favorite thing to paint is butterflies and flowers. And fake money, but she was banned from doing that.

She despises anything but clear, sunny weather, as all of her creations melt in the rain. She and Pepa have a running (one-sided) feud.

She sometimes wishes she had a more active or useful gift.

When she’s upset, she has a tendency to scribble, and those scribbles turn into monsters that ravage the Encanto. They don’t cause much damage, but they sure scare people.

Her favorite colors are hot pink, vibrant purple, red, and orange.
