Honestly Ben 10 is probably one of the most based science fiction series out there by sheer virtue of it having the balls to showcase any alien concept it wanted to no matter how ridiculous, and whenever someone is like “there’s no way in Hell that could ever be scientifically feasible”, it dared to look them in the eyes and go “Yeah, well, this is a world where magic and superpowered mutants also exist. What are you gonna do? Cry about it? You grown ass adult who’s expecting scientific feasibility out of a cartoon meant to sell toys to preteen boys that has lore so inconsistent it’s almost impossible to tell what’s canon and what’s non-canon? LMAO loser.”

I mean OS had it all- obviously aliens but not only that, at minimum 10 of them; mutants in daily life across at least America, no doubt in other places too; magic, albeit one without a system beyond ‘there’s a spellbook and some charms’. The shift to purely alien in AF makes the wonderful nonsense sci-fi stuff into frustrating logic trees of ‘how does xenobiology get this powerful’ which I had definitely fallen into. Ben 10 is unabashedly science fantasy, so why not go the full fantasy and bring back mutants and magic, haha!

Admittedly a good implementation of magic in a series tends to follow a magic system, which I’m not especially great at coming up with, especially in comparison to speculative biology which come with pre-established rules. But hey, I don’t exactly expect it to be fleshed out, at least not as well as the alien aspect of Ben 10; even then, there’s only so much fleshed out, it’s to tease us into making lore for it lmao-

To be fair though, Ben 10 itself had to whack itself on the cheek in order to be reminded of its magic and especially mutant parts, which unfortunately in the latter case was central to major retcons so…

Returning to my roots, i saw some rumors of a ben 10 graphic novel and ive been in my feels!!!!

I've always loved the concept of Albedo and his relationship with Ben, but i wanted more growth and depth from the both of them. He's a DNA clone, and i love clone stuff!!! I had a dream about a slight AU where Albedo is absorbed into the Omnitrix and hangs around in Ben's mind/subconscious, and it's like an annoying roommate turned iron clad kinship/brotherhood typa deal. I just craved more growth, depth, and angst from them. I haven't seen Omniverse, but i know he's done pretty dirty 😑

Anyway, i haven't drawn these two in a literal decade, so enjoy these scribbles goodnight!!!!

In my headcanon, Zs’Skayr looked quite like Ghostfreak when he was a child, and the reason why Zs’Skayr ruptured the white skinn when he first escaped the Omnitrix was because he quickly went from a child like age (aka Ben’s) to his real adult one.

I also drew the werewolf!! That I arbitrarily named Ba-Bau. He is Zs’Skayr precious hound.

Albedo is now part of the Study of Alien Philosophy AU :D

Albedo arrived at Gwen's door in search for the Omninomicon (Omnitrix) during the time Ben was stuck as a Celestialsapien for like... two weeks. This surprised Gwen until they see Ben just standing there still stuck in her living room and Albedo's fucking pissed. Like of all things, Ben's stuck as a fucking Celestialsapien???

Gwen was saddened and disappointed but she let Albedo stay with her for awhile so Gwen had Albedo take over his studies in the meantime until Ben transforms back, which ended up taking a year.

He does have his own omnitrix called the Ultranomicon but some pages are encrypted in a language too complex for Albedo because those are the aliens Ben has yet to understand and the pages for galvans were torn off so he can't use them.

Like normal Albedo and his chili fries, this Albedo has weird cravings for chicken nuggets with Kevin commenting that he orders way more than Ben but Albedo would still continue to blame it on Ben Tennyson's DNA.

While Ben and Gwen in this AU are more into documentaries and commentaries, Albedo has grown a liking to movies and tv shows but he'd rather die than admit it. The only person who knows is Kevin who saw him when he was working at the movie theater.

If he watches shows like Phineas and Ferb or Dexter's Lab, he'd critic their tech but would try to recreate one of their creations if it piques his interests enough. His fav character would be Dr. Doofenzmirtz (idk I just felt like adding that for some reason AITITSKGXKGX)

He would like shows with characters who had been wronged or has dysfunctional families cuz that's just fun to watch. Despite disliking a majority of shows, he liked watching the drama. His fav comfort show's Kitchen Nightmares

now uh, His color pallete went from yellow and white to purple and black after Ben finally transformed back from a celestialsapien cuz uh-oh, two nomicons.

Ben was surprised to see another him but Albedo explained that no he's not, he's just stuck in his form, grudgingly doing all his assignments and hating on everything until he could get his hands on the Omninomicon to return back into his galvan form in which Ben lets him.

The gang are cool with Albedo but man, he hates it here (doubtful)

Like it says, Ben 10 potential ghost designs but based specifically on Danny Phantom type ghosts for funsies! Like to imagine he and Danny met when he's transformed as a ghost, Danny sees him de-transform, and possibly think he's a halfa. !!! Closer looks at each + me rambling about each design under the cut.

DESIGN 1) Based off AF and OV, leaning more towards OV's overall design (hair, and smile specifically), but incorporating AF's jacket! Plus, sprinkling in a bit of inspo from Danny's ghost form by keeping the belt bit attached to the Omnitrix's symbol on the shirt!

DESIGN 2) the OG's series Ben with a ghost transformation! Inverse the colors of his usual getup, since that's what also happens to Danny!

DESIGN 3) Playing with ghostly skin colors! DP's range of ghost skin is usually on the cooler side, specifically with blue/green/white, (the only exception being Danny himself, whose firstly a halfa, and secondly via possible headcanon, also wants to look human), but, at the very least had to try to see how'd it look with Ben!

DESIGN 4) I'd like to headcanon the Omnitrix wouldn't depart from Ben even through death itself, and upon transforming (or even dying), it would slowly expand outwards! The most dead-looking of all the designs considering the gray skin tone, this one is specifically leans a bit more into Ghostfreak's design via the black lines. Probably my least fav of the bunch, he looks a bit too grim.

DESIGN 5) Legit my favorite of all six, and by god did the shoes drive me crazy. Either way, OV style Ben leaning even harder into the Ghostfreak design elements with the chains and lines. Kept Design 2's highlighter bright green, and took inspo from the most recent Ben 10 show's shirt design!

DESIGN 6) This is more so a Ben who has actually died (or is dying and need of help he can't access), the Omnitrix has transformed him into a DP style ghost for survival, keeping the watch "even in death"! The glowing lines of the Omnitrix stretch over from the watch and all over his body. I'd like to think, in spite of whatever age Ben would actually pass, or nearly died, or is dying, he'd look 10 no matter what. Kind of like a day he sealed his fate, sort of thing. Fun!

Ben and Gwen: lonely kid and gifted child

I’ve thought a lot about these two and their family dynamic. Both are relatable to me but in different ways. Like Gwen, I’ve always been the “mature” one who was good at school and loved by the adults in my life, but I also don’t have any friends and have a desire for fame and attention like Ben. At first glance, they seem to have little to complain about, being white kids with stable homes and two parents, compared to someone like Kevin, but there’s more to a character than just the surface and I think both have a lot of emotional issues relating to their self worth.

With Gwen, we get glimpses into her life and how everyone views her as perfect. Sunny envied how she was adored by her parents and Verdona and Gwen wished her mother would stop thinking of her as the “good influence”. All the adults in her family loved her and expected her to be the role model for the other kids which is a double edged sword. Yes you get praise and love but also pressure and high expectations. You’re expected to babysit the other kids and often have to bury your true feelings to please everyone and people will envy the love you get. And that love is often conditional and based around living up to their standards, remember how Natalie told her “normal people don’t glow” and how she doesn’t like her daughter or nephew using their powers around her.

As a kid, she was constantly doing extracurriculars like cotillion and judo before earning a scholarship to go to college early in Omniverse. We got a glimpse into her daily life in “It’s not Easy Being Gwen” where everyone expects her to fulfill certain obligations. Gwen seems like a child prodigy who feels she has to be the best and is always filling her schedule with activities and is always trying to get into the top schools. I think that’s why she fell for Kevin. He was the only one who loved her without putting her on a pedestal or because she’s family. The only person she could be herself around and doesn’t force her to act like a perfectionist. People complain about her outfit change in OV and I agree with some of the criticisms, but with all the pressure in her life, I get why she would want a change from the expectations in her life.

Ben strikes me as someone with a deep inferiority complex. It’s implied that he’s a bit of a loner who doesn’t have many friends with JT ditching him for Cash. He did get along better with Sunny which makes me wonder if he can relate to being in Gwen’s shadow. Fans talk about how great Carl and Sandra are as parents and while they are nice people, their free range approach can seem negligent. They only seemed concerned about Ben’s heroics once they witnessed it. By that time, Ben had been on late night road trips with Kevin, who punched holes in their doors, for weeks and didn’t even come home one night in “Save the Last Dance”. Ben may have acted the way he did in the OS as a cry for help as he feels neglected and the favoritism everyone has towards Gwen may rub off on him. It reminds me a bit of how Steven from SU acted the way he did in the early episodes because he was constantly being left alone without the gems or Greg while being compared to Rose. Kids who don’t have friends nor get much attention while living in a family member’s shadow can and do develop inferiority complexes.

Ben’s desire for fame seems to stem from wanting to be loved and wanting to feel special. He becomes so full of himself because people finally love him as opposed to viewing him as some average kid. Fans have dismissed the bullying he faced as cliche or unnecessary but it adds to his character. A lonely, bullied kid who’s in the shadow of his overachieving cousin will want something that makes him feel special, like the Omnitrix. Ben has to learn throughout the 4 shows that he is the hero, not the watch. I think that’s why he loved using transformations like Four-arms, Humungousaur and Feedback so much even if they were inadequate for the situation as they made him feel confident. The way he fights is reminiscent of standing up to a bully too, picking an intimidating form, offering a chance to back off and then doing what he can to stop the threat. It’s easy to write him off as just a spoiled brat or narcissistic but I think 1, that’s ableist and 2, is a rather shallow way of looking at his character. While he can be insufferable at times, is it wrong to want acknowledgement or praise when there’s people like Will Harangue or the Rooters who hate you just for existing? I think he deserves a break from fans who hate him and he acts a lot better than most kids would in his situation. Compare him to Shinji Ikari from Evangelion, who I also love as a character, who would break down after seeing what Ben has to deal with every day.

I think both may envy each other at times. Gwen has been shown to be jealous of Ben getting all the glory as well as how Ben was given a car by her boyfriend despite her parents being wealthier. Like Sunny, Ben may have viewed Gwen as a stuck-up overachiever who got all the respect from their parents. That was until they bonded and became friends in the OS but it occasionally came back like when Ben lashed out at her for telling him he couldn’t use Feedback, believing she was trying to take the only thing he had. Because they have it easier than Kevin, it’s easy to expect them to just get over it but I think both Tennyson cousins need a lot of therapy and need to talk about their issues with each other. Both characters mean a lot to me and remind me of my own struggles.

Okay so to add to the superfam x neglected! reader! What if the reader is an absolute nerd with engineering (mechanical, computer, electronics, software, and robotics) and as they slowly grew comfortable with Lex Luthor, they just found themselves yapping away about the functions of the Omnitrix, interesting projects they're working on, and what they want to do yk. Like this girl went from quiet, demure, shy who is not used to attention to someone who could talk Lex's ears off for HOURS, and he isn't even mad??? All her ideas are pretty interesting and it's also nice to see her just be in her element. The superfam being regretful because they didn't know Reader could talk this much or be so bright about something. Lois feeling immense guilt because she got so used to the easy way of not having to worry about injuries because Jon, Kon, and Clark don't that she forgot her daughter didn't inherit any of the indestructableness

Also!!! As Reader slowly got used to actually have an adult pay attention to her and encourage her with her interests, plus the praise she receives with her hero persona, she just became more confident. Idk it's like 1 am and the drabble was too good

I want to start with the Ben10 reader x Invincible- I don't really feel the vibe for it- like Debbie has bitten into Nolan for not being happy for powerless kiddie Mark, and she'd do it again, and Nolan honestly just gave "angry because I'm getting attacked" vibes. But it'd be funny to see how shocked Battle Beast would be to see a youngling of his race try and battle him :)))

Like, once this man gets attached, he goes crazy. He has an important business meeting at the same time you have a school event? At best, he's video chatting from your school, screaming mid-sentence that you did great, or at worst, not even present in the meeting.

Because let's be honest- rich man who knows how to act and can provide proof of neglect vs an above middle class family who didn't even know where the kid was? The rich man wins.

And sure, you may hate it at first, think it's a ploy to get back at Superman, because why would an adult actually care for you? But instead of lowering the anti-supers measures he has in place, he triples them. He asks about school shit, nags you about homework, if you ate, "You shouldn't sit for so long in front of a screen."

It drove you crazy. And you started acting out- missing homework, having sleepless nights, arguing with him over the smallest shit, until he called you for a serious talk. You were ready for him to tell you to pack your shit and go- but he just asked if everything was fine at school. "Because this isn't you."

Your lip may have trembled, but you refuse to acknowledge that you cried, that tears were even a concept. After hugging, definitely not crying in his arms, you got better- even if he suspended you from hero activity for a year "because you should have just come to talk to him" but whatever-

And boy does all of this fuck with the family. Not every place is anti-super proof, so they hear you talking his ear off at the restaurant he takes you to for the weekly family outing, or to celebrate whatever you made that day. And it builds the anger and guilt.

Lois started stalking Lex, not what she'd call it, but she was. Because she knew you wouldn't be far away. And it was amazing to see you talk about whatever machine-thingy-robot- whatever it was. It hurt to realize what she's been missing, and it hurt even more to see you smile so brightly and proudly at the man who, for years, has tried to ruin the family.

And when Jon sees you out and about and tries to follow after you, wanting his sis back, he loses track of you. Lex just finds a note stating that the cloaking tech works, but after 30 seconds, it fried. He doesn't ask, he already knows. But if you told him, he would obediently listen.

Kon is straight up thinking Lex brainwashed you. He refuses to believe you're doing that out of your own free will and is actively plotting with Tim and Young JL.

It was eerie how much you resembled Kon in his early days as "the real, new Superman" but the difference was in the way you actually were strategic in your flirting. Just enough to charm, but not enough to insinuate a possibility of more. Not that Lex would allow anyone to sniff around you, he has a strict list of requirements for the ideal one, and he's sure no one will hit all of them.

Honestly- he may as well start creating an android, the perfect one, to be the right lover. You shut that idea down quick. "Feels wrong to create an android and take away its free will. There are so many movies and games about why that's a bad idea."

All he hears is to create an android with another main mission, and just let the thing fall in love with you on its own. He has mad confidence in your rizz, mainly because he thinks you are the prize, and anyone not seeing that is crazy or blind. (*caugh* the superfam *caugh*) You could also do no wrong in his eyes, could kill everyone, and he'd still be like "lil baby, innocent, sweet thing", but that's another discussion.

This man will need to take calming pills if you show interest in JL members, aliens like Rook Blonko and Ester, or the witch Charmcaster.

He grabbed your hand stopping your tracks which caused you to look at him.

"I'm sorry for hearing you went through." Ben said in sad tone, he has sincerity in his eyes.

"Oh uh, okay?" You awkwardly replied to his answer.

Okay, so the next day. You two slowly becoming friends? I mean congrats for you two? However you've earned respect from him despite the different paths.

In the end, whenever you're in Zombozo's gang. You often save him despite the amount of risk taking you've get after left assumed dead despite the many attempts of backstabbing you did to him, he'll give you a chance to redeem.

Once you completely have your redemption, the feelings' been mutual for you two. Until Ben was left injured causing you having a mild panic and immediately rushed him to the house.

"Crap, crap, crap, craaaap!" You frantically look for the first aid kit after placing him on the chair.

He never seen you panicking (although rightfully) before.

Few moments later

You've finished bandaging Ben's wound from the fight, but you didn't notice him deeply thinking in his head; part of him.. Misses having a normal life before the exposure of his fame and attention, you tlited your head and looked at him.

In your eyes, you assumed that Ben is imagining things bout what if his life have different options other than current event.

"I'll just-" "wait." You widen your eyes, he just told you to stay.

"There's one thing, I need to do." He said in serious tone.

"And that is....?" You approached to him, wondering what will he do.

To your surprise, Ben places both of his hands on your cheeks causing to be flustered over his touch. Despite his palms are rough, its giving out a warm feeling.

You tlited your head while his hands are cupped on your cheeks, although your heartbeat starting to beat only Ben closes his eyes and planted a kiss on your lips causing your eyes widen and becoming a tomato.

You can feel his lips, it's slightly chapped meanwhile your eyes are still widen while he kisses you pouring his heart out. Your heart starts to beat even louder no wonder why girls have taste in him *cough* Kai likes Benwolf *coughs

He stopped kissing you, now looking at you with half lidded eyes. You're speechless like you cant even MOVE while processing your thoughts

He mouthed a three words from his mouth.

"I love you."

Ofc, you comedically fainted after hearing these 3 simple words making Ben widened his eyes out and looked at you (you're doing the Family Guy dead pose). He ended up chuckling at your comedy timing

Turns out, you're shy and accidentally funny to him.

Bad Ben

-In Bad Ben's world, you're the hero while he's a bad guy (not sure bout Plumbers but I would've assume they're bad guys as well since we didn't know much about Bad Ben's universe)

-Does it imply that his world have villains are heroes while heroes are villains

-I imagine you two have cat and mouse chase, you're his mouse while he's a cat.

-You guys went each others' throats, I can imagine.

-When he used big words on you, you cannot help but to think "Why using big words?? To make yourself superior?" Or when he speaks slower compared to prime Ben

-To empathize your point, you can hear from his mouth:

You're running away after retreating from Gwen's anodite blast, you tried your best to stay undetectable from her as soon as possible. You didn't know that Bad Ben is literally hiding in the shadows while you're running to retreat.

"Phew.." You take a peek, confirming that Gwen didn't find.

"She didn't find me, did she?" You muttered, sighed

"How about now? Little mouse?"

"Wanna fight?! Come and get some!" You immediately take fighting stance, until he showed up revealing himself.

"You..!"

"Of course, my little mouse. Excited to see me or perhaps... Alarmed?" He sarcastically claps his hands, his grin is not friendly and its filled with smug and arrogance.

-You sometimes expressed to yourself is that he should speak normally compared to other people.

-Or that one, you get jumpscared by Ghostfreak causing you to get wary of any place you're exploring.

"He's nowhere, he can be anywhere.." You talked to yourself about Bad Ben could've be anywhere, everywhere or nowhere.

"I'm pretty sure, he won't spy" Frightwig reassures you.

Unknown to Frightwig, you're right. Causing Ben cackling because you're able to detect him "easily"

-Ben really enjoys toying with you and your gang

-There are few instances that he saved you however you believed its has to be one of his Ponzi schemes

"Oh please, its not like you would've save me out of your schemes" You rolled your eyes after being saved by Bad Ben.

-He calls you his "mouse" all the time causing you get irritated and tell him to *Insert Froggy scene where he coughs bc of smoke and then Dratula teased him* Damare! (Shut up!)

"Aww, whats wrong? Having fun are we?" Ben continues to follow you while you have your trusty backpack that functions like Doctor Ock to distance yourself from him.

"This is NOT fun! You're literally harming innocents!" You glared at him, pointing out his crimes.

"Pssh, who cares?" He shrugged, rolling his eyes approaching to you.

"Besides, its just two of us. Don't need to be so cranky." He scoffed at your speech, seeing it as stupid talk.

Just before you attack him only a debris' bout to fall on you causing him to slam his Omnitrix and breaks the debris into pieces but also you take the advantage of his distraction and scot away from his sight.

"Now, where are--" He widened his eyes, you disappeared in front of his sight.

"Drat!"

The more cat and mouse chase that he put you in, the more "insolent" (positive) feelings built up in himself such as when he taunts you through flirting.

You, of course. Assumed that he's toying your feelings and keeping an eye on him but at same time, your feelings starting to act up on him.

While you two are fighting inside the building until the debris falls off causing you two getting trapped.

"Great, we're TRAPPED inside because of you" You blame him for cause of the debris.

"How's my fault when I didn't know that the debris collapsed?" Ben pointed it out, his Omnitrix is in timeout.

"Duh, you villains usually trapped-" "Enough!"

You widen your eyes, you never seen him getting irritated by your accusations against him.

"All I did was woo you but you didn't take a subtle hint how much I see you in enlightment way" Ben confessed it to you.

"Huhh??"

"You didn't know about it, have you?" He composed himself and looked at you with his signature smirk on his face.

"I gave you a hint but you dodged it like if I'm a plague to you."

"I really admire your determination to get me imprisoned in the Null Void but I don't really want to go there." While he confessed directly, although his eyelid twitches mean that he at least entered Null Void.

"But you, you're the reason why I have such insolent feelings. A feeling where I grew out. For you." Ben now looks at you with deadass serious face.

So, he does mean it well.

"Wow, never thought you're a--" Before you finished your sentence with a blush on your face only he presses his lips on yours to steal your kiss

"Heh, "poet"? I'd like that." He grinned at you.

Mad Ben (Sorry if its short)

-You're one of the Resistance group

-Mad Ben, on other hand dislikes you to the point that he goes after you

-"What's next? Dictator! Keep hunting me forever?!"

-"Best of luck! y- Ugh!" You immediately knock him with a pipe and making a well executed plan to prevent him hunting you furthermore even Rook stopped the hunt.

-The more plans you've made it, the more he's able to tell it easily

-His anger gets best of him so easily so no wonder why you plan the escape plan easily even Rook tries to find the way to get you but it didnt work..

-But at same time, was the anger act like.. Frustrated with a fuzzy schoolcrush?
