The first thing he saw was the target of the attack, and any good feelings he had from dinner were erased and anger took its place when he saw a bruised Uncle Chuck crouching protectively over his apprentice, Muttski.

Then… he saw who was attacking them…

In all the ways Sonic thought he'd see his father's face again, this was the one out of his very worst nightmares.

"Dad!" Sonic said breathlessly.

The splitting image of Jules loomed above Uncle Chuck on the attack until Sonic arrived on the scene. He turned to face the blue hedgehog, and if his actions weren't proof enough, this was not Sonic's father in control, the long-hated utterance of, "Priority One: Hedgehog!" being spoken in his father's voice made it clear.

I drew a scene from my fic, Sunken Treasure, from the Lost in the Waves series. I'm trying to go back and add art to all of them. Link to the fic is below.

This sounds odd. But was thinking about if litw was gendered swapped, and Glenn got pregnant and died giving birth. I wonder what Max would do with the baby? What if it was a girl? I have feeling Max would try to recreate Glenn. So many disturbing outcomes

Max 120% does not want another child... but also..... he's so in love (read: obsessed) with Glenn, in an au with glenn being genderswapped he'd be lowkey down with having a kid with him cause also little bby glenn 2.0 except its a product of their "love"

glenn dying giving birth would bE SO INCREDIBLY TRAGIC and in that case i honestly am unsure how that would go down because max is extremely adverse to the idea (despite his urges) of harming his child in that way, it's not something he could morally justify to himself no matter how he'd try to spin it

man might just end up offing himself to keep from harming his child, or even as a result of caving to those urges

Hi there 👋

At the moment, I’m working on some original pieces. Lost Things will be published in September 12, 2023, and the ebook is available for pre-order now (paperback coming soon!).

My second book, tentatively titled A Little Brighter, is about 40% written. It follows 3 women and the people they fall in love with. Their stories are interconnected and a bit messy.

It takes longer for me to produce original work, given the perfectionism required when publishing independently for (attempted) profit.

I love my original characters so much, and I hope whoever reads them falls for them too. We’ve got a 2nd chance divorcing couple, another couple working through the fallout of trauma (it’s more fun than it sounds 😬), and an adorable sapphic woman who falls in love with her coworker.

There is lots of humor and passion, and a unique take on a romance novel. It’s literally 3 love stories in 1 book, so it’s kinda like writing 3 books.

As far as fic goes, I have thoughts constantly. My petals babies need their wedding. My LITW darlings are desperate to consummate their affair. My journey aulds need to find their son. I have a Voyager Time is Never Planned one-shot I’m eager to knock out. I’d really like to finish that dangling chapter of The French Connection. I have a nasty PWP modern AU one-shot to write, and another short story outlined that was prompted by a few readers’ requests.

I can’t make promises when things will get done, but since you asked for an update, this is where I’m at.

1. i have this one show up in a primacy au fic briefly, in Long Is The Way; at one point he was a professor, rather than a practicing therapist. his moving into practicing predates the fall out with froid, of course, but one of the reasons he never returned to it is that the entire blackmail setup froid has (re: the plagiarism, not publishing, etc) basically precludes it. so that’s one extra way froid bollocksed up his life right there. (in LitW specifically, i mention ratchet took a class under him once, and that was how they first met.)

2. rung joined up to the autobots quite late, and at various points in the war gave very serious consideration to becoming neutral, though he never came close to actually doing it. they had him doing a lot of stuff that increasingly weighed on his mind (e.g. all the Wreckers stuff) and felt too much like no improvement at best over the bad old days. to a certain extent, he didn’t leave because it felt somewhat like cowardice to just duck out entirely even so. a small part of him also felt like leaving and it then not making a difference at all, to anyone or anything, would be an unbearable outcome, so he stayed in part so he never had to find out if that would have been true.

3. can’t remember for the LIFE of me whether i stole this one off @sauntervaguelydown or @chokopoppo, oops, it was one of them, but: rung is less a teetotaler per se and more sober. he’s been around for a very long time, a lot of that time has been very difficult and at times extremely lonely, he doesn’t have anyone around to orient himself against or who can tell him to slow down. he learned the hard way a while ago it’s best he not risk the temptation full stop, and in part leaned on the need to be able to carry out his job as a bulwark. it’s probably for the best nightbeat turned out to be very persistent about seeking him out after rung was disbarred again.

4. was actually speaking with des (and nev) about this one recently too, rung signed off on more “personality adjustments” than he likes to think about even considering the original aim of them being a misguided attempt to provide actual medical care. (at least, rung thinks of it that way; the reality was probably always much murkier than that.) the last one he signed off on before refusing on principle no matter the circumstance was one that absolutely, unambiguously crossed the line no matter how you looked at it, and that’s what rung heard when the psychic attack that the LL experienced hit them, the thing he refused to explain to anyone.

(ask me about the “rung’s actual secret was that he was an ex-mnemosurgeon” au i put in my notebook of ideas recently sometime, it’s AWFUL folks)

5. rung does, very slightly, miss when he and froid were like. the somewhat cathartically enjoyable shade of “god i hate your guts”, rather than what they wound up being, which was just unpleasant and awful. froid isn’t telling the truth when he claims he and rung used to be friends, but it’s not completely without a grain of truth in there.

I really really want to get the last chapter of Lost in the Wilderness up tomorrow in time for the spnwomenweek prompt au/family (because LitW is both) but my brain is Not cooperating

Clean up after the fight was subdued, with no one really knowing what to say.

The Jules-shaped robot was taken to Tails' lab to be chained up and examined from every possible angle short of reactivating him. Tails, Rotor, and Nichole were thorough in their examinations, fixing the damage and deactivating the weapons. At the moment they were busy purging any form of connection to the EggNet and attack protocols from the bot's systems, removing any form of control Dr. Eggman had with it.

But… they still hadn't turned it on.

It was unanimously and silently decided that turning the robotic hedgehog back on would be Sonic's call, and Sonic still wasn't sure how to feel about that.

The injury to his leg had turned out to be mostly superficial. A cut that, while deep, hadn't needed stitches and would heal in a few days so long as he kept it bandaged and didn't push himself.

For once the doctor didn't need to worry about that. Sonic had been practically haunting Tails' lab since the fight, just staring at the machine.

The robot that might not just look like his dad, but actually be his dad.

Hab gestern nach einer kleinen Pause mal wieder LITW gespielt und neben dem Regalsystem und einer ziemlichen crappy Kebabmaschine meine erste voll automatische Holzkohlemaschine gebaut. Ich bin noch nicht ganz sicher, ob ich damit nicht den Satan raufbeschwöre, weil die mit Magic Wood läuft, aber das Zeug wächst nunmal so schnell wie Unkraut. Eigentlich wollte ich dafür ja Fichtenholz nehmen, weil ich auch das Harz brauche, aber das braucht ja ewig zu wachsen und meine Mobfarm läuft trotz 7 Etagen zu ineffizent, als dass ich mit Bonemeal um mich schmeißen könnte. Ich bin mega stolz auf mein kleines Maschinchen. Demnächst baue ich meine Kebabmaschine noch ein bisschen besser aus und dann kommt noch ein Fischer und ein Jäger :D ... Hasi, wovon redest du?!? Dinge, die ich in meiner Freizeit tue. Freizeit!!! FRAIZAIT :D
