Mine was Duck from WordWorld when I was 6 or 7.... no joke.... 😅

I often felt flustered or embarassed whenever Duck was on-screen. It didn't feel like a typical romantic crush, and not exactly like platonic feelings, so I had no framing to define it by. It wasn't until I was much older and learned the terms "queerplatonic" and "squish" that I realized I had a squish on him.

As an adult, obviously I'm not really squishing on Duck anymore, but I have lots of nostalgia, and some of that bond to him still lingers from early childhood. Rewatching the show feels like visiting an old friend. He's my favorite WordWorld character to this day.

We are not calling this Knave 4 because I am not committing to it right now (also I think I've run out of lines in that poem?), because I really need to write just about anything else for a while to give my brain a break. But . . . (knave 4 is going to be a caper if it kills me, because these boys deserve a break)

TK is trying very hard not to laugh at him, he can tell.  It is not improving his mood.

TK pulls himself under control and takes a step closer, putting a hand out to flatten on Carlos's stomach.  "Okay, baby, you have to relax.  You cannot go into a con with a list of steps and marks you have to hit.  This is swing, not ballet."

He gives TK a flat look.  "You can't dance."

TK barely manages to swallow his laugh.  "Fair.  But also not my point."  He curls his hand into the belt loops on Carlos's jeans.  Carlos tries to forget that Matt and his new minion, George, are sitting behind him.  "You can't go into a con with a game plan or you'll lose the plot the first time something unexpected happens."

He grits his teeth and takes a breath to center himself.  "Okay, so how do I get to my end goal if I'm not allowed to have a plan?"

TK shrugs, loose roll of his shoulders.  "You figure out what your yes looks like, and then you figure out how to get there."

"What," he says blankly, "does that even mean?"

TK takes a step back and looks around the room.  "Okay, okay."  He glances at Matt.  "Okay, so say I want Matt to show me his case notes on that bond forgery case he's been working on.  That's my yes - Matt letting me peek me at his notes.  So the question is how do I get there?"

"Ask him?"  Carlos suggests dryly.

TK holds up a finger.  "Ah ha!  You'd think.  But, no, because Matt's not willing to get me involved in anything that hasn't been cold for at least a decade."  Matt and Carlos trade a look, and TK rolls his eyes.  "Yeah, the two of you are not as subtle as you think."  TK props himself on the edge of the table, swinging a leg, and looking around the room expectantly.  "So, how do I get there?"

"Break into the FBI at night," George suggests.

TK pauses to eye George.  "That's definitely an option, but it sounds like a lot of work.  Let's call that like Plan F."

Carlos looks at TK thoughtfully.  "You wouldn't have to break into the FBI though.  Matt takes his work home with him a lot of nights, you could just call Liz and suggest dinner, take a snoop around when you go upstairs to go to the bathroom or something."

TK points at Carlos.  "Gold star for you."

He rolls his eyes. "Okay, but that only works because you know Matt, and his wife."

TK shrugs.  "That's the planning part of the con.  You learn everything you can about your mark, and the people he talks to before you ever walk in the door.  What happens after you walk in the door is a crap shoot, and you just have to roll with it.  But everything that happens before you walk in the door is under your control.  If Matt was my mark, I'd have watched him for long enough to know that he takes work home with him because he loves his wife and wants to spend time with her even if they're both working.  I'd know that they eat dinner at 7pm every night, and that Liz likes red wine more than she likes white, but she'll drink whichever one goes with dinner, and that on days that she has area faculty meetings she goes out and gets a vanilla latte from that coffee place on Guadalupe to fortify herself beforehand.  I'd know that Matt likes to stop and pick up chocolate eclairs from Quacks on 43rd on Friday nights, because Friday nights are sacred."

Matt squints at him.  "I'm feeling a little stalked right now."  He frowns.  "Wait, I know how you know the stuff about me, but how do you know what Liz does before area faculty meetings?"

TK raises an eyebrow.  "I go to school on the same campus that she works at, and I'm taking classes with a bunch of kids who are frequently painfully young, so sometimes she takes pity on me and lets me eat lunch at the cool kids table."

The downside to not getting around to this until late is that I'm not sure who is even left to tag. @iboatedhere? @kiwichaeng? @ravens-words?

hello hello i shall add on !!! my relationship with the genie is familial, not romantic, but this definitely sounds like fun !! 💙

it's hard for me to decide whether the genie would be soft or muscular. i think it'd be a mix of the two- he's definitely strong, but he's got a lot of padding as well.

the genie can sizeshift right? and he might not always be completely solid, either. so this leads to a lot of interesting cuddling possibilities !

the genie usually prefers to be around his friends's general size, but still larger than them. so he'll definitely give big hugs, snuggly firm ones that encircle almost my entire body and may even lift me off the ground!

when he needs to protect those he cares about, or needs more space to stretch out, the genie can be nearly as massive as the area he's in. he could hold me in one arm, or even the palm of his hand.

of course he wouldn't mind being that size so i could sleep on him like a mattress, entirely surrounded by my best friend as i drift off to sleep nope not at all >u<

literally came up with this while i was writing- i have to share this ! - the genie is an empath. he radiates the emotions he's currently feeling (can hold this back with difficulty), as well as reading the emotions of others. this ability is especially potent through physical contact, which can allow for conversations beyond words and a deeper mutual understanding of each other, strengthening our bond.

yes the genie would sing !! he'd sing songs he learned while traveling the world, in many different languages, but of course we'd have a few favorites we could sing together ^u^

if i was feeling overstimulated he could embrace me with his blue-smoke stuff, which could serve as a lighter version of a hug and help me calm down.

When I am stressed.. which is never! Ever!!!! I don't show it.. I hate negative emotions around people but I think lizzy would notice when I act differently, she'd ask me about it in private probably and see if I do want comforting or if I'd rather just go hide in a dark room by myself for a week LOL<3

Oooooo tricky - I can see people turning Brutus into a two-faced manipulator - like Brutus was evil all along and hated HB the whole time.

☕️: What are the most common plots of shipping fics between you and your f/o?

Can see a lot of family stuff between the three of them - like Red n' Liz figuring out how to raise a weird rock kid. Or just fun fluffy stuff like Brutus crawling into bed with them after a nightmare or Brutus accidentally calling HB n' Liz their parents.

However, on the angst side of things, I can see people dragging out Brutus' possession arc. Or have them kill each other somehow (Brutus accidentally turning HB to gold/HB being forced to kill Brutus while they were possessed.)

Can I ask for headcannons for Fukuzawa Yukichi, Mori Ogai, Fyodor Dostoyevsky (separately) and their strong and independent fem!s/o, who cried for the first time in his memory? S/o started crying from some trifle (for example, a waiter in a cafe was rude to her). This incident was the last straw, before that she always suppressed tears and did not allow herself to cry, so that she would not be considered weak. Please.

a/n: ooooh ngl this is a bit of a challenging one for me but i have been meaning to write for both fukuzawa and mori, and ofc fyodor is one of my faves so lets go!!

he has always been impressed by your independence and ability to take care of yourself

he's a busy man and as much as he would like to have the time to take care of you more, sadly his work doesn't allow it

although he admires your ability to hold your own, he sometimes worries that you don't truly feel free about expressing your emotions but he's not quite sure about breaching the topic with you yet

fukuzawa used to be apprehensive about you working with him in the ADA but you were just amazing at talking and negotiating with clients that he found your services valuable in the end

a lot of the ADA members look up to you and ask you for help sometimes so you have that reputation

but because of that, you would often pressure yourself to keep up such appearances because you're scared of letting your partner and the other ADA members down

it just so happened that you were having an extremely stressful work day since most of the ADA members were on a mission and you had to take on a lot of clients

one in particular was giving you a hard time and challenging your expertise, asking repeatedly to talk to fukuzawa even though he was out

you were in desperate need of a breather afterwards so you locked yourself in the supply closet out of fear of anyone seeing you cry

the agency office was basically empty at the end of the day but fukuzawa actually came back to fetch something from his office and he couldn't mistake the sounds of you crying in the supply closet

you practically jumped when he opened the door and fukuzawa was just as surprised as you are

the two of you were staring at each other for a bit before he asks "wouldn't you rather stay in my office?"

he knows you don't quite want to talk about things yet so he'll clear the couch in the room for you, set a box of tissues on the coffee table, and busy himself with making tea

and then when you start talking and apologizing about crying in the supply closet he's honestly surprised

fukuzawa would definitely be sweet and reassuring with you and say that even though he's amazed by your independence he doesn't want you to force yourself to be that all the time

"i know that the ADA work is very stressful so feel free to use my office to take a breather anytime"

during work, he sometimes takes the time to check in on you and even makes you coffee in the morning and afternoon

one of the things mori always loved about you was your independence and ability to stand up for yourself. you were rarely shaken by other people

he was always impressed watching you handle things by yourself whenever the two of you were dealing with other organization heads in yokohama

you did know what you were getting into when you got into a relationship with the boss of the port mafia so you didn't want to be someone who'd weigh him down

and that's why you also tried to be useful with mori's work

whenever you had a meeting or an event to attend, you'd have to go to the bathroom to take time and collect yourself before engaging with people

mori prides himself at being good at reading people's feelings and he definitely notices this from you

he's not the type to push things unless you initiate them. but sometimes he finds time to usher you away so you have time to breathe

whenever you and mori go to events you always encounter a rude guest or two who'd question your place by the port mafia boss's side

usually you're able to argue with them until they're unable to speak but you're exhausted by the night you've had and the rude guest is just picking you apart

finally, you just can't take it from them anymore and rush to the bathroom

mori, of course, notices your absence decides to wait for you outside while you're trying to fix yourself and make it look like you weren't crying

your eyes are still red when you decide to leave the bathroom and of course you're shocked to see mori out there

he doesn't miss the look on your face and quickly asks about what happened

you're a bit intimidated being so vulnerable in front of mori but he wraps an arm around your waist and takes you somewhere quieter where you reluctantly talk about what was bothering you

after you finish talking mori just gently puts his hands on your shoulders

"do you want me to take care of them for you?"

despite how dangerous his voice sounds you end up laughing at that and mori's kind of puzzled but relieved to see you feel slightly better

he reassures you with the fact that you don't have to involve yourself with mafia work and he won't love you any less for it UwU

you were always drawn to fyodor because of how easily he was able to read you and connect with your thoughts

it's something that you found useful in your relationship since you weren't used to openly communicating your thoughts or emotions and because of that you came off as more 'independent' to other people

when you're around him you actually find yourself relaxing a little because he has a good handle on what you're feeling or what you really want

he likes to assure you that he doesn't mind you being vulnerable around him or asking for help (that is if he's not busy with his usual work)

one of the downsides to being with fyodor though was that he was always busy and the two of you could only go on dates around once or twice a month

so whenever he invited you for dinner it was always a big deal for you and you especially looked forward to them so you liked to spend a bit of time getting ready

it was no surprise when fyodor texted that he was going to be a bit late. you were used to it since he had stuff to do and you pulled up your phone or a book to pass the time while waiting at the table

you booked the reservation in advance anticipating this and you thought it was fine but then you noticed that one of the waiters would visit your table a bit too often

at first the questions sounded like concern 'are you alright? is there anything you'd like to order first?' but then they later became a bit more pushy

then they started making side comments about how your date maybe just ditched you and that you should go home already even though you knew very well fyodor was on his way

eventually, it became a bit much and their comments got to you so you started getting ready to leave while quietly blinking back tears when fyodor finally shows up

he's concerned when he sees your teary face which you quickly try to conceal but he strokes your hand gently to try to calm you down

immediately he suspects that it was because of something someone says and as much as he wants to hurt them, fyodor knows that you need the attention first

when you apologize for crying in front of him, he just blinks and says that you never have to apologize for doing that

he's not the best at comforting in general but he gently asks if you would rather order and eat at home with him instead

fyodor knows you missed him a lot (and he missed you but he's not gonna say that out loud yet) so he pays more attention to you for the rest of the night

he makes it a point now to arrive at dinner dates a bit earlier

hello! the amazing @callouiee tagged me in their post spelling their url with songs they like for me to do the same if i wanted and i thought it would be fun! they made theirs l&h/larrie related but i have such a long url that i think I’m going to use my favorite songs as well! this will also give me an excuse to gush about some of my fav songs

so i wrote the above paragraph and then tried to find and narrow down songs which proved to be very difficult lol. i probably made it harder on myself than needed bc i wanted to choose best and most perfect songs but there are just too many. this is the best list i could come up with, but i feel pretty good with it! if anyone ever wants to talk music, i’m so down i have so many favorites.

p.s. i really truly did gush about every song i’m so sorry for how long this is

s- Satellite (Harry Styles) this song is my baby. i love her with every fiber of my being. i have dance parties by myself in my apartment when this song comes on i literally can’t get enough of it. i honestly thought matilda would be my fav song off harry’s house cause like... it’s matilda, but this is the song i come back to most often from that album.

u- U.N.I (Ed Sheeran) okay so i have so many distinct memories listening to this song on the bus to/from middle school. anything from ed’s + album was my favorite. his stuff from that time used to be my favorite music along with 1D. i thought i was so cool when i memorized the rap part lol

n- No Children (The Mountain Goats) i will admit i did find this song through the tiktok trend but i absolutely loved that trend, i thought it was so cute. i listened to the full song shortly after discovering the song and it shortly became my second most listened to song of last year. w/o getting into too much detail, this song holds a special place in my therapy journey lol 

f- Fine Line (Harry Styles) what is there to say about her? she probably holds the biggest spot in music related to my healing journey. i fully annotated her once through the lens of my own therapy and healing journey. she means a lot a lot to me

l- Like Real People Do (Hozier) i am a hozier slut and i’m not afraid to admit it. i love anything this man puts out. sometimes i listen to his music like i’m a thirsty begger and his music is the only water that’s been offered to me in weeks. i could have put any of his songs on this list and you would have gotten the same reaction out of me. he makes me feel feral and ethereal at the same time.

o- Outer Space/Carry on (5SOS) god this song will never not get me. this song was my fine line of my middle school/high school years. if i ever see this song live i’m pretty sure i’ll die on the spot. i have a half-ish sleeve tattoo planned around this song. there’s like five songs on this list that i have tattoos planned around but none of them as big as this one. everything about this song is just perfect.

w- Written All Over Your Face (Louis Tomlinson) do i even need to say anything about this one? it’s been on repeat since the album came out. it’s literally so good and i know it’s everyone’s favorite but it’s for a damn good reason. have you heard louis’ voice?????? literally perfection absolute bop and i can’t stop listening to it. this is louis’ sound and i’m so proud of him

e- Emotions (5SOS) any time i make a new playlist of things i’m currently listening to to have one shuffle/repeat, i put this entire album on there. i feel like the more i listen to it, the more addicted i get. also, Liz told me this song was very me codded and i feel like that’s so true. i’m always in my emotions lol. also also, that little clap/slap that happens every so often in this song gives me an unnecessary amount of serotonin. 

r- Right Now (1D) i also could have put any one direction song on this list but there’s something about this song that has always had a grip on my brain. immediate performance mode whenever this song comes on. they’re my boys. my babies. i’ve been a fan for a decade now which is absolutely wild. i miss them

s- Spaces (1D) this might have to be in my top 5 favorite one d songs. i don’t know if i even have an actual top 5 but if i did, this song would be in it. i feel like i’m ascending whenever i listen to this song; it’s similar vibes to satellite in dance party mode for me if that makes sense lol i can’t help but move whenever i hear this song

o- Only the Brave (Louis Tomlinson) again, does this need any explanation? there was a while when i couldn’t listen to this song bc it hurt my closeted heart too much. it still makes me sad but also very optimistic. i hope i can hear this song live one day surrounded by fellows queers who’ve also found their family through the boys. it doesn’t make it a solo song anymore then does it? we’re a family; more of a family than any church i’ve been a part of. 

m- Mum (Luke Hemmings) another album where i could put literally any song on this list bc i love them all so much. this song, however, beats the others out ever so slightly as being my favorite. i’m noticing a pattern with my favorite songs: satellite, spaces, mum. they all have a really big build up to an absolute cathartic release later on in the song. mum does give me church song vibes but in the least song ruining way possible. this song actually inspired me to make a playlist of songs that make me feel like im ascending whenever i listen to them

e- Egg and Soldier (Cosmo Sheldrake) okay okay okay i know you’re thinking that this song came super duper out of left field and is really weird and i definitely agree but here me out. all of his songs are super fun and kinda weird but so so cool and unique and unpredictable. i have yet to come across a song of his i don’t love. they all make me feel so connected to my inner child/the creativity i pushed away for so long.

t- To Be Alone (Hozier) again, i’m a hozier slut. this might be my favorite song of his but i’m unsure if i can even pick a favorite hozier song. that slide on ‘feeeeeels good’ gets me every single time. i’m weak in the knees i’m obsessed. the grungy, dirty electric guitar???? i can’t it’s too much 

i- If I Could Fly (One Direction) i couldn’t not add this one. it’s iconic and makes me cry maybe half of the time i listen. who let them write, record, and release this song? it’s literally so raw and vulnerable and i know i’ve written some pretty raw poetry but i don’t think i’ve ever written anything on this level. like ?????? i forget this song is a real song they released and not something a fanfic writer made up

m- Matter of Time (Ashton Irwin) god this album destroys me in the best way possible. and this song???? literally speaks to me and my soul. this is another one i want to get a tattoo of. it’s just like a warm hug from an older sibling/older friend. everything’s gonna be okay bud

e- evermore (Taylor Swift) I do love me some good taylor swift, especially folklore and evermore. i don’t think this one is my favorite, that’s probably the lakes, but i do remember hearing it for the first time and absolutely loosing it at the word switch at the end of the song. it still holds a special place in my heart for the hopefulness it’s able to give me whenever i don’t have a lot of it.

s- Sunflower Vol. 6 (Harry Styles) and we’re ending on the song that i wish i could be. if i could have the vibes of any song it would be this one. i’m one of those obnoxious people that make sunflowers their whole personality and whenever harry released this song i went feral for it. i love her so much and i hope i grow up and make her proud.

Wambus or Triffany for headcanons?

Triffany

Sexuality Headcanon: I think Triffany has spent enough time studying non-western concepts of gender and sexuality to realize that she really doesn't need to put a label on what she loves, gender plays no part in what she's attracted to physically or romantically.

Gender Headcanon: Vaguely a woman. Like she's fine being perceived like a woman but that's just the tip of the iceberg. idk enough about grumpus culture to say anything more about this.

A ship I have with said character: I ship the canon ship of course, but I'm Gonna use Wambus's slot to talk about triffloofbus. Here I'll talk about Wiggleblog. .... actually I don't have a WHOLE lot to say other than hotted women and that one fic with wiggle/gramble/wambus/triffany and a Floofty grumpinati b-plot sold me on this. When it comes to ships it only takes one fic for me to start thinking about it.

A BROTP I have with said character: Listen I've said "liz" for like. most of these but ONCE AGAIN. LIZ. Ladies be falling in holes and going by she/it pronouns.

A NOTP I have with said character: Finally. FINALLY A CHARACTER WITH A NOTP FOR ME. Don't ship her with Shelda i guess. Triffany has too many gramma issues to get with a grandma aged lady.

A random headcanon: Autistic :o}

General Opinion over said character: When people pick between the two married women Floofty is friends with for them to have a crush on they more often pick Triffany. I have a massive crush on both. Triffany my beloved.

Wambus

Sexuality Headcanon: Married Triff before he got the chance to really think about that but is probably Bi. He doesn't particularly care about labels either but doesn't actively reject them.

Gender Headcanon: Loosely a man.

A ship I have with said character: *Cracks knuckles* Floofty Triffany Wambus Polycule for life. Wambus is pretty much Floofty's opposite. W F and T all thrive in different environments, too. But do I think Floofty would dig in the dirt to study the detris eating creatures beneath the soil nourishing wambus's garden? Absolutely. Would they enjoy being manhandled by the biggest grumpus in the expedition afterward when they knock over a plant that'll need a trellis to grow properly now? Yes. Do they get the metaphor there? NOPE. These two are dumb around women and even dumber in the other's element. A chance to learn. A chance to teach. A chance to worship Triffany like she deserves.

A BROTP I have with said character: Gramble Wambus friendship is too obvious with canon so I want Wambus to take back the "we are not friends" comment he made to Filbo.

A NOTP I have with said character: Eh. once again im not passionate about disliking stuff. Grambus is a ship i'm not willing to put in the effort to make it work but when people do its really great. usually involves giving gramble more agency than is habitual of this fandom.

A random headcanon: He may not know how to read as many languages as Triffany does, but the languages (yes plural) he does know are much more practical and he actually gets regular use out of them. Grumpus Spanish being the most common of his when he's back on the mainland.

General Opinion over said character: In love with him. meeting him right after Filbo and then followed up by beffica hooked me on the game. His realness lulled me into a false sense of security about the entire plot of the game, and really started me on the track to loving everyone in snaxburg. Also he's hot.

I finally finished it.

This mashup of ideas like Nightguard-Liz and @partnersatfazbear/@plotek-the-first’s “William had the custody case“ (and Glitchtrap merging with UCN Will) all set to the climatic number in Anastasia the Musical… is complete. And I’m pretty proud of it, timing differences due to laggy editing software (and a few other continuity errors) aside

I want to provide story context, but idk if I can. There are so many moving parts to this, it’s insane. I hope you guys can keep track. O o f. Might take a rewatch or two, and I’m sorry in advance if I’m right. 😅 Hey, maybe y’all can shoot theories? ;D

Also, there’s so many effects to this thanks to my editing/art software. If you’re sensitive to bright flashes of lights/colors and/or glitch-y stuff, then please exercise some caution before viewing. I’ve put the video below the cut just so nobody gets bombarded right away.

It had been near 2 months since she had seen Peter. In person, that is.

The relationship between Y/F/N and Peter Parker was an odd one. Best friends through middle school, they were like two peas in a pod. Inseparable to the point where Y/N was adopted as an honorary Parker.

In high school, tragedy struck both of them. Y/N’s mother left, divorcing her father and leaving for California. Ben Parker died, shot by a lawless mugger when he was out looking for Peter. Peter blamed himself. Y/N fell in with the popular crowd, looking for any chance to distract herself from her overwhelming anger. Peter became distracted, finding any and every excuse to escape school once he began an internship with Mr. Tony Stark. Peter and Y/N often vied for the attention of Liz Allen, their crushes on the woman making their anger with one another overflow whenever they were in each other’s presence.

In University, they reunited and decided to start over. One thing led to another and they quickly became lovers, with distance between.

Until she fell pregnant. 7 months into their relationship, she found out about the new life growing inside of her. She was ecstatic, but full of nerves. Peter was anxious, worried for his child and the woman he loved.

Life as Spider-Man was hectic. He grappled with the thought of her getting hurt because of him every day. He had seen the danger that had come to Pepper, what happened to Ben, Ned, almost everybody he held dear.

Her first trimester went by with a rocky start. Y/N fought with her own fears, wondering how she could be a mother when her own wasn’t there to teach her. Nevertheless, she loved peter. She gave her all to him, but he was distant, growing more so every day.

She didn’t want him to go. He had risked his life - and their relationship - far too many times in the past year. He knew it was a risk, he knew his life would be in danger every second he was undercover, but he still went.

Then Tony told him to go undercover.

She was in New York, about to hit her third trimester, and he was in Belgium, unaware of the life growing inside of her.

He broke the news to her of his undercover mission with Clint three nights before he left. That same day, he had missed their scheduled appointment to find out the sex of their baby.

To say there was an argument would be an understatement.

She had printed the picture up, gotten a card for him, and left it waiting on their shared bed for when he got home. Spider-Man was only half of his job, the other half was spent with incredibly long hours at the lab with Tony working on whatever their incredible minds could think of that day.

Sometimes she felt as if their relationship had been mostly made up of her waiting on him.

He had walked in the door, moving to gather his stuff together from the spare room they had in their apartment that housed his gear. They were set to turn it into a nursery.

He told her of the mission as soon as he walked in, immediately erasing the excited grin from her features.

“How long is it going to take?” She fought the nerves from building, knowing that the longest mission he had been on before had been two weeks. Tony told her when her and peter moved in together that Peter wouldn’t be expected to go on a mission any longer than that.

Peter sighed, grabbing a large bag. He had to head back for debriefing, and training before the mission began. He didn’t expect to be back home before he had to leave. He didn’t want to leave her, but he had came to terms with the fact that he was Spider-Man before he was Peter.

“I don’t know, Y/N. At least a month and a half-“

“You can’t go!” She interrupted.

Peter chuckled softly, paying no mind to her growing anger. “Yeah, I do. Clint and I are the only ones that can go unnoticed. Nobody has seen my face, and Clint has done so many undercover missions. He’s practically living a new life every month.” He hustled around the room once again, grabbing every box of spare cartridges for his web shooters. “After all, this is what I do.”

Y/N scoffed. Recently, he had been putting everything before his family. He missed their anniversary in favour of working on a new web formula with Tony. Her birthday was spent alone with nothing but a 10 minute phone call from him because he was on patrol. Now, he had missed the day they had both been looking forward to for months.

She didn’t want to be selfish, she loved him fiercely, but his child needed him too. Every time he left the house with his suit, she feared for his life. Now, she had the baby to think about too. It was about more than just her.

She tried to push down her feeling that he didn’t even want to be a father.

Peter rolled his eyes at her scoff. “Y/N. I’m Spider-Man. That means that I need to help people, not just be here when you want me to.”

“That’s not what it is, Peter!” She exclaimed, eyes widening at his words. “I’m due in three months!”

He rubbed his hand down his face, huffing. “Y/N, can you just stop? Please? I need to go, and you’re not going to stop me. This is my job. Tony and May are here.”

“I thought your ‘job’ was spending hours with Stark and forgetting that I exist,” she snarled, making quotation signs with her hands. Tensions had been high between them lately, the past two weeks turning their house into a war zone. She was sure her news would bring a happier note, but the news was all but forgotten at the time. “We are your family, Peter!

His eyes were blazing with anger, his bags in his hands as he slipped past her to the door. He spared a look at her swollen stomach, almost sadly.

“Peter!” She called after him as he ignored her, stomping through their apartment.

She tried a few more times, latching onto his hand as he got closer to the door.

“Please, don’t go. The last mission you were on, you came back with four broken ribs and a concussion. I can’t lose you, we need you,” he refused to look at her.

“You won’t lose me, y/n. I’m an adult, I don’t need you to babysit me. Enough, I need to go. This is about more than just you, so please cut the crap,” he sighed at her, anger pulling his brows down and crinkling his nose in the way she had memorized.

Y/N had struggled with trust issues since before her mother left, and she had used all of her courage to trust peter, but the anger and fear were too much, her mouth working without instruction. “Why don’t you just fucking admit that you don’t want to have a family, Peter? You’ve made it perfectly obvious that the baby means nothing to you!”

That set him off. “Grow the fuck up, Y/N. This may shock you, but this isn’t about you, for once! Don’t you ever say that I don’t want this child.”

She scoffed at him again, spitting, “you couldn’t even bother to fucking show up for the sonogram today. Our baby is fine by the way, not that it matters, obviously.”

His laugh was evil. “You’re so fucking perfect, aren’t you? I’m sorry that I have a job, unlike you. I fucking save people, every day. I don’t have time to hold your hand through fucking everything because you’re a narcissist!”

She was taken aback by his shout, her next words flying out without the filter between her brain and mouth coming into action. “You know what? Fine!” She shoved his arm away. “If you walk out that door, don’t fucking bother coming back. You don’t care that we need you here, so don’t even bother being apart of this.”

“You’re kicking me out because I’m going on a mission?” His laugh was sarcastic, almost full of disbelief. “You really are selfish, Y/N.” He wrenched the door open with his free hand, not bothering to kiss her like he always did before a mission. No further words were exchanged, only a longing glance at her stomach and a fleeting look in her eyes.

She was left in the quiet apartment.

She trudged to their room - her room, now - fighting the tears threatening to fall. The photo of their baby was sitting carefully on the bed right next to the card.

The dam broke, tears streamed down her face and sobs ripped from her chest.

She picked up the photo of herself and Peter from when they announced their pregnancy. He was on his knees in front of her, hands on either side of her small bump, smiling brightly with love in his eyes, and she was looking at him the same way.

She flung it against the wall, watching the glass shatter from the frame and fall to the ground.

She pulled the card up from its spot, reading over the words inside.

‘I have loved you all along, Peter. Thank you for beginning this journey with me. We’re so far from where we began.

I know that our little girl will be as perfect as you are.

All my love, Y/N.”

The two months has passed agonizingly slow. Her heart wrenched each day when she woke to an empty bed. Their baby grew steadily, now a month away from making her entrance.

Her new routine had been to watch the news every morning before her daily run. Her work hours had decreased, but she filled her schedule to clear her head, in order to stop the pain.

She hadn’t spoken to peter since he left, she barely even knew where he was.

Jedd Walters was on the news, his booming voice echoing through her house as she watched from the kitchen.

“This just in,” his voice grew more urgent. “After months of being undercover, we are saddened to report that beloved Avengers, Spider-Man and Hawkeye are missing after a KGB detonated bombing brought down the building they were in. After two days of searching, neither man has been found, but many Belgium citizens have been wounded, with no casualties as of yet. More information will come available as the story progresses.”

The scream that tore from her throat was full of pain, and the tears that fell from her cheeks burned.
