in other news' I ate those lizards in the lab and now every night at 3:22 precisely my little tummy glows green•

some homunculi sing with a lovely high voice that is called „homunculo„ by choir directors• they are valued for their ability to drone menacingly in descant•

i thought i had a cold this week' but it turned out to be a little slug•

master will be giving kids amulets when they come trick or treating this year¡¡¡

One last evening treat! Pivoting away from the current WIP and into a contextless thing I popped into Discord a couple weeks ago:

Hakoda rips back the covers of his son's bed to see the face of a fire nation soldier blinking owlish and unfocused up at him. Hands on Sokka's body. His boy still asleep and defenseless. Hakoda snatches what he can grab-- arm, throat, doesn't matter, he just sinks strong fingers bruising into  pale, strange flesh, tries to blank from his mind that fact that there is so much of that skin on display, and pulls-- He doesn't give the soldier time to get his feet under him. If it's a firebender (which Hakoda suspects, from the way the heat of that skin makes his palms break out in a sweat) he doesn't want to give it an opportunity to find its root and bend at him. He doesn't want to give it any longer to do more damage (how much had it already done while he was away? In his home, in his son's bed, in his-- no. No, he can't think about that now. After. After this thing, this invader has been dealt with). He twists his hand in such an old, familiar motion, until the soldier sinks to its knees with a pained gasp. His other hand hasn't let go of his spear yet. There's still blood from the tiger seals spattering the haft, frozen there before he could wipe it away. Wood and bone has never felt lighter as his hefts it and lines up his shot. A quick clean kill is more mercy than anything these marauding bastards have ever offered his people. Sokka slams into his back then, hands clawing frantically at Hakoda's raised arm.  "DAD, NO!!!"
