Long post about The Creak In The Attic incoming:

AU: L stays in the attic and he and Junior (Gary???) are besties that's it that's the AU

I wanted so much more of them becoming friends

I imagine it's been a while since L had a friend (probably not since Melson Nelson/whatever-his-name-was-by-the-end caused him to die during that thunderstorm), and Junior's gotta be lonely after he just moved cities (by the way, anyone else got reminded of Inside Out at that first scene or is it just me?), so them being friends would be good for both of them, they'd both have a friend now!

What if, with L being less lonely, he gets the hang of his ghost powers and stuff and can leave the attic by himself at some point? What if Junior shows him all the stuff that's changed in the neighborhood (and in general) since he died in the (insert whenever he died cause I can't remember)? What if they prank people together? What if they just hang out? What if L tells (writes? Or tells using sign language?) Junior all about his life, and they try to track down what happened to his family (if he had any?) after he died? What if L has trauma around storms and Junior comforts him? What if L comes to school with Junior and causes mischief? What if someone at Junior's school finds out and they think he has schizophrenia or something and they tell his dad?

*cough* What if they fall in love after some time *cough* I mean, what? Who said that? 👀

I have so many more thoughts, but I can't put them into words

I want to read a fanfic about this but my writer's block is too strong to write it myself, so I'm releasing these ideas into the wild with hopes of someone else getting inspired /hj

ok so i’m thinking about L, bc i am not normal about this longform, and how people could have possible gotten to Jim as his name and i have ideas

first one is that it’s a first name middle name situation, like Lysander Jim or something. where the first name is a bit too formal for every day things so he was just like “whatever i’ll go by jim”

second option, his middle name is James and he got the nickname Jim from James. so (and this is my favorite name for him) like Lucien James turned into just Jim

third one is exactly like the last one except he has two first names, Lucien James is his full first name (i also really enjoy this option)

fourth idea: it’s been so long since he died and no one remembers him (thinking like some form of ghostly amnesia or something, i’ll elaborate in a separate post if anyone wants me to!!) so he’ll go with any name you give him even if it never feels quite right

Tom's character fixing clocks is a really likable job. He strikes me as a gentle fellow who keeps his feelings to himself but it's still so nice that he sympathizes with his son missing New York

"Don't be scared," he says to himself. I love it immediately. I have visions of marrying him and comforting him when he's scared by thunderstorms. "Ohhh fudge!...I fancy some fudge for dinner..."

Sam is yelling too loud as usual. Stop screaming Sam

I love John Hobson. Such a dark spooky backstory tempered by such a nice friendly personality

here comes the neighbor...Melson Nelson? All right AJ, maybe you'll be able to remember that name. "What a curious first name." "Hey now, some people are from Wisconsin." YAYYY WISCONSIN MENTIONED

Love how they offer Mr. Nelson a seat and he refuses. Chair-J doesn't trust chairs anymore. Update: he forgot his name. "Melson Welson." "Nope."

It's funny and cute how the ghost is so excited and happy to see someone else. How refreshing that Sam can't talk for once

"How did you die? Raindrops...A heat-seeking missile." Hahaha Sam is so frustrated. Well, I guess you could call lightning that. John Jr finally guesses. The ghost applauds him sarcastically and rolls his eyes.

Mr. Nelson is telling Jon (apparently short for Jonathan so that changes the spelling) about how Jim got struck by lightning. Tom's losing it and laughing but pretending to be crying. It's adorable when Tom can't help laughing :)

"Well, Mr...Memento, was it?" "Memento Mori." I think the lightning fried Melson's brain a little too. Then Tom gets it wrong again. "Pimento Mori. The memory of olives."

Oh, his wife Alice is in New York but she'll be coming around later.

Jon comes back with the milk, sees them gone, says "I left my son with a strange man" and immediately starts running. We love Tom playing a good dad

Marty Nankmeyer or whatever the hell has gone up to the attic and OH BOY JIM IS POSSESSING JUNIOR AND MAKING HIM YELL AT HIM "YOU FCKING KILLED ME!!!" "WHY WAS YOUR KITE SO IMPORTANT TO YOU? WHO ARE YOU, BENJAMIN FCKING FRANKLIN???" Luke seems to be having fun being possessed by an angry ghost.

Tom just showed up as a ghost. AJ: "What the fuck is going oooooooonnnnn....."

Oh it's his GRANDPA who died on the PLANE that's so sweet, he loves his grandson and he's proud of him

Aaaand now it's the grandma with her loud friendly Jersey (?) accent. They're putting little sparkle emojis around her words in the captions. "By the way, you can have mojitos when you're a ghost!" It wouldn't be a SFTH longform if we didn't have Tom playing a woman. I love her

Junior is back with his dad, they hug, and Junior is pretty much okay. That's a nice change from all the children in the plays being traumatized. (God bless you Alexa.) Jon finds the clock got fixed by itself. "Guess someone's watching over me."

Junior goes to bed. Sam runs past as a shooting star. I expected Junior to wish on it but I guess he doesn't have anything to wish for, which is even better. Tom walks onstage and gently says "And scene."
