This post by @ashmeowi has me thinking of an entire GOTG!MLP AU so here we go

Star Lord: A pegasus. Keeps his hero codename because it already fits the format of most pony names. Was secretly an alicorn like his father, Heavenly Body, though he lost his horn after stopping his evil plans. His mother, River Lily, was an earth pony. His cutie mark is a ravager emblem, symbolizing his talent for thievery, but also leadership.

Forever Sky: A pegasus. Was part of Naturally Selective's experiments to create ponies with specific talents for his perfect society, and was his only success. Because of the experiments, he has raccoon-like features, marking him as not a "true" pegasi. His cutie mark is a rocket, symbolizing his talent for building machines that fly.

Groot: An earth pony. He would have a new name if not for the fact he can only say "I" and "am" and "Groot", exclusively in that order. Despite this, he has a real knack for growing things and nurturing life, hence his cutie mark being a pair of entwined branches shaped like an X.

Deft Dagger: A zebra. While she was Titan Terror's topmost assassin, she has defected to join the GOTG. Her cutie mark is a double-bladed dagger she received once from her adoptive father, and she keeps it covered most of the time due to her hatred for him turning her into a killer.

Brass Bruiser: An earth pony. He has sworn vengeance upon Titan Terror and initially tried to kill Deft Dagger before joining the team. He's known as "Sax the Destroyer" due to his cutie mark being a saxophone, the instrument he loved to play for his family before they were taken from him.

Whistling Blowhard: A unicorn. As a child, his horn was removed by the Kree before he escaped and joined the Ravagers, who gave him an artificial horn that allowed him to control his yaka arrow. He also aided Heavenly Body in abducting his children before taking Star Lord in. His cutie mark is an arrow piercing a heart, hinting at his soft interior.

Verdant Verity: A unicorn. She was another of Heavenly Body's children and was forced to help him bring in more before meeting Star Lord. Her magic allows her to sense and alter the emotions of others, hence her cutie mark being a heart formed by two hooves.

Blue Feelings: An earth pony. Another of Titan Terror's "children", she was forcibly given cybernetic parts but could never match Deft Dagger in combat. Her cutie mark didn't manifest during her childhood, but as an adult, she gained one depicting a hearth after making Knowhere a home for herself, her family, and for children like she once was.

Astro: A baby dragon. She lived on Knowhere before the GOTG bought it and takes care of their base while they're on missions. She also possesses the ability to send and receive messages for the team.

Gilded Redemption: An alicorn. While not adept at using his artificial powers, he is supposedly a cosmic savior with incredible physical and magical potential. Though initially made to retrieve Forever Sky by Naturally Selective, he eventually chose to help the GOTG and save Star Lord. His cutie mark is a lightning bolt, due to the nature of his quantum magic...

Thoughts on Jack Hawksmoor? Or Midnighter? The Authority in general?

The Authority...Isn't that the strike team Superman put together a while back to fight Mongul a while back? Eh, honestly we don't know a whole lot about them but I won't deny a lot of their membership is rather suspect.

(A "file photo" provided by Superman from internal feeds of the Fortress of Solitude) Superman was going through a period where he thought he might be losing his powers permanently due to old age and wanted to commit to a large, long lasting act of good that he would be able to point to if his career truly was coming to an end. Not wanting to take the Justice League away from the Earth he recruited a team of specifically for that job which consisted of a few choice members.

Apollo: A mysterious metahuman and agent of Stormwatch whose powers are sometimes said to be comparable to Superman's. I don't really approve of Stormwatch agents in general.

Enchantress: Freelance artist June Moon was empowered by a mysterious arcane entity, or cursed if you prefer, manifesting as a morally bankrupt alternative personality. Moon spent some time under the thumb of Task Force X before eventually being pardoned when the program was shuddered and currently runs with the occult strike team Shadowpact. She's paid her dues, I have no problems with her.

Kelex: A small, intelligent robot who maintains Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Has his own instagram. He's a cutie patootie and I would die for him.

Lightray: A mysterious, social media savvy heroine from LA. Don't know much about her but I also don't have a problem with her.

Midnighter: Another Stormwatch agent and metahuman with an uncertain past. Like I said I don't approve of ANY Stormwatch agent but this guy seems like a complete sociopath. The list of injuries and horrible deaths that he leaves behind him is a mile long and those are only the hazy operations we can mostly stick him to.

Steel: Not equally badass engineer and superhero John Henry Irons but his daughter Natasha who has a long history of work with teams like the Titans, the Justice League and working as a hero in Metropolis alongside her father, Superman and the rest of that crew. Also has my full support. Also ADORABLE on social media.

OMAC: Seemingly unrelated to the devastating Omac Virus from years ago, while I question their choice of codename I also don't have any reason to mistrust them.

Manchester Black: Manchester Black is a violent punk who couldn't tell his compassion from a hole in the ground. I truly have nothing positive to say about the man or his "Elite" and he can go shove the London Eye up his ass lengthwise.

As far as "Jack Hawksmoor" I looked him up and while he appears in the rolls for Stormwatch that is pretty much all I can tell you, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be a fan. As far as The Authority goes...eh *shrug* superhero teams are created on an ad hoc basis all the time and even if I don't trust a good chunk of its membership as far as I could throw it, I trust Superman's judgement too much to really bring down the proverbial hammer.

I had a dream about your runaway cultist au! It was! Something!

It started with Fluttershy pretending to join the village and then having a conversation with Starlight. She then got ownership of a really stupidly tall house and the friends could immediately tell something was up.

Jumping ahead to the confrontation on the mountains. Fluttershy still did not have her cutie mark for some reason while everyone else did. She stayed behind Starlight before suddenly jumping out, doing weird graceful swoops that were much more effective in battle than the failing around she was doing before. When she landed, we saw that her cutie mark had changed. It wasn’t the original, and it wasn’t the equality symbol; it was a dark purple square that contained a pink heart inside that pulsed slowly, making the square ripple. Twilight pointed out that cutie marks are not supposed to be animated, and Fluttershy retorted that this must mean that hers was the truest of all. She then disappeared into the tunnels at Starlight’s side.

Jumping ahead again, we’re now in Ponyville, and there’s a banquet happening. Fluttershy and Starlight infiltrate it, looking to steal the mane five’s cutie marks again. Ponies are everywhere eating fancy foods, and behind a curtain on stage, the five’s hooves can be seen poking out underneath.

We switch to Twilight’s POV. She reveals that this is actually a trap for Fluttershy. The world believed she was still a hero, and tonight, they would either save her, or reveal her for what she really is.

Back to the evil duo. After Fluttershy fails to sneak through the crowd, Starlight returns her cutie mark, just for this task. She easily finds a way up using butterflies (?) and prepares to jump Twilight.

As she falls, the curtains fly open, and Fluttershy hits the ground, her fur turning pale as Starlight hastily took away her cutie mark again. The crowd went dead silent, and the mane five stood behind her, glaring.

To save the situation, Fluttershy immediately shapeshifted into her vampire bat form, then her dragon form, then her kangaroo (form) and danced around in each one. The crowd, believing this to be a normal performance, cheered and went back to the party.

Twilight stepped forward, growling if Fluttershy had learned her lesson. Fluttershy shook her head and tried to reason with Twilight, explaining Starlight’s goals and how good it would be for the world. Twilight snapped at her to shut up, they would never stoop as low as she had.

Fluttershy started to leave, saying that she would try again at the next event, and Twilight stopped her. She declared there would never be another event, and Fluttershy and her ilk were never to return to Ponyville again. In fact, nobody else would be allowed to either, and nobody would be able to return. She was going to put a dome over the town like Trixie had, if that meant she would never target her people again.

Fluttershy swiped at her, and that was the last straw.

Starlight and Fluttershy ran through the streets as Twilight pursued, preparing a spell that would probably kill the two of them. Starlight noticed something above them and cast a spell, disguising herself as Princess Cadence. A moment later, Shining Armour flew past (he was a Pegasus now I guess) and said he knew he saw her here, and to follow him, quickly. They did.

Now we’re in the Crystal Kingdom. Princess Luna is flying above the castle, continuously casting some sort of spell, and Starlight (still disguised as Cadence) sits on her throne and thanks Shining Armour for the rescue, explaining that Twilight had gone mad and tried to kill her dear friend Fluttershy. Shining Armour believed her, and promised to keep Fluttershy safe.

They looked below the balcony, and to their surprise saw Twiling on the ground, furious. Starlight casted a spell that manifested as dark mist not unlike King Sombra’s power, and sent it down toward her. A line of power also came from Fluttershy and Shining Armour, which strengthened the spell and sent Twilight flying out of the kingdom.

Princess Luna landed and asked what was going on. Again Starlight explained that Twilight had lost her mind. Luna took this in stride and asked her about her progress with the riddle.

“Uhm, well, I don’t think it matters too much,” Starlight says, trying to hide the fact that she has no bloody clue what the princess is talking about.

Luna squints. “I rather say it does, Cadence. It’s the reason why the fog is gone. Without the fog, we cannot see the shield around the kingdom, which is why I’ve been maintaining this spell for you.”

Starlight nods hastily. “Okay, alright, that makes sense. And the riddle was…”

Luna shrugs. “Something about poodles. Have you figured out the answer?”

Starlight looked back at Fluttershy, who smiles and leans up to whisper in her ear. Starlight turns back to Luna and declares, “boars.”

With a nod, Luna flies off to find this boar. Exchanging a look, Fluttershy nods as well and follows Luna. And then immediately gets lost, but it’s a good thing, as she finds Twilight in the snow, talking to what looks like a sort of boar Minotaur.

Twilight sees Fluttershy and doesn’t hesitate, using a spell to slam her into the ground while the boar grappled her.

As Twilight shoots a magic missile spell, Luna deflects it with her own magic and puts a bubble around Twilight and the boar, which sinks with them into the ground and all the way to Tartarus.

Luna lands next to Fluttershy and puts a wing over her, telling her that she will be protected, and if there was anything else she could do to help. Fluttershy looks back at the palace and said, “yes… there’s someone I’d like you to meet.”

Obviously wanted to give Leo a Space Heroes hoodie and just star pajama pants, really the first look is just something comfy and cozy cause the bab has so much trauma, he deserves it!

SECOND ONE!!! I wanted to give Leo something frilly as a treat! but also just something inspired by Japanese kimono cause she definitely just adores kimonos...with how in tune they are with Japanese culture, so I went with a classic wave pattern for the kimono and went all out with the stars and glitter motifs on the skirt!

I just loved keeping the space and star motifs for Leo cause the bab ADORES space so much! And I wanted to keep the vibes comfy and practical in one outfit and just...fun frilly dress in the other cause I imagine thats how Leo is especailly with my headcanon of the bab being genderfluid.

He always always goes for the practical things, simple ways to show her more feminine days, like tying her mask up in a bow. Truly, Leo is just a simple and practical person but also has days of wanting to dress up in something fun and exciting! And I wanted to show both here-

HIIIIII 7.Do they have any unusual fears? SNAILS LMAO just like u and me sable.............. she saw a bunch gather together in her dog's bowl once and cried and had to get her dad to empty it out. she doesn't like bugs very much in general but thats not that unusual. i think she has normal fears that are the Horrors

8.Do they collect anything? If so what and why? Erina is a shopaholic so there are various things she will buy but not enough to start a real collection of, may think of starting one but falls through after realizing sh has a hoarding problem and is not an actual appreciator of things... like she loves cute toys, will have an abundance of plushies but then they fall on the floor because she rolls around so much in her sleep and forgets to pick them up. But even tho she knows this about herself she will continue to buy things like keychains and statuettes that could possible turn into a collection but are thrown around carelessly

10.Do they have any regrets? I think Erina has a lot of regrets... she is both nostalgic and a secret pessimist so there's a lot of regretting and anxiety in her past actions. Like in college she regrets trying to social climb and still felt lonely with no close relationships. She will regret a lot of friendships that have come and gone. She regrets her first and only relationship before osomatsu, where it ended really fast and poorly because she wasnt ready for the emotional weight (was too paranoid and dishonest with her feelings, was with someone out of pressure, and ended up getting more sad because her ex ended up moving onto a new relationship very fast.) etc etc she has many regrets that she feels were her fault

31. What superpower would you choose for them and what would they choose for themselves? If they have one would they choose something else? hmmm ive thought of erina maybe having villain powers like if bottled up feelings rolled off her and manifested as little bugs or imps that turn other people into funny monsters (precure style)... but if theyre good feelings theyre little fairies that look like her and give u little kiss <3 .. and about what erina would choose... erina is only about aesthetics so she chooses powers based off what outfit she would wear as a superhero, so she would be like "i wanna be a puppy makeup hero and summon a big bone weapon and its really sexy like *draws outfit*"

50. What is your favorite thing about them? I love that she is... silly cutie... LIKE trying to be a flashy party goer but inexperienced and naive and overall cringe fail. it is cute... gap moe wild peppy gyaru is a virgin loser too... a little innocent, is cute <3

This time we're covering my most current Campaigns OC and some older TTRPG OCs as well as one Text based roleplay OC. I figure this is the most fun way to celebrate Lesbian Visibility Week. Flora Feral aka Twister

Flora is a fun OC in that she was based off of a character from my Webcomic Wish from an early issue I never got to release and I reenvisioned the concept for the cancelled podcast I was on Super Streets. Since then she's been slightly tweaked again a few times as she has gone to slightly different settings since Super Streets cancelation and changes in the people that could be in her life. She was a doomed playbook in Masks so she has the associated tropes although those existed in the OG version of the OC which was created before Masks: The Next Generation was even published. Flora Feral is possessed by the goddess Sorra, a powerful elder goddess forgotten to history whom her mother sacrificed her too after finding out she was trans and wanting nothing to do with her. Sorra killed her mother in turn but granted the family the fortune that was her end of the bargain. Flora died but came back perhaps thanks to Sorra or perhaps thanks to her own will regardless she is slowly being consumed by Sorra, every part of her spirit and herself will one day be Sorra and there will be no Flora left at all. With her limited time she tries to hold Sorra back from killing people and to make the world a better place even knowing every time she uses her powers it brings her own demise ever closer. Flora lost her girlfriend getting visions of Sorra killing her if they remained together she broke up with her and had been a solo act since even if she cares deeply for people she worries about how Sorra may hurt them.

Mystic Cutie L aka Mara

Mara is from my most active and recent campaign in the Setting Hope At Art's End, a Setting that you may be able to play yourself in the next Thirsty Sword Lesbians expansion. Mara is a magical girl from the world of Mystic Cutie Sailor L. She's the leading lady and when her world was being altered by the Mouse Princess to turn into the "family friendly" Sandwich Squad her girlfriends in a moment of clarity gathered their power up to set her free by launching her into another world and send her into Art's End. Loaded with the trauma of being turned into "Cutie lettuce" Mara attempted to pantomime acting like her old self but she had a deep rage, sorrow and more she felt would manifest when fighting agents of The Mouse Princess. Mara does her best to keep it together but until she saved her world she was really struggling to make connections always feeling like she shouldn't feel real joy when her girlfriends were suffering in their own world forced to act out a shame of a life. She's now happily shifted from the Trickster playbook over to The Matriarch and it was really fun to explore a take on the Trickster that actually worked for me since normally it was one of my least favorite conflicts to play.

Fearless aka Maria, Elena and Sapphire

Coming from a Masks Campaign Fearless is an adaption of some concepts from a comic I have had on the back burner for a long time Lipstick. The Reformed Fearless was made up of two girls fused together and their persona that formed between the two of them as their own person. Maria gave up her life of crime to make it where Elena and Sapphire wouldn't need to have to deal with the consquences of her actions but also to help her crush EliZe the elder goddess live her dream of being a super hero. They joined a team of teen super heroes and helped fight against the wild forces attacking the city from alien dragons to evil companies they dealt with it all. All the while being one of the most chaotic elements on the team always willing to challenge what was good or evil. Maria dated a teenage reincarnation of Morgan Le Fey, the fearless trio had a big polycule, their was time travel and all sorts of good stuff between the three. As they grew together they eventually decided to leave the team behind to open up a bakery Elena wanted to do and for them to return to a life of being gay doing crime now that they've dealt with the system more and saw all of it's flaws. They do keep up friendly relationships with several former team members including becoming the arch enemy of one of their best friends but like in a fun way, almost romantic.

Xena and Seraphina Aka Dreamer and Loki

Another set of OCs I used in a Masks campaign brings in Xena and Seraphina. Xena was The Brain and Seraphina was The Legacy. I played both at the same time unable to pick between the two I simply tied the pair together. Xena and Seraphina are girlfriends who love each other a lot. Xena was kidnapped by the queen of nightmares and while she was kidnapped for her genius mind Seraphina become Loki to try and save her but in the end was still unable to break into the realm of Nightmares. Xena escaped Nightmare and the pair were reunited becoming super heroes as they attempted to defeat an company that was at odds with nightmare too. The pair did their best to play both sides along with their friends eventually managing to take both forces out. The two both fell for other women but remained together in a polyamarous relationship. The two can be a bit co-dependent at first but as they recovered from their trauma they learned to count on the others alot more.

Azucar Scamsly Glasc

Azucar isn't from any particular campaign but instead if an OC that comes from a League Of Legends inspired written roleplay. She is my problematic baby girl, my sweet terrible child. Azucar is Renata Glasc's girlfriend but to keep it under cover she's technically adopted by her and simply a musical talent she is using to earn revenue across Runeterra but particularly from the Piltovens. She is part of a found family of swindlers originally intending to just scam some money from Renata with her job singing at a Zaunite club the two came to mutually respect each other as they both one uped each other in a mental battle. Azucar might have been able to match Renata at wits but she is 100% on her team and devoted to her goals happily submissive to her dommy girlfriend. She's always down to do a murder, manipulate people, put on a role or a character and really just mess around with folks. She is part Fairy but hides that part of herself since people don't believe Fairies are even real but her powers prove they very much are. Azucar has been through the ringer living life as a poor zonite orphan and she's seen the high life of Piltover being the best friend to one of the richest people in Piltover. Azucar refuses to live a life being treated like dirt and she'll do whatever it takes to live the kind of life she wants. Renata puts that into a cause she can believe in, burning down Piltover which puts her in an angsty situation with her best friend and long time crush. It is really fun to really root her in the setting and explore the characters and world that will likely never really get explored to their fullest.

So I started watching "I was banished from the hero's party and moved to the country side" and it's a fairly nice slow romance with magic and standard dramas, but like, why is the magic system just my little pony cutie marks? Spoilers for first 6 episodes, mostly of mechsnics

Everyone is preassigned one, which manifests in adolescent,

They give the users the urge to use the provided skills,

They are entirely random and unbalanced,

Most people fall into the roles given to them by the mysterious powers but you can still go your own way (ie: cheese sandwich and his stand up comedy being unrelated),

Theres an illness that gives you multiple

It's just like the cuties mark concept taken to conclusions

"'Scuse me," said Higuchi, drawing attention to herself again.

Izuku attempted to refrain from fidgeting, but... there was just so much going on. So much new information about quirks, about his friends, about One for All... it was all he could do to keep from fidgeting, either with his own hands or with One for All's hands. He wanted to whip out his notebook and start writing, but the seats in the Demonstration Hall were close together, and Kacchan was nearby and some memories from junior high were deep...

One of the hands of One for All (Nana's, maybe?) fluffed his hair in a vaguely chiding way, and he muttered an apology.

"Okay," said Higuchi, "now that y'all've got that, some other housekeeping details. First off, none of the quirk manifestations will take much in the way of weight. More'n a few extra pounds per square inch, and they'll go poof. As long as it's within my three day time limit, they'll reform, but they'll take the energy to do that from you. In fact, y'all might be noticing that forming them in the first place took something out of you. Other things... don't try to feed them. Don't set 'em on fire - that always gets weird, even if they don't poof."

Izuku wasn't the only one to look at Todoroki's already-on-fire bird.

"Don't try to eat them... And don't try to get to far away from them. That can cause them to disperse and reform, too, and how far away you have to get for that is different for each person. Yeah. Yeah, I think that's it." She gave the students a little wave. "Have fun with your quirks, everyone!"

"Wow," said Izuku, "I wonder why she didn't become a hero with such a convenient ability."

"What do you mean, Midoriya?" asked Mineta. His change was subtle, just a moving ooze-like pattern over his hair balls.

"Well, it sounds like her ability could be used to create instant weak spots. Even for a quirk like Kirishima's, if you can keep making the manifestation, um, poof, then you can eventually wear down the person."

"It's because she wanted to teach elementary school," said Aizawa. Izuku jumped. He'd somehow forgotten he was there.

He blamed all of the fascinating physical quirk manifestations around him. Yaoyorozu, sitting just on the other side of Mineta, glowed. It really added to her image as a goddess!

"Oh," said Izuku, "I bet it's really useful there, too." Especially with early quirk counseling. Well... That assumed she had an occupational use license... not that the lack of one had stopped the teachers at Aldera...

Anyway! No time to think about that! He had quirks to study! Including, and especially, One for All!

Principal Nezu got back up on the stage. "Please take the rest of the day to familiarize yourself with your quirks," he said. "Starting tomorrow, we will be running special lessons that take them into account."

And with that, the were dismissed. 1-A naturally gravitated to Ground Alpha, where they were sure to have lots of room for practice... or just to spread out and compare quirk effects.

"Alright!" said Kaminari, grinning at them and holding up his quirk manifestation, a long, pale yellow creature with long ears that was otherwise somewhere between a weasel and a hedgehog. "Who else has a new little animal bestie?"

"Me! Me!" said Ashido, jumping up and down. "Look at this cutie!"

Izuku... didn't know if he'd call that cute, exactly, but it was visually interesting. Like a wide, flat sea slug that folded over Ashido's shoulders like a cloak.

Other than her and Todoroki... yeah, that was it, actually.

"Do you think we could battle them like Pokemon?" asked Kaminari.

"Hm," said Todoroki, glaring lightly at his two birds (which were still fighting). "Pass."

As Kaminari and Ashido tried to battle each other, Izuku turned his attention to his other classmates. Some hardly looked changed, but for others... Kirishima had patterns on his skin that were reminiscent of what he looked like when he activated Hardening. Jiro's showed lines leading from her jacks and ears that went all over her body. Aoyama had both glitter and sickly-looking cracks radiating out from his stomach. Tokoyami's Dark Shadow had become much more solid-looking, almost like a double following him around.

It was amazing, it was fascinating, it was--

A bit strange, the way that he wasn't able to get a closer look at anyone.

"Todoroki, do you feel like... people are avoiding us?" asked Izuku. One of the hands patted his shoulder in a reassuring way. Absentmindedly, he patted one back.

"No," said Todoroki, who was staring intently at One for All's hands.

"Must just be a coincidence, then," said Izuku. His eyes wandered over to Aizawa and All Might, who were supervising them. Both of them were looking at him.

Coincidence.

Maybe there was something unusual about his quirk manifestation? He hadn't even thought about that, really, and he should have. He missed too much when it came to this quirk, like when he hadn't realized that All Might had been quirkless. What if he gave away the secret of One for All?

Another reassuring pat made him take a deep breath. No. Surely, hands weren't that unusual.

He looked at them. Seven pairs and one extra, for a total of fifteen hands. He brushed his fingers over the golden extra, the one he was sure corresponded to All Might. The shape was right.

What would they do if he activated One for All...?

He pulled up Full Cowl, and the grip of the hands became firmer. He could feel them, ready to lend him their strength. All Might's hand wrapped around his right wrist, giving the aching bones just that little bit extra relief.

He smiled, and whispered his thanks.

He loved quirks, and he was going to make the most of this one.

Class 1a are hit with a quirk that cause them to show ways of how their quirks effect them like aizawa's hair floats and eyes stay permanently red while bakugou's palms glow and momo's skin glows(like a goddess)

but ofa manifests like 8 pairs of glowing hands wrapped around izuku like a hug or pat on the back

feels re assuring for izuku, looks really creepy for everyone else

Izuku has a hand ruffling his hair, a fist pressed to his heart, a splayed palm on his back pushing him forward, a pair on his shoulders in reassurance, hands wrapped around him in a hug, some holding to his arms to balance him, some around his legs to lift him up. It's strange, but not uncomfortable- it feels nice, even

Except Class 1A, who've all seen Shigaraki in his full Hands McMike outfit at USJ, are having flashbacks and nervously trying to figure out why a strength quirk looks like that.

The Beta Team That Never Was - Fanfiction Corner (BH6 Edition)

So all of this Peni Parker comic talk actually got me thinking about the process of her being included in my fanfiction.

I wish I could tell you it was a long and arduous process, but...

OK, maybe some of it was hard.  But when you have a virtually endless supply of Marvel characters that you can use for possible teammates for Big Hero 6, you have to go with your gut.

We all know that the team will be Robbie, Aspen, Peni, Doreen (eventually), and Kate.  But there were six other candidates that could have been in the mix as well.

And five of them have their emblems here:

These were made before I actually knew how to make hero emblems properly.

Some of them you might recognize.  Some you may not.  But we’re going to go through them all, from left to right.

And to start...it’s really hard to draw tiny hearts.

1.) Riri Williams/Ironheart - Ironically enough, it was around the time that Hiro started chasing Sirque around the town in “Portal Enemy” that I started brainstorming her.  A teenage genius, stuck as to what to make, sees “Captain Cutie” and the chase on the news and gets brainstorming.

Thus, the Power Armor is born.

And she gets so excited that she bolts off to San Fransokyo to show her idol what she’s created.

And then, as per the Big Hero 6 Fanfiction Clause states...shenanigans ensue.

It was an interesting possibility, but the thought of Ironheart was really late into me doing the backstories of the people that I had chosen, so she was pushed aside.  I don’t personally see me revisiting her in the future, but who knows?

2.) Nadia Van Dyne/The Wasp - Back when Karmi had first been pulled out of SFIT, there was a young woman who wanted to recruit her into a special organization.  It was one that brought together the greatest female minds in their fields, and Karmi was on said recruitment list.

The organization?

Genius In action Research Labs, or G.I.R.L. for short.  And it was led by the Wasp’s daughter, Nadia Pym (later changed to Nadia Van Dyne).

Plot-wise, this was probably the person that I got the farthest with, since the story would’ve been more of a focus on Karmi than anyone else.  Also, the idea of writing someone with Bipolar Disorder (which Nadia was confirmed to have in her latest solo run) was intriguing if nothing else.

Unfortunately, it sort of dried up from there.  A lack of a central conflict, uncertainty as to how many of the other girls (Taina, Priya, Shay, and Ying) to have, and how to handle her actual powers stopped it cold.

But seriously, how do you write in the ability to shrink to microscopic size?  That’s not really a thing, even in a world as futuristic as San Fransokyo.

3.) America Chavez/Ms. America - The mere idea of a Superman-esque Latina teenager was enticing, especially because America, in her relatively short comic history, was with the Ultimates and the West Coast Avengers (meaning there was a possible Kate/Hawkeye angle).  Making start-shaped portals was the Silent Sparrow angle, and the all-around badass, headstrong attitude would be the counter to Honey Lemon’s more nurturing personality.

But being from an alternate universe (which has very recently been retconned in the comics in part because she will be appearing in the MCU and Doctor Strange 2), no real villain to play off of, and becoming possibly way too overpowered for the BH6 universe, she was scrapped.

It’s quite a shame.  I really like her in the comics that she’s in.  Perhaps there will be an opportunity for her somewhere down the line...

4.) Alison Blaire/Dazzler - A pop star with light-based powers?

Or better yet, a struggling artist with acoustikinesis?

Her power to convert sound into light was what originally drew me to her.  Something that could be made into a technological ability, unique enough to put a (pardon the pun) spotlight on it.

An actual blonde instead of whatever HL’s hair color is.

Heck, she even has a half-sister named Lois that could have been the antagonist (death tough, destruction waves, and the like).

But she quickly got lost in the fold.  Better ideas (like Kate and Doreen) got more of my brainstorming, and she was eventually given up on.

But funnily enough...

It’s almost like she’s already in the show.

(See, for the people who may be new, one of the many Marvel theories that I’ve touched upon is that High Voltage is actually this universe’s version of Dazzler.  Juniper is Alison and Barb is...well...Barbara London, Alison’s mom).

5.) Cindy Moon/Silk - I knew right from the get-go that I wanted a Spider-person on the beta team.  I also knew that I didn’t want Peter.

No offense to Peter Parker.  He’s fine.  But there’s a billion other Spiders out there, and I wanted someone out of the normal vein of Peter, as well as even Miles and Gwen.

And in came Cindy.

Locked away in The Bunker because of her spider powers manifesting, she was eventually released by Peter and thus began her entrance into the main Marvel world.

Her “unique ability” is her improved Spider-Sense, which Peter has said is even better than his own.  That, plus her other powers, brought her the closest out of anyone to being a member of the Big Hero 6 Beta Team.

As we all know, however, Peni ended up getting the spot over Cindy (for the family angle with Hiro and the giant robot that she pilots).  On the other hand, Cindy would later make her debut in the stinger of the last chapter of Along Came The S.P.I.D.E.R., along with Miles, Anya, and Joey.

Unlike Riri, Nadia, America, and Alison, Cindy and the rest of Peni’s little Spider Society are going to be showing up in future stories.  And if I can get everything in order, they will be starring in their own story set in the Big Hero 6 universe.

Finally, I have no emblem for them, but the honorable mention goes to...

6.) Lunella Lafayette/Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur - Yes, there was a point in time where I was seriously considering putting a nine-year-old super genius and a giant red T-rex into my stories.

Ignoring the giant...”red flag” here, the reason why Luna never made it is the same reason why I haven’t put Rishi in anything yet.  It’s because I don’t really know what to do with supergeniuses that young.  Hiro is at least a teenager and thus has teenager-y problems to fall back on (like puberty and Karmi and all that jazz), but a nine-year-old?  That’s a little too extreme for me.

When I was nine, I was busy playing with sticks in my backyard with my brother, not solving unsolvable puzzles from Bruce Banner.

...All that, and the giant dinosaur.

But hey, at least Disney is jumping on the MG/DD train.  That’s good to see.

Crossover potential, perhaps?

P.S. - As I was finishing putting this post together, it occurred to me that I may get this possible question in the comments, so I’m going to head it off at the pass.

“You know that all of your possible superheroes are girls, right?”

First of all...sexist.

Second of all...true.

That was about 90% on accident.  The actual team (Robbie, Aspen, Peni, Doreen, and Kate) has only one guy on it (two if you count Eli, three if you count Tippy-Toe).

I don’t really have a good explanation for that.  I like all superheroes, but I think that the girl and woman superheroes need some spotlight, you know?  I could have pulled people like Namor or Miles or the male Hawkeye into the mix, but to be honest, I find the characters I chose more interesting than a lot of the guy characters I was contemplating.

Of course, nothing is stopping any of you from using those characters in your stories.  Be my guest, not that you really need my permission or anything.

But you can’t take Aspen.  Aspen is mine. (Spoiler: Aspen is not mine.)

Super Hiro Transformation Sequence

“And that... should do it.” Hiro looked at his latest work. In his hand was a seemingly innocuous, white-disked object. It was his prototype Phase III armor compacted into the disk with titanium composite nanobots that would form his armor when he needed it. He smirked, “Time to test this bad boy out.”

He looked around the lab, making sure he was alone. “First, I need a heroic quip... what would Fred say? ‘Time to go Phase 3!’... no, how about, ‘it’s time to be a super Hiro!’” He shook his head again, now thinking about himself being a comic book hero.

Making a narrator voice like Fred, the boy self-narrated himself, “Our young genius finds himself cornered by villains seeking to capture him!” He places this disk on his chest and activates the mechanism, smiling at his imaginary opponents, “Me, come with you? Too bad for you sub-par villains, I’m no ordinary teenage genius. For I am...!”

The disk latches to his chest and nano-machinery begins to surround his body and form his new armor throughout. Once it completes, he strikes a heroic pose straight out of a cartoon he used to watch with Tadashi.

Finishing his phrase, “Captain Cutie! Defender of peace and justice. And you’re coming with me!”

Suddenly hearing something fall behind him, he hears a squeal and yelps out in surprise to see Karmi standing right behind him. Unbeknownst to him, she had arrived to surprise him with Yaki Taco... only for her to be front row seat to his show.

She screams with fangirl energy, “That was the cutest, coolest thing ever!” In her eyes, he just did a “magical girl”-style transformation sequence. She turns away to gush as Hiro’s face flusters within his helmet, “K-Karmi... didn’t know you were there... Can you not tell any of the others about this?” He chuckled nervously and smiled at her as she continued to fawn over his new suit.

Note: I wanted to design the Phase 3 armor I made in my Penitent Sparrow fic and adapt it, but then this scene popped in my head lol. The design has elements of Hiro Takachiho’s suit in the original, along with element choices from the ultra armor. It can manifest through nanobots that he’s developed further after working with similar tech with Karmi during CoM. His helmet features a neurotransmitter to modulate the strength enhancement of his Nanodex 2.0, along with an interface with Baymax who feeds him data in real-time and monitors his health. Along with his array of magnetic functions, he has his sonic wave emitter and hand/feet thrusters.

How?!

Class 1B knows that Tsuburaba Kosei never holds back his blunt statement and honesty. He reminded the teachers about missing assignments. He never missed the chance to jabbed at Monoma for being such a poor sport. Hell, he got a genuine Kendo-chopped wound on his neck when he straight out stated that ‘Mudman is an awful name’ right onto Honenuki’s face. So...

HOW THE HELL SOMEONE LIKE HIM MANAGED TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP FIRST?!

“Run that by with me again, Tsu-kun?”

“I want to ask out Asui-chan on a date, Rin!”

“...why?”

“Because her tongue made me feel giddy, Kaibara!”

“That’s the problem! Why tongue?!” Awase slammed his fist onto the dining table in Class 1B dorm. They are not the only ones present though. Each member of Class 1B have decided to loitered around their living room after their first Joint Training with their sister class. It was successful if you don’t count Class 1A’s resident broccoli’s sudden quirk manifest.

All in all, it was peaceful until Tsuburaba Kosei decided to dropped a metaphoric bomb.

Wanting to have a girlfriend or boyfriend in high school is normal, even though training to be heroes (‘that are infinitely better than Class 1A scums’ quoted from Monoma) might make it harder.

The class would definitely support their fellow classmate’s love life, had it not been for such a vulgar reason!

“Why not tongue? It’s the very feature that got me interested after all. Besides, she’s cute! And her ‘kero kero’ lisp is so adorable!”

Tsuburaba’s inner social group heaved out sigh of relief. Looks like he did think it through with his remaining brain cells.

“While I am not up for romancing one from that trashy class,” Monoma sneered before dodging barely from Kendo, “when are you going to ask her out?”

He grinned at the egoistic blond as he stand up from his seat full with self-reassured confidence that only a blunt fool like him can gather. “Well, as soon as possible. So, right now!”

Humming to himself, he quickly walked out from the dining hall, leaving his horrified classmates behind. In no time, Kaibara, Rin, Awase and Shishida immediately went after the brunette. They caught up to him halfway to Class 1A’s dorms. Tsuburaba somehow have a bouquet of flowers, which are probably some random flowers in the bush.

“Sir Tsuburaba, please reconsider this hasty decision! You only met Lady Asui properly today and it has not been a very good impression from both sides!” Shishida protested. He had already witnessed firsthand on how terribly straightforward his brunette friend can be and how bad the consequences after his antics can be.

“Take it from Shishida, man!” Kaibara added in while trying, and failing, to pry that awful bouquet away, “There’s no way you are going to get a girl with how unromantic you are!”

“Does it really have to be now, Tsu-kun? There are always next time. You can gather your thoughts up nicely after a few days, you know?” Rin gestured stressfully as he tried to maintain a calm facade. But how can he? When the most terribly executed confession Tsuburaba is about to attempt is going happen way too soon for the air quirk user’s own good? He would not let one of his best friends getting his heart broken for a crush that started just hours ago!

Unfortunately, Tsuburaba tuned them out in favour of the doors that are within his reach. As quickly as to prevent his best friend from being the main protagonist of his own tragic love story, Awase welded both his and the blunt fool’s hands together to stopped him from knocking the door. Tsuburaba furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

“Awase, can you unweld me? I need to knock the door after all. We can hold hands later if you want.”

“No! You idiot! Have you not been listening?!” the headband wearer exasperated loudly, which he unknowingly attracted the residents of the dorm.

“We are doing this for your own good! At least plan a better time to confess, you doofus!”

“Confess to who, kero?”

“To you!” Awase answered to the frog girl behind him. His brain did an instant reboot when he realised who he had just blurted out to. He unconsciously unwelded their hands, the Solid Air user beamed as he pushed his friend aside to present the flowers excitedly to the Frog mutant. Her classmates behind her expressed differently, varied from unholy screeches to muted gapes. It’s quite expressive, if you counted the increasingly pale faces from Tsuburaba’s raven-haired buddies and the fainted figure of one Shishida Jurota.

Asui took the flowers with no hesitation before intensely checking out the brunette from Class 1B.

“What’s so good about me that you like, Tsuburaba-kun, kero?”

“Your tongue, at first! It made my heart thumped when you first wrapped it around me!”

“FUCKING DISGUSTING, YOU EXTRA!”

“Shut up, Bakugou-kun, kero. Anyways, kero, this is the first time people complimented my tongue. Usually, they got grossed out but they get used to it as time goes.”

“To be honest with you, I was supposed to think it was gross since you know, tongue, but it would make no sense if you feel butterflies in your stomach instead of vomit!”

Asui giggled as the crowd around the two felt scandalised at the blatant honesty. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to mention vomit during a confession?! Tsuburaba Kosei apparently.

“You are quite cute, kero. Call me Tsu.”

First name basis, already?!

“Right back at you, cutie froggie! Call me Kosei! Is this a yes to a date?”

A date?! When did he mention a date?!

“Oh? What date, kero?”

“Not sure! I came to confessed to you as soon as I could.”

Way too rush and way too honest! Tsuburaba, what the hell?!

The couple(?) seems to pondered a bit before curling up their lips. Before anyone realised what happen, both of them clasped their hands together as they walked towards UA forest.

“Are you sure you didn’t choose this because of me, kero? Admiring greenery doesn’t seem to suit you at all, Kosei-kun, kero.”

“Nope! Besides, we could play Twenty Questions about ourselves, Tsu-chan!”

“Quite ingenious, kero. I thought you are going to suggest movie dates.”

“No way. Movie dates should be saved for cuddling sessions in the near future.”

From the way Tsuyu croaked, she seems satisfied with his answer. And then she pecked his lip, which halted the incoming group of Class 1B as they passed by them, blissfully ignorant while Kosei playfully pecked her back.

“What the fuck did we missed?” Tokage Setsuna, who was in it for the drama, gawked at the newly-formed couple. No one answered her. They were way too busy contemplating on the two most bluntest people seems to live in a different world for the boy’s confession to work.

7 - Main Characters

Geralt - Very attractive man. His personality is hard to pin down in the games since it's an RPG but in the books and shows it's obvious that while he pretends to be a super neutral, unemotional witcher, he's actually the totally compassionate hero type.

Yennefer - Super hot. A very grating character, however, though I love how distinct and defined her personality is.

Ciri - Possibly the coolest character in the franchise besides Regis. Princess. Victim. Outlaw. Witcher. Bisexual icon. She's so great and multi-faceted and strong, I adore her. Also very very in love with her Witcher 3 appearance. In the show, I think they captured her near-fearlessness and determination very well. She is exceptional.

Dandelion (aka Jaskier) - Real cutie. Usually, I describe him as Geralt's PR guy. Constantly in need of saving. Brings out the light-heartedness in Geralt. My favorite thing about him is how easy it was for him to actually recognize that Geralt is a person, not just a witcher. In the show, he seems to be super in love with Geralt. "Burn Butcher Burn" is a Taylor Swift–level breakup song. It just is.

8 - The Lodge

Triss Merigold - She was kind of nice in Blood of Elves, helping Ciri and all that, but her involvement with the Lodge of Sorceresses and also her repeated, embarrassing attempts at coming onto Geralt kind of ruined my opinion of her.

Phillipa Eilhart - This bitch! She's so presumptuous and rude and entitled. Jesus. Really the physical manifestation of every negative stereotype of sorceresses.

Francesca Findabair - A relatively tolerable sorceress. In the show: Cool, but more emotional than I expected her to be. And fucking brutal. Not a bad thing I guess. She'll be a good leader for the Scoi'atel.

9 - The Hansa

Regis - Regis, my beloved ❤️The vampire that captured my heart ❤️❤️❤️Extremely relieved he is not dead!!! Games are canon, you cannot convince me otherwise

Milva - Very cool, unparalleled badass, I would feel very safe with her around, physically but also emotionally because I feel like she's sarcastic but nice and very loyal.

Cahir - On the one hand, it's kind of creepy he's in love with Ciri. On the other hand, he really has grown on me and he's really talented and presumably hot and he becomes really committed to his hansa. His death hit me hard ☹️. In the show: Poorly cast but I'm interested to see where they go with his character.

Angoulême - Kind of annoying, kind of endearing.

10 - Ciri's Allies

Avallac'h - Probably the least terrible elf, like, the only one who wasn't a total bitch to Ciri, and it's kinda cute he was in love with Lara Dorren and Ciri looks kinda like Lara but he knows she's not. Like all Alder elves, a piece of shit, but less of a piece of shit than the rest of them.

Mistle - Really, really not the best start to a relationship with Ciri, but I'm glad they eventually had a good thing going.

The Rats - Yikes, but at least Ciri has friends and people to keep her safe(ish).

11 - The Witchers

Eskel - In the books: He's a total sweetheart and I love him. In the games: He's a total sweetheart and I love him. In the show: He's kind of a dick and he died too soon. He was Geralt's best childhood friend and they kill him off without building up his character first? Terrible writing.

Lambert - Always a dick but reliable, and I will always have fond memories of dressing up in Triss's clothes with him. He's a jerk to Ciri in the show and books, but he's kind of like an older brother - wants the best for her, but he's mean about it.

Coën - Love how he got along with Ciri :) He's also pretty cool in the show.

Vesemir - He had a good role as a father figure for the witchers. In the show, I don't think he would've tried to make more witchers - he was present for and helped assist the creation of new witchers and knew how awful it was, and I don't think he'd want to repeat it.

Other witchers from the show: Nice addition for the intended purposes (giving more of a community feel to Kaer Morhen, and it made the Witcher guild a little less sad). That final fight scene... They were kind of weak, for witchers, but I'll let it go because they're not Geralt.

13 - Thoughts on villains

Leo Bonhart - Truly, I hate him probably more than I hate Ramsay Bolton. I just wanted him to die but he was too damn powerful. Honestly, there was nothing more satisfying than his death.

Vilgefortz - Book Vilgefortz: What a fucking creep! Yikes!!!! TV Vilgefortz: What a hottie!!! Good god!!!!!

Emhyr var Emreis - Kind of surprised the man has a heart? Insanely creepy he planned to marry and impregnate his own daughter but I'm glad he finally let her go and married fake Cirilla instead and even was very considerate towards fake Cirilla at the end.

Eredin - Also a creep, like most villains, but he's kind of a distant villain so I just don't really have many thoughts on him.

Sigismund Djikstra - He's so smart, and so committed to his principles. I like him a lot, even though he works against the main characters sometimes. He's just a well-designed, distinct character overall.

14 - Thoughts on pairings

Geralt/Yennefer - It's destiny, right? Kinda cute how head-over-heels Geralt is for her, and how he fell in love so quickly. And then she fell so hard for him too. Also, both are so strong-willed that they have a pretty non-traditional dynamic and I think that's interesting.

Geralt/Jaskier(Dandelion) - Opposites attract. This one is my favorite. Cute as hell. Geralt is jaded and cynical except... he's fallen for this cheerful, upbeat bard. Jaskier is interested in fame and amusement and women except... he's fallen for this serious warrior who is shunned by society. If the series hadn't started thirty years ago, before the gay era, you know these two would've been fucking in canon.

Yennefer/Jaskier(Dandelion) - lol jk [Update Jan'22: I cannot believe I'm saying this but under the right circumstances, they are a great pairing. Good friendship (eventually). Good sex, presumably. But no romance.]

Geralt/Triss - I guess this was a thing in Witcher 1 and 2 but I don't really see the chemistry. And I don't like how pushy she was in Blood of Elves.

Geralt/Cahir - Enemies to lovers!!! Enemies to lovers!!!!!!!!!!!

Ciri/Anyone - Headcanon that Ciri is not romantically or sexually interested in anyone beyond occasional curiosity.

15 - Thoughts on Specific Stories

Netflix Show: I don't like a lot of the changes that were made - Jaskier and Geralt's relationship (though the conflict gives it greater narrative value), Yennefer's choice to sacrifice Ciri in s2 (though the choice gave her greater narrative value), etc. But I do think it is adapted pretty well for TV.

Books: My favorites probably (besides Witcher 3), though it was at times frustrating to hear about characters I didn't care about when I just wanted to hear about the ones who did interest me. Favorite parts: "A Little Sacrifice;" Geralt going to the sorcerer party in book 2; almost everything with the hansa, especially with Regis.

Games: Witcher 1 & 2 are good but frustrating to move around in because Geralt is slow and it is not completely open-world. Witcher 3 is one of my all-time favorite games, both the gameplay and the story, and I love the role-playing aspect to it and the details and how choices actually have consequences. The Blood and Wine is probably my favorite because Toussaint and Regis are great.
