Anyway I’m posting this here cause I just wanna point out like you know that mannequin who watches over Jax and Pomni?… Well it kind of gives off a Showtime vibe like I could totally re imagine it as an NPC that Caine sent out to watch over Jax and Pomni to make sure that they don’t get too friendly with each other cause Caine is jealous. Also doesn’t this kind of give you all a bit of a Yandere vibe? Like I think this idea could also work for a Showtime fanfic too~ 😏

TADC-EP 5 Doors Lore

Here's some stills and a gif from the scene in the new Episode 5 from The Amazing Digital Circus.

As you can see two doors crossed off of both Kaufmo the clown and a Frog Character from what we believe is that they both Abstracted.

The only one uncrossed is the mannequin figure which is possible the same figure we see and the beginning and end of the episode. This could mean that its not an NCP but an actual person and Cain "cant keep up with who is NCP and who is Player".

Hey yall!

So, I think many of you noticed that mannequin in episode five.

This time, he got significantly more focus. If you look closely, he appears in the background of nearly every episode and is also featured on the official poster.

He even has a name - Dr. Football, and, as it turns out, his own dedicated room.

There are already a few theories surrounding him:

He’s part of the Caine.

There’s a theory that the mannequin is a part of one of the central AIs. In the book “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream”, which inspired The Amazing Digital Circus, the supercomputer AM was created from three separate machines - Chinese, American, and Russian:

“Gorrister began again. “The Cold War started and became World War Three and just kept going. It became a big war, a very complex war, so they needed the computers to handle it. They sank the first shafts and began building AM. There was the Chinese AM and the Russian AM and the Yankee AM and everything was fine until they had honeycombed the entire planet, adding on this element and that element.”

AM also had an avatar - Surgat: something like a servant split off from the main system, existing in both cyberspace and the external world. A demonic being with horns, glowing eyes, and hooves, who called himself “the conscience of AM.”

Despite his menacing appearance, Surgat helped the characters by giving them important clues and guiding them toward their pasts. Like the other NPCs in the game, he helped the captives remember who they were and face their fears.

Now here’s the parallel: in the Circus, we have Caine and Bubble - two AIs. But what if the mannequin is the third? The one we’ve all overlooked.

He might be a part of Caine, but for some reason chose not to act openly like Bubble. Like Surgat, he exists on the edges, observing, not interfering… at least, not yet.

He’s a forgotten NPC.

The second theory is that the mannequin is also an NPC, but an independent one, like Gummigoo.

Maybe he was part of an older “switch” and eventually started hiding. After seeing what happened to Gummigoo, he might have decided that being discovered would lead to the same fate.

It’s possible he’s one of the very first NPCs, left over from the Circus’s earliest days. Caine may have simply forgotten to wipe him during one of the resets, and over time, the mannequin - like Gummigoo, gained self-awareness. Maybe he’s spent all these years watching users and NPCs.

I’m sure he’ll play his role eventually.

Bit of one of the upcoming chapters - probably about 2 or 3 if everything goes according to plan.

Pomni demonstrates her physical abilities (and general high pain tolerance) to the townsfolk in the main saloon. She (and Gummigoo) may or may not be intoxicated, and might be getting more than they bargained for with this little stunt.
