Types of CNM: Polyamory

Polyamory is a broad category can involve a central couple who decide to see other people individually or together in romantic or sexual situations, or it can be an individual person engaged in separate romantic and/or sexual situations. Some vectors could be ongoing relationships, others could be fleeting encounters. Each polyamorous relationship looks different, but there are several recognized subtypes:

Traditional triad/throuple: all partners are in romantic and sexual relationships with each other which includes one-on-one relationships between each person in the group, and the relationship between all three partners.

I have been in the book space for well over a decade, the SJM fandom for just about that time, so believe me when I say I mean what I’m about to type. If you are an American, or even someone abroad, and support Trump or the conservative push in anyway, you are not welcome here. A/N: thank you for the request & cookie! Hopefully this fits what you had in mind. Manorian’s son is Orion :). Ignore my very creative title

You supposed it was a “long time coming,” but it still felt quick. One day, you were kissing your best friend and the next you were entangled in each others arms, perched on a rock in your favorite forest clearing in Perranth. 

Emelyn, your nosy older sister, always knew and did her best to cover for you. Why were you hiding again? Right - he was terrified of your father, as any sane man would be. Granted, you were terrified of his mother, well she’s adored - as much as a witch can - you as a child, but dating her son was a bit … different. Orion, the second son of the King of Adarlan. 

But, with the beautiful man next to you, it was easy to ignore the feeling that your luck was about to run out, that you’d be caught sooner rather than later.

“I missed you,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to your hair.

“We saw each other last week,” you elbowed his side. You’d missed him too, dearly, but like your father affection didn’t quite come naturally. “I still think we should run away together,” you teased. 

“The hell you are,” your father’s voice filled the clearing, you didn’t need to look to know his jaw was clenched, eyes murderous. 

Panicked, you didn’t first thing you thought of and shoved Orion off the rock. 

A loud oof, a satisfied grunt, and your yelp. Hands shoving down cold stone, dress catching on the various crevices, you tumbled next to him. Inches from the ground, you knew it would hurt and squeezed your eyes shut. Twin tendrils of magic caught you, one the black of death, the other magic in its purest and rawest form. Orion had received no such courtesy from your father, and you weren’t surprised.

The magic gently lowered you to the ground and you flopped on your back, staring up at the sky and avoiding everyone around you. Gods, this was mortifying. 

Orion, next to you, was laughing - bent in half.

“I’m going to kill you,” you muttered half heartedly. 

“You already tried,” he countered. 

From the corner of your eye, you saw Emelyn burst into the clearing, her girlfriend - Rowan and Aelin’s daughter - hot on her heels. The duo were inseparable. 

She shot you an apologetic look. 

“Well,” her girlfriend said. “Cats out of the bag - when’s dinner?”

I’ve been rereading the complete TOG series since October and I’m on my favorite (Empire of Storms)…just overcome with how gorgeous this world and its characters are.

Im rooting for every single couple, I’m immersed in the world; even without Rowaelin I would adore TOG. It just happens to also have the best fantasy romance couple of all time.

Thoughts about Kingdom of Ash 💫

I finally finished throne of glass yesterday, and I’m sharing some thoughts on my experience. (“Finally” is super subjective… it took me maybe 3 weeks to slam through them all 💀)

****general spoilers ahead!!****

Yrene and Chaol were my favorite couple.. they were super fleshed out and seemed super realistic. I personally didn’t really connect a lot wirh RowAelin, but that has more to do with me than with them I think lmao. I’m just personally more a fan of an alpha male hahahaha

This isn’t a criticism more of a wish, but I’m soooo depressed Elide and Lorcan weren’t fleshed out more!! They deserve the world

Dorian is (again, in my opinion) the MOST INTERESTING CHARACTER! His growth? Unmatched. I feel he has the most realistic character arc, I felt like if I went back today answer read it would break my heart with his growth into this jaded man. Ugh. His relationship with his father? How he killed his father? How his father found him and Aelin? Heartbreaking. His brotherhood with Chaol? So realistic. Manon? His shape shifting? Sorry he’s literally unmatched.

Manon. Fucking. BLACKBEAK!!! Oh my god I rarely cry at books and the only time I cried at this series was the Thirteen’s sacrifice. She’s so complex ugh I want more…..

One more thing about Elide and Lorcan- I honestly really appreciated SJM’s decision to not “give Elide immortality” to be with Lorcan, so much we see the non-immortal become immortal to be with the immortal. I feel like it made them so much more realistic, that Lorcan would rather live her mortal lifespan and make the most of it. It just broke my heart in the best way!

I know I’m gonna get hate for this, but I didn’t read Assassins blade (gasp). I know I know, but I got through Queen of Shadows and got greedy and didn’t wanna go back in time 💀💀. I do regret it though, maybe my next read through I’ll read it. I felt like there was a fair bit of characters that I basically met in Empire of Storms that I knew I shoulda met before, you could tell with the language that SJM uses. My fault. I feel bad.

Do. The. Tandem. Read. Nuff said.

Overall my hangover is gonna be insane. It already is insane. I think I may read Icebreaker next just to break up my epic fantasy… and then maybe Twilight? Or I also wanna crack into Divine Rivals but I think I need some spice after all this war 💀.
