Today’s The Outsiders Musical Opinion™️ is that Randy’s role is not only split between Paul & Cherry but also a little bit with Marcia
(Randy’s whole thing re: the conflict is that he’s disillusioned and starts to realize how pointless it is, and obv that & the car conversation turn into Hopeless War from Cherry, but notably unlike Cherry he doesn’t do anything to actually help the greasers. Yes he testifies for them at the trial but that’s more of a wrapping up of loose ends, that’s not framed as being about class the way the rumble is, where Cherry actively crosses lines to help out the greasers. Similarly, Marcia, to my knowledge, visibly does not approve of Two-Bit’s jumping in Justice for Tulsa and is not rah rah anti greaser pro Soc, and yet she still sings the lyrics: she cannot bring herself to speak out for them. She doesn’t approve of the situation but that doesn’t manifest in any of her lines, just like how Randy only expresses his new worldview to Ponyboy. And yeah that’s not the same as Marcia saying Nothing but can you imagine if we stopped the plot to have a random Marcia-Ponyboy 1:1 conversation. That would suck. Also, a lot of Randy is how he’s torn between what he thinks is right and the crowd; he is conflicted and doesn’t know what he should do. This similarity can again be found in Marcia being torn between her disapproval for the extremes to which the greaser-hunt has gone and her inability to speak out and try to put a stop to it)

Genuinely one of my favorite scenes in succession is when Caroline brings Kerry and Sally Anne to the front row at Logans funeral. They sit together as equals, as Logans former lovers, whether by marriage or infidelity. They all loved him and grieve for him. and he loved them all back in his own way i suppose. And when Marcia sees Kerry cry she finally sees her as a woman who loved Logan, and who is heartbroken and was lied to just like the rest of them, and offers her hand in support. Logan did so much to tear people apart and Caroline brings them all together in one of the very few scenes in the series that love and compassion is shown for the sake of love and compassion and not for ulterior motives or personal gain

Reverse au (socs and greasers reversed)
Cherry- greaser girl with a single father who’s pretty busy but cherishes her a lot. She’s able to befriend most people, but she gets harassed a lot because… she’s a girl. She kind of take pony’s role
Bob- greaser whose parents both work a lot, so they aren’t there for him to give him attention, so he’s an adrenaline junkie as well as an alcoholic. He works at the DX and is always drag racing people
Randy- greaser whose parents are way too strict. He’s got younger siblings and a job, his parents are always pressuring him to do more. He works at the DX with Bob and is usually the one to pull him away from fights (greaser Randy is less of a follower because he knows Bob is in more danger if he lets Bob do whatever)
Marcia- her parents both work as well, but her mom is around more. Her mom is kind of doped up and isn’t there for her. Her dad used to hurt her but ever since Cherrys dad let her stay at their house, she barely goes home and it’s stopped ever since Marcia got taller (aka able to defend herself better) she is dating Randy but honestly he’s just her friend. She feels bad about it.
Paul: Cherrys cousin on her mom’s side. He takes Darry’s role and is very protective of her as well. He wanted to go to college, but can’t obviously. He’s the leader of their gang, but he feels like he’s somehow betraying them by being in love with Darry. He’s Paul still, so he’s kind of arrogant and assumes he knows more than other people. He’s obsessed with “shortcuts” and “work smarter not harder” and often gets in trouble for this
Darry- Sox who is currently in college. He isn’t around a lot even though his parents are dead (soda and pony are left with a nanny who comes around three times a week to check on them and report to Darry. Darry also calls every day to check on them) he’s a likeable guy but he is still in love with Paul. He has romps with Tim sometimes but he’s very conflicted. He does LIKE Tim but Tim is far from Paul m. It doesn’t help that twobit gets wrapped up in this sometimes too. Darry’s head is about to split open sometimes.
Soda- Soc who didn’t drop out, but he’s still failing all his classes. This upsets Darry a lot, but soda could care less. He’s very popular and throws parties a lot, which makes Darry very upset. Soda doesn’t think college is important, but he also knows that he doesn’t get a choice and no matter how bad he does, he’s going to end up there. So he doesn’t try too hard and just has fun.
Pony- soc who is a smart cookie. Basically the same tbh, perhaps a bit less traumatized from the basic environment. He loves talking to greasers because Darry said not to.
Johnny- Sox who is still abused, it’s just hidden now. His parents actually care about public perception so they act like a loving family in public and at events. They both tell Johnny he sucks and isn’t good enough to be their only son. Johnny takes this to heart a lot and it makes him try harder at school (but it stresses him out so he does worse)
Dally- soc whose dad is a big time lawyer who doesn’t act like a father. Dally is left to run wild and jump greasers (he also gets with greaser girls sometimes because he’s not supposed to sully soc girls) dally is failing most of his classes but somehow gets a’s every semester (his dad pays the school) he’s besties with tim and they jump greasers together. They don’t have the same relationship as they do as greasers because i think it’s less acceptable for civilized boys to beat each other up like that. Instead they both were in the boxing team in highschool and made sure to stay in the same weight class lmfao
Steve- soc with absent single father, Steve has a car hobby. He’s got two cars and they’re both super expensive. The cars are his babies and his dad pays him a lot more when he upsets Steve now. Steve has one super nice car he drives his friends around in and one that he keeps in the garage and obsesses over. He likes to jump greasers but not with soda because sometimes soda feels bad about it 💔
Twobit- soc, his dad didn’t leave, he’s just always on business trips. His mother is a socialite who is always bragging about him, even if there’s nothing to brag about. He’s an alcoholic whose parents paid for him to not have to retake junior year. Despite this, he’s a fun guy and everyone likes him, even greasers. He’s very non discriminatory (and is lowkey in love with Darry) He helps his buddies if they get jumped but he won’t jump a greaser unless he has a reason (like a vendetta against one specific greaser who keeps exchanging eyes with Darry)
Tim- stepdad is also on business trips a lot, his mother is classy old money. His family has ties to the Italian mafia on his mother’s side. Tim (like Paul in the series) didn’t go to college and instead works for his father’s company and is already making a shit ton of money at 18. He likes to scare greaser girls and children. Sometimes he revs his engine super loud around greaser girls to make them shriek. He likes darry and romps around with him but he’s aware of the way Darry looks at Paul. He HATES Paul and tries to hit him with his car sometimes
Angela- most popular girl in school. She ruins relationships and makes girls insecure. She shoves cherry and Marcia around sometimes and bullies them in the locker room. She doesn’t actually have anything against them, she just has a lot of built up frustration inside. She’s still awful to them. She tried to steal Bob 😭 but he didn’t gaf about her and she got embarrassed
Curly- He’s always getting arrested but somehow has no criminal record. He likes to jump people ofc because he’s curly but nobody takes him seriously because he always jumps weak people. He knows he isn’t that scary. He struggles in school and his mom threatens to send him to boarding school when he pisses her off (this sets his straight for two days before he’s back on his bs)
Evie- pretty soc girl that is always wearing the newest and most expensive clothing. Incredibly spoiled but not a total jerk
Sylvia- soc girl that’s always with a new guy, usually bounces between Tim and dally. Her focus in this au is more along the lines of picking the best husband because her parents have basically groomed her into a trophy wife position
Buck- daddy’s boy. Very spoiled. His father runs a successful beer company and Buck holds an important position there. He’s Sylvia’s cousin like always and is trying to keep Dallas and Tim AWAY
Sandy- Soc girl that is incredibly eager to become a mother. She’s a typical “good Christian girl” and gen believes this is the best she can do

When the gang (+ shepards) is all grown up and they're all adults, what do you think they do with their lives? Like what jobs do they have, do they get married, have kids, do they move, go to college, are they successful, all that stuff y'know??
(If u wanna can u include Johnny and Dally, too)
TJQNK YOU🫡🫡
ok ok so I wound up writing a lot for this lol- also categorized them based on if they’re “people who stay or people who go” because that quote change my whole worldview 🥲
Darry- Probably continues on with the construction work till Pony’s done with college and financially stable. After that he might get convinced to take a few community college courses, though it’d have to take a good amount of convincing.
If we’re just spitballin’ here, I could even see him studying law and becoming an attorney or something at the age of forty-something (maybe forty-two if we wanna call back to the Curtis parents). Not a real glamorous rich type or anything, but a public defender- so that kids in the East Side don’t end up having to run away like Johnny had to, and families in situations like his don’t get split. Stuff like that. It’s a little bit fantastical, but yk- this is fiction right?
Would prob get married/have kids, but not many. Probably just one.
stayer or goer: a goer who had to stay
Soda- Goes to Vietnam, either drafted or enlisted. Leaves the war with a lotta disillusionment with the American military and a lot of his ideals in shreds. Moves to a small town just outside of Tulsa after this, where he works at a ranch (Kencaide Quarter Horses wink wink-). There, he coaches kids and sometimes runs a horse summer camp- it may not be the major-league big-time rodeo star job he dreamed of as a kid, but those kids being blown away by his skills makes him feel like a champion anyhow :)
Lives with Evie and Steve. Would’ve like having kids but is also happy without. Quasi-adopts Tex McCormick lol.
stayer or goer: a stayer who went and shouldn’t have
Ponyboy- Publishes “The Outsiders” under the name “PM Curtis” while Soda’s in Vietnam, to moderate success initially- but then it starts being used in schools and becomes a renowned classic. He continues writing, and although none of his other books gain the same massive following, they’re critically acclaimed and cult classics.
In the 80s he peels away from books for a while and starts writing screenplays for shows/films that’re so silly and comedic that no one would guess they’re written by the author of “The Outsiders”- he’s lived a hard life, he wants to write things that aren’t depressing.
When the internet becomes a thing, Pony reads Outsiders fanfiction out loud to Steve at every holiday gathering
Probably marries a girl he meets in college (I’m picturing Elaine from The Graduate lol). Might have kids. Idk. Probably has a few pets.
stayer or goer: goer. but he’ll always be home when he’s needed.
Steve- Goes to college while Soda’s in ‘Nam. (I’ve also written a Steve that goes w/ Soda, but I’m sorta done w/ that for now lol I wanna try smth else) He goes to business school with the intention of opening a car dealership, and while he’s in school, he bartends on the side. (It just doesn’t feel good working at a mechanic’s shop without Soda.)
He never really ends up starting that dealership though, and instead ends up buying a scrapyard outside of Tulsa. He gets first dibs on the best pieces. And he runs a garage there where folks rent space to work on hot rods, too.
Living situation is same as Soda’s lol
stayer or goer: trick, he’s neither. His home’s where Soda is, so as long as he’s with him, he’s happy.
Two-Bit- Bounces between jobs until he can’t anymore. Ends up getting a good gig MC-ing a Tulsa radio station. (If he were in the modern world he’d have a podcast lol.) This works because Marcia’s a journalist, so they get to work in the same broadcasting center downtown :))
Dates Marcia while she’s in college, but they split because he’s irresponsible and hasn’t grown up while Marcia has. Has a few flings and bad relationships, eventually ends up happily with Marcia once they’ve both been married and divorced to other people. They both have kids from prior relationships, and Two’s kids love Marcia because she provides structure they didn’t have before, while Marcia’s kids love Two-Bit because he’s good fun and really good at understanding.
stayer or goer: stayer
Johnny- Woulda liked being a race car driver, unrealistic as he knows it is. Realistically would’ve bartended Buck’s if he’d grown up.
I dunno if he’d get married but I could definitely see him in a happy long term relationship. I don’t think he’d be a great parent though- he’d try, but his quiet-ness comes off as coldness to kids which isn’t great from your father, yk? And generally I don’t think he’d particularly want to, but idk
stayer or goer: stayer. Even if he had gone on the run, moving from place to place, he wouldn’t have been happy.
Dally- Woulda bartended Buck’s with Johnny, and kept jockeying. And prob dealing drugs.
Would not get married. Cannot maintain a healthy relationship. Probably has multiple bastard children. But hey, he’s got Buck’s horses and Johnny at his side, what else could he possibly need lol?
stayer or goer- wants to think he’s a goer. But he isn’t. C’mon man his whole thing’s loyalty- just because he can get up and leave when he wants doesn’t mean he’d benefit from it.
Tim- Probably in jail ngl. If not that, then working odd-jobs and wandering ‘round- Dean Moriarty sorta vibe minus the writing/influence lol. After gangs sorta go away, like Pony said, Tim grows up into an old hood. He likely dies fairly young. idk if he’s a stayer or goer. Maybe a stayer who went.
Curly- Gets drafted into Vietnam. After his tour, he gets his GED and moves just out of Tulsa, where he manages a warehouse. Doesn’t get married but has a couple flings.
(I’ve recently been writing a version of him that has a little sister for my Tex story, and in that, he steps up and becomes her guardian. He’s not that great. But yk. He’s trying. Soda still lowkey hates him.)
stayer or goer: stayer
Angela- Yk how at the end of TWTTIN she gets hitched w/ some rando? Well I’ve decided she divorces him because I feel bad for her lol.
In the Dally-Mark-&-Tex AU, she winds up dating Mark to get back at Bryon. This doesn’t do anything because Bryon legit doesn’t give a fuck atp. But they end up getting pretty close- they’ve got a lot in common honestly. Maybe not romantically close, but…something. They’re awful and messy and they work because no one else in the world deserved to be subjected to them lol. (Also this has given me so many ideas for Mark&Angela friendship stuff that I wanna write SO BAD but like also…it’s such a niche would anyone even read that??) (I would. Maybe I gotta just do it for me lol.)
stayer or goer: goer. I think she ends up in a dead end costal town in California. I just like the vibe of that idk.

ELABORATE ON ANY OF UR CHETSODA THOUGHTS I BEGGGG.
this is such a diabolical ship outside the context of my fic LMAO but i tried my best 🫡 they are my 2 favourite sillies and i'm in love with them both ANYWAY
chet and soda who couldn't stop themselves from laughing at each other's jokes in class, even though they'd never talk to each other in the hallways because chet's a soc, and soda's a greaser
chet who didn't understand why he was genuinely upset when he heard soda dropped out of school, and assumed it was because there'd be more pressure on him to be the class clown
chet who heard about mr & mrs curtis from marcia
chet who stayed silent when some of the socs started to make jokes about soda being dumb and flunking out
chet who went to get a drink at the drive-in one night, and bumped into sodapop curtis and his little brother
chet who smiled and said 'hi', and then paid for soda and pony's snacks
soda who went home and stayed awake all night trying to figure out why a soc willingly helped him out when he was a few cents short
chet who gave brill directions to the dx when brill's car started spouting smoke
soda who felt his heart start racing when chet came inside and asked for help with brill's car
chet who told his friends he was spending the night at home, but was actually taking soda to the diner to say 'thank you'
soda who insisted they split a milkshake because he felt too guilty to let chet cover the bill if he ordered anything else
chet who drove soda home, and didn't say anything about the size of his house when soda offered for him to stay over
chet and soda who argued over who should take soda's bed and who should get the couch, but it didn't matter anyway, because soda ended up climbing into the bed with him in the middle of the night
chet and soda who didn't say anything when they woke up with their arms wrapped around each other

CURSED AU SEXUALITIES/RELATIONSHIPS!
..Because I want to clarify some stuff really quick! This may just be a bit of me thinking a bit too hard about when I said this-
Tumblr media
-but I feel it's also good to just give a little heads up on what can be looked into as a romantic pairing and what can't, especially since Cursed is a VERY Found Family heavy AU, and we writers have our own opinions on certain ships.
*The writer's server is kind of dead, as everyone got busy and Cursed left our focus, so I'm going off of our previous opinions.
SEXUALITIES
Darry is gay
Soda is bisexual
Ponyboy doesn't label
Johnny doesn't label
Steve is bisexual
Two-Bit doesn't label
Ace is a lesbian
Dally is aroace (he mistakes zero attraction for all attraction sometimes)
Paul is gay
Marcia is straight
Cherry is bisexual
RELATIONSHIPS (ROMANTIC)
Darry and Paul are together
Cherry and Ace are together
Two-Bit and Marcia can be perceived as either romantic or platonic; it is fully up to interpretation, but they are very close.
Steve, Soda, and Evie are together
Ace and Bev USED to be in a quiet relationship, but after Two's jumping Ace broke that shit off hard.
RELATIONSHIPS (PLATONIC)
Johnny and Ponyboy are written as queerplatonic
Two-Bit, Dally, and Ace have a familial relationship (ergo, do not ship them with each other)
Ace and Steve are familial
Tim Shepard and Dally have something going on but nobody can tell what the fuck it is, just know it's not romantic.
OVERALL + HARD NO'S
You are more than welcome to ship the characters who are not written as family, as long as you keep in mind ages, sexualities, and understand that they won't necessarily be written about in canon.
Fuck around with the crackships if you want as long as they abide by that too. Pid-Bit fans and CherryCoke fans, I see you. Sandy x Sylvia is also one you can mess with but I don't know how you'd plan for that one
You're welcome to split up canon pairs for shipping purposes as well as long as you keep in mind the 'not canon' thing. Darbit is a ship the writers have talked about, and funnily enough, so is Darry x Paul x Two (we have an explanation, it makes sense, trust)
Purly is fine, Novva likes that one.
Ships such as Jally, Dal-Bit, etc etc are a hard no. The writers aren't fond of those, and for obvious reasons.

The Asthma Attack Stevepop was absolutely amazing!!! Also, hahaa, I made the request because you started posting Asthma Sodapop things,
Is there anything with Two-Bit and Marcia that you would want to write? (Any Headcanons for Two-Bit or Marcia that's similar in nature to being sick or hurting or something happening and the other being able to help?)
Sorry, I don't know if this makes much sense,
- 🍀
my mind decided to wander a little (a lot) with this one💗 i wrote this chetcherrycola fic not too long ago and hinted at marbit in it and then this request came in like two days later sooooo i had no choice ;)
cw: they end up in the bath together and marcia washes two-bit’s hair, nothing sexual but it’s definitely intimate, perhaps not entirely sfw
hope this is okay🩷
Tumblr media
her heart was pounding heavily in her chest as she hurried home from cherry’s house, umbrella open and her jacket fastened tightly around her. she could feel the rain seeping into her new suede shoes, her parents would probably kill her if they noticed…
“did soda make it to cherry’s?” a voice asked, and she already knew whose it was.
marcia saw his silhouette slouched on her front steps before she saw his face, and yet there was still that sick feeling in her stomach telling her that something was wrong. it only got worse as she got closer and finally saw how much of a mess he was.
“oh my god,” she sprinted forward, her kitten heels almost falling off as she ran. “oh, sweetheart…”
two-bit looked up at her, and it felt like a lead weight had dropped into her stomach. he was soaked to the bone, his curly hair plastered to his forehead. it seemed like his entire body was littered with bruises, his face covered in blood and one of his eyes was swollen shut.
“i…” he winced, but cut himself off as the split in his lip tightened and she hurried forward, making sure he was fully covered by the awning as her cold fingers fiddled with her house keys.
“shh,” she hushed him, a hand grazing over his cheek as she unlocked the front door. “here, get inside.”
he pushed himself off the stairs and onto his feet with a sharp gasp, limping through the door and stopping on the doormat. he started to wipe his boots off as marcia kicked off her shoes and hurried further inside to the bathroom, coming back with a couple of towels. she wrapped one of them around his shoulders, using another to start drying his curls and wiping away some of the blood splattered across his face.
“what happened?” she asked, trying her best to be gentle with him as she guided him over to sit on the stairs. “it was just a rumble… you’ve never been this roughed up before…”
his big brown doe eyes gazed up at her and blinked sadly, “they found us… me ‘n soda… he managed to get them off pretty fast but they…”
he winced, and she sat down on the stair just above him, rubbing his back and running her hand along his sleeve of tattoos. he sucked his teeth for a moment before stuttering out, “they had me pinned down. you can’t wear rings in a rumble… but apparently you can when you’re jumping someone after.”
marcia felt sick to her stomach, so much that she couldn’t speak for a few moments, but she still asked slowly, “it was trip… wasn’t it?”
he grimaced and looked away before nodding slightly. marcia felt tears in her eyes, she felt guilty, heartbroken, angry, and none of it could help him.
“i’m sorry,” she gasped, tenderly pulling him into her arms, his head resting in her lap. “i’m so sorry…”
he shrugged, “that’s just life around here, i’ll be okay.”
she gasped out something that could have been a laugh if she wasn’t so devastated, “it shouldn’t have to be! you don’t deserve any of this mess… just because i broke up with him doesn’t make it your problem!”
he lifted his head and looked up at her, “look at me, babydoll.”
she blinked out a couple of tears, but didn’t dare look down at him. he reached up and gently grabbed her cheek, slowly turning her head to look him in the eyes.
“i’m okay.”
he pushed himself up gingerly and pressed a sweet kiss to her lips. she huffed, a few more tears sliding down her cheeks, and he stuck his tongue out playfully.
she let a smile break through, giggling softly and kissing him again, “can i get you anything, honey? some frozen peas? do you want to shower?”
two-bit shrugged, “i’m just a little cut up, baby, just some stuff that won’t feel too good in the morning.”
marcia mulled it over for a moment, running the towel over his wet hair while she thought.
finally, she perked up, “how about i run you a hot bath and throw these clothes in the wash? my parents will be gone until tuesday, you can stay here tonight.”
he smiled up at her and nodded.
“okay,” she blushed, pushing herself off the stairs and hurrying up to start running a bath for him.
she let the water run and warm up for a few minutes before she shutting the drain, pouring in some sweet smelling bubble bath, and turning back around to dry her hands off. two-bit was watching her fondly, leaning against the doorway.
marcia blushed under his gaze, “c’mon, you’re gonna get sick if you stay in those wet clothes.”
she ushered him back to her bedroom, grabbing another towel from the bathroom and following him back to her bedroom. he started to strip off his overalls as she began to sift through one of her dresser drawers, producing a t-shirt and flannel pants that he’d left there ages ago.
she giggled as she tossed them onto the bed, “you may as well have your own drawer now.”
“your dad would probably have a heart attack,” two-bit laughed, slowly pulling off his shirt, careful not to hit any of the cuts on his face.
he finished taking off the rest of his clothes and tied the towel around his waist, heading over to the bathroom.
“go ahead and get started, i’ll be right there,” she waved to him as he looked back curiously.
marcia leaned up against the dresser for a minute and took a couple of steadying breaths before she started to pull off her dress and cardigan and threw them into the laundry basket. she reached for a set of pajamas from the open drawer, but thought better of getting them wet and instead pulled off the rest of her clothes and grabbed the bathrobe hanging by her door.
when she pushed the bathroom door open, two-bit was up to his neck in the hot water and bubbles, his eyes closed and his head leaned back against the ceramic lip of the tub. she pulled the step stool in the corner over to sit by his head. she brushed back some of his hair and he opened his eyes, or at least as much as he could from how swollen one of them was.
“you okay?” she asked him gently, her thumb running over a small cut next to his eye. he nodded slowly, and she bit the inside of her cheek for a moment, “can i start cleaning these up? i don’t want anything to get infected.”
“you sure the bath won’t clean ‘em up alright for me?” he smiled, but marcia still stood up and grabbed the first aid kit from the medicine cabinet.
“did soda make it back to cherry’s? and chet? ah-” he winced as she started to clean his split lip with a piece of gauze.
“i think so,” she grabbed some more antiseptic and sprayed down the gauze as she folded it. “chet got there first… told me he saw you on your way over here.”
“but what about soda?” he asked again.
marcia sighed, “he’s okay, i didn’t see him, but he was right behind chet.”
“you don’t know, then,” two-bit readjusted in the bath, as if he was about to march over to cherry’s then and there.
“yes, i do,” marcia smiled, laying a gentle hand on his shoulder and guiding him back down. “if something was wrong, cherry would have called. he’s fine, baby.”
he sunk back down, low enough to where he could blow bubbles in the water, and marcia giggled loudly. he pushed himself up and smiled knowingly over at her.
she realized what he wanted and her eyebrows shot up, “no, you’re all banged up, i don’t want to hurt you, and now is not the time for that.”
he gave her another goofy smile, “we don’t have to do that, is it so bad that i wanna hold you?”
marcia sighed heavily and he smirked, “you don’t have anything on under that robe, baby.”
she knew he was going to win, she wasn’t upset about it, just that he was right. she was trying hard not to smile, but she could tell it wasn’t working.
“c’mere,” he held out a hand and she rolled her eyes, slowly untying the robe and letting it fall to the ground. he gave her a small giggle as she stepped into the water and sat down opposite him.
he playfully splashed her, and she gasped, “two! i don’t wanna get my hair wet!”
two-bit rolled his eyes and grabbed at her ankles, pulling her down. her hands slipped out from under her and she fell in up to her eyes in the bubbles. she popped back up quickly, her mouth hanging open in an incredulous smile.
“oh, you absolute menace,” she pushed herself up and fell forward so that their chests were flush together.
he pressed a quick kiss to her lips, barely concealing his look of glee, “you love me.”
“aren’t you lucky…” she laid her head down against his shoulder, pressing a kiss to his collarbone.
they lay together, two-bit turning on the tap to let the warm water run whenever the water started to cool down. two-bit traced patterns on marcia’s back and over her sides, occasionally jabbing at tender spots and earning soft giggles.
eventually, she sat up, tapping his shoulder gently, “c’mon, let me wash that hair of yours.”
two-bit sat up slightly and tilted his head back to get the rest of his hair wet as she poured out some of her shampoo into her hands.
“so… did you win?” she asked gingerly as she started massaging the shampoo through his curls.
“hm?” he hummed, glancing up at her.
“the rumble,” she amended. “did you guys win?”
two-bit shrugged, some suds falling from his head and onto his shoulders, “i don’t think anyone wins at a rumble anymore, babydoll.”
marcia hummed, gently tipping his head back with her index finger to give him the go-ahead to rinse out the shampoo. when he popped back up, she had conditioner at the ready and began giving him the same treatment.
“unless you wanted to know if i kicked ass,” he grinned goofily around her hands. “in which case, of course i did.”
she laughed, pressing a quick kiss to his lips and resting their foreheads together.
he fiddled with the ends of her hair, which were finally drying, “can’t i wash your hair, too, pretty girl?”
she smoothed his hair back and kissed his forehead sweetly, “today’s not wash day, check back in on sunday and we’ll talk. i think it’s time we get you in bed, sweetheart, you’re exhausted.”
he chuckled lightly, “molly’s gonna kill me for not comin’ home…”
“you can call her,” marcia reassured him. “now rinse out that conditioner, i want to go to bed.“
he dipped his head back and she carded her fingers through his hair, making sure all of the product was rinsed before guiding him back up and pulling the stopper out of the tub. marcia stood up and grabbed a towel, drying off as much as she could before wrapping it around herself and stepping out of the tub. she grabbed another towel and turned around to hand it to two-bit as he slowly pushed himself to his feet, the soreness from the fight still deep in his bones.
she ushered him back to her bedroom, closing the door behind them even though she knew they would be alone. she slipped on a fresh set of pajamas as two-bit pulled on the clothes they had set out on the dresser. marcia fell into bed with two-bit ready to follow suit, her collection of blankets and pillows like a balm after the commotion of the rumble, and all that came after it.
“you should call molly,” she sat up, half blocking his side of the bed with her arm. “she’s not gonna sleep until she knows you’re alright. just tell her you’re here and that you’re okay.”
two-bit rolled his eyes but didn’t wait for her to tell him again to hurry down the hallway to where he knew the phone was. he called back to her, “i’m gonna grab those frozen peas from the freezer!”
“okay!” marcia peeled back the covers on his side of the bed and fluffed up the pillows while he was gone, snuggling down into her own blankets.
two-bit popped back into the room a few minutes later, his smile firmly back in place and the bag of peas from marcia’s freezer pressed against his shoulder.
“you talk to her?” she asked gently as he crawled in next to her.
he nodded, readjusting the bag as he laid down, “yeah, she’s at soda’s with darry and pony, mama’s gonna pick her up in the morning.”
marcia nodded, scooting closer under the covers. he looked over at her, silently asking permission, before plastering himself to her side. she could tell he was hitting a brick wall of exhaustion now that he’d burned through the adrenaline high.
she brushed some of his damp curls back, twisting one around her finger, “can i get you anything? water, aspirin?”
he shook his head, his cheek pressed against her collarbone, “mmm, no, i just wanna sleep.”
she smiled and kissed his head sweetly, “i think we can do that.”

when two-bit and marcia get together, two and cherry hang out to come up with a schedule (that they call their “split custody arrangement”) to make sure marcia has time for both of them.
one day marcia is trying to study and two complains that it’s boring and they should do something else. marcia says she has to study so if it’s soooo boring to watch her study, she’ll just go to cherry’s and study there. two-bit immediately protests, saying it’s his turn on the schedule for marcia hang outs
(marcia ends up inviting cherry over to wherever they are so that marcia can have a study buddy while two still gets in his marcia time)

Curtains Up | Chapter 1
Title: Curtains Up Summary: 'All of the pieces of the puzzle were there; now they had to turn their rough draft of their concept – a popular show with an all-female cast and crew – into something fit for a Broadway stage, and they had about a month to do it.' And once the show opens? No one could predict what happens next, but everyone is along for the ride, whether they like it or not. Word Count: 2614 Relationship(s): Lydori (Lydia B. Kollins/Kori King), Jankie (Jan Sport/Jackie Cox), Rosnali (Rosé/Denali Foxx), Anarcia (Anetra/Marcia Marcia Marcia), Jewelzie (Jewels Sparkles/Suzie Toot) Jasya (Daya Betty/Jasmine Kennedie) Rating: T Chapter Summary: In fair Manhattan where we lay our scene... It's day one of rehearsals, where we meet the main players in this story, and get a peek into what the future may hold for them.
Read on AO3
“Okay, Kori,” Lydia prompted, walking backward down an empty hallway as she filmed her girlfriend, “where are we, and what are we doing?”
Kori laughed softly, trying to split her focus between answering the question and making sure Lydia didn’t walk into anything. “We are in the studio for the first rehearsal with the full cast and crew, get into it.” She stopped in front of the door to the room they would be using and tapped on the sign. “Call time is at nine, it’s currently 8:45, so let’s see when everyone actually shows up.” She looked at the sheet and chuckled. “Of course, our stage manager, Jackie, got here five minutes ago.”
The two of them entered the room, the center empty with tables and chairs pushed off to the sides. There were sections for wardrobe and tech, but most things were in boxes, and Jackie was standing beside a stack of them, scribbling on her clipboard and muttering to herself with the occasional nod of approval. She looked up, startled when she realized the phone was pointed at her. “You’re starting that already?”
“I take my job very seriously, Jackie,” she replied. While the social media manager position wasn’t critical to the show itself, it was essential for establishing its presence in the social consciousness, which would hopefully reflect in ticket sales. Lydia wasn’t hired to work with her, but everyone had developed a fondness for the unofficial assistant manager, and the two quickly became a package deal.
The door opened moments later, and the lead actress, Marcia, walked in with her roommate and understudy (and overall swing), Jan. “8:49,” Kori noted, writing it down so she could edit it later.
8:51 - Rosé and Onya arrive one after another. Two minutes later, they were joined by the choreographer, Denali.
8:55 - Suzie opens the door for Anetra, carrying in her tech equipment with help from Daya.
9:00: Lana and Jewels arrive. Like Jan and Marcia, the pair shared an apartment and made the commute together.
9:02 - Symone was late for the first time, but she brought donuts, so she got a pass.
9:05 - Lexi runs in frantically, desperate to not be the last person to sign in. Being the last cast member bothers her, but she will be over it by lunch.
9:12 - Jasmine thought rehearsals started tomorrow. She is very sorry.
Once all of the cast and crew were signed in and ready, rehearsals went underway. At this stage of development, lines had been learned, songs had been scored. All of the pieces of the puzzle were there; now they had to turn their rough draft of their concept – a popular show with an all-female cast and crew – into something fit for a Broadway stage, and they had about a month to do it.
When it came time for the first break, everyone dispersed into their groups. Denali was the first to step outside for a smoke break, with Daya following soon after, the latter in a notably worse mood. “Got a light?”
“Here,” Denali passed her lighter over, her brows then knitting together. “It’s a little early into the game to look like you’re about to punch a hole in the wall. You wanna talk about it?”
Daya shrugged as she took a hit off her joint, exhaling deeply. “Nothing out of the ordinary. Jasmine’s just getting on my last nerve. The whole ditzy blonde might be cute to some people, but it’s like she just uses it as a cop-out whenever she fucks something up. Twenty-five years old is too old to be pulling that shit if you ask me.” After her lament, she added, “This is my first role on this level; I can’t afford to have any distractions.”
“She can be a lot,” she conceded, “I don’t think she’s doing it on purpose, though, just kinda scatterbrained. Probably has ADHD or something. I get where you’re coming from, but it seems like a ‘mind over matter’ type of thing.”
“That’s the only reason why I try not to be a bitch to her face. That and, like, team morale or whatever,” she mused with a dry laugh, taking another hit before her expression softened. “What about you, though? I can’t imagine working with your ex is all that fun.”
Denali shrugged. “I’m cool, but I guess it’s easier being the one who chose to end the relationship. Don’t get me wrong, Symone is an amazing person… It was just that our plans for the future didn’t align.” She felt an ache in her chest, a mix of guilt and sadness. “I think it’s best to just keep things as professional as possible for the time being.”
Daya leaned over the railing, staring out at the city before looking over at her. “I guess we could both stand to compartmentalize our feelings for the sake of the show.”
“Oh, so we’re using SAT words now?” She chuckled. “You’re right. At least it was a clean break. I heard Anetra’s divorce is still messy, her ex is doing everything she can to drag it out.”
“I guess crazy exes come in the lesbian variety, too.”
Denali chuckled and shook her head. “Honey, you don’t know the half of it. I’m pretty sure Symone is my only mentally stable ex.”
“That’s concerning, Denali.”
She shrugged. “It is what it is.”
Jackie’s eyes scanned the expanse of the studio, making small notes and observations of everyone who came into her field of vision. Then there was Jan. Her gaze always went back to Jan, with her sun-lightened hair and warm brown eyes, her inviting smile, and infectiously upbeat demeanor. Looking at her felt like staring into the sun, but she couldn’t get herself to look away – she never could; it was her kryptonite.
“Is your lack of subtlety the reason why you chose not to pursue acting?”
The voice coming out of seemingly nowhere caused Jackie to startle and turn around, then let out a quiet sigh of relief when she realized it was just Rosé. Her first instinct was to go on the defensive, but it was clear that it was a moot point. “As long as I keep a healthy distance, it’s fine… right?”
Rosé chuckled softly. “Honey, with all the shows I’ve been in, I’ve seen and heard worse than whatever type of way you’re feeling about her.” Given that she was the most established of the cast, the recognizable name to the more casual Broadway fans, it wasn’t hard to believe. “I mean, she’s an adult, you don’t have a creepy age gap, and you’re not using your position to exploit her.”
Jackie quirked her brow. “Is the bar that low?” After a beat, she amended, “Never mind, we both know the answer to that.”
“For what it’s worth, this isn’t the first show I’ve done with Jan. She’s incredibly approachable, almost jarringly so. I’d say it’s worth shooting your shot. Even if she’s not into it, she’ll still be nice,” she suggested.
She hemmed and hawed for a moment, putting her feelings in as much of an analytical and pragmatic perspective as she could. “I suppose you have a point, it’s not the most precarious situation around. I’ll sleep on it.”
“It’s not even the most precarious situation in the room,” Rosé murmured under her breath as her gaze drifted over to the window where she could see Denali and Daya talking outside, then over to Symone sitting and scrolling through her phone. A knot of guilt made her stomach clench, but she did her best to swallow it.
“What do you mean?”
She waved it off, ever the actress with the ability to recover. “Don’t worry about it, it’s better to live in the present. Focus on how you’re going to make your move.”
Suzie looked at herself through her phone’s camera, stretching her neck out to examine it better. “What do you guys think?” She looked next to her, where Onya was putting Marcia’s hair into a French braid. “Do I need a touch-up?”
“I think you’re just rubbing it in our faces that you’re getting laid,” Marcia mumbled before assuring, “You’re fine, you’d have to get up real close to notice.”
“I promise that wasn’t my intention, but my defense, this is the only place I can talk about it.” When she received two perplexed stares in response, she elaborated, “The cast and crew here are the only people Jewels is out to, and I’m not gonna jeopardize any of her relationships because of a friends-with-benefits situation.”
“So you guys aren’t dating because of that? Isn’t most of her family still in Florida?” Onya asked.
Suzie’s face reddened, and she bit the inside of her cheek, wanting to choose her words carefully. “There are a lot of reasons, it’s complicated, and with social media, family can keep tabs on you from anywhere unless you keep all of your shit locked down. Besides, it’s not my place to say anything. I’m just gonna be there to support her if and when she wants to come out all the way.”
Marcia nodded understandingly. “Believe me, I understand putting romantic feelings aside for pragmatic reasons.” While her crush on Anetra was an open secret among cast members, they had collectively decided to cover for her. Even though they knew the head of tech had been separated for a couple of months now, the timing simply wasn’t right. That’s what she kept repeating to herself, anyway.
Suzie hesitated to add anything to the conversation at that point. Marcia had a better reason to keep her crush a secret on paper. Not only would it be inappropriate to pursue someone going through a tumultuous divorce actively, but Marcia had been catapulted into the Broadway spotlight, and a scandal like that could stop her rise to fame in its tracks.
But Suzie could overthink and ‘logically explain’ her way out of a paper bag, and this situation was no different. “Well, for what it’s worth, I don’t think anyone can blame you. Her service top energy matches your pillow princess one, after all.”
“Is it that obvious? Me being a pillow princess?”
“Yes,” Suzie and Onya answered in unison.
“Hey,” Symone greeted as she sat on the floor beside Anetra, who hadn’t taken her eyes off her phone since their break started. “How’s everything holding up?” While she did genuinely want to support her friend, there was a small part of her that took solace in someone having it worse than she did. As much as her breakup stung, it was still a clean break – no paperwork, no combined finances. Denali had moved all of her things out within a week. Maybe comiserating with Anetra would make her healing process easier to bear.
“‘Holding up’ is debatable at this point,” Anetra replied, her voice devoid of emotion. She sighed, allowing her unaffected expression to drop into one of exhaustion. “I swear, it’s like every time I think we’re making progress, she changes her mind or comes up with a new demand. I know it’s fucked up to say, but I almost wish she had cheated on me or something, ‘irreconciable differences’ has a whole lot of gray area since I can’t prove how unhinged she is.”
“Maybe she’ll snap eventually,” Lexi chimed in. “Crazy can only be contained for so long. That’s what my therapist said… Well, she didn’t say that, but it was implied.”
“And I’m sure she earns every dollar of your copay,” Symone replied with a laugh. “Still, she might be onto something – if your ex is as unstable as you’re saying, she’ll probably show her true colors sooner or later. She must have in front of you, at least, for you to decide to leave her, right?”
Anetra chewed on her lip for a moment. “Not no.” Her eyes darted around as she rocked back and forth on her feet. “There were signs, probably. But it did take her accusing me of cheating on her with my cousin to wake the fuck up.” She had to force the words out; the embarrassment of taking so long to figure out the obvious dragged the bitterness of anger through her throat and out of her mouth. She was smarter than this. She was better than this. How could she have been so blind? So naive?
“Don’t be so hard on yourself,” Lexi told her. “Love makes you do crazy things. I almost moved to France for a girl I was dating online for two months… Bitch, I don’t even speak French. She does still send me nudes sometimes, though, and they’re muy bueno.”
“That’s Spanish,” Symone pointed out.
Lexi waved it off. “Semantics.”
As the cast returned to rehearsing, Kori shifted her focus to editing the day’s video. While she didn’t take herself seriously in the slightest, she did take her work seriously and needed to make sure that her content lived up to her standards. But after a few moments, she found herself staring at her screen blankly.
Lydia glanced over, sensing her girlfriend’s frustration. “What’s wrong?”
She hesitated, running her fingers through her hair, hoping that by buying herself time, she would figure it out on her own. Alas, her efforts were in vain. “Does Symone spell her name with an i or a y?”
“Y,” she answered without looking up from her phone.
“Because I need to– oh, right, thank you.” Kori pointedly did not look up from her screen, knowing she would just see Lydia laughing at her. “Save it,” she preemptively warned, a small smile tugging at her lips nonetheless.
“Save it,” Lydia mocked, mimicking her cadence to a T, which caused both of them to laugh. “Do you have a specific content plan, or are you winging it?”
She shrugged. “Somewhere in between, I guess. I have some general ideas, but not in a ‘I’m going to film this video on this day and have it up at this time’ sort of way.”
“I’m sure you’ll figure it out – this is where you shine,” She cooed as she pushed herself to her feet. “I’ll be right back, gonna run to the bathroom.” With that, she pressed a kiss to her forehead and headed out of the studio.
“You guys are so cute together,” Jewels cooed as she sat beside Kori on the couch. “I’m kind of jealous,” she admitted.
Kori clicked her tongue and shook her head. “You wouldn’t need to be if you just asked Suzie out like a normal person. I don’t see what the big deal is – Miss Toot is not exactly the epitome of intimidating. I’ve met stray cats that are scarier.”
The young actress sighed as she dramatically sprawled her arms across the couch, her head tilting to rest on the back of it. “It’s not that I’m afraid of her. I’m afraid of my family. My parents, they’ve been through enough lately. I don’t know what coming out would do to them, to our relationship. I think I’ll know when the time is right. At least, I hope so.”
“Shit, I hope so too. ‘Cause all of this,” she gestured to her, “is a lot.” In a softer, kinder tone, she added, “I’m rooting for you guys, though. I think you’ll be cute together. Not as cute as me and my future wife, of course.”
Jewels sat up enough to face Kori, smiling softly. “You see you guys getting married someday?”
“Yeah…” Her voice trailed off as she saw Lydia re-enter the room, her heart still fluttering when their eyes met, just like every time before. “Someday…”

here are headcanons on Chet and Cecilia! For those who don’t know, Cecilia is an extra soc girl played by milena, who only goes on when milena has to do a split track. She’s dating Chet and we now nothing about them, therefor time to invade this space with headcanons!!!!
-I feel like Cecilia moved a lot as a kid before living in California for a long time, but then moved to Tulsa midway thru high school
-she’s really cool and very “Devil may care” attitude
-she flirts with literally everyoneeee just because she thinks it’s fun
-Chet immediately gets a crush on her because of his chronic condition of “liking everyone cuz he has no one”
-he asks her to the drive in and she thinks he seems cool enough, so they start dating
-they smoke so much together smh
-melody described Chet as a chainsmoker, add Cecilia in the mix and it’s craaazy
-Cecilia finds out about Chet’s crush on Cherry and does not give a fuck
-she’s just like “oh do you like that girl? Damn she’s pretty,”
-and he’s like “don’t you care???” and she’s like “nah”
-and she definitely flirts with tons of other guys while they’re together
-their relationship is so laid back and chill, Cecilia literally just cares about having fun and chet just wants to have a girlfriend
-they do like each other tho, but it’s more platonic than romantic imo
-they gossip to each other sm
-all the socs are very surprised at chet getting a girlfriend, poor guy :(
-Bev doesn’t like Cecilia cuz she feels kinda like a threat, but Marcia kinda likes her cuz they’re both chronic gossips
-I think they also have a very off and on relationship
-sometimes Cecilia will break up with Chet cuz she wants to go out with some other guy, and after she breaks up with that guy she’s like “heyyyyy wanna go to the drive in tomorrow night?”
-it doesn’t matter how long they’ve been broken up lmao they’ll always get back together again
-Idek what to tell u they’re literally just friends who have this pressure to be dating because they’re a boy and a girl
-after about a year of living in Tulsa her family moves again, and she and chet break up for good

Scary? My God You’re Divine (Pt. 1)
Tumblr media
(But also scary, yes)
TW: mentioned kidnapping, mentioned Dennis (his uh, desires or whatever)
Gender-neutral
Patricia x artist!reader
Reader is imagined to be 20-27: taking the place of Casey, was kidnapped in the same car as Marcia and Claire
————————————
“I understand this must all seem so unsatisfactory for you, but we are doing the best we can.” Patricia explained, leading you to the kitchen.
“…and I- appreciate the effort.” You stumbled out, following her. Her wrist was around your own, and it was all you could focus on besides the lingering fear of being kidnapped.
There had to be something wrong with you, deep down.
“Hm, well, it is nice to see that at least one of you is grateful, despite the obvious circumstances.” She hummed, glancing back at you and Marcia.
Your shoulders tensed a bit, as you blushed lightly. Maybe whatever was wrong was closer to the surface than you initially thought. You were an artist at your core, and Patricia- she would be a perfect muse. She was stunning, in a dark way.
You felt Marcia trembling behind you.
The three of you made it to the kitchen, where Patricia began to make an additional meal. Playing music through the radio, she began telling facts about animals- the great felines, tigers, lions, carcass feeding. Marcia and you both felt a chill down your spine at the last one, albeit for different reasons.
SLAM!
“It’s crooked.” Patricia sighed, “I- forgive me, I’ll have to make a new one.” Her back turned to you both, her shawl highlighting her subtle muscle movements along her back. It reminded you of the tigers she was waxing poetic about earlier.
Then, you saw Marcia gesture to the door, and back at you. Another escape attempt? After what happened with Claire? You think you’ll pass…the strength Dennis had shown, with his inclinations, you’d rather not be on their bad side. Though, Marcia didn’t seem to get that message.
Standing up, Marcia grabbed the chair and turned towards Patricia. It was a useless attempt, and if she was going to try it alone anyways…if you both were splitting ways-
“Patricia!”
She whirled around, knife in hand and eyes widened slightly, just as Marcia brought the chair down. “Gh!” Her arm caught most of the force, but twisted slightly downwards regardless from the impact. You stepped forward, out of your chair and towards the enraged woman, reaching out to help her.
She stands the same time you reach closer, and you only lightly brush her shoulder. Her eyes flick quickly towards yours, face tightened in anger- and something unreadable. Then, it was gone.
“Thank you for the warning darling. Please, stay here. Do not touch anything.”
She rushes out of the room, hurrying after the raven-haired girl. And you’re left to your own devices.
…She told you not to touch anything.
So you shouldn’t touch anything.
But it couldn’t hurt to find a pencil and paper, would it? Practically harmless, you doubt you would get punished too severely for it. You could always return it if they asked. Obviously, trying to reach electronics of any sort would put you in a bad light- but simple drawing supplies? You had been itching to make a basic sketch of some of the alters since you woke up here.
You ignored the distant clamoring in the next room. Opening some drawers in the kitchen, you surprisingly find a pen and some loose post-it notes. There are some with old grocery lists written down but a few blank ones as well. ‘Good enough for now’.
You just needed to get a sketch down of Patricia. God, she was just- beautiful. In an unorthodox way perhaps, since many were sure to see her as a blight on humankind (bigotry and all that), but she was stunning. You’ve wanted to draw her every time she’s greeted you and the others.
By the time Patricia got back, ‘without Marcia’ you noted, you had gotten the lower half of her face, a slight smile and jawline, and her turtleneck and shawl down to her golden locket. You had to choose where to cut off since the sticky note was so small. You were just adding shading when she strode over and took the two out of your hands. She was furious.
“I believe I was quite clear about not touching anything, dear. What could you even be doing with a pen and- …oh.”
You were wide-eyed now, holding your breath. You knew she would be upset at seeing her orders disobeyed but…it was up to what she thought of the drawing.
“Is this, supposed to be me?” Patricia’s eyes flicked to the drawing, and back to you. She brought the hand not holding the pen and drawing up to her locket, clearly- something. Surprised? Confused?
“I, I’ve wanted to draw you since I got here. I couldn’t help it.”
Her gaze locked onto yours, unspeaking, drawing up to her full height. Her eyes narrowed, still suspicious.
“I’m sorry, I went against your order. I was going to return-“ You stammered.
“I suppose it is understandable, dear. Do not think too much on it.” Patricia whispered. It was clear she was still a bit confused, but she wouldn’t ask questions. She was the one in charge, no weakness would show here, not even if this strange person seemed to take a- what, a fascination? With them? Or just with her? She would figure it out later.
“Just go back to your room, do it now.”
“Can I have the pen and some-“
“No.”

Can you do a Brent x Trevi's sister during the miscast
Brent Comer x Reader
Summary- During the bcefa fundraiser, Brent gets a little drunk. Which leads to your brother finding out about you two.
Word Count: 1543
DRUNK "MISTAKES"
Tumblr media
When I heard that we were doing a miscast for bcefa I was immediately elated. Emma is an absolute genius. I will be playing Bob/Cop. I can’t wait for it. Hanging out with my friends while raising money. Sounds like the best time.
Being in a show with my brother and my secret boyfriend is definitely something. The only reason we are keeping it a secret is because Trevi is very protective.
Being with Brent is great though. I never stop laughing or smiling. With that being said Brent and I are on a date right now.
“Do you think anybody cares that we are missing the show right now?” I ask him as we lounge on a blanket near the bridge.
“No, I think we are fine. They won’t miss us.”
“Oh yeah totally. They’ll just wonder why we are at the miscast later and not at today's show.”
“I also didn’t think about Trevi. Wondering why we are both out.”
“I’ll just tell him I had a doctor's appointment or something. Let's just hope he doesn’t check my location.”
“You know when I met him I didn’t think he would be the protective type.”
“He never usually is. I guess maybe since there are more boys than girls in the cast. I don’t know.”
“I wonder how he’ll react when he finally finds out about us.”
“Who knows. It could go so many ways.”
He then looks at his phone.
“Okay we should get going. It’s almost 4. We have to go get ready for this thing.” He stands up and reaches for my hand.
I take his hand and stand up too.
“I can’t wait to see the Bob and cop outfit.”
“I know. I can’t wait for the Marcia one. Brie said something about a cardigan.”
“Oh I can’t wait to see that. And Jason’s Bev costume. It better not be better than mine.”
“Jason’s coming for your job.” He says and laughs.
“We’ll see about that. I don’t know how well he could rock that dress.”
We both laugh and start walking to the theater.
When we walk in I’m immediately stopped by my brother. Of course.
“Hey where were you? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, Trevi. I just had a last minute appointment I forgot about.”
“Okay good. I was worried. Why weren’t you here earlier Brent? Are you okay too?”
“I’m good. I just had a migraine and wanted to rest so I could do the miscast tonight.”
“Okay good. I’m glad you both are okay. I was surprised to see you walk in together.”
“Oh yeah. I ran into him at 787 so we just walked together.”
“Okay cool. I’ll see you in a little while, yeah?”
“Yes Trevi I’ll see you in a little.”
He then walks away and I immediately let out a breath.
“You know I love my brother but sometimes I can’t breathe around him. Him constantly asking questions makes me so nervous sometimes.”
“It’ll be okay. Maybe we should just tell him soon. Not right now, but sometime in the future. It’ll be a lot easier for the both of us.”
“I guess we can. I guess I’m just worried about how he’ll react.”
“I get that. But it’ll be okay. We have each other no matter what.”
“Yeah you’re right. Maybe we can tell him next week before vacation. The perfect time so he doesn’t question why we are both out again.”
“Sounds like a plan. Okay let's go get ready.” He hugs me and kisses me on the head.
“Yep, let's get this show on the road.”
We then split ways to go get ready.
When I get to my dressing room I see laying out on my chair a purple button up, khaki shorts, a letterman jacket, and black boots.
I hear someone come in and I turn around and see Tilly wearing her Johnny costume.
“Oh my god Tilly. This is amazing.”
“I know. That Bob costume is so good too. I think you should steal the button up.”
“I might, it’s kind of incredible.”
I then change into the costume. Then there's a knock on the door.
“Come in!”
Brent and Jason then walk in with their outfits on.
“Oh my god.”
“Do you like?” Brent asks and does a spin.
“You guys look insane. I might steal both of those cardigans.”
“I think I’m coming for your job.” Jason tells me.
“No, don’t you dare.”
“Okay we are gonna go make a tiktok with Sky. I’ll see you guys on the bus.”
“Okay, have fun. Bye.”
They both leave and I gather my other costume pieces for the cop and head down to the bus.
I see Brent already there so I go sit next to him.
“Are you excited?”
“Oh definitely. It's gonna be awesome to sing a song I never do.”
“Oh yeah the drive in is gonna be great.”
Everyone else starts to pile on and we head to the Yotel where Green Room 42 is.
Emma comes over to us and is filming for her youtube channel.
“Okay everyone here is Y/n and Brent. And tonight they are Marcia and Bob. How are your guys feeling?”
“A little woozy. I hate buses.” I answer
“That's perfect okay.” She says and laughs.
“No but I’m excited. I can’t wait for Tilly to kill me. Everyone's costumes look amazing. It’s gonna be great.”
“And I’m ready to get drunk.”
“Brent, you can’t say that.” I say and slap him on the chest.
“I’ll cut it out.”
She says and walks away to talk to others.
“I can’t believe you.”
“What?”
“Just don’t get too drunk. You get handsy and we don’t need that today.”
“I’ll try my best.”
“You better. Or the fans will start to talk.”
“They already do.”
“Yeah I guess you're right. Either way we can't have Trevi catch on until we are ready to tell him.”
“Even if he does, remember, we have each other. It’ll be okay.”
“I know.”
We get there surprisingly fast for city traffic.
We head into the building and the workers lead us to a room to wait in until the show starts. From the room you can hear the audience pile in.
A worker then comes in.
“Okay everyone is in their seats you guys are gonna stay behind the curtains at the entrance. Emma you can head out to start.”
She then walks out and I hear so many screams.
After a little while we hear Emma call out.
“Are you guys ready for Sky for Cherry!”
Brent and Jason pick up Sky to carry him in and I follow behind.
When I tell you the drive in was the most fun, it was the most fun. The energy of everyone was just so high and you can tell the audience was loving it too.
Another thing was how drunk Brent was getting. He could not put his rum and coke down. I think at one point he also tried to give Jason a sip.
As much as it was funny, I was a little worried. Brent is a very affectionate drunk and as much as I don’t mind we don’t need that right now.
Justice for Tulsa was super fun. I even got a flashlight to hold while I was the cop. Although I think I blinded a few people.
We were all waiting “backstage” while Jason was absolutely killing Hopeless War. Trevi went to the bathroom so Brent decided to “attach” his whole body to me.
I look over at Josh and JPC and they are “giggling” and pointing and I just give them the do not say anything look. I shake him off when I see Trevi walk back to us.
To make everything worse Brent decides he doesn’t care anymore and is once again attached to me during the finale. Trevi didn’t notice, but I have a feeling the audience did. I also have a feeling Josh and JPC will tell him.
I love them but they are worse than high school girls when it comes to gossip.
We all get back on the bus and head to the theater. I decided to sit with Emma on the way. I just know Brent would be a menace if I sat with him.
When we get to the theater we all go to our dressing rooms to change out of the costumes. Before I can head out for the night Trevi comes up to me.
“Can we talk?”
“Yeah, is everything okay?”
“Why didn’t you tell me about you and Brent?”
“They told you?”
“Yes and I’m upset it wasn’t you who told me.”
“I’m sorry Trevi I really am. I was just scared. You’ve been so protective lately, I was worried you would go crazy or something.”
“Of course I’m protective. You’re my little sister. But I would never be mad at you for being happy? Brent is a good guy, I have no problem.”
“Oh thank god. I guess now is a good time to say we are going on vacation together.”
“As long as he doesn’t try anything.”
“Oh my god Trevi.”
“I’m just kidding. I love you sis.”
“I love you too.”

Defy the Stars, Chapter 12: The Heat of Life
Read on ao3
Summary: From opposite sides of Tulsa, Marcia and Two-Bit were never supposed to meet, let alone fall in love. Though the greasers and the socs attempt to drive them apart, they are drawn to each other. The course of true love never did run smooth. OR: a marbit Romeo and Juliet AU
Tell me not, friar, that thou hearest of this, Unless thou tell me how I may prevent it. If in thy wisdom thou canst give no help, Do thou but call my resolution wise, And with this knife I'll help it presently.
Trip had his arm around Marcia.
The two of them were sitting in his car in the back seat, parked in the empty lot of an abandoned building. They were sharing a bag of burgers and fries split. He’d even gotten her a strawberry shake.
She was pressed to his side, flush from shoulders to knees. While they’d been eating and idly chatting, his hand had migrated from her knee to her thigh and then pulled her right against him. It was a bit claustrophobic, but Marcia didn’t push him away. If anything, she leaned deeper into him.
“My parents extended their vacation,” she said as she nibbled on the end of a fry. Were she with Cherry, she would have shoved a handful of fries in her mouth, take a big bite of her burger, not caring what a mess she looked like. She couldn’t do that with Trip. So she’d been picking at her food for the better part of twenty minutes, barely eating anything.
Absently she thought that Two-Bit probably wouldn’t mind , if anything, he’d probably be impressed. Her heart ached so she forced that thought out of her mind.
“Oh?” Trip asked, he actually managed to sound a little interested.
Marcia nodded. “They won’t be back until the second week of September.” Even though she didn’t really get along with her mother, she would give anything to just curl up in her arms and weep. Her mother would never give her that kind of affection. The mom she longed for was the one in books and movies. What wouldn’t she give for someone to love her unconditionally?
But she was granted no such thing.
Trip squeezed her tighter and kissed the side of her head. It was a gesture of affection. But all Marcia could think about was how his embrace felt so restrictive. If she tried, he wouldn’t let her move from his side. So she didn’t try.
“That’s too bad,” he said dully. She wanted him to ask if she was alright. She wanted him to ask if she wanted to stay a night or two with him so she wouldn’t be alone. He didn’t do any of that. He turned her chin to him and he kissed her.
Marcia’s chest hurt. But this was right. So she kissed him back.
She allowed him to move her onto her back and push a hand under her dress. His hand was warm, thumb tracing the edge of her stockings. His tongue pressed against her lips so she opened her mouth to him. The way Two-Bit kissed her was so different from Trip.
Two-Bit kissed her as though every touch was a miracle. Trip kissed her like he was owed it.
Marcia reciprocated as she was expected to. She tugged his shirt until it was untucked from his pants. He hummed appreciatively and brought his other hand up to squeeze her breast. She’d always hated that, it made her feel like she was something for him to use, not a person with thoughts. Maybe to him, she wasn’t.
She couldn’t take it anymore.
