1961 Mercury Meteor

It seemed like all of the automotive brands were going for space-themed nameplates during the 1960s. The US was on its way to visiting the moon and people were excited. But a space-named car doesn’t necessarily translate into performance, and the Meteor was evidence of just that. The car just lacked the performance features that you’d expect from a car like this and the heavy curb weight didn’t help things out. Mercury was innovating as time went on, but the Meteor was a definite dud for the company.

The Meteor was a valiant effort for the company to create a memorable car, but the lack of necessary performance and reliability left many owners disgruntled. You’ll probably seldom see a Meteor on the road anymore and for good reason. Most of these cars have ended up rusted away and in junkyards around the country. There are just better options you can choose from that will last longer and offer more bang for the buck.

Meteor Montcalm, 1968. The Meteor marque was used by Ford in Canada between 1949 and 1976 for a range of cars sold through Canadian Mercury dealers that were pitched at a price point below the Mercury model line. The Montcalm was a Ford Galaxie with Mercury-like front and rear styling. The range included 2 coupes with fastback or formal rooflines, a convertible and 2 sedans, with or without a B pillar. The S-33 was the sporty model (bottom pics).

Fkng artblock. I’ve taken decision, that I’ll ignore all dumb political news. My mental health now is a damn skanky boot with no unbroken parts. Since 24 feb 2022 I’ve been challenging my nervous system by panic attacks, infinite anxiety and scare.

My house is safe, but every single day i worry about “what if the worst thing is happen?” Ah, God… I’m so tired of this.

And again, like in 2019, being in awful depression after my the worst professional fuck-ups, I resume drawing. Drawing is always my sanctuary, my rescue.

Meet Ceres - Once just another asteroid in the belt, he got knocked out of orbit and nearly burned up in the sun. The incident connected the solar star and once icy meteor at their cores, changing Ceres's orbit to follow closer than Mercury's, becoming the Sun's moon. Sol and Ceres ended up having a rocky start, but they're practically inseparable nowadays. Ceres's in charge of reconnaissance and general snooping around the star system. Acts as Sol's eyes and ears when needed, and vice versa Sol trusts all of himself with Ceres.

•Name: Malik Olanrewaju

Ethnicity: Nigerian-Ghanaian

Pronouns: He/They

Height: 6'0"

•Malik is sharp, methodical, and dangerously curious. He dissects everything—machines, theories, people—always searching for patterns. He’s quiet but intense, unreadable yet subtly witty. Though he keeps his emotions controlled, there’s a reckless streak beneath the surface, especially when something—or someone—piques his interest.

He’s also a notorious alcoholic. Whether it’s stress, boredom, or just habit, he always has a drink within reach. It doesn't slow him down—if anything, it makes his sharp mind even harder to read. (He's in denial.)

•Background:

Raised between two cultures, Malik grew up questioning everything, which led him to science and, eventually, the facility Mercury stole from. He studied abroad, picking up languages and pushing himself toward discovery. His world was orderly—until Mercury crashed into it. Now, he can’t help but dig deeper, even if it means drinking his way through the frustration.

-Little guy was based off meteor showers and shooting stars <3 ! Specifically ones on the planet Mercury. Instead of being cool glowy and starry streaks like the ones on earth, they crash into Mercury's surface creating holes and such— which will basic be my metaphoric excuse on why he wants to get under Mercury's skin so much. /lh

-Smart as hell, but just lazy—if something takes too much effort, he’ll weasel his way out of it.

-Him and Liliane (my Sky listener—Honey) used to date for like 2 years before Malik's alcoholism broke everything off. They're still kind of friends..kind of.

-his sleep schedule is WORRYING. you never know if he's up at 3 AM or knocked out for 14 hours. There's no saving this schedule.

-has a pet bunny :3 his name is "Sir Hopsalot Fluffington the Third, Grand Duke of Carrotshire and Protector of the Lettuce Realm"...he just calls him Hops.

-Unbeatable at card games. You think he’s bluffing? He’s not. Or maybe he is. Either way, you’re losing.

-Hates bitter stuff with a passion. Coffee? Dark chocolate? Not a chance. Give him one and he's throwing it at you as hard as he can.
